Prefect location for us. Clean and consistent Hampton Inn. Love having the consistency of the hotel. Great breakfast. Only down side was the noise of the elevator and trash truck early in the morning out our window.

I’d observed some homeless people across the street so i inquired at the front desk to see if I should expect problems. I was told no, In the back parking lot a group of homeless were fighting and yelling. I was awakened at 3am with the yelling.

Everything was great. Breakfast was simple but met our needs. Very close to freeways and The Boarwalk and the pier. Staff was nice and pleasant.

The hotel was nice overall. It was clean and I felt safe (I was traveling alone for a wedding). Staff was very friendly and super helpful. Breakfast had some good choices. Parking was okay. It’s free which was nice and I liked I could see the parking lot from my room. If I am back in the area, I would definitely stay again.

The room was clean and nice, staff was helpful and friendly. However, I was not a fan of the lay out at all. If you have young children or light sleepers this may not be the best place. Our room (as well as others) were right beside- like 5ft-10ft, common areas. The pool, the check in lobby, and dining hall were all right by our room so 2am, LOUD voices walking by chattering by hotel staff, early morning diners eating and laughing, all immediately outside our door. The bathroom also had barnyard sliding doors which gave little to no privacy. The pool was so incredibly small that once there was 6 people in it you could not swim. Overall it wasn't our favorite stay.

Cons: 1. Location is close to tent city, transients walking through parking lot constantly. 2. Bed was not comfortable. 3. A dog was snuck into one of the rooms and barked all night, no rest for us.

When I searched the hotel, I searched it for the stay of March 17th through the 18th. After the hotel was booked my receipt showed March 18 through the 19th. I tried to contact management with no response. When I got there, the guy at the front desk came to the door and told me that it was 100% booked and there was no vacancy and because I booked through Expedia, there would be no refund. We could not stay an extra day so we didn’t even use the hotel room that I paid for.

The room wasnt cleaned.The breakfest wasnt good. The room shower tub didnt hold any water so taking baths were out of the question. Also the behind the dest in the morning was very rude...Ive stayed in other Hamptons before, but this one was by far the worst one!!!!! If it was possible to give zero stars that would be my rating!!!!

I stay here regularly for work trips. The rooms are always spotless and the staff is kind, courteous and helpful.

The entire staff was absolutely wonderful. Our room was well appointed clean and comfortable. Everything worked correctly and the buffet breakfast was wonderful. That hotel was clean. The pool was awesome. We had one of the best times we’ve ever had.

I spoke to the receptionist and another guy -looks like a manager when i checked out about my experience and they tild me that, thats the policy. Never had experience like it in any hotel i had used in the past. So whose to blame.

The walls are so thin we could hear EVERYTHING. Also, the outside of the building was frequented by homeless individuals. I know that is hard to help.

After booking the room on Expedia, we arrived to check-in within a 15-minute window as well as late evening (10:40). The front desk person was super understanding and helpful. Since had two young children, they worked to ensure we were provided with a quiet room. They went above and beyond in the customer service department. Kudos!!! They are an awesome representative for the Hampton Inn and Hilton.

The hotel was extremely comfortable. AC, comfortable beds, very accommodating, lovely staff, clean, free parking and a free breakfast too! Good location- Close to highway, boardwalk and food. No complaints, would stay here again and again.

I was really, really impressed with how clean the room was. I'm the type of person that peels back the covers and looks in all the nooks and crannies before I can get comfortable. The room was spotless and had a nice fresh smell too. The view from the window was lovely, the staff was extremely nice, and the breakfast was great! This was such a good deal. Unfortunately, the pool was closed while we were there but I understand these things happen. I couldn't be more pleased with our stay. We will definitely be back!

The main parking lot is use by homeless as a crossing path. Didn’t feel unsafe but returning to the hotel at night felt a little scared.

Our stay at The Hampton Inn was great. My family and I will definitely come back. Everyone was so nice that worked at the hotel. I was welcomed warmly by the front counter staff in the evening and the morning.

Excellent service. The young lady who checked us in went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were early, and had a difficult time arriving due to travel issues, but she let us in our room early and gave us snacks and treats to cheer us up. The hotel was in excellent condition as well and even had a warm indoor pool which we enjoyed!

I did not think this property lived up to the Hampton Inn name. Everything was clean, but the breakfast was sparse and the coffee was out for quite a while. Our room was extremely loud and, while we appreciated that the people next to us were enjoying themselves, we did not need to know the specifics of how they liked to pleasure one another.

I gave this a low rating because number one I pulled back the cover and top sheet on the bed and found a toothpick! This told me the bed had been used. Disgusting. They gave us a different room but there is no excuse for covering up a previously used bed. The new room had crumbs on the floor. Obviously they have an issue with cleaning. Also the bed was uncomfortable and caused a backache. The pool is tiny but it did work for me to exercise and it was heated. Breakfast was standard. Would not stay again.

The property was kept really clean and was maintained well! I was so happy to feel cleanliness in the bathroom as if I were home. The facility was clean from the moment you stepped in, in the dining areas, elevator, and all the way up to the rooms. There was even hand sanitizer @ the elevator. The staff was really nice upon our checking in and any time we encountered them in between our 3 night stay.

Was a clean well maintained motel. I had a large room with handicap equipment. Like extra rails/ walk in shower and on the ground floor.

Everything was great, We would have given 5 stars except the pool heater was broken and the water was super cool. However we were able to use another Hotel's pool that was heated, but it was about a 8 min drive away.

The staff is great so friendly helpful and engaging. The building is fine and clean. Even the safety in the parking lot has security. Just the location made it so there were multiple police activity issues with sirens all night long challenging sleep.

We had a great experience here. We arrived around 11:30pm and there were two staff members at the front desk ready to check us in. They were both very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good overall. I did wish they offered bacon in addition to sausage but otherwise it was good. The indoor pool is really tiny but my kids still loved it and said it was awesome. I usually sleep very poorly in hotel beds but found these to be very comfy. Also appreciated the full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Overall a great stay at an affordable rate. We will definitely stay again when we visit Santa Cruz again. Thanks to the friendly staff for a great stay!

We were on a very busy road and the windows were very poorly insulated. Would not stay here again as most rooms face either the highway and/or a major intersection.

Other than the fire alarm ringing from 1am to 4am it’s was a nice stay. Rooms was surprisingly clean and spacious. The General Manager refunded the night out of curtesy. Breakfast was nice. I would give this place a second chance only by the empathy and great customer service of the GM.

My stay was awful! The fire alarm went off from 3am to 5am and no one had any answers. We had to sleep in our car just to get some rest! It was ridiculous, no one said anything.

Other than that, I have nothing but good things to say. Great location, clean, accommodating staff, free breakfast and reasonably priced. Only a few minutes drive or nice walk to either downtown or to the wharf. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

We stayed 2 nights. The first night we were awake for a long period of by malfunctioning fire alarm that keep up awake several hours. The manager didn’t how to stop the fire alarm from going off. This occurred between the ours 2 AM - 4AM in the morning. Very disturbing and exhausting. I would have left but didn’t have anyway else to stay. This was the worst experience at the Hampton hotel.

We booked a suite for my family over 4th of July weekend thinking since it’s the Hampton is going to be big and just perfect for our family. Well we were wrong the only thing that suite had was a king size bed and a sofa bed the best western we stayed at before had a way better than this for half of the price and to top it off in the middle of the night the fire alarms went on and off for what felt 2 hours and nothing was wrong no fire. there was some technical issues. Overall will not be staying here again.

Fire alarm went off all night on the 4th of July. Couldn’t sleep at all

Parking was tight and homeless people are around parking lot and property. It is near a busy road and right off the freeway. Staff service and cleanliness were okay. The worst part of the stay was the fire alarm tripped off many times from 2am to 5am. Maintenance team and firefighters came and confirmed it was a false alarm, but they were unable to turn off the alarm and it kept going off every 5-10 mins. It was so loud which made it impossible to go back to sleep. My family only got 2-3 hours of sleep during our stay. Other people in the hotel either left the hotel early or preferred to sleep in the car. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

The Hampton Inn is very comfortable . There was a large variety and options for breakfast. It is convenient to downtown, the Boardwalk, and the campus at UCSC.

We chose this hotel since it was close to downtown and the boardwalk and although the property itself was ok, there were a lot of homeless people (unfortunately) hanging around in the parking lot. I have kids and felt somewhat unsafe going out to the car and around the premise. The staff was wonderful (esp Jordan at the front desk) who welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful. The pool was extremely small (an oversized Jacuzzi really) so that was disappointing. Breakfast was great with a lot of options! So good and bad but I do not think we would return.

Cloudy pool, ants in room, hairs on floor & in tub upon checking into the room, gunshots first night somewhere VERY close by, many homeless people around premises begging for food, money, or entry to property to use facilities/bathroom, and mini fridge was either freezing items or making them room temperature; there was no happy medium.

We asked for a rollaway bed which was not available. We were OK with the "accessible" room but someone in a wheel chair or with more substantial disability would not find its facilities adequate.

The hotel was perfect, the employees helpful and friendly, but the surrounding area was horrible. There was an armed robbery at 1 am at Dennys next door which woke us up. Then the trash truck very loudly dumped the dumpster at 5 am. We wouldnt stay here ever again.

Rooms are very clean, it's nice that the pool is inside but to small was so crowded wasn't able to use it. For breakfast a second waffle maker would be nice.

Uncomfortable mattresses, hours of loud music from the pool area below, garbage trucks outside our window at 7am, less restful than a cheap hostel.

Hotel is in a good location, easy parking and close to restaurants and shops. Rooms are big and roomy.
