It was right next door to a Goodwill and clise to the Circus Museum but you guys stated breakfast included and when I got to the hotel they told me it was continental breakfast, secondly it is not in Lido Beach it is pretty far from Lido Beach. It should state close to the Airport. It was just continental breakfast when it stated breakfast included. You r giving wrong info to the general public.

I would rate this establishment a 0.5 out of 5 stars if I could. While the staff is commendable, the housekeeping is inadequate. The amenities are not replenished, and there are stains on the shower curtains. The overall odor is unpleasant. Additionally, some of the food appears spoiled, resembling black cereal, and some of the juice contains an unidentified substance.

The room had an awful smell. Had to spray lysol. The carpet was dirty. The coffee pot didn’t work. The bed was lopsided. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I’m going to contact corporate. We spoke to other guests and they stated it was awful also. The breakfast was toast and orange and apple juice and coffee far cry from a continental breakfast.

There were holes in the walls and a big gap to outside door. We needed an overnight place to stay for early flight. Place charges too much for what you get.

This was a last minute booking as my first one was no-show to give me the key. Location is great, if you have a car (short drive to many beaches), and is part of “Old Sarasota” (lots of hotels along that strip of road on Tamiami trail, this one being one of the more expensive ones). I stayed 1 night at the Regency Inn (less expensive motel), but switched to this one, based on listing pictures, and it’s higher price point, making it seem more highly sophisticated. I was deceived. Sadly, turned out to be lipstick on a pig. Mostly a paint job, with a few upgrades. Room claims to have a “Refrigerator”, which is a (new) dorm fridge. The coffee maker could not be used to heat water for tea or oatmeal because coffee grinds filled the spout. I had to move it to the bedside to use it because the cord didn’t reach the fully stacked power cord. However, if I only wanted my caffeine before 10am, I could get it with the continental breakfast. The bathroom sink and counter were probably older than me…, lots of peeling, worn layers, and paint drips on it. The baseboards were unfinished, The bathroom door was warped, and cracked. The AC had a remote with no batteries. The couch pillows had paint and other (???) stains on it. My bed quilt was torn and my bed sheets were stained! The privacy sign was so tattered it would fly off the door handle. Staff was friendly, but little consolation to other issues. Should have stayed at the Regency, it was undeceivingly older, but spotless!

Although this was not one of the newer hotels I stayed at it was very clean and customer service was friendly.

I booked a room for three nights, after first night they gave someone else my room. Put me in a double full instead of the king I paid for. Second room was dirty an was upset with being switched.

It was pretty noisy all night because of speeder/drag racer traffic on the busy road right in front of the hotel, but if I was in a room on the back side I wouldn’t have been bothered by it. All in all a good stay.

The room smelled so heavily of smoke that we actually didn’t stay. They refunded the room.

The only reason I stayed was because it was walking distance from the airport When I get back from where I am now, I'll find another place. I don't care how much it is. I'm certainly not gonna stay there. Oh, and I asked for a 4 o'clock wake up call. I never got it even though she said she would.

Unfortunately, the street noise is quite loud and made it hard to sleep. Breakfast was good and location to SRQ is good. Only reason I didn;t give 5 stars is because both nights the noise was so loud - I couldn't it 5 starts.

Everything was spotlessly clean including the breakfast area -- not one drip -- pristine. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. I booked at the last minute and the price for Sarasota in January on a Friday night was amazing! The pool was very nice. I would definitely stay again. I was able to walk to the airport. No frills but just what I needed.

Great budget hotel for 1 or 2 nights. Noisy through doors but safe and clean. Very close to airport but a little to far away from downtown for a convenient stay in Sarasota.

The room.we stayed in, they were doing construction next door in another room and besides that the carpet was dirty. Seems like work was done in the room was never cleaned.

Nice budget hotel. I’m a trucker who likes to get out of my truck one weekend a month and this was a great place with truck parking next store at the Good will. We were able to go to the beach near by and have fun shopping. The dining options were awesome too. They have a pool now which was a nice bonus that was unexpected because it says no pool online.

Manager Patel was helpful but the first room I was given had a bed made with obviously dirty sheets that smelled like sour & sweat. The second room I was given I only killed one roach so I consider that a success.

The room was ok, but there were cockroahes

The hotel was acceptable however the roof was being replaced during my stay and I was not informed by staff. I was woken up each morning to the noise with the worst being on Monday morning. I called the front desk as well as sent a message. The front desk did not offer any compensation for the issue. I still have not heard from the message I sent through the hotels.com help link. I ran into another group of people who were staying at the hotel and they were offered $50 for the inconvenience. I have yet to hear anything but the cost of the night was over double that.

We just needed a place to sleep that was close to the attractions we were visiting. This location was very convenient. This is an older building and, although our receptionist was delightful, the room assigned to us was not ready. We were moved to another room that smelled of smoke. It was ok but not an outstanding visit.

The accommodations were outdated, and the rooms smelled of cigarettes. The area looked unsafe.

The staff couldn't have been nicer and our room was clean, but this is $100/night kind of property. It is the most basic of motels, with absolutely no frills. I'm OK with that, but the amount we paid to stay there was 2.5 times more what we should have paid for what we got. It is nothing the staff did wrong, but I feel that I was misled online as to what kind of property I was booking.

I am amazed that Best Western would put their brand on such a property as this. A new coat of paint on the outside does not trump ill-maintained rooms and ancient bedding. Two good things about this hotel were a very hot shower with strong spray and a cheery, helpful receptionist. However, one of the rooms assigned to our party had not even been made up that day, so had to be reassigned.

The place was old and had a smell of dampness

The beds are comfortable. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Coffee maker in room. The fact is that the rugs are old and stinky, the bed linens are cheap and worn, and the room smells like pot. The pool is not heated.

Travel paint crew staying there decided to have a rousing soccer game right outside my door. Breakfast milk was off.

Horrible. I reserved a non smoking room and when I got there they gave me a key for my room when I opened the door it stink like a hookah smoking lounge. When I went back to the main office they told me that they didn’t have any other room available. So I had to drive back home 3 hours. Never again

Cleam, comfortable and great location

It was a great location for an interview I had. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was a good morning start. I had an issue with smelling smoke from another room and I was in a non smoking room. Also, the shower was lukewarm and I couldn’t get hot water at all. The small fridge was a nice size and the tv had good channels. It was good for a 2 day stay.

Front desk needs to reduce pungent smell

Property is very old and it appears that few, if any, upgrades have been done. Room had a sour smell. A/C unit kept kicking off. One wall had no power to the outlets and lamp. Extremely overpriced for that quality of room.

I provided this rating as I was misguided by the reviews, this hotel in the outside appeared to be kept up and maintained which was totally not what was expected. I was there for business and as a last minute found this hotel as the only available in the area. At night I experienced baby roaches crawling on the wall and floor. The door frame also was damaged and this was concerning as the chain lock came off and I provided the frame and lock to the cleaning lady. I am sure this was there before and was just not addressed. The breakfast was nothing to brag about as I did not eat it. The rates were high considering this was Spring Break and not too many available rooms at short notice. This was a 1st and last at this location.

This was one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever seen. Best Western should be ashamed to allow its name on this dump. Expedia should be ashamed to accept reservations for it. After moving our bags into the room and unpacking, we realized that the room was filthy and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We left the door open to let in some fresh air, but after a while we noticed some rather unsavory-looking characters in front of our door. We were forced to close the door. After about an hour, I was having difficulty breathing and decided that we could not stay in this room. It was so bad that I decided to take photographs. We packed our bags and left. I went to the desk to inform the staff that, because of the smelly, dirty room, we would not be staying. The owner/manager came out and refused to refund our room charge. I told him we would take it up with Expedia. We left and checked into a Hilton across the street. Here are the problems I encountered with this room: The smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. There were burn holes in the bedspread. The sheets were old, worn and damaged. The deadbolt lock did not work and the door

With door closed, could see entirely around door frame. Cockroach in bathroom, entire place smelled like pot. Random people browsing around parking lot, was amazed windows were still intact in vehicle when we left first thing in morning. Dont recommend anything about the place

This hotel was maybe a two star old roadhouse 2 story dirty highway motel.

The tub needed a good cleaning, and a stopper, as did the sink. I would never stay at this property again, even though the owner at check-in asked us to give him a "five star" review if we were happy with our stay.

Stayed a night with our kids. Came to FL to visit family. Room was incredibly clean and spacious. Mattresses were great! Staff was accommodating. The pool area is adorable. Wish we had more time to enjoy. Yes, it's by the airport and near to downtown. We saved over $100 by booking our stay here. Great room for the value. We were very comfortable and slept great!!! Would highly recommend.

Place is clean and quiet

Hotel was clean, neat and extremely comfortable. Nice and immaculate pool for a relaxing end to the day. Excellent wi-fi network. Mattress is cozy and comfortable. Few steps away from the airport, free parking and a five minute drive to the beautiful lido key beach. A great location if visiting the amazing twin of Sarasota and Bradenton.

The check in and check out staff were wonderful and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Staff was very attentive and good variety of breakfast items.

Staff were friendly and property was quiet, very close to many beaches and great restaurants.

We stayed for just one night because we wanted another beach day but the conditions are not the best. Room was kinda dirty with a dead lizard and roach, bathroom corner were dirty as well, the smell wasn’t like a fresh clean, room is dark. As soon my kids woke up we did the check out early morning.

The hotel is on the older side and could use some updating. I was put on the second floor of the 2 story building and swear the building bounced when I moved across the floor

The roomed smelled like smoke, the electricity on the wall with the TV and appliances would go out for hours, and then suddenly turn back on. A terrible visit indeed!

Dated but good

There were numerous prostitutes in and out of the rooms on both sides and below us..there was open drug use in the adjacent rooms and the parking area...music blasting at 2 am from cars in the lot...small children in the "party" rooms around us...roaches in our room... EXTREMELY unsafe property with no apparent concern on the part of the management!!! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone to avoid staying at this property...if none other available, sleep in your car!!

We arrived late in the evening after traveling all day. The gentleman at the front desk was wonderful. He noticed I had inadvertently booked a king bed, and he changed it to a room with two beds, which my son and I were very grateful for. The breakfast was excellent, and I appreciated that they had wheat bread for toast, not just white. The rooms had upgraded furniture and appliances, and the shower was great. Very clean room and smelled good. The AC was nice and cold.

Coffee maker didn't work. Room above me must have been hosting gymnastic lessons in the afternoon but they quieted down by evening, no big deal.

Booked this accommodation to use after attending a concert at the Van Wezel theater in Sarasota. Was hard to reach the booked room with no elevators. Stairs were old and dangerous and and very difficult to climb for older people. Very disappointed in the age of the facility. Actually decided not to use the room and chose to drive back home to Fort Myers and arrived home at midnight. We paid for the accommodation, which we thought was way overpriced for the age and location of the facility. In addition a light bulb had burned out and the telephone did not work, which would have not been a good thing if we had had an emergency. I reported this to their office, but they seemed surprised and said we would have to go back up to the room with them in order for them to look at the problems, which we declined to do at that moment as we were on our way to dinner reservations and the theater event. We had taken our suitcase up to the room before dinner and decided after the show to collect our suitcase, and go back home, and forfeit the cost of the room

I stayed for three nights, as I was visiting family for a memorial and visit, otherwise working from the motel room the rest of the time. This is a regular motel on US 41. The room was clean and modernized. The bed, furniture, towels, and flooring are all new. For example, there are power outlets and USB outlets next to the beds and on the desk. There is a K-cup coffee machine on the counter. Housekeeping did a very good job, including mopping the floor, which I encountered when I came back from a nearby diner. If I have a reason to go back to Sarasota, I will definitely stay at this motel again.

The property was clean and comfortable, although a bit dated. The area around the hotel also wasn't the best. However, for the price, I think it was a good option.

Also, I was on the first floor, and could hear the people above me walking around. This was disturbing until they went to sleep.

We stayed here for a week on a business trip to the SRQ area. This is your typical contractor hotel( which Im actually ok with) however aside from being dirty it was grossly over priced for what was given.

The continental breakfast was in the lobby and ok but we had to take it back to our rooms because the only seating was outside in the pool area and the mornings were very chilly and the pool only had a table or two. We had to be moved after our first night because there was a leak under the floor boards which was definitely there before we checked in and the a/c didn't not cool. The next room(which was right next store) was better, however there were holes in the walls and ceilings that were spackled but not repainted making the place seem tacking. Finally, the room was very dark and if you opened the window covering it went from the bottom up so everyone who walked by could see right into your room if you had it up. The pool was nice, but not heated and the staff were very nice. As, I said in my initial review of this place, to say for a night or two it's fine, but for a week and for what we paid, it was just ok.

The bedding was very bad and old underneath the new bedspread. The shhets must have been washed with towels as it was very pilled and very rough. They felt so rough it made it difficult to get comfortable. To be fair they were hiring for maids but the floors were dirty and the corners were thick with hair and scum. Not what we were expecting from a Best Western branch. Management seemed nice and they were fixing up the place.

Checked out due to failing equipment (tv stopped working), run down environment, and noise at night. Was not refunded for the remaining 4 nights after check out,

The front door of my room was no more than 50' from busy state road 41. Cars revving their engines and leaving in the middle of the night, room in poor condition, noisy window a/c, paper thin walls; just not a good experience.

The stay was ok, Nice proprietor and other guests but it is an older Motel type property. Hotel is a little old and needs updating but was acceptable and comfortable. I did like the privacy blinds on the window they worked very well. The rooms were noisy and you can hear the neighbors right thru the walls.Location was good for the airport and food too.

Perfect location for accessing downtown Sarasota, Siesta Key, Venice to the south, heading west down University, or borth into Bradenton and Anna Maria island. Management does very good job of keeping hotel and parking areas safe.

The owner was very helpful and the building although it was old, was in very good condition. The area outside the building was very well kept and clean. We would stay again when we come to Sarasota.
