The hotel is praised for its great location, particularly for those visiting the University of Washington. Guests appreciate the unique decor and rooftop bar. However, there are consistent complaints about the thin walls and noise from neighboring rooms. The valet parking is also frequently mentioned as expensive.

the room you had to go through a certain exit which is normally locked that staff has to open (sometimes it takes a minute). Also the parking rate is $50 per day. Plenty of paid street parking a block or two away though

Hotel was old and considered leaving the first night but the rest of the attendees stayed at the hotel and complained about tvs not working, AC not working and still going back and forth with my $15 per day credit.

There was a musty smell and no air circulation in the room. The hotel location is in a bad part of town. I would not even venture down the sidewalk in that area during the day. The rooftop restaurant view was great, but you have to be a patron of the restaurant to go there. The staff was very nice. I checked out the next morning and went elsewhere.

The hotel is very cool and exciting to walk through! So much history! The staff is very kind and helpful. The bedroom was clean, the bathroom was small and had a few hairs when we arrived but was maintained well. The walls are very thin so we could hear our neighbors sometimes but that comes with vintage building. Loved the key cards!!! The coffee shop was great and the bar was amazing too! The valet was kind and helpful as well!! We would definitely come again!

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere I’d definitely stay again. Only downside, only parking onsite available is $55 valet parking. And, I wanted to iron my tank top and as soon as I put the iron on my tank top, it stuck and pulled the fabric off, so I threw the top away. Luckily, I had another but I’ve never had that happen before. Great view from the restaurant also.

The mountaineering club restaurant had exceptional views. The vibe is laid back. It’s incredibly expensive. The parking and fees are very costly and I felt assaulted by a card on the nightstand expressing that I should offer extra money to the cleaning staff. I’m sorry but it was a very expensive stay and I paid for a clean room. Hilton should pay their staff a comfortable wage. It’s not the client’s responsibility. This is a rich corporation that can afford decent salaries.

A very nice sort of boutique hotel which i likely about 100 years old, but retrofitted to fit the "Graduate" theme very well. My parents spent their wedding night in this hotel in 1947, and while it has been upgraded still has the charm of the original building with nice new amenities and a great rooftop bar venue.

Lobby and rooms were fantastic. Love that they have valet parking! Super convenient to the university grounds. Empty lots on both sides made it feel like it's a rough neighborhood, but it's not. Some staff were great - others not so much. Loved that there was a room credit for breakfast at the cafe, but line was super long and limited options.

The Hotel is such a great location for the UW! Great shops and food all in walking distance, too. The Pointdexter cafe that is part of the hotel has wonderful coffees and great healthy breakfast options that were so appreciated! Where to start… the door to our room didn’t lock electronically. We told the front desk about this, but they said they would send somebody up in the morning. Then when we went to go to bed, we shut off the hall light and it actually did not shut off so the light was on light as well. The maintenance man came up the next day and he was very, very nice and fixed electronic lock and also removed the lightbulb from the hall so we wouldn’t have to switch rooms at that point. Meanwhile, it was super hot in our room all three days and nights, because apparently this hotel does not turn on the air until a certain time of the year. The elevators were complete shambles and wouldn’t bring us to our room and I got motion sickness, three times from writing in the elevator for many minutes at a time just trying to get to my floor or my friends floor. It was very frustrating. The rules around the rooftop are weird and annoying. At one point my spouse got in the elevator and it stopped on a floor and a cleaner got on and he said the elevator is going down when she pressed an higher level and she goes… oh. And then uses her key card to make it go up. Like, what the? Also conditioner item in shower was totally empty, there was hair on the shower wall that wasn’t ours and some sort of curios stain on the shower curtain. The hotel is beautiful and great location though. The attention to details and great service is missing.

Rooms were immaculate. There are no refrigerators in the room which seemed odd. The coffee service in the room was a bit lame but there is a great coffee shop attached to the lobby and it opens at 6:30 and you can charge it to your room. The location is perfect especially if you are going to the Neptune theatre for a show. It’s steps away from the Neptune. View of Seattle and the mountains is fabulous. The rooms are appointed like no other hotel room that I’ve been in. Interesting, eclectic yet not cluttered with useless adornments. Art deco. Very comfortable furniture. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows didn’t break your neck. I would definitely stay there again.

Very good location near the University of Washington and the Light rail station. Quiet and nice view of street with some restaurants. Comfortable bed and good bath tab. This is an old (historical) hotel in the U-district. The room telephone was broken and no refrigerator. (They took it out from the cabinet and left the cabinet empty.) I felt that it was expensive. They charge $15 for us to use at the coffee shop, regardless we use or not. If you don't use it, you will just lose $15 for nothing. I would rather not to be charged without choice. I felt "expensive" for these reasons. I would choose other places next time, probably.

Super cool building, not your standard boring hotel (which I love) and we loved the proximity to the Neptune theater. There was only one elevator working for staff and for guests. So when housekeeping needed to get to the different floors, it created quite the headache for guests who were trying to check out, or getting to/from their room during that time. We waited almost 40 minutes trying to get the elevator to our room. It wasn't made clear when we checked in that we would need a reservation for the restaurant on the rooftop, so heads up- you can't just go up there without a staff member sending you up. I think a lot of our troubles were caused by a singular elevator experience, if the property manager fixed that I would have rated it higher. Overall it was a pretty good experience

Beautiful design - the room, the lobby café and rooftop are aesthetically very pleasing The shower was tepid both in the evening and in the morning - My partner (4o years old) was refused service at the hotel bar because his drivers licence was from the UK. That bar was the only reason I had booked the hotel for a valentine's date so I was very frustrated. When I asked for help finding a new place to go, I had to pry recommendations from the staff who initally told me "I don't go out much in Seattle so I don't know". Only one of the elevators worked and on three occasions I waited more than five minutes in front of the elevator to get to my room on the 14th floor.

So we went back to the front desk and asked for soap. Front desk apologized ans said they'd send someone up. We went to dinner, then our show, and returned to our room. Still no soap... so we used body wash (which smelled great BTW) and went to bed. Dissapointing and annoying, but not the worst.

Decent hotel. Good location to the light rail station. Rooms are something between out-dated and charming. Didnt have any issues with noise and was on a high floor. Nice bar with a great view. Overall: recommend but would only return to go to a Washington Huskies game.

The location is great and the vibe is fun. Staff were great when we dropped off luggage before check-in and upon check-in. The staff handling reservations/checking for the rooftop bar were horrible and blocked several hotels guests, us included, from getting in the elevator to go to our rooms after checking in . Apparently it’s more important for groups to get to the bar than hotel guests to be able to go to their rooms?? When checking out messaged the valet for our car to be brought but they still hadn’t seen the message when we arrived 15+ minutes later, I didn’t get a reply to my message for almost an hour, by which time we had already gotten our car and left.

The pictures of the hotel online are far nicer than what you see in person. The person that checked us in offered no information about our stay such as how to get wifi, the restaurant onsite, the cafe, nothing. Basically said here’s your key. The restaurant menu is extremely limited and there wasn’t anything appealing to us. The room decor was strange. There was no microwave, refrigerator or coffee pot, and no fan in the bathroom. Parking is valet only unless you can park on the street, which is very limited. The building is old and has an odor. I expected more for over $200 a night.

Seems like there was a right and a wrong thing to do here, and the wrong thing was done. Bummed.

If you want food from the restaurant, there is not room service and you have to go downstairs and be let up. If the restaurant is busy, they do not let you go up, even to order and bring back to your room. As a paying guest, counting on being able to grab food from my hotel after a long day of work, and being told no, that’s pretty bad customer service.

This was the cutest boutique hotel! Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready when we checked in at 8pm, (5 hours past the 3 pm check in time) due to a "linen shortage". We were told to come back in an hour, Once in our room, it was obvious one of the beds still had not had the sheets changed. There were note papers under the covers and black hairs on the pillowcases. We found 2 fitted sheets and pillowcases in a nearby storage closet and changed them ourselves. When we got in bed, the TV didn't work. Sound but no picture. Called the front desk, but there was no one there to repair it til morning. We were told they couldn't refund us any $ on the room because we had booked through a third party, Expedia. They advertise bikes for use on your stay and even display a cute bike next to the front desk with a sign, but on inquiring about using the bikes, were told that the engineer had shut down the progtam because the bikes weren't safe for riding, with loose spokes and other unspecified mechanical issues. It sure was quaintly decorated, vet disappointingly fell short.

Its an iconic hotel...my parents spent their wedding night there in 1947 and I spent my wedding night there in 1988. The rooms are interesting, and decent size but need a luggage rack and a small refrigerator. The views are fantastic. The biggest problem is the elevator banks. There are only 2, and between the staff which always seemed to be on them and the rooftop bar patrons, it can be quite a wait. It is a very cozy, intimate hotel though, and staff was quite pleasnt.

The Graduate is a cool, stylish choice. It is mostly aimed at a younger crowd (we are in our 40's and were there with our daughter), but we all found it comfortable. The rooftop bar, the Mountaineering Club, is a great place for panoramic views of Seattle. The U District is as central a location as you will find, but be aware that there will be noise on the street at night if you keep your windows open. The Poindexter Cafe downstairs was a great place to grab bagels and coffee in the morning, and street parking for the night was easy to find in the neighborhood.

The good stuff: I liked the quirkiness of the decor of the hotel, and overall it was clean. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar was pretty cool, great views and excellent drinks. I thought the bed was super comfortable, and they had high quality pillows. The light rail is just a block or two away, super convenient! Now for the not so great.. the room only had three working outlets, there were several outlets where the plug didn’t stay in the socket or just straight up didn’t work at all. Theres only one mirror, again not the end of the world but when there’s three girls in the room and limited outlets and one mirror it makes it a bit harder to get ready for the day. There’s no fridge, which I thought it was odd given the price of the room. Lastly, not that this is the hotels doing, but there is a ton of construction and run down buildings right outside the hotel. I didn’t feel unsafe, but it wasn’t amazing to walk out into that either. Overall, the stay was average.

What made the property really unique was the location. Super close to public transit and plenty of walkable shops, restaurants and public spaces. From day 1 the whole experience seemed off. The sheets had a significant hole and some dirt on them - noticeable as soon as we stepped into the room. While it was a king size bed, nothing else matched the description of the room. The other challenge was the TV that didn’t appear to use traditional cable or satellite. Most channels were not available and we used laptops to watch local news in the morning.

I had to run it up the ladder to the assistant GM to find any help at all and then he never called me back. I ended up calling them again a few days later and then they charged me again!!! After all that they said they can see that ive been triple charged and said they woudl refund in a week or so. How does that even happen. They finally refunded after all the run around and did not even offer to comp the egregious $50 parking or anything. Kinda a brutal experience.

This hotel was terrible. The rooms are really old and not maintained. Outlets didn’t work. Pillow cases were torn. Air was really stagnant and Smokey. Front desk staff were nice. No room service. Never got clean towels. Needed more toilet paper and they gave us a used half roll. Roof top bar could have been nice but the outdoor chairs are truly terrible. I have never written a review before and I travel frequently. I had to write a review on this hotel. The area (U district) is very run down and getting worse but clearly not the Hilton’s responsibility and has no control of this. Sadly, Hilton is also clearly not putting resources into this hotel as I am guessing the continued economic decline of this area is putting this hotel in the red. That said, don’t stay here. Stay at the Stay Pineapple a few blocks away. Much better hotel.

We really wanted to like this hotel, but just didn’t. First, the good: really close to UW and the link, front desk staff was friendly and helpful even with unreliable internet making their job much harder. Also, the Mountaineering Club on the top floor was fun- but awkwardly found out as hotel guests, even with table reservations, you can’t just go up there, you have to go down to the lobby to have someone use the secret elevator card pass to get you there. The first floor coffee shop has good coffee and sandwiches but at times can be understaffed and out of many food items. The lobby is spacious and nice to sit and work. The bad: Hilton needs to put significant money into upkeep. While the hotel is supposed to feel nostalgic and classic- it just feels tired and old and like you’re staying at Disney’s Hollywood Tower of Terror Hotel. I think I can feel what this hotel once used to be, and it was very cool. Literally everything needed attention- long extension cords serving as outlets in the rooms, missing artwork on the walls leaving only their hardware and scratch marks from where they once were. Walls in need of painting, carpets in need of deep cleaning, furniture needs repaired, elevators need servicing. It’s all livable and relatively clean but disappointing. We only required one day of housekeeping in our 4 night stay and we returned to find our tip gone, dirty towels taken but not replaced but nothing else done- trash still full, beds unchanged.
