    For the amount of $400 a night you expect at least the room to be clean. The room was dirty with mold and very bad conditions. The staff was very help they even refund partial of my stay but the hotel needs real maintenance.

    Location The hotel was clean and comfortable. The issue we had was that there was a party in an event room on the 12th floor and we were on the 11th floor. The party was so loud we could not sleep the first night. Very disappointing. We will not return to this hotel.

    I usually enjoy staying at the DoubleTree Hotel and have had great experiences in the past, which is why this visit was a little disappointing. During our stay, the water was turned off, which caused a major inconvenience for us. It made it difficult to shower after our event and get ready for bed. I understand that issues can happen, but it would have been appreciated if there had been better communication before booking or accommodations provided. Hoping future stays are back to the standard I’m used to from DoubleTree

    Bathtub and bedding were not clean. Tub had a black ring. Water was standing to the ankle during shower. Maintenance came 3x before shower was unclogged, My daughter pulled out hair from drain. There was black stuff in tub and wall after maintenance came for the 4th time. Hotel was booked could not move to another room.

    It also took an incredible amount of time to check in. Later while we were laying in bed I noticed a strong cigarette smell. I called the front desk and was put on hold for 15 minutes. I could hear the lady checking in guest after guest after guest. She never acknowledged me again. I could also hear her offering guests water, discounted breakfast and more for the inconvenience of no water. We were not offered the same. The wall were incredibly thin and we could hear our neighbor blaring the TV. Do better DoubleTree. Hire people that care.

    Also, the cleaning staff were helpful and nice. professional. The room update is very good. I had stayed here a few years ago before the renovation -- now it is much nicer. Thoughtful touches throughout: good coffee pods for the in-room coffee, and all day hot water for tea downstairs, and a small refrigerator in the room. Bed mattress could be firmer, but it was okay. I did not rent a car this time so it was convenient that the restaurant is downstairs. Rooms are very clean, with a pleasant, modern styling. . All in all, a clean, quiet, comfortable base during my trip.

    Check-in was lacklustre and staff didn’t make me feel welcome. Room was clean but there was a drink ring on the side table, a partial rubber glove on the bathroom floor (at least I hope it was) and there was no sugar only sweetener for the coffee. Very cumbersome to get on the wifi if you’re not a Hilton Honours member. Lesser hotels offer free wifi with less hassle. The gift center snacks were outrageous with a small child size bag of chips priced at $8. Overall not impressed with this Hilton.

    Overall, it is a very nice place to stay, but the climate control machinery in the room was not functional. It had a blower and a thermostat but no control to go from heat to cool and no apparent read on current temperature in the room. A bit stuffy as a result but the window was openable, so that helped.

    Actually one of my favorite hotel stays so far. The staff was great. The room was excellent for the price i paid. The cookies were delicious and the beds were so comfy! If i didn't have to work that next day i would have stayed another night. I dont normally have anything to say about a hotel stay because its normally an average experience but this was above average and i think this will be my goto for hotel stays. 10/10 will stay again.

    DoubleTree by Hilton was absolutely beautiful! The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. My family and I drove Down from Milwaukee. When we arrived, the concierge was very helpful and prompt with checking us in. He also gave us some nice warm cookies as he greeted us. We arrived a bit late so we asked if we could do a late check out the next morning. The concierge couldn't give us a guaranteed answer, but did everything she could to make that happen for us. It was the effort she put in to accommodate us.. She was great! I would definitely book there again. Thank you guys for everything!

    In my room, there were little black hairs on the table tops, in the drawer and on bathroom counter. Desk area had hardened spillage...looks like nobody wiped down the room surfaces at all. Hallways of my floor were littered with gum wrapper and sugar packets and look like they hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. Staff was at least nice enough to change rooms or offer complimentary breakfast.

    One big plus is the location and the myriad of amenities nearby - either shop or restaurants. What we didn’t like as a family of four with young kids was the big party that was thrown in the hotel during our stay, as we could feel the sound vibration even though we were on the 10th floor. Rooms are also not soundproofed

    Love this hotel. Only stayed for a long weekend but was very happy. Clean rooms, staff were always friendly and very approachable. The only negative was that the room did not have a microwave. Centrally located to everything. Shopping and food were within walking distance. Also, I recommend that you download the App. Keyless entry and check in was so convenient. Highly recommend.

    Check in was fast, easy, and friendly. Room- makeup was on the bathroom door. Ironing board was broke and we were never brought a new one that we asked for. The mattress was terrible and needs an update. Mattress was very worn and not firm at all. I’ve stayed at other Hilton locations and the mattress was great, so I expected more.

    Parking was such a hassle. The whole parking lot was always full since they are inbetween a theater & a bank. Always took us 30min to wait for a parking space. Would not recommend

    This hotel needs a lot of help with customer service, our traveller had an emergency and checked out early, front desk said it was fine and two nights would be refunded, hotel is now back tracking and stating they wont refund.... we put a hundred room nights in this hotel every year, what a terrible way to treat your clients!

    We put travelers here all the time, but the service here is less to be desired. One of our travelers checked out early as her father was airlifted to the hosptial, agent at check out said two nights would be refunded, never refunded, and have been chasing a manager ever since. we book 5000+ nights a year, this hotel is by far the worst to deal with. please get this resolved

    The room was a time warp from 20 years ago--dated rug and furniture, grey dingy color, extension cords connecting everything. Room phone didn't work, no hair dryer, no fan in bathroom, fridge was not plugged in/turned on and we didn't know if it worked. This was not Hilton quality or a $200. per night room. However, the employees were nice and efficient. I booked it because it was close to our business in town. I would never return. Disappointed bearing the Hilton name. Ron S

    The hotel was average. The carpets in our room were really dirty and all the shampoo, conditioner and soap bottles were empty. We had to ask for more towels and toilet paper since there weren’t enough for the people staying in the room. The front desk also took a while to answer although everyone was real nice.

    Bathroom very small, room has a super old AC on the wall, no fan, it felt very stuffy, I had hard time to breathe, requested a room change, but all rooms are same. You can’t open window, can’t get fresh or clean air. Room is very clean and staff was nice, I was just disappointed with the property and room, booked for four nights, but only stayed three, as I can’t deal with the poor air quality in the room.

    DoubleTree-Hilton in Skokie, IL. Filthy, i.e. stained carpets throughout facility, roach on someones room door threshold, and 1st room. Hilton should NOT put their name on this facility. Late when we got in. Lobby had empty cups throughout and leaves on carpets. Get to room and immediately need to shower after travel. Got all my stuff unpacked before inspecting room. Big mistake! Shower had hair on walls, tile on bathroom floor has never seen bleach. It was black (white grout everywhere you don't need to stand.). White towels are all different colors of white and old stained. Then, noticed toom carpets were filthy. Pulled back comforter and someone had eaten in the bed! Packed up & went to desk. Moved rooms. 2nd room, same bathroom floor situation. Closet door had gray/black hand smudges (Let's hope.). Shattered glass near nighstand that daughter stepped on. That's how we found it. 2am & Exhausted, so stayed in room. Next morning, front desk said they'd get management to speak to us. Never happened. Stayed 5 days because there was nowhere to move to. Pay for Motel6 get Motel6. Understandable. Pay for DoubleTree-Hilton, still get Motel6. Unjustified for the cost of a DoubleTree- Hilton! They did adjust the bill...slightly! Never again.

    Abysmal. There was an event at the hotel the second night and the disco beat music went on for 4 hours shaking the room and noise!!! They offered to change our room. Sent husband to view to see if noise would be better and it was filthy unmade beds and dirty towels. Each customer service agent promised us something else and nothing was done. We requested a refund. And they all point to each other. No one got back to Expedia either. Horrible customer service. Shame on them.

    The front desk staff were nice but there was usually only one person working. We stayed for 4 nights and never saw a person cleaning any of the rooms. I tried to ask a woman I saw pushing around a large 4 wheeled garbage cart in the hallway for toilet paper but she said she didn't speak English. The lobby was often littered with food and trash. There was always a lot of people mulling around outside and the police were there twice during our stay. The room was not very clean, the air-conditioning vent had a lot of debris, lint, garbage inside and the bathroom had dirt on the side of the counter and sink.The concession area near the lobby was never taken care of. The first day it looked good but everyday after was never restocked or cleaned. No one ever even asked how our stay was until I received a chance to review. Very disappointing for a Hilton, will not be going back.

    I usually stay at Embassy Suites hotels; also part of the Hilton group. I thoroughly enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool at this location, as it was a super hot day.The room was okay. Bed way too soft for my tastes, though. My back needs a little support. The bathroom, while clean, was very cramped. Toilet seat needs tightening, because when you sit down it moves. I thought it odd that the desk in the room did not feature a pen and small writing pad (usually adorned with the hotel chain’s logo. Had to go down to the front desk for that. The dinner we had at Jameson’s Charhouse (located on the hotel premises), was definitely subpar. Very bland fettuccine, I thought. Last, but not least, the hotel grounds—were unkept and definitely in need of trimming at in the front entrance. Like I said, okay standard type hotel, probably a 2-star by European Standards.

    Upon arrival we got no instructions on what elevator to take. There are two different elevators for different sections of the hotel . We were confused and had to go back again and ask. I think the desk clerk was new since he didn’t explain anything to us. The toilet was hard to flush and was brown and rusty on the bottom.

    We liked it was a short distance to the L train station to go into Chicago. Great food and shopping all around. Very nice accommodations, beds are comfortable. A nice warm chocolate chip cookie was given when we checked in too, a nice surprise. We would stay here again.

    Staff was fantastic, Decor nice. Room was stuffy when we walked in, the sheets were so wrinkled it made you question if they were washed, bedding for pullout bed smelled really bad. The floor in the restaurant was dangerously unsafe and uneven. I tripped and almost fell flat but manage not to hit the floor and my husband tripped as well.

    large facility with good amenities. Location is convenient if you have a car. Property seemed well maintained but 1 of 3 elevators was broken and a second elevator kept losing power and had to make express movement to lobby level on multiple occasions. Hotel staff was pleasant.

    Because of this, we chose not to use the sink for the rest of our stay. There was no follow-up from staff or confirmation that anyone had come to address the issue, which was disappointing. Overall, the hotel was okay, but this maintenance issue and the lack of communication definitely impacted our experience. Hopefully they take these concerns more seriously in the future.

    The room was nice, but the bathroom size and layout were awkward and tight. The sliding shower doors appeared to be installed backwards, with handles positioned in a way that made it difficult to open and squeeze past the corner of the miniscule sink to get in.
