Best Western Plus Sparks-Reno Hotel

The bed was comfortable was clean, but had an unpleasant odor. Nice shower. No frills. No shower cap, etc. Inconsistent towel quality. Not sure why it was a BW plus, as the room was spartan and the hotel seemed understaffed.

I'd love to see more hours for the pool and hot tub since the fitness is 24/7. They could use better air filtration for rooms and hallways so the pet smell isn't like walking in a dog pound or pet store. Some staff are either new or not trained and could use a mentor who they get answers from before providing the wrong answers to guests.

The room, smelling like pets wasn't nearly as bad as the hallway. We used our own spray to remove the smell. It's strange that the 1st two days you entered the building it's beautiful until you get off the elevator to the room floor. I would expect the same details of cleaning throughout using the same cleaning supplies. The only other areas of concern are the shower you need to be in in order to turn on so you freeze or burn yourself because of the door set-up or the large hot tub that could have used more jets back and ankle height for the travler. The staff were great.

Check in was a nightmare. They couldn’t find my second room that I had reserved. Didn’t want my confirmation numbers that I had, wouldn’t just give us a second room, then after almost a half hour, they finally “found” it. Then, they were “sold out” and couldn’t put us anywhere near each other.

The inside was very clean. The out side was dated and didn’t look very nice as we pulled up. We had a room right next to the elevator. We were worried it would be load. Didn’t hear it at all. Was surprised. Shower was nice. No tub. Bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was okay.

Funny experience, guy at counter when checking in said, “oh you guys are staying more than one night, we have this new feature”. We were thinking oh cool when he pointed that they would not be making up the room, changing towels, or emptying garbage. We got quite the laugh as he made it sound like that was a perk for them to do less. He was nice and said they could if we requested right then. My wife’s recreation of the biblical flood increased our difficulty but it worked out. Overall a good stay, the breakfast place was actually really good.

I thought this place was very quiet and comfortable. The bedding was comfortable and being next to a freeway I was afraid it was going to be loud, but it was very quiet.

Room service was not on demand, had to be scheduled a day in advance. Water had to be refilled by going down to floor 1. A general sense of hostility from the reception desk prevailed throughout the stay. More like a motel experience than a hotel.

1) pass door btween adjoining suites was not sound proofed. Sounded like a hollow core door that ransmitted all noise from a party with guests till 3:30 am. And a sex bout at 5;30 with all the sounds transmitted through

We liked having a restaurant next door, and the food was good. The breakfast lacked fresh food--I especially like something green. That said, the front desk offered an array of breakfast snacks and abundance of fresh fruit.

The shuttle service was an unexpected perk. We really appreciated it. The drivers were really solid.

We loved having breakfast in the Gambi restaurant it was very unique and entertaining space. The selection of food was very good. Eggs, sausage , pastries, juice, coffee, all the basics. The eggs were cold, they may stay warmer in an all-metal chafer dish instead of one with a plastic roll back lid. Otherwise, tasted good.

It was beautiful on the inside, the lobby, the rooms. The area was nice on the outside, limited parking but overall great experience. It had a clean atmosphere and it was a great place. There were no dislikes.

Kind of round about way to get to hotel, In Industrial area and on a Interstate. Hotel itself was good, quiet, clean and staff helpful. If you didn't want to eat there, other places within a mile of hotel. Overall, a good place to stay.

However, my only complaint was that the pool and hot tub were closed and this was not disclosed when I booked the room. The temperature in Reno when we stayed was high 80s/low 90s so we were disappointed about that. Overall it was a nice stay for the price point. Would I stay again? Yes, but after May once the pool and hot tub are open.

The staff is friendly the moment you arrive and the shuttle to and from the airport were a godsend. The walls are a little thin and I could hear the freeway at night but the room is clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a nice touch.

Ran out of towels and many construction workers that brought woman not great for families. For adults ok

Very nice hotel. The facility is new and room is good. The swimming pool is closed. Its not quite noisy although the room is facing to the highway. The shower head is too low for men.

New Year’s Eve, we were not there to celebrate, but to catch an early flight in the morning.

This was my third visit to this hotel and the good experience didn't change. My room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. I would stay here again.

Front desk check in was less then hospitable and I must have felt that correctly because our last night I had to return to front desk because our key card did not work the gentleman on shift let us in at 11:15. Carpet was stained and desk lamp went out day one.

Room was great. Carpet where it should be and tile where it should be, and coffee, frig and micro. Very comfy bed and many pillows which were appreciated. Great view from upper floor. There was an odd noise that was never figured out. It was loud enough to be annoying, at many different times of day and night, and traveled "in the wall, about a 6ft. span". A vibration type noise. I specifically requested a tub for my cousin, which was in the room. However, there was no spout to fill the tub, so she was very disappointed. I forgot to check to see if there was any type of plug for the bathtub. Free hot breakfast was appreciated. Didn't realize there is a restaurant on property; we tried it twice. Won't go back. Pricey, limited menu. Other options close by. Traffic noise wasn't an issue because of the room orientation. I would stay here again.

I booked a queen suite but when I arrived I was given a double queen room. I called down to the desk and was told that because I booked thru hotels dot com there was nothing they could do. My grandkids had to sleep on the floor.

We chose this particular hotel because we were traveling with our dog. Daisy checked us in and was wonderfully professional and friendly. We got a King Suite on the top floor and the room was very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. We actually had dinner in our room for three nights ordering from the Gambi’s restaurant menu. The food was an excellent value and surprisingly delicious. The hotel was very pet friendly and my little dachshund seemed to enjoy himself very much! Everyone at the hotel were friendly and helpful! There is a coffee machine in the the lobby where you can get anything from a regular cup of Joe to a latte or espresso. The latte was delicious by the way. There was also fresh fruit, fruit cups and granola bars all complimentary. The breakfast was a buffet with a variety of items located in Gambi’s restaurant. I was a little disappointed that you couldn’t order breakfast from the menu but it was satisfying nonetheless. Overall, this will be our go-to hotel whenever traveling with our dog!

We stayed in a King Suite and it was very spacious. We brought our dog with us and they were very pet friendly. The room was very clean and contemporary. Bed was very comfortable and climate control was excellent. We ate three days in a row at Gambi’s restaurant. Excellent food and value!

To sum it up everything is good but the complimentary breakfast.The breakfast they use to have was perfect.The new complimentary breakfast is terrible.They basically just set everything out and leave it plus they dont have half the items the other breakfast had.Get rid of the restaurant.Terrible customer service.

The hotel was a lot better than I expected.

The king suits are the most amazing rooms! There is a king bed and a tv in one area with a sliding door that opens to a dining, living room type area with a pull out bed and another tv. Lots of room for pets/kids. Very comfortable beds, and we loved the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. We have stayed twice now and it’s our new go to for Reno trips.

We liked the easy access. We stopped on our way home from a visit to Utah. The room was clean, most things were in good condition. Parking was convenient and we could see our car from the window of our room. The A/C filter popped out and we couldn't get it back in. The shower door wouldn't stay closed and kept sliding open. However, we reported it and they will fix it. The onsite restaurant was convenient. We had a very good dinner in the evening and breakfast the next morning. We would definitely go back.

The clerk could not find our reservation in their system. She kept going back and forth between the Expedia site and theirs, but could not find a record. I showed her my printed confirmation. When we inquired if they had rooms, she said yes, but that we had paid through a third party vendor--suggesting that I would need to pay them for a room. At that point I asked to see the manager. The manager found the reservation and we were successfully checked in. However, it took us 20 minutes of watching her go back and forth muttering to herself before the manager was summoned and the issue resolved.

Everything was fine. We wanted to eat breakfast the morning of our departure, not the continental breakfast, but were told the restaurant was short staffed and unable to offer the breakfast menu. We ate the continental breakfast. It was like most others, so-so. No lids for the awfully hot coffee.

Room excellent, nice hotel, easy check-in. Breakfast lacking attention: zero staff for the 45 minutes we were there. Empty coffee, no cups, no spoons.

The handicap rooms are not ADA compliant. The doorways are not 36 in. The shower opens backwards, likely causing scalding of a handicapped person if they could get in the bathroom? Even in the bathroom there is not room for a wheelchair and the commode. filing an ADA complaint for the DOJ to investigate and resolve

It is the first best Western property. I’ve stayed at in well over 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised. Me and my staff will be back another time. J

The hotel was clean, updated, quiet and well maintained. The restaurant inside the hotel, was not staffed well, and the food was overpriced for what you got. We did not opt to eat there for breakfast after our diner experience the night before.

We were so pleased our dog was welcomed by staff! The coffee in the lobby was really good, which surprised us because we are kind of picky about our coffee! The room temperature was a little tough to regulate; it responded to settings, but would get too cool, then too hot during the night for my husband, waking him. On our 4th day, we requested housekeeping for the last night, but we were told there were staffing issues, so we couldn't get fresh sheets/towels. We settled for just a coffee pod restock. That seemed unfortunate for a room costing well over $200. But overall, the location was perfect for us, and the bed was super comfortable. Also, the shower was wonderful--- hot and powerful!

The property was nice. The room was very comfortable. There is only one restaurants and the food was terrible. For a property that is pet friendly, there really should be an enclosed dog run and not just the grass area off the freeway which is too noisy and distracting for dogs who are out of their comfort zone. There was a nice grass area by the pool which should be gated for dog use.

We stay here when we are in Reno whenever we are going to a concert at GSR. It is much more convenient for my handicapped husband than trying to navigate the Casino and Hotel. There is also a Dennys just down the street which is great when we are starved after a concert. The hotel does offer a shuttle but we have not used this option.

Great place to stop for the night while traveling or to stay a few days and enjoy the area. It’s an older hotel, but very well maintained and clean. The staff does a great job keeping everything in good shape. Prices are affordable, and free parking is a nice bonus. The pool and hot tub are basic but clean and well-kept. My only small complaint is the free breakfast—it’s a little weak, but it’s enough to get you through to lunch, and hey, it’s free. I’ve stayed here several times and will definitely stay again.

Our suite was very roomy with plenty of space even with only one bathroom which was very large as well. Only suggestion is there was only one hook between the entire two rooms and the bathroom. Needs to have more hooks on the walls and in the bathroom

I have stayed at Best Western in the past, excellent expense. I was disappointed that they did not have breakfast in the morning. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel now, but the buffet was not worth the money charging for it. I enjoyed the breakfast when Best Western provided it.

I’m a travel nurse and arrived late

I liked the fact that they had nire than one handicap parking spot, that you could go in the front door or go in and out of the back door with your keycard. I liked the convenience of a restaurant on site, however the restaurants portion sizes were on the small side and over priced for the amount of food u got.

Front desk at check in said breakfast was at six which is true except on Saturday which is 7:00. I went to the breakfast lounge at 6:00 and the breakfast staff was very rude and upset because I didn’t have the right time. Other than that, the place was great and the staff member that delivered to our room that night was so nice! Would stay again, now knowing the proper times for dining.

I booked this hotel solely based on the fact that it had the highest customer rating for the price range. I'm glad I booked it. It was clean and perfect for just a one-night stay because we weren't looking for anything fancy, just in town for a soccer tournament. The food at the restaurant was good. The pool was closed, but we did not care, so if you do care about that, maybe just check before booking.

Dated but clean, our room was a suite very large semi kitchenette appliances were scattered because of outlets. Room needed more lighting. Sheets and pillows a little funky smelling Served its purpose Airport was close we were flying out.

This property is very good and could be better if the hot tub and pool were not winterized also the breakfast could be better.

Breakfast is terrible only frozen products.

Everything was wonderful with the exception of being in a room on the 3rd floor located next to some type of equipment that was making a loud vibrating noise during our entire 1 night stay. Needless to say this was extremely annoying. We didn't hear the vibration other places in the hotel.

Shower not work good. Hot water not enough hot. The breakfast so bad so cheap…

The main reason I will not stay here again is the very noisy environment, there are large trucks nearby idling all night long, impossible to sleep.

When i walked through the entrance i noticed how clean it smelled. Igot up to the counter and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I was even more impressed when i got tothe room. Ir qas very clean, smelled good and looked great. Overall 5 out of 5 in every aspect of my stay.

The room was spacious, nice and clean. Did not like the breakfast.

But Airport Transportation or drop you anywhere close can be anytime. Inpaid everything through Expedia and when I checked they said they need my card for security hold. After checkout I mafe them sure them to refund the hold. But 3 days later I was charge $294 again. And I had to call my credit card company to dispute and called the hotel for refunding that. I give them 2 stars because of all of these. Just for the transportation.

Staff at the Check in desk in the morning was not very efficient but I appreciate her efforts. The shuttle to and from the airport was amazing. But you have to load your own luggage...FYI. Overall, nice place and would stay here again. Happy to give it a second chance.

Loved it. The only issue was I had to step in the bath to turn the water on. However the room was clean and spacious. The staff was great.

The hotel was excellent. Very comfortable and convenient. I wished that there was more choices as far as breakfast was concerned but it was very nice looking and peaceful.
