For people who use a walker, the access between hotel, casino and parking areas was easy to manage. The staff in the café was helpful, pleasant and many food options.

Sparks Western Village Inn & Casino by the Marina was a great location for us to stay and visit our family who live in Sparks. The three restaurants on site served delicious meals. We enjoyed walking along the well kept Marina, too!

The diner was pretty busy in the morning but the portions were very impressive. Parking was odd but we found spaces open on the back side.

I always like staying here whenever I need to stay in Reno. They have the best rates and the rooms are nice. I got a marina view this time which was awesome! I am a solo, female traveler and I feel totally safe staying here. I highly recommend it

Very beautifully appointed room with comfy beds. Maid service was excellent. Very friendly staff. Breakfast (not free) at the casino’s restaurant was wonderful and tasty. I liked that the hotel is separate from the casino and its smoke smell.

Finding the property once we exited the freeway wasn’t a problem, but finding where to check-in was, as it was not well marked. Turned out, the registration desk is inside the casino by the entrance. Once we got to our room, I was quite pleasantly surprised at how well-kept the room was. Nice fixtures, spacious shower, and comfortable bed. I’ll definitely consider Western Village the next time I need a place to stay in the Reno area.

They put me in a handicap room which was filthy and smelled like urine. I’ve stayed at Western Village dozens of times over the years and this was definitely not normal.

I love the Western Village and feel very at home there. It isn't huge or fancy, but it is clean and safe and I've stayed there multiple times with my dog. The beds are comfortable and the linens are nice. I love the convenience of the restaurants in the casino and the consistent high quality of the 24/7 food. There is no room service, so a short walk to pick up food is required, but worth it.

I always stay here because it is so very nice. I had the most wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay and an incredibly fun Casino!!

I have penned several reviews to rate the Western Village Inn and Casino. We stay there often. Here is another one. The place is clean. It's a bit on the old side, but it definitely is clean. They have done some upgrades and we have noticed that. It's a good thing. Security is great. They do have amenities, but those are just the routine and regular ones which you would expect no matter where you rent. Parking is abundant, and immediately adjacent to a wonderful experience at the Sparks Marina. A fantastic 77 acre lake. The walk around the lake is 2 miles. Birds, squirrels, ducks, geese, you name it. Critters galore. And the people enjoying it are super friendly. Lots of them walking, running, bicycling, women pushing strollers with babies. It truly is a fantastic experience. For us the best part is you can get by on about half the money it would cost to stay in Reno. You can avoid the resort fee, which is now somewhere between $40-$50 per night, depending upon the hotel you stay at. We use that money to enjoy restaurant food. The Western Village Inn & Casino has multiple food choice options. We are hooked on Pancho & Willies, a Mexican food restaurant at the hotel. Super good food with humongous portions. The only complaint I have about this stay was the internet. It was spotty at best. I was a bit disappointed with that. I had intended to work one afternoon, but I had to punt that idea. It's the only time it has happened. It's not a deal breaker. I will be back, for sure.

We got a wheelchair accessible room and really appreciated that the door to the room didn’t automatically close on its own; little things like that make a big difference! There was, however, a bit of a bump going into the bathroom. Other than that, it was great!

This is a nice hotel. It is very basic, not in a bad way. The rooms look a better in the photos than in reality, but it was clean and quiet. The worst part was check in which is inside the casino building. It was very loud and hard to hear the front desk person. That said, there is plenty of parking, it was clean, and the rooms could use some updates.

Honestly, I was disappointed. I know that the price was definitely reflected on the room itself. You get what you pay for. There was a weird smell throughout the entire building, and got stronger in the room. The entire hotel needs a renovation and refresher. The staff was rather rude at check in. Not some place I’ll be staying again.

Room was spacious and had several surfaces allowing for baggage to be off the floor. Room was clean and well supplied with coffee, waters, etc. Bathroom had convenient toiletries and water was hot almost immediately. We had a nice stay.

We were really disappointed at the restaurants - the food was just bad from the coffee /pizza bar to Bellinis to the Mexican restaurant. All of the Staff we encountered were very welcoming & helpful so this is not a reflection on service at all.

After running water for 5 minutes, it never became hot! Very lukewarm only. No other complaints. Bed and pillows comfortable.

Western Village Inn is a good budget conscious choice for Reno. If you're looking for full resort amenities go to the big brother operation at the Peppermill but if all you want is a clean room at affordable prices, decent meals and easy access to Reno this fills the bill. As a plus it sits right on the the Sparks Marina which offers a nice place to walk and is family friendly. If gambling is your thing this is an all-slots casino which seems to be the trend nowadays. Comfortable, clean, reasonable rates, easy access, no frills and best of all no resort fee.

No issues with the hotel itself, seems run down and painted over. My keys stopped working while I was checking out. Water pressure was excellent. Nothing around it. Felt like everything had a curfew.

An ok place to stay for one night when coming to Sparks for a concert. The main frustration was our room not being available on time. When getting ready for a concert and wanting dinner prior, we had to rearrange our plans because our room was not ready when it was suppose to be. The room itself is nice, however you can hear the people above you just walking around, so if you are a light sleeper, that would be a problem

Its an older property that's been "fairly" well maintained. We were expecting more since it's a Peppermill property. The room was clean but the finish was old, the outlet and light swith in the bathroom is off kilter, even though it's non smoking, still smells of smoke. If it was less expensive per night it would be a better value, but not at $200/night.

The rooms look a bit dated, however they were impeccably clean and in good condition. The shower was amazing! Beds were very comfortable too. It's a non-smoking hotel, however guests don't seem to be respecting that requirement as it always had a significant smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay for budget minded people. Clean rooms, good amenities and friendly staff members!

The advertised free internet was not working. They told me when the hotel is full the internet will not handle the trafic so nothing they can do. I had to drive to find a hotspot and set in my car to get a report out. Their IT person told me this has been going on for a long time. If i knew this i would not have booked here.

This place is like a step or two above motel 6, the casino was neat and the room was nice but you definitely get what you pay for. The whole residence area smells like the typical Reno cigarette smell. Unfortunately my shower wasn’t working when I got there also and by the time I found out it was the middle of the night after my shift. Place is a 7/10

The property has always been run down in every way. However, every room I’ve stayed in here has been very clean and comfortable. I loved my stay last night. This place has cleaner and nicer rooms than some of the higher end hotels in the area. If they would take the same price in the rest of the property that they do with their rooms they could easily be a top destination for the area.

This stay was for 1 night, a midweek overnight in-between travel for business and pleasure. I'd prebooked a lake view room with king bed, which turned out to be a really good thing as the hotel was full on this Wednesday night. BTW, lake view rooms have to be above the 1st floor, so if you want ground floor, don't request lake view. The room was fantastic, spacious and very clean, with a really comfortable bed and large, full pillows. Obviously remodeled recently, and done nicely. The bathroom in this one was shower only, which is our preference anyway; as this is an older property (hence the remodeling), the bathroom is pretty small, but everything was clean and up to date. On a side note, we loved the original Peppermill orange-scented soap and lotion and shampoo; nostalgic and appreciated. Small touches are great. The room has a foyer, with open closet on one side and a small table with Keurig coffee maker, bottled water and coffee supplies... also much appreciated as so many hotels provide bottled water for a price, and these were free. Spouse had a meeting, so I wandered through the casino and ended up having dinner in the coffee shop, where service and meal were both great. There's a top-notch steakhouse on this property that is amazing, elegant atmosphere and ++++ service and food, but be prepared for a higher bill. There's also a highly rated Mexican restaurant, and a gelato bar close by. This is not your typical casino hotel, but the casino is large and always busy.

Overall a great stay. We did have one incident with the police with a customer down the ball that was a bit of a distraction, but the hotel managed the situation with class. Comfortable beds and nice rooms. When I checked out I got my $100 deposit back within a couple hours. So that was sweet (not promising similar results for you just to clarify, but maybe!)

It was my mistake. I thought this was the regular Peppermill Hotel. The front staff checking me in was not very friendly. The place is ok for the price. But I rather pay more and stay at the regular Peppermill Hotel which I have stayed before. The restaurant was great and friendly staffs.

Well, I was very surprised to find that this older hotel was really nice. I was pleased with the check in, the staff and the room was in amazing condition. Very roomy and clean, and the cleaning staff was great too. I was pleased that I had a coffee maker, coffee, and bottled water all included with the room. The staff refilled my favorite coffee daily as well as the bottled water. Parking was free, and convenient as well. And safety doors to get into the hallways. There were 2 things that I was not happy about and one being no microwave, and the other had nothing to do with the staff, just the noise from a barking dog. All in all, I will stay there again and do recommend this hotel.

This was my second trip that included a stay at this hotel. The first trip we had a few issues, but this last one was pretty good. The Internet still really sucks, but the room is clean and I had no complaints. Thankfully we had a hotspot!

If you are a light sleeper I suggest you pay the extra $20 a night to be on the Marina side. The Casino side has a super busy parking lot between the rooms and the Casino. The windows are 25 y.o. and they allow all the car / truck noise through till 3 am. I could hear muffled conversations. I'm a shoulder sleeper and prefer a softer mattress. Like alot of casino hotels the W/V has a very firm mattress that didn't really agree with me. However, they did provide 4 large - fluffy pillows. I will stay here again b/c the price point is great for a safe very clean room. But next time I will pay the extra to have my room on the marina side

The room was supposed to be non smoking room and I smelled cigarettes the whole time I was there. It was coming from the a/c unit itself I think. By the time my 6 day stay was up I felt sick from breathing that smell and it affected my sinus. Besides that my stay was fine.

There are three things that should be noted, the mattress in my room was worn out and very uncomfortable, sleeping on a worn out mattress for two nights in a row is not a pleasant experience. Second, the casino parking bleeds over into the motel parking and makes getting a spot even remotely close to the motel entrance a fantasy, even the handicap parking was full. Lastly, the $100 dollar security deposit takes several days to be returned to your account and honestly, with modern banking practices, the wait shouldnt be this long and the deposit itself is simply unnecessary. Even with these three issues, this motel is still a decent option, the pricing is great, the staff are always friendly and the mattresses are "usually" comfortable. The location is also a plus, there is easy on off access to the interstate. If they could address the three issues I mentioned, I would give it a five star review without hesitation.

Room was clean and smelt good. Heard a lot of creaking from upstairs this time that we didn’t hear last time. Oh yeah and the shower pressure on 2nd floor was not as good as we experienced on 1st floor. Definitely recommend a first floor room if that’s your thing.

Despite the general high rating from customers, I found this hotel quite average in almost every aspect across the board. Cleanliness was average. Appearance and size were average. Amenities were run of the mill. It was like a Motel 6 that wasn’t too run down. Not bad but not great either.

Room was fine. Staff kept us waiting. We booked a disability room for my husband, who is 100% disabled vet with a scooter. They said they had no disability rooms available. After 30 + minutes finally gave us one. Should not have kept us waiting that long.

The consistency; room appeared to be recently redone, bed and furnishings were comfortable, restaurants were excellent, staff was friendly and happy, and though smoking is allowed in the casino that was the only place we smelled it and it wasn’t bad.

Only drawback was that even though we asked for a nonsmoking room & was in one, we could still smell smoke quite a few times especially in the entrance way of the room. Wish it was like in VA where all public buildings are non-smoking. Good possibility that if we come out to Reno again, we would stay here again.

Only gripe is there's only 1 very small elevator for the hotel with a small corridor while you wait & check in across the parking lot inside the casino was a little strange. Parking for check in was full since it's inside the casino. On a busy weekend, just park over on the hotel side and walk over. Parking will be on the other side of the hotel building, not the casino side. Where the lake side is. Well lit parking, walking trail to take dog potty, they provide potty bags and trash cans for pick up, convenient location to drive to store & food. We will stay here every time we come through Reno as long as they keep their best rates. $25/ nt for pet was better than most. Reason we booked here in the first place! Glad we did.

The room smelled like marijuana really bad. Just walking into the building you could smell it. I know it’s legal here but you shouldn’t be able to smoke it in the building. Staff could walk in and smell it right away.

When I arrived for check-in the desk clerk informed me that I was moved from a king to two queens. When I complained she informed me that because I had booked with a third party rather than directly with the property my reservation was not guaranteed. After standing my ground I was assigned to a king room. The rate I paid was very low so I will keep this short. The wifi was terrible, almost impossible to stay connected. The building was supposed to be non-smoking but it wreaked of cigarettes. The clientele appeared to be very seedy. I cannot recommend this place. There are way too many places in Reno that would have been better. Wish I had stayed in the Legends area.

The room was nice and comfortable. The only thing it lacked was a comfortable chair. It didnt even have a real desk chair. Had to sit on the bed or in a straight back hard chair not comfortable. It was clean and convenient. Shower was great. Price was good.

Our room was clean and nice. I had mentioned to the desk we were coming for my husbands surgery, and they put us fairly close to the door and on the first floor! Unfortunatly I got sick and we had to cancel the rest of our trip. They were so helpful and kind while canceling for me. We will stay again.

Room was clean. It's a casino. I saw the 4 stars but forgot to think about the clientele. If you're a smoker, gambler and drinker this is the hotel for you. If you're a family with young kids, go elsewhere so you're not all breathing in cigarette smoke while checking in. Staff is friendly. Good price point.

It seems to be an older hotel, but has been very nicely updated. The staff at the hotel and casino restaurants were very friendly and helpful.Great housekeeping staff! Really good restaurants in the casino! People we know in Reno were skeptical about us staying there as it used to be a little bit of a rundown area. I think it’s changing. It is on the west side of the Sparks Marina Park lake. On the other side of little lake is the Outlet mall and the big Scheels sports store. There are a large number of restaurants in area too. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Nice and friendly staff. Very old and a little run down. Our room had a very foul odor (like a broken sewage pipe?) and also smelled of cigarettes (even though smoking is not allowed in the rooms). The beds and pillows were not super comfortable, and our AC didn't work very well. The property itself is decent, but could use some updates.

Worst night of sleep in a long time - dance party on the 3rd floor at 1am kept me up all night.

No breakfast, but this location is perfect for people travelling with pets. Excellently appointed for pet parents. They leave dishes in the room and bottled water for your baby, and there was even a tennis ball in the room for our boy! The first time here, they accommodated my husband, on oxygen, with wheelchair assist to our room. This is now our go-to place when travelling between Arizona and Washington state

The room was clean and bed was comfortable but the property is very old and outdated. It’s also right next to a truck stop which is kind of unsettling being a woman traveling alone. The cleaning staff was amazing and very helpful. They have no valet or bell service but they called security to help me with my luggage which was kind of them.

Issue #2 - The toilet and sink where both severely cracked. Issue #3 - This was a very minor issue but the remote for the TV didn't work. Had to wait for a new one. Issue #4 - Parking was absolutely horrible. After driving over 12 hours the only thing I wanted was a bed, didn't happen. The staff was nice but it would have been appreciated to have my pet deposit, or the $25 extra a night pet fee, to get comped. As a matter of fact even any kind of compensation would have been nice, all I got was "...sorry for your inconvenience...". How this place has a 9 star rating I'll never know. I will not be using Hotels.com or visiting Western Village ever again.

The room was very clean, and the staff was absolutely outstanding. Check in was very easy, as was checkout. The location close to a big truck stop, with some homeless people about, I think would make a female alone feel uneasy. The fact that the local law enforcement arrested someone three doors down from my room the day of my arrival didn’t help, but I know a hotel cannot Vet its customers. I still would have no problem staying there, but solo female travelers might feel uncomfortable.

I have never seen a place so clean! The many restaurants made it easy to choose what to eat and the food was excellent The young man who checked me in (sorry I forget your name. (Long black hair, one ninth German)) was so nice. He made checking in easy.

We always enjoy staying at Western Village. The rooms are nice & comfortable. This time we were celebrating my 15 year-old granddaughter's birthday at Pancho & Willie's. It couldn't have been better! Wonderful food and the best service EVER!!!!
