Reviews
The Historic Davenport Hotel is a beautifully restored and maintained property with a rich history, offering a unique and luxurious experience to its guests. While the hotel is generally praised for its elegant decor, comfortable rooms, and excellent service, some guests have expressed concerns about cleanliness, noise, and the quality of the mattresses.
- Beautifully restored and maintained historic property
- Elegant decor and comfortable rooms
- Cleanliness issues in some rooms
- Noise from trains and outside disturbances

Room not ready at check in time. Then wrong room given. Staff at check in not approachable and charged out parking incorrectly. I did go back the next day and a new staff member was very helpful and reversed the charges. Hotel is overall beautiful. We prefer the Davenport Grand for future.

Someone needs to contact me form this poorly ran hotel

If it is on your bucket list to stay here, go for it. We did it once and not staying again. Hope this review helps you.

Cost to value ratio was off and hotel staff mainly at the front desk, was like dealing the dmv, Steven the bartender was fantastic, the property decor and it's history is amazing, wish the staff feel like they were working at such a cool place. The amenities and room are unique and quality, but to cost to value is a little off. Could be the lack of grace in the staff that delivered them. Not bad stay, however if the building is this iconic, the clout factor is high, and so are is the prices, then I will be judging critically.

Really nice for a one night getaway. Will be staying there again. Slept really well!

Noise from trains and road all night long. Bed uncomfortable. Worst night sleep ever.

Check-in staff were not very friendly. Biggest issue was we were not told at check-in that you needed to call the front desk to confirm having your room serviced in addition to pushing the service room button at door of room. When we found our room not serviced at about 5:00 pm the next day we were told the employees were done for the day. Odd that a hotel of this caliber you had to “beg” to have your room serviced. Also asked to have safe opened in room upon check-in - no one ever came had to call again the next morning. I’ve stayed at lesser hotels that were cleaner and far more friendly!
- 5/5
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff seemed a little weirded out that two guys would be checking in together (especially the valets). I always stay here when I visit Spokane and this stay was almost perfect.
- 5/5
I appreciate the restoration of this hotel. Parking is convenient and safe.

What a lovely hotel.
- 5/5
This hotel is just wonderful! Beautifully restored and maintained--it's a gem!
- 5/5
Lovely room. We checked in late and the parking attendant was helpful and quick with our car. Easy check in and a wonderful breakfast the next morning. We love staying here! The coffee shop and huckleberry cinnamon rolls are a sweet way to end the stay!
- 5/5
Beautiful, restaurants on site, close to eveything, historic, great staff, and the bed was so comfortable we bought one!!

Best hotel in Spokane—comfortable beds, spacious rooms, excellent amenities, and a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

The only disappointment was that our shower cleaning materials had not been refilled before we arrived. The shampoo container was empty, as well as the conditioner and shower gel. They all smelled good; however, we didn't get to use them.
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful, restored hotel! Everything was nicely done down to the very intricate detail. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
No flaws during our stay. Customer service was so good and the room was beautiful and clean. We had to ask for more blankets twice (#kids) and the staff did not treat it like a burden. Room service was timely and prepared very nicely. Drinks at the bar were delicious!

Beautiful historical building Close to trains coming thru the night
- 5/5
This beautiful iconic hotel pays attention to detail in every room we have stayed. Always clean and spacious.
- 3.5/5
Room service was good We love the Davenport and have both stayed many times. Scott (bellhop) was incredible. Facilities are great. The housekeeping lacked a lot especially considering the reputation of the property. We did not receive new towels for a 4 day stay without asking for them. The bed was haphazardly made with decor pillow still on the floor. No hand soap in the bathroom- had to ask. Also- wanted room service at 10pm on Friday night and the QR code said they were too busy and room service was not available anymore that day
- 5/5
Clean room, staff, breakfast and parking has been great
- 5/5
Classic well maintained older hotel
- 5/5
Breakfast at Grill restaurant was ok not stellar for a place of this caliber.
- 5/5
Excellent all around. Stunning building
- 5/5
The hotel is one of the most beautiful, well run and awesome hotel we have ever stayed in and we have traveled the world. EXCELLENT!!!!!
- 2.5/5
The building is spectacular. The ambiance was very classic and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and personable. There were 10 noticeable yellow stains on the sheets in both beds in our room ranging in size from palm size to quarter size. For the price of the room, I would not expect stains on the sheets.

Wonderful hotel that's so gorgeous on the inside. The lounge and restaurant area are a work of art. The elevators and mail box are very old world and beautifully restored. The carpeting in the hallways is pleasant to walk on and beautiful. No complaint with our room facing Sprague Ave. The bed was excellent and extremely comfortable. About the only room for improvement would be to provide actual coffee cups for drinking coffee in the morning, instead of paper cups.
- 5/5
A very nice place to stay. It clean, comfortable and a pleasant sorrounding

Super helpful friendly staff. I had a newly broken arm to deal with and needed a little extra TLC. The thoughtfulness of the front desk, concierge, room care and wait staff was much appreciated.
- 5/5
Love this hotel!!! Everything was beyond our expectations so if you have a chance to stay at one of the Davenport Hotels in Spokane (I think there are 3?) this one is amazing...our friends stayed at the Davenport Grand Hotel near convention center and comparing the two I loved ours for the old world charm and history of the place. Food at the restaurant was lovely and the ambience added such warmth to everything.

It was a step back in time with the hotel rich history and decor. The dinner I had at the hotel was excellent as was desert.

Great history, beautiful hotel inside, food and lounge areas available. Very clean and comfortable room.

The bed was very comfortable. The toilet wasn’t clean and there was a dirt ring around the water line evident it had not been cleaned in awhile. I think the room I was in was a cheaper room and not used often. I overlooked the rooftop with all sorts of equipment that made a lot of sounds. One sound in particular sounded like a bird hitting the window. Also when I called the Valet no one ever picked up. It would bounce all around to other departments. Finally someone answered and told me they were really busy and to come down and tell them in person. Another time someone took a message for me. It would’ve been easier and faster to not use valet.

Historic property with a lot of charm and great service
- 3/5
Have been coming here for decades. Ever since Marriott took it over, it's lost the luster and appeal that made it a great place to stay. Always understaffed. You are placed on hold forever (if the phone is even answered) to order room service or contact the front desk. Management has an I-don't-care attitude. We are saying goodbye and will start to try other hotels in the area.
- 5/5
The hotel was an excellent experience, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptional. The rooms were immaculate and well-maintained. The location was convenient, making it easy to access nearby attractions. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations.
- 5/5
Great property
- 5/5
Valet parking, one dinner and one breakfast, service all around was superb, great staff! Have been a guest 5 times during recent years and always pleased!
- 5/5
check in took a bit of time because there were several wedding parties checking in at the same time, love the hotel, great location, easy walking distance to or event wanted to eat in the Palm Lounge for breakfast but they were a bit overwhelmed so we went elsewhere
- 2/5
I have been going to the historic davenport for years and this is the first poor experience that I have had. The plumbing didn't work correctly. Plumbing is just math and putting stuff together when done correctly it works, when done on the cheap and incorrectly it doesn't work properly. I asked for some more towels, I received what seemed to be used towels. On checkin I asked for 6 months prior a room on the top floor, they didn't pay attention to my request. They didn't pay their tv cable bill, several channels did not work with a message saying their contract expired. In years past they would have a sturdy laundry bag for dirty clothes, with their logo on the bag, a wonderful and economical way to advertise, this time it was a cheap nondescript small bag. Overall, I was not happy during this stay.
- 5/5
It's always a pleasure staying at this iconic hotel. Love everything about it. The history, service, and the food! All excellent!
- 5/5
Great historic hotel and Fido is allowed
- 5/5
The front desk could use more staff - especially during Bloomsday - however, the staff there was excellent.
- 5/5
Clean room. Great service.
- 3/5
The historical and architectural features were beautiful. However, for a hotel of this caliber, the Housekeeping was dismal. Our first full day there, no one had come to clean the room by 4 PM, so I called the front desk and they told me they were all behind. Two hours later, knowing it’s still come, so I called and asked for towels at least. They did bring those. The next day I let them know that we weren’t thrilled that the housekeeper hadn’t come, and we had to clean the room light on the door. We got home at 5:30 in the evening and still no one had come to clean the room. I went down to the front desk and ask for a manager, and was told the manager was at lunch and they would call me when they returned. They never did, but about 6:30 PM. They sent a housekeeper to do the room. This is not something that I would expect when you pay this much for a hotel room and it is supposed to be a high caliber place to stay.
- 4/5
Beautiful lobby. The famous Davenport mattress was old and dipped on one side.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel jam packed with history. Super clean and you could tell they pride themselves on all the big and small details. We saw the bar tender after the main bar was closed one night on his hands and knees cleaning and polishing the brass legs of the tables. This building is a treasure and I applaud ownership for maintaining it. Well done and please continue.
- 4/5
Clean room, new carpet in halls and room, marble bathroom, staff was friendly, very good breakfast in their restaurant (added cost), valet parking available (we always use it at this hotel).
- 5/5
Amazing Berry and Crab Louie salads
- 5/5
Did not visit the swimming pool or gym as we were busy working I lost my cardigan and called when I got home They retrieved it and are holding it until we return to Spokane in 2 weeks All positive It is my go to place now We usually stay at the Tower but this was spectacular Negative Price of parking We self parked the car for 2 nights it was supposed to be $28 per night the bill was $106 and another $48 to get out of the lot at the end of our stay We are looking into that in case there was a mistake
- 5/5
The stay was comfortable and the rooms were clean. The bakery has great peanut brittle cookies too!
- 2/5
Checked in at 3pm room not ready says would call me , Sat in chairs by elevator, no place to wait and not have to pay for food or drink. 496pm went back to front desk ,line ifc8 people. Hot in line , 10 min get called over by a Brittany but as we walk up a man who was not in any line walks up to Brittany. She finds up helping him while we stand there
- 5/5
Always a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is exceptional and the food and beverages are very well done with an excellent variety and very top notch taste and presentation.
- 1/5
We arrived at 5:00 PM and waited in line for 20 minutes, (there only one person working at the front desk). When we finally got helped, we were told our room wasn’t ready—no estimated time, just “we’ll call you.” It took another hour and 15 minutes before we received that call. We then waited in line again for another 20 minutes to get our keys. Unfortunately, the keys didn’t work for the elevator. A man already inside assumed we didn’t know how to use it and used his key to help us. When we reached our floor, the key still wouldn’t unlock our room. We double-checked the room number—it was correct—so back down to the front desk we went. We were issued a new set of keys, which worked for both the elevator and the room. As we started settling in, one of the teens noticed luggage already inside. We had been given keys to AN OCCUPIED ROOM. Thankfully, no one was in the room at the time, but it was still a serious and concerning mistake. We returned to the front desk for a fourth time before finally receiving a key to an unoccupied room. The entire process took over two hours. I’ve since reached out three times and have been promised a call from the manager, Tawnee. It has now been two days, and I have yet to hear anything. For nearly $300 per night, this experience made it feel like guest care ends once payment is made. There are several very nice hotels in the downtown area—I would strongly recommend avoiding this one.
- 5/5
beautiful hotel
- 5/5
We have eaten and stayed there before and it was all exceptional. Unfortunately, we were very underwhelmed and disappointed this time. The meal only and drinks! Everything else was superior! Thank you for your time.
- 4/5
Check in was slow. I arrived at 3:50 and room was not ready until after 5. Also long line for check in. Seems they were short staffed as that has never happened before
- 4/5
Everything was quite lovely, except the coffeemaker in my room did not work. I was in a rush, so asked for a short cup on the way out, and it was not complimentary!
- 5/5
yes the breakfast menu is fresh!
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
There was a minor mistake at check in, and without prompting I was given a beautiful suite. The entire hotel is beautifully restored and decorated. The bar and restaurant are in the center area and had good energy of people both during the day and evening. Feels very elegant and nostalgic. The immediate surrounding around the same block aren’t very interesting, but it’s a quick flat walk just a couple blocks to be right it the mall and the river.
- 5/5
Did not go breakfast
- 5/5
This is a beautiful classic facility. We loved the ambiance and well cared for facility. We will definitely return!
- 4/5
Nice historical hotel but mistakenly thought I had booked the Grand Davenport. Didn’t realize there were two . It was very nice
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel- bed is quite high off of ground which could be difficult for some .
- 4/5
Hotel is very clean and maintained well. Beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms are wonderful.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel- we really enjoyed staying here and enjoying the history of the hotel. Kids enjoyed the pool and the proximity to restaurants. We would stay here again.
- 2/5
We were placed on the 12th floor not knowing the place was haunted and had spirts visit us throughout the night. Not getting any sleep we asked to check out in the morning and were told by the front desk that there would be no refunds
- 5/5
The restaurant downstairs had very good food. The staff in the entire hotel was great! The location was perfect! We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. I highly recommend staying here!!! We'll be back for sure!
- 5/5
Was a wonderful treat to experience the Davenport
- 5/5

- 5/5
Spa services were great! Hotel is gorgeous. Restaurant food was pretty good in an amazing atmosphere.
- 2/5
First, we were told the room slept 3 adults. With only 1 King bed, that wasn't going to happen. Then the TV only had 6 working channels (They had lost their contract with Direct TV). There was no microwave in the room. The conditioner was empty in the shower and when we asked for more, no response. Called the next day and asked again and they brought us shower gel. The toilet would continue flushing itself every few minutes unless you jiggled the handle.
- 5/5
No fridge or microwave in room
- 5/5
One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at. Elegance! Superior service! Fantastic bars/restuarants. Beautiful large bedroom with incredible views of Spokane. Exquisite! I will definitely be back, again and again.
- 5/5
Delicious clean wonderful

Beautiful, pet friendly, and fun staff. A must stay when in Spokane.
- 4/5
I wrongfully assumed that you would get free parking when staying overnight. That was expensive for one night stay. Over $300 for a standard king room with parking cost. Not sure I would do that again.
- 4/5
A magnificent historical hotel. Located near Spokane River Park - such beauty and fun. Only problem was a strange odor that kicked in my asthma.
- 5/5
Such a beautiful place with astonishing architecture. A bucket list must.
- 4/5
Hot tub was perfect and great.
- 5/5
We had a really nice stay for my daughter’s birthday. She enjoyed the spa earlier in the day and said she’d definitely go to get a massage and facial there again. It is such a lovely hotel. We really enjoyed it.
- 5/5
The food was great other than the crab cakes
- 5/5
Classic, beautiful hotel.
- 5/5
Check-in was great! The gal had a sweet demeanor and was very friendly. Roo. Was nice! Shower was dirty though and had hair on the wall from the previous guest. Checkout was quick, easy and that gal was also super sweet! Great representation at the front desk!
- 5/5
The hotel was so beautiful, staff friendly, comfortable room.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Nice room, elegant hotel
- 3/5
I had originally asked for a nice room for our anniversary celebration and when we got to the room the bed was literally curving in word to the point where you could see it and we were told there were no other rooms available then we had a piece of bread from the ice machine yes you read that correctly, and then spoke with a manager and was then transferred to another room which was great however the TV only produced sound
- 1/5
Took over 2 hours to get a room, holes in bedding and hair in shower.
- 5/5
Customer service was great! Friendly staff answering calls and requests right away. Beautiful historic building!

- 5/5
Amazing service! Exceptionally clean room!
- 5/5
Staff was all amazing and helpful. Tawnee was super nice and helpful. Jennifer also was super helpful and pleasant. I wp
- 2/5
The staff were all excellent and doing their best on a very busy weekend. The room was well appointed, but there was significant mildew in the shower ceiling and on the bathroom blinds. The mattress was well worn with a significant sag in the middle. My wife and I both woke up with significant neck and back pain. There was a $10 parking up charge due to an event, so the parking for one night was $38 for hotel guests. The $20 destination amenities charge applied after checking out also feels excessive and unnecessary given the accommodations.
- 5/5
The hotel staff really made me feel at home. I left my eye glasses behind, and only noticed when we were out to breakfast and had already checked out. There were 3 people involved in helping me find them, all so concerned and helpful.
- 2/5
I’m writing to share feedback regarding my stay at The Davenport last night. I’ve stayed with you several times in the past and have always had positive experiences, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. We arrived to check in at 4:00 pm and, despite checking back every 30 minutes, were unable to access our room until 7:00 pm after waiting in the lobby for nearly three hours. The front desk offered a complimentary box of peanut brittle and mentioned an “upgrade,” though the room we received was the same room type I had originally booked. Additionally, we experienced an issue with a food delivery. The delivery driver was told to leave our order at the front desk and that we would be notified. After waiting about 15 minutes with no call or message, we went downstairs to find our food sitting unattended on a side table while front desk staff were chatting. Between the extended check-in delay, lack of communication, and overall service experience, this stay fell well below the standard I’ve come to expect from The Davenport. I wanted to bring this to your attention and would appreciate any consideration you feel is appropriate. Thank you for your time, Tiana Simmons
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, large room and comfy bed. Our room smelled smoked in so we were moved to another. There was some construction work but that ended at 5:00 so quiet after that. Bar areas were great with friendly bartenders.
- 5/5
This place is always impressive. I’ve stayed there over 5 times and will continue too forever.
- 5/5
Above excellent in all regards
- 5/5
Pillows were too flat
- 5/5
Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Dinner was delicious in the Palm restaurant. Breakfast sandwich and mocha from the Emporium was perfect.
- 5/5
Lovely every time I stay. A classic and classy, old school hotel.
- 5/5
Valet service was excellent, room & restaurant was amazing, candlelight venue also amazing
- 5/5
The Historic Grand Hotel was an amazing property within walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, ice skating, parks, trails, and more. Exceptionally comfortable mattress and bedding. We splurged on massages, and the Spa had exceptional service and great amenities. Spa staff encouraged us to explore the second floor of the hotel and poke into open rooms and we learned so much more about the hotel history and its amenities. The lobby bar and peacock lounge are icons. The service and class are timeless. For a whole different vibe, Neato Burrito right across the street is a great casual bite.
- 1/5
Booked a king and was given a queen. Terrible
- 3/5
Trash on the floor in the bathroom from past guests. Holes in sheet and blanket. No full size pillows. No garbage bags in garbage cans. Air system very loud with other reoccurring noises. Stains on bathroom towels.
- 3/5
App didn't have keys ready when room was. Had to check in at the desk because the app didn't do anything. Only one person at check in desk of 4 computers with a long line of guests waiting to check in. Service has really gone downhill since the Marriott takeover.
- 5/5
Courteous, professional and friendly staff
- 1/5
All soap was empty, toilet broken too loud surrounding to sleep
- 4/5
Great place to stay and have dinner and a concert. Bed was terrible. We laid down at 11pm at night only to learn that our feet were higher than our heads because the bed was so bad. It was late and we were tired so we just tried to sleep.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel very well preserved. Wonderful staff great amenities good food and very walkable location for Spokane.
- 5/5
We had dinner in the restaurant and it was fancy and delicious!
- 5/5
The room was beautiful and clean. The hotel itself is my favorite in WA state. So gorgeous. We loved the room service and the bed was super comfortable.
- 5/5
This property lived up to it's reputation as a classic first-class hotel. The hotel staff from check in to check out was very accommodating. We couldn't have had a better stay.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great!
- 4/5
Very nice place and helpful valets. However we prepaid for parking and the manager on duty refused to allow that to be credited toward our valet parking, even though it had been applied to the same bill. I’m pretty irritated by that, if only because I wasn’t surprised.
- 5/5
super cool historic property and love the lobby
- 5/5
Historical location. Amazing hotel. It's our favorite hotel in Spokane.
- 4/5
Parking very congested hard to get in hard to have valley parking
- 3/5
Beautiful Hotel. Bed is very uncomfortable. After 1st night we asked to be moved to another room. Ended up upgrading to a deluxe room which was better.
- 2/5
Asked 3 times for clean towels & coffee for day. We never got either!
- 5/5
The Davenport is wonderful! So beautiful, clean and just
- 5/5
Beautiful atmosphere, clean rooms, great pool and fitness center in an excellent location.
- 3/5
I heard a what sounded like a gunshot in one of the rooms and it scared us terribly.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere
- 5/5
Friendly check in agent
- 5/5
First time staying here. It was nice.
- 3/5
Bed is very old and I rolled to the middle and Davenport is known for their mattresses. For the price I paid for the weekend, I would have thought my room would have had a little fridge and a microwave. We did request a fridge and microwave and staff brought them to us. The best part of our stay was the valet staff. They are top notch.
- 4/5
Prices are too high for the area. Too may "street people" around the property, city needs to help with that.
- 5/5
A was wonderful. Everything was great!
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
Its beautiful . I love the history. Staff is amazing too
- 5/5

They put us into the Tower across the street, issue after issue.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. They had lots of different restaurants but not enough servers.
- 4/5
The room was clean, and the hotel is amazing and historic. The Thanksgiving buffet and tree lighting were so fun! The mattresses and pillows in our double queen room were a little soft for our comfort.
- 5/5
Clean, historic and grand! What a treat. It was decorated for the holidays-cherry on top!
- 5/5
Amazing Architecture and history
- 5/5
Everything was perfect.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Yes all the above
- 3/5
the mattress was soft and plush but the bed WIGGLED SO BADLY we woke each other constantly with any little movement
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel with very clean rooms. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and so kind. The history in this hotel is amazing! The only recommendation I have is the food needs to be better to match this type of hotel.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 3/5
Yes, the room was in good condition, but it was NOT the room i requested 120 days prior, no happy about that. The front desk needs to listen better and also read the "special requests" and respond as opposed to brushing it off with no importance at all
- 5/5
Rom was perfect and the valet and front desk staff were friendly and efficient!
- 5/5
Stay here! From the moment you check in til the moment you leave, it is a pleasure to stay here. Excellent location.
- 5/5
Loved the historic vibe and the luxury.
- 5/5
Staff were wonderful!

Great staff and a beautiful venue.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Davenport! Friendly staff, clean everywhere you go.
- 5/5
The staff were very responsive and courteous.
- 5/5
Room is very clean as was the hotel. Parking was easy and everybody was very courteous and polite great place and location will stay here again.

I think the motel is beautiful but our room had the flattest worst pillows I ever had anywhere and all of us slept aweful cause of them. No fridge in the room and had to get one for my insulin. We found dirty underwear in the closet. there were dirty spots all over bathroom floor. They never mopped. We were also charged $120 extra when we were told about the Valet but not all the other fees. Just very discouraging. I was looking forward to a getaway 5 hours away from my home and it was not comfortable like the other places I have stayed with the Davenports hotels. A few of the young boys doing Valet were excellent but the older guy acted very troubled by having to help us. Upon Checkout they could not even print me a receipt and still have not got one emailed to em. HMMMM cause I wanted all the extra charged explained to me when I booked with Expedia.
- 5/5
Very courteous and helpful.
- 4/5
Only negative comment is the $25/hour charge to use the room you’ve already paid for if it’s available early.
- 5/5
Great room! Clean, comfortable and quiet! The only issue is the design of the shower. You have to reach in and get wet and cold to set the temp. Breakfast was great! Had dinner one night.
- 5/5
Love the room.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms. Excellent location with convenient parking.
- 1/5
The beds are terrible they are very uncomfortable and they refuse to refund the money

Hotel was nice
- 5/5
It's a beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown. My wife and make a point to stay there at least once every year.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the stay as it is the perfect Hotel to relax and enjoy a weekend. The staff are amazying thr property is next level.
- 5/5
The Spa was wonderful! The staff were professional and friendly!
- 5/5
Excellent stay, staff very friendly and helpful. Everything was in top condition. Will definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
This hotel has been beautifully restored. The rooms are lovely. The amenities are excellent. We always choose to stay here if we are passing through Spokane.
- 4/5
The hotel is beautiful. Feels like you have stepped back in time to the 1920s. A little disappointed thar there was no refrigerator in the room and the room temperature was more warm than I would like. We weren't able to adjust the thermostat. My husband would have been less than thrilled about that.
- 5/5
The building was beautiful and I felt safe in my hotel room.
- 4/5
We like the history of the hotel and the convenience of the restaurant. They've added more stations on the TV than they had before but our coffee machine didn't work and the makeup mirror was broken so we weren't happy about that.
- 5/5
What I loved most was the design, cleanliness, and how safe I felt traveling alone. The fee for parking overnight was not disclosed at the time of booking. I would have preferred to know and pre-arrange this. I appreciated the amount of peace I felt while getting an amazing nights rest.
- 5/5
Not now
- 5/5
I asked the staff about my concerns with walking late downtown. They gave me safety tips as well as offered a number to call if.we.at all felt unsafe for pick up.
- 5/5
Fabulous historic hotel in pristine condition. A real treat to stay here.
- 5/5
Great historic hotel
- 5/5
Excellent, historic building in downtown!
- 3/5
While this property was lovely, we did not get to stay. 5 minutes before our arrival we were called that they had to move us to their property across the street, a smaller butler service hotel. They would not really give us a reason why we were being moved. We were there for 4 days, no one came to clean the room, fresh towels, and no signage implementing a procedure. When I asked why I was told you must request services. Our room key also failed everyday with explanation as to why. I wanted the look, feel and experience of the hotel we booked at and this had none of that.
- 2/5
That is where the illusion ends. This hotel is run to nickel and dime you from the second you enter to the moment you leave. The two biggest ways you will see this is upon arrival, a 28$ parking fee per day and a $20 daily amenity fee that gets you....nothing (unless you want to dine in their restaurant, in which they give you 10 back.) Nothing says welcome guest like a bunch of hidden fees. Add onto this the fact that your 350 dollar hotel room has no fridge, not enough towels or robes, and trash left from the previous guests..... It's a beautiful hotel, but the luxury ends at the decor.

First time staying @ The Davenport and we are not disappointed. Staff are exceptional! From our first interaction with Valet Jordan to checking in everyone was exceptional. Had to try out the pool and hot tub ... both very relaxing. We will be trying out the rest of the amenities tomorrow.

The hotel is exquisite, a true masterpiece and a wonderful experience.

Wonderful staff throughout the hotel!

This place was recommended by my Aunt and it did not disappoint! The rooms were roomy and very comfortable. The hotel inside and out was beautiful and elegant! I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

Beautiful!
- 5/5
The hotel stay was wonderful, and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Loved all the services, from the spa to the Emporium to the Palm Court Grill. I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Spokane, would absolutely stay there again and recommend to anyone who asks where to stay!
- 5/5
Great food and service. Room was excellent. I didn’t care for the issue of driving downtown but everything else was wonderful
- 5/5
This hotel is easily the most beautiful I have ever visited. The attention to detail in every square inch of this hotel is breathtaking. There is so much history throughout the entire building. My daughters and I started out in the Peacock room. The bartender was so kind even though he was getting ready to close up. There was still time for a last call. We had a delicious drink and we’re admiring the most beautiful ceiling I’ve ever seen. A back lit stained glass peacock, covered the entire ceiling. After that, we took our time looking around the hotel. Photos and artifacts from the original hotel. Taking in the beautiful architecture and lighting. We wandered everywhere that was accessible to us taking photos as we went. We were eventually approached by very friendly security member. We were overjoyed when asked if we would like a tour! She showed us into some of the locked rooms. We saw the ballrooms. The room Amelia Earhart stayed in. We even saw the famous circus room. We felt so lucky to see and learn the history of the hotel. Privileged, to view so many treasures the artists who created this masterpiece of a building have hidden in their work. We would have never gotten to see all of these pieces of history without her kindness. This was hands-down the best visit to any hotel I have ever been on. I will never forget my time here. It is a beautiful place with a staff that is exceptional.

This place was stunning. A real gem in Spokane.

Great hotel, beautifully redone, and renovated.

Historic Charm
- 5/5
Whenever we are in Spokane we make it a point to stay at the Davenport. We have looked at all the old photos over and over many times. It is such a beautiful hotel and the new bar and Emporium are a great addition!
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Great staff
- 5/5
Nice bathroom, big bed. Little wobbly but good. Check in was OK. She wasn’t overly informative. But told us to go ask someone else who might know more about parking for the RV we have. That worked.
- 2/5
Bed was not a true king, and sheets were not so great....its like every time we engaged a different aspect of the Historic Davenport we became leary, what weren't we told...did not feel like guests, we felt like a number....Given the reputation and the price to stay we felt you all fell short. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Douglas Hinton

This was an amazing stay for a very affordable price. The hotel is first class in all regards. Staff and other guests were polite and respectful. The downtown area around the hotel is beautiful. An amazing hotel with an amazing history! I can't wait to go back and stay again.
- 5/5
We are at the restaurant for breakfast both days we stayed. The breakfast’s were absolutely delicious !!
- 5/5
Amazing Hotel that really lives up to its history. Desk clerk was a little snarky when he told me check in was at 4. No tone of sorry but we cannot check in until 4. It was " YOU CAN CHECK IN AT 4. This was at 3. No worries if there are no rooms available, as we had a suite. Just needs to work on his deskside manor a bit. Other than that, the hotel is absolutely amazing and the rest of the staff were terrific.
- 5/5
Davenport is the nicest Hotel in Washington State
- 5/5
Great hotel! Old timey feel with some food music and staff at the lobby bar. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows were a bit too puffy. Good central locatin downtown Spokane with lots of great food options all around.
- 5/5
My kids (and dog) and I had a great two night stay. Beautiful facility, friendly and helpful staff and great location—close to lots of shopping and riverfront park. Looking forward to coming back!
- 3/5
The rooms where not very clean and property was dusty everywhere

Beautiful property
- 4/5
A bit dated but it’s 100 years old. Still loved it.
- 2/5
Expedia, you owe me some money !
- 5/5
Awesome room with a circus theme, huge beds. My kids loved it! Nice exercise room. Lovely staff!
- 1/5
After many many stays at this location this by far was the worst experience I have had at any hotel. I have made many attempts to speak with staff and management but all my calls and requirements have gone unanswered. I have loved this hotel for many years but will question ever staying there again.
- 5/5
Peaceful and quiet
- 2/5
Breakfast is very overprice considering the quality of the food. 350 dollars for one person/one night in Spokane isn't worth it. Doubt I'll stay here again.
- 5/5
An amazing property. The entire building is so classic and impressive

Love this hotel!!

The front desk was rude and was not efficient at check in. The mat

Dated
- 5/5
Front desk was suoer friendly and even gave us a complimentary upgrade. The room was beautiful, we loved the soaking tub! The Palm Grill was excellent with friendly and accomodating service. The lobby bar was gorgeous, but both bartenders working could have been a little warmer. They were not unfriendly, just no smile or even a "how is your night". I run a hotel and bar so those little touches go a long way and when guests do not get them, it is noticed. Overall, 4.8 stars - we cant wait to go back!
- 5/5
I had to take my granddaughter to the train at 1 am. Having valet parking felt so safe and simple. Much appreciation!
- 4/5
Beautiful old charm throughout the hotel- including the bedrooms. Don’t expect chic furniture and modern touches- think more grandma’s house! I love it for the the lobby but do wish they would update the rooms. Also, I realized how loud this hotel was. It didn’t bother me but I did notice it. All the staff was kind and accommodating, hotel itself is great, just dated rooms
- 5/5
The Davenport is a beloved hotel for a reason! The staff are all very friendly and helpful and everything from parking through check-in was a breeze. The property was so masterfully restored in the early 2000s. We spent an hour wandering the lobby, reading through all of the historical information and staring at every detail. Our room was very comfortable and super clean. Definitely worth the stay when you are in Spokane.

The historic hotel was ok. Our bed was terrible and the location area is horrible. We didn't feel safe walking the dog on the streets. The city of Spokane can and should do better! This effects hotel business. Very disappointing to this beautiful hotel:(

I have traveled the world and this hotel will remain one of my favorite places on the planet. It is gorgeous and top-notch with all of the thoughtful touches.

we are very disappointed in our stay last night. For numbers of reason. First we tried to check in at 4pm and was told they just needed to checked the room it should be anytime so we waited. 4:45 came we called and was told the room was still dirty. Called again because we were running out of time . Told it should be 10 more minutes . Finally very close to 530 pm we were able to check in no one said sorry. Didn’t even tell us how to get to our. Room tell we asked where the elevator was. Walked in the room pretty nice room until we found a huge hairball in the bathrroom tub . Then tried to call to ask where the pool was was on hold for over 5 mins so we just desired to find it our self. I’m not impressed with customer service as the front desk or anyone in there didn’t apologize. Or was helpful

Beautiful hotel. Service was impeccable from check in to restaurant staff and housekeeping. Can’t wait to go back. Davenport Hotel will always be my place when I’m in Spokane.
