The bed was very comfortable. With the A/C cranked up, you could hang a side of beef in the room. A big person will not be able to articulate the bathroom very well. I could pee and touch the side walls with my elbows at the same time! Shower had good hot water and good water pressure but, it's 28 INCHES square! I dropped the soap and had to step out of the shower to be able to bend over and pick it up. No grab bars needed. If you slip, the bathroom is so small, all you would do is lean into the wall! Another good thing about the shower and the toilet being so close together is, if you're in a rush in the morning, you can actually take a dump AND wash your hair at the same time! I would recommend a room in the back middle as high as possible. I stayed in a corner room on the 4th floor facing South and East toward the yacht club. Great view but, it's noisier than Times Square at all hours of the night; especially on the weekend. Damn motorcycles want to "cruise" up and down the main road and rev-up at the intersection. If the Hotel had a firehose in the hallway, I swear I would have soaked their asses! I would also recommend that if you're going out on the town, go down the hall and push the elevator button first. That way, by the time you get ready and return to it, it might get there before you are! The TV was smaller than my computer screen. Had 2 remotes. One for on/off and the other for channels and volume. Had to find me a 12-year-old to show me how to use them! No porno channels. Come to find out, I didn't need them. The room walls are so thin, I just listened to the room next to me! Hell. When they were finished, I, smoked a damn cigarette! I believe I would stay here again just to see what happens next! If you like 100-year-old Hotels, this is the place. I actually had fun there. The dead guy in the lobby!

The hotel definitely has a very old, historic feel, but not much has been updated, so it shows its age. Parking wasn’t the most convenient since you have to use a parking garage, which can be a bit of a hassle. On the plus side, the location is right in the middle of everything, which makes it great if you’re planning to go out and enjoy the nightlife. Overall, it’s a decent option if you just need a place to stay for the night while you’re out partying

The hotel is older so you need to know that I order to set the right expectations. One elevator. However it is super convenient to everything in downtown St Pete. One block from the water. One block from Saturday Farmer’s Market. Attached to the building are restaurants and bars. The nightlife of St Pete is all within walking distance. So if you want a nice cozy place and don’t mind a little older property this is a great place. Just one thing to note…. Hot water in the shower takes time to heat up. Don’t jump right in.

Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of St. Pete’s, FL. Staff was friendly and onsite 24/7. Rooms were small but comfortable enough for a one night stay. We stayed in one of the standard rooms but I recommend upgrading to get a bigger bed (ours was a full). Bathroom was tiny but everything worked. Parking is across the street in a separate garage and costs $16 for 24hours. There were two restaurants outside the hotel that were really good. Good location and affordable price.

Nothing This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The room conditions were unacceptable: no cold water in the shower, windows that wouldn’t open at all, a bent bathroom shelf that couldn’t hold anything, and overall poor maintenance (scratched and worn edges, chipped paint, sticky and damaged floors). The smell in the room was genuinely unpleasant. Cleanliness was also a serious issue. There was a clear cockroach infestation (I have photos, with insects of all sizes), and even visible wasp nests. This alone should be a major red flag. Noise and safety were another problem. One night, a couple next door had a violent fight — shouting, slamming doors, throwing objects — and no one from the hotel intervened. I tried calling reception, but the phone in the room didn’t work. Later that same night, another guest started blasting music around 2:00 AM. I reported it at reception after trying to handle it myself, and again, nothing was done. To make matters worse, I had to insist on changing rooms because of all this. The hotel initially resisted, and when they finally agreed, they moved me to a smaller room without any refund or compensation. Overall, this place shows a complete lack of maintenance, hygiene, and basic guest management. I would strongly not recommend staying here.

The staff would not acknowledge us when we arrived at the Hotel for check in, as she was writing her notes in her notebook. The first night of our stay, we found alive cockroaches in the bathroom and throughout our stay we had to deal with this issue. The elevator was licking and you could not help being rained on while in elevator. on their website, they claimed/stated that there was self-parking available, and breakfast and coffee was served which none was true. we had to keep feeding the parking meter every two hours. The staff were very unfriendly and rude.

So many online reviews cite dated facilities, cleanliness concerns and a desperate need for upgrades, which is 100% true, but something I didnt see mentioned is that guest rooms ARE DIRECTLY ABOVE A NIGHTCLUB and it is impossible to get a good night's sleep. The thumping bass was loud until almost 3am, followed by the VERY loud crowd shouting outside until about 3:30am. We stayed here for the nearby triathlon and needed to get up before 5am the next morning. We had prepared ourselves for a no frills room to avoid some extra travel- the important thing was it was a place to sleep. So when the ONE purpose of the room was impossible, I'd give this hotel zero stars if I could. When we were headed out for the race at 5:30am, we saw someone randomly sleeping on the couch in the common area! The overall vibe is peculiar to say the least. Low price and location are NOT worth a loud sleepless night in a crappy room. Spend the extra dollars and stay ANYWHERE else.

Regret that I booked this place. I’ve stayed at other historic places in St. Pete and this was the worse. Dirty room, floors were filthy, bed was old, small, you sunk in middle and it and squeaky. Tv half hanging off wall when we walked in. No hot water no matter how long you let it run. Half used body washes. Shades weren’t big enough to cover the window, refrigerator door busted, bathroom fan was extremely loud. Bathroom door gets stuck. Noisy guests up and down halls all night. Not enough staff so there is nobody that can help you. No parking comes with room. The actual places looks nothing like the photos inside or out. We couldn’t wait to get outta there.

There is a reason this hotel rates in the 3-star range. Definitely a historic building, but not kept up all that well. Rooms are very basic, cracks in walls and ceilings, and for rooms facing the street, no sound insulation at all. Location is great and the staff I worked with were super willing to help if asked. If you go, take shower items; you'll want your own.

The historic property has its 100+ year old charm along with some grime and grunge left over from the last mid-century era. Rates were over $200/nt and it does not appear any of that is being invested in the condition of the property.

Forgot your coat hangers, no problem, so did they! Enjoy the tranquil drip of low pressure water as you let the shower run for 1-2 minutes for hot water. Don't be modest, soak up the sunshine through a single pane window while you simultaneously soak in the tub. What a view for everyone! Can't decide if you want the blinds open or closed, do both. One is stuck down, the other open, best of both worlds. Enjoy a DIY coffee experience in the common area, complete with antique pouches of powdered coffee dust. Abstract art enthusiast? The stains on the valance provide a great focal point and are open to interpretation.

Very disappointed. I never do negative reviews this but this one I cannot let slide. We wanted to experience the old St Pete vibe by staying at this hotel. Our room had no place to store our clothes. No dressers no hangers no ironing board. The shower was just as bad. No running hot water. The floors were dirty. Our feet were black, just by walking several steps in the room. Tried to call the front desk, but their phone in the room didn't work. So I use my cell phone but no one answered. I had to go five flights down the stairs to contact the front desk, who was new, if she could possibly get us some hangers and an ironing board, she said give her 30 minutes. We never saw any of the items listed, including extra towels. We won't be back. This is unfortunate because they're in a perfect location.

The room was cramped, old wood floor dirty, bed springs noisy & uncomfortable, decor was yuk, 2 double windows with curtains that didn’t close all the way- I had 2 hair clips to close them together, shower curtain was moldy, room was musty smelling & damp feeling. This room was on the 3rd floor & located on the corner of the building, a bar with outdoor seating was directly under our room & we heard people until early morning. The street on one side of the room was a drag strip for motorcycles through out the night. The worst part is when I told the staff at the front desk when checking out, he said “next time ask to get a room on the 6th floor, which is much better, yes, the room you were in is not very good.” To be told that by the front desk staff is terrible & he had absolutely NO apology whatsoever. We were staying in the area for a 3 day music festival & only needed a place to sleep & shower so wasn’t looking for a place to hang out during the day, but our room was the worst - honestly!

The only good thing about the property was the location. However, they do not provide parking; you have to pay to park in a public lot. First, there was no one at the front desk at 3pm to check us in. There was a note saying someone would be back in 5 min. with a phone number. After 10 min. we called and the gentleman said he was sorry, he was 30 min out. There was a huge line by the time he eventually arrived. It was extremely dirty. The inside of the refrigerator was sticky. The room itself looked like a halfway house. We did not spend the night.

The property is in a very convenient location, the staff were helpful and the room was very clean. It would’ve been nice to be able to check in sooner than 4 PM which left us a bit short on time. It would’ve also been nice for the coffee bar in the lobby to be open for business while we were waiting for our room to be ready.

The rooms are old and dirty. While I was there I saw at least three German roaches in my room. Nothing looked as if they were cleaned at any point or if they were it had to have been months ago. The elevator didn’t work really well and would get stuck. The bed was an old spring bed and was concave in the center of it. Floors felt sticky and gross. Shower had mildew everywhere and the shower head couldn’t let water through properly because all the holes were blocked up. Don’t be too large of a person because the path to squeeze into the shower and the bathroom sink will stop you. The free shampoo and conditioners were empty. They have no cleaning service so do not expect your room to be serviced in between the days that you stay. Parking also sucks. Cool location but just seems like they have to invest way more into their property. If you’re a couple. Do not book here. If you’re a person that can stand the mediocre hospitality and run down rooms and want to save money then this may be the place for you.

The furniture throughout the room was in poor condition—worn, damaged, and outdated, as though it had not been replaced in decades. The overall cleanliness of the space was unacceptable; the floors were stained and felt dirty to the point that walking barefoot was uncomfortable. Due to the condition of the room, I was concerned about bringing any belongings back into my home and took precautions with my luggage. Finally, while the elevator was operational, it made loud, unsettling noises and moved erratically, raising concerns about its safety and maintenance. Overall, the experience fell well below reasonable expectations for cleanliness, comfort, and upkeep.

Was not disclosed there was no parking on site, and that we had to pay to park in a ramp down the road. The rooms are small, the bathroom had a broken toilet, no hand soap, and had to ask a couple times to get some. The mattress must have been the original from the hotel build as it was horrible. We wake up the next morning to learn there was no hot water --tried several times over a 2 hour period and still no hot water. will not be back

Seriously. Read the reviews. I unfortunately did not. This property is dirty, run down and stinks from the restaurant exhaust next door. There are NO amenities besides a single elevator that wasn’t working. Our room was all mismatched furniture from times gone by. Mini fridge sitting on the floor with a coffee maker on top. There was no hot water and they were “sold out” and unable to switch my room. Oh, and there is no parking. No valet. Shame because it’s in a good location. So yeah, never again. I understand it’s an old building, but the hot water issue goes back YEARS, look at the reviews.

When we finally got a room, the window in the bathroom was cracked, window locks were broken, air conditioner was hanging off the wall, & the door frame/lock were severely damaged, all of which we didn’t realize until the morning. After 3 more nights of being told they would “try” to move us, we finally had to book a different hotel and check out. Getting a refund for the nights not stayed was a hassle, though we finally did get one. The bathroom never got hot water so showers were cold. There was no water at all one afternoon for reasons that were never explained. As a 5’8” female, I could not close the door while using the toilet because I was too tall & my knees blocked the door from closing. I also got stuck in the elevator. Would never book here again. That said, I felt terrible for the staff. They were WONDERFUL and really did try to help, but they can only do so much. If you want a cheap, questionable room in a great location, this is the place for you. If you want safety, hot water, & cleanliness, go elsewhere.

The building is old but historical, If you don't want quirky issues to pop up, go rent somewhere else. If you like a genuine trip mixed with real life- we loved being right downtown but felt the bathroom was small. We will visit again with all of its "flair". The town trolly is right outside the door. Access the city on the Looper or walk a half a mile to anywhere. Save your money on the rental car, and take a luke warm shower instead.

This is was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room smelt horrible. The window was falling out. The air conditioner was dusty, moldy, and falling apart. We got very sick from whatever was being blown out of the air conditioner and had to go to the doctors and get prescribed medicine for a respiratory infection from mold. I had to buy my own bedding to even feel a little comfortable falling asleep. I also bought disinfectant wipes and spray to use in the room. There was absolutely no hot water either. We checked in and due to understaffing we had to wait extra long for our room, which is no big deal. But when they sent us up the cleaning staff was still working and started rushing. We finally get inside and we were missing toilet paper, a trash bag in the can, and the toiletries the last guest had USED was still in the shower. We decided that it was no big deal, we just wanted to shower after a long day at the beach. When we tried to run the water nothing came out, so we spoke to the front desk and we were told that plumbing was being worked on and would be out for up to/ over an hour. Meaning no going to the restroom , no shower, or not even to wash our hands. This had not been mentioned to us before we went up to our room. When we finally got the opportunity to shower there was a sign inside the shower that said let water run 1 to 2 minutes for hot water, at best we got lukewarm water for approximately 3 minutes before it went back to cold, no matter how long we ran it. We tried to open a window to let in some air and the window literally fell off the hinges. The staff was very sweet but the hotel itself was very mismanaged and uncleanly, which I understand is due to staffing issues but this is an issue they need to sort out within their own company if it is going to directly affect the guests.

Here are the “cons” - bear with me, they are a lot: - Very dirty. A historic hotel with a vintage vibe does not have to be dingy to highlight its charm. - No hot water. There is a sign to “let the water run for 1-2 minutes”. Yeah… more like 15 minutes to get relatively warm water. - No daily housekeeping (as advertised), even with door handle sign request. When asked, they said it was done after check out, which would be ok, if originally stated. They offered to come and make the room, but they never did. - Broken and dingy furniture. NOTHING in the room was as pictured in the website. See MY pictures to compare. - Entrance is extremely slippery when wet. No entrance carpet. - No parking, or valet - Front desk incompetence. People were nice, but completely ignorant of basic hospitality principles. Questions were answered vaguely, if at all. When we complained about the issues they said “management would get in touch with us”. I am still waiting for that call. - Read the descriptions carefully: Fees are for two guests. Additional guests pay extra. Not recommended for families, AT ALL. No amenities for children (no pool), and we had to put up with MJ smell in the hall all weekend. - Fun fact: Toiletries were from another hotel. What’s up with that?!

House keeping could be better as we had a bleach stain on our comforter and there was moldy coffee in the coffee pot from a previous guest. Also the shower tiles had some mildew. The parking situation here is awful. They tell you that you can park in a nearby garage for $16 a day, although then you cannot come and go from the garage and if there is an event nearby using the garage you have to pay up front for the event parking and then the daily rate when you go to leave the garage. You can park on the street near the hotel but there is a 2 hour limit before 10PM, and then you have to move your car or make sure you start paying for parking promptly at 9AM, and that’s IF you can find street parking nearby. With that said, the staff was friendly and helpful although one evening when we came in late, the gentleman who was working the front desk was asleep at the desk. I would stay here again if I found a good deal on this hotel but I wouldn’t purposefully seek out this hotel to stay at again.

In the morning we left for a bit and then came back and by 9 o’clock. Our keys were deactivated for our room. We had to get in the line of other guests who also had deactivated keys and couldn’t get in their rooms. In addition to that there was no hot water at all. We let the shower run for almost 10 minutes and the hot water never kicked in. When we checked out again, there were other people downstairs to complain about the hot water situation. The gentleman at the front desk was nice and apologized for everything going on. But it was not a great situation.

It is a boutique hotel that needs some updates to make it more comfortable. Such as new carpets in the hallways. Updated paint colors so that it doesn't feel like a college dorm. Also the shower needs a proper glass enclosure or a shower curtain that doesn't allow water all over the floor. Please get more comfortable mattresses; too firm snd cheap. If you don't want to hear street noise, ask to be in a room off the street side; you can hear all the traffic and people in the street until 2am and then returning guests talking in the hallway! We also had someone knocking on our door at 5:30 am. This hotel is more conducive for college age; beware.

It was ok, but it was really loud and people were slamming doors shut all night. Also there is no parking so you have to pay another $40 to pay down the street. I would have chosen a place further away from downtown had I known this.

The room is cute but the bathroom is something else. Mold on the shower, no shelves, and it clearly hasn't been cleaned in a while. The room smells of mildew and stale air, I had to get a candle to cover the smell. The building is clearly old and there are some funny design choices. The staff is minimal but polite. The bartender at the tapas restaurant was rude but he also told me they are not associated with the hotel. Overall, you get what you pay for and this was a lower budget option with the perfect location.

The stay was great up until the night before I checked out. A man, obviously a staff member tried to gain entry to my room around 11:00p.m. I had the deadbolt engaged so he couldn’t enter my room. When we arrived they told us we were on the 6th floor. Then they let us know the elevator was broken. So we had to walk 6 flights of stairs all weekend. I knew from reviews that hotel was dated. This does not bother me. But room did not feel clean. Floor was sticky, behind bed was caked with dust. We only got two towels. No one came and cleaned our room the next day. The only good thing I can say about the hotel is it is in a great location. But there was no relaxing and enjoying our room. Once we left for the day we didn't come back till bed time, as we didn't want to walk those stairs 4 times in one day.

The hotel itself was built in 1920’s. As a result the hotel has a lot of character but is in no way modern. You will have the benefit of a safe and clean place to sleep, bathe and store luggage. The location is beyond excellent and balances out the age of the hotel and sparse accommodations. If you are a light sleeper you will absolutely need good ear plugs because the walls and floors are thin. If you have bad knees, note the beds are low to the ground and the stairs are steep and narrow in the event you need to use them. You will need a steamer or travel iron for your clothes. Parking is one block away and is safe and convenient. There is a wonderful bar (Novu) connected to the hotel on the right. They have great HH specials on drink and food. Fortu is Michelin starred restaurant connected to the hotel on the left. I stayed for one night only needing the place to change and sleep. The property was good for those purposes.

Wish they would keep up with the building. Obviously it is an old hotel, but that's not an excuse to not keep up with the place. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was not very clean. The shower faucet handles were not even connected to the wall. The sink didn't have a drain stopper. The wrefridgerator was not jice. And to clean the hallway they seemed to have just thrown some baby powder all over the carpet or something. Also, location is only good for those wanting to go clubbing. Do not expect to get any sleep at this hotel. Staff at front desk was nice, but I never really saw anyone else. Not really sure who the cleaning crew was or anytbing.

Clean to the standard of a 3 star hotel I guess. Did not have warm water, even when instructed to leave it running for 1-2 minutes to heat up - warm water never came...Incredibly loud at night, neighbor across the hall must have woken up the entire floor banging around from 1-4 am - think they ended up getting kicked out but tool WAY too long for this to happen. Also my deposit was fraudulently taken and not returned - had to go through AMEX to get it back

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The cleanliness was very poor. The towels clearly had not been washed from the previous guest, as there were multiple hairs stuck between the folds of several towels. On top of that, the noise level is unbearable. The floor literally vibrates from the music in the bar below, so don’t plan on sleeping until all the bars in the area finally close. To make things worse, the Wi-Fi is practically unusable. Short videos won’t even load on YouTube. Overall, not worth the stay.

When I arrived to check in, there was not an employee to be found anywhere, and no-one answered the phone when i stood there calling. Apparently the front desk clerk left before their replacement showed up. Then the replacement Showed up extremely late for his shift. From entering the hotel to finally getting into my room took well over an hour. The one elevator they have was out of service. The wood floor in our room was a very unsettling combination of simultaneously feeling both slightly and sticky and slimy. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable. When we left in the morning, Mr late to work was behind the front desk with his bare discusting feet propped up on the counter giving us a farewell view of the dirty soles of his feet. Bottom line is this hotel brings further shame to the reputation of 14th century Spanish conquistadors I would not go back there even if the room was free. For perspective...This is first time I have ever been compelled to leave an online review of this nature.

I was told by the front desk staff that this was an old hotel. He asked me what did I expect about the property? The front desk staff was dismissive and rude. I politely notified them each time that the Wi-Fi went out and the cable went out. Also even after I notified them several times that my room had not been cleaned my room still wasn't cleaned on any of the nights even when I put a sign outside of my door every single day to request that the room be cleaned by housekeeping. The location of the hotel is in a great area which is conveniently located by many restaurants and a short walk to the Salvador Dali Museum! The hotel bedroom was a good size and aside from that I loved the area in which the hotel was located at but the lack of customer service and the lack of cleanliness at the hotel left many things to be desired

Don't let the good reviews fool you. It's a great convenient location, but the hotel is in poor shape. The standard room was not very clean, there were holes on the walls and the room door. The bed felt like a hammock and there was no hot water in the shower, only in the sink. There was a musky moldy odor in the room. The A/C unit was noisy. There's no on site parking and parking in a garage is tricky and expensive. Your best option is to park on the street and use the meters in your advantage. We only use the room to sleep and shower so it was tolerable for a couple of nights, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.

If you understand that this hotel is rather old, it is okay for a night. There are bars downstairs with outside seating. The bars close at 3am and that’s when you can fall asleep. The water pressure was lacking something fierce. It felt like a sprinkler with a kink in the hose. The staff was great! I don’t think I’d stay again because of the noise and the room feel.

Was put on the 3rd floor. The carpeting was disgusting and smelled in the hallway. Had to change rooms twice. First room, no fridge and phone didn't work. Second room the AC could not cool the room down. No microwaves in any rooms. Next day went out for breakfast only to return and my room card would not unlock the door. After two trips to the front desk, the person working had to use his master card to open the door. After returning from dinner was my room card re-keyed and finally worked. I feel like since I used Expedia which provided a lower room rate, they put those of us on a crappy floor or in rooms with zero view. My view was the backside of the building next door. Great location in the downtown area, but that was just about it for my stay. Rooms clean, but tiny bathrooms.

Before even entering the property, I could tell that I had made a mistake. This is a One-Star Property, not Three-Star. In fact two stars even would even be laughable. There was no clear sign for the where the entrance was, and then a landscaper pointed me to a random door that could have been an entrance to anywhere. I opened it and the front desk person immediately knew who I was and was being quite weird about, saying “I was hoping you’d come early so I can now go take a nap,” which is not very professional. The room had a very dirty wooden floor, so I did not dare take off my shoes off. The water from the sink was barely functioning and the bed sheets and towels still had stains and even hair on them from prior visitors. I did not even consider getting into the shower, which was clearly not cleaned. Half the windows were cracked and at night I could not sleep because of the noise of the A/C unit, which was still barely functioning. I just prayed there were no bed bugs with how dirty the sheets were. There was nobody available to change them when I went to the lobby at night. There was a TV but it was angled away from the bed in the corner, so you could barely see the screen unless you were sitting on the floor. You also needed an Apple TV subscription to watch. Felt uncomfortable leaving the room because there was also no safe. Not an understatement when I say it’s the worst hotel I’ve stayed in in my life.

    2. The lady in male throughout my stay did not acknowledge nor address me like a other hotels they nod and say hello at least. 3. The hotel is historic AKA very very very old.. decrepit. The rooms do not have a microwave. The building has one microwave which is on the second floor. 4. The bathroom gets a one star. It's tiny. I'm not a large person by any means and I think it was tiny. Probably the size of a closet. 5. The strip that it was on was very busy and bustling. That being said Thursday through Saturday was loud. It's a club scene. Lots of music lots of people standing outside in lines. 6. Zero parking. You have to park across the street or find a parking garage which I was told would be $9 a day. However if you're coming back to the hotel to sleep you're then considered overnight which then is a double charge. I spent a lot of money on parking due to this. I definitely would not stay here again and I do not recommend anyone else to stay here.

Staff is welcoming, and responsive. This is an old, historic building, so if you appreciate the value, location, and staff, then the shortcomings of a slow elevator, less than sparkling clean bathrooms, and slow hot water are acceptable. The guy at the front Desk was very polite and welcoming. I believe his name was Ahmed. He said it was his 2nd day. He was great! The parking situation sucks but it's not their fault, that's just St. Pete in general. The elevator was not working so using the stairs wasn't my favorite part of the stay. We will stay for an overnight trip but maybe not for a weekend. The bed was older feeling, bouncy, and my wife and I were rolling into each other due to the valley in the middle of the mattress. The smoke detector was covered in a bag so if there was a problem we may not have known. Other than that, the staff was awesome, the room was exactly what we needed for an overnight stay. We could stay again, if the elevator worked.

An alternative was offered by decided to stay due to its convenient location to where we planned to go.
