Reviews
The Bristol Hotel is a historic, boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Guests appreciate the hotel's convenient location, friendly staff, and comfortable beds. However, the hotel's small rooms, outdated bathrooms, and occasional cleanliness issues are frequent complaints.
- Convenient downtown location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Small rooms with limited storage space
- Outdated bathrooms and occasional cleanliness issues

Historic hotel, great location and convenient parking. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great welcoming, great placement, and amazing staff, cozy rooms!
- 2/5
There was no air conditioning unfortunately due to the time of year. The rooms are very small. The view is of a parking lot. And its more expensive then if we stayed on mountain at a modern resort.
- 2/5
Great location for skiing but very loud at night- lots of sounds from both inside and outside the hotel. Also experienced some weird leaking from the toilet. Hot tub had a great view but was not warm at all
- 5/5
Great spot right on downtown Steamboat.

It was great! Awesome location, staff was great. And the rooms were nice and very clean. 5/5

This place has gone downhill. Stay somewhere else.

everything was great

No ventilation in bathrooms which led to overnight soggy towels. Curtain rack is not affixed properly with anchors, tiles cracking. Curtain rod in bathroom hanging low on one side due to lack of anchors. shower control faucet not caulked into tiling, makes it shakey and heavens knows where the excess water is going inside the building. No curtain rods in the room, had to hang on door hangers, of which several arms were broken. Magazine rack hanging to one side due to once again, being drilled into concrete walls without anchors. Bristol's rooms are very much worth over 100$. However If you get them in peak season at over 300$~ be expected to be disappointed for the cost.

Great location, easy parking, nice staff. But rooms really small with no sitting space.
- 4/5
We were allowed to check in early, desk very helpful, and room clean
- 5/5
Great staff
- 2/5
Room was super small and tight for family of 4. The photos online do not represent what the room actually looked like. It was old and falling apart for the price we were paying it was not worth the money.

Great location and fantastic staff. Lovely hotel. ❤️

Great location and friendly staff

Spotless, vintage with modern amenities.
- 4/5
A little ragged, but has some old school charm. Not bad.
- 5/5
Great room, helpful staff

Great places to stay
- 2/5
The staff was friendly and helpful and location is nice. The rooms are in disrepair and not worth the price they are charging . There is mildew in showers. Shower curtains need to be replaced. Walls are dirty, carpets dingy. This place needs a complete overhaul. Would not recommend . Complete overpriced disappointment.

Nice little hotel in the heart of steamboat springs. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable with warm steam radiators! 🙂
- 5/5
Great old hotel with character in the heart of town. Very friendly staff.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The location is great. Due to this being a historical building, the bathroom was tiny and had no storage and barely any place to hang a towel. Also, the hot tub wasn't hot (just warm) and the jets didn't work.
- 4/5
Very friendly they gave us late checkout. It was hard carrying bags upstairs where many rooms are.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Right downtown

Initially, the room we were assigned was extremely tight for a King size bed room. Had we known, we would have paid less for a double room suite. When we got to our room we found that our sink was not draining. We told the front desk and they moved us to another room right away. We got moved across the hall to a double room suite which was much more spacious. It was an odd setup since it is an older hotel - you had to go through the bathroom to reach the 2nd room/living room area. The hotel is under new management so they're still working through the kinks and figuring out what needs fixing. Appreciated their quick action. We only stayed 1 night, but it was a comfortable stay and bedroom. We were on the 1st floor so only view was the parking lot. They do have a hot tub but hours were 10a-10p so we didn't get a chance to try it based on our plans.

If you're into small, Europen-type hotels in the heart of town, the Bristol is for you. It's a 1940s-era building with all the quirks you might anticipate--smallish rooms, limited counter space, etc. However, it also has all the ambience of an inn you might find in Austria--library-like lobby, fireplace, sounds coming in from the street, etc. A handfull of larger rooms are available for familes. If you've had it with Hampton Inns, Holidan Inn Expresses, etc., then the Bristol just might be your cup of tea.

Nice old hotel character. Clean. Lovely coming areas with fresh scones for breakfast. Walk to restaurants and shopping. Rooms small - lots of character.
- 5/5
Cool funky old hotel nicely done up. We had two beds (for some reason it was cheaper than a king) so the layout was quirky but worked out fine. Very nice and friendly staff, in a great location with easy access parking. A little spendy but it is in Steamboat so that should be expected.

There is no alarm clock in the room. There is one kureg for the whole hotel. The coffee lone in the morning is not worth the wait. my unit was the only one with out cable tv. I was not i formed of this till i asked about it. Hotel staff is not on site past 8pm so if yiu need anything you have to call a security company. Kind if a weird ask for extra towels. It was hard to stay here.

Great staff. I’ll definitely visit again!
- 4/5
Great location. Quaint and historical. Hot tub cooler than bath water.Tacked on 20 bucks at check in for parking! Tout scones and coffee in the morning. No scones so far. We like the Bristol but think it’s a little over priced these days.

This hotel is an absolute gem! Not only is it lovely, quaint, and beautifully maintained, but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The customer service was truly above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced – every staff member went out of their way to make sure my stay was perfect. The breakfast snacks were outstanding and a wonderful touch that made the mornings even better. Overall, this was an excellent experience, and I will absolutely recommend this hotel to others. I look forward to staying here again the next time I’m in town!

This quaint little hotel in the heart of Steamboat was perfect for our girls getaway trip. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We were able to walk to everything. A great choice in downtown Steambaot!

I loved the quaintness of this place. It was a bit pricey, but overall lovely thank you

Comfy and quaint, great location

Bath rooms need upgrading.
- 5/5
Adorable hotel right in the center of downtown. The rooms are small but for my husband and I for 3 days it was just fine. The staff is very nice and helpful. They had free bikes available to borrow and a water cooler in the lobby. The water was an unexpected bonus. We were able to easily fill up water bottles and bladders before hikes without having to go buy water. Great hotel, I'd absolutely stay again!
- 3/5
It's convenient to down town.
- 5/5
old, but updated and quirky
- 3/5
Very unique old property, my room was actually 2 rooms? Because of a shared shower/bath. One room older but fine, bed good and AC worked great, the other room had a missing tall mirror with all the glue showing the room was warmer. The shared bath shower wasn't very clean! Property in great area for shopping and dining, right next to Harwigs, a great restaurant when open. Some staff great another seemed rude to myself and others. Fees payable at checkin were higher than app had said, they were going to let their manager know. Convenient parking.
- 4/5
Perfect location downtown, nothing fancy and an odd room layout for 3 people but it worked. Great for a night or two
- 1/5
This hotel was dingy and poorly maintained. We were very disappointed. Our room was tiny, with a tiny tv and a tiny bathroom which hadn’t been thorough cleaned in what seemed like years. For more than $300 per night, this is a complete rip off.
- 5/5
Perfection everywhere you turn.
- 5/5
From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. I am forgetting her name, I feel she is the senior front desk person. She provided all the features of the hotel as well as dining tips. The rooms were very nice and the beds were great. Will be returning to the Bristol hotel again. Thanks

Stay was fine, but the room is a room and priced too high for what you get. Very small

Great location

Perfect location. Walking distance to shops, cafes, bookstores, restaurants and the rodeo. Even though it's on a main street, we were facing the parking lot, so we didn't hear the traffic noise. The younger staff member was very eager to be helpful, lending us an iron for our stay. We opted out of housekeeping for our stay which may have been a mistake because my allergies got progressively worse. A daily vaccuuming may have been helpful. I also noticed the hallway carpet seemed like it wasn't vaccuumed daily. There was an older staff member from whom we asked for extra wash cloths and pillowcases. I could tell she was reluctant to get the items for us.

Very comfortable bed and a really good air conditioner… location close to a great Italian restaurant right next door
- 4/5
Nice location. Easy convenient parking along side the building. Short walk to restaurants and shopping as well as to the park and the trail by the river. The room was clean and had all the amenities you would need, but this is an old building and the room was very small. My wife and I and our two full-size dogs were a little squished, but we were only there for one night so it was managable.

This vintage hotel is like stepping back in history. It is not for those who must have all modern furnishings, but for the more adventurous traveler it is a lot of fun.

We enjoy the vintage feel of this property. It may not have all the features of a modern hotel but we had everything we needed

Charming hotel in great location in town centre. Bed was comfy, nice linens, nice towels and aircon in the room. No elevator and rooms were very small. No breakfast available. Also queen bed in room, just not big enough in a luxurious hotel.
- 1/5
I didn't like the room, it was very small, you can barely take a shower, the small room is so small that it's a shower, and the bed is old and uncomfortable.

The hotel location was amazing; very central. Additionally, the staff was very friendly and the bed was comfy. The bathroom didn't look like the photos. The shower was tiny and plastic and felt like it was from a cheap hotel. I know Steamboat is expensive but for $300/night I expected more. The bed was also elevated very high, with storage underneath. This made it difficult to get in and out. We didn't use the TV but many cables were hanging from the TV. Didn't look the most presentable.

We had a pleasant stay at the Bristol. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The location was fantastic, with convenient parking. The breakfast was simple. While the room was cozy, it was on the smaller side. Some cosmetic upgrades are needed but didn't impact our overall experience.

Location on main Lincoln, great spot. Parking free. Very minimal b'fast offerings..... coffee, cereal, milk. Yogurt not readily provided. No fruit, muffins, etc. Just not a welcoming start to the day. BA sink drain not working. TV difficult to comprehend two remotes. Room rather cramped.

The AC in our room wasn’t working & the heat was blasting when we got there. We were able to turn the heat off but it took a while for the room to cool down. We also tried opening the window but it appeared the lock had been broken off, so it took us about 30 min to eventually open the window using the strength of 4 people. We tried calling the after hours telephone number but they said they couldn’t help us, which wasn’t a great experience. If we hadn’t eventually gotten the window open, it would’ve been way too hot to sleep in there. The walls were also super thin so it was quite noisy.

Location, double room set up is perfect for families, community room was great, staff was very friendly, it feels like they want you to feel like you are part of a family not just a guest. Only small issue was a drain that was slow to drain.

Great location, very comfortable, easy to hang out there.

old fashioned charm nothing

Great hotel. The rooms exceeded me expectations. I'm not kidding. It was great. I will definitely use them again
- 3/5
Location was great because you can walk everywhere in downtown. It didn’t look anything like the pictures. I get it’s an old hotel but pictures threw us off. Small room with no room to move around or set stuff on. Tiny shower. I’m 6’1 and my head was level with shower head. Curtain didn’t work good so water leaked on floor. No vent in bathroom so probably mold in walls.
- 3.5/5
In the middle of downtown. Close proximity, walking distance, to many shops, restaurants and Howelsen Hill Ski area. Fresh scones every morning at 8:30. Very outdated. No air conditioning. I’m pregnant and had to open the window every night due to no A/C and how hot it got in the room. Because the hotel is downtown, it stays very loud at all hours of the night making it difficult to sleep with the window open. Hot tub very green the first couple nights.
- 4/5
staff & location too small a room
- 5/5
On-site parking. Super comfortable beds Front desk is only available 8 to 8. So if anything goes wrong after you’re on your own.

The room smelled like cigarette smoke causing a headache and difficulty sleeping. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room.

Great location in centre of town. Staff member at check in very friendly and helpful Room was very small and dated, no sign of breakfast or staff in the morning.
