Good for the price. Rooms were clean and we had daily maid service. Although maintained well the property is old and tired. The bed was extremely firm but not as uncomfortable as I’d feared. Pillows were ok but luckily we had brought our own.the 2 chairs in the room looked well used and ready for reupholstering. Parking was weird, you parked parallel to the curb but it worked out. I don’t think I’d stay here again but it was adequate.

Parking can be a bit tricky but it's nice to be able to park right outside your room door. Upon arrival someone elses belongings were in the room initially given, but the staff quickly remedied that by giving me a new room. Considering the close proximity to El Camino Real, it was quiet.

5-stars for very friendly check-in, nice smile, warm demeanor, explained a bit of the properties history, and I liked the plants and flowers around the property. Unfortunately, looks like the owners tried to ruin the rooms by modernizing with cheap crappy particle wood furniture and ugly yellow paint; the room I had was like gross motel-6; it had cheap particle wood furniture with some edges coming off, the room was mostly clean but, but the wall heater was dirty both inside and outside (yes, you can clean outside too!) , the doors were dirty around the door knobs and below, the baseboards not clean, the various nice plants around the property needed pruning to neaten-up especially the rose bushes and I saw some plants in these cheap plastic planters, bad look. There was some crap outside in the back part, like a tall orange cone, a ladder, and a plant bed that looked like it was falling apart. So, I say all of this because the Wittle has great wonderful interesting history dating back to the 1900's, and It just does not look like the rooms or property have been kept up to retain the period-correct style, and why not? The owners could get more business and rave reviews if they changed out the furniture for vintage, also painted one wall a nice rich ruby, and the remaining an off-white, and hung vintage pictures as well. The bed was also uncomfortable, very cheap, cutting corners. Probably wont stay again unfortunately. Thank you

It was my first time staying here and from the outside pictures it looked a little old or small. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The owner run a tight ship so there is no loudness or partying. It was very quiet and I could sleep well. It's hard to find a hotel with cold airconditioning, but this was the first hotel I have been to in the area that had actual cold AC that worked. It was great! The room is very basic but the bed was comfortable, and they provided 2 bottles of water a day, coffee packets, and they emptied the trash and brought fresh towels and made up the room daily without having to ask for it. The rooms were very, very clean. It was definitely cleaner than other hotels in the area that were sufficient, but this felt very clean and I could smell clorine in the bathroom that was used to clean. It's in a GREAT location to walk to the Caltrain, to downtown Sunnyvale Murphy street, and up to El Camino to Trade Joe's, Starbuck's, Peets, and a lot of other markets, restaurants, and businesses. I took the Caltrain to several appointments. One minor drawback is each time I called an Uber, I would have 4-5 Ubers keep canceling because they missed the turn (it's a quick turn right before a major intersection so can be hard to see). It was annoying because I was late a couple times from waiting for ubers who would cancel at the last minute. I figured out I had to go up to El Camino or walk a block over so that ubers didn't miss the road or cancel. Otherwise, great!

It's easy to pass by this little in and not even realize The Wittle Inn is there. Snuggled in a neighborhood near downtown Sunnyvale and less than a block off a main drag, it's an easy walk to lots of restaurants and shops making its location extremely convenient. The room I stayed in was like a bungalow with safe parking literally right next to the door of the room. You'll find most of the amenities of a 5 star hotel, and everything worked. Check in was quick and efficient. The ONLY issue I had was with the strong odor of cleaning products, but after running the fan a bit, it dissipated (or I got used to it). Do I recommend this hotel? Yep. Absolutely! I mean, I can officially claim I stayed in what used to be a chicken farm almost a century ago!!

I am a lifetime Titanium Elite member of Marriott and prefer staying at one of their many choices of properties. This little boutique hotel was clean, comfortable, and the owner was accommodating. It did not have an ice-machine, however, the owner delivered 2 bags of ice. I needed to be in Los Altos one day and the other day in Santa Clara. Both drives were less than 15 minutes making this an ideal location. I was able to park right in front of my unit and that was totally convenient. There was a refrigerator, microwave, tv mounted on the wall, desk with an excellent lamp, excellent shower pressure and hot water, and the bed was comfortable. It is no Ritz Carlton but it was as comfortable as any Fairfield or Courtyard I have stayed. I will return when my business takes me to this area as the rate was extremely reasonable unlike the aforementioned properties.

I love that it was small and quiet and I was able to sleep very well. I love the neighborhood and how safe and cute it was. Across the street there’s great quick options like Pete’s coffee and lots of fast food restaurants but if you’re willing to walk 10 minutes there’s a sweet old part of town where there’s lots of great restaurants, there was music playing in the street and it was just a really fun atmosphere.

Didn't even realize it had a kitchen with a range/oven and so would be good on extended stays. Everything was very clean; the floors were immaculate. It's not a high-end hotel by any means, but it was very, very nice. Feb. 2019

The proprietor was a real gentleman. He volunteered to help me repair my vehicle window after it has been burgalarized in buttonhole CA.

We were here for just one night. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find extra power outlets on the top of both nightstands (something I wish there was more of in higher-end hotels/motels). The only issue was the smell of ammonia was so strong that we had to open the front and bathroom windows and then run the fan on the AC unit all night to circulate enough fresh air to make it bearable. The location is great for access to downtown Sunnyvale and lots of places to eat.

Decent hotel for one night. Bedding needs updating. Pillows were flat, bed way too hard. Towels older and scratchy. Staff was friendly. Neat looking hotel. Need to raise rates $25-$50 per night and update bedding and towels.

I stayed for one night on a business trip and discovered this little gem. It’s off of the busy El Camino Real but not on it. It makes a much quieter location without the noise. Reasonable rates and convenient location to Silicon Valley. Will stay again.

This is an old motor hotel from the 1930s with just 10 rooms. The owners live in the front unit, so you have to ring the doorbell to check in. The rooms are clean, with small refrigerators and free WiFi that tested out at 40 MBPS for me. Most large hotels' free WiFi is 1.5 MBPS, and they charge $12 to $20 per day for up to 5 MBPS. The hotel is also a block away from restaurants and coffee shops, and just 1/2 mile from Historic Murphy Street in Sunnyvale. My room cost $165 per night, compared to the nearby Aloft, which wanted $495 per night, and other hotels in the area that all started at $300. So this is a good place to stay if you're on a tight budget. The Whittle is a completely different animal from Aloft or any other chain hotel though, so go in with the right expectations

The room had an odd smell, presumably from the cleaning products used. The bed was pretty hard and cleaning crew missed some areas.

Not a 5-Star resort but for the price it’s a decent place to stay
