Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the cleanliness of the rooms. The hotel's location is also frequently praised for its proximity to local attractions. However, several guests have complained about the noise levels, particularly from traffic and nearby events. The lack of available parking and the high cost of valet parking are also common complaints.

The evening Reception staff was very professional and welcoming, as were the Valet and the Barista and the staff cleaning the pool!!
- 5/5
Front desk was amazing. Came in for a convention and as a first timer in Tampa the front desk worker was amazing and helped me out greatly with things to do and where to go.
- 5/5
Loved it but noisy road outside at night.
- 5/5
Came to visit the University of Tampa with my daughter and selected this location because it was close. Hotel was clean and staff always greeted us when we came through the door. Rooms were clean!
- 5/5
I was able to check in early. The room was well appointed and the staff were hospitable.
- 3/5
El hotel se veia descuidado y sucio las sábanas
- 5/5
Only option for parking was Valet and a Lot across the street you had to have an app and pay for. However you are in downtown!
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
I absolutely enjoyed my stay here
- 4/5
Hotel is in downtown area so valet parking is best but sometimes there was no one at the podium. Confusing when first arrive as not sure where to park. Coffee shop in lobby closes at 10:30a even though I may need coffee all day.
- 5/5
The lighting in the sink area, where my wife was trying to get ready to go out on the town was dark in that area.no TV guidefor the television . put some sunscreen onstaff was very nice and helpful
- 5/5
Great stay, friendly staff.
- 4/5
Upon arrival the room was clean and tidy did not have any problems with getting extra towels or another needed for the room. The staff was very nice . The valet parking was good it did not take long to get car coming from inside hotel or coming back to get car parked. Everyone was nice and professional. It was very pleasant and quiet at this property.
- 3/5
I didn’t sleep a wink. The outside noise and the neighbors kids parting was a real bad way to disappoint our once and a blue moon get away.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 3/5
The hotel is in a great area right in the middle of downtown, lots of restaurants and things to do. Parking is only valet and it is $43 dollars a night. I have stayed here before a couple years ago and this time i could see a big difference regarding cleanliness. The room had stains on the carpet, rooms needed to be clean a little better. The mattress was not comfortable at all, it had a huge dip in the middle. It is ok for a short stay but maybe for the price i can find something a little better.
- 4/5
The parking lot across the street has some loitering people who looked a little scary and actually approached me and my daughter even before we left the car. The man might not have done anything to us but he appeared to be unpredictable. We ended up leaving our prepaid parking space and finding a garage down the street. This is not the hotel’s fault but just a heads up for other travellers.

The cleanliness Parking but there are other options

The staffs were very welcoming and helpful. The room and common area were kept clean. In general, I had a comfortable and peaceful stay. The location was great for walking and taking public buses. However, there were stains and residues near the sink and shower room faucet, as well as on the floor of the bathrooms. The coffee machine was missing the filter tray so I could not make coffee one morning.

Superb
- 4/5
Building outdated
- 5/5
There is no breakfast or coffee provided so everything has to be bought. Staff was fantastic and very accommodating. Location was perfect for Straz Center, River Walk, Art Museum.
- 5/5
Only stayed one night on a business trip. Room, staff and location was great.
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious.
- 4/5
Parking is at premium price. $25 you park across street, $40 valet
- 3/5
Very loud at night outside the hotel, one of the elevators was out of order.
- 4/5
The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was extremely helpful and so nice. I would say the only negative thing was how loud it was at night. They should put in soundproof glass, but other than that it was a great stay.
- 5/5
The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in.
- 4/5
Only negative is the street outside was isn't quiet at night
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 3/5
Room was clean, spacious and beds were very comfortable. Staff was friendly however had to wait an hour after checkin time because room was not ready. Parking is horrible. The hitel only has limited valet. The hotel itself has no parking. There is a public lot across the street which was full and we had to wait for someone to leave.
- 3/5
Parking was easy and the staff were very nice.however the bed was not good at all and the toilet seat was too low and wobbly.no hand rail to help get up.you had no hot tub as you advertised.overall;the room was nice to have as my husband was in hospital.staff was great!
- 2/5
The carpet in the room was filthy. The A/C was old and made noises. The room smelled bad. There was no breakfast. First Marriot I go to that doesn't offer breakfast.
- 4.5/5

- 5/5
Clean room parking staff breakfast great!
- 4/5
Over all it was fine. The shower really needed to be replaced and the lack of parking and having to pay 45$ to valet park the car really sucks.
- 1/5
They charged me for a canceled hotel and now I’m stuck with a bill for a hotel I NEVER checked into
- 3/5
The hotel was close to the Riverwalk which we walked multiple times, as well as walking to the aquarium (30min) with a number of bars and restaurants near by.
- 5/5
The location was great and had a nice lounge and coffee bar in the lobby, really enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Later, we realized there is a parking lot directly in front of the hotel for $25 per day, which would have been much more convenient. On a positive note, possibly because of the inconvenience and delay, the hotel kindly covered our Uber ride to the Convention Center.
- 5/5
Great place to stay and great location to get around Tampa.
- 5/5
Anastasia recommended a taxi for us to the cruise terminal that showed up on time.
- 5/5
Our second stay here. Loved it.

Clean room, nice view, really good experience.
- 1/5
They moved my reservation to a hotel 5 miles away without any prior notification until i showed up to checkin. Fed me a line about flooding. My friend was able to check in. The hotel they moved me to didnt have the room type i had booked and was not walking distance to the event i was attending. Also refused to reimburse me for the parking i paid for.
- 4/5
The staff was really nice. The location is convenient. The rooms are decent, but a bit dated. Everything was clean. Overall a good hotel.
- 5/5
The room especially the bedding was super clean and it was easy to relax after a long day. The staff were super nice at check in and overall it was a nice stay.

Nice staff and location
- 5/5
Easy check in, room was good. Close to restaurants, art museum and river walk. Short uber ride to cruise port. Breakfast on site is good. Area is noisy because of the main road.

Yes it was a great stay... I do have a question? Can you send me a receipt of my stay???
- 5/5
The room was very clean and spacious.
- 2/5
Booked a weekend stay to get away on a cruise and had to come in a day earlier, staff wasn’t very accommodating, the. Received a room that was not what I expected upon booking. There was no room service the entire 3 day stay, had to ask for new pillows, never received those or new towels in the bathroom. Overall wouldn’t be back here.
- 5/5
Anastasia made the check-in experience flawless
- 5/5
The staff was amazing helpful. I really appreciate them.
- 2/5
Windows in my room were green with mold so didn't really want to look out them. Faculty (check in) was very kind and accommodating but the hotel is NOT desirable...especially for the price.
- 2/5
Yes the room was dated..Dirty..The bed is wore out and fimbsly..Hallways in coridor dirty..We were dissatifeid with our stay.
- 4/5
Pool was small with no direct sun. And no parking other than valet- public parking lot across street for a fee but very busy street to cross with luggage
- 4/5
Very close to University of Tampa and Straz Performance Center. River walk had easy access Pool was small with no direct sun. And no parking other than valet- public parking lot across street for a fee but very busy street to cross with luggage
- 5/5
Great room and great location A+++
- 2.5/5
The location was great and the staff was vey accommodating and kind Older hotel, smelled a bit had to change rooms. Amenities were not great
- 4/5
Did not take advantage of the breakfast so can’t comment on that I will say the comforter/bedspread had blood stains on it, minimal, but it made me wonder if it was fresh for a new guest or if they use the same one for a while I did not call down to the front desk, cause I really didn’t have the time but still kind of gross. Other than that. It was great I may or may not stay again.
- 5/5
Team member Charles was very professional, courteous, and welcoming.
- 4/5
room ok, very noisey outside as room faced main street
- 3/5
El hotel es pasable pero el servicio de valet no sirve , la pase super mal por ellos no querer parquear mi van al final la devolví en el rent car por no tener parqueo el hotel todo un desastre en esa parte
- 5/5

- 5/5
Beautiful facility! I’d stay here again. The rooms were immaculate. The staff was so helpful!
- 4/5
Ballet and front desk staff were very hospitable.
- 5/5
Valet was Awesome, James made check-in a breeze, and the hotel (along with my room) is very clean.
- 4/5
Staff was very courteous they was the biggest plus!
- 3/5
Provide coffee in the room, but no sugar creamer or stirring stick. What’s the point?
- 4/5
Room was Great! Bed too soft.
- 5/5
I wasn't offered free breakfast but did buy at Starbucks. The lady working at Starbucks was very nice and super friendly. I wasn't overly impressed by the bartender. The rest of the staff was great from entering to housekeeping.
- 2/5
I oarked in the garage that is clearly marked for your hotel and because i parked in a spot that had no signage my car was towed. I was told there was no parking available. How can you have a $300 per night hotel and NO PARKING. No one let us know we were not supposed to park there. It cost $280 to get my car after it was parked for just 30 minutes. I will never stay there again and be sure to.tell as many people as possible about this experience.
- 5/5
All good, 100% recomended.
- 1/5
I have to say when we checked in the front desk was very short and impatient with us. He was very rude and made us feel very unwelcomed. He was nice to the other people, but didn’t even say hello to us. We asked if he was ready for us and he was very rude.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Clean room, and staff were very attentive to needs of my changing schedule even close to the accommodation date
- 5/5
Thebstaff was great. Anastasia and Kim were very kind and effective
- 2/5
We booked and paid for a King Bed. When we checked in we were informed they did not have any Rooms with a King Bed available. They told us it was because we booked through a 3rd party. Our reservation was for 2 nights. In order to move to a King room the next day we had to pack up our room the next day and they would then let us know when the new room was available. Which is was and we did have a King the 2nd night. The hotel seemed severly understaffed and less than helpful.
- 3/5
I will tell you that on one hand, I like the location and convenience to the Riverwalk and down town. On the hand I don't. Unfortunately I got very little sleep there due to all of the late night street racing in neighborhood. And, it is because of that, that I would choose another Marriott location in the Tampa area next time.
- 4/5
Courteous and helpful staff.
- 1/5
No room service, ice, restaurant, porter to take my bags to the room. No tv guide on the tv, I had no idea what was on. Room wasn’t cleaned.
- 5/5
Valet guys were amazing.
- 3/5
Check in system was down
- 3/5
Terrible service point…..
- 5/5
Proximity to sport arena
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and our room was clean and the beds - comfortable!
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was very friendly. Loved the balcony. Glass maybe need to be changed to some sound proof ones downtown is loud at night. I slept pretty well though considering. Shower had some mold around the edges though. And the plugs could be updated. I had a C type wire no C Type plugs. I would absolutely stay here again. No complaints on that. Pool looked nice and heated wish I had time to get in.
- 3/5
Not quite the experience that I would like to talk about however Anastasia was overall amazing and although my experience with every other team member was extremely rude and unprofessional
- 5/5
Awesome stay
- 4/5
Anastasia at the front desk was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating!
- 5/5
Bathroom smelled nasty
- 3/5
Stains on floor & furniture. Needed to ask for sheets & towels even though reservation said 3 people.. No hooks for clothes in the bathroom, must put on toilet or floor. Parking in a public lot is $30 day or valet $40 plus. Garbage not removed from room during the 3 days there.
- 3/5
Great staff but needs more cleanliness
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 2/5
We wouldn’t come back.
- 3/5
Not as clean as expected and a bit old looking on the interior of room.
- 5/5
It was good!
- 1/5
Dirty
- 2/5
$40 for valet was a surprise since the website only said valet available, not required. $50 incidental deposit also not disclosed on the website when booking the room.. I will avoid your hotel chain in the future.
- 5/5
Friendly front desk. Super sweet and nice!
- 3/5
The room was clean and the beds comfortable but the room smelled like mold. Once the AC unit was running cooler it smelled less so, but it wasn’t where I wanted to hangout. If you need to be close to UTampa then this hotel was perfect. I was there in under two minutes and you could walk too if you wanted to. Many places to eat near by and it’s a quick walk to the waterfront and the Tampa Art museum, both are really nice stops if you have extra time. There is a pool but very small and in between buildings. More for kids to burn off energy than for adults.
- 5/5
Nice room. Interesting little balcony
- 4/5
Great staff.
- 3/5
The room was not great in design.
- 2/5
was told to park in the parking garage, got towed, next day they tell us its vallet only for the garage for $40 a day 🙄 . not to mention fridge did not cool, ac barely worked in room, ice machines were just random bags of ice in a fridge in the hallway. stay next door at the residence inn.. the lobby was a total 180 experience and sad every time i walked through that i did not stay there
- 2/5
When I checked in for a late arrival, my room was extremely musty smelling. I found that the in-wall floor air conditioner was leaking water onto the carpet from underneath. The system also made loud, rustling sounds throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. The bathroom floor was also dirty when I checked in. The furniture was falling apart in one section and looked extremely outdated. The toulet would not stop running after flushing it. Overall, this hotel needs some serious work and updating. I hope this review is taken seriously.
- 4/5
Thank you all for your services.
- 4/5
Not much of anything nearby. No amenities to your guests such as free bagels, toast cereal breakfast discounts on drinks food Nothing Bathroom has No counter space at all no hooks or anything
- 2/5
reserved 2 rooms in August for 4 adults through hotels.com. You emailed me morning of check in and asked if I'd like to check in on the internet. I tried. Your system said it couldn't find me in spite of your sending me an email at my correct email address. Trying to trouble shoot was required to download Marriott app and told I have to "join" rewards. Tried to sign up but was told that email was already registered, so couldn't sign up, so no online information available. Called the front desk and was told I had reservation one room for three people. Said there was nothing they could do because I had booked through a "third party" except book another room at more $ than I had ALREADY paid for two rooms. They said I should reach out to Expedia, who had booked with you. Expedia has no record I exist. I called again and was again told I had only one room. I looked up my Visa record and found it was Hotels.com. 12 phone calls in to you and expedia and hotels.com a kind gentleman called your front desk while I was on hold to hotels.com and took considerable effort to convince your front desk person that I DO have reservations for two rooms, one was just in the name of the other couple in spite of my booking it and paying for it. A wasted morning of anxiety and elevated blood pressure during the time I was going to leisurly pack and work on restaurant reservations. On arrival, your staff was courteous and the room was clean. There was bad water damage to the refrigerator wooden cab
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
No parking and complementary breakfast
- 3/5
Hotel does not provide parkingI’m
- 4/5
Would be great to have a self parking option
- 5/5
No issues at all!
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Comfortable beyond belief! We were only in town for a brief stay but I was very surprised at just how comfortable the accommodations were. Very clean room and inviting staff. The area around the hotel was very relaxed yet still vibrant with plenty of walkable dining options. VERY clean area in Tampa. Was genuinely surprised at how clean and nice this area of the city was. Looking forward to returning
- 5/5
Staff was great. Location was great too.
- 5/5
Fix leaking shower head, not really much ti complain about! Great time staying there!
- 3/5
Great place to stay. Unfortunately my ac only worked intermittently and was exclusively loud when it did work.
- 3/5
Too loud at night. AC not consistent.
- 3/5
Mediocre. Valet staff was very friendly and I didn’t even have a car however the rest of the staff was not very friendly or helpful. Food was overpriced for the quality but tasted good. Bags of ice on each floor instead of an ice machine, but staff did not keep it stocked. Phone in room didn’t work. Housekeeping did half a job. Made the bed but didn’t change the towels or changed the towels but didn’t make the bad. Shower still had hair in it from previous guest. Bed was comfortable and pool was quiet. Carpet felt damp.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was especially large. The valets were so friendly and helpful. The lobby was very large and comfortable. After checking out, we had a few hours before it was time to go to the airport. We found a comfortable area of the lobby with chaise lounge chairs and just rested and watched TV. I appreciated that they had ice water in the lobby. My only complaint would be that there were no ice machines. There was an ice freezer but the one on my floor never had ice in it. I later found out it was not working and there was ice on other floors, but a sign to indicate that would have been appreciated.
- 2/5
The room was disappointing, there were stains on the sheets and in the bathtub, which made it feel unclean. While the lobby and bar area downstairs were nice, the rooms did not meet the same standard. Unfortunately, this was not the level of quality I expected from a Marriott, and I would not recommend staying here.
- 2/5
The bathroom was filthy and the shower. No tissues limited toilet paper. Didn’t like it overall for several more reasons but am too tired to elaborate since no sleep with the noise!
- 4/5
They still owe me the $50 deposit that is made at check-in
- 5/5
Good time
- 5/5
Cleanliness and elegance
- 5/5
Loved it! We will stay again.
- 2/5
Very disappointed.
- 4/5
The property was very nice and very close to the concert I was going to that night. I can only say that the bed I slept on was very firm which messed with my sleep a little in a bad way. Besides that the room was nice and clean.
- 5/5
I like the staff but I didn't like the people that hung out around the hotel at night
- 5/5
The property staff, were all attentive and pleasant.
- 1/5
AC didn’t work all night couldn’t get the room cool toilet wasn’t working. I had to fix that myself when we got our room. Less desirable cleanliness inside the room.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service at front desk! Very clean!
- 3/5
The incidentals fee was deducted right away from my credit card and they told me it will take 5 to 7 days to get the fee back . Bad experience , I don’t recommend this hotel
- 1/5
Room was awful, obvious signs of mold, smelled and was damp. Stay elsewhere.
- 3/5
The hotel needs to be remodel. Shower had black staying like mold. The AC unit was very loud on/off. Called for service no one come. They didn’t clean the room they only change the towels.
- 4/5
cleaning staff missed cleaning our room 2x’s but front desk handled the issue
- 5/5
The hotel was convenient to local restaurants and not far from the cruise ship.
- 5/5
Nice and clean hotel.Convient location downtown.
- 1/5
Bathroom was in deplorable condition. Mildue
- 4/5
Convenient
- 4/5
This property has pool
- 4/5
Room was very nice. Valets were super quick, front desk was very nice only complaint was my tv didn’t work, I asked to have it fixed, not sure if they looked at, but never worked. Was only here for a short time, maybe if given more time it would have been resolved.
- 1/5
As soon as got the room a roach was walking in bathroom and the shower was dirty and didn’t drained
- 4/5
Locals great
- 5/5
Will return! Awesome hotel
- 5/5
In walking distance of a number of restaurants. Staff very friendly. Would stay there again the next time I'm in Tampa.
- 5/5
Anastasia was a great help at the front desk. She watched our luggage so we could get some coffee down the street.
- 5/5
wonderful!
- 3/5
The property was in a great location - however upon arrival we had 2 towels in the room when we were 3 people - the conditioner was empty. They did not clean the room so towels were never replenished so both days we had to ask for towels. I feel like the first day of check in we should have towels and all the shower studs should be filled. The staff was. Wet courteous and brought to us however I don’t feel like I should have had to ask.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel with friendly staff
- 2/5
Room was very hot. Told the desk person twice
- 5/5
I loved the view from the 46th floor
- 5/5
Awesome place.
- 4/5
The property was well maintained and centrally located. The build is a little older but had a slight historic feel with a modern twist.
- 5/5
The room was a bit worn looking. Stains in the carpet, stains on the tile. But it was clean. The bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning was good.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel in a great location. Perfect for concerts at Amalie Arena. Plenty of restaurants and nightlife close by.
- 4/5

- 5/5
I love this hotel. Staff are amazing, room is clean and comfortable. I will definitely come back
- 3/5
Old and dated property.
- 2/5
it was aight
- 3/5
Hotel was over priced! Spent $474.00 for 2 night stay! . No complimentary breakfast, Ice machine out, parking terrible and so expensive! Valet $40 a day. The money I spent was not worth the stay or service I received! Won’t EVER stay there again.
- 5/5
There was a very tiny but important problem with the first room we checked into. The hotel manager was super about taking care of it and giving us a second room. They really back up their service claims!
- 4/5
Stayed at this hotel while touring University of Tampa with my husband and son. Great proximity to the school. Very walkable, take advantage of distance to river walk and great restaurants. The pool is clean and refreshing. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
- 3/5
Unexpect
- 5/5
Get location, many venues and cruise port terminals nearby
- 3/5
They charge you $40 for parking woth no other options stay somewhere else
- 2/5
The room was adequate. Carpet on hallways were smelly and dirty. Staff needs better customer service training. Would not book this hotel again and will not recommend it to anyone either.
- 5/5
Beyond amazing. I worked for Hilton for 6years and this hotel is way better.
- 5/5
I was greeted upon my arrival. The staff were very friendly and polite. I will definitely be staying here again!
- 4/5
Close to everything. Stayed here for a comedy show in the Straz center. Great location.
- 4/5

Was told when we checked in breakfast was served from 6-10 went at 9 and said they werent serving breakfast anymore, went back to room and put do not disturb sign up yet house keeper knockd on door then opened before i could even reply at 10:30.
- 3/5
Rooms very dated, damaged furniture, bathroom needs maintenance (re-caulking)
- 5/5
The hotel was excellent as were the staff!
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
Great proximity to River Walk and great location in general. Negative would be no free breakfast and what’s offered is very expensive.
- 5/5
Close to all the restaurants and quick access to the highway
- 5/5
From the moment we walked in the staff was welcoming from the valet gentleman to the manager on duty. Anastasia the from the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful she alone also get 5 stars from us. Making a great impression of what we were installed for. The room was just like the pictures very nice and the bed was comfortable. Even thou we stay one night. It was the perfect stay for the event we went to that evening. The staff couldn’t make it more enjoyable.
- 5/5
Small menu for breakfast but great service and good food! Very nice staff.

Due to the inconvenience not only did he (Charles) transfer us to a new room, it was also an upgrade. The customer service was highly above my expectation, friendly, professional, and welcoming. I’d definitely stay here again. Thank you again Charles for outstanding hospitality!!!

That night I walked the area and a bad vehicle accident happened in which I had to help take care of the guy who was severely injured and I was out far past what expected . The next morning I call the front desk to ask for a late checkout and explained the accident that happened and why I slept a bit late and the front desk lady did not have a single ounce of room to extend. She was rude and hung up immediately. Extremely unhappy with this stay and baffled on how I paid the same price yet they gave me a room of less value and amenities. Staff extremely rude. Highly unpleasing stay. Surrounding area nice.
