Hyatt Place Busch Gardens

Not much. Hotel is in need of maintenance and is very aged. Staff was polite and helpful for the most part Terrible location in terms of parking; facility very aged and not well maintained. Free breakfast was not up to expectations and crowding made it impossible for the staff to keep up with refills, etc. As a result we ended up having to go out to breakfast.

Room was dirty. I had to get maintenance to come and unclog the sink because it was full of hair. I just told my wife not to look at it. It was that bad. The one day they cleaned housekeeping threw all of our clothes, clean and dirty, in the suitcase, closed it and put it away. Put all of my wife’s make up items back into her night kit and the same with My shaving kit. They charge $12 an hour for parking. We came back Saturday about 7 o’clock and all the parking was gone because of a party taking place next-door at the restaurant. I complained and they said there was nothing they could do about it. The staff always smiled, but they never got anything done. I would highly recommend never staying at this hotel.

I always like staying at this particular location. The main reason is because their beds are fantastic. The staff was very helpful and even let me switch rooms because I was not fine of the one that I was assigned. However, not a fan of their breakfast at all. I felt like their choices were sparse. It would've also been nice to have some kind of muffins or pastries. This is the only location I should say hotel that I've ever been at where this is not offered. I just did not care for their choices. So keep that in mind. Everything else was great.

First of all, the hotel is noticeably run-down: the furniture is very old, and the sofa was dirty and had a bad smell. A special kind of hotel torture is the noisy AC ?—it’s absolutely impossible to sleep at night! The persistent smell of mold in the room was also very off-putting. If you suddenly need to do some laundry, just don't go there; the laundry room will horrify you. It's not just the smell, but the overall condition of the machines—everything is in pretty sad shape.

The staff was always smiling - friendly and helpful - no matter what time of day or night. The breakfast was good, offering a variety of options. The room was too cold, even for Florida, and adjusting the temperature was a little confusing. All-in-All, I would stay here again when visiting Tampa.

This was our 3rd stay, our daughter has yearly competitions at USF which is 5 minutes away, rooms very spacious, other amenities fair, free breakfast, seating limited however, parking used to be free now 12/night,overall good for a short stay, will return due to spacious room where my daughter can practice with our keyboard

Staff was great! AC in our room did not really work, it was too hot or too cold. Hall AC did not work. Elevator was a bit a scary thought it may break. Room not cleaned stayed two nights, towels not refreshed. The room was spacious. I liked that .

Parking is $12 per day plus all applicable taxes. The bathroom was too small. The door should swing out rather than in so it made getting in the bathroom quickly a lil awkward and required tucking behind the toilet. Other than that the room was great. The bathroom concept needs to be revisted.

This Hotel should be called a Motel. The room was like being in an efficiency, AC very noisy, then cuts off in the middle of the night. Bathroom door is over 40 years old, you have to step in shower just to open the bathroom door, shower is very small. Room was however very clean, but dated and basic. No eating area inside the room, or utensils, no cups for coffee, or silverware to eat.

They had a good breakfast. The hotel is average, it needs a revamp

I was a bit put off by the fact that I had to pay $12 to park. When I went back and looked at website, it was there, but not something you would notice unless you were looking for it. I would feel better if they just added that to the price of the room instead of making it a separate charge. Too much nickel and dime-ing in the world today.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at as a family. Quiet, clean, breakfast was great, staff were very friendly and the shuttle was a great bonus. We loved the late the room was so spacious.

On top of that, the noise level was awful. The walls seemed paper-thin — we could hear everything from the hallway and neighboring rooms, making it nearly impossible to relax or get a good night’s sleep. For an expensive hotel, basic standards like cleanliness and soundproofing should be a given. Unfortunately, this stay fell far short, and I wouldn’t recommend it based on our experience.

Hot food section could be better quality wise.

Also, we were charged for a daily parking fee, this should have been noted at reservation time since the amount disclosed said includes all fees and taxes.

We stayed for the weekend and everything was great. The staff was super friendly and quick to help when I asked for extra towels and blankets. My biggest thing is cleanliness, and everything was clean and cared for. No concerns with the room. It was very nice. Breakfast was included each morning and the kitchen staff was friendly and out there the whole time cleaning up after people, making sure to keep food refreshed if it ran low. As an added bonus, there’s a restaurant right outside the hotel that you can walk to, and the food was fresh and very good. We all enjoyed it. I would stay there again.

One night stop for us. We were able to check in early for a $4 upgrade. Room was spacious, clean, very comfortable mattresses, and dark out shades. We did not get a chance to try the complimentary breakfast.

Property needs love! Specially where it's located in area that tons of vacationers come and goes daily. Breakfast area too small, not much space to accommodate big property, parking is horrendous, entrance is all broken and hidden, $12.00 daily parking fees without security, without enough parking spaces to accommodate buses, trailers, trucks or cars for these large (6) floor property. Rooms have visible humidity smell and AC unit ant antiques and noisy.

Hotel room looks very run down. Doors and walls have chips in them. Sheets had holes. Water pressure is extremely low. Look to stay elsewhere.

There was a lot of visible patchwork throughout the property, which made the hotel feel worn and poorly maintained. We stayed on the third floor, and the hallway looked almost abandoned. While the area was not dirty, it appeared very dated and clearly in need of upgrades. With some renovations and attention to detail, this location could better reflect the standards people expect from the Hyatt name.

The lady servicing the breakfast was very attentive. She was always making sure we had everything we needed it.

The property is looking extremely tired and the overall quality of the room was poor. The room clearly had not been cleaned in a while as there was dust on every surface, thick enough in some places to write your name! The air conditioning unit was huge and right next to the bed but it was also extremely LOUD! When it started up in the night it would wake us all up. The bathroom layout was poor and again looking very tired. Water pressure in the shower was not great and the tap for the sink barely hung over the sink so water just went all round the sink. The sofa bed was not left made up for our son to sleep on and we had to make it ourselves, not something we’ve ever encountered before. There was linen for the sofa bed in the wardrobe that consisted of one pillow and a duvet / sheet that more closely resembled a towel that had a very large hole in it. When we asked at reception for a proper duvet for the bed we were told no and given another of the very poor quality sheets. Breakfast was ok but one morning there was hardly any food and the next morning there was plenty. Arriving half an hour before breakfast finished shouldn’t mean that no food is being put out. The eggs and potatoes were nice, as were the waffles. We would not recommend this property and would not stay again.

The lobby was nice. However, the bar was misrepresented. Liquor was advertised but they didn’t have any to serve. There was no bartender, just the front desk staff. The elevators needed attention. The room overall was okay. The carpets need cleaning/replaced. The bathroom was horrible. No at glow on there if the AC wasn’t running. It was small and cramped. The toilet was old and small. The door was old and peeling. The shower needed fresh caulking and mildew mold removed. The ironing board needed a new cover. It was stained. The pool area could use attention as well. For the price and vicinity to a huge attraction, I would expect better accommodations.

Really liked the room & hotel but was just left disappointed with the advertisement of the bar & food menu. Promoting a full equipped bar on the website & in person but when I tried to order a cocktail, I was told they only have beers. & then tried to order food by the hostess but was told she could only start cooking the food in 30mins, mind you this was around 7pm. Hate the fact that REAL eggs are not provided at breakfast but then again I guess that's an American thing, eggs in a carton is just wild to me.

Arrived and there was painting going on in lobby that we were not informed would be taking place. Body wash container in bathroom was empty. Breakfast seemed uninspiring with little choice. Muffins or breakfast roll addition would help. Parking was easy but maybe members should get it free. Room was clean but blinds did not work.

Room was nice but on smaller side. Area not the greatest/ safe looking but they are very busy with tourist for the proximity to a theme park. I was in town for business so that didn’t apply to me. Friendly staff and comfortable bed. Breakfast pretty good. They do charge $12 a day parking which I didn’t realize. Feel that’s steep and my company prefers to not pay parking fees so I will have to factor that in for future stays.

I will lead off with the fact that the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I like to sleep with the AC to be down cold and it would not let me set it below 69° but that ended up being a chilly 69 and wasn't a problem. In my experience the Google cast feature in Hyatt hotels does not work very well and that was the same at this property. The staff was friendly and helpful. Noisy toilet and loud AC unit were my only real complaints.

Michelle at the front desk was wonderful. The reason for a 4 was this morning,1/7/26, there was a family in the hallway yelling and making noise about 1:30 am

I was so pleased with my experience at the Hyatt Place Busch Gardens. Sam was so friendly during my late night check in and really set the tone for the entire stay. The room was spotless and I was delighted that housekeeping came in each day to make the bed and restock any items I had used. The breakfast bar was full of delicious options and all the staff I encountered where accommodating and kind. I will definitely stay again on my next visit.

The room was okay. They need to be upgraded. The layout is awkward and as a result the tv is way far to the right of the beds. You have to pay to park which makes zero sense to me. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff was very courteous and the rooms were vary nice. My only complaint is that the windows need to be updated and more soundproof. I could actually hear cars form the road even though the hotel sits back off of the road or the fact that I sleep in complete silence normally.

The gym was good too had everything you need but my only complaint is the pool. Its only open sunrise to sunset so by 5 pm its locked up with a chain and padlock. It was also locked at 8 this morning too so i only got in once the 2 nights i was there. Awful pool hours. The bar also only sold what seemed like beers, no cocktails or other. I would come back:)

I would leave at 9am in the morning come back at 4pm and my room was not clean. This happened everyday of my 4 night stay. This was a horrible hotel and even more horrible experience. Tried calling to complain to manager when i returned home and never got a live voice to voice my horrible experience.

Breakfast was good for a free meal, staff were friendly and parking was easy. The rooms are spacious and clean. Only downside is the area is noisy, I was woken multiple times in the night by a sound of banging metal and noisy cars, my mother in law said a local stopped them in the car park on the way back from tea and warned them.to not be walking about outside in the evening as the area is not safe. The hotel is ideal for Busch Gardens.

Hotel is older and the rooms show it. Its clean, beds are comfortable and room was spacious. If youre looking for a hotel built after 2000, this isnt it. If you need a clean place to stay while visiting Busch Gardens, this place will get the job done. Perk is the newer Yingling brewery is across the street, it has great food and is a nice place to eat and has lots to do.

Room seemed clean. Air conditioner was extremely loud. Bathroom was so small, you had to step to side of toilet in order to close the door. Mattress had low spots and pillows were terrible. Breakfast was good.

Good location to Busch Gardens...but would not stay again...elevator broke 2 times and we had to walk up 6 flights of stairs...outdated rooms...bed had a hole..horrible wifi...and the cable hardly worked. Staff was just just like..."oh well". Have to say this was one of the worst hotel experiences.

We stay for 2 days every 2 weeks. My Mom is having treatment at Moffitt. The shuttle takes her back and forth a few times a day (while I work remote). They are always very accommodating-and the Hotel is only a short drive to the cancer center-so easy for me to pick her up at the end of the day.

The staff was very friendly and very clean. The beds were nice and cozy. Antonio was the groundskeeper, he greeted us at the door with a warm welcome and a smile. Vanessa was also an amazing person. She made sure the breakfast was hot and the area was nice and clean. Overall this hotel was truly a hidden jewel, extremely nice.

The staff was amazing. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had just gotten back from a 14 hr trip to Honolulu and they let us check in early to get some much needed rest. I will definitely be staying here again when in the area. Kudos Hyatt!

It was a very good experience staying for vacation, the views of Busch Gardens from the room were excellent and the food served in the mornings was delicious.

The beds were not very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly. They really should refresh the rooms and have more comfy bedding.

Hotel needs repairs. The units look old with ceiling damages, doors with water damage, elevators are old and slow. It close to Busch Gardens but I would not stay there again. It needs a remodeling job.

Hi we liked our stay there. It is in a good location. The room is nice and big. It was clean. It was noisy outside our room. Though. Could hear people yelling and singing outside our room. The person who checked us in took a long time to check us in. Taking a phone call in the middle of getting our key ready and checking us in. We understand sometimes are out of your control. We will stay here again.

Hotel serves a purpose and it you want a good hotel near to USF or Busch Gardens then this is a very good choice. Loads of parking and decent seized rooms but the whole place is in desperate need of a makeover. Staff were all very helpful.

The property was very clean and comfortable. The hotel desk clerk, who took us to Busch Gardens on the shuttle, was very knowledgeable about the area which made our stay more enjoyable. What I didn’t like were the wasp nests outside on the wndows. I'm not sure if they were in there, but it was still noticeable. Overall, I would give this Hyatt a 9/10 score!

There was no water and no one told us that there wasn’t going to be any water when we checked in. They knew the water was off but not convey this upon check in so we went to our room ready to shower and get ready and had to go back down to the lobby because the phone was also not working!

Outside of the blg looks nothing like the pic. It’s very worn down and dated. Also directly next to train tracks (never heard a train so don’t know if an active track or not). Area doesn’t look great and I wasn’t even comfortable leaving my vehicle in the parking lot. My room was non refundable so couldn’t cancel, but I definitely would have if I had seen area and blg in person first. Room wasn’t very clean. Sticky stuff on bathroom floor and crumbs on the carpet. Fixtures were updated, but the walls, hallways, building itself is very old and worn. Staff was nice and breakfast was great. I definitely think the outside picture is very misleading. It makes it look much nicer than it is. I will not stay at this hotel or in this area again

Everyone was very helpful with all our group (4 rooms).

The bathroom was dirty there was pink residue throughout the shower and a blonde hair as well, family has black hair and we have not showered. I arrived extremely late just decided to clean and disinfect the shower. I did take pictures. Unfortunately we were there with friends staying in the same hotel and didn't want to leave the hotel for those reason but it was very disappointed.

Staff was helpful and courteous

Staff was super friendly and helpful, the place was clean and close to parks. Loved our stay there. The only complaint I had was regarding the lack of a curtain or something thicker to cover the windows - the window only had a thin shade over it, so when the sun came up at 6something, the room was lit up bright, which woke us all up and we couldn't get back to sleep. Book a room that is not facing the east if you like to sleep past sunrise.

Dude staff. The hotel room and hallways were filthy. The bed was very uncomfortable. There was a huge spider in my room. I stayed in the 6th floor. The elevators very very slow and didn't work properly. Terrible experience.

Dirty hallway, extremely small bathroom, carved words on the stainless elevator; I hold Hyatt to high standards it was a letdown.

I didn’t like that we couldn’t enjoy the pool like we wanted due to staff saying a thunderstorm was close by but my weather alert on my device displayed something different.

Our trip began with a series of flight delays—three in total. Each time, I called the hotel to keep them updated. We were reassured by the front desk (specifically someone named Greg) that our late arrival wouldn't be an issue and that our reservation would be notated accordingly. Despite our proactive communication, we were still charged for the first night, even though we clearly communicated that we wouldn’t arrive until the next day. Upon arrival, the front desk staff claimed that the charge was necessary to "hold the room" and that we should have called if we wanted to modify the reservation—but we did call, multiple times. The lack of consideration and unwillingness to accommodate a guest under these circumstances was both frustrating and disappointing. To make matters worse, the stay itself did not live up to any expectation of what you’d expect from a Hyatt-branded property—let alone one carrying the Busch Gardens name. The breakfast was bland and unappetizing, with little flavor or variety. The elevators and hallways had a noticeable odor, and the carpets throughout the halls and in our room were stained and in need of a deep cleaning.While the proximity to Busch Gardens is a plus, that is the only thing this hotel has going for it. We would not recommend this location and definitely will not stay here again. Not a great stay.

I’d recommend this hotel to someone in the same situation. Priced right, convenient and quiet.

The first room I was checked in had roaches and smelled sour. No compensation or apology. Offer more training to latenight and overnight staff to manage these situations.

Great hotel and location but had a few problems. The shower drain smelled like rotten eggs leaving the room to smell. Also, there was a fire ant infestation in our room that was bad. We had to throw away luggage and the hotel staff were unable to help due to liability concerns.

Amazing

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. I am so happy we chose this hotel. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. The hotel had a shuttle that would take their guest to Bush Gardens and Adventure Island. The breakfast was very good and with options. I will definitely stay at this hotel when we travel to Tampa again. Thank you to all the staff.

The cleanliness & condition of the Hyatt is not what it used to be. Hotel can use renovations to improve the quality toward attracting more guests

The location was perfect for my needs (close to USF). The room and facilities were clean, the breakfast was fine, on par for what it is, and the staff was super nice and accommodating. My flight was delayed for 5 hours and I did not arrive until 230am. I called ahead and was assured it was not a problem. Once I finally got there, everything was smooth as promised. Great experience!

Exceeded my expectations

It was a nice property, the rooms were clean. The hallways and elevators were a little dirty. The hotel is set back from the main road, but located conveniently for USF and Busch Gardens.

Looked nice on the outside. Underneath all the "Lipstick" was a Pig of a run down old building. Thin walls, doors that dont open or close, filthy carpets, phones that do not work in rooms. We had 2 adjoining rooms as we brought the kids. The adjoining door would not open. We were moved from initial rooms because the front desk woman didn't know what adjoin rooms meant AND she used profanity while my whole family was standing at the desk and laughed about it. How unprofessional. The phone in my room was unfixable and was told I wouldnt have a phone for my stay of 4 days. Bottom line is" Rooms are NOT worth what your paying. There were good things as well. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of options and very clean. The staff was generally quite helpful and nice(minus profanity girl). The free hotel transit to Busch Gardens was great and will save you from paying $35 parking fee at the park. I probably wouldn't stay here again because they just don't stand out or above any other like priced hotel. The proximity to BG was great though. Their biggest downfall is the broken rooms. It was too much to overlook.

Perfect location when attending Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Minutes from the park and can see the fireworks show from the hotel. This is our go to hotel when in Tampa!

This was a horrible property, that should not have been advertised on Orbitz. The hotel was so bad, we booked reservations in St. Petersburg, the Hilton Lake Carillon. The room smelled of mildew, and the facilities were unkept. There was no way my wife and I were going to lay our heads on the pillows. Hyatt Place should invest money into this property as soon as possible.

As soon as we walk into our room, it had a peculiar odor. We were going to go downstairs and ask for another room, but it was late and we figured we would just put the air conditioner on high, so it would take care of that smell. The air condition was able to reduce the smell to almost nothing, so we stayed there. In the future, I would’ve asked for another room.

Excellent guest services ! Clean room and very close to Busch Gardens. Had a great time with my boyfriend!
