I didn’t like when you walked in the room it smells like someone else before me was smoking cigarettes nasty smell

From the front desk to housekeeping, and the valet service was outstanding

Location , the view and the comfort I was under the impression that the private beach was an actual beach but it was more like a lake so we weren’t able to get in the water . We had to drive to a nearby beach which was about 25-30 mins driving distance. Also the pool was not available for use throughout our entire stay .

My whole purpose of booking this hotel was for the amenities of pool and jet skis. The pool was closed the entire time and there were not any jet skis rentals available. The beach was not really for swimming or getting in just views

This was a great location with gorgeous views. Loved having a Starbucks in the building. I feel like they should have let us know that the pool was not open and was being repaired. That certainly makes a difference in the decision to stay with kids hoping to swim. I also had a queen room and a king room. My kids had the queen room with a beautiful large window. My king room had a small window and seemed to be on a corner, so be sure to ask for a room with a full window if you are getting a king.

Food at breakfast was excellent as was the wait staff. The room was adequate but for the lighting. Bathroom was fine, (loved the shower) The valet and self parking program is just a scam! Way too much for daily parking and the process for entrance and exit is confusing. (they give you a tiny, flimsy, easily loosable piece of paper that is used for scanning. Why not encorporate it into your room key or some plastic card?)

We stayed two nights. The room was lovely, clean and renovated. Beds were comfortable. Nice window view of the bay. Appreciated the motorized blinds and curtains. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that the key cards stopped working. 2 cards stopped working the first day, the gentleman at the front desk quickly replaced them but on the last day the 3rd card stopped working. We also didn’t love that we had to pay $29 a night for parking. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay at the Westin Tampa Bay.

Hotel was under construction and some of the amenities like parking used to be free but now they are charging to park, which is ridiculous because they have a 6 story parking building next to the hotel and mostly is empty. That was a huge bummer. Due to high cost of most everything I assume they are also trying to make a profit

We had an absolutely excellent stay! The food and drinks were on point the entire time—the breakfast was great both mornings, and the bar and restaurant did not disappoint. A huge shoutout to Andreana, who gave us the absolute best service. She took care of us at breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised to see her working the bar later that night too. They are opening a brand new pool and patio area in two weeks, which looks like it’s going to make the place even more exciting. We will definitely be back and highly recommend staying here!

I went there to enjoy a beautiful day at the pool, chill and relax. But the pool, although it looked fine, was closed. We had to lay out on the beach which had brown dirty water. We wanted to swim and chill in the pool! Also I thought that breakfast was to be included, that may have my misunderstanding. I would have chosen another hotel if I was aware that the pool was not accessible. Very disappointed!

We had several rooms and checked in at different times. The lady who checked me in initially was super friendly and accommodating but the second gentleman that checked the rest of us in, Angel, was not friendly at all. We had a great breakfast and our server was amazing! Wish the jet ski rental place was still there and pool had been available.

The elevator broke down leaving only one working elevator while there was a wedding on memorial weekend. This made going anywhere difficult. There also was a brand new pool that wasn’t ready yet so they were offering the private beach which was more like a pond. We were looking forward to renting kayaks here but there weren’t any at this location.

This is a well maintain hotel, rooms are clean, spacious, beds are comfortable. Staff is attentive, when pool is finish later this year is going to make it even better. The only thing that took the fifth star in my review are the elevators, the property have three elevators but at some point there’s only one working, which make the people wait longer that need to.

Elevators were broken. 20 minute wait was not unusual that weekend. Pool was being under construction. Nice little beach. Staff friendly. Breakfast was excellent! Rooms very clean and modern. I wish I could have given it a 5. Downside was carrying my cases ip and down 6 floors. And no pool. Although in fairness it was not in the pictures and assumed on my part.

This property was under construction which is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. However it is a beautiful facility. I enjoyed my stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was spotless.

Pool is under renovation so the idea of sitting poolside with a cocktail didn’t happen.

I chose The Westin because I stayed here previously a few years ago, and it was different. I will not be returning to this location. I am truly disappointed.

The staff was AMAZINGGGGG! The best experience ever.

Breakfast menu outstanding! Pool was closed due to renovations ,one of the elevator was not working , there was not sign posted that elevator was out of service . Got stuck on 7 floor coming down to the lobby, elevator doors will open and closed but elevator won’t move from the 7th floor . An employee said they were having issues with the elevators and that the elevator company was called however elevator was out of service until we check out Sunday morning . Traveling with a baby and stressing out with fear of getting stuck every time we took the elevator was not fun at all.

Pool was under construction, Bathroom has no fan. We ordered breakfast from the menu 1 day and got the buffet another morning and it was delicious. Aj and staff were very helpful and friendly!

The Westin advertised a beautiful pool, pool was unusable do to it was under construction. Housekeeping knock on my door before 9:00 am. Looking to clean the room: checkout is at 11:00 am. On Saturday at 12:00 pm they decided to work on their tiny private beach area. The noise from the bobcat made it hard to talk or hear music. The express elevator wasn’t in service, you had to stop at all the floor including the parking garage floors to get to your floor. They had a large religious group there, Sunday the restaurant was closed for them so we could eat breakfast there. They have no communication with the guest and clearly don’t care. I won’t stay there again and probably not us hotels.com again.

Room was clean, spacious bathroom. We really enjoyed the view of the bay. Breakfast was delicious, made to order omelettes. Cons were that the elevators were extremely slow, and we had to pay for parking. Otherwise great stay!

I was very happy with my stay at the Westin Tampa Bay. My friend and I arrived at the hotel around 11:30 am and the staff was able to accommodate our request for early check-in. I was only in town for less than 24 hours so getting in early was a big deal to me and helped us a lot. Thank you.

Staff went above and beyond for everything! Truly impeccable service from the front desk to housekeeping, and maintenance to the restaurant wait staff. Even the on-site Starbucks barista! Truly we were blown away by the hospitality. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and the view of the water was great! Private little beach on the bay was lovely, too. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of healthy options and decadent ones too. Great spot to stay overall!

I stayed in Room # 808 and I’ve never seen a housekeeper ss nice as the one servicing our floorI that alone speaks for itself! can not wait for the pool to be done is going to be amazing. If you never stayed here you are totally missing out what a wonderful place! I can’t wait return. Keep up the frat work y’all!

I had a really good experience at check in. Being greeted by my name and even was given a tour of the property. My room was over looking the water but the bathroom was not clean. This property is currently under renovation for a new pool but the beach access was a plus. Sofia at the Palmette was very nice but the valet staff ahhhh. I wasn’t prepared to be questioned the way I was and even asked to show proof I was staying at the hotel. Overall I enjoyed my time in Tampa and the view I woke up to every morning!

I really enjoy the comfort I experience when I stay at Westin. The elevators from the parking garage could work a little better but I think they are working on those. I’m looking forward to my next stay.

Upon arrival I waited at the front check-in desk for about 15 minutes as two staff members talked to each other while another guest checked in with the other receptionist who was struggling to do their job. The two staff members who were at the other check-in desk chatting did not greet me, did not say "someone will be with you in a moment sir," etc., they simply enjoyed some personal conversation and ignored me. Eventually I asked them if they could help me and they said "sorry for your wait," but this rang hollow. It ended up needing to leave the property without staying the night and was charged $203 on my card on file (in addition to what I paid on Expedia for the reservation) with zero pre-authorization or explanation (I didn't really use the room and I definitely didn't buy anything)

I recently visited the Westin in Tampa, Florida, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was warm and cozy with soft lighting and relaxed vibe that made it perfect for a casual dinner. I ordered a sad steak order that was originally for a salad. However, it was delicious. It did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly tender with and everything was well seasoned overall I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for a cozy type atmosphere with friends. We were not able to enjoy the pool. It is under construction other than that you do have a nice view and also they have a boat ride that you can get on as well as jet skis. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick getaway. I haven’t seen.

This is an absolutely beautiful property located on a private beach. Water activities (jet skiing’s, boat rentals) are on site at the property which made it convenient ! I will plan to stay here again when I come back

Every single Employee we encountered was friendly; came off as sincere. Robin at the Palmette was an awesome waitress. Even security was amazing. I hope that the standard that we experienced remains because we intend to return. Definitely would have liked a few things more but we understood that there were still some construction projects happening. But the room we stayed in was super clean, the beds an pillows were perfect and felt new. The garage looked a little indicative of aging, but it was relatively clean and well lit. I have no complaints. I just hope there are no surprises once my bill is settled. It almost just was so seamless and lovely it is hard to believe. Food at Palmette is great but limited and restaurant closes early. We got take delivery from another restaurant and we were surprised they let the door dash person up to our room. There are pros and cons to that. So I don’t have a great opinion about that. But just a FYI. DECOR felt modern and Floridian and definitely felt NEW AND CLEAN. OVERALL GOOD EXPERIENCE. Beach is faux but cute. Wouldn’t get in Bay water. But it is very cute.

Somehow the hotel failed to clean our room for the full stay! No new towels, no coffee pods, garbage cans full. When we complained, the staff at the front desk made sure to explain that was our fault since we had the no disturb sign after 12pm, when we asked about the day before, they didn’t have any answers!!! I’m very disappointed, will not recommend this hotel.

The bathroom in our room smelled terrible, the woman who checked us in on Friday morning was unwelcoming and unpleasant, and there were stains on the bedding. It was advertised and cost the rate of a 4-star hotel, but it is a 3-star at best.

we had a breakfast there. You can either do a buffet or à la carte, but it’s not complimentary. we liked made to order egg omelettes. There’s also Starbucks in the lobby, small beach and they’re adding brand new pool. Only thing that we didn’t like was thin walls, we had loud neighbors next door, they were having sex and we heard it all. You also have to pay for parking

My view of the bay was beautiful. The room was was beautiful, however, I could hear my neighbors’ conversation. I had an adjoining room and the doors were not soundproof.

Room was nice with a great view. Pool was closed for renovations but no noise at all. Only complaint was I could not easily find the rooftop area. I tried two elevators and ended up watching the sunrise from the beach.

Room overlooked the beach and bay. Updated and very comfortable. Do not eat at the restaurant. Sat for an hour waiting on our dinner. After questioning the manager, he determined the kitchen lost our ticket. Very disappointing.

When I got to my room, the keys didn’t work, so I went back to the front desk. The same staff member quickly fixed the issue and apologized profusely. He also thanked me for handling the situation calmly, which I appreciated. Overall, the service made my birthday stay very enjoyable.

Very friendly and professional staff made us feel very welcome. The newly renovated king bedroom with a Bay view was great with a very comfortable bed and generously sized shower! Sipping wine by the beach was an extra plus! Overall a great stay!

Not safe to stay in this hotel. Hotel doesn’t have PA system to let guests know what’s happening. Electricity went out and we were stuck on the 10th floor and no idea what was going on, guests were trying to call front desk and couldn’t get a hold of anybody. Tried to talk to cleaning lady to have her call her manager to let them know that electricity was out on the 10th floor since we weren’t sure if it’s just that floor but she couldn’t understand a word of English. Just a horrible experience, will not be staying at any Westin hotel again! I don’t recommend this hotel, not worth the money you pay!

I ordered a king size bed and I know it was last minute, but because I had the Expedia price they gave me a room in the corner with double beds. Hotel was nice. Staff was very friendly, but I think if you order something and you have the availability like they said you should get what you pay for.

Probably would have booked somewhere else knowing the amenities were closed . Once we got there he stated that the restaurant bar wasn’t open . Although they had food services and full bar available on the 7th floor 7-10 pm . Then after that we asked about the pool . It was closed for renovation. Ok . 3rd we asked about the private beach . Due to the renovations being done we had to walk all the way around to the side of the freeway area to get there . As stated above I wouldn’t have booked here if I knew . The room itself was very nice with a great view . Later in the evening we had issues with the tv working and the door to our room lock kept sticking open . Then at 0930am the cleaning staff knocked on the door to ask if we were leaving. That has never happened before in my travels. It was uncomfortable as I was in my pajamas. The front desk staff and breakfast was great to be on the positive side of our stay .

I don’t typically give a bad review. This Westin has problems. Especially for the price. It almost felt like they were struggling to keep the doors open. Pool not open due to construction (okay fine, happens). This wasn’t made obvious when booking. However, worse is that they really don’t have a proper dining set up. They tell you at check in that dinner and breakfast are available in rooftop “restaurant” and it’s $28 and a buffet. You get up there and they literally have a tiny table with 2 dishes to choose from! And then a mediocre dessert table. The place looked almost unfurnished. Honestly I wondered if they were going out of business. I expect way better from a Westin and from Marriott corp.

Staff was exceptional. Rooms were brand new and super clean. Pool is under construction, but other than that, the place was a gem!

The check in process was great and the rooms were very clean. The walls are very thin and you can hear all your neighbors wasn’t too pleased about that. Went to leave the parking garage and the scanner wouldn’t work the computer had to reset, spent 10 mins waiting for that to so we could leave the garage.

The room was very clean. It was really nice. I’m not sure if it was one of the renovated because the bathroom shower looked dated, but it was a beautiful room. The view was spectacular and our check-in was wonderful. The only issue the elevators were extremely slow, and unfortunately, they were having construction, but it did not dam in our stay.

The restaurant is under renovation. Room service had very few options and breakfast was subpar. We ended up getting Uber Eats for dinner and leaving the breakfast for the Starbucks onsite.

The room was very clean and the breakfast was good. I booked this hotel specifically for the private beach, but it was very unattractive, even if there wasn't any renovation in the lobby and the access to beach wasn't closed, I wouldn't recommend the hotel for the private beach.

Front desk representative was welcoming but not overly so. I asked her about walking to a drug store and she stated I couldn’t because it was a mile away. When I told her I could walk a mile, she said it was impossible because I would have to walk across the causeway. I was attending a concert at the Benchmark International Arena and asked her a question about distance between the hotel and the arena and she had never heard of the arena. A male representative next to her did a google search and gave me some information. After I deposited my luggage, I went outside and one of the bell boys told me about a convenience store within walking distance and I walked there. I think the representative who waited on me doesn’t understand what real customer care looks like. It was as if her only job was to check me in. And she also said my room number aloud and I thought that was a no-no.

The room was clean and nice, nice view of the bay. Only issue was that the door that is used to join two adjacent rooms allowed a lot of noise from my neighbors to come through and it was quite loud. Biggest issue is how they charge you to park, with very little nearby free options. The fee to park should be waived for guests, instead it’s quite expensive. Lobby smells fishy at certain times of the day, was also hoping for a more intimate hotel restaurant/bar experience, which is lacking here. Check in staff not as hospitable as the servers were. Nearby restaurant is pretty decent and onsite Starbucks is convenient.

No pool when the website there was. The beach is beautiful but the water is green and murky, can't swim in it.

At check-in, I was told there would be a $100 incidental hold, but no one explained that $100 is only a threshold. Each time you exceed that amount, an additional $100 hold is placed. I would have preferred a single $400 hold for the full stay, but was told that wasn’t an option. This should have been communicated upfront. Self-parking is $27 per night, which is fine. Just thought I would give a heads-up. The in-room Dometic refrigerator also does not cool adequately. If you have medications or perishables, they will not be kept at a safe temperature. I had to buy a cooler and rely on hotel ice to keep my child’s milk safe. Overall, clearer communication around construction, closed amenities, the authorization policy, and the refrigerator limitations would have prevented several avoidable surprises. I will visit the hotel again to enjoy the restaurant which I am told may be finished late January 2026. However, I will not be a guest again at this hotel because of refrigeration not being adequate.

They gave away the room I had reserved. The front desk said they gave it away because I booked with expedia and not direct. I will stop using Marriott.

The housekeeper pretends she cleans the room and she doesn’t. Check your sheets before you lay in your bed.

Everything as a whole was really good- the only things were us not getting the room we reserved, and parking was a bit of a hassle and cost daily which was unexpected- other than those two things we were super happy with staff and amenities

Staying at the Westin Tampa bay made me feel like I was family. The staff was so accommodating and helpful with finding options for food and entertainment. I wanted to especially thank Tiara and Ernest for their professionalism, their customer service skills are impeccable. I will definitely come back and visit whenever I’m in Tampa.

A.J. was so friendly and so helpful. A.J. helped me find some things to do locally. I didnt catch the name but there was a young man at the valet who was just as friendly. I wish some of the others were as friendly as them. The room comfortably and we enjoyed how central it was to all of our plans. We would love staying here again if in the area.

Room was clean and beds comfortable. What I cannot understand is loud music playing on the hotel speakers in the walkways outside your hotel room. It was so loud we could easily hear the music in our room. Was difficult to sleep and requested it be turned off. Took a while. Then in the morning it was back on sounding like church revival music.

We can into town for the eagles & buccs game. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very nice and helpful. We used the garage for parking and it was simple. The restaurant had pretty decent food and we enjoyed sitting outside near the water for lunch. Starbucks on site is a plus! The beds are super comfortable and the space was very clean. Not too far from everywhere that we visited while there. Will definitely book again when we come back to Tampa!

There is no pool (which makes no sense - it's Florida!) and there is a private beach that is facing the highway and really doesnt offer much. It's very small and there is "no guarantee there aren't sharks". The restaurant and bar are under renovations and there is only room service for am and evening. The shower water pressure is almost non existent and there is no coffee in the rooms. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and staff was really nice but not a great time to visit.

This was my first time staying at The Westin Tampa Bay and it was an amazing stay! I was very impressed! The staff was super friendly and helpful, greeting you when you enter the Lobby and asking if you need assistance. The parking garage is attached to the hotel with an elevator also going to the hotel which made it very convenient for coming and going. I ate at the restaurant and my food was very good! I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.

For starters, everyone in the room around us was extremely loud and had no sense of respect whatsoever and we got no sleep. Secondly, the valet staff were incredibly unprofessional and rude! They went as far as to yell “are you (r word)?” at my girlfriend for accidentally driving the wrong way in-front of the hotel. Asking certain front desk folk questions also seemed to be met with hostility and passive aggressive attitudes when asking about the extra parking charge “uh yeah it’s all over the website and the garage and the entrance”. Absolutely disgusting behavior and I absolutely will not be returning to this place ever again. Not to mention, an added 100$ for my parking??? I thought I had already paid 900 for this hotel??? Ridiculous.

I love the private beach to relax on and soak up some sun. Everything was clean and updated. Only down side was that the restaurant was being renovated. More limited and crowded trying to eat in the lobby area.

Rooms are nice. Beach is not really a beach FYI. Staff is not very friendly.

The beds are horrible. The apartment was outdated, and there were cockroaches.

Overall, it was a great place to stay, clean, comfortable, parking garage, private Bay access, jet ski rentals, Starbucks in the lobby, and nice staff. Things to note - hotel is right by interstate so you can hear traffic/cars, there is no pool available, or an outdoor shower. They currently have construction going on so parts of hotel are closed. They have 2 elevators but only one that works consistently, so expect to wait awhile to use it. There is a fridge in the room but no microwave. They do have blackout curtains and streaming TV. Walk in shower and a tub.

Check in was not a great experience. The receptionist was rude and not very informative. Our grievances were handled at check-out with a different receptionist and the manager. They were very apologetic. The toilet in our room had a broken handle. Overall, the hotel was great. Comfortable bed. Nice water pressure. Bellhop service was great. There’s a Starbucks inside of the hotel and it’s close to other convenient locations.

The property has a great location, easy on site parking. The newly renovated rooms are beautiful and clean. The rooms are spacious as well. However I could hear other guests in their rooms especially when they were using the restroom. So that was my only issue was how thin the walls seemed to be.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. My stay was almost perfect until I got up use the bathroom and my feet was wet, room apparently the there was an issue that cause the flooding. Called front desk at 6am to report from my personal cellphone. Maintenance guys were very apologetic and fast with getting us out to take care of the issue. No apology from hotel management. I will be calling Monday to speak to someone.

The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice. The private beach is a complete joke. The water is nasty, there are a dozen or so chairs on a small sand beach that is not clean. It is right off the highway so it's noisy and it's more of a parking space for the jet skis that they rent, not a relaxing setting at all.

The property is nice because it is located in a quiet area, however, the hotel guests and particularly our next door neighbor, were loud. The hotel was busy. Upon our arrival there were four police cars and what looked like a domestic dispute in the lobby area. It was an uncomfortable start.

I booked here again. It was not disclosed that the bar, restaurant and Starbucks are closed for renovations. If I would've known that, I would never have booked here.

Very disappointing that the resort provides NO airport shuttle service. Had to pay daily for parking. Staff was nice but not efficient as it took over 2 hours to get clean towels. Housekeeping staff was very nice & polite. Restaurant can use some cleaning as well, walls around food service area and get more staff to accommodate the customers in the restaurant

Everything was great. My husband and I celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary and we stayed here and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend that you stay here. It is close by the airport and several restaurants close by with one restaurant that is inside of the hotel including a Starbucks!! Special thanks to the front desk staff. Earnest and Eric you really made us feel welcome. Awesome job to you and the rest of the staff. See you in a couple months when we return. 😊😊

Very BAD!! Hotel very dirty, staff very slow, staff was arguing infront of me, room was very dirty and they couldn’t do anything to help. Construction going on where the restaurant supposed to be so you’re eating between the elevator and reception.Valet guy thinks he’s a millionaire, wanted to give him a tip he refused and told me to keep it. When I asked why he said that usually clients give him 10$.

Restaurant was closed for renovation, wasn’t told this before booking. The “private beach” was horrendous. Rocks everywhere, basically sand on a hill. So made for a really miserable experience trying to sit/lay down on chairs. Valet lost my house and gate keys from my car key ring, took no responsibility. Will not be returning

This property has a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is nice but the air in our room barely worked, maintenance was very nice but our room never really cooled off. Also, be advised that if your room is on the 7th floor, so are the banquet rooms and it noisy. I would go back to this property but I refuse to stay on the 7th floor.

It was nice and the remodeling was perfect, I can say I was disappointed about being told the rooftop wasn’t available it was for private parties when we were told at check out it’s open till 11pm she told us for no reason just to tell us we couldn’t even go up there, other than that it was a nice hotel very close to everything 27 min drive to the Clearwater beach ! Would never stay here again, people in next room were loud at all hours of the night, room had adjoining double metal doors. We slept terribly two of the nights. Never again. 1 year wedding anniversary ruined.

The hotel was very nice. Very convenient to have the parking in the same building and that it was covered. The hotel just wasn’t very kid friendly. It was our mistake that we didn’t notice it didn’t have a pool but the beach area wasn’t as clean and as nice for not offering a pool. Most of the beach was being used for the jetskis so our kids barely had the corner to get in and play and it was dirty. At the restaurant, not many food selections for kids and even the cups and all weren’t kid friendly.

Very convenient location. Everything is about 15 minutes away (depending on traffic). The room was nice since it was recently remodeled. Like most hotels, the walls are very thin, so I heard everything my neighbors were talking about AND DOING. The room itself was clean, however when I pulled the fitted sheet back, I noticed an old stain on the mattress cover. However, overall good stay.

Very nice hotel and the beach area was great. But the ice maker had black plastic pieces in it and maintanence didn’t come or close it when called. Water in bathrooms is only warm to burning hot. No cold or cool. It will burn children. No sound proofing. Crying baby and slamming doors kept us up all night. AC turns off well before the desired temp so room would not cool.

You are in Florida…where is the pool? No one wants to marinate in that gross bay beach water. Aqua is dated and uninspiring.
