Amazing property! near so much stuff. Hotel and Rooms were great and clean and the hotel staff were amazing!
- 2/5
The property and rooms are not clean. WiFi connection is unstable, so it’s difficult to work from the hotel. Location is convenient.
- 1/5
Then, they refused to refund the rooms. Expedia was no help in getting this sorted out either. All they wanted to do was shower and sleep. We were left searching for another place to stay at the very last moment. They weren't able to stay, at no fault of ours, and the money paid for the rooms was kept. That is theft. I have never dealt with anything like this before.

My feedback on my stay at Sonesta Select Tempe Downtown from June 5th to June 7th. I was disappointed to find the pool and hallway carpets dirty, the elevator poorly maintained, and the day staff unprofessional. I hope this information helps improve the guest experience at this location.

The hotel didn’t really have a lot to offer as far as amenities. The staff was very brash and not too friendly, especially the one that checked us in. The young lady that checked us out was a lot nicer. Don’t think I would stay at your property again just didn’t feel comfortable.

The room was clean and fresh. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurant and coffee shops. Definitely will stay again.

The front person was nice but the extras were not mentioned like parking fees and the handicap rooms are too far away from the front
- 3/5
This made me feel very uncomfortable. I was very dissatisfied.
- 4/5
Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Lobby is large and comfortable to lounge in while eating from the breakfast cafe. Better food choices need to be served: breakfast burritos, fresh cut fruit, real oatmeal w/toppings, yogurt, toast w/ butter, peanut butter, jam, honey

Messaged them with questions and never heard back before check-in.

The pool was out of order for the night. There was sugar ants in the room. None the less, the room was the perfect size for my crew. Nothing really, our concerns were met and we were accommodated by the staff. I just wish they had breakfast

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a first floor room that made using the pool so easy. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were quick to help when we needed something. The location is EXCELLENT. We walked everywhere. There is a Whole Foods just down the street and a great coffee shop. Restaurants and retail are super close by (Mill Ave). This is where I will stay every time I visit ASU.

Carpeting all needs to be replaced

Room wasn't very clean. Room next to us was being cleaned and vaccumed at 9pm which was disruptive for our baby. TV didn’t always work, sounds was in and out and often screen was fuzzy.

Location. Exterior cleanliness. Bird poo all over the exterior. ( did see maintenance hosing a particularly bad area the day I left) Pool area could be cleaner, bins not emptied.

Cigarette ashes were poured and left in the bathroom sink. Hair in the bathtub and room was alot smaller than the pictures let on. Staff were friendly.
- 4.5/5
Location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, nice pool area Nothing except our bathroom could have used some repairs. The sink was super slow to drain, the tub drain was very poorly caulked, pealing & rusty looking paint on bath door trim. It was very clean though!

The staff was so helpful when I asked to check in early and explaining what all came with my stay. The room was really clean and the air conditioning was working really great. it is a great location to stay, it is surrounded by so much, so a perfect place to stay.

Great place close to lots of things.

Teh room was clean and everything worked as expected. The location is excellent!

Great location, clean, friendly helpful staff!

Bathroom had hair inside the shower and on the dloor. I stayed an extra day to hang out at the pool and almost as soon as i got to the pool, James, the maintenance guy, closed the pool to clean the deck. This was early in the afternoon.i wasted about $175 to hang oit at the pool that was closed. I will not go back to this hotel.
- 5/5
Very nice clean hotel. Very close to all the shops, restaurants and night clubs.
- 4/5
Room & staff were great. Our only issue was having to return to the front desk twice to have our keys reset after they failed to open our room on our second day.
- 3/5
Needs a little bit of renovating
- 5/5
Good location.
- 5/5
Overall good
- 3/5
This is a sold middle of the road/price range hotel. You get what you pay for which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The room was spacious and quiet but the furnishings and decor were outdated. The bathroom could use an upgrade as well. That being said, the staff was friendly, the pool area (next to a busy road) was clean. There was plenty of outdoor seating and the lobby was nicely appointed.

Location was great, staff was wonderful We had to move rooms (313 over to 316) due to plumbing issues. The room was smaller and balcony was odd view and loaded with bird poop ? not as good as initial room and the chair was a twin where as other room had larger double. We also had issues with our keys. Gym is OK -Small but efficient.

We had a 3 night stay at Sonesta and since we got there we noticed that our bathroom sink wasn’t draining. We notified the staff and they said they would go take a look, however, our entire stay our sink was flooded to the top. It made things really inconvenient for us when when getting ready.

The property is perfectly for what I wanted to do in Tempe.

- 4/5
Gym was pretty limited. The only bench was very loose and in need of repair. Floors were dirty. No towels. Firepit was nice, but it had tons of cigarette butts in it - gross. Great location and parking was nice, but I wouldn't recommend it, especially at the price we paid.

clean room, bed was comfy, bathroom was clean. staff super friendly!
- 1.5/5
The location was great and was the primary driver for booking this property. The staff was also very friendly. Upon entering our room, the smell of marijuana was very prevalent, even though it explicitly stated in the room that it wasn't allowed. The entire property seemed in need of attention and some TLC. The main elevator closest to the lobby looked like it hadn't been vacuumed for weeks, the carpet tiles looked like they should have been replaced years ago and the protective metal paneling towards the bottom was curled up in one section. Dark bathroom with a single light hiding the debris and hair around the edges of the bathroom. Overall, this hotel seemed dumpy and overpriced.
- 3/5
The room was clean however the bed was extremely firm which did not make for a comfortable nights sleep.

- 3/5
The room was in good condition. However the hallway from our room to the elevator was never vacuumed and clearly needed it. As did the elevator. Elvine at the front desk was absolutely A+. Friendly, helpful, informative and sweet. Always had a smile.
- 5/5
Room was large and clean. Water pressure in the shower was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hot tub and fireplace were nice. The building seemed a little old but well-maintained. The elevator was a little creaky and slow but never broke down, seemed safe enough.
- 2/5
The room was ok, was a little lack luster for the price but ideal lication for downtown tempe. Pool was small and tiny jacuzzi. Have to pay extra 15 dollars for parking
- 3/5
Let us check in a little early but or room didn't have a sofa bed. Run was by street so some node at night. Room was good size but cleaning out restroom and coffee maker could of been better. Good keeper got yes what we needed when we ran out. There was a man smoking in early am in hall way and just rooming. I guess he was ask to leave. I was there for a race and bed was not the most comfortable. But location was super close to venue and eateries
- 5/5
Super clean and friendly staff
- 1/5
The room stinks bad. I told them I'm handicapped and still insisted on a room in the 3rd floor. They hide a $15 parking fee it's ridiculous! Still the rate isn't bad for locating but but be transparent!

Great location for legends crossfit games in December. Lots of food choices nearby. Clean room
- 5/5
I've stayed here 5 times in 6 months. I've had a family of 5 and myself. Every time has been wonderful!!
- 3/5
Safe and quiet area. Near a lot of nightlife and restaurants. Room was decent, beds were comfortable but tall. Bathroom had visible water same with mold on the ceiling and wall. However it was other wise roomy and clean. Plenty of parking (really shouldn’t have to pay $15 bucks additional to park at place you are already paying to stay). We did arrive about 30 minutes early but room was ready and front desk staff got us right in with no problem. Would stay again but recommend cleaning the mold from room 161 before renting it out again.

- 5/5
Nice room with lots of charging ports and outlets. Toilet was nice and high (yes, that's a thing for us taller people). Very short walking distance to Mill Ave. About 1/2 mile walk to the venue formerly known as Sun Devil Stadium.
- 2/5
Shower did not drain and bathroom overall was in poor condition. Hot tub was out of service during our stay. Walls are paper thin so you get to hear all of the activities of our neighbors.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, great location and super friendly staff.
- 4/5
Rooms were good. Lots of space and comfortable furniture. The beds were extremely tall. The staff were all super friendly, but there was some late-night housekeeping going on that seemed odd and caused a horrible smell in the hallway for a few hours.

Reasonably priced hotel for Ironman Tempe weekend. About 10 minute walk to Tempe Beach Park and nearby restaurants and a WholeFoods. Good sized room which was clean and comfortable. Pretty quiet even though long freight trains ran to the west of the hotel, but at least they did not blow their horns. Very nice staff at front desk and very friendly throughout the hotel. Would strongly recommend if staying in downtown Tempe.

Hotel was conveniently located to everything we needed and staff was friendly. Only suggestion would be to lessen the aroma scent in the lobby. Sometimes it was overwhelming, even thru some of the downstairs hallways. Other than that, it was a great experience.

I don’t stay at hotels often. I’m a Phoenix native and don’t travel much so anytime I’ve stayed in hotels, it’s been for an emergency. So, imagine how distraught I was after my apartment flooded and the city sent a violation to my landlord… I basically ran out of my apartment with my service animal and landed myself at the Sonesta Select in Downtown Tempe. In comes Shannon (and my tears) - not only did she listen to me to let me really introduce the processing aspect of an inhabitable unit, but she made sure I was checked in as soon as possible (which was four hours early I believe?), listened to my meltdown, and has since then just been a nice person to be around. Angela ended up coming up shortly after that just to make sure I was OK and she offered me a water and even checked on me when she walked by the next day (she also fixed the patio door that was a bit off the hinge while doing so which was so nice to enjoy)… All the team members, including Jazmine helped me with my terrible habit of demagnetizing my room key (it stopped getting embarrassing after the 3rd time😂) though I was always met with a smiling face and a listening ear. My first night, jasmine gave me a bunch of merch for my dog, not knowing that I had left behind his dog bowl. It’s the little things… The location is perfect, Melinda has created an environment that defines humanity, and her staff has a critical role in making that happen. Thank you guys!!

I loved the place there where just some inconvenient events. Like my shower had a hair and then the sink had over flown when i was not in the room that’s was annoying to find after working all day. But other than that i like the place . They did change my room to make me feel better thank you.

Very disappointed at this front desk lady. She gave us first occupied room.371. We come back to from desk. I did pay for two queens room and she accommodated us on room 169 on king with sofa bed(very uncomfortable) this time Very very disappointed ☹️
- 4/5
Beds are consistently comfortable, and I have always felt well-rested. This hotel has been our preferred choice for stays before our flights due to its convenient location near the airport. If we were to extend our stay in Phoenix, this hotel would certainly be our top choice. Furthermore, the price is quite agreeable.
- 5/5
It was really nice, the rooms were updated and beds were very comfortable! It was close to restaurants for breakfast!
- 2/5
Had to switch rooms because the room we were given stinks like pet urine. Ugh! Gross

Nice rooms with comfy beds and the couch was just as comfortable. Checking in with a cat was easy too.
- 5/5
I stay here every time I go to Tempe now, definitely has been my favorite place to stay! It’s a street away from all the good restaurants and bars, plus the rooms are such a great price for the cleanliness and comfort you get! 10/10 would recommend ✨

If you’re looking for continental breakfast, they do not offer it, but there’s an IHOP down the street. Do not let the continental breakfast discourage you. The hotel is updated and comfy to stay for 1 night or a week.

Best place to stay for price and location. It’s not fancy but it is clean, superbly located to get to Mill Street- really nice lobby lounge area, spacious rooms and easy access to Starbucks coffee in the morning! I would stay here again and recommend it!
- 5/5
The hotel was quiet, which I really appreciated, especially for getting a good night’s sleep. While the overall condition of the property was good, it wasn’t perfect. There was a minor ant issue during my stay, which was a bit inconvenient, but it didn’t significantly affect my overall impression. Despite that, I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. The comfort, friendly staff, and peaceful atmosphere made it a worthwhile stay.

I thoroughly liked the location of the place. What i didnt like was that i booked for 5 people and we only had 2 queen beds in our room. We were given a handicap room which was fine except the open shower floor made the whole bathroom floor extremely wet whenever anyone showered. The pool was nice except it was as if it were salty and really burned our eyes. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Last concerning item was the abundance of tiny bugs that appeared on the night stand in the morning around a items.

Very nice area if you’re looking to party in mill ave this location is perfect. Walking distance & it’s super safe to come back & sleep cause your key is required to open up the front doors 10/10, the girl in the front desk was a little rude but she didn’t change the fact that our stay was 10/10, also the king bed is amazing. It was in a nice location for the ASU graduation.
- 3/5
The hotels not bad and I do think it’s a really nice quick layover because price is pretty reasonable. The room was pretty nice, and so was the pool area. 2 downsides. The elevator is a-bit beat up, and I was disappointed in the breakfast. It cost $18 for just oatmeal, a bagel, and coffee. Unfortunately the coffee is the only thing that’s good since it’s Starbucks. But what they sell it out of is rather disappointing.
- 5/5
The location was great.
- 4/5
This hotel room was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again, depending on the price. Unfortunately, the reason that I rated the hotel as less than expected was due to an unfriendly reception.

It was quite as well as I couldn’t hear the other guest while I was in my room. The room itself was nice and had a modern feel, something I enjoyed. Bed felt nice and it had the standard appliances in the room. Some things I wasn’t prepared for, having to request for room service. When I asked for it, one manager was quick to let me know I didn’t ask for it in time, and wanted to know what I wanted as they would only do certain areas, I had been in the room 4 days at this time. The service manager was much more approachable and let me know she would try to get to me as soon as she could-thank you. Paying parking at the hotel, is $15 a day extra, but I did receive this for free, I do appreciate the manager who checked me in and did this for me. She was helpful the entire time and made this trip a lot better. Paying for breakfast, nothing is free and the three frozen pancakes I received was $12.

They wanted me to pay the price for another night just to check-in early. So I literally sat in the lobby on my computer until 3pm when I was finally allowed to check-in (after I saw someone else check in just before 3pm) Nice hotel, but not reasonably hospitable.

Room is spacious, comfortable and accessable. TV not cable which means hard to find programing. Front desk could have been nicer.

Very nice and clean rooms.

I checked in very late after a long flight and was greeted by a friendly clerk. The inside of the hotel is basic, a little tired and stained, but the room was clean and the bed was super-comfortable. The problem for me was a pretty strong old-ashtray smell.

I love this hotel, the location is perfect. There is a convenience store right nearby called Milk & Honey. I like to take walks all around the hotel.

Overall, it was a good hotel walkable to a festival we were attending, but the room itself wasn’t that great we had constant issues with our room key needing to go down and get new ones almost every single time and we heard someone else yelling in the halls that they were having the same issue getting into their room. The lightbulb went out in the bathroom and it took about a day to get maintenance in there to fix.
