I was looking forward to swimming in this heat. There are no spa packages, tables in the casino are all 15 and up on the weekends. So expensive.

Nice hotel with casino

We planned a budget for gambling, as we do that on rare occasions. But neither of us used the whole budget. I noticed the difference in the slots, say from Vegas - the options to possibly win something were rare to nonexistent. We don't expect to come out with big winnings, but when there's five lines across and six options down - it's difficult to win anything back. All they had that I saw, was win across a line - no angled winning or verticle winning. Oh, sorry I did see one (and only one) machine that was the old fashioned type, with three lines across for a win. Anyway we both went through 1/3 of our budget so fast, we just stopped. Wouldn't go there to gamble again. But the hotel itself was pretty good, other than an iffy mattress.

This was our second stay! The price is good and the hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff even let us check in early and overall was extremely accommodating! 5 stars!

The property was nice. The rooms were spacious. Everyone was helpful. Only pitfalls was the hours of the restaurants. They open late and close early so we had to go offsite to eat the majority of the time. It was fun having the casino there.

The hotel was very clean and quiet. The restaurant also had wonderful food!!

None of the rooms offer a kitchenette. Based on that alone, I won't be back. The food was average at best. I ate hotel dinner twice with a group I was with. That's not a factor in my rating as I prefer to bring my own food, which I did and cooked in my room using my own cooking appliances. Having to use the bathroom sink to wash dishes was not easy. Lack of counter space made it hard to prepare my meals.

Weather was beautiful, not too hot. The casino was freezing, felt like 60 degrees. Very uncomfortable to sit and play the tables. Needed a blanket and a hot drink. Dealers agreed it's always too cold Housekeeping not very good. Won't stay there again.

The review for the hotel itself is a 5 star!! Rooms are very big and roomy. Hotel staff was amazing. The casino staff (in particular: the staff at the Players Club) were horrible. Customer service there was the worst I have experienced in a very long time. I tried to get my veterans players card and they would not except an old military ID I had (which I get), so when I asked what I can show them (I was visiting from another city 4 hours away) another lady approached me and started the conversation out with “What seems to be your problem?” I proceeded to explain to her that I have been in customer service for over 25 years and that is NOT how you start a conversation with a customer. Anyway, I don’t have enough energy to type the rest. Just be aware of the customer service on the casino side. GREAT HOTEL though.

Our water was very cold! We called the front desk, but they just told us to keep the water running for minutes on end, ensuring us it would heat up by then. Although hesitant to waste water, we did just that, but it still wouldn't get warm!!! In essence, our showers were freezing. The help was nonexistent, and we were dissatisfied with the experience, seeing as to how much we paid. It's certainly something they need to look into in the future.

They gave us a room next to the utility workers room. 7am you can hear those doors being slammed. Glass shattering and they seemed to be working on the room next to us. You can hear the walls banging and tools being used. Called the front desk around 10am and the guy didn't seem to really care. Just told us he can give us a late check out. It was just me and my husband celebrating his bday and just bummed about being woken up so early with all the boise from the employees.

If you like a very firm bed then this is the place for you! Most uncomfortable bed! Check in wasn’t as expected because I must of missed reading about the $100 deposit at check in (refundable too apparently according to online on booking) so that put me in a bad mood again after driving a long time to get there, then I asked what that was for, all I was told was “deposit” no detailed explanation.

Check in could have been better. Check in is listed at 3:00 on website. I arrived at 4:15 and room wasn't ready. Waited 30 more minutes for room to be ready. No wall mounted shampoo, conditioner or body wash in shower. I've stayed at cheaper hotels with those. The toilet paper must have been the cheapest anyone can buy, like cardboard.

I really liked the pool area and the coffee shop location everything seemed to be in order First I'm glad you asked this question. I really feel that you should have some type of valet service for the hotel guests. You don't have valet service for the guests or for the handicap drivers your handicap spaces are so far away from the interest of the hotel you have to call for a golf cart escort from the parking lot to the front doors of the hotel

We only stopped on our way home for the night because we wanted to play at the casino. Weren’t able to try much of the other amenities. The hotel itself was very good and the room was spacious and clean.

Rooms are 1st. Class, large bathroom with lots of towels. Casino was entertaining but I didn’t get lucky. Casino food was nothing to brag about but it was okay.

The hotel was clean, casino clean. Check-in was basic, almost like the front desk person was over saying the same things. The pool area is nice but the water was kind of green. The room was spacious, smelled like mildew, the a/c is really loud. At night the hallway had a sewer smell right off the elevator down through the hallway.

Room service was not available as no one would answer the phone. Just a recording asking guests to call back later. There are no blankets on the bed or stored in the room. If you want a blanket, you have to call the front desk for housekeeping. We stayed 4 nights and housekeeping only came once but did not change the sheets or empty the trash. They just brought fresh towels. There is no complimentary coffee. You have to purchase it from the lobby coffee bar. Since it is across the street from the airport, you can expect the noise from planes, as well as jets from the nearby airbase.

Definitely not what I thought it would be per reviews. Restaurants are lacking. Rooms are ok and kind of musty smelling. Won’t be back.

Clean hotel, nice little casino. Rooms generally quiet but you will hear the occasional flight from the airport, but not during the nights from my experience. Was unlucky to have military jet flyovers both mornings I was there around 8AM, but otherwise very good experience.

Rooms are only cleaned every other day, but the room is only provided with one day's supplies of toiletries, towels, and coffee. Not knowing this was a big surprise to us when we returned from our day's activities and the bed wasn't made, we were also out of soap, shampoo, coffee, and clean towels The staff was really friendly about providing everthing we needed on request.But for the $173/nt room, daily cleaning should be included. We were also surprised that the coffee shop was closed as well as the 'Hotel' bar. On the upside, the pool, hot tub and fire pits were unVegas-like (which we liked), and the casino was state-of-the-art and absoultely huge. Joining the Diamond Club gets you $20 free slot play and a $10 food voucher, which we used for breakfast in the food court.

Room advertised as deluxe 2 queens. It was far from deluxe, old mr coffee style coffee maker + cheap, poor tasting Farmers brand packets. Flimsy plastic water cups, no bottled water in room. Bathroom soap thin Ritz cracker size soap discs. Other than a counter top & chair powder area, no lounge chair/table to read a newspaper or mag, had to lay on bed.

This is a hotel attached to a casino with absolutely wonderful staff everywhere. The rooms were great, and the front desk was wonderfully helpful. The restaurants are splendid, and as a nice touch the room service menu from the bar is entirely reasonable in cost. Absolutely recommended!

Bartenders seemed over worked very small shots and exspensive. Food was terrible we had to leave property to get descent food. No live entertainment overall don’t think we will go back

Offered a complimentary upgrade which was nice, everyone so pleasant and helpful. Hotel was extremely clean everywhere! Only lacking was limited dining options as only buffet was open in casino or room service in the evening, and coffee and snack bar was only opening for a brief time in the mornings.

The location is outside the city and although the hotel is connected to the casino it's quiet. It Is very close to San Xavier Mission which is a must see. I liked the coffee bar just off the lobby offering coffee and pastries. The hotel itself is very clean. Although my room was clean there could be more attention to detail. The hair dryer needed cleaning and the lamp was missing the shade knob. My room was lacking a comfortable chair to sit and read. There wasn't a good place to sit and enjoy cocktails in the hotel, and was limited at the casino. The rooms were a bit pricy for a casino hotel.

Cons: The water pressure wasn't the greatest and there was a bench over half the tub. The bed only had a thin sheet like bedspread, so if you get cold, probably need to request a blanket. You will be charged a $100 deposit at check-in to ensure you don't smoke in the room, or otherwise damage it. The room door had a 1" gap between the door and sill, which allowed hall noise to enter the room. I put a towel there to help block out noise/light.

The hotel and rooms were great. But the hassle we went through in order to get some Tylenol! We were told so many different things to do but no one to help. We had to travel one hour to get some. I had developed a bad sinus infection with a high fever. So we had to leave early the next morning to be able to get seen with my home town physician.

If there was anything I'd change, it would be to set up the entry light to work with the lamp on the table instead of the bedside lamp. We have stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times and always enjoy our stay. The king size bed is comfortable, the shower is hot and the room is immaculate! I do wish there was a microwave in the room. The restaurant portions are large and we almost always have leftovers.

The food and craft cocktails were so good! The casino wasn’t smoky and they had tvs everywhere to watch the football game. The grounds were beautiful. Didn’t use the outdoor pool/hottub but they looked inviting. Would definitely stay here again without a doubt!!

We haven’t stayed at this particular overnight since the other casino came to town and I guess now I remember why. When we checked in while it was bright by the front entrance light was lacking around the vicinity of the hotel itself ( parking lot was adequately lit) and staff themselves seem not to happy to be there. ( just my personal observation). While my husband is a gambler I am not and I wanted to sleep and get ready for the next day. The bed was hard and the bathroom smelled like sewer with the shower having some weird pressure issue making those weird groaning noises like it was haunted.. so off to bed… when my husband finally rolled in around 5 am to sleep we get a loud a@@ COP KNOCK at our door around 6:25 demanding my husband give them $100 they overpaid him earlier. Which to me is VERY unprofessional and could be done without a 300 lb “bodyguard “ in the background for effect ? Anywho..lesson learned as I feel we got robbed and the overall atmosphere was not good. Would definitely not recommend and will DEFINITELY never stay here again. Will continue to frequent the other place as they have more to offer and THEIR customer service is beyond reproach

I had a good time but I just didn’t have Hot water when I stayed that’s the only thing that wasn’t nice about the stay .

We were exhausted and hungry, so we decided to go to the only food place open in the property- it was worse than food court. Pizza was not even reheated, we couldn’t finish even a half slice. The driver of airport shuttle was very nice. I had to go to concierge to set up for the shuttle after checkout but I was the only one in the shuttle. They quickly arranged the ride only fir me, that was very helpful!

Apparently house keeping did not check the previous tenant's alarm set up on the house alarm clock. So I was awakened before 6AM! Also, when I checked out at the front desk with an agent, no mention of "how was your stay with us" or "come stay again soon"; or anything along the likes of that. So first impressions and more importantly LAST impressions of any business should be priority over anythiing. Apparently, at this native american owned and run hotel, it isn't.

This property and room was pretty run down. Restaurant was closed so was stuck with the snack bar for dinner.

I always enjoy staying at Desert Diamond. It has everything I need for a great getaway.

There was mold in the shower grout. The walls are also so thin that we were woken up at 7am by people in the room next door. You can hear every word of their discussion. Disappointing concerning the room rate isn’t cheap.

I have stayed here before and really enjoyed my visit, so I was looking forward to returning again. Unfortunately, the room I was given on this visit had issues with the television and mini fridge. The mini fridge was very loud all night, and I did not get any sleep. The television and remote were not working correctly. I let the hotel receptionist know, but she did not seem interested or take my complaint seriously. I'm disappointed, I expected a different reaction to the issues I experienced during my stay.

This is our second visit. Hotel continues to deliver on cleanliness, friendly service and comfort. The pool and hot tub area are especially relaxing and luxurious. We will be back again and again.

Stayed at a competing hotel-casino in the area a week before (will remain unnamed) and made an honest mistake when booking. Instead of working with me, they charged me full price for a night I didn't even stay. Decided to book the Estrella for my next business trip and I'm glad I did. Staff was attentive to my needs, rooms were clean and spacious and the casino had great food options. Found my new hotel for future business trips to the area!

The staff not only met our requests, but exceeded them. Our included special needs & they went out of their way to accommodate us.

Being attached to a casino in an suspect part of town, didn’t feel safe to leave my vehicle in the parking lot due to unsavory characters roaming the parking lot at night checking out cars, asking for money. Entire property smelled like smoke. After my business dealings in Tucson I felt unsafe leaving my vehicle so made the 5 hour drive home instead of staying. Not good.

We enjoyed our stay with easy access to the airport the following day. Ease of check in and check out early in the morning. The room location was quiet and was a short walk to the attached casino. Plenty of parking .

No microwave unable to reheat any leftovers so had to leave food. We had children and it was such a waste to not be able to reheat their food or snack. No selection close by for food. The food at the casino was not good as well.

Dining options close too early. One shop is not enough and closed too early. For nongambler, not much option to do anything.

I liked how well kept the property was. Classy.

I arrive to find one of my employees downstairs, visibly shaken. Staff had banged on the door and threatened to call the police unless he left in 15 minutes. I walk in apologizing, thinking it’s just a misunderstanding—only to be met with more cold indifference. Then the kicker: the next morning, after working in the sun since 5 AM and needing to drive to Phoenix for an 8-hour flight, I politely ask for a late checkout—and they flatly say no. On a Thursday. With an empty parking lot. You’d think loyalty, money spent, and basic human decency would count for something. Apparently not at Desert Diamond.

We liked: meal prices and lots of venues, large room accommodations, SmartTV, hotel was separate from casino (no noise), friendly and helpful staff. Liked not-so-much: spotty internet, long walk from reservations desk to casino/food options, and long walk from parking area to front desk.

As far as the room s go everything was nice and clean. The beds were a little hard, but nothing too bad. There was supposed to be a sitting chair and a table in both of my rooms but there wasn't. The staff at check-in was great as well.

Upon checkin you r required to pay additional $100 that will be refunded 7-14 days..absolutely absurd..i would have turned around and departed but i booked on line to get a better rate that was nonrefundable. Security r untrained indivduals..i observed several security hassle individuals..breakfast was terrible..how hard is it to make 2 eggs overeasy?..put bread on plate not toast..hasbrowns burnt..i ordered 2 breakfast and both were the worst..

First time visit to hotel and casino. Very happy with the large single King bed room and large bathroom. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot and had good pressure. We ate at the grill for dinner and breakfast - good and affordable meals. Only stayed one night and we plan to come back again!

I would recommend cellular shades be placed under the shutters. The sun came through the shutters at 5:00am, there was no way to make the room dark.

Pool area was nice but often overrun by kids. Whatever they use to wash the towels did not sit well with my sense of smell and the whole room smelled like it. Other than the pool, there wasn't much in the way of amenities (i.e. don't call it a "Coffee Bar" if you don't really serve coffee, it was a glorified/staffed vending machine). Casino was OK. Overall, not the worst, not the best, probably won't stay again

The stay was a great experience

The casino in this property was fairly big. It was Mothers Day and very busy. We were pleasantly surprised we were able to get a room at a decent price. We plan to return if in the area.

My stay was ok, was not that happy with room, since they put us in a handicapped room, I did not like the restroom. I feel like they downgraded my room to a handicapped one.
