The air conditioner was the best part of my stay. Oh and they DO NOT have bed bugs, the pillows are true sized pillows.

Worst room I’ve ever seen… not stayed in because we did not stay. Do not stay here!! Sleep in your car before you stay in this cigarette smoke , bedbug, piss covered sheet filled shack!!! Pics are nothing like the actual place. I think if I stayed the night I would’ve caught a disease from the used belly button ring laying in the room or the disgusting yellow pillows. Oh and don’t forget you won’t get a refund despite the grossness and the fact you didn’t stay in the room longer than 2 minutes.

The room was dirty and the beds had bugs crawling on, when I when to the staff, she thought it was okay, to sleep in a bed with bugs!!!! I asked for my money back they refused to give it back. I will be reporting them to the broad of Health. Please dont belive the pictures.

The property is run down , full of roaches FULL OF THEM , my tub sink and toilet had a bunch of hairs stuck all over it . There was blood stains on the pillow cases and pillows , THE ROACHES ALL OVER THE ROOM all sizes , the tv was broken the fridge was connected with 3 power extension’s … the ROACHES . I did not even bring any luggage in the room I knew roaches was going to get in my bags , the room smells my door had a dresser drawer handle instead of a door knob …. Just terrible I was embarrassed to stay there .

Nothing I didn't stay and I still haven't gotten my refund.the lady at front desk told the owner whatever she told him and he told booking I had issue with internet and was offered another room LIE..the room was filthy and nasty.i didn't stay in that room 5mins didn't even sit my stuff down and came rite back out and told them rooms was nasty and that I wanted refund bc I was leaving..so he still hasn't given me back my refund nor has booking done anything to help me get my money back. Everything about this place sucks..I had my grandchildren with me and was no way I was gonna allow them stay here

This was one of the most unsanitary places I’ve ever seen. There were cockroaches everywhere— in the kitchen, bathroom, and even around the bed. The bathtub looked like it had what appeared to be bloodstains. I didn’t feel safe staying there and left immediately without using the room. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Peggy at the front desk was so welcoming for us for our extended stay, we loved how attentive she was to our needs while we were there. Nothing about the property was bad other than sometimes the shower was iffy but no problems otherwise.

The lady at the front desk had a attitude and wouldn't allow us to even speak to the owner that she was on the phone with .

This property is a dump, very unsafe and should be torn down and made an emty lot. They charged me for a pet but I have a service dog. There was people hanging out in the parking lot until 2 in the morning, noise and very unsafe. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The place is very old and smelled like mildew. The towels were very rough and old feeling.

Nothing Roaches, staff rude, made me pay for my dog when it was stated on website it was included, room was nasty, cabinets nailed shut, tub gross, cracked, rusted microwave, staff rude and unsanitary, allowed pest control in my room with my minor child in there and dog, mentioned they heard their were roaches when we had a private conversation in our room about finding roaches in the room. Very shady people and people living on property. The doors do not even have knobs, they’ve instead been replaced with ropes and old handles. My key didn’t work to my room and they couldn’t figure out which it was. Felt very unsafe and didn’t not stay the entire time, left and went to another hotel.

The room was not clean both beds had stains of paint the bathroom also had stains mostly mold in greater areas of all corners. The lighting was not ideal at all while lamps didn’t have outlets to plug into but were just siting there and they were dirty with vandalism on them too.

First, the door was cracked open. Upon entering the room it was apparent that someone had been in there. The lights were on, the TV was on, the trash can had garbage in it, there was garbage on the floor, weed residue on the dresser, dirty and wet towels on the table and the bed was disheveled as if someone had been laying on the bed. The room also reeked of smoke. Upon seeing this, I went back to the office to address the concerns and the front desk representative stated that because it was late if I could go back to the room and that she would clean the room first thing in the morning. I did not stay the night, left and went elsewhere. The following morning I went to return the key and ask for a refund as I was checking out early. The woman said I had to request a refund from the booking agency. So, I contacted Expedia who contacted the White Marlin Inn who denied the refund. Absolutely disgusting place!!!

This is a terrible place. towel, bed sheet are super dirty. Bath room is leaking and floor is Wet. This room is not fit for living. I afraid i see black feces on bed and i hope it is not bed bug. Terrible motel and should be reported to city for unhygienic condition. Drug smell is a lot outside and a women fighting with her boyfriend or husband next room with very load way. Pictures are too way off the actual motel condition.

The room didn't have no trash cans. All the cabinets were nailed. Shut, the drawers were nailed. Shut the lock to shut the door was loose where anyone could just bust in the room. At any point in time, the AC barely worked. The bathroom had rust everywhere. Hair was all in the shower like they didn't even clean it. And there were stains all over the towels. I will never stay there again.

PLEASE READ!! This place is a dump! The listing said “newly renovated”…HA!! Where to begin? The kitchenette light didn’t work, it’s cabinets were totally rusted, the shower curtain was covered in mold, there was unidentified liquid spots on the mirror, a pube AND WATER in the bathtub (I checked in around 11pm-why was it still wet?), it was supposed to be non-smoking, but I guarantee it was smoked in. My hair, clothes, bags, and extra blanket all smelled like smoke when I left! The sink handle fell off when I turned on the water. I had a huge roach! And I’m 99% certain the door wasn’t closed when I unlocked it. (It’s a key, not a card) The bed was barely/sloppily made. I was alone and did not feel safe here. I tried canceling my second night, but the employee said hotels.com would have to refund. So they’re looking into it. Doubtful, though. I still left and didn’t stay the second night! PLEASE DON’T STAY HERE!

reserved a non-smoking room with a king size bed and we were checked into a smoking room with two double beds. The room was dirty and smelled of smoke. A used condom wrapper was on the floor beside the bed. When I tied to opened the freezer, the microwave fell off of the top of the freezer and I was lucky to catch it. The shower was dirty, the mirror was smeared, the bed sheets looked dirty, and the curtain had a rip in it that people could look through.

I have stayed here plenty of times before. But this time was horrible. There was roaches and spider webs in the rooms. The tv wasnt working and the ac was super low to the point you had to pull pff the mattress on to the floor and sleep.

No cleanliness at all...First room i was given the shower continously ran, not dripped but running and there was visable mold on the shower curtian and wall from it. The desk was more.than accommodating in changing rooms however the second room had trash in room cabinets, used shampoo bottle and hair left in shower, pretty sure one of the towels had already been used.

My partner and i stayed here during our trip to virginia beach. I feel like you could find something within this price range that’s better. The hotel definitely was not deep cleaned and there was no housekeeping. Towels were dirty upon arrival, bathroom had mold/sand everywhere, there was sticky dirt on the handles of the dressers, it had a foul smell for it being a non-smoking room and most importantly roaches. The only good thing was the staff because of how respectful and accommodating they are. I just want to be transparent in case anybody was looking to stay here because it’s honestly not the best idea. I unfortunately will not be recommending or staying here again.

At check-in, I was told my booking had been cancelled that morning with no email, call, or explanation — extremely unprofessional after traveling 13 hours. Our room was filthy and clearly not cleaned. Though booked as non-smoking, it reeked of smoke. The bedding had burn holes, stains, and looked unwashed; dust, ashes, and cigarette remnants were everywhere. The AC barely worked, was caked in dust, and smelled of mildew. The chair was filthy, the TV didn’t work, lighting was poor, and nearly everything was broken, rusted, or beaten down. The bathroom was a health hazard with broken faucets, stained towels, and a strong mildew odor. The “kitchen” had a hole in the ceiling patched with paper and tape, filthy cabinets, and the “closet” was just a tiny space with one bent hanger. Safety was a serious concern — half the locks on the door were broken, and questionable activity around the property made it feel unsafe. Spiderwebs and dust lined the walls and corners, adding to the neglected, unsanitary conditions. For the price paid, this was unacceptable. We couldn’t wait to leave. This motel is unsafe, unsanitary, and should not be operating. All pictures attached are from our room. We intend to report this inn and strongly advise avoiding it. Spend the extra $100 for a proper place.

The room had mold in it, the door did not fully seal, the bedsheets were torn, the room had a lot of damage to it and my wife and I did not stay in the room due to the poor material condition.

To start with, upon arrival the office had a sign that says to call for check in. At this point a lady came out of a room where people were drinking to check us in. I do not think my room was even an actual room because the sign was painted over and it looked like someone lived in it. The room was absolutely disgusting. The room was also clearly abandoned in the middle of a “cleaning” because the toilet scrubber was in the toilet, there were cleaners on the sink, and a pile of dirty towels on a chair. Additionally the beds were filthy, the floor was sticky and dirty, the fridge was gross, the freezer had left over food in it, the draws had hair and other trash in them, the bathtub was dirty. I have seen abandoned houses with cleaner rooms than what we were given at $219 a night… inexcusable. This place should be shut down immediately, there is absolutely no way this would pass any health inspection.

Upon entering the room the smell was pronounced. The linens on the bed were disgustingly dirty. The bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned and the fixtures are beyond old and unkept. The curtain was coming off the rod, the carpet was filthy. We immediately went and turned the keys into the door slot and left. I understand this is an extreme budget motel but I couldn't stay there. Unacceptably dirty, the environment is dangerous and the employee is rude. We ended up sleeping in the car.

My family and I were of course drawn in by the price. But literally 6 minutes after receiving the room key and trying to get my kids out of the car, 10 police offers swarmed the property with fully loaded guns and dogs to arrest a man just 3 feet away from my vehicle. My toddlers were petrified and were afraid to get out the car. Talk about scary…tried to shake it off and just go up to the room only to find a room door that couldn’t lock! Just a light push would grant access to the room…a room that was filthy beyond belief. The shower was filthy, with mold and soap scum, roaches scurried as soon as a turned on the light. I couldn’t bear it all. We packed our kids back up on the car and had to find somewhere safer and cleaner to sleep. The receptionist apologized for all that had happened- she was sweet but it just wasn’t her fault. She warned us though, that the manager was an “a/hole” and would still charge us and that we should let hotels.com know what happened. We’re fighting the charge; this wasn’t a safe stay from the moment we entered the parking lot and this manager should be ashamed for the condition and lack of safety of his/her property.

Check-in was easy but the place was disgusting. I specifically paid for a non-smoking room and it stank. There was no toilet paper and the floors were muddy with hair on it (even on the light switch somehow). Didn't even feel comfortable to have/use the shower. Location was great for but there's 100% better out there. Maximum one night stay.

This property is disgusting. The TV was broken, room and bathroom was NOT cleaned, the pillows had blood on them and were just turned over, their towels are dirty looking and dingy, curtains are full of holes, there is no door handle on the inside of the door and the door handle outside was a HOSE CLAMP THEY SCREWED TO THE OUTSIDE. Go anywhere else. The property owner should be ASHAMED!

From the second i pulled in the parking lot with my family we had severe doubts about our stay. I chose the pay at property option but the credit card machine wasnt working (sketchy as heck) so the owner off property was somehow able to process the payment. Now after that mess, we walk in our room which only has a deadbolt, no doorknob, the bedspread has stains on both beds, sand on the tile floor, dirt/ dust bunnys along the walls, on top of the curtains. There was dirt and sand and trash behid the tv stand and night stand, the lamp on the nightstand was rusted and filthy. The bathroom was equally disgusting. The shower handle had mold inside of it and the tub was stained and appeared to be dirty. We thoroughly checked the beds because we couldn't cancel our stay at this point without being charged the full amount for the 2 night stay. We were on a budget and couldn't afford to go elsewhere. So we did what we could, ie: (bought rubbing alcohol to spray the beds in case of bugs), to try to salvage our mini vacation but unfortunately on the second morning my wife woke me at 3:15 am with a bed bug on her arm. So now we are left with the fear that we could infest our home due to the filth of the White Marlin Inn. FYI, their website photos are 7+ years old, very deceiving, and the Google reviews that i mistakenly didn't dig deep enough into are horrible. If you are a single female or your daughter and her friends mention this place tell them to avoid it at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Outside looked run down & parking lot was awful & bikes laying in walkways. After putting our suitcase in the room, we immediately left for the beach. When we got back the key wouldn't work in the door, the receptionist/ housecleaning ranked of alcohol tried using her key, then a owner finely got it opened after trying several different keys & told us to leave it opened if we go back out & he'd have someone fix it. We said not with our stuff in there, so he immediately tried giving us the room next door, which the door wasn't locked & key didn't work after we locked it. Which made us to think the other door was unlocked too when we first went in & they didn't know what key goes to what. After I grabbed our suitcase, we looked the room over, then told him we wanted a refund, because that room was nasty & we felt unsafe. ( BLOOD SPOTS ON BATHROOM WALL & MOLD AROUND TUB.

The room was filthy I had to go to Walmart to buy cleaning supplies and a sheet set and disinfectant just to sleep comfortably not to mention it’s roach infested I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there for those prices it should be $30 a night!

The whole hotel was dirty! There was no phone in the room.The sheets had holes in them. There were two towels in the room One of them had mildew all at the bottom of it The second one look like it didn't even belong in the hotel. The shower curtain has so much mildew in it on it I was scared to take a shower. My overall experience was horrible and I should receive some kind of discount on my next stay at another location.

Our room wasn’t ready, there were no towels, it was dirty, when we checked the beds they were awful, stains on the sheets and blankets, one had a large blood stain on it they just put 2 sheets on top of it, the owners and the workers were having large loud fights outside, there were roaches, the air conditioner didn’t work it was so HOT! Dirty stained sheets, no deadbolt on the door, commode constantly running, no toiletries towels or toilet paper, hairs in the tub and on the floor and it had obviously not been cleaned or serviced. The pictures of the hotel on the internet are beautiful and deceiving. Hotel is extremely overpriced for the quality. Chose not to stay at the hotel…unsafe!!

After roaches in the office, i walked into the room to see adult bedbugs visibley crawling on the bed and floor

Pathetic, unhygienic, dirty and disgusting rooms. Had to change room 3 times where even light tv was also not working. Foul smell in rooms. No dustbin in room.

The floor was not swept, the lock did not work, the bathroom was dirty with no toiletries, and there was roaches. There was no where else to stay in the area at the time.

Basic needs met. A lot of construction interference. Microwave and fridge there.

Its a non smoking room but it did smell like smoke. There were some cleanliness issues. Found a dirty towel folded up as clean in the bathroom. The others didn't really inspire that much confidence either. The bed had either sand or like crumbs under the main sheet ( had to shake the bed clean. Not sure what it was. The door chain is broken. The door doesn't lock on its own you have to press the button for it to lock if not you're doors will remain unlocked. Besides that the room was fine. To be honest for the price I paid it was much better than another I stayed for almost $370 and to an extent the room was in a better condition.

I’m not one much to complain, but I just drove 12 hours all I need was a few hours of sleep. I asked to see if I can check in early. I couldn’t. I came back at three and there was still noise from construction happening in the building 8 o’clock and there’s still noise and I still have seven more hours to drive. I think coming from the hospitality industry after 3 o’clock check in there should be no construction going on.

the location is great, but the property is completely unsanitary. bed bugs, cockroaches, cigarette burns on the sheets, blood on the walls and dust and dirt everywhere.

The hotel was horrible, ran down, holes in the wall, missing toilet seat, moldy and mildew, bathroom exhaust fans are missing, looks like drywall repair started but never finish, looks nothing like what’s in the picture, it was so bad I couldn’t stay then they manager/maintenance/painter told me to contact who I booked through for a refund and when I contact hotels.com I was told it was up to the property manager and he refused worst transaction I ever had in my life please stay away for this place.

Horrible, I had to wait for 60-90 minutes for them to put a knob on the door which was a deadbolt. They never gave me a key. So I never slept my first day. Then instead of changing the room the staff tried to create an argument and put me out of the hotel. But lucky I recored the entire situation once he seen it was being recorded he gave me service. I would never recommend this stay to a fly

This place is DOWNRIGHT DISGUSTING!! The room and bathroom itself had NOT been cleaned at all, the ironing board LEFT out, NOTHING was washed, it looks as though someone had thrown a clean pillow case OVER the dirty one, the REFRIGERATOR and MICROWAVE weren’t even CLEAN, the bathroom door was falling apart, the quilt on the bed had holes BURNT in it! There was even some lady’s sundress left IN THE DRAWER and the lamp only had ONE LIGHT BULB. To make matters worse, I woke up the next morning to BED BUG bites on my arm!! I had booked for two nights, stayed ONLY 1!! This place needs to be removed from ALL booking sites ASAP. I want a FULL REFUND!

They give you an actual key instead of a card key like normal hotels. My Check-in process was horrible. They give you an actual key instead of a card key like normal hotels. I requested a non-smoking room and the room smelled like smoke and is very outdated. The room looks nothing like the pictures online. At night there are a lot of people outside doing drugs. And the doors do not lock properly or have proper door handles. Very horrible experience would not recommend this location to anyone. I did not even stay the night I ended up leaving and going to another location down the street on oceanfront. Don’t waste your time and money at this location! Too bad I could not get a refund due to booking on hotels.com.

Avoid this place I would rather slept in my car, upon arrival owner looked horrible in dress and manner,he cursed every other word dropping f bomb in front of 9 yr old granddaughter. The first room he gave us was uncleaned and totally filthy ex.urine all over bathroom floor toilet etc.The only sink was broken with actual faucet lying in bathroom. There were very unsavory people loitering everywhere on 27rm small complex. When I told him condition of room and the fact it was unacceptable he and his(housecleaning) became angry at me. I have never stayed in a hotel or even seen one that's such filth and disrepair and they acted like I had a problem for not accepting that room. I could not believe it I thought someone from a hidden camera service and pop out any second cuz it was such a joke and discomforting and downright offensive I thought I had to be some kind of joke. And that's true why is this bad she said and still it was filthy I walked in in my feet stuck to the floors as I walked all I wanted was to take a shower and rest but I wouldn't climb into that thing they call it a shower if my life depended on it. Please avoid this place at all costs I have never seen anything like it , disrepair,filthy,nothing up to code. A TOTAL NIGHTMARE THIS IS ALL 100% TRUE WORST HOTEL IN 55 YEARS OF LIFE

The guy working the desk was very nice. The place is so run down that the place should be condemned.

It was near the boardwalk which was convenient. Needs a little work but great overall.

You can tell they are on their way to improvement...but theyre just not there yet. It felt unsafe. There was ash and leaves on the sheet, a ball of hair on the floor, stained and irregular towels in the bathroom, rusted sliding lock, and capped but exposed visible wires on the doorframe. We ended up leaving that night because we didnt feel clean or safe. But there are visible improvements. The kitchen area was definitely improved and there was a nice television. They will get there, they just arent thete yet. The staff was friendly and understanding.

This property is currently being renovated to attract more clientele. Michael was extremely affable and responsive. He cares about the property and is working hard to make upgrades. The best part of the room is the huge T.V. screens. Some are cable, mine was Roku. All rooms also have a full size fridge with freezer. Also a plus was a table and chairs to sit down and eat. The beds are very comfy. At first the water temp was just warm, but after asking Michael the water was very hot.

To call this place a dump is an insult to dumps. I have never seen a nastier room in my life. The smell of marijuana was unbearable and the staff is incredibly rude. The toilet didn't work and sink was clogged. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Stayed here on different occasions and each time the rooms were in used condition. Beds were made but sheets never changed. Housekeeping takes shortcuts and management does not care. Found blood stains, lots of hair and crumbs in bed. Towels were used and when you ask for fresh sheets/towels the staff does not apologize and just give you dirty sheets/towels back. Rooms had personal belongings from previous guests in them and there were cockroaches.

Horrible

The room was grungy, the bathroom shower was full of mold, the towels were yellowed, the trash can had no liner and was covered in mold, and the smoke detector was on the floor. The worst part was the sheets had footprints on them. We left after inspecting the room. The management refused to acknowledge my complaint.

I WAS NOT ABLE TO STAY IN THE HOTEL I BOOKED AT ANOTHER HOTEL BECAUSE THEY CLOSED AT 10PM BUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT THE WHITE MARLIN STEPPED IN AND SAVED THE DAY

Did not like the motel area nor the motel because it was like people lived there.

When we arrived the person at the front desk was very nice to us though he was drinking a beer on the job. The outside of the building was very rundown and the office was not as depicted in the photos. When we went to our room it was very dirty on the floors tables and bed. There was flakes of dirt on all the surfaces and there were visible pee stains on the sheets and mattresses. The toilet was clogged with a large quantity of poop that would flush. Overall felt too unclean and unsanitary to stay so we checked out right after viewing the room. The hotel would not give us the money back because they said that the room was fine.

Please DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Don't be convinced by the pics, the room isn't like that. Don't look at the price and get fooled. You WILL NOT sleep it is so filthy. If you go to the office, you need to call someone to come over from their room and they may not answer. Expedia should not list this place because it fooled me into thinking it was serviceable , but it's totally gross. Someone's soap was left in the shower with hair on it. Please avoid this place.

Unclean and Disappointing

The smelled horrible. Let the wayer in the shower and the sunk run for 20 minutes and it never got hot it stayed cold the entire time. The sink.was steady running and wouldnt turn off NOT dripping but running. The toilet had what looked like tobaccoo floating all in it. The entire floor was sticking to my shoes everywhere i walked. The window curtain didnt close all the way anybody walking by could see in. The.microwave was completely covered with black and green mold inside. When checking in the attendant made me wait sonhe could go find where he put his beer down at and came back 15 minutes later with one in his hand. I couldnt stay through the while night there and they refused to give me a refund.
