Check-in was a breeze and our room was lovely. Everyone was very kind.

No refrigerator to keep water cool. No vend in the bathroom to circulate air. The phone message system did not work. It was blinking, indicating that there is a message, however when I pickup the phone and select msg it prompts me to enter a mail box. when I enter the room number it says the msg mailbox is not setup.

Incredible hotel experience and perfect location. Even the food at the hotel restaurant was 5 stars. Walking distance to experience our beautiful,clean safe capital city . We will be back!

Only thing that threw me off was I ended up on one of the only floors that doesn’t have an ice dispenser! Kind of annoying, but still had a very nice stay.

I had a pleasant stay at the Capital Hilton. The location is perfect, making it very convenient to explore Washington and attend meetings. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The breakfast was good and offered a nice variety of options. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and I would be happy to stay there again. Everything went well

Outdated, not very clean, very expensive for the value (there are much cheaper hotels around with much better facilities and service). There's only one person at the reception at all times, so everything takes ages as it is a big hotel. I have waited for 15 min everythime I needed something. The bathroom was so old it felt I'm in a hotel from the 50's, it was breaking down. For the money I paid I definitely expected better.

I will definitely be back. Omg the bed was so comfortable and the curtains had the room all the way dark.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. A few blocks from the White House. The staff were all so friendly and pleasant. It was clean, the buffet breakfast was great, the gift shop has a lot of items, and the restaurant went above and beyond to help get us some crackers when we had a kid with an upset stomach. Great location, comfortable bed and clean. We had booked a room for 3 with 2 kings beds that was given away and ended up with a sofa bed, but the staff acknowledged the issue and gave us some discount which we really appreciate. Restaurant was also very good.

Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I’d love to purchase the same mattress. The hotel was within a short walking distance to the White House. Unfortunately we only found a couple of close restaurants.

Dinner was fabulous and parking is cheaper right around the corner-felt very safe

The location of Capitol Hilton was within 15 minutes to every one of the locations we were to visit. The staff, specifically Stephan and Frank at the front desk were exceptionally courteous, friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and the bedding was sooo comfortable! The hotel overall was clean and offered a great experience for our one-night stay!

This property was centrally located to all the tourist sites and metro for getting around DC. Our first time to DC and we picked the right place to stay. The room was very quiet and bed was nice for sleeping. Would recommend. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful historical building. Just down the street from the White House(easily walked). Staff very friendly-we never passed anyone from the front desk to housekeeping that failed to greet us as we passed by. They were extremely busy but very efficient. We also ate in their bar/restaurant one night and although a bit pricey it was delicious and our server was Ms Personality. Our entire trip was better than we even expected-we would totally stay here again!

Some of the sheets in my bed were dirty and not replaced. Also, the room I was given was directly next to the staff service area on floor 9. It was extremely loud for most of the day and early in the morning especially.

Staff need to improve customer service, specially at the front desk. Only one person at the restaurant for the brunch was very nice. A guest lost his cellphone at the bar and the management/security team did not care about the issue. Very disappointing coming from a Hilton hotel.

The room was exceptional. It was very clean and everything was in working order. The location was ideal for several tourist areas from the White House to Washington Memorial. The weather was spectacular but it was very congested making it difficult to drive around as you were stuck in traffic for 30 minutes at a time.

All things about the hotel were great but the staff were outstanding. Shout out to the guys doing the valet parking. They were kind, courteous and helpful in so many ways....great bunch of guys!

Nice hotel. Close to the White House. A couple of blocks from two Metro stations. The room itself was good. Relatively comfortable bed, not the best, but far from the worst. The shower was very good! Nice sized TV in the room. Sound barrier between rooms was good.

I really liked this hotel. It was clean. All of the staff were super nice. I would give 5 stars, but I don't know if Hotels.com is aware of this destination fee. I feel like it forces me to make purchases that I normally wouldn't. Also, I would recommend offering less expensive meal options, especially at breakfast. The bed and pillows were super comfortable.

Well-situated, quiet property in D.C. This may have been the quietest hotel room I have ever experienced in a city (Room 440 - not facing a street!). I stayed in Chinatown before and this is just a quieter area with quieter clientele. Loved the more classic touches of bellhops offering water, opening car doors, and being generally friendly and available. Room was lovely and clean as well.

First time in DC, great hotel! Staff was excellent. First night we arrived, tv didn't work. Engineer quickly came and diagnosed the problem. Got us an upgraded room for the inconvenience. 10/10 would recommend.

Great hotel within walking distance of major monuments & has scooter parking outside. Hotel has NO parking and valet was over $70 a day, or you can use the paid city parking garage across the street if you can get a spot for $23 a day.

Friendliest staff in the industry. From the doorman to the housekeeping staff they are engaged and well trained. Room is nice. Clean. Slightly dated. Good location. Quiet and nice.

It is very close to everything you need to access in DC. The view is not great, most rooms face other rooms.

1) Their lawyers have crafted the listing so that there was enough notice of it somewhere so that it is legal, 2) the fee is not obvious when you are booking (certainly it's not part of the room rate), and 3) the situation of (1) and (2) suits the managers just fine. Ok, so what does the destination fee get you? Well, a Lyft voucher of $15, which is actually useful. But mostly, it is a credit towards the property's restaurants. Ok, maybe you just end up with a breakfast, right? Well, no. First off, the credit for the first night ends that evening, so woe unto you if you come in late. The one for the next night does begin in the morning, but the breakfast buffet is $37/person -- and is pretty ordinary. You can order a la carte, but the prices are still nearly double what the cafes in the neighborhood charge for much better food. In all, you just get the feeling of property managers lowballing on the headline rate and then tacking on extra charges. For a nice hotel, it just leaves a sour taste in one's mouth.

All that’s offered on the property is valet parking which was very expensive.

Thankfully at check in there was an angel at the front desk who was willing to help.

Bed comfort

Although the facility was clean, most, but certainly not all of the staff was pleasant and the restaurant was especially nice, our room was a huge disappointment. We complained immediately but were treated rudely by the associate and offered a change at what we felt to be an unreasonable rate. The bathroom was unimaginably small without room to stand directly in front of the sink and had no ventilation, causing condensation to drip from the ceiling if the door wasn't left open while showering. I expected better from Hilton for an 8 day stay. Very disappointing.

When we arrived, staff was very helpful and check-in went smoothly. Even though we arrived before check-in, they were able to assign a room to us. I didn’t like that the lounge/bar didn’t open until 4:00pm.

Property was fine, but we saw a roach in our first room. They moved us to another room, and there was a roach there too. The last room on the 4th floor was an allergy room and we loved that room as it was nice, clean and no roaches. The manager who took care of us at checkout was very accommodating an comped the $71 per night parking and apparently a property fee I was not aware of, so I was happy about that. Overall, it's a nice property in a nice area, with great staff, but biggest problem was the roaches.

I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with several aspects of my recent stay. Upon check-in, I was informed of a mandatory $30 per night fee, presented as a prepayment for food and drinks, which I found unwelcome. Throughout my stay, dirty plates were left in the hallway on my floor from Saturday until my departure on Monday. The elevator next to the large mirror also had prominent graffiti above the floor buttons. While my room was generally clean, the white sheets appeared gray. Most concerning was an incident on Sunday when my children and I were in the elevator with two escorts openly discussing their activities. These issues significantly detracted from my experience.

The property was beautiful and clean. The service was great, the staff was nice and considerate. The location is great to walk to many site seeing spots. I will definitely visit again and would recommend to my family, friends and associates.

We liked the location, and the hotel appears to be recently updated. However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness. Upon arrival, we found hair on the bed sheets, and the bathroom had noticeable hair and pubic hair throughout.

I booked a room with a view to White House . Picture portrayed a view to White House . They said they would call me when room was ready, they didn’t ! Like I said i requested that room..finally at 335pm I asked MY room was ready? He said I have a city view opposite of White House . He lied! It was a side street! Not ok! And tile was broken in bathroom , grout was coming out of tiles! Not a good experience at all!

Likes: There is a coffee stand in lobby, "The Grind" where one can also buy pastries, drinks, and snacks. It closes mid-afternoon, so if one desires coffee in the afternoon, no luck here. There is a gift shop across the way with snacks, drinks, ice cream, and sundries. The property is older, as one can see from the display near the elevators about the Hilton's role in historical events. Room was spacious, clean, no odors, carpet stains. The housekeeping staff on my floor (9th floor) were fabulous and pleasant. Although I did not require housekeeping services every day, I was able to get extra supplies as I needed them; good climate control to regulate to one's comfort; water in shower heats up fast; in-room refrig was convenient. (no in room microwave). Hotel is near the White House and within walking distance to many of the national monuments and Smithsonian museums. Taxis are readily available in front of the hotel. If you forgot to pack anything, a drugstore is next door.

Wonderful customer service, was there on a work conference and woke up sick. The front desk sent tea and a kettle to my room with bottled water.

The restaurant did not even say what was available and made me order the costliest food. The same was true with the bar. The shower curtain was not up to the standard. Overall, the space was overly rated and was the costliest.

Unfortunately the room service app wasn’t working. Was unable to order food. Valet parking was not very organized. Overall the hotel was fine.

Valet was full, finding parking was terrible especially after hours. All the garages within walking distance were closed to being full and finding parking on the street was even worse.

A reservation fee of $35/day was added after I booked the reservation. That unexpected fee should have been disclosed up front.

The location can't be beat. The room was a bit older, but there was plenty of light (interior view of another building though). It did have an odd shape to it, kind of an L - which is fine, but made the TV at one end, and the bed at another. In my room, there was limited workspace, so I wasn't able to work in the room much - went to a cafe instead. I have walked by this hotel many times during trips to DC but never stayed. For the price, there are better options if what you're looking for is the best appointed room. But if you're needing to be right by the White House it's a solid option.

Staff was above and beyond friendly. Bartender made the best “real” espresso martini I have ever had (I have had a lot) and Maggie greeted us in the kindest happiest way everytime we saw her on the 9th floor.

Only a sheet or down comforter meaning your not warm enough or way to hot at night. Both above made for poor nights sleep.

Hotel was nice. The room I was assigned was not the same room booked but I was ok with that. The air in the room would not cool the room. I put Thermostat to 65 degrees but room wouldn’t get cooler than 76 degrees. I called the front desk to see if someone could come look at it. Had to call 6x before someone answered. I was told someone would come look at it and that was at 10:30pm. I feel asleep at 11 and no one ever came. I woke up at 7am sweating. I immediately got up and got ready to check out. Don’t think I’ll stay again due to the service
