Reviews
The Hotel Lombardy is a historic hotel with old-world charm and a central location in Washington D.C. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and proximity to attractions. However, some guests have experienced issues with electrical problems, outdated rooms, and a lack of certain amenities.

Classy and clean hotel in central DC. The room was comfortable and charming. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
- 3/5
The location was amazing and the staff was great. Outdated appliances, expensive, room was warm.

Old style hotel with all the bells and whistles at a superb location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food. Enjoyed our stay. Pillows were on the hard side,

We were fortunate to get upgraded to a suite. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It had more features than we could actually use, like a small kitchenette (sink / refrigerator) with a small dining table. Mattress and bedding were very comfortable. Staff at the front desk as well as the doormen were all pleasant.

This hotel is a well kept secret; a real jewel. As Washington DC is a frenetic and usually over-priced market, the Hotel Lombardy provides a friendly, quiet and comfortable relief from the usual. The doormen and front desk were very welcoming and always helpful. Our room was large and had a separate kitchenette room. The hotel is an older building, but very well kept and updated wherever needed. The price of parking was a bit high at $50 per day, but this included valet and in-out service. We parked about two blocks away with a Spothero space instead.
- 5/5
Such a cute historical hotel. The hospitality was off the charts. We loved our stay at Hotel Lombardy. Our room was so unique. We could walk to the White House. Close to the cutest shops and eateries. Would love to stay there again.
- 5/5
Very beautiful atmosphere not far from all museums and sites.
- 4/5
I liked the bed size, the bottles of water each day on my bedside table, the ‘maid’ who kindly ensured I had decaf coffee pods each day, the location which allowed me to access where I needed on foot, and grab a bite to eat or a drink just across the road in the air conditioned market, I liked the air con in room, the super soft towels, the ‘feel’ of the room, the adequate desk space, the absolutely delicious (albeit pricey) breakfasts! I would have liked the opportunity to have had use of a ‘shower room’ before leaving as weather very hot .. 12 check out good but with an evening flight, there are a lot of hours after 12 to get sweaty in..!
- 4.5/5
Pleasantly furnished Large room and good bathroom Large bed Bar and restaurant available. Clean and well serviced Shower in bath
- 5/5
Everything was perfect! The staff were kind and understanding. We had just arrived after attending a funeral in Maryland and the front desk upgraded our room since this was my first time visiting DC and it was such a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend this hotel and we plan to return in the future! Other than the elevators being a bit small and hard to catch if it were busy, everything else was perfect.
- 5/5
This is a lovely boutique hotel. It is centrally located in the business district, close to GWU and a train station.
- 4/5
Vintage-feel hotel with excellent staff and service. This place old school from head to toe. I haven’t been anywhere like it before and loved my night there. Thanks team.

- 4/5
The location is great, you're walking distance to the presidential mall and there's a pretty cheap parking garage that is walking distance as well. Staff was very friendly, even let me check in q couple hours earlier than their usual check in time and even offered to store our bags when we check out if we wanted to do some more ventures in DC Nothing comes to mind that I would consider a big deal
- 5/5
Very clean, close to many places, good customer service.
- 5/5
Older Hotel but very well maintained and very clean. Loved the location as was walking distance to many restaurants and other necessities.

Big and very bright room with separate kitchen space. It had all necessary amenities.public transport just under the hotel. Would definitely recommend and come back!
- 3/5
Shower wouldn’t drain, no vent in bathroom and window wouldn’t open so gets very hot during a shower, tv was not great to watch anything (green static for most of the screen). Great area, but just an older hotel. Staff was incredible.

Elegant and historic, the Lombardy is ideally located just a short walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro station, and the White House. All the many tourist sites (memorials and Smithsonian museums) are also within walking distance, and there are bars and eateries nearby. The hotel is clean, and the staff polite and very helpful. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.
- 4.5/5
Staff were great Dark rooms & lack of light
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, and good location!
- 5/5
This hotel is very charming! It was in a great location that made it very easy to walk or use public transportation.
- 3/5
The location was great and the staff was super nice. The hotel was quite old so the decor and rooms were dated. Even though the AC was on, it often felt warm.
- 5/5
Very comfortable and clean room in a central area of DC
- 4.5/5
Location was perfect and the vintage hotel excellent.
- 5/5
Historic hotel with a nice atmosphere, clean rooms, and a good bar
- 5/5
Great property and location
- 4/5
It was a short overnight business trip soo it served the purpose but overall it was a cute place. I wouldn’t book the standard room for a family though. For a business trip it’s perfect!
- 5/5
Great bar - Thanks Kyle
- 5/5
Immaculate bathroom and room
- 4/5
The check in staff was wonderful and upgraded our room to a suite when we mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary! How wonderful!! The location was great, rooms were dated but very well kept, comfy beds, I’d recommend for a night out to celebrate!
- 5/5
The staff was also helpful and welcoming. Will definitely be back
- 5/5
The staff was outstanding. The restaurant and team were gracious and the food was good. Wish they had a business center to sit at otherwise no complaints. It was a great place to stay.
- 5/5
I loved the large room and the location was very easy to get to all things DC. Kyle the bartender was so helpful and gave great information to make my stay more fun. The room was very comfortable and clean! I will come back one day.
- 4/5
We had a lovely stay ! The food was amazing
- 5/5
Clean convenient to sites
- 4/5
Loved the location, .5 miles to the White House and .7 miles to Georgetown. Great restaurant across the street, Founding Farmers.
- 5/5
Not too many frills.
- 4/5
- 5/5
Great overall
- 5/5
Great location; very courteous staff; short walk to Metro and being an easy walk to Georgetown and DuPont Circle; windows open, which we always like; and a bit of a landmark. Elevators were quaint.
- 5/5
Excellent experience at this hotel during short stay.
- 5/5
Great sleep and work setting. Any minor issues were resolved with ease and kindness. Looking forward to coming back.
- 5/5
Good stay
- 5/5
The food was delicious and plentiful. We relaxed by the pool and enjoyed the cocktails as well. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
- 4/5
Good breakfast selections. Cool speakeasy with good drinks and an amazing seasoned bartender with great D.C. stories. It's a vibe!
- 5/5
Everything was amazing staff, food ,service ,my favorite place to stay while in DC
- 4/5
Bathroom small and need walk in shower.
- 4/5
Bar was closed when I was there. Breakfast wasn’t great, service was average. They added a service charge automatically and then asked for a tip as well. Hotel staff were great, hotel had character, great location. Advice: skip the hotel breakfast and go the coffee shop two doors down. Much better
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Fantastic place. Super clean and a great shower. The only issue was a 5am ( roughly) garbage pickup with a very loud backup beeper on the garbage truck which is not under the control of the hotel
- 5/5
Its a quaint smaller boutique hotel, a fancy entrance with doorman and walking distance to the Mall. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and we were upgraded to a “suite” without asking. The hotel has that older style, with a darker color scheme. We had an entry hall, sitting room, bedroom and a smaller bathroom. Not much counter space for toiletries and NO FULL LENGTH MIRROR, although there was plenty of wall space for one. The bed and sheets were clean and comfy and the heat/ac worked great. Would definitely stay here again! Location was great!
- 5/5
This was our 2bd stay.
- 5/5
I’ve stayed in this hotel a number of times now and will continue to stay here for trips to DC. The staff is always courteous and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the location is perfect for my needs.
- 4/5

- 5/5
Big suite!
- 3/5
Location was excellent, easy to walk everywhere downtown. The hotel it’s old, the lights are very dimmed, feels like a Ghost will appear any minute, a little bit scary. The elevators fits 5 people at the most. Room and bathroom were not as clean, and AC made noise. Our room was very dark, it didn’t have good lighting, and we had to turn on the fan at night cause it kept getting hot
- 5/5
pretty awesome deal for the weekend stay + really nice bar
- 5/5
Staff was outstanding, made us feel special! Great room
- 5/5
We stayed two nights. Had breakfast at the hotel both days and it was delicious. Our second night we had dinner at the hotel, crab cakes were amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful.

- 5/5
Wonderful location in DC. Easy access to the National Mall and museums. Beautiful neighborhood in GW neighborhood. The staff was top notch. We will be back.
- 5/5
A classic hotel, nostalgic vibe. This was our third stay. Fantastically clean. Excellent staff. Adorable bar. Perfect location near GWU and all local DC landmarks.
- 5/5
It’s ala very convenient to George Washington university, a food hall, Whole Foods and a number of restaurants. Parking on the weekend wasn’t too bad as you could valet or park in a nearby self park garage.
- 5/5
Amazing location and staff super friendly.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Super clean
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly and attentive. When coming into the hotel it is great to have the team greet you and attend to you.
- 5/5
Great, historic spot. The staff work hard to be friendly and helpful. Find the bar, it's awesome. Comfy bed, spacious rooms, I stay frequently.
- 2/5
The hotel is outdated . It had a huge street work
- 5/5
My son and I very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lombardy during our quick spring break trip to beautiful Washington DC. Great location close to all that you'd want to see and a few very good restaurants as well. Hotel Lombardy has old world charm as mentioned in other reviews, but the amenities are up to par with clean rooms, bright and updated bathrooms, incredibly plush and comfortable beds and a delicious little restaurant at which we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast one morning. Daily complimentary bottles of water were a nice touch and the staff was lovely. The little kitcheny area was nice for a bit of extra space. Small issue, but I did find the hallways/corridors way too dark and given the on site restaurant there was always a strong food smell in the entry/lobby area..but small complaints to be sure given our overall stay.Thank you!
- 5/5
Entry and wait staff were beyond excellent!
- 4/5
Good location, great staff. The only downside was the very loud air conditioner in the room.
- 4/5
Good location, useful little kitchen area.
- 5/5
The hotel is 100 years old and has many nice class touches. We had a wet bar / kitchenette area in our rooms, nice bathrooms and spacious rooms with nice touches. We are tired of vanilla hotels so we chose something different. There was an issue with the parking deck when we arrived so we ended up in a deck less than a block away which was much cheaper on the weekend. The parking deck was fixed before we left so it shouldn’t be an ongoing issue. We ate breakfast and a light dinner one day and it was very good. Maybe a little privy but not bad for DC. There is a food court in western market which offers a nice variety and is a bit of a lower price point.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location was good and walking distance to the train. You are basically on the GW campus. The hotel has a nice little bar and restaurant, however, the immediate area is limited for bars if you wanted to get a late night drink. There are plent of places to eat close, I would consider all to be casual. The staff are great and the history of the place is cool.
- 5/5
Did not eat breakfast I don’t think they had a breakfast bar?
- 4/5
Great location clean vintage sharm
- 5/5
Great bed, delicious breakfast, hot shower, spacious room and attention staff. We had a great stay and used the good location as a good base to explore the city. Lots of nearby restaurants in walking distance.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
The hotel has an old world charm that I enjoyed. They allowed us to check in early without us even asking. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. I will definitely stay here again!
- 3/5
The hotel was very dark. The people at reception were friendly and nice but the cafe worker got my food order wrong and the bellman was not helpful and didn’t even help us load luggage and just stood around wanting a tip. Location was good for what we needed but I would not stay here again
- 5/5
Ate at the bar a lot
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
Location is near the metro station.
- 4/5
Clean property and convenient location for getting around DC. The breakfast was great and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Great room and helpful staff, right in the heart of the city. Just blocks from the National Mall, with a lot of charm. We really enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 4/5
Staff was kind, close proximity to things in DC. Room seemed like
- 4/5
We personally loved our stay. Our room was above expectations with the extra sitting/kitchenette area. We had friends stay with us that had the same room set up. However, their fridge was not stocked and they didn't get daily room service (they paid the same price). For a price...we had all kinds of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages in our fridge which was greatly appreciated. There were snacks available as well...with a price list. The lounge was amazing. The place is very clean and the staff was great. Within walking distance of any needs.
- 5/5
Great location! Very cool hotel!
- 4/5
The hotel was conveniently located for our trip. It’s an older property with smaller rooms and other public areas but served our purpose well. Will consider staying here again.
- 4/5
This hotel worked out well for us. It does lack some of the amenities offered at other hotels. There is a wonderful food court right across the street!
- 5/5
Very welcoming staff, room was exceptional
- 2/5
It was very lacking for the nightly fee.
- 5/5
This historic building is delightfully charming offering spacious rooms. The water pressure and temperature in the shower is the best I have enjoyed in an older building. The location is near a multitude of restaurants serving diverse cuisine and within walking distance of many points of interest in DC. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'm booking with them again to see the Washington National Opera which now performs at the Lisner Auditorium.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, good sized room, nicely furnished, good location.
- 1/5
I think this is a pretty old building, it has its pros and cons, and if you have allergies, you should be careful...I felt I was suffocating.
- 5/5
I had a comfortable stay and the staff was warm and welcoming. This was my second stay there.
- 3/5
Staff was nice, room was clean, bar/lounge was nice. Room could have used some updates and amenities but maybe that is just part of the charm.
- 4/5
Small but super clean rooms, an architectural jewel in a great location
- 4/5
Exactly what I expected. Excellent food and drink and a very courteous staff. Always looking to help the traveler.
- 5/5
Staff polite and very helpful. Room clean and plentifully stocked with goodies.
- 5/5
Staff was courteous
- 4/5
Perfect location, comfortable room, outstanding breakfast. Will definitely stay there again on my next trip to D.C.!
- 5/5
Property is beautiful, clean and convenient. Rooms are old-school, so slightly small. Restaurant lovely and bright.
- 5/5
Clean spacious comfortable room.
- 5/5
Everything is wonderful!
- 5/5
Everything about this property is top notch. Staff is amazing and rooms are perfect.
- 5/5
Lovely boutique hotel with a great location. The staff was very attentive and nice to work with.
- 5/5
Clean and classy rooms with very kind staff. Centrally located as well.
- 3/5
Room was clean and staff were courteous. The room was small and the view was of offices, like you can see people working at their desks. The room was also dated and lacked amenities like a USB port. The hotel had charm, but could use updating. The coffee in the restaurant downstairs was excellent.
- 5/5
Front desk staff were very friendly, room was extremely clean. One of the cleaner bathrooms that I have ever seen. The bed, was extremely comfortable. There is nothing fancy about the hotel but, it had warm, homely feel. Plus, the location was fantastic.
- 1/5
Extremely loud, HVAC
- 4/5
Bed making was good
- 5/5
Such a charming throwback hotel with a great bar and very courteous staff. Room was spotless and linens supreme. Will definitely stay again when coming to DC. Easy walk to food market and to Founding Farmers. A+++++
- 5/5
Special designed hotel. Services good
- 5/5
Quaint hotel with very comfy beds and plenty of space. Close to the metro made getting in, out, and around simple.
- 5/5
The staff is lovely. Location is great and the Hotel is a nicely kept historic building with an amazing restaurant that more people should try out.
- 5/5
Beautiful space with a very hospitable staff. Great location. Would love to visit Hotel Lombardy again. Charming hotel bar as well.
- 4/5
Overall not bad. However, the sheets had a very strong bleach smell, which was quite unpleasant. Also, the toilet is really small
- 5/5
I have stayed at the Hotel Lombardy 10-12 nights in the past 18 months and have enjoyed my stay every time. The staff is always cordial and helpful, the rooms are lovely, and the hotel is well located.
- 5/5
Great staff, beautiful room
- 5/5
Worlde and all staff was amazing!!
- 3/5
Outdated!! Needs new decoration and new furniture. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Staff was very kind and gave us a room upgrade. Room was spacious (with a small kitchenette) and very clean if dated. The one negative was the TV. I am not sure they have cable TV? Only local channels available. Location is great right across from GW University and near the mall and monuments. The hotel has a vintage feel but is well maintained and a great value.
- 3/5
Breakfast was not included which was misleading based on description. Evening staff, particularly, the woman at concierge, was not very friendly (woman in morning was nice) Overall quite expensive, especially valet parking which was $50/night. Would have been nice to be informed about other options.
- 5/5
Great service. Great ambiance. Loved the character of the hotel.
- 5/5
Are the desired amenities were available. Large rooms.

This hotel is CHARMING! Everything about it is exceptional - from room amenities, delightful and welcoming staff!
- 5/5
Such a cozy, comfortable hotel! The staff was so kind and welcoming and the bar is a hidden gem. Everything we hoped it would be!
- 5/5
Good location, clean, great staff, a little on the older side but has a nice charm to it
- 5/5
Super friendly staff, cozy room.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff were friendly and professional, amenities were nice. Well placed location that made walking around the city a breeze.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable. Staffs were nice.
- 5/5
Charming rooms and attentive staff.
- 5/5
This was a really nice little hotel. I really enjoyed myself the staff was friendly. The rooms was clean. The heat worked perfectly fine. The kitchen in the room was so cute and convenient. I will book here again I highly recommend.this hotel

Location, staff, and historical
- 5/5
I love this hotel. The hotel is impeccable and the staff is amazing. It is the best kept secret of Washington DC
- 5/5
Old but classy place
- 5/5
Clean. Staff very helpful
- 5/5
Room was spotless and staff was courteous and our stay, although cut short because of icemegedden 2026, was great.
- 3/5
WiFi didn’t work.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, the place was quiet and quaint. We loved that its away from the businesses of DC. The restaurant food outstanding.
- 4/5
I was able to secure a very good last minute rate at the hotel and was not sure what to expect. Lobby is small but efficient, elevator worked fine, room was nice and cool and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was tiny but clean and all in all, for the price, I had a nice stay. I did use the restaurant for breakfast...again a small room but food was good and waiter was nice.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff was always pleasant and extremely helpful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The location was convenient. This is an older hotel. It’s in the National Historic Registry, and that really appealed to me. They have valet parking. It’s an extra $52 a night, which is reasonable, as parking is hard to come by in D.C.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel, clean, courteous staff, perfect location
- 4/5
The Hotel itself didn’t have any issues, there was a big construction project next to it so they started early morning with jack hammers and heavy machinery, we had to check out a day early to avoid that.
- 4/5
Good small hotel. Dated but quaint. Hardly a gym to speak of
- 5/5
This was on of the best hotel stays we’ve had in some time. Property is beautifully kept and very clean. All staff we encountered from check in, to our dinner in the bar and breakfast the next morning where, friendly, professional, and attentive to needs. I’d highly recommend Hotel Lombardy.
- 5/5
Great room. Friendly staff. Awesome location.
- 4/5
Breakfast was very good. Servivebthru the stay very good
- 4/5
Staff is excellent, rooms are clean - there needs to be a hook on the back of the door or on the wall to hang up clothes - with no counter space - the bathroom is a challenge. Overall a nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Breaksfast and bar were amazing, food was super good and all the staff very kind
- 5/5
Clean room, staff lovely, breakfast really good
- 5/5
The hotel is lovely and the staff incredibly warm and friendly. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The location is fantastic.
- 4/5
Clean room.
- 4/5
Clean room, staff attention, room design
- 5/5
What an incredible staff - friendly, helpful, personal. And what a great find - right around the corner from GWU. I loved the architecture and old world (well, 1920's) feel.
- 4/5
Clean rooms, lots of space for the city, perfect location. Just very dated, Needs a refresh.
- 5/5
Why does you have to put in so many characters……………:…
- 5/5
The room was spacious and very clean. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The location was perfect for the Kennedy Center with free shuttle service from the Foggy Bottom at GWU just 2 to 3 blocks away. All in all, it was a delightful stay and I would stay there again!
- 2/5
I was not informed that breakfast was included in stay.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, cosy room, location
- 5/5
Clean, spacious, friendly staff, well located. Would stay there in my next visit to DC.
- 5/5
The suite was big and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful.
- 3/5
Shower had draining issue
- 5/5
Everything is great in this hotel. Cleanliness, staff, amenities, location. Nothing not to love. Been a guest for 20 years and counting.
- 4/5
Great decor. Room incredibly spacious, although looked straight into an office building not far away. Bathroom also very spacious, with good shower water pressure. Elevator juddered a little. Glass office desk in the rooms a little incongruous with the rest of the decor. Super comfortable bed, lovely timber furniture (sans office desk), comfortable office chair, a pleasing painting of horses hanging above the bed. Appreciated having a wireless charger for the phone above the alarm clock. Large wardrobe. Staff generally quite helpful.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Staff is friendly and always helpful. rooms were clean along with comfy beds.
- 5/5
Staff wea wonderful polite. The place was quiet.
- 4/5
This is our second time staying at a Lombardy (first time in NYC). We loved the atmosphere of this hotel. It was super cool that it was a historic hotel. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms were a nice size and the hotel was in a great location for us. My only criticisms would be that the TVs were small and outdated; and in our room the toilet kept running. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others!
- 5/5
The staff was lovely and the room was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities. I love the historic old world feel of this hotel. I will definitely be staying here again.
- 5/5
Great staff and stay.

Everything. Old world spacious rooms with little kitchen off to one side and separate make up room with table and chair in front of the closet to the side of the bath. I needed a lint brush and was brought immediately.
- 5/5
The beds were very comfortable and clean. The little kitchen area is perfect for having in room dining. Front office staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
The room was extremely spacious. Everything is within walking distance including the metro to the White House.
- 5/5
I booked Hotel Lombardy wanting to experience something different and vintage and, I was not disappointed in the least. Room was very well furnished and all the amenities were well maintained. Hotel staff was also very cordial and greeted every time they came across. Check-in/check-out experience was also pretty smooth. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely consider it for our next trip to DC.
- 5/5
It is a quant, cozy hotel. A little dated but that adds to its charm. Fabulous bed and bed linen, fantastic location and the cozy bar with Mohammed , was wonderful. We will return for sure
- 5/5
This hotel was the perfect mix of charming and comfortable! It has that beautiful antique feel, but is spotless and well cared for. We loved being able to walk to so many spots on the National Mall. and nearby museums. Such a huge plus! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our stay even better. The bathroom had amazing water pressure (always a win!), and the room was super clean. We truly had a fantastic stay and would absolutely come back!
- 5/5
The bellhop and the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Since we were traveling with a toddler, the front desk upgraded us to a bigger room and the bellhop helped with the luggage since we had the stroller. Very welcoming from the beginning and through our stay. Would recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Everything was awesome, staff, room, restaurant! I will recommend and even stay there again.
- 4/5
Location
- 3/5
Beautiful on the outside, a bit dated on the inside. Probably fine for a tourist stay but not for a business trip.
- 2/5
Very nice staff. Room was very small, limited WiFi, tv didn’t really work
- 5/5
Spacious room, kind staff
- 4/5
Location is fantastic. The room was comfortable, friendly staff.

Older unique boutique hotel near 20th St NW with interesting food choices at Western Market and close to Farragut West Metro
- 5/5
Clean hotel, great service. Definitely will stay again. Thought hotel parking was a bit high but it is a city
- 4/5
Nice room great service friendly staff
- 5/5
Room and bathroom was spotless. Housekeeping was very friendly and efficient.

The room we were first given upon check-in was not suitable at all, but we were pleased with the room they gave us after we objected and discounted the extra cost. We were pleased with the room cleanliness and restaurant facilities.
- 5/5
Easy check in, nice room
- 5/5
The staff is very accommodating, thoughtful and aware of guests' needs and wants. I have stayed at this location multiple times and the service an experience have been great.
- 4/5
This was our second stay at Hotel Lombardy. We very much enjoy the quaintness of this property, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was our room was very noisy. We were next to the elevator and housekeeping was very loud. It was very disappointing because otherwise the room was very comfortable. We will definitely be returning to Hotel Lombardy in the future but I will make sure to request a better room. Special thanks to our waiter/bartender Mohammed, he is a joy!
- 5/5
Exceeded expectations. Clean, comfortable, unique. Loved the friendly service all around - especially the door man! The cozy hidden bar in the back was a special treat, with the warm fire, comfortable seating, and lovely service. Wouldn’t change a thing - a unique, affordable, and classy stay.
- 5/5
The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, everything was clean and in working order. We had a lovely stay and would stay here again!
- 5/5
The staff was so friendly! The hotel is so unique!! Great place!
- 4/5
This charming hotel offers old world elegance at reasonable prices. My weekend stay included three meals, all delicious. Service at the restaurant was friendly and fast with food for every taste. Staff was welcoming and helpful from start to finish. A few final touches would make this a 5-star review. First, those card keys. All the other hotels use a handle, not a doorknob with the card key. The screen was unpredictable, sometimes taking 15 minutes to finally read my card and turn the knob at just the right moment. After a long, tiring day, this is very frustrating. Second, the room was rather cool due to the vent, even when I turned up the heat. Two bottles of water were left for me on my second night, but not on my arrival. Next, cable channels are only available with a Roku device that needs to be attached to the TV. Manager offered to send an engineer if I needed help but I'm used to having many channels available with one device. There was also a digital clock with an alarm that was preset to 6 AM, which I did not discover until it woke me up. There were no instructions and I am so used to using my phone alarm that I did not bother to check the settings. Please turn off previous settings before the next guest arrives. Positives include a large bathroom with plenty of towels, toiletries, and a bathrobe. The bed was enormous and very comfortable, along with all the pillows. Front desk is available 24 hours and always pleasant.
- 5/5
Historic, classic, with comfy beds. Stay here!
- 5/5
Room/staff are Excellent!
- 3/5
Staff was lovely and the room was super clean, but the drinkware and coffee SHOULD not be next to and above the toilet. Also, the electric outlets were mostly broken or difficult to reach.
- 5/5
Traditional hotel. Nice sized rooms. Great location. Very nice staff.
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Professional setting and convenient location.
- 5/5
Loved the old world charm and everyone was so nice, polite and helpful.
- 5/5
We loved the Lombardy! Old fashioned doorman service, a cozy bar where we met some interesting locals and a classic room. The location is perfect. Right between 2 Metro stations and walking distance to the Mall, White House, GW U, Georgetown and The Kennedy Center.
- 5/5
very clean room, friendly staff
- 4/5
Lovely old grand Dame of a hotel. I liked all the heritage features and my room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Dinner in the restaurant exceeding expectations. Few noise issues from back street I guess due to the older style of windows perhaps but you can’t help the tricks
- 5/5
It was everything I hoped for.
- 5/5
Everything was great. The staff, the parking, the room, the bar, the other guests. Truly a gem and a fantastic deal for the price
- 5/5
We were greeted most cordially by the doorman and reception. The lobby area was clean and inviting with chairs to sit The room was spacious and clean and was well attended every day. Thr bathroom was very roomy, if a little dated. I live that there is a separation for shower/toilet and sink area and they is plenty of counter space. I like that they gave us water bottles. Our view out to the street was nice! The breakfast in the restaurant was really delicious and the decor made me feel as though I were in Morocco. The music was 40s ans 50s which added to the ambiance. The whole vibe of the hotel made me feel like I was in a time past which I absolutely loved. The location was great. We were able to walk many places. It was reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again!!
- 5/5
Great hotel, nice room, wonderful food and a perfect location

We were uograded and able to check in early. Staff was courteous and helpful. Thanks for a great and memorable stay.
- 5/5
Hotel is old, but clean and well maintained. Everything worked as it was supposed to. I felt it was a very good value in a very good location. I upgraded to a suite for more room, and was happy to have the extra room.
- 5/5
Love this
- 5/5
Clean rooms, the staff is wonderful. Always a great experience
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Everything was great: the staff at the front desk (can't remember her name, it had an "n"), the gentleman who brought the suitcases, and also the hotel, clean, smells nice, good coffee maker, ample bathroom, big nice bed. And the location is great, across a bunch of stores and a couple of blocks from Whole Foods
- 5/5
The Hotel Lombardy was such a well maintained older boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again
- 4/5
Very good place, and very nice service
- 5/5
After a few hiccups with noise levels, they put us in the perfect room, high above noise. The room was immaculate, staff was friendly, helpful and service was impeccable!!! Great historical place and easy location. When in the area, we will stay again!! Outstanding hotel.
- 3/5
very antique hotel. not modern at all. No lounge hang out area just a foyer. The room was hard to get in due to the gate and the key. the bathroom bathtub was clogged daily after showers- water was running so slow. The window seal had so much mold on it. It was a convenient hotel for what I needed to do but i wouldn’t stay here again
- 5/5
My partner and I had an incredible stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic; we could easily walk to all the monuments and great restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again when I return.
- 5/5
With great staff. Thank you for a terrific stay.
- 5/5
I had to pay to extend checkout to 3pm, but it all worked out well.
- 5/5
Always feels safe and cozy. Great team.
- 5/5
I love The Lombardy, especially the suites. A mix of nostalgic and modern comforts. Only real concern is that every outlet is worn out. Could barely get a plug to power an appliance - phone, hairdryer, etc. which I told the desk clerk when I left.
- 5/5
Service was amazing. The rooms were spacious and comfortable
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful and friendly.service was excellent and the room was very clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Accommodations were well-maintained, comfortable.
- 5/5
It's an old building (apparently), but the room interior was renovated immaculately. Sheets are clean, carpet spotless, walls and baseboards completely spotless; no musty odors. Everything seemed new and fresh. And the room is quiet.
- 3/5
Check in was nice. We had a super friendly staff member help us with our luggage. After a late dinner we returned to the room and our tv was not working. A staff member came up and couldn’t fix it so he called front desk clerk to see if tv could be switched out. Clerk said “No. That can’t be done and I gotta go I have another call”. Nothing was done. In the morning we notified the manager and she said “Well, tv’s can’t be switched.” And this was our first and last time staying here.
- 5/5
great room. bed extremely comfortable. check in staff wonderful. Bar was very accommodating
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 5/5
I would stay again.
- 5/5
Enjoyed staying at Hotel Lombardy. It’s a cool old building. Walkable to a lot of DC sites & restaurants. Only complaint is the shower didn’t drain well.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly rooms were nice and clean.
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful, the staff made our experience so much better. They were friendly, courteous and welcoming, we felt very well seeing everything was properly clean.
- 5/5
We all had a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
The place was amazing. I won't stay anywhere else when I go back. Worth every penny for the feeling of a living piece of history.
- 4/5
Room clean, lighting good. Only two elevators with one being small. Overall great location.
- 4/5
Everything and everyone is truly amazing. The only negative I can say we experienced was the ac unite being really loud throughout the evening.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed the fact that this hotel mirrored the area and the era of the mid-19 century. With the way that the rooms are set up, the carpeting in the hallways, and even the flags and the overhang in front of the hotel made me feel I was coming into a very classy and era specific hotel. I was greeted friendly by all the staff members from the door person up to the room help. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The location of the hotel was close to the theater where the concert I was going to was located at and also to a metro station.
- 5/5
The sweetest staff. A MUST stay for GW parents!
- 5/5
Great experience and beautful hotel
- 5/5
Location is good. Room is comfortable and clean! WiFi is strong. Stuff is friendly.
- 5/5
Outstanding service at front desk.
- 5/5
Great hotel great location.
- 5/5
Great location and helpful staff! Foggy Bottom metro stop just a few blocks down. Excellent eateries in the area. Only complaint no cable, but plenty of activities in DC to keep you busy!

- 5/5
We were pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Lombardy. The location was very convenient to nearby metro stops. The staff was so welcoming and efficient. Our room was kept spotless every day, and all products were replenished daily. Bottles of water were also provided daily. We felt truly pampered and well taken care of. I will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Clean rooms, excellent service to the customers. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious. Excellent location. Over all I will highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
It was very nice. Rooms were perfect. Beds were very comfortable. Great location for all the museums.
- 5/5
We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate my son’s 13th birthday. It was a lovely historic hotel within walking distance of several restaurants. We were able to walk to the Smithsonian Museums within 30 minutes.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was great
- 3/5
Pay in cash, don’t make my mistake.
- 5/5
Clean room. Kind staff. Good breakfast and bar
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Old building, cracked
- 4/5
Bedding, pillows, and space were enjoyable!
- 5/5
. We could walk or take the Metro to everything.
- 5/5
This was my first stay at this hotel and I chose it primarily for location. It was convenient for my various meetings and very central. But I was very pleasantly surprised at how charming the hotel is. My room was great, spacious, comfortable and had everything I needed, for example a robe, a small fridge and a safe that was conveniently located. I was there for 8 nights, so the hotel matters, and I was very happy at the Lombardy. I will certainly stay there again.
- 4/5
Good convenient hotel but substantial noise within corridor where room was situated. Otherwise recommend
- 5/5
What a delight! If you like old hotels with charm this is fun. Rooms are huge. If you are into modern sterile hotels this isn’t the one for you. I stayed with my elderly mom for a few days of site seeing and it was absolutely charming. Staff were superb!
- 5/5
Very clean and friendly!
- 5/5
The staff was excellent. The beds were great a really great location.
- 2/5
Horrible food. Soso rooms. Bad location
- 5/5
Location was great, and staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
The staff is wonderful. It always feels like coming home!
- 5/5
Very good experience, great staff, hotel is historic and comfortable, cute bar and restaurant.
- 5/5
Good location and very nice clean room.
- 4/5
Service was a bit of a hit or miss. We had to call room service several times,
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is in a great spot that is close to almost everything. My wife and I enjoyed our time there and would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
This beautiful older hotel was stellar. The bar is cozy and exceptional. The dining room was a treat for breakfast or dinner. Our room may have been the cleanest room we've every had. It was a terrific 6 night stay.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
We had the most wonderful stay here ! Everyone was so nice and helpful , and the hotel itself is beautiful and historic . Thank you all for an awesome stay !
- 4/5
This is an old but quite quirky hotel that revels in its attempt to stay in a time gone by. That creates a bit of a period atmosphere but at the same time the hotel feels dated and rather dark and small. The rooms are adequately large and comfortable but unless you have a room with a view to front, expect to always be in a state of semi darkness. The doorman and restaurant staff are superb with the friendliness and welcoming attitude. Conversely, the two men I came across on reception were helpful but rather cold in their attitude. The hotel is well situated for accessing all the tourist sights and a Metro station is a simple 10 minute walk away.
- 5/5
Close to the white house!!
- 2/5
There a HUGE black bug (as big as a cockroach but wasn’t green) that was dead inside of the closet. Not sure if there were more, but when mentioned to the front desk after requesting a refund, all they can say was sorry for the inconvenience. Been to plenty of hotels and never saw this before. Disrespectful and shows no sign of cleanliness.
- 5/5
Super friendly and accommodating staff. Very convenient to all we wanted to do.
- 5/5
Clean spacious convenient affordable
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Conveniently located near George Washington University.
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent except for the thin windows. the room was on the back of the hotel were the business across the way kept emptying the trash every hour. other than that my wife and I had a great stay. The hotel restaurant was delightful. Staff excellent.
- 5/5
Small dining room but the staff and food was excellent. Over all the staff was friendly and made you feel welcomed would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Nice hotel nestled close to the GWU and Foggy Bottom area. Easily accessible to bus, Metro or walking to many amenities. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. price was also extremely reasonable! Would stay here again!
- 5/5
Really nice, not just for the price, not a ton of amenities but if you need a comfortable and convenient place to stay this is a great spot.
- 5/5
Great stay comfortable bed. Great locaton
- 5/5
Overall great hotel with a reasons price and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
- 4/5
Central location and friendly stuff.
- 3/5
It’s an old hotel. It was clean, bedroom was good. But old fashioned. Bathroom drain wasn’t draining well.
- 4/5
this hotel has terrific old charm. Location cant be beat especially if you have a kid at GWU. some things are old and worn but i think the charm outweighs that. my keylock was very finicky and the hotel staff had to let me in once.
- 5/5
Nice boutique hotel, walking distance to everything, convenient to GWU.
- 5/5
We were 15 minutes walk from the White House. The sights were easily accessible on foot. (We are Brits and we like to walk around). We felt very safe in the area. The beds were so comfortable, we could have taken them home! A big shout out to Muhammed in the restaurant who could not do enough for us. I highly recommend this hotel.

- 5/5
This hotel has a French style with some Asian influences. It is beautifully decorated and the hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. A+!
- 5/5
Check in and out was so easy. Staff is very friendly. Place is emaculate
- 5/5
This is my go to hotel for Washington DC. Helpful and friendly staff. Beds are very comfortable. Bar is quiet and relaxed.
- 2/5
Quaint hotel, rooms decent size, service is terrible, no room service, cleaning is poor, staff appears not trained nor supervised, outlets lose in room, no lights, too expensive for number of flaws
- 5/5
Great European-style cozy hotel reasonably priced for downtown D.C.
- 5/5
This hotel has been the best we have stayed in so far during our US trip. The lovely staff member upgraded our room complimentary upon hearing we were celebrating our honeymoon. The room was huge - more like an apartment. The dining was incredible - we loved all our meals and the lovely wait staff. Can’t recommend this place more highly - especially if you like old charm accommodation
- 4/5
We loved our stay! The only issue was with the wifi, which was in and out quite a bit. Overall, the staff, the restaurants, the location and the cleanliness were excellent.
- 5/5
Great staff. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to transportation and main attractions. You can walk to the White House and other national buildings.
- 5/5
Room was very spacious
- 5/5
Washington sight seeing
- 5/5
Very comfortable and roomy accommodations. Perfect location convenient to GWU as we were dropping off child for college. Opted for nearby lot parking which saved some $. Inadvertently left laptop at hotel; called and mailed it promptly back to me. Would happily stay there again.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel
- 5/5
Loved the location
- 5/5
Historic DC hotel in a great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy access to Metro. We'll happily stay there again

The desk and door/car staff are always friendly, helpful, just super.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing! Front desk? Amazing! Valet? Amazing! Thanks for making our stay so pleasant!
- 5/5
Excellent resort and I would definitely stay there again DC.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel. Will def stay again
- 5/5
The customer service and staff was a 10/10. I would stay here again. Loved everything ab the hotel
- 3/5
Firm Beds
- 1/5
It's a super old hotel marketed as historic. No ramp for kids' strollers, cramped up elevators, terrible beds, super small rooms and rest rooms.
- 4/5
A clean hotel with friendly staff. Easy access to public transport and local tourist sightseeing locations.

- 5/5
Great hotel with professional staff.
- 4/5
Overall the stay was good. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only two negative things was one, the power button on the tv remote didn’t work so I had to turn the tv off and on by pressing the power button on the tv, and lastly, the WiFi didn’t work very well.
- 5/5
It was a very nice location and perfect for the price. I felt very at home in this location.
- 4/5
Great hotel. Beds and bedding are very comfortable. A/C worked beautifully. The staff were extremely hospitable. Room was huge! There was an extra little room with a mini bar/sink where we could put our luggage. And the extra sink is always appreciated. The only concern was the shower basin was spongy. If a person with balance issues used it they may have trouble. But the water pressure and hot water were abundant.
- 4/5
Cute vintage atmosphere and good location but overall quite average.
- 3/5
I didn't care for the poor customer service by the night door staff. He was very disrespectful when requesting items to take a shower.
- 5/5
Nice place and helpful management
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and rooms were very nice. Family of 4 so we had two rooms side-by-side. Everyone was very comfortable, rooms were super clean and fully stocked! Perfect walking distance to everything.
- 5/5
Really nice staff . Close to alot of attractions
- 5/5
The vintage aspect was so nice! I loved it!
- 5/5
It was very nice and clean only negative thing I didn’t like noisy ay nights cars , ambulances
- 5/5
All major sites within walking distance. Metro station quite close also
- 5/5
Everyone was super friendly and considerate!
- 5/5
They took pride in their building, saw a gentleman constantly buffing the poles that held up the exterior awning! They held doors for us, always greeted us with a smile. The room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the waitstaff and bar tender were superb. The location was convenient, between 2 Metro lines and not an excessively long walk to see local sites. We used Lyft a couple of times and never waited more than 5 minutes. Over all an excellent experience, thank you to all!!
- 4/5
A very well situated, older hotel
- 5/5
Our favorite hotel in DC.
- 5/5
Great, personable service, convenient location. Didn't try the restaurant but everything else was great
- 5/5
Loved our stay at Hotel Lombardy! So clean, beautiful, and convenient to all of our DC needs.Would stay again!
- 5/5
Absolutely my favorite hotel in DC!
- 5/5
Thr bed was omfy, nice room and a rerally nice place for a historic property!
- 5/5
Historic place well kept. Convenient and safe place
- 5/5
I love this hotel. Makes me feel like I am traveling overseas. Convenient to everything. Lovely staff.
- 3/5
It was average . Location is as nice . If u are not paying a lot to stay then worth it .
- 5/5
No comment
- 3/5
It’s an old hotel and with that, everything is dated. Probably no updates since the 1990’s. That’s fine but just FYI. And the service was non-existent. There was also something “misplaced” in my room. A watch.
- 1/5
No parking..
- 5/5
I had a hard time finding it because of the streets in that plaza. They had a small awning in front with the number on it but no signage. Nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Nice property. Older hotel but clean with friendly staff. Good restaurants and grocery store within walking distance. Use the metro buses and subway to get around. Very easy
- 5/5
We stay atcthw Lombardy hotel whenever we visit DC. It is clean, and well maintained. Staff is also friendly. We highly recommend
- 5/5
Our family brought my 90 yr old mother to DC for a birthday trip.
- 5/5
Very good location, very good service, the hotel is a little old but the most important thing is that it is very clean.
- 5/5
Amazing stay. Location was perfect.
- 5/5
Excellent staff and accommodations for the price! Great location between DuPont and the Mall. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Extremely friendly staff, super clean, spacious room and amazing l9cation with lots of yummy restaurants near by.
- 5/5
Great location. Helpful friendly staff. Good value. Nicely appointed rooms, clean and spacious.
- 5/5
Customer service on point. The hotel porters were very pleasant and i loved the hotel decor. Very vintage. However, the hotel's elevator smelled like trash each time I used it.
- 5/5
Great! The staff was amazing
- 4/5
Nice and old fashioned property
- 5/5
So pleased with this historical boutique hotel! Great location, great service and large room!
- 4/5
Good location, plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, in a bit more of a business area of Washington, less that 15mins walk to the Whitehouse,
- 5/5
Exemplary service, especially from the doormen who also work as bellhop and parking valet. They each make your stay a warm, comfortable and enjoyable experience.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel in a perfect spot for restaurants and the metro.
- 5/5
Hotel was close to my daughter’s university and close to the restaurants and capitol. Clean as well
- 5/5
All the staff at Hotel Lombardy are wonderful! Very thoughtful and kind in every way. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable.
- 5/5
Wilfredo was excellent. So helpful at check in, during visit and checkout.
- 5/5
Very clean room and common areas and curtious staff.
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
Perfect lication in the heart of the city.
- 5/5
Excellent front line staff.
- 5/5
Staff were great, very quiet.
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
However, the hotel itself feels very outdated—perhaps understandably so, given that it is a historic property. The furniture and room accessories are quite old-fashioned, and the air conditioner was very noisy. It was so loud that we had to turn it off during the night because we simply couldn’t sleep with it on. Our room was on the second floor, and we could clearly hear the street noise from outside, which made it difficult to rest. Additionally, the room, bathroom, and shower were all rather small, and again, everything inside looked quite dated. While the charm of a historic hotel can be appealing to some, we felt that certain updates—especially to the furniture and infrastructure—are long overdue.
- 5/5
The staff were very kind and attentive. The room was super clean. Softest sheets in the world. My only issue was that the tub was high and there wasn’t a safety bar to grab to step out of the shower.
- 5/5
Electric outlets for plugging in electronic gadgets are loose and needs to be updated.
- 4/5
Love The Lombardy. Have stayed there numerous times. However, this room - 413 - does not have a full length mirror, so I had to stand in the bed to get something close to a full length view. Also, the electric outlet in the bathroom needs to be replaced; it’s loose and does not securely hold an appliance prong.
- 4/5
bathtub drain was very very slow and poor ventilation as well as little shelf or sink space, TV optons are very dated and i assume they had the exterminator spray the room while we were out.....yuk! pros: Valets were exceptional as was the onsite restaurant...best meals we had in DC for sure! and desk clerk really helped us out one night when a door dash order came without utensils...try eating indian without!
- 5/5
Excellent service at this quiet, elegant hotel.
- 5/5
Beautifully historic property with top notch service. I would stay here again and again!
- 5/5
The hotel is older but very well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can walk to many coffee shops and restaurants from the area.
- 5/5
Impeccable service. As GW parents, we have stayed here many times and the staff, especially the warm and friendly doormen, have become our friends. The hotel is a great value and the accommodations are fairly luxurious, if somewhat outdated. This is the only drawback in that there aren't a lot of modern touches. One great highlight - the super powerful rain shower.
- 5/5
My only complaint is that on the Monday morning of our stay there were very noisy sanitation and other service vehicles outside our window starting at about 5:30 am. It was steady loud noise for at least the next hour and a half. I wasn’t able to get back to sleep. I will ask not to have a room facing the alley on my next stay.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Old world charm with a modern feel. Room was very clean. Loved the fixtures in the bathroom. Would definitely stay there again. Hotel was very affordable. Booked through expedia.com
- 4/5
Decent place in a great location. Staff isn’t particularly helpful or friendly, especially at the front desk. Totally inflexible on check out times. I’d stay here again only if nothing else was available at a similar price.
- 5/5
Safe, quiet and convenient
- 5/5
My stay was wonderful! The staff was very nice and helpful. My room was spacious. I would certainly stay there again. The property was walking distance to all the major monuments as well.
- 5/5
We always stay at Hotel Lombardy when visiting DC. Very convenient to everything.
- 5/5
The staff were very kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Old style hotel. Well maintained. High quality service.
- 5/5
Staff was incredibly helpful
- 5/5
Historic. Friendly. Great location.
- 5/5
This trip was business/pleasure and we couldn't have been happier staying at Hotel Lombardy. It is an historic property and you can see the history within it's walls. You don't get the standard sterile hotel feel, this hotel is wonderful and feels like home.
- 4/5
The staff is excellent. They are very helpful and customer oriented. I just think they need some upgrades from 70's to now. A little more light and charging capabilities for phones, etc. Control of heat and ac without help from staff. Overall, it was fantastic. Enjoyed the decor
- 5/5
Si vuelvo a Washinton DC me volveria a quedar alla
- 5/5
Nice beautiful hotel. Walkable distance for major tourists places and museums.
- 1/5
The door was not opening, and the toilet was always clogged. They changed my room, but in the new room, the water for washing my hands was very little, and there was no water in the room the whole time. I was thirsty, and overall, I didn't like the hotel. They gave me the worst room, and it was not a good hotel for that price.
- 5/5
Clean charming
- 5/5
Loved this Hotel!
- 4/5
Nice building. I sadly had the room closest to the alley, which was very noisy in the morning from garbage trucks and delivery trucks.
- 3/5
All staff was wonderful! I booked Lombardy specifically for the old, quaint upscale experience. But I wished I had chosen differently. Property is very old and needs respectful historical updates. I could smell kitchen smells in hallways and my room. Elevators seem from the 1960’s, bathrooms just need redone to modernize. Lots of road noise from my room. Common areas weren’t real nice.
- 4/5
Well maintained but dated. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Some of the snacks available to purchase as part of the snack bar were months expired. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
I liked the location
- 3/5
Location is very good
- 5/5
Loved the staff..over the top!
- 5/5

Hotel Lombardy was a charming hotel in DC’s business district. The staff are very personable, knowledgeable and effective. We enjoyed the dining within the Hotel, especially breakfast in the cheery cafe.

Great stay for a weekend. No frills but clean.

Hotel Lombardy was quiet and clean. Convenient with a 1/2 mile walk to the White House and Smithsonian museums. Facility was a little outdated but not ao much as to detract feom the stay. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful.

I checked In and they gave me a different room than I had originally booked. Front desk claimed they were fully reserved for the king size beds. Property manager Russel fixed it promptly and the rest of the stay was smooth. Kyle bartender was amazing. I gave a lower score for cleanliness because original room had crumbs on the floor and the second room they moved me to in correction had a few sparse hairs in the bathroom tub and walls. Just a slight adjustment in attention to detail from housekeeping for feedback. I would definitely stay again.

From the doorman/bellhop to the morning breakfast everything was a breeze. I like the old world feel of the hotel. Perfect location. 10/10 would recommend! The rooms are quite large, the bathroom was sizable was well.

Like the close proximity to dining options, convenient/pharmacy, metro rail and bus lines. The hotel has some old charm to it. The maid service was superb. However, request to have a light check didn't materialized, for whatever reasons. Front desk was not professional as had called to request maintenance, and was talking to the staff but was asked to wait as he went to help whoever was at the desk. The hot water in the bathroom sink was slow and the water pressure was less than adequate. Finally, there was no fan in the bathroom and the bathtub was clogged. Other than these, the hotel was fine.

This hotel was pure comfort! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud—soft, plush, and perfect for a restful night. The shower was equally incredible, with great water pressure and a spa-like feel. Immaculately clean, great service, and a fantastic experience overall. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Affordable accommodations in a great location. Excellent service. Even if you arrive a little early before check-in time on the day of your reservation, they will get you a room if it is ready.

Wonderful place to stay when visiting DC. Able to walk to the museums and close to a metro stop. An upgraded room was a special bonus! Nice doormen were so helpful with directions.

This hotel has a lot of character and charm. It’s cosy and comfortable and clean. The beds had been rated as very comfortable and they are…probably just not soft enough for me as I age. I would recommend this hotel because it’s more European in feel and decor…something I miss now I don’t live in Europe. We had a room facing the courtyard.

Overall, it wasn't the most ideal hotel, but it wasn't the worst. Location-wise it's directly in between the nearest two Metro stops so there's always a couple block walk. It is on a bus line though, which is nice. It's an older hotel so you get what you get with that. Having the refrigerator and coffee maker right next to the toilet is a weird detail for sure. Unless you are facing the front, don't expect much of a view beside staring at an office window 10 feet away, because the building is squeezed in between other buildings. The staff was generally helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was the star of the show.

Rooms were clean with plenty of room to stretch out. The time has come to update the televisions as well viewing options ie, digital or satellite in the rooms for those times when guest are taking a break and or are in for the evening.

Great deal for a 4 star hotel . It was centrally located and staff were nice and room was very clean .

Loved the hotel. People need to be aware that the elevators are small in case they might be claustrophobic. one elevator holds 6-8 people and the other elevator will hold 4 but not comfortably. I'm not claustrophobic but felt like I was in a small box.
