Front desk associate was just awesome. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable. We’ll stay again.

Great location - we walked almost everywhere! The room had everything we needed - we loved the separate living area. Staff was so genuinely friendly and helpful. Everyone went above and beyond to be welcoming and accommodating to our pets. We had a fantastic experience!
- 3/5
The best feature of this hotel was the fact that it was dog-friendly, which is what I cared most about. Overall the stay was fine, the room was comfortable, and everything worked in the room. However there was no continental breakfast as advertised - just "grab and go" sad pastries and a couple of apples and oranges in a bowl. Grab and go is not the same as a continental breakfast

No mention of extremely expensive parking fees. Ended up paying almost $150 more than the original booking led me to believe because of all the hidden expenses.
- 4/5
The room was nice enough. The shower head was an older style one with the head on a hose. Ok except the shower head spray wasn' very comfortable. Otherwise fine.
- 4/5
The first staff person I encountered was VERY helpful and friendly when we checked in. The room was spacious and comfortable for our family. The breakfast was lacking. Not enough selection and very picked over even at 8am when I first went down to pick our items. The second day there was only one pastry and 2 yogurts to choose from for our family of six.

everything was great except eating offerings no restaurant very limited breakfast but breakfast food was next door.

Our favorite dog-friendly hotel when we're in DC. Walking distance to so much!
- 5/5
Friendly, well-informed staff. Great location 10 min walk from Union Station.

Not fancy at all and few amenities, but room was clean, bed was comfy and the location is great. I'll be staying here next time!!

Location: Excellent. Steps from multiple metro lines—getting around the city was effortless. Cleanliness: Immaculate. Room and lobby were spotless. Price: Outstanding value for the quality offered. Bonus: Complimentary bicycles made touring the National Mall and museums incredibly convenient. Verdict: A rare find combining location, cleanliness, affordability, and thoughtful amenities. Highly recommended. While the complimentary wine was a lovely gesture, the selection could be elevated to better match the hotel's overall standard. Additionally, the bicycles could use some more love; on my last day, the gear shift wouldn't shift above fourth gear. A quick service check on the bikes and a slight upgrade to the wine offerings would make these amenities truly shine.

Great location. Great property.

Having no restaurant is really inconvenient. Had to order DoorDash two nights… they don’t have breakfast other than packaged muffins etc. I thought it was going to be more like the Monaco and that was my unrealistic expectation. The only cute things they have are what you see in the photos. I got a room that looked over a ac unit and alley so even that was not impressive. To me this is a slightly elevated Holiday Inn. I did love that I could bring my dog for free but I see they are taking that away soon (aug 2026) so please keep that in mind. So, I’d not return for those reasons. It is a good location for visiting DC and beautiful view of the Capital (I live close by so these things aren’t as important to me) but it was close to museums (2 miles or so)
- 3/5
Hotel seems run down. Shower in our room was literally 2' x 2'. There are much better choices in DC
- 5/5
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Close to everything and right across the street from the train station
- 5/5
The room was clean and so comfortable.
- 5/5
We had another great stay! What an awesome location! Thank you for a clean, cozy, friendly hotel with flair!
- 5/5
Very clean and family friendly. Also very conveniently located to national mall. Would stay there again. Small hotel, I would choose this hotel only if you need a place to sleep and freshen up
- 3/5
Nice and pretty convenient. Anyone can walk into the hotel or elevator , no key access needed. Could use upgrades. No smart TV, only a few channels- not even the full guide available. Bathroom door slides and there is no full closure so no privacy. Bathroom door also very heavy to slide so may be difficult for elderly or those not in optimal health and kids. No restaurant or anything on site. No microwave. The draw is location I guess. Pretty good staff, they were helpful and kind. Wouldn’t stay again due to lack of modern comforts but wouldn’t not recommend it for those needing a place to stay in DC. Just have an open mind about what you want and are looking for. This isn’t a luxurious place but the beds were good and pillows were soft. No issues. We enjoyed the courtesy umbrellas very much. Huge plus.

Hi, I have mixed feelings about my stay. All but one of the staff were friendly and courteous. Some rooms literally look at a brick wall or really close to an office building with lots of windows that can look into your room. The restaurant is closed due to construction which I was not aware of before booking the room. Cold muffins, coffee cakes and coffee/tea offered in lobby as the free breakfast. No room service available since restaurant is closed.. .....Location great depending on what you are doing, 5 minute walk from Union Station, about 10 minute walk to the Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court.Close to the mall and some of the museums. Walk from the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial about an hour. Room good size with good size tv. Bed not the most comfortable, a little hard but that all depends on personal preference. Might give it a second chance but not sure.

This room sucked! I researched and reviewed the pictures posted by the company, along with pictures posted online and I was definitely “room-fished”. I specifically picked this hotel for the bath and shower option. Upon check in, the bathroom looked NOTHING like the pictures!! The staff was great, prompt, and attentive to needs, but some things just could not be fixed regardless of their assistance. The TV remote didn’t work and there were only three channels. Even after having them replace the remote, I could not access other channels. The location is good as it is close to restaurants, walkable attractions and minutes from the airport. The water pressure for the shower was terrible and there weren’t any outstanding amenities.

It was a nice room, comfortable bed. And clean

Friendly staff, convenient to monuments, parking. Nice furnishings.

Room was clean and staff was great from checking in to checking out. 1st time visiting Washington DC and I would stay here again.

My partner and I loved our stay! The hotel was located a few minutes from Union Station, which was super convenient for our travel. The room was clean and comfortable. Most importantly, member of the staff was kind and accommodating to our needs.
- 3/5
We stayed for a week. The staff is amazing and very friendly. There’s no ac in the rooms, only a heater. Thankfully it was cold outside. The windows don’t stay open so we had to brace it with a soap dish. For a “premium” room it was very tight. Again thankfully we didn’t spend too much time in the room. The Capital building is within walking distance as is Union station. Inside union station there are some shops and food options. We also went to a few Smithsonian museums, the Washington and Abe Lincoln monuments. We visited Arlington and the tomb of the unknown soldier. The restaurant attached to the hotel is under construction, and no where in any information did it give guests a heads up. The “breakfast” was a choice between single packaged muffins, banana bread slice, lemon bread slice, or yogurt. There’s a $450 “incident” fee they don’t tell anyone about either, so be prepared. They do refund it after you check out, but if you weren’t planning on a steep fee it can take you by surprise. As soon as you stepped off the elevator on the fourth floor it instantly smelled like cannabis. For a no smoking hotel, there sure was a very strong odor present, and it wasn’t just a day or two, it was the whole week. If you’re not use to seeing homeless everywhere, might want to consider getting use to it. One sleeps under the overhang for the hotel’s restaurant and on a few occasions was sleeping in between the hotel doors. The Founding Farmers and the Dubliner are a must do.
- 1/5
This place is a dump! The pictures are deceiving. The heating system sounds like a freight train and hallways smell. You can stay at the Westin for a better experience. Also I accidentally left my credit cards home . I put the incidentals on my debit card. I was told the hold would be lifted in ten business days . I’ll keep highlighting this hotel’s false advertisement .
- 2/5
There also seemed to be on ongoing issue with the HVAC. Lack of ventilation, there seemed to be a draft coming through the windows and it was just loud. It was so bad, I had to be moved to another room. Even after moving but, it contunied to be a problem. I wasnt going to write a review, but after returing home and getting sick, I believe the HVAC is a matter that needs to be addressed immediately.

nice big room, spotless, quiet, excellent location
- 5/5
Daily room service and very accommodating staff. Loved it.
- 5/5
The room was clean. The bathroom door was a little difficult to handle and it didn’t close all of the way. No restaurant was a little disappointing. The hotel around the corner was recommended for an early breakfast and it was satisfactory.
- 4/5
The hotel is OK, not much more.
- 3/5
Property was nice but the “continental breakfast” offered was pathetic (consisted of only apples, microwaveable jimmy dean sausage sandwiches, packaged muffins and cranberry juice- the worst juice flavor in my opinion lol). Also ran into an issue with parking- property website indicated valet was available but did not specify that there was a height restriction so we were unable to use the valet parking garage and had to park in a garage 5 blocks away. Property was convenient to the capital and looks updated at first glance but there were multiple execution issues that appear dated- wires everywhere in the room, loose outlets (had to use a shoe to prop my phone charger to keep it in the outlet), rippling carpet, etc.
- 4/5
Fitness center options were minimal. When the restaurant and bar reopen it will be a positive.
- 3/5
So close to being a nice boutique” hotel , but just missing the details to pull it off .

Room was nice and tidy. Lots of space. Beds were comfortable. Staff was super friendly

Very convenient location and friendly staff.

Flight was canceled, had to book a room at the last minute. Based my hotel search on: near train station, with a restaurant. I arrived famished after a long day of travel issues, only to find out the restaurant and kitchen were closed for renovation.

The customer care was above and beyond. The aesthetic of the room was super enjoyable! Would stay here again!

Nice property and great location
- 4/5
Nice accommodations!
- 4/5
Clean room but regulating temperature was somewhat challenging. Homeless person had set up outside the hotel. Restaurant closed.
- 5/5
Loved the facility and staff. The restaurant is under construction and we did not know before arrival. Other than that, everything was GREAT!
- 4/5
It was a comfortable stay. The bed was made and bathrooms cleaned everyday. The staff was always available. The negative aspect is that they don’t have a removable shower head, and breakfast was not available as the restaurant was closed due to renovation. Despite having take away breakfast, they often ran out. This included snacks.

Very nice people, no restaurant, morning coffee was horrible

Charming small boutique hotel. Nice amenities.
- 5/5
I loved the proximity this hotel was in when it came to the places we wanted to visit. Walking distance of union station. I will definitely visit again.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay. Area around is safe, adjacent to train station. Very easy to get picked up by an uber. It didn’t bother us, but I know some would be, the restrooms in the rooms are sliding doors that have gaps on the side. Other than that wonderful staff overall.
- 5/5
The staff and hotel were great, we parked directly across the street in the parking garage which was very convenient and reasonably priced.
- 5/5
I really liked the room-- the bed and pillows were scrumptious. There was a sign in the bathroom letting me know that if I had forgotten anything from toothpaste to chargers the hotel would be happy to provide it. There was a recycle container in the room for water bottles, etc. The only disappointing thing was that their on site restaurant was closed due to its recent sale.
- 5/5
service from start to end was excellent. They also offered more ‘if you forgot’ items than anywhere I’ve seen which was a bonus. The bed was super comfy and the decor was clever and looked nice.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable hotel in the heart of DC. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Great location!! Clean and comfortable!!
- 5/5
Great friendly customer service. Rooms were comfortable and toilet luxurious.
- 4/5
The location and the room size was fabulous. My only complaint was that there isn’t a restaurant on site like I expected. But the nightly wine hour and small breakfast was nice.
- 5/5
Overall, I say this is a great place to stay if you just travel over to DC by train and don’t plan to stay in the city for a long time.
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
This hotel was lovely and a great place to stay in the hustle and bustle of DC. Close to Union. Staff was great and very helpful. Felt good here.
- 2/5
I canceled a Marriott reservation for your hotel. Most disappointed upon check in to learn that breakfast was going to be continental. I specifically booked based on breakfast included (and paid). It was an even further disappointment when I was treated in the morning with hot coffee, hot water, an apple, an orange and choice of 500 calorie packaged chocolate cake or lemon cake. This experience completely spoiled my stay with you.
- 3/5
This hotel was overpriced for the very average room.
- 4/5
Love the super friendly staff. They really could not be nicer and more helpful. The hotel offers many thoughtful amenities, like complementary bike use, fresh water in the lobby and other perks. It is close to the Capitol. Room was very spacious. The decor was worn and the hallways could use some vacuuming.
- 3/5
This property feels tired - not nearly as nice as some of the other Kimpton properties

- 5/5
Came into DC for a Festival. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. We were able to check in early and sort out all our stuff before the event. Valet was also so nice and grab our stuff out in the pouring rain from our car. Will definitely be staying at this hotel if I’m ever back in DC!
- 5/5
Asked for a 4am wake-up call. Never got it. Missed my train back to NYC which cost me $250.00. Would love to know how I can be reimbursed for that.
- 5/5
Loved the decor & the complimentary extras like a continental breakfast, wine at 5p, and a daily free snack. All employees were so sweet and happy to help. Would definitely stay again & recommend for families.
- 5/5
Front lobby Staff including housekeeping Staff are friendly and show to enjoy working with people. Hotel is only 2 traffic lights away, 2 minute walking distance from Union Station for trains and Hop On bus tours. Continental breakfast is good. I only suggest vending machines for a quick snack/refreshment on each floor hotel. Thank you.
- 5/5
Really liked the location. It was easy to walk to Union Station. May lovely walks to the steps of the capitol. Super staff!
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay at the George. Surprises included a wine tasting upon arrival along with light breakfasts in the lobby. A great location for subway and train travel.
- 5/5
We got in pretty late and the staff was verry friendly and helpful, we were so worried about parking because it was so late but Emery parked our car and put it to charge. Amazing!
- 5/5
Very convenient close to Union Station
- 5/5
Great location! Clean and charming!
- 4/5
Hotel was on par with expectations of a Kimpton property. Clean rooms, comfy beds and good service. Location was fantastic- short walk to Union Station. My only gripe was there were a few rowdy homeless people around hotel heckling patrons and one sleeping in between the front doors. I wish hotel could have done something- but may be out of their control.
- 5/5
Awesome place, located in a prime location!
- 5/5
Love this hotel

John at the front desk was very helpful when I called him before I arrive at the George . Front desk staff is outstanding. Will return when I come again!

Great location. Beautiful hotel. Helpful staff.
- 4/5
Very close to the Capital Mall and museums. Old, but updated.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, and the hotel staff was friendly. The location was amazing. Short walk to the capital and to all the main attractions. They only have valet parking, which was pricey, but was nice that you could walk to almost everything. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Staff is awesome. Any questions or needs were met quickly and professionally
- 1/5
To say this is a 4 star hotel.. far from it. A glorified motel to say the least. Out of the entire stay, the only good thing.. was the check in staff (I wish I got their names). We checked in, the pull out bed was broken. It took almost 2hrs to get it figured out - which maybe wouldn't have been an issue.. if it wasn't almost almost midnight by the time they finally figured a "solution". What was said solution..? A roll away bed that couldn't fit two. The next morning.. toilet leaking. The GM was a total jerk the entire time talking to him. For someone in customer service - you really need to reevaluate/retrain who you have as staff.

Hotel was ok but defon

It would be nice if the restaurant was open.

Love how close this hotel close to Capitol building. It is also very quiet.
- 5/5
Walkable to the Capitol and the Metro
- 5/5
Great area
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and anything we needed they were quick to provide. We especially were grateful that they supplied us with bikes to use around the city, that they provided us with as many extra towels, blankets that we needed, and kept our room very clean.
- 5/5
Lovely stay and nice staff.
- 4/5
Ideal proximity to Union Station and within walking distance of attractions we wanted to tour.
- 5/5
I loved how easy it waa to get around very walkable, friendly staff my boyfriend and i really enjoyed our stay
- 2/5
Light bulbs were burned out; I ended up replacing them myself. The $12.99 WiFi advertised on Expedia was a lie. Instead we were charged $32.99 a day for reasons that are still not clear. Management said they would remove three of those charges for our troubles but never did. I finally submitted a charge-back to my visa. Overall, this was not the experience I expected from an IHG property.
- 4/5
It's a very solid hotel for the price point. Nothing flashy but they keep it up well. They even recommended cheaper parking options than their in house valet. Breakfast place around the corner compliments the continental breakfast. Short walk to US Capitol and Union Station but a long walk to other monuments. We utilized Big Bus tours that stopped at Union Station.
- 5/5
Wonderful proximity to sites and dining options. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We will absolutely stay here again on our next trip!
- 3/5
Restaurant and bar were under renovation. Hotel.com didn't mention that when we made the reservation
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 5/5
Everyone was great!
- 5/5
Nice spot, well-located
- 3/5
Rooms too tight, worn out. No coffee, food or breakfast. Paid for valet but car was not put away at night. Room not ready by 3pm, no room to sit and lounge for conversation with others. Heater at night had parts rattling and couldn’t sleep.
- 5/5
Great location near Union Station. Room was comfortable and near many attractions. Ride share credit was a great amenity offered as it was rainy for much of our trip.
- 5/5
Was a great stay!
- 5/5
Extremely clean! Can’t wait to stay here again on my next visit to DC.
- 4/5
We stayed on Valentine’s Day and surprisingly parking was easy . Room was clean . We were provided complimentary champagne for our evening with a welcome note. Very romantic. My only and I mean only flaw would be our king bed room was kind of small . I expected a little more space however the room was nice but overall good experience.
- 5/5
The stay was very comfortable and very close to Union Station. It was close to the venue I was attending. The yoga mat on the room was a great plus. My only not so great feedback was the room not being cleaned until after 3pm.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Ephrem was amazing
