the upgrade to the penthouse suite was both unexpected and very appreciated! it's such a lovely hotel, great location, great food at the Dubliner. Unfortunately for me, i was only there for one night- wish it was a longer stay.

Fantastic in every way. The location could not have been better for exploring the city, the staff was incredibly helpful and the amenities were above-and-beyond. Clean comfortable rooms (with robes!), evening walks around the capital, and great food downstairs and within walking distance. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great location to museums, union station, national archives, etc. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing, great food! Loved the free coffee bar on the 2nd floor! No microwave in the rooms, but not a huge deal.

The Phoenix Park Hotel was a convenient spot to stay for our visit. The benefits of the hotel included the 24/7 coffee bar, the Dubliner, and the Union Station Metro nearby. Unfortunately, other than those perks, we were quite underwhelmed with our stay. The floor of our room was littered with trash from the previous guest and there was little to no cold water from the sink or shower. Not worth the price!

Hotel is in a great location, if visiting DC to tour the national mall/museums/union station, but there is ALOT of traffic and constant siren sounds from police, ambulance, fire trucks, no black out curtains, so not a great choice if your are looking to sleep well. We were up early and out til late so worked out for us.

Location is perfect from Union Station. Handy for both Metro and Amtrak. Staff at hotel superb, from pub, restaurant and check-in. This was my 2nd stay here, and I'd book it again when I return!

This is a very old hotel that appears to have been updated and modernized. They charge a $32 “amenity fee” but it’s not clear what the amenities are. Maybe a gym? They didn’t even have an ice maker in every floor.

The front desk staff are so welcoming. Readily gave us the room even before the check in time. The room given had an impressive view of the Capitol. None.

Elegant, thoughtfully appointed room, perfectly located to walk to the Capitol and Mall. Loved the coffee station in the "Living Room" on the 2nd floor. It offered all types of coffee and hot chocolate, and many kinds of tea. Even sweeteners were varied. And check out is NOON!

The property is very well located, but the lack of maintenance and staff training is noticeable. One thing that stands out is the lack of friendliness of the staff, including the people who work at the bar. I won't be back.

I like the rooms. Very nice n clean. Comfy bed. Location was awesome n super near to the union station. No coffee maker inside room. I requested for connecting rooms but didn't get it when I reached there.

Walking distance to all the sights, Capitol building is just a couple of minutes walk and Union station is right beside the hotel.

There is a 24/7 coffee and tea station, although the coffee is unfortunately quite poor. Sadly, despite being housed in a historic building and carrying the "Historic Hotels of America" designation, the hotel lacks charm, character, and a distinct sense of identity.

Located right next to Union Station so getting around was quite convenient. The on-site restaurant is outstanding and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very clean and the staff were very kind and helpful. A bit picky, but the pillows were somewhat awkward. I'm sure if asked, they would have replaced them. The staff is great! The walls are a bit thin, so if you have loud talkers next door, you will hear them in your room.

This hotel is old-school delightful. Service and comfort, quality and excellence throughout produce standards seldom seen these days. The staff here just cannot seem to do enough for the guests. The consistency deserves kudos, which is why the Phoenix Park Hotel is our home when in Washington, D.C.. The Dubliner Pub is just wonderful. Oh, and the vouchers for two complimentary drinks were much appreciated after a long day of travel. Nearly everything we ordered in the Pub was perfect. The one little thing (breakfast eggs not cooked as ordered) that was not perfect was soon addressed and made perfect. After which the management refused to let us pay for our breakfast. This, after having been upgraded to a lovely bi-level suite upon check-in, and then allowed a later checkout with no surcharge, due to a late departing train. Within view of Union Station, the hotel is an easy walk of about 800 ft, according to our GPS, perfect for train travelers. The Phoenix Park is very popular, and depending on what's going on in the city, prices can fluctuate wildly, but we think that it is a very good value. Beds are comfortable, bath amenities plentiful, lots of channels to choose from on the good-sized flat screen TV. We had a Keurig coffeemaker, refrigerator and microwave in our suite. I think only suites have coffeemakers and microwaves though. However, there is a coffee lounge on floor 2 which is very homey and enjoyable, open 24/7. We have already booked our next stay for September.

The staff were great. Wifi worked well. The walk to Union Station is short, so it's an easy connection to most places. The room was rather small and the hotel has a food smell that permeates the floors because of the Dubliner restaurant.

for a hotel room in DC near Nationals Park, this is a good deal. very nice staff, all around. clean rooms. easy check in and check out. the valet for $68 is reasonable for the area. lots of walkability, fast access to the Metro. it is a hotel in dc, so it's expensive. also, they do not have a vegan milk option for the coffee in the lobby.

Great stay in a cool historic hotel with a fantastic DC location! Our room was small but nicely decorated with modern amenities and clean. The staff is very pleasant. A well-known Irish pub with nightly live music is off the lobby.

The uniqueness of this hotel is that it is located right next to the central train station, very close to all public transportation in the area. The hotel is also very close to Capitol Hill, allowing for a pleasant and relaxing trip to the Washington DC.

The staff were friendly from check-in and the room was clean when I arrived. One thing I really appreciated was how accommodating they were with the number of packages I had delivered to the hotel during my stay. That made things much easier for me. The room itself was simple but comfortable. The bed was probably the highlight for me since it was very comfortable after long work days. The hotel was also in a great location, very close to the metro which made getting around the city easy. There were also plenty of food options nearby, the area felt safe, and it was nice being so close to the Capitol building. A small thing I ended up enjoying more than expected was the free hot chocolate they offered. Overall, I had a good experience here. It may not be the most luxurious hotel, but it was clean, comfortable, and in a very convenient location with friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again for another work trip.

The Dubliner bar in the lobby - and its location a block from the train station makes this my go-to spot in DC. A welcoming staff; a clean hotel; a great price. It’s an easy booking!

The location is great since it is near the Washington Union Station. When we arrived we were greeted by staff. We were able to check in early which is a great plus. The person in the front desk was courteous and was able to checkin us early in the day which we needed because we were able to explore DC without our backpacks and luggage. Our room is clean and good in size. They have complimentary bottled water everyday in our room and 24hrs coffee/latte/tea in their 2nd floor. Overall we had a great experience. We will definitely book in Phoenix hotel in the future and recommend it to family and friends

Hotel provided ear plugs for a reason. Got a refund for the second night. Parked at Union Station.

Very helpful staff. We couldn't print a pass we had bought, and te front desk took the time to help ussort it out--all with a nice smile. We asked the cleaning person (Rachel????) for some extra supplies. She remembered and filled our request when she cleaned our room. Nice place to stay.

Breakfast not included. First floor has an Irish pub, which like most Irish pubs, was VERY noisy. We were on the 8th floor and yelling still woke us so get a room on a different side of the hotel, Other than that, nice stay.

My wife and I found our room to be very comfortable and quiet. We arrived at Union Station from Boston via the Acella. It was an easy five minute walk to The Phoenix. The Capital was an easy 20 minute walk. The hotel’s Dubliner restaurant was far too noisy for us. The food was OK. The Corner Cafe was just a couple of hundred feet down the road and the breakfast food was very good. We would not hesitate to stay at The Phoenix again.

Excellent hotel in a fantastic location. And the attached Dubliner Irish Pub is my favorite pub this side of the Atlantic.

Room was very small, closet only had room to hand a coat and a shirt with an ironing board that took up much of the space. Only found out there was complimentary coffee on the day I left. This is the third or fourth time we've stayed at the Phoenix Park hotel. It is very convenient, just across from Union Station and close to the museums on the mall. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

Went down to the bar for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. Bartender was very friendly and the food was great! The hotel worked out great for our short weekend trip to DC.

The location is perfect, a block from Union Station, and the surrounding streets are clean and safe. Union Station, the main hub for the District's intercity train and bus lines, is also a stop on the DC Metro's Red Line. In addition, several city bus lines stop right near the hotel, so the access to public transportation overall is excellent. The sunny second floor lounge, which offers free coffee, a comfortable seating area, and the use of a microwave oven is a lovely amenity. I had two complaints about the hotel this time around, but I'm sure these can and will be fixed. First, my shower was very slippery! Fortunately, the hotel provides a rubber mat, but I found it (after almost falling) tucked on a bottom shelf where it can be easily missed. Lacking properly treaded floor tiles, there should be signage encouraging patrons to find and use the shower mat. My shower was a lawsuit waiting to happen. The second was the speed of the Wi-Fi -- sooo slow. Please do better. The Dubliner downstairs still serves great drinks and delicious pub food. The noise level is hellish but happily there is indoor-outdoor and outdoor seating to get away from it when the weather is nice. All in all, will I go back? Absolutely!

The hotel has a great atmosphere and staff were lovely. They have a in house pub which was great if you like to have a social life without going far. Just don’t serve the Guinness cold please! LOL As long as the pink tie party is at the union station, i will continue to book here. Highly recommend

Despite good reviews service, accommodation and staff were subpar. Paid almost $300 a night through Expedia but when there founds rooms for less than$200 a night.

we found a cockroach running on the floor coming out of the noisy air conditioning vent where the filter was not placed in the correct place. In general for the money we paid we were not pleased.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are small for the price, with no working space aside from a tiny serving table and chair. Reminds me of NYC accommodations. This used to be one of the nicest hotels in DC, but it’s showing its age and you can see where they’ve updated, but it could use some more TLC to bring it back to its former glory. One of the best features is The Dubliner restaurant and bar are attached, and the 24-hr coffee service on the 2nd floor is very nice. Plus, it’s an easy walk to the Capitol and congressional office buildings.

The gym was great, didn’t love the smaller elevator door down at the basement - made it a bit harder for me to bring my baby stroller, but I made it work. The location was great, the room was good, welcome package was a nice touch - overall good stay!

“Powerscourt Living Room” was a joke and not worth the “resort fee.” Essentially this was a foyer area, not a guest lounge.

This hotel is perfect! Location couldn’t be better near all the sights and union station. Room was lovely and clean. Staff was immediately attentive to a small issue with our room. And the Dubliner is the unexpected icing on the cake. Loved it. Will recommend to all going to DC!

Also,a towel bar on the shower door was loose and we needed to have a maintenance person repair it.

The location was great! Rooms were clean however, we had a room that faced the street and you could hear every siren, car horn, loud conversation that was happening outside throughout all hours of the day/night.The restaurant connected to the hotel was charming but you can smell the fish and chips from the lobby. We opted not to go for breakfast out of fear of smelling like a pub the rest of the day.

Our room was cleaned daily but at 8:30am which we were still in our room. The lobby smelled like seafood most of the day because of the restaurant. The hotel was in a good location. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Excellent place to stay. Close to Union Station (Metro & Amtrak) but yet close enough to most of the DC monuments and federal buildings. Very clean and Nextdoor to a yummy Irish pub and restaurant. Their coffee machines serve delicious varieties of coffees.

Shower didn’t work. Addressed it on first day. Never repaired. Your website listed the room as a room with a view. The only view was a brick wall. I want some reimbursement for paying for a premium room with a view and a shower that barely sprayed water.

The location and the staff were exceptional. There were 2 issues that preventing me from rating all criteria “excellent”. The first that the bathroom only had 2 hooks on the back of the bathroom door. These hooks were in use by the hotel supplied bathrobe and hanging hair dryer. There was nowhere to hang a hand towel or any other towels once used. The second item was the noise at night. We stayed for 3 nights in room 310. The first two nights noise was not an issue. The third night, which was a Saturday night, the sound of voices and laughter was very loud from below. I think it was from the Dubliner bar. I would’ve have asked for a room change, but since it was our last night with an early morning flight, I didn’t bother.s.

A real treat for us was the second floor sitting area where guests can get a nice coffee or tea 24/7. We enjoyed eating breakfast there before going out for the day. Overall--the Phoenix Park is my first choice next time i`m in DC.

Front desk staff was very accommodating and super friendly - we arrived early and she checked us in then gave a call when our room was ready. Departing - we had a 6pm train and they kept our bags while we visited the zoo and other museums. Great not having to worry about our bags during the day. Highly recommend!

My wife and I took our 10 year old grandson to Washington for his birthday. We stayed at the Phoenix and it was really the best hotel experience we have enjoyed in years. Every person who works there was wonderfully helpful and friendly. Location is perfect, Restaurant was great. I usually don’t send comments , but I have to tell everyone who is going to Washington to try the phoenix, we will always go back.

Overall a nice hotel to stay in.. carpets, baseboards lamp shade could use a little extra dusting..the mattress and pillows were soft..which is cool if you perfer that sort of thing..the coffee and expresso area is nice..ice and vending located in multiple locations throughout the hotel. Staff is friendly.

The room was impeccably clean, well appointed, temperature controlled with in-room thermostat, plenty of closet space, and two baths! I really appreciated having my own space and a bath for guests to use separately. The only challenge with the room is accessiung the closet was on the second floor up a spiral staircase. My luggage was pretty heavy and getting it up was challenging. I'm sure someone would have helped had I asked. I would have appreciated dimmers on the lights. It was either really bright or really dark, but these are subtlties. I appreciaterd my VIP upgrade and the service at Phoenix Park is what keeps me coming back. I always feel welcomed like a personal friend.

The rooms were immaculate! I didn’t come across a member of the staff that wasn’t extra friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the 24 hour hot beverage service on the 2nd floor and dinner at the onsite restaurant was delicious. The 2 free drinks per night were an extra sweet added bonus. The convenience of walking the Amtrak station, which is located directly across the street makes this a perfect location and it will be my go to hotel for all of my Washington DC visits.

Very nice property but the thermostat in the room did not function up to par, I could not bring temperature in the room high to 70F, it was cold and little uncomfortable at New Year night, it was 19F outside. It was cold, otherwise I liked it.

This was a great option for my family. 2 minute walk to the train station, 10 minutes walk to the mall. The staff was excellent, parking around the corner at a very reasonable price. Room was small, but fit two queen beds so that was a big plus. Having access to a fancy coffee machine in the lobby was a nice perk, hot chocolate for the kids, cappuccinos for the adults (or Lattes or whatever you want). Will stay here again.

Third time staying here. It’s very clean and tidy. Very convenient to Union Station. Great coffee machine available on the second floor. One thing that does bother me a bit is that the blinds over the windows do not fully block out the light from outside, so if you need a fully dark room to sleep, this is not good for you. Also it can get a bit noisy with sirens from emergency services.

The staff at the Phoenix Park Hotel were wonderful. The room was a bit small, but very clean and comfortable, for a good rate. The restaurant had a limited menu, but the waitstaff there were excellent. The area around the hotel is very dirty, busy and loud, but that's what you get in a city. It was great to be so close to Union Station for transportation. Will be staying here again!

The darkening shades do not keep all the light out around the edges, which is an issue if you like a really dark room. There are no curtains to block this light. The bathroom was clean and well-supplied. It would have been better if there was an exhaust fan. Finally, it would be more honest and direct if the $30 "facilities fee" was included in the advertised room rate, rather than tucked away in the fine print. The only extra "facility" is the fitness room, which is standard at most hotels, so I don't see why this extra fee is even necessary.

I've stayed at the park Phoenix many times. It has a great location and I love having a Guinness at the Dubliner next door! However, this is the first time I've been back in a few years. The rooms are tired and the hotel now charges $32 dollars a day for "special services" which include two bottles of water in the room, a free beer at the bar, subpar coffee on the second floor, access to the gym, internet and a"business center" consisting of one non-working computer. I won't be back I feel duped.

Second stay. I will probably stay there again. It's a short walk to Union Station so it's close to the metro

The room was absolutely fine: very clean and well maintained. The bathroom was also clean and well maintained though the hooks and hanging places for towels was adequate though a bit limited. I had the tiniest room ever looking out at the utility area and into other rooms. I had to leave my suitcase on the bed because there was nowhere else to open it. The shower/tub had no safety holds, the walls were slick marble and the rubber mat was slippery .i won’t stay here again.

The hotel was nice and clean and the staff is lovely. The towels were way too stiff, like cardboard and there was no room service. I didn't notice that info before I booked. But all in all, it was a nice experience.

Service was excellent. They were accommodating and was able to check me in early. The room was huge and clean. It has 24/7 coffee/chocolate drinks but I wish they have snacks available as well. The best thing is it's so close to Union Station (5min walk). Will definitely book with them again.

The hotel can easily be walked from Union Station. There is an Irish pub and restaurant next door. Food is very good but breakfast is pricey. I tried multiple times to sit at the bar but actually had to go next door to Kelly’s to enjoy a Guinness. Always seemed like an organized meeting going on which took away from using the pub. Entry very basic. The 2nd floor has a coffee machines which can spit out different varieties. It ms added to your bill for $32 a day. For ab4 night stay we pain an extra $128 for just coffee. The thing I really like the best if the hotel is you could not hear your neighbors. Calitol just a block away and there is a Corner Street Bakery next door for Manchester breakfast sandwich.

Just a quick overnight after a late train ride in. Everything was clean and comfortable. Check-in only took a minute, which was great, because I just wanted to get my kids into bed. We left behind a stuffed animal and they had it waiting at the front desk when we called about it. Great hotel. Would stay again.

We stayed there for a nearby wedding. The staff was lovely and efficient. The mattress was very comfortable and the pillows on the bed were wonderful. I had a good night’s sleep and I can rarely say that about most hotels.

This was, I think, 32 per day. Close to museums, parks, and major site setting destinations. Inshore radiant with reasonable priced food, excellent service, and tasty food. Hotel even supplies a free drink coupon to use. The staff went out of their to accommodate us, Shaun and the day time manager were beyond friendly and empathetic. I really won't stay anywhere else when I'm in the area anymore. The Phoenix spoiled me.

The 2nd floor guest services are a good feature. I like the bottled water in the room. The Dubliner restaurant/pub is very convenient. I didn't like the very small bathroom and elevators. I do now understand that it's a historic building.

Nicely located near all major museums. Staff were great and very friendly. Daily housekeeping was excellent. The coffee on the 2nd floor was fantastic. The downsides were limited TV channels, tv guide showing no program information. Lack of a bathtub in the King Deluxe room was a negative. Noisy crowds on the sidewalks at 2 AM. Curtains/blinds did not block out the light at night. Bed and pillows were great and comfortable. No local area restaurants or delivery menus in the room.

Hotel was nice. Didn’t like the $32 per day charge for facility fee. There was nothing worth that price. The only thing I saw was a gym, which I didn’t use. There was nothing else worth that.

I have stayed in this hotel 5 or 6 times. It is very convenient, opposite Union Station, the bar is excellent, the rooms are very good, clean and comfortable. There is a fridge in the room, and although no coffee / tea making in the room there is an excellent facility on the 2nd floor. There is an extra daily charge but there are 2 free bottles of water in the room and a voucher for a free drink at the bar. Many DC & NY hotels have this extra daily charge. The Smithsonians are just a pleasant walk away.

Our room was clean and comfortable with lovely views from 8th floor. King bed. Was comfy. Dining at the Dubliner pub in the hotel was excellent. Staff was courteous and helpful. Location was convenient to Union station where we arrived and departed on Amtrak. Area is safe and walkable. We would stay here again. Pricing was a good value.

Only quibble was that the bathroom fan was extremely noisy.

The hotel is well-located just a block away from Union Station and about a 20 minute walk from The Capitol. It could be noisy in the evenings and mornings though with frequent police and ambulance sirens. The adjacent Dubliner Pub is convenient for breakfasts and dinners or a drink. Union Station has quite a few fast food choices.

We were given complimentary drinks. The room had a nice view.

King size bed was lumpy and sunken. The bedding was not ironed so unsure if it was clean! It was good that there was a coffee sitting area and each floor had an ice machine. I was annoyed that a $32/night facilities was declared on the day before I arrived. If I had known about this sooner I would have cancelled my booking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location is one block from Union Station. All types of ground transportation, including bus tours. It’s a nice walking distance to the Capitol as well. The staff were so friendly and helpful and we didn’t have any issues. The room was clean and updated. The in house restaurant was very good with great ambiance. The only negatives for us was the room did not have black out curtains and we like a dark room for sleeping. Also, being downtown you’re going to hear share rides and other blowing horns from time to time as well as emergency vehicles. The positives greatly out weighed the negatives. We would absolutely stay there again!

Every employee we interacted with was polite and friendly, and the room was clean and well maintained. The 24-hour coffee and tea station on the second floor was great, and the two bottles of water left in our room each day was helpful in the July heat. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in DC!

Booked this as it was an easy walk from Union Station. It wasn't until check in I realized how noisy it was going to be. Room was fine. Floor in the room was like vinyl / engineered flooring not carpet. It was sticky. Not a great feeling. As far as the noise we literally stayed in Times Square NYC the previous three nights and there was less noise.

The room itself was nice and simple. The bed was comfortable and had a nice assortment of pillows. The bathroom, although a little small (by U.S. standards) worked. There were several little touches that definitely made up for the lack of room. I had requested a quiet room away from the street. They were nice enough to put me on the 8th floor... but it was right next to the maid's quarters. That made for a built-in alarm by 8a each morning. The only think I'm not a fan of is the daily $32 'facility fee'. Even if booking through a third-party site like Hotels.com, this is an extra fee collected on-site, honestly making the Hotels.com 'all-in' pricing untrue. This isn't Vegas, Miami or Maui... it's not a resort, it's a historical building in D.C. Is it nice having a couple of fully automated coffee machines 24-hours a day? Sure, if you're a coffee drinker. But I'm not. Even the most devout Starbucks fanboy would have a hard time consuming $32 worth of free espressos a day. If you need to charge more for staff and k-cups, bake it into the daily room cost. There just weren't enough real perks (beyond those most decent hotels have like a business center, gym, etc.) to warrant such a random surcharge. Also note, the daily parking fee is $64. For those not using mass transit or rideshare.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Phoenix Park Hotel. It's very close to Union Station, just a 5 to 10-minute walk away. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were very friendly. The room was a bit small, but it looked clean and well-maintained. However, the streets outside were quite noisy; I could hear the sirens from police cars throughout the night. Additionally, the windows didn't have blackout blinds, which made the room quite bright in the morning. I wished I could sleep a little longer, but the brightness made it difficult. This might be a plus for someone who enjoys a room filled with natural sunlight.

Perfect location, phenomenal service, super comfortable, and super clean. They really know what they’re doing. Everything is so thought out. A great example, they have earplugs available in the bathroom because after all the streets of DC can get loud. An umbrella for those rainy days. And not to mention a super comfy robe for the in-between.

This place was beautifully decorated. The bed was ultra comfortable and the room was spacious.

It’s a lovely, small hotel with a friendly staff. The fact that it’s walking distance to Union Station as well as good restaurants and some DC tourist sites is it’s biggest asset.

If arriving by train, it's the best possible location, one block from Union Station, so no taxi or Uber required. You can see the US Capitol from the front door. It was a clean comfortable room, and the A/C worked fine. Coffee and tea offered 24 hrs. There is no pool. The restaurant's food is less than average, I'd avoid next time. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

That is so rare in this day and age. That alone makes me want to return.

The room was unbearably hot and humid with no way to control the AC. There were hairs all over the bathroom - not sure when it was last thoroughly cleaned. Loved the proximity to Union Station, but I won’t stay here again.

We were able to check in before noon, the front desk helped get public transportation. Front desk personnel were awesome

The staff were amazing and the amenities are great, including free drinks the first night at their attached restaurant, free tea/coffee/cocoa anytime, earplugs to keep the street life quite while you sleep, bottles of water everyday and more! The mattress is AMAZINGLY soft ♥️ The views from our corner King Suite (513) were beautiful (pictured below from our window) and the location is right across from the Post Office and Union Station (metro/shopping/dining). You can see the Capital building and is within walking. We actually walked back to our hotel from the White House! A Great Hotel, highly recommend staying!

The hotel is impeccably maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. I'm not sure the $32 resort fee I had to pay was worth it for the one free drink and I was disappointed there wasn't a recycling container in the room, but overall a really positive experience.

I picked the Phoenix Park Hotel because of its proximity to Union Station and the Capitol area. The price was unbeatable for that area, and the hotel felt like a find. The room was small, but we were really only in it to sleep and shower. The amenities were fantastic and having access to The Dubliners Pub without having to go outside into the blazing hot humidity was definitely a plus at the end of a long, sweaty day. We'll definitely look here first for our next DC trip!

A nice quiet stay. Located across the street from union station. I walked to a the monuments. Now with that being said I’m a walker, it is about a1.5 -2 mile walk to the National mall. A quick trip if not up to walking. A nice bar and restaurant attached

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was smallish, but cozy. The coffee machines on the 2nd floor make up for there not being coffee in the room. The Capitol and the National Mall a mere blocks away. The Dubliner is essentially part of the hotel, and there are several other restaurants within a half mile. And finally, parking at Union Station is two blocks away.

I was exhausted so I stayed the first night but it smelled so bad like seafood chowder, I could not stay another night. I let them know but they didn’t help out at all or offer a discount or anything. I was disappointed.

Staff were all very welcoming and helpful! The Dubliner Pub on the ground floor was amazing with live music every night! The Irish Stew, Potato Soup (best ever!), burgers and chicken tenders were delicious and the cost was reasonable with plenty food for leftovers for a doggy bag!! Oh, and definitely check out the Corner Bakery next door, we had breakfast and lunch there every day!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. It is located 2 blocks from Union Station and within walking distance of the National Mall. The staff provided excellent service. I would definitely stay again.

This was the second time this year that my wife and I have stayed at the Phoenix Park Hotel. We like it a lot and will return. It's in a very convenient location just across the street from Union Station and near the Mall. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I love this hotel! We used to live in the DC area and come back on occasion by train. This is conveniently located near Union Station and is well run, clean with very comfortable beds. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant is great!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Phoenix Park Hotel. It was wonderful so close and convenient to everything on Capitol Hill. The hotel had character and was a memorable experience.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. There was complimentary coffee stations and water bottle filling stations which was essential to our days. There werent a ton of good food options in the area and the restaurant in the hotel, while very popular, felt dirty and the food was mediocre. The location was perfect for our needs, across the street from Union Station and a few blocks from the capitol.

Very impressed with all the staff. Very customer service oriented, friendly and helpful. The room was small but very clean. I think for the price I expected a nicer room. We were there for one night so it was ok. If I planned on staying in DC longer for me I would look at other options. Have to say again everyone that works there are excellent!!!

I had a lovely stay here with my 10 yr old son. We stayed 3 nights and it was the best location for walking to all the historical sites and museums. The hotel is also 2 blocks from union station where we arrived and departed from. The staff was friendly and accommodating and our room was cozy and clean and the bed was super comfortable too. I felt safe in the area and it was quiet and peaceful - I am definitely staying here again.

Not quite a regular, when I'm in DC ether stay or visit the Dubliner bar. At the moment the £/dollar exchange rate is in our favour 😀 at £1 = dollar 1.32 😃

Besides the price to valet hotel was amazing! Ability to easily eat at Dubliner is also a huge plus.

I loved that it was SO CLOSE to Union train station where i was also able to board a tourist bus or i could walk or take a scooter to Capitol Hill to visit the monuments. I felt so safe even though undoubtedly there is homeless people around it didn't take away from my experience. There was a bakery a few doors down from the hotel which was great. I would choose this hotel again for the convenience and the amenities that were offered which were located on the second floor which was great and the staff were really nice also. Thank you for making my stay great.

This is the best value in DC. Enjoy the great live music with a pint at the classic Irish bar/restaurant downstairs. Subway station, train station, and many bus lines right across the street. Friendly staff, too.

We stay here often when we come to DC because it’s easy to park at Union Station and the metro is right there. Also close to the Capitol and walkable to the museums and to Eastern Market. Also convenient to have The Dubliner right downstairs. We appreciate the coffee and tea availability as well.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms very clean and comfortable, the restaurant can do a little better as far as keeping the bar area cleaned and wiped down. The area smelled like stale beer. We ordered fish and chips, and the food was not all that great. The fries and fish were soggy, and the fish was so salty that we couldn't eat it. We ended up wasting $30.

This is by far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was super friendly, the room was really clean, and the sheets even had some kind of almost lavender sent to them. Might’ve been one of the best night sleeps I’ve ever had!

Hotel ia older but well maintained and in a great location across from Union Station. It is a busier area so may hear a little street noise, but very nice spot if price is good.

Another Great stay at The Phoenix Park Hotel! Location perfect for walking to capitol and to explore the National Mall area. Hotel is clean and desk clerk welcomed us with a smile. Rooms are well appointed with toiletries such as shampoo, soaps, make up wipes etc. there’s also a safe in each room. The best part of all is The Dubliner Irish Pub downstairs connected to hotel…great Guinness and live Irish music nightly…food is tasty too.

I will definitely be staying here anytime I travel to DC again! As someone who suffers from lots of allergies, the fact that there was no carpet in my room was amazing. Updated recently, staff is super friendly, 24/7 coffee and tea bar, cozy workspaces, easy walking to lots of main sights and Union Station. I had a wonderful stay!

I stayed at the Phoenix for three nights and loved it. It was so nice to be in an old historic hotel that didn’t look like every chain hotel. The hotel has clearly been through renovations and my room was not large but cozy with with double hung windows . The bathroom is redone and the bed is super comfortable. I loved the housekeeper for the third floor , Aida, she was a gem. It was very convenient to be able to eat a good breakfast in the Irish restaurant the joins the lobby . I recommend the Phoenix Park and it is right across the street from Untiin train station. I always used electric scooters to get around the national mall and didn’t need a car. I will definitely stay here again and the price was reasonable!

I liked the all-day coffee availability. The room was very stylishly decorated, the bed comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the room was quiet at night. They had a room that could store our luggage since we did not leave until long after checkout. Very nice... will stay again.

The staff was friendly and check in/out was quick and easy. The annoying thing was repeatedly being woken up by room the cleaning staff starting at 7 am. Check out is at 11, and we were at a concert late the night before. They kept knocking multiple times for roughly 30 seconds at a time. We let them know we were sleeping and planning to be out by 10. They just came back every 30 minutes or so, and were SUPER loud cleaning the rooms around ours. Other than that, the hotel was nice and convenient. Just maybe not if you want to sleep past 7 am 😅

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff was excellent, great coffee and hot chocolate options in the second floor lounge. Easy to walk to the Capitol and Mall. Close to Union Station and so convenient for our 5:50 AM train departure. I couldn’t ask for more!

Hotel was nice and front desk staff pleasant. Outside can be a bit noisy, but earplugs are provided in the room. Complimentary drinks coupons for the Dubliner were nice.

I love this funky old hotel, just a suitcase-roll away from Union Station! It has so many charming touches, like an ornate mail slot on each floor, and windows that actually open. The staff are lovely and the simple gift of a Kind bar at check-in and free self-serve laundry are extra touches that ensure I'll be back. My only suggestion would be to replace the complimentary environmentally-horrible plastic water bottles with aluminum: that was only thing that made me go "ick" about my whole experience.

This hotel is one block away from Union Station and walkable distance from the National Gallery and the Smithsonian. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves a terrific breakfast.

Great older hotel very well maintained, great staff and location.

Extremely convenient for my Amtrak arrival and departure. They held my bag for a few hours so i could walk around before i had to leave. Right down the street from the Capitol building. I was very happy with my 1 night stay.
