Guests generally appreciate the modern and clean facilities, as well as the convenient location of the hotel. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful, although some guests have had negative experiences with reception. The hotel's unique features, such as the adjustable beds and LED mood lighting, are popular among guests. However, there are frequent complaints about the thin walls and lack of privacy, as well as issues with the check-in process and additional fees.

A mouse ran across the restaurant floor while we were eating. The front desk staff say they will do something and it never happens (our toilet was broken). Overall a hot mess.

Conveniently located, Yotel was the perfect spot to land for a quick overnight trip. Convenient to Union Station, the Capital and other destinations, the service was wonderful. I enjoyed the rooftop deck and pool Sunday morning when it was empty, followed by a delicious fresh breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

I had a very disappointing experience at YOTEL during my recent stay. From the moment we checked in, the service fell far below expectations. There was no water available on our floor the entire day of check-in, and despite the hotel being fully aware of the issue, they did not proactively provide guests with even basic drinking water. I called to request water, but it never arrived. To make matters worse, the room itself had issues—the bed was infested with ants, which is completely unacceptable. Customer service throughout the stay was extremely poor. When we requested a modest one-hour late checkout, we were asked to pay an additional $200 on the day of checkout. There was no effort to accommodate or acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the hotel’s own service failures. What makes this even more disappointing is that I chose YOTEL based on a positive experience during a conference stay last November, when I booked through my corporate travel. Unfortunately, this personal trip showed a completely different standard of service. It felt like the level of care depended on how the booking was made, which should never be the case. Given this experience, I will not be returning to YOTEL (personal or business travel). I will also be sharing this feedback with my corporate travel team. Overall, this was a very poor experience, and I would strongly reconsider before booking here.

The staff are wonderful and location is good. BUT beware the "changeable" reservations they offer. It means they will cancel and rebook a new reservation. But then you are likely to pay a higher room rate. I got stuck with 5 extra nights I had to pay for but didn't use. And there is a $35/day amenity charge for Internet (what?), coffee on every floor (it was not on every - just one and line every day) and a "extra $10 off restaurant" (which is your money anyway). Tiny rooms. Shrinkflation is the best word. Sheesh do the CEOs need more money??? Tiring.

I stayed two nights, it was cute. I wish they had regular lights in the main room besides the tiny lamps in addition to the mood lighting. It was just too dark at times when I needed more light. There did appear to be a regular lighting fixture when you walk in the room but I couldn’t find a switch for it, lol. Staff was 10/10. The rooftop pool and bar was a great. The food was great, Art & Soul did not disappoint me at all. Overall I would stay here again for a short weekend.

The room was clean and nicely designed, which made the stay very comfortable. The location was also great, with many attractions and sightseeing spots nearby. The soundproofing was not very good, and I could hear footsteps from the room above. On the second night, the green light from the smoke detector (?) kept flashing and disturbed my sleep. It had a roof top but it was closed the entire time due to rain earlier in the day. I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. I paid for a late checkout, yet between 10:50 AM and 12:30 PM, four different housekeepers repeatedly knocked on my door asking why I was still in the room. This made me feel uncomfortable, rushed, and completely disrespected as a paying guest who had already arranged and paid for additional time. To make matters worse, when I went to breakfast, which had already been prepaid through Booking.com, the wait staff treated me as if I was attempting to steal food and questioned whether I had actually paid. The experience was embarrassing and unprofessional.

The room was tiny however. The bed was actually a sofa bed ? To explain the size of the room - when the bed was fully extended, it blocked the room from wall to wall, we needed to turn the bed into a couch to get to the other side of the room. We did not like that the toilet room (toilet and shower were in separate spaces) did not have a true door with a lock. Basically there was door that did not touch the ceiling or the floor, so you can hear and smell exactly what the other person is doing in the bathroom. Not a good option if you’re not staying with someone you’re at that level with yet. Overall our stay was fine. Not a 4 star hotel. But an option if you want to be close to things and just need a place to sleep.

The rooftop pool was small for the number of people in that hotel. I also expected at least a couple of water bottles in the beginning. They had a water dispenser on each floor which is great, but a couple of water bottles and basic cutlery and plates would have been appreciated. Breakfast was NOT included with the reservations. That was something I wasn't happy with since they mentioned "breakfast available". I think they should EXPLICITLY mention that it's not included.

House keeping did great Job. Front desk always helpful. The Resort fee ($35 per day) charged was for pool and top deck that was locked until Memorial Day. $10 credit if you used overpriced bar or restaurant. So after two visits let them keep the resort fee. If you notice that up front other hotels are same price. It was a great location only two blocks from Union Station. Minutes from Capital. Upon check-in, we utilize two separate cards 14 the amenities fee and 14 the one hundred dollar per night room hold. I was told the card used for the room hold would be the one that any" charge to the room expenses" would be charged too. We went up to the room after the first twenty four hours. The room was extremely humid and sticky to the point of sweating while standing still. This was reported to the front desk multiple times but was not resolved during our four day stay. There was look like possible mold on the vents, and that was unsettling. And my last day the house keeping crew was really loud cleaning room started at 6am slamming doors when check isn’t til 11am. I think they could consider people are still sleeping. But the food in the restaurant was delicious. And there drinks were on point. Vending machine a lil pricey a water was $3.50 but there is a water machine on the floor with ice. The only real negative is the lack of a coffee machine in the room. This would really make our stay exceptional. There is limited coffee provided on the 2nd floor—however most hotels have this accessible at all times. We were able to get a mini fridge which I greatly appreciated as I was travelling with two kids. Parking is easy and underneath the hotel, which made it easy to transport our items. The location is minutes from Union station and about 10-15 min from the Smithsonian museums. Great location! Thank you for a great stay.

We were on a quick family trip in DC. We enjoyed that the hotel was very close to Union Station and to the Capital. The room itself was clean and I was pleasantly surprised that they clean the rooms every day. We had plenty of towels. The bed was most enjoyable and very comfortable, better than my bed at home. The food at the restaurant was excellent! I highly recommend the steak eggrolls. We would love to come and stay again.

The staff was nice though not clear on the process for parking amenity I was offered via email. In the end I did not receive the discounted price. Also there is a $35 fee tacked on that you apparently agree to (must be some tiny hidden wording) when booking. You can use $10 of it toward food however, when we tried to use it for breakfast they said no because we were checking out later that day. You have to use it the first day if you’re only there one night. That didn’t seem right. Otherwise we loved the room and the vibe at the hotel. *note there is no mini fridge or coffee pots in room so don’t bring back leftovers

Front counter person told me I get a free bottle of wine. Said I didn’t drink alcohol but would take a soda instead if they offered. Just said sorry no. For those who do not drink or have had issues with substance abuse. This kind of stunk. If you’re willing to give a bottle a wine offer a free 2 liter.

My main issue with the hotel was with billing and the way the situation was handled at checkout. I made my reservation through Expedia, but when I checked in, I was charged again $505 for the two nights of my stay, plus an additional $200, for a total of $705. Fortunately, I reviewed my bank account, noticed the charges, and was able to report the issue. The first employee who assisted me was very kind and explained that it had been a system error. I was told that I would receive a receipt at checkout. However, at checkout, while I was calmly explaining the situation to the front desk employee, who was also very patient and helpful, another staff member interrupted us and started raising her voice at me. I felt this was very disrespectful, especially because I was only asking for a receipt to have confirmation that the $705 charged to my card would be refunded. This was a mistake made by the hotel, not by me. The hotel should be more considerate in the way staff speak to guests, especially when guests are trying to resolve an issue caused by the hotel itself.

This hotel has really fallen off. It used to be my first choice when visiting DC for work, but customer service has gotten pretty bad over the past year or so. They even removed the coffee/tea stations that used to exist on each floor. No coffee in the rooms and none by the elevator.

Beds & pillows comfy. Received an email directly from the hotel stating we had a $29 room credit plus another $10 towards food & beverages. When checking in & inquiring about the credits, they have done away with the $29 credit and instead offer a free bottle of wine. We are not wine drinkers & would've definitely preferred the room credit. If it is not offered any more, why was it listed in the hotel email? Hotel is right next door to a fire station so we would hear sirens multiple times per night. There is no coffe maker in the room. There is a "cool box", labeled "not a refrigerator"....this also makes no sense. Amenities are far & few between with this hotel.

Having said that, the rooms and common areas were clean and fresh. You can tell the rooms have been updated relatively recently with mood lighting, and numerous ports to charge your electronic devices via USB. The WiFi was decent, and should be fast and robust enough for remote work. However, there wasn’t any water in the rooms, and all of the soap, shampoo, and lotion were from refillable bottles attached to the wall. These was a fairly nice restaurant in the lobby with a nice outdoor patio for eating. We weren’t able to go to the rooftop bar, as it was closed for another few weeks at the time of our stay. Here the bad… the staff were not very welcoming. There was only one courteous staff member that I interacted with. The rest were downright rude. One of the porters refused to speak with my female friend. We were together, she tried to ask a question, and he ignored her until I asked the SAME question! It was a very inauspicious beginning to our stay. Also, the last morning of our stay, there wasn’t ANY HOT WATER. There wasn’t an apology, or concession, even though we did mention itWhile I wasn’t expecting anything free, an apology would have gone a long way. In summary, it was just an “ok” place to stay. Not sure I’ll stay there again.

The property felt clean, and fresh, and new. It was a unique experience - a room like I've never stayed in before. That said, I rated it Good instead of excellent because of a few quirks that detracted from the experience like "napkins" for toilet paper that weren't up to the job. Also, while the lighting was very nice in some aspects, I couldn't figure out (and this may be on me) how to turn on the light for the toilet without turning on the lights for the whole room and waking my wife.

The only thing Yotel provided was 2 small paper cups and an ice machine down the hall. The Yotel is located beside a DC fire department, so expect to hear the sirens on the firetrucks leaving often, night and day. I believe next time I will try to Hyatt across the street.

The hotel charged me an extra $35 tax that was supposed to be already included with the Expedia fee. The rooms are small and renovated, but the walls between units are so thin, I could hear the next-door folks coughing all night. It is nearly impossible to figure out how the light switches work. There was no iron in the room. I called the concierge and she promised to have one delivered. I waited for 30 mins, but no one showed up. The location is convenient, but the neighborhood is dodgy at night.

Check in was miserable. We came in as a group of 8 in two rooms. 5 kids, 3 adults. We came in 2 hours after 3pm (check in time) and were told to sit in the lobby because the rooms weren’t ready. (?) that was the first red flag. Amenities in feb (president day weekend) were terrible. We couldn’t cash in the $10 in food and bev credit because the cafe is closed on Sundays. Of course the pool is closed. $35 resort fee isn’t justified just for fitness center and water station. Our Expedia $29 food and bev credit was also not honored. We’re told they give wine bottle instead. We didn’t want that. They told us the alternative is 2 bottles of water. LOL We asked for towels at 6:30 p. Called again at 7 then 8 then 9. Finally arrived at 9:30p. Wild. Do not stay here. Stay across the street at Hyatt regency instead. Kicking ourselves for not doing that. Saving a few pennies here isn’t worth it.

Many things wrong here. First of all $30 a day facility fee? For what? A pool that was closed? Second, when I booked it was advertised that there was coffee at every floor. Nope. The only coffee was at their restaurant that didn’t open until 7:30am and closed Saturday -Sunday. Speaking of the breakfast, it $28 a person and the buffet didn’t offer half of what was advertised. It was cold and a rip off. We had dinner there our first night and the dining room was closed so we had to eat in the bar area. That was fine but I’m pretty sure the bartender was alone because it took forever and when we got our food it was cold. Checking in was funny. We tried to use the kiosk but it said the room wasn’t ready. So we waited and we waited for someone to help us. Finally we got rude. And that was the last time we were even acknowledged in the 5 days/ 4 nights we were there… until we checked out. Our checkout lady was at least nice. There’s a lot of little things that just added up to not a great experience. Oh and we were supposed to get a free bottle of wine with our stay. That did not happen.

They don’t provide wash clothes or hand towels, the $29 voucher wasn’t given; we received a cheap bottle of wine instead. The toilet paper was individual pieces, not a roll. Couldn’t access the lobby restroom. The bar closed before the listed hours. Parking was $70/day. We were also charged $35 for incidentals that included nothing!

The we don’t offer them talk track is not taken care of your guest. If you’re staying here, bring your own washcloths and hand towels. When I was checking out the person right before me said that someone in Housekeeping snuck them some and the front desk clerk said they would get in trouble. Outrageous. The housekeeping employee had more compassion for the comfort of the guest than the hotel chain.

I expected this property to be as posh as the New York and Boston locations. It was not and it was very disappointing. However, the staff were friendly and the room was clean but plain. It would have been nice if they provided us with washcloths and facecloths. It would have also been nice if the restaurant was open for dinner.

Room was clean; bed was very comfortable (liked the adjustable up and down feature), was easy to work in the lobby before my room was ready. Only minor negative is that there wasn't eateries nearby- walked a block to grab coffee and a bagel.

First of all, why all these fees. I got charged two $35 convenience fees. Then we had to pay $60 for parking which was ridiculous. Breakfast wasn’t even free and they were charging $25 per person for breakfast. I asked for a city view and they gave me a view of an alley way. Then I couldn’t even watch what i wanted to watch on the tv in the room because the phone casting was not “apart” of the package that I got and I got the second best package. The air conditioner was not working fully, it was hot in the room and they only have it set on low so I could not make it colder in the room when i would try to adjust it. To charge all those fees and add ons you would think this hotel would be so much better and worth the money. Never again will i be staying at this yotel hotel or any yotel. If i could get my money back, I would! Staying at this hotel, made my first time visiting Washington DC a horrible experience.

The hotel is conveniently located, but this is my third time staying here and this time several amenities were noticeably missing: no hand towels, no washcloths, no roll of toilet paper (TP squares in a box instead) and the hotel restaurant was not actually open during their posted hours and refused to seat me (despite the restaurant being packed with customers…). I had to sit at the bar to have lunch. I was charged $55 to check in an hour before check-in time and then did not receive my promised F&B credit for charging my food to my room. On top of that - I can’t figure out how to turn the dang lights on! Ugh. Good price for a hotel in DC, but the experience is very frustrating.

This hotel is overall nice, I would stay again but only for a few days/ quick trip. I think that’s because the room is a bit small. I like the property was nice and clean and decorated in a lot of purple my favorite color!!! And it was in a good location which was walking distance to some things we wanted to see and do! I didn’t like the fact that they don’t give face towels and tell u to use a bath towel to bathe! And I had to call front desk several times for them to bring them! That’s unacceptable no face towels in a nice hotel that can be pricy to stay at and the incedental fee being $100 per night and u can’t get face towels is ridiculous! Please do better with that and with responding in a timely manner when a guest calls the front desk for something it shouldn’t take 3 times to address the issue! Other than that it was a good stay!

The room was OK, but they did not have any washcloths unless you asked no ice buckets unless you had to ask you couldn’t go to any other floor unless you went down to ask to go to another floor because your key card only went to the floor that you were on. While we were there two days of the TV is not working, which they said I had to do with the weather, but it happened before the rain came. The breakfast area did not open until a certain time so people who started early could not get breakfast or coffee because they didn’t have coffee machines in the room. The place was updated and futuristic, but have the switches didn’t work to turn the lights on. all the windows were sealed shut so you couldn’t open it to get fresh air just little things here and there the front desk staff was really nice and helped us when we asked which was quite a bit.

Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We could hear a little street noise from sirens etc, but that's to be expected in a big city. The staff were certainly friendly and did their best to accommodate us. The TV didn't work for three of our five days including one day where it was a hotel-wide outage. Not a big deal as we were exploring the city. Luckily visiting after Labour Day there were none of the concerns of noise from the rooftop bar. If you want to catch a taxi to explore further outside the walking area, they seemed to line up across the road at the Hyatt. We did appreciate that they made up our room each day as this seems to be something that many hotels have abandoned since the pandemic. We were told there was a VIP room credit for food/drinks, but we didn't receive that. The other thing to know about is that most hotels will charge you a one-time incidentals fee of $50-250 in our experience, Yotel charges an incidental fee to your credit card of $100 USD PER NIGHT. If you have a lower credit card limit, this could be a huge issue for travelers so be aware. Being Canadian that was a $1000 in incidentals which was more than our round trip flights for a family of three, which was a serious shock when we checked in. Overall, great hotel and location. I

But no coffee in room or anywhere in the hotel (other than the bar). $35 extra hotel fee per night (why again)? They think by adding a $10 credit at the bar that it would be beneficial, it is not. The whole thing felt very weird. I had to check in at a kiosk instead of with a person, the place felt extremely impersonal, the room was over engineered to the point that I felt more like an economic unit than a human being. I will try to avoid staying in a Yotel after that experience.

Lack of communication about parking (what levels to use, etc.). Zero instructions on how to use the elevator. I spent 10 minutes going between the lobby and the parking garage before another guest demonstrated. Instructions should be more prominently displayed and staff should be more informative upon check in.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Billing was not clear on upgrade charge (didn’t appear on initial charge but did upon check out), room temperature was inconsistent (woke up multiple times hot throughout the night in spite of having the air set to a low temp), and this facility chose to do away with washcloths and hand towels. I’m not traveling home with wet washcloths and don’t really want to buy them to throw away at the hotel.

Dining and seating: Our kids eat standard American fare, but options they did not eat even french fries. The dining area offered only high-top seating, which isn’t ideal for toddlers needing lower chairs or flexible seating. Check-in and rooms: We booked two rooms, but the second room wasn’t visible in the system at check-in. We were offered a second room on a different floor, yet the key card only granted elevator access to our assigned floor. This made transfer awkward and confusing for a family. Elevators: The elevators smelled like urine. Bathroom design: The glass bathroom door means night-time use can wake sleepers due to light entering the bedroom. Morning coffee: We were told coffee would be in the lobby at 5:30 am, but that wasn’t true. For families starting early, reliable hot beverages matter. Overall: The hotel has positives like location and cleanliness, but several family-specific needs were lacking. Before booking, confirm parking clearance, kid-friendly dining, room allocation procedures, quieter rooms (non-glass doors), and reliable early-morning coffee. A few tweaks could make this much more family-friendly.

Staff were kind and helpful, across all areas (front desk, housekeeping, in the restaurant/bar). Other than that, we enjoyed everything about our stay.

No little thungs such as mouth wash, face wipes for make etc. Very limited resources and if they had it was located in a vending machine. I know one things for sure two things for certian I will not return here. Great location, minutes away from Union Station. However, don't expect much from the hotel itself, rushed through check-in, coffee is no-where to be found, you'll be sent to the roof-deck, only to be sent back down to the lobby. Rooms are okay, the beds are terrible (look fun in pictures), might as well sleep on the floor, would be about the same. Now if you are looking for hand towels or face cloths, non to be found - they are a "minimalist hotel", and their solution was a bath towel - yeah send me five of those - that helps the planet! This hotel is trying to be like Las Vegas with a $35 resort fee - which is absurd, they don't have the amenities you need and are trying to put lipstick on a pig. So, if you treat this like a Vegas hotel (which we did) - enjoy it for its location, but know it is run down, lacks anything people really need, and have done slight touch ups, but you can see through the massacred that they are showing - best of luck

The hotel was lovely, and the staff was very kind and responsive. It took me an hour to check in because my key card wouldn't work. Come to find out, the battery in the lock was dead, so they gave me another room. The only complaint I have is that we stayed there specifically to enjoy the pool after a long day, as it looked lovely. We would have had to pay $45 to attend the weekly "pool party." No food, but drinks. I have cancer and cannot drink, so I was not going to spend $45 just to swim. Also, I was charged a $35 resort fee. What was that for? I wish I had known that every weekend it costs extra to take advantage of the pool. Aside from that, the hotel is very nice and in a nice area.

The fees are extremely high: $35 a night in additional charges, plus no complimentary parking. The only option was $50 a night for the hotel lot, which is unacceptable. I ended up having to park on the street and constantly feed the meter. On top of that, the holding fee was very expensive considering the room was bare, with nothing but the beds. I have stayed at this hotel in the past, and it has changed for the worse. The quality has gone down while the costs have gone up. Overall, this hotel is overpriced for what it offers, and I would not recommend it.

The noise from very loud guests both Friday and Saturday continued late into the morning. For the price... and be sure to notice there is a $35 add on charge per night, for the price I've stayed in other hotels in DC that had a cool vibe, great food, quiet, clean and in prime locations. First, I encountered a few bugs in the room, which is never something you want to deal with during a hotel stay. More concerning was the environment during my visit. There was a large, very intoxicated crowd at the pool area, accompanied by a noticeable police presence. At one point, a visibly drunk woman was acting extremely erratic, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for other guests. Given the location, I expected a higher standard of clientele and better control over events, particularly when alcohol is involved. The scene at the pool felt more like an unruly party than a relaxing hotel amenity, and it’s enough to make me reconsider staying here again.

Now, the lows: The room view isn’t much, mine was the Hyatt, seemed like others would be office buildings or the back of the NBC/Fox news studios, despite how it's advertised. They charge a $35/night resort fee for the pool, gym, Wi-Fi, and a $10 food credit, which might seem fair—except the pool is closed to guests (without an extra charge) on summer weekends from 3–9pm. That’s when the chaos kicks in. On weekend afternoons, the hotel turns into a party zone. The lobby gets packed, many guests half-dressed, and the elevator becomes an ordeal. I’d happily stay here again, just not on a summer weekend. If you’re planning a weekday visit or something after Labor Day, it’s a solid pick. Otherwise, steer clear of the weekend madness.

As the party finished up one night we heard gun shots and saw quite the horrific murder scene right in front of the hotel. Hotel failed to inform guests of the situation causing us to feel very unsafe. The cleanliness of the room was mid, found a weird sticker that I know did not come off of anything we brought with us in the bed sheets which tells me they were not changed between guests. Overall the hotel was a great place to stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool party okay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and out was easy and fast.

Seemed like it’s a party hotel. Had people on the floor partying with loud music all hours of the morning. Security came on floor a few times. Walls super thin can hear everything in room next door. Overcharge on parking and amenities. Went to pool party got charge 20 for a towel and I was a guest there. Insane. Drinks were overpriced and tasted like water no type of alcohol.

I was looking forward to going to the rooftop pool, but you had a promoter there and we didn't get to use the pool all day the next day.It was bad and then last night, it was a shooting so I'm trying to get your number now so I can call you.I want my money back period

The bed was comfortable and we liked the ability to raise the head of the bed. The restaurant was great with very good food and portions. The lights were unique for us (age 55+) so we had to figure out the settings to operate them correctly. Parking our vehicle was a challenge because we had a larger size truck that would not fit into the nearby parking garages, except for a garage that allowed you to come in on Friday but would not open back up until Monday unless you paid an additional fee to have someone let you out on those closed days. We were also disappointed that we could not utilize the rooftop pool and bar after 3pm because it was rented out for the summer to a 3rd party vendor who charged a cover for it's use. And lastly, although we liked the room itself, we were located on the side of the hotel that is next to a fire house. We experienced very loud machinery noises and loud horns some mornings.

Didn’t like parking. It was confusing and staff was of no help. No validation or discount on parking for hotel guests. We weren’t told about $10 credit until too late to use it.

The rooftop pool party turns out to be a ratchet party, for anyone in the DMV area, and most, if not all people participating, are not staying at the hotel. They came only for the party. We saw people smashing champagne bottles in front of the hotel. People running out on their tabs at the restaurant. People walking with glass bottles of liquor around the pool (a huge safety issue). Regarding the champagne bottle smashing, the next morning the glass was still there. Yotel didn't even bother to clean it up. Overall, it was such an awkward experience. This is not a hotel environment. This place is trash.

Great place to stay for adults on a weekend. Make sure to find out the schedule for the rooftop pool before booking. They hold a pool party with a dj on weekends that is not told on hotels.com… make sure to do research on YOTEL website. If you are up tight about seeing too much skin, this may not be a place for your weekend trip. For us, the room was perfect, the blackout blinds were perfect. The bed is a posturpedic bed, with multiple positions possible. Located within walking distance to so many places. Parking being $55, just park and walk everywhere.

We paid an amenity fee that included the pool. However, the pool was rented to an independent company that will host an event that actually charge you to use to allow the pool from 2-9pm. They didn’t have clean wash cloths. I had to purchase from a local store. I requested for the room to be clean and it was never done.

One of the reasons I booked Yotel was to take my 8 yo son to the pool. However, when I booked there was no warning about the pool being used by a third-party for an adults pool party/DJ event. We were told we had to leave the pool at 2pm. Guests are definitely not a priority. Throughout the afternoon and about 10pm the loud music gave us a headache. Horrible! The elevators smelled like skunk, and because of the amount of people at the party (non-hotel guests btw), finding an elevator was a pain in the neck. Do not recommend this hotel for families and will never book a yotel again! If you’re thinking about booking make sure to check if they are throwing parties first, or just avoid altogether, not worth the headache.

Yotel is located conveniently next to EVERYTHING in DC and the wharf. And quick 10 minute uber ride and you are anywhere you need to be. The hotel is definitely for the minimalist as it is a boutique line. When you arrive, there are kiosk for you to check in yourself even assign yourself a room key. I was given a promotional email for a discount on early check in so I went to the front desk to check in. Unfortunately the front desk agent was very combative and even when seeing the email wouldn't honor it. I had to ask him to call his supervisor who honored the email and asked me to forward it to him to see. I booked the room thru expedia which I am a VIP booker. Another perk was getting 29 food credit instead of 10 since our first class room couldn't be upgraded. When I asked the rep for this also showing the email and said he had a list of VIP guest and I wasn't on it. I chose this hotel for my birthday for the rooftop pool and bar. The front desk agent notified me that the pool would be closing at 2 all weekend for a private pool party. (Keep in mind that regular check in is at 3.) he said the pool party was 40.00 without a wristband and if I grabbed a wrist band by 4 I would be good to get in free. We put our bags down and came down at 1 to get a wrist band. We were told by the company running the pool party that everyone was being misinformed. The pool party would be every weekend this summer and not open to hotel guest unless they purchase a wrist band.

Most Bothering was the Parking Fee that was 90 dollars a day which is underneath of the Hotel, and strange when i called the hotel for parking they said they DO NOT charge for parking , another extremely crazy thing is that they teamed up with some "strand venue " to bring people in at the pool on top and that made the place crowded with all kind of strange people if you can call them like that.I will not go back for sure .

The parking is pricey at $50 per night with in/out privileges. One of the main reasons I booked the hotel is for the roof top pool…well we could not use it because of a pool party that cost $40…that should have been something relayed as they lost the rooftop pool as an amenity

Everything about this hotel was amazing! I brought my daughter to visit Howard University and I wanted her to stay in a cute and colorful hotel; this one was spot on! The front desk agent Lolo was so kind and helpful! We stayed in the double queen room, the beds were so comfy and I loved that they were adjustable. Self check-in was seamless, there was plenty of parking available, and the roof top pool was a vibe. My daughter and I had a great trip overall but this hotel was the icing on the cake!

My expectation was not met. I loved the area the hotel is in very close to everything. We stayed a weekend here and it was impossible to get to where we needed to be because the elevators was always filled with people and the stair didn’t go all the way to the garage. The pool is rented on the weekends after 3pm which is very upsetting knowing that check in is at 3pm😭. The rooms are very clean! Would not stay again.

Although listed online as family friendly, this hotel is anything but that. We traveled with our 10 yr old son and as we walked into the lobby we passed a line of half clothed girls waiting to get into the pool party upstairs. Two heavily intoxicated men were escorted out in front of us. We witnessed several escorts and their clients get into/out of the elevators. We got to our room and found a used bandaid on the floor and music blaring so loud we couldn’t even hear our tv. After 5 minutes in the room, we decided to ask for a refund and check out. They only refunded us for 1 night but charged us for a night. The manager was polite but unaccommodating.

My stay was good up until the point of for my check in they alerted me of the rooftop pool party and made it known I would have access. The day of the party hotel staff lets me know that I’m unable to attend the party or access the pool even though I’m staying in the hotel.
