    We were there for a day event and we were famished every night when we got home. He acted like we were lost when we came to see if we could get a seat and then the second night fully ignored us. Oh well… Otherwise everyone was so wonderful. Especially the guys at the reception desk and our housekeeper. Our room was cleaned so well when we came back every day. It was immaculate. And we always had fresh water stocked.

    This property was incredible! The location, cleanliness, and attention of the staff was beyond expectations. The room was filled with amenities - hair dryer, iron, toiletries, water, cappuccino machine and the list goes on. The staff was super friendly and VERY helpful. The room was very clean and serviced every day. My only issue with the hotel was the cost of breakfast. We ate in the dining room one morning, I completely understand paying premium cost for a french meal but scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, and coffee should not cost $78.99. Not french eggs, not prepared a different way, no special oatmeal.. plain American food.. That was an unnecessary cost.

    Hotel bed was very comfortable, room was clean, cleaning staff excellent, free waters daily and coffee. Refrigerator was present but not very cold. Water pressure not great. Location could not be better for attractions. Was central to most things we wanted to do. All in all it was a fantastic stay, we all enjoyed our time there.

    Beautiful old-fashioned hotel centrally located. I had a room on one of the upper floors and facing the quiet courtyard. The room was spacious, elegantly furnished and quiet. It had a very comfortable bed. I love the spacious bathroom and the great shower. I found the prize pretty high - at least for European standards.

    Housekeeping did not replenish coffee did not take any garbage out of the room, even though it was piled up by the door for three days They did make the bed and replenish towels every day. One day did not secure my door when they left. It was left open. I’ve stayed at this hotel quite a few times and sister hotels in different cities I do thoroughly enjoy this brand and it won’t stop me from coming back. I’ll just speak up faster next time.it

    This was the ideal location for exploring the museums, the Capitol, and the monuments. Close to Penn Quarter’s great restaurants. A block Lafayette Square and the White House. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed outdoor dining in addition to a brasserie.

    Listen, they let me down throughout my stay.My check in experience was terrible..then i had to extend by 1 day cos my flight is 10pm .i informed front desk day before, then wend sightseeing since 9am, came back at 3pm hoping to find a nice clean room. But no one touched my room.i had to wait in the lobby still waiting whilst i am writing this review for God knows how long defeating the whole point of paying for an extra day as i could have just checked out and stay in lobby all day whilst waiting for my flight!!!

    We were also double charged for parking and they wouldn’t credit us for it without a receipt emailed to them, but we never received a receipt. we showed them the charge on our credit card app, but that wouldn’t suffice. Again, for such a nice hotel you would think they would just credit it.

    Hotel staff was amazing and very accommodating, we ended up with a lot of leftovers that we were able to refrigerate, but there was no microwave that came with our room. We asked the the staff if there was anywhere we could microwave, and they dropped off a microwave! Also, they offered complimentary bottles of water, that was very nice. Loved the hotel, very clean, very accommodating. They have books available if you want to read at night because most everything closes rather early in that area and surrounding area (like 9pm or earlier) so if you're a night owl, you'll have to travel further (but I would not recommend metro anymore - for safety reasons).

    The room configuration was very strange. It seemed to be designed for a single ASA person. Thank goodness I packed ear plugs because the bed was at the door and the door would rattle and you could hear anyone walking down the hall or opening/closing their door. The A/C would constantly switch on and off loudly throughout the night. The TV was positioned over a desk that was not viewable from the bed or the couch. Never watched. The bathroom had a single sink but two showers and a tub. Just weird. Also, the bed only had a bottom sheet and a duvet. No duvet cover or top sheet. Hover, the bed was comfortable and the room overall was clean.

    I think service was the most disappointing at front desk and restaurant . The host Also , we ended up going to Riggs for breakfast one morning because the breakfast menu was very mediocre and eating it for 3 days in a row got very old . Dinner menu is not bad but also only if you eat there once , they don’t even offer daily specials that would add a little variety .

    Disappointed to find that the full cost of the breakfast was not included in my room rate even though that was what o thought I had agreed to. It seems you are only allowed one item off the breakfast menu to avoid extra charges. Also I was not aware of the additional daily urban experience fee of $40 (incl tax) charged to my account which increased the bill significantly. I think a hotel of this quality should be more transparent with its charging.

    We got our room 1.30 hour later than the 3 ocklock check in time. We were supposed to get a text and never did. The water in the rooms are tasting like really bad. DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. When we addressed the issue the front desk was just like we have told the corporate about it and thanked us. There is no public facilities so I don’t understand why there is a 40$ “resort fee”. Overall not that great for a 5 star hotel.

    The staff truly made the stay exceptional. Every employee we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality stood out and made us feel very welcome. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance to many of DC’s main attractions. While the rooms are a bit smaller, that’s expected in DC and was more than made up for by the cleanliness, comfort, and outstanding service. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

    The hotel and staff are were very nice. Sofitel needs to staff their valet parking better and turn down the air conditioning in the breakfast cafe. Otherwise a wonderful place, great room.

    Hotel was decent but was definitely not a 5 star hotel.upon arrival no door man around to help with luggage. In fact throughout our 3 day stay there was never any staff at the front entry way! We had 4 outlets all near the bed that didn’t work. They sent someone to check it out immediately but they were never fixed. Food was decent and location excellent for seeing all the attractions in DC.

    The property is kept well and clean. Staff and service was exceptional. The location was phenomenal, right next to the white house and easy to walk to national mall. The property has an older feel to it. I avidly use the gyms at hotel. This one was failing. Missing dumbells, mismatched weight, several pieces of broken equipment. Unkept and frankly unusable. They have a peloton which is unstable and a hazard.

    We had a nice stay at this Sofitel. Wish our bed was a little firmer ( of course that’s a personal preference) and for some odd reason we did not have a top sheet. Slept directly under the comforter. Otherwise, the room was very nice and the staff was great!

    there is no in hotel store to purchase toiletries, drinks etc. i was advised where to find a CVS at 10 pm?....hotel concierge is nor knowledgeable about the area : ei : directions, restaurants. menu is very eclectic....foo foo french stuff. refrigerator did not work. can be noisy . had better stays at Hampton inns. will not be returning waste of money.

    Overall I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, I arrived early and they let me check in on time, The only thing I would complained is that when I asked for room cleaning, they didn’t change new towels for me everyday, some days they did refill new towels and some days they didn’t, I guess it depends on the person who do the cleaning bc I noticed it’s someone different everyday.

    The room was terrible. It had no ceiling lights and only three lamps in 400sqft. It was probably north facing so had no sun light. There was constant noise of some motor whizzing near our room - probably room specific. The curtains are tedious to close. All in all just a terribly designed room. Staff are also not polite. If you enter the hotel at night without a key a guy interrogates you with disdain. I saw them nearly shout at a young woman who who asked for a replacement key. Parking is $65 - more expensive than the local parking. Gym is excellent and room size was big for conparable options. There is no warmth in this place. Do not book for non work reasons ever.

    The Sofitel is a very good property. It is very clean and beautiful. I could have used a little more closet space, but the room was nice. The housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning my room, but one of them threw away one of my toiletries. It was NOT an expensive item at all, and I am sure it was an accident, but I did tell the front desk. The woman at the front desk said she would get back to me, but she never did and when I mentioned it again at check out, I did not get anything for my inconvenience.

    They put us in the worst room on the property the tv faced the window and not the couch or bed. The light didn’t work by the door and the fridge/cooler didn’t work. The shower had no water pressure that they fixed the next day, but we still couldn’t take a shower after our arrival. The staff was nice.

    a wonderful place. so clean and excellent service. my only complaint is you can hear and feel the doors opening and closing from the other rooms on the same floor. so when sleeping I would be woken up by the doors slamming or the bed would rattle from the others doors slamming. not sure if maybe the doors can be adjusted to not slam when they close? or have a soft close? other than that i have no complaints it was an amazing stay.

    I didn't like that I had to request a fitted sheet and top sheet to our bed. There was no refrigerator in our room. When the towels had to be restocked, housekeeping only left one set, we had three guests our entire stay. Lastly, this was the first time I have stayed at a hotel and had to call the front desk to ask to restock more toilet paper.

    We stayed here the week of July 4th. It was conveniently located one block from the Metro. The map on Expedia is a little deceiving as it appears the hotel is directly across from the White House. It is actually 2 blocks from the White House. The hotel is clean and the front desk employees were very nice and helpful. The parking attendants could have paid more attention to helping you with opening the front door, which is very heavy, and the handicap push button was directly behind them making it difficult to get to when your hands were full, most of them didn't even look at you or greet you. The rooms are nice but when another room leaves the doors slam and shake the door to your room. The beds are a little on the firm side. The refrigerators are ridiculous, they have notches on each shelf for drinks so it is difficult to put any food in it and it was never very cold, I could not find the cooling knob to turn it up. You can connect your tv to any streaming service, which worked the first 2 days but then it was hit and miss the remaining days of our stay. The IT guy came up and evaluated it and said he would have to call the company. I don't know if he did because it was difficult to connect even after he came to evaluate it.

    I recently attended the 57th Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated convention and stayed at the Sofitel Lafayette Square hotel and really enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. The hotel is in walking distance to different restaurants from upscale to fast food. Various high end shopping options were in close proximity also. Overall, we had a great stay and will revisit if we are ever in the area again.

    Overal a beautiful hotel. Property and room were lovely. Great staff and location. Breakfast was very good, however we had it included in our rate but the front of house and waiters did not know what we could have. So we had to go back out to reception who knew, 45 USD per person. Tips not included. Just better communication within the internal teams here. The gym was poor and needs refurbishment which was disappointing due how nice the rest of the hotel is and the price. The main weight machines were broken and the weights were a mixture and not heavy. If you just wanted to do cardio then it would be fine.

    This property was older. It needs some upgrading. The carpets in elevators, halls, and rooms need to be deep cleaned or changed. Our bed was not comfortable and we had to change rooms because our room kept making a horrible whistling sound all night long. The water pressure in both of our rooms was not good at all! Our stay was not as we had hoped in celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. Not the most comfortable happy stay. Also, the gym is really small a d dark feeling. Needs new lighting and a clean welcome feeling. However, the entire staff was very polite and professional, including the restaurant staff!! The food at the hotel was great!!
