U guys are always great when I come and stay.

Great location, clean area, friendly staff! Beds are firm, pillows are clean, AC works great. Little things, no dealbreakers! No microwaves in the rooms, most dont use them. They have one in the common area! People do slam doors. Not a true issue as its based on your neighbors, but the doors dont "quiet close" for their latches.

Much better room this time. Very economical and simple room on the water.

I enjoyed the location and the hotel itself very much. My issue was VERY loud neighbors both nights I stayed, particularly the first night. The rooms are lovely but if you have loud neighbors, you will hear everything. And I mean everything. I think this could be easily addressed by letting people know expectations of quiet after 10pm and before 6am and having a way to easily address if someone is being disruptive.

Unknown. My husband and I did not feel welcomed or received by family staff at the time of check-in. Our ADA room was no longer available due to staff error and a lack of system notation. I could not physically walk up or down 15 concrete steps, as I had a cane and walker. The hotel refused to refund the charges until Booking.com called the front desk to intervene. Ultimately, Booking.com became the refunding party. Due to these reasons and my hotel experience, I can not nor will not rate this establishment without prejudice or biases.

The marina location. Quiet. Affordable price. Affordable dog fee. Easily accessible free parking. No crowds. Nice hiking trails. Mark at front desk was great. -The floor in the room was dirty. They need to mop. -The staff was having their lunch at the main lobby and they were having Indian food so smelled all over. They should eat in their break room or elsewhere. -the room phone did not work and was not replaced. -our original room had a non-working fridge so had to transfer us to another room. -the coffee maker in the lobby was out of order and not fixed.

The security was so bad we didn’t feel safe sleeping. People were smoking marijuana below us and it filled our room with smoke so badly we had to pry open our window to breathe.

Reasonably priced, not a fancy room, but a clean and quiet room with a nice view of the marina. Plenty of parking and room was neat and clean. Staff were very nice.

The lady at check-in was very nice getting to our room. It smelled like pee in the hallway and cigarette smoke. The Wi-Fi didn’t work. The TV didn’t work. The blow dryer didn’t work all the plugs in the bathroom didn’t work. One of the beds was so squeaky and loud that it was hard to have a good nights rest. I went for a girls night to relax by the water and watch movies and we couldn’t watch anything. We tried our small iPads but the WiFi was spotty and just kept circling. Parking was convenient

This was so bad we didn't even stay. It felt unsafe and smelled weird and there was cleaning supplies left in the hall ways. It was not at all what was advertised, it was worth losing the money to stay someplace else.

Love this spot. Third time staying here. Parking is convenient, staff is friendly & accommodating, rooms are simple cozy & do just the trick for a well rested night! Very much recommend staying here, and the view is so charming! Truly a hidden gem to stay!!!

Clean room, comfortable bed, close to the water for an evening stroll. Good products to clean 48hrs on a train away. Tea, coffee, and a couple snacks to fuel todays train journey. Plus close enough to walk to the Alameda free water taxi to walk to Oakland Jack London train station. We will definitely stay again.

It has a beautiful setting right next to the harbor. The property was well-maintained and very clean, though shops are a 30-minute walk away. However, grocery delivery (Walmart) was exceptionally fast. The connecting room door was very thin with a 1/2 inch gap at the bottom; you can hear everything in the next room, which impacts privacy. The 1970s-style lamps and slow, integrated headboard chargers need modern USB/USB-C upgrades. For some odd reason, when I was connected to their WiFi, neither my phone or my laptop could get a signal. Once I disconnect from the WiFi, everything worked just fine. I did mention that to the front desk clerk, but he said his electronics were working okay, so I let it go. The headboard was unanchored and rocked against the wall, requiring a DIY fix with pillows. This hotel is a decent budget-friendly option for the price, just be prepared to deal with a few trivial inconveniences and minor annoyances. 4/24/2026

Our stay was OUTSTANDING in every way!! The room was spotless and well well-appointed, bed and bedding were luxuriously comfortable, all electrical and plumbing equipments looked and operated brand new, the grounds and parking lot are clean, well-lighted, well-marked, and easily accessible. The Staff was welcoming, friendly, helpful and understand "hospitality". Its location along the yacht basis is wonderful; we walked the entire mile sidewalk. We will definitely visit there again.

My earrings were stolen while we were out of the room. I placed my earrings in a sock and placed sock in my luggage I went back to the property a week later and the manager asked me to wait while he reviewed security tape. After reviewing the tape, he returned to the lobby and told me the reel didn’t go back a week so he had nothing to report. Before accusing the property of thievery, I checked my luggage and clothing thoroughly several times to confirm the sock wasn’t tucked somewhere. I never found my earrings so I’m 100% certain they were stolen. Be careful if you stay here.

Pictures need up date, there’s no pool. The staff was cold and unfriendly, more like judgmental. As a single woman they gave me a far isolated cornered room with a messed up door and a window with out a screen or secure look facing a parking lot with much night activity. The area is nice and the hotel has lots of character for a good working hotel.

The property is in need of serious renovation and updates. I was disappointed that there were not more amenities. The staff was somewhat responsive but it took a little longer than expected to resolve a few issues. It’s a good location so I hope it will be upgraded.

Room was clean, and staff friendly. The TV did not work, but the fact that the door lock was defective, would not lock, and we didn’t realize until checking out made for an inexcusable, unsafe stay. We are lucky nothing was stolen and worse nothing happened to us.

The room could have been cleaner. The floor was not cleanes properly. The curtain was torn. The bed was not connected to the headboard leaving ragged metal exposed. The desk chair was broken. It was together without screws and fell apart when I sat on it. The red chair in room needs cleaning. I notified staff of broken chair and bed. The staffer (Indian) male stated he would have maintenance look at it with no time given. He did not seen concerned when I told him about falling from the chair. The morning staffer (Hispanic) male said its known the headboard wasn't attached.

Overall the hotel was clean, safe, and provided a good stay. My only negative was that there was a weird person constantly in the lobby area throughout my entire stay, which put me off using the amenities in there when needed. They didn’t seem like a guest but maybe staff on break? Not sure, but they were there every time over multiple days and made it very uncomfortable

Thin walls so if your neighbors are inconsiderate you will know. Shower pressure and temperature could have been better. Not their fault, but fireworks multiple times after 10pm.

So quiet here by the marina. Free parking and recently remodeled.

Tip….if visiting family or friends in Alameda there is a discount if booked by the local resident. Good clean place. I would stay there again:)

Staff needs to get some people at the front desk who have MUCH BETTER people skills. Hospitality and hotels are not a place for surly, rude or borderline unprofessional temperament at a hotel registration desk.

Nice and quiet with a beautiful Marina

I stayed at this beautiful hotel (in Room 210 for 4 nights) at the marina from February 23 to February 27. The customer service from the front desk team, management team and the hotel maintenance team was truly outstanding, impressive and first-rate. The housekeeping team did an excellent job with cleaning my room very well on a daily basis and an amazing job with cleaning all the guest common areas. The hotel lobby is very welcoming and very clean. The views of the marina from my hotel room were absolutely beautiful. This hotel is close to several AMAZING restaurants and there are plenty of parking spots available for guests. This hotel is next to a beautiful park with a gorgeous walking trail. I highly recommend this fabulous hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and very well maintained hotel in a safe area of Alameda with very friendly customer service. I am looking forward to staying at this hotel during my next visit to Alameda. Thank you so much for the outstanding customer service and for providing such a comfortable stay at this top notch hotel at the marina in Alameda.

Consistent hot water for all 3 days of my stay,this was a known issue as I was told by the front desk manager Mark he has told the owners about this And theyhave not fixed the problem.

The room was fine. There were issues with the water when I arrived and it seems that pressure was an issue while I was there. It seemed the property was under renevation and was messy.

The staff are very rude. This hotel has transitioned from a homeless shelter in last year or two. Google “Marina Village Inn and homeless”. They still attract a houseless clientele. Very loud people in rooms. Someone was smoking in the room below me and the staff didn’t even apologize. They acted annoyed that I asked them to do something about it. One staff member came into to fix my tv at 7am and proceeded to angrily slam the hotel room door when he left, which undoubtedly woke guests on the floor I was staying on. The staff doesn’t take complaints seriously. They are marketing this as an “Alameda Tourist” type hotel, when it’s more of a low income housing transitional type of motel. The rooms are very old, I had a cracked sink drain stopper, shower had a rusted metal drain. It’s good for a lower end economy stay, but not much else.

Customer service was amazing, very kind and helpful. The rooms are so clean and newly remodeled. I can’t wait to come back here again. It’s right on the water away from all the commercial downtown Oakland chaos. If I could Id five them 10 stars

The room was falling apart. We had to use 2 remotes to work the tv, the water pressure was horrible, the bed wasn’t mounted to the wall, mattress was old and beyond the point of being trashed, there was maintenance being done so it sounded like someone was going to break in at any second, the staff was RUDE and on a power trip rather than helping and being informative, the list goes on and on. Save your money and DO NOT STAY HERE.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Small fridge but no microwave but the microwave in the lobby was available 24/7. The staff uses the microwave to heat up their lunches. Staff was neither rude nor warmly welcoming. Neutral. I got to the hotel a little past noon and was told room won't be available till 3 but he got me in by 145pm.

Well, the room was clean, but I asked for an extra blanket. They said yes, but never got it. The Internet comes and goes. The TV comes and goes. You’ll be watching a show and every show I watched would stop to download and continue minutes later so it was disappointing. One thing I did like was free parking that’s it that’s all I have to say wasn’t impressed

Five star for the location of the hotel. The room is quite nice except there is no closet to put/hang my clothes. However, because of the wood floors, I can hear every single person walking in the corridor outside my room, as well as the rooms adjacent to me. I was not able to sleep because there are people walking around even in the middle of the night, at 3am. Only because of that, I will not be staying here again.

The staff was friendly. The room was okay. The window was crooked and did not close; there was a gap of around two inches which led to the room being really cold.

Noise was excessive at times. Lots of chatting and loud voices on hallways, phones ringing, computers talking on neighbors rooms... all too loud in our room.

check in was quick and easy and parking was great! however, room came with some issues. curtain covering glass front door had some stains, only had 1 towel set in room, remote was malfunctioning, bathroom door was malfunctioning and ventilation was poor. not having a window to open without exposing room was a bit odd. honestly, would still book if i need quick stay in the bay because the bed wasn't too bad ahahaha and good parking is always a plus

Everything about the stay was poor from check in to check out. Check in was supposed to be at 3, room wasn’t ready until 4. Asked for a late checkout due to the hour it took for the room to be ready, and the receptionist said she would make note of a late check out, and we were still interrupted by housekeeping 45 min before our “late checkout.” Receptionist seemed flustered and had no solutions to solve any problem we had. No hairdryer in room, cabinets and shower shelving ripped out of the walls, lack of body wash and hand soap. When we returned to the room in the evening after leaving, there was a spider on the bed. Will not be returning.

Great price but rooms need updating (connect wall switches to lamps, add overhead lighting, insulate walks against noise). Also next time I’ll drag myself upstairs to avoid overhead noise which made sleep difficult. Excellent restaurant across the parking lot though!

Staff is amazing

Really great property. Had no idea this was in the area. Price was perfect. Room was clean for the most part did see some dust and rust in the corner of the room and shower. My only issue is the bed is not anchored to the wall. Tossing and turning the bed moving forward woke me up a couple times. Would stay again.

I've stayed here a few times and some rooms are nicer. So maybe we were staying in an older part of the property.

Room I had wasn’t quite like the photos but was fine. Upper class rooms are very nice, mine was a bit cramped but clean comfortable and very quiet.

No pool and my room smelled liked over strength cleaning products which made my clothes smell the same .

The staff displayed unprofessional behavior and abruptly ended my questions about the check-out process. Additionally, someone entered our room without warning, which could have been extremely inappropriate had we not been dressed. I would not recommend this property.

Older property but well keep up and clean. The marina view from our back deck was beautiful. Safe and quiet area with nice walking pathway along marina near the hotel.

The room was clean, bed comfortable. It would have been nice to have a clock in the room so I didn’t have to open my phone every time I wanted to know what time it was and the shower was slippery, could have used some adhesive ducks.

I spent the day on the Bay with friends. We had a late dinner. When I checked in, they were courteous and ready. I was given the key and was in my room in ten minutes.

Outstanding value! Very clean, mostly quiet. But no restaurants within walking distance other than an Asian restaurant nearby.

Room was clean other than heavy air freshener smell and a little musty smell from bathroom Only down Fall was the 10 am check out time I didn't realize that when I booked it . Bed was comfy loved the outdoor balcony area

There is NO pool, it has been drained for years and has two fences around it, the building is falling apart with some areas that look dangerous, and smells like years of cigarette smoke. The walls are very thin, you can hear every cough and footstep. The rooms are in disrepair, paint chipping, dried stains on the walls - though they are swept and the linens seem clean.

For one they charge 100., deposit., if not paid I couldn't stay. Where was I to go with my daughter at the last minute. I took a cideo of the room before moving or touching anything because I didn't want for them to accused me of damaging anything in the room and give them a reason to keep my deposit or charge for anything else. I don't know if the deposit will be returned to me. The head bed wasn't attached to the bed so everytime I moved it would hit the wall. No WI-FI, no breakfast, nothing! It was just a bad experience.

My room was very clean, smelled very good as well, not like cleaning solutions. Check in and check out was very fast and simple. The front desk attendants were very friendly and helpful. Great nice little patio to have my morning coffee was very peaceful and great view of all the beautiful boats. Definitely would stay again!

I did not like the room door was not completely sealed and you can see the outside light around the door frame at night time. There was a small black spot of mold in the left bottom corner of the shower and the door handle for the room was wobbly.

We had never stayed in Alameda before and were pleasantly surprised by this little gem. Located on the waterfront, this room had a beautiful view. The staff was kind and helpful. It was reasonably priced. Our only issue was a coffee maker which didn’t work.

This was my second time staying at the Marina Village Inn. I traveled from the Sacramento area for a quiet weekend away from home to Marina Village Inn. The view of the Marina was mainly the reason I came back. My hotel room was very clean although the towels needed to be softer. The front desk service was kind and helpful. Guest service was speedy when I called to have fresh towels and an ironing board. I will differently be returning for another weekend away from home to the Bay Area.

Comfortable hotel, clean room, good location, friendly staff, breakfast wasn’t really enough to consider it “continental breakfast”, but overall it was a nice property.

We could hear everything from the room on top of us - it was like bad apartment living. Additionally, no wifi and despite the "smart tv" it didn't work. The bathroom door wouldn't close all the way offering no privacy and the glass panels and door were dirty. They said they "upgraded us" so I hate to know what room we would have been in. The bed itself was surprisingly comfortable but not the pillows. I do not recommend this place and will never stay again. Also, the pool is drained so just an empty eye sore that made for interesting conversation with my kids.

I love being on the water. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. It was nice having a table outside so we could enjoy the view!

This is where I'll stay when visiting Alameda from now on. For business it's perfect. It's very clean and comfortable and the right price. Only drawback is lack of closet space, but I can live with that, when the rest was just right.

The location of the motel is excellent, but unfortunately, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I was very disappointed. The towels were in terrible condition, the soap appeared to be diluted with water, and the bed sheets had noticeable stains. Worst of all, I found a needle near the toilet, which was extremely alarming and unacceptable.

The facility appears to be upgraded. Comfortable beds, nice shower, quiet area. There were inconveniences such as out of hair conditioner. Fortunately the area felt safe as there was a questionable lock on the sliding door.

The bathroom was dirty there was home alone that I had to plug in because I wasn't sure if there was a mouse it was going to come through it. I made a reservation online for myself and my aunt who's in a wheelchair. The gentleman desk said he only had an upstairs room available which what is almost impossible to carry my aunt upstairs and her wheelchair with my arthritic knees. He said for $75 more he could give us different room but it was also upstairs. I already paid $120 which was too much for that place anyway. There was barely any cars in the parking lot and after he told me he could not help us I went online and saw there were many rooms available. It was super frustrating and disheartening that this gentleman could not be a little more empathetic towards my aunt's disability. So we drove her all the way to San Leandro back to my other aunt's house so she could sleep on their couch and I stayed in the filthy room by myself! I will never stay here or again!

The only drawback is the TV sound is set on one low volume and for one hard of hearing watching TV was challenging.

We chose Marina Village Inn as it is conveniently located near our regatta destination Encinal Yacht Club. We were completely impressed with Mark at reception who was friendly, helpful, and informative. He even took the time to give us a tour of the property and point out the best way to walk to stores and restaurants with recommendations. The lobby offers coffee and bagged pastries throughout the day. Nearby you will find, ice, a water filling station and laundry facilities. The rooms are quite nice with comfortable beds and bedding, also in- room coffee and yummy chocolates as well as the other essentials you would expect. We could hear upstairs guests stomping around some but the property is very peaceful and serene. I recommend the marina view room as its worth it. Views are lovely. We will make Marina Village Inn our choice for future visits to the area.

Outside is a bit dingy and old but the inside of the rooms are nice and if you get a room with a view it is pretty beautiful but I wouldn’t be here long term I’d say a night was good for me

No room service number on the phone. The hand soap was mostly water, went to the reception to ask for another one, it was also watered down. There was not an iron in the room so I went to the office AGAIN since I couldn’t call them from the room and they told me to GO LOOK for the house keeper and ask them for one. Walked around the property till I finally found them and was late to my event. There was a whole in the room which ran a cable to the TV and that made me very uncomfortable. Also the wifi didn’t work at all which I kind of depended on for work. The room was very spacious and had a beautiful view to the piers but the service is horrible and I was disgusted that the soaps are prefilled with water. Definitely management needs improvement but it’s got a lot of potential.

Staff charged my card twice for a single night; I called over and over and they denied this and said they would have the manager call me. Manager never called so my bank is working on clearing the faulty charges. Great hotel but they tucked up the charge and simply would not help me.

Not very good, the room was facing the harbor where there’s a gate and a bunch of lights shining in the windows. Not very clean, the heater was really loud And I had to keep it on because it was freezing.

Great hotel. The cleaning staff was incredible. The room was recently remodeled and a nice size. There was no microwave but places to eat nearby. The view of the marina and calm at night near the water makes up for it. Would stay again.

Property is under renovation, so no pool and obvious construction happening. Best rooms are the balcony rooms facing the marina.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times. I love the quiet neighborhood and marina view. Great sunsets and great location for restaurants and breweries and shopping. Walking/jogging path along the marina just outside the property. This is an old 50s style motel, which is under renovation. I would only recommend getting one of the rooms with a balcony facing the marina. The pool is still empty and closed off, which is an eyesore, however, the price and other attributes make it worthwhile. Once the renovations are complete I’m sure it will be crazy expensive.

Location was excellent and views of marina were very nice. We enjoyed the stay.

Older hotel that was remodeled on the interior. Exterior still dated but not bad. Checkin and front counter staff solid. Solved maintenance request immediately. Mattresses need to be flipped or replaced. Upgraded my room to water front view at no additional cost. Also gave a 20% discount coupon for next visit thru end of 2025.

Lovely roomy room though and nice airflow - definitely will return but request a none adjoining 🙂

Pros: - Clean, crisp linens - Comfortable bed & pillows - No bugs! - Vinyl floor instead of gross carpet - Microwave & mini fridge - Free parking - Scenic area - Friendly staff Cons: - No real closet - Stall shower/odd bathroom w/sticky door - Loud heater w/one speed It’s not luxury but for the price, it was definitely worth it. Loved being able to park in the lot safely for free, considering the Oakland options we were debating. The staff was accommodating to our late arrival. Would stay here again.

The young man at the front desk was super knowledgeable and eager to help. I really appreciated it.

Clean and fresh smelling room. Visually appealing with unique and pleasant furniture selections. Especially nice the parking is free and plentiful. However, could hear the guest in the locked adjoining room, but we were both considerate and quiet. I especially liked the bathroom vanity and it's associated wall tiling. Yes, I would stay here again!

The door adjoining the other room and the sliding glass door to the marina view patio did not lock. The locking mechanisms were there, they just were not lined up properly to lock. Other than that, it was a peacful place to stay.

For the value, this is a good inn to stay at. I would stay here again. The king size bed was nice. The towels in the bathroom were soft. The inn staff at the desk were very nice and professional.
