We had a wonderful overnight stay here. The large room was very well maintained. The pool and spa were a nice treat. The breakfast had many choices. Would definitely stay here again.

An older property that is exceptionally well maintained. Rooms are large and updated very clean and a friendly staff. Breakfast was reasonably good. Not enough seating in lobby for a busy morning.
- 4/5
The room was clean and opened to the bay, which was very nice. The location was not very convenient or safe to get around. The pool was nice but the hot tub was too crowded with kids to try out. The dinner we had at the Executive Suites next door was very reasonably priced and tasted great. The breakfast was served after we had to leave, so we couldn’t enjoy that.

The staff was courteous and professional. The room was clean spacious and comfortable. The bed was amazing! The view was wonderful. The bathroom was spotless and huge. All and all a wonderful stay!
- 3/5
Unfortunately, people who book here seem to like their marijuana. You smell it in the hallways. Also, the room had bootie funk in it. Housekeeping should be equipped with air freshener.
- 5/5
Location is close to freeway Parking fees with such a small parking lot with cost of rooms should be included with a stay of a suite.
- 5/5
It was clean and there was a mini fridge for our take out dinner. I didn’t love facing the city which was all tagged up.
- 4/5
Even though the hotel itself felt fine, each morning when I woke up and left the parking lot, I would see evidence of a lot of craziness having happened along the frontage road at night. I would see another freeway sign that had been smashed and run into by a racing car. Lots of glass and tire marks in the middle of the road, etc… I didn’t hear any of this at night, and no noise from neighbors. It was always quiet and relaxing in my room.
- 3/5
The hot tub jets did not work
- 2/5
We liked the rooms. Bathrooms were big. The breakfast was very weak. Eggs and sausages were cold! The oatmeal was nasty. The juices were watered down. We paid extra to have early check in and the roo8were not ready until 2:30 when regular check in was at 3. Kids wanted to swim in the pool but didn't feel comfortable going to the next door hotel.

Omg I luv the staff, the food, the bed, the space and of course the cute ship recks! Miss. Kim at the front desk is a GOD send. She was so nice and told us a few spots for food before our concert! She made our girls weekend absolutely amazing! I loved the breakfast, the comfy and clean rooms, the beds, how nice the staff was. Miss Kim is the best from the front desk.
- 4/5
The hotel is great. I did have a problem with my second key card which never worked even after getting it replaced. Other than that, it was quiet and peaceful.

- 3/5
Room was cleaned . Carpet with stains. Ice machine on my floor was broken. Daily breakfast with same items. Staff are professional. Location is ok. No public transportation. Gas stations within 2 miles. Starbucks within walking distance. Pub within a mile walk.
- 4/5
Large room and beautiful views. We had a water view room and the balcony was a nice feature. The staff were helpful but not extremely friendly. Parking on site was fine but we were confused about why they needed to block certain exits in the morning.
- 5/5
We loved our stay the room was always so clean and so comfortable to sleep and get rest. I loved the free breakfast so good and great coffee. The staff was always open and friendly to help if we had any questions or issues.
- 4/5
Nice view of the lagoon from the room. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is adequate, though I would prefer plain yogurt in individual cups. The air freshener in the room is a bit strong for my taste, but not a problem with some airing. On the whole I had a good experience and would stay there again.
- 4/5
Maybe next time the price on one car parking can be free fee
- 5/5
The room was in excellent condition, but the staff is what made the night.

- 5/5
Me & my partner have stayed here before, but this was the first time we had a balcony view room - ABSOLUTELY BEST DECISION!!!
- 2/5
I’m very disappointed about having my vehicle broken into and items stolen. This despite parking right in front in view of the staff/security and I suspect your employees tipped the thieves off. Luckily I removed my bike and more valuable items but it’s still a pain to have to replace the camping and truck gear that was taken. It’s not enough to make an insurance claim worthwhile given penalties and hassle. This sort of thing will keep me from ever using this hotel again on my business trips to the area. Your loss folks.
- 5/5
The room was large and clean. The staff were so nice. We will for sure stay here again
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Balcony was nice overlooking the water. Spent NYE here with my girls. Had a great stay!
- 5/5
The eoom was very SPACIOUS and spotless.
- 5/5
Excellent service, front desk staff. The beautiful view of the water is a plus, but I am critical of cleanliness. The best part about the Best Western Plus Bayside hotel is that it is very clean. I will be back.
- 4/5
Location is suspect. But the hotel, the staff, the inside.. as good and as clean as you can imagine.

- 5/5
The view from my room was nice. I don't eat pork so i wish there were other meat options for breakfast.
- 4/5
Very poor breakfast. They charge for parking but street parking is free right outside the hotel.

Staff is always corteus, rooms clean and great breakfast Ana amenities
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fine, and the location was good.
- 3/5
The room was clean, but the windows were filthy. The front of the hotel was very noisy due to traffic, however, walking out the back was very comfortable and had a walking path. Due to the inconvenient location I would not stay here again.

Nice amenities and clean rooms

- 4/5
Breakfast was good but would’ve enjoyed having sausages or bacon with the meal. Location was right next to the freeway so it’s convenient.
- 3/5
The bed sheets had a very bad smell the room overall is good thank you
- 4/5
Beautifull view
- 5/5
We are repeat visitors to this property because of cleanliness, comfort, beauty, and safety. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. This visit was because of a loved one’s funeral. I had some of the best sleep I’d had in a long time— something that can be difficult during periods of intense grief. The view of the Embarcadero is beautiful and comforting. This remains our preferred hotel for stays in the Bay Area.
- 3/5
Was scenic and could be nicer as the area was pretty rough the water view was nice other then the mattress along the shore. Room was clean and nice. Hot tub hets didnt work and had to goto the next hotel for the pool and hottub.
- 4/5
Hallway of level 3 smelled like pee.
- 5/5
Great breakfast and drink options and friendly staffs
- 5/5
Beautiful View
- 5/5
nice and clean rooms, good hearty breakfast, lovely view if you get a water-side room.
- 1/5
Room was large, clean, mostly comfortable and well appointed with good amenities. Especially loved the lighted make-up mirror. Bathroom tiles and sink had cracks, there was some kind of liquid stain on the bathroom wall, shower was tepid and no hot water in the sink, the mattress was hard and uncomfortable but the pillows were great. The property is clean and well maintained and the view of the estuary is beautiful. We arrived at 3:15 and was told our room would be ready in half an hour and they would text me. At 4:00, I went back to the front desk and was told it would be another 40 minutes. We were given our keys at 4:30 for a 3:00 guaranteed check-in. The front desk agents were kind and apologetic and offered what was in their scope to try and recover the situation, but it was beyond redeemable. I was traveling with my 89-year old mother who needed to rest and prepare for a family event at 5:00. We missed that event. I travel a lot and this is the absolute worst check-in I have experienced. When we first arrived, there were about half a dozen guests all waiting for their rooms. As they each got their rooms and other arriving guests got their’s, it was extremely frustrating to sit in the lobby for an hour and a half. The appalling check-in set the tone for this review, which might seem harsh since everything else was fine, but I am still mad about it.
- 5/5
Very good hotel
- 4/5
I have a lot to say about the Evening auditor. Never have I ever felt so disrespected and outright lied to about Company Policy to not give a guest Eating utensil to enjoy his meal in his room. First I was told " we don't have any forks" When I called her on it mentioning I ate breakfast with one! Then to next lie is giving guest a fork was against company policy. Lie after lie to keep from walking 20ft to the room off the dining hall where the utensils are kept. I will be contacting Your Corporate Office. I use Best Western and Bonvoy 200 times a year. I love that particular Hotel. But If I am going to be treated like a bum because I asked for a fork to enjoy a meal I bought from th Executive Suite Bar no less!!
- 5/5
Clean rooms and friendly staff, would recommend.
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
Overall it is a decent place to stay. Great views over the water if you get that side. Breakfast was decent morning fare you get at a hotel included. Generous rooms and comfortable bed. The one issue was hot water. First day I got it after 5 mins and the second it didn’t get above cool. It’s an Uber to Oakland or pretty much anywhere.
- 5/5
It was a great place for us it had all the amenities you needed for a stay away from home.
- 4/5
I loved the room and the view. Very clean but I did wake up with 8 bug bites don’t think they’re mosquito bites. Over than that it was a great stay.
- 4/5
Parking was easy. Check-in was easy. My room was furthest away from the elevators, so it was really nice to be that far apart, but it took some walking to get to. Fortunately, they had one set of elevators. I thought parking was free, but they do charge for parking at $17/night. It just wasn’t expected, especially given the fact there are no other parking opportunities available nearby or across the street. The room is old and has a late 1980’s -1990’s feel and decor. Surfaces were slightly sticky to the touch so I had to clean them off. Sofa and chairs did not look inviting to sit on as I questioned its cleanliness. It didn’t look Ike it had been cleaned in a long time. Curtains were stained and had small holes throughout. The view of the room was fantastic though. I got a Bay view which was nice. I think the patio door should have been more solid and noise reducing. You can hear highway traffic from your room, especially at night. I had to use noise-cancelling headphones to block the sound. The bathroom and living space had the occasional scout ant looking for food. It was worse in the bathroom between the tub and sink and on the corner of the toilet room door (which needs to be cleaned as it was sticky to the touch). Shower was excellent! Solid value.
- 5/5
What an unexpected surprise! We were traveling to visit family in Oakland with two adults and two 6 1/2-year-olds. Our double queen size room was huge and the pullout sofa even made it even better. The separated toilet was so helpful. The room was on the ground floor and our patio door opened up to a beautiful view of San Francisco Bay. The kids could run around on the grass outside and blow bubbles! The staff was outstanding. Not just cheerful, but also made sure we got everything we needed. Thank you to Mele, Kayla, Anahi and Daniela. They made our trip better than we expected. Note:there’s a navy base across the water and they blow revelry and taps each day. We are a military family, so that made us smile. Also, the pool and the hot tub were much enjoyed by the kids.
- 4/5
Staff is very good and on top of things. Breakfast was good. Did not like the road noise in our room, it was at the front of bldg facing highway and woke me several times at night in the 3 night stay.
- 5/5
didnot like the system of cleaning after 3 days of stay - the beds etc should be done everyday
- 4/5
Nice older hotel. Needs a little refresh, but biggest disapointment is watching staff walk past the huge trash pile near the picknik table and water's edge without even thinking to clean it up. Beautiful sunset, but hard to ignore the tragic garbage pile.
- 5/5
I just did not know they will charge me for parking too 😌
- 5/5
My only complaint is a design flaw in that the water closet light is on the outside and behind the door. Otherwise the place is very nice, spacious and has a lovely view of the sunset.
- 5/5
The Best Western was cool for our first stop. We stsyed there on our Cali road trip for a WNBA Valkyrie game. Clean facilities, breakfast was standard but tasty. Staff hospitable. All in all 9 out of 10.
- 5/5
Our stay was very comfortable, the staff was great, the room was very spacious and a nice view of the water. I would stay there again.
- 4/5
Very friendly staff. Clean room. Decent breakfast.
- 4/5
This hotel was very convenient to all of our activities in the San Francisco area. It was nice to be on the water, the room was clean, bed comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean. Breakfast was basic, but all we needed. Overall a good value.
- 4/5
Excellent hotel and staff. Everything was clean and top notch. Breakfast was great. The rooms were very quiet and comfortable. The only downside is we had to pay daily for parking.
- 5/5
What great view
- 5/5
Lovely rooms with water views and a spacious bathtub. Possibly our favorite Oakland hotel. DoorDash delivered to the door and we ate dinner in the balcony with sunset sparkling over the water.
- 3/5
Second stay was disappointing, we got there after midnight (I had called ahead to make them aware of our late check in) desk clerk was super unfriendly, we did not get not one smile from her, almost like she didn't care. Also as we were walking out to get our luggage, there was a guy walking the parking lot with a "call girl" which is something we didn't want to see being that we were staying there as a family. Also on our first day there, we left the room for a bit and when we came back to it there was a very potent weed smell, came from the vents maybe? Not sure, but that was disappointing.
- 3/5
I would say if you stay alone or with a partner okay to stay I would not stay with your family. Homeless people come in and get coffee and although hotel staff try to get them out they don’t get out. I thought it was a nice stay when I booked but it’s different when you get there. They charge you 17.00 addtl dollars for parking but there is no actually security just a ramp they put up after a certain hour !!! Our room didn’t get cleaned u til after the 3rd day we got fresh towels that’s all the hotel dryer didn’t dry properly. The toilet did not flush. If your there for an in and out then stay but not for long term - breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Easy access to the freeway
- 5/5
Had a great time. Room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was great!
- 5/5
I had the view of the water
- 5/5
One of my favorite places to stay at; I'm a loyal customer. Love the whole room and tub bathroom. Also, the breakfast!
- 5/5
The customer service was type tear when I couldn't find food place staff looked up in the area for me and gave me good directions......
- 5/5
Repeat customer, great hotel.
- 5/5
It was a nice experience
- 5/5
All good!
- 5/5
Very accomodating. Decent breakfast and allows for to go. Great view of water to do some work or to relax. Walking distance from starbucks and a great ramen place. Electric vehicle charging works great. Coffee and hot tea available all day. Rooms are clean and the location is decent. There are some homeless in the near vicinity but they mind their own business. Only complaint is the wifi does cut on and off.
- 2/5
Horrible house keeping. Never made the bed or refill the toilet paper. This location is located in a very sketchy area of Oakland. Breakfast was poor at best.
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Front desk staff was very nice.
- 4/5
Hotel was very clean and spacious on the inside. We had a nice view of the bay from our room. The area around the hotel isn’t the most inviting but we had no issues, and the hotel itself is nice.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus Bayside. Our room was spacious and clean, and we had a balcony. The breakfast was fine as well. The only issues we had: the toilets are waaayyy too low with no grab bar to help us get up. Also, on our second night, someone in the room above us was pacing around until after 3:00 AM. Otherwise, we were pleased with our stay.
- 5/5
This hotel was really a pleasant surprise...verynice, close to the water with tables and the little pier...loved it. The sister hotel withyhe great steak dinner was so convenient. I'll definitely stay at tbis hotel for my future Yoshi trips.
- 4/5
The employees were very helpful and nice. The property was beautiful next to the bay and breakfast was deliicious.
- 5/5
We love this quiet get away! Giant tub and the view from the private balcony is amazing!
- 5/5
Loved how big the room was!
- 3/5
Way too many homelessness in the area. I booked it because of the water view. But i definitely will not stay in this area again.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time very nice staff and great place to stay!
- 5/5
It is one of my favorite places to stay l only wish that they would service the jets that are still usable from room 192-197, when using them they shoot out dirt causing you to have dirty water.
- 5/5
This was our second time staying here and it's worked out perfectly for visiting Jack London Square for entertainment. The room with a couch is great and we had a view over the estuary. Breakfast had a lot of choices. Overall very nice.
- 4/5
Staff were friendly, rooms clean and the water view was beautiful at night!
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! From the check in, to the spacious rooms with a view, to the comfortable beds and furniture, clean and big bathroom, to the good, hot breakfast offered, this was a great stay! I'd stay here again, and highly recommended this location.
- 2/5
There was a brown stain on the carpet near the bathroom. I told the clerk as we were rusting to make our dinner reservation. When we got back to the room, the brown spot which appeared to be dried up fecal matter.
- 5/5
Bay front with nice view and convenient location
- 1/5

- 5/5
Great property on the river. Very new. Huge homeless encampment with literally a dump there one block wide - looks like 3rd world country is across the train tracks but maybe 1/2 mile away. Beautiful view. Great staff.
- 5/5
Clean, updated
- 5/5
Great
- 2/5
Beware there are signs that say facility has chemicals that cause cancer. When asked the front desk they got very defensive
- 5/5
Really nice hotel.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, especially the Bayside, the side facing Oakland is noisy...
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly
- 5/5
It was a nice property and the staff was very kind. We did take a bus and had to walk over the highway through a tough area so stay by the water or take an uber.
- 5/5
Nicer than expected inside. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Friendly and great customer service
- 5/5
The room was clean and the area was quiet. Front desk was great help. They recommended places to eat. When it came to check in, we were able to check in early.
- 5/5
Comfortable, clean breakfast, charge 20.00 for parking
- 5/5
We were allowed to upgrade to a room away from the highway, adding a quieter experience.
- 3/5
Not so,friendly staff
- 3/5
Staff are friendly. Clean room.First room was a little smelly, but we were able to switch room the next day. Same breakfast every day. No coffee machines. If you need decaf, go get it from Starbucks, which is 10 minutes walk. Their coffee pods is just OK. Parking is good, for $17 a day.
- 5/5
I like it
- 5/5
This is such a fantastic hotel. We loved the full service breakfast every morning, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. The view out the back was fantastic, I only wish the pool and hot tub were closer.
- 5/5
Kim and staff are amazing!!! Love their customer service and attention to detail. Very pleased!
- 5/5
Fridge with microwave. Coffee maker had the pods. Balcony was overlooking water very nice quiet and relaxing view. All in all very good. The price was 170 well worth it compared to a 110 downtown Oakland and almost forgot free parking and no homeless around. Thank you Best Western and staff.
- 5/5
A gem! I will refer my family & friends when they come into town. Breakfast was tasty too!
- 4/5
Each room has a patio or balcony that outlooks the water

Room was so cute, clean, and comfortable. The only downside is that the doors, they were terrible to open with the key card and the outside door didn't even open with the card we had to be let in my another guest at the side door coming from the pool. Also the pool and hot tub are not in the building. Its in he next building over, so prepare to leave your building and go to the next one over. Otherwise, everything was clean, and had a romantic aura. Great for couples or solo relaxation

The water view side is fabulous on a sunny day if you have a room on 2nd or 3rd floor. Love the bathtub and shower combo and they actually have a sliding door closet. Need to update their usb ports though and have some on the end tables next to the bed

Fridge was leaking when we arrived. Dead ants on the baseboard. Bed skirt had looks like old food on it, throw pillows had stains. Supposed to be a bar and restaurant that wasn't opened during our stay. The main reason for our stay there. We had business in San Francisco where we could have stayed. We was given drink and food coupons that couldn't be used. Was told we would get a 15% off our room that didn't happen. The view from our room of the lake was very nice. Had to go to the hotel next door for breakfast. Breakfast was good.

The stay and view was amazing! The only downsides were the bathroom sink leaked a bit whenever I washed my head, one of the lights in the room flickered a bit, and for some reason the bathroom door jammed and I was locked in there for about 3-5 mins. My being looked in the bathroom was hilarious so I didnt think to complain and the view made up for the other issues. The view is breathtaking and this was the first time those other issues happened. I always choose to stay at that hotel any chance I get.

One of our favorite hotels when we go to the Bay Area it’s convenient location, beautiful balcony facing the water. We absolutely love the shower and the big tub in the bathroom and of course free breakfast in the morning

Breakfast at the other hotel. Coffee machine broken again. Staff are friendly. Parking is expensive with no security on duty. Neighborhood is a bit shady. Oakland is definitely getting worse every time I visit.

Beautiful waterfront hotel with a full bath and balcony on the water. Great breakfast options and very clean. I’ve stayed at their sister hotel many times when traveling to the bay area and this hotel was just as wonderful as the Executive Inn and Suites next door. One of my favorite places to stay and doesn’t feel like Oakland at all. It feels like a mini vacation!

The room above me was noisy until 3 or 4am and the front desk acted like I had a problem when I asked them to please talk with the guests about quieting down. After no improvement an hour later I asked for a different room just so that I could sleep. The overnight manager treated me with disgust as she handed the keys to me and told me to move my belongings. I gave up and stayed in my room - lost 3-4 hours of sleep. Lesson learned - stay on the top floor.

The hotel was nice and clean, but smelled like weed constantly. It says there is a pool and continental breakfast, but it does not say that it is at the hotel next-door. You are also charged $17 a night to park your car and they warn you there’s a chance it’ll get broken into because it’s an issue there.

This hotel is in a great location, has very good sized rooms and has an excellent staff! It desperately needs updating and greater attention to cleanliness. But, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
