The hotel is generally disappointing with a dated and run-down property. The staff's attitude and service are inconsistent, ranging from pleasant and helpful to rude and unaccommodating. The location is convenient, but the rooms and facilities are old and poorly maintained, with cleanliness being a significant concern for many guests.

A couple of Locals here. This Red Lion is a good spot - near highways and not too far from downtown Bellevue. The staff are 5 Star folks; friendly and kind. Really the only issue holding them back is that they charge for overnight parking, which is just a $15-20 gouging that is not warranted for the area it is in. Especially considering that they have plenty of parking lot and are technically not in an urban or city area that would justify charging customers a surprising fee for such a vacant parking lot. The $15-$20 we saved on the nightly rate we ended up paying the hotel. Not a big deal but customers care about the little fees you add to “us”.

I was very concerned and disgusted when I noticed several cobwebs in the corner near the floor closest to the window. If you're looking for a modern hotel, this one is not it. Popcorn ceilings, wall paper on the walls and regular lamps with no plugs on them. Speaking of plugs, I had to plug my phone in in the bathroom because there were no extra outlets on my side of the bed. The lamp and the alarm clock occupied the one plug on my side. The TV was updated but for some reason we had to hold it down for like 10 seconds for it to come on. And 10 seconds for it to turn off. Fridge and microwave seemed okay but we did not use them much. Bring your own sleep mask if you want to keep it dark longer in the mornings because the curtains let in plenty of light in the morning.

Google took us to the back of the place and there were no signs pointing to the lobby. There are no room numbers on the doors to make it easier to find the rooms. Please improve signage. Everything else was good.

I stayed in room 274 it’s directly across from the ice machine and vending machine. there is no partition to help with the sound. There was people getting ice at all hours. It was anwful. Also the vending machine says $2 for drinks with cash but the up charge to use a card is $5 and they blocked the cash hole. So $7 for a drink but it was sold out of water anyways. Front desk vending was also sold out of water. Room was a little dingy but overall clean and staff was polite.

Red Lion was fantastic twenty years ago it was THE place to stay. What happened to it I dunno but boy what a disappointment in Seattle. No restaurant and included breakfast the toaster didn’t work and breakfast was cello wrapped cheap energy bars. No housekeeping…fresh towels required a request at the front desk and linens were not changed in four nights unless you requested at the front desk. Poorly maintained and no services whatsoever. What happened to RedLion??????

Check in and check out was quick and easy. We had the best sleep we had in months. The breakfast in the morning was one of the better grab and go breakfasts we have enjoyed. Windows rattled from traffic, big dog barking all night across from me. After staying a few nights when I asked to move I was told I would have to check out and wait until 4 to check back in. I know that is not true as my former travelling companion was moved without a problem. Property run down but staff usually nice. Housekeeping very nice.

The location of the hotel is nearby or walkable to areas of shopping and food. There are ample parking too. Breakfast was horrible and I wish that it could be something good even if its small variety. All pastries are not good and even the butter and spread. I feel sad of wasting them. I find most of what they have are unhealthy. If you are bringing kids, I'd say bring them their food or go somewhere else. Our heater/airconditioning was not working, We were told to wait before it adjusts but it never worked. We were tired and just let it be.

the room smelled like urine. the bathroom wasn't clean. there is a space between the bathroom cabinets and the sink counter top of about 2 ish inches. the amount of debris that has accumulated there is absolutely disgusting. the shower head spray is so wide on one of the settings that it almost hits the entire floor, plus the bathtub, plus the adjacent wall. you can tell that this has caused water damage to the doors and floors. the sheets were thankfully clean and I didn't see any bedbugs because that was my first thought just based on the smell. thankfully I only stayed for one night. I don't personally think that the rooms issues are due to staff, it just seems like an old hotel that hasn't been maintained or upgraded since the 80s and the staff are doing their best with a bad situation.

So we stayed at this property a few years ago and it was great they had the best breakfast. Well this was a completely different experience this property charges you $15 a day to have your car parked, no valet or gated parking garage just their lot… I’ve never heard of hotels doing this other than valet or a gated property. When we checked in they did not state that it would be $15 a day, when we filled out the paper of what car we had we thought that was for towing unauthorized vehicles… Then they clap back saying I should have read what I was signing, name one other hotel with a normal parking lot that charges you?!?thats insane. This isn’t the ritzcarlton this is a pro dunk redlion. They also do not have breakfast buffet anymore just grab an go single item. Will not book again.

No true handicap access because the parking access is full of holes and crack bumps it’s not safe for cane, walker, or chair. Ice upstairs and no elevator so also ADA noncompliant. The lawn had at least six piles of dog feces aging in long grass. We love that they allow pets but there should be a pet area or bags or maintenance. Dead batteries in the tv remote and there was no staff to bring more without leaving the front desk unattended. One small set of towels for two people. Worst concern was that the room couldn’t be fully secured because the latches on the screen and slider were both broken. The flimsy bar across was easily dislodged with a small amount of jiggling. The good: Bed was comfortable. There is a fridge and microwave in the room.

I called before I booked a stay here to confirm if i can have early check in (1 day before ) they said no problem at all and asked what time i would be checking in and room. Once i arrived, they wanted to charge me $75 to check in 2 hours early. When the whole room was $85, after I explained i was never told this, the guy didnt care and didnt do anything. I sat in the lobby to look at more places because after the rude guy and what happened, i would be damned if i paid another $75 for a room there, I looked down and had two ants crawling on me so i stood up and saw 2 more on the chairs. I got out of there quick and filed a dispute with my credit card

I feel like if you’re going to have a hotel in Bellevue Washington, you should be matching the vibe of Bellevue Washington. It’s literally an eyesore in the middle of a beautiful city. It is horribly outdated. That carpet in that room had to be 50 years old. Yes, the beds were comfortable, but they might as well have been twin beds. They were so tiny. The TV had no sound and nobody managed the noise issue. There was a full on sorority party in the room next door till 3 AM. And why charge for parking you had more parking in that lot than the entire city combined.

They supposedly wash the sheets and switched them out but we found a piece of hair that I think was from in the groin area with hair with lice. Luckily we checked the bed before jumping into bed. The floors going into the rooms were filthy and had crumbs everywhere. I personally didn’t feel comfortable wearing no shoes in the room itself. The rooms have a sore smell/stench. There was a yellow stain on the wall which I didn’t want to look at it too much before getting very disgusted. We only booked due to just needing a 1 night stay for only a few hours of sleep. When we mentioned the front desk about the hair with a big issues, she immediately apologized and switched us rooms. She was very kind and understanding. However it’s one of those things that you get what you pay for. We have stayed here about 3 times but this last time has done it and we won’t continue to stay here anymore.

Seemed falsely advertised. When I was looking for a room, it started saying that they had a room available for $64.00, and made a point to say “this is the full price you pay” with an arrow indicating the price. However….when I went to the next step, the price jumped from $64.00, to over a hundred. THEN….when I got to the property to check in, I was informed that they take a fifty dollar deposit fee on top of the price I was already quoted to begin with. On top of that, they also informed me that they charge for parking on their property, since we had 2 vehicles, the charge per vehicle would be $15.00, which they automatically paid out of the deposit in which I learned about when I arrived at the property to check in. Very misleading details on the charges listed online. Expecting someone to pay $15.00 for parking, is ridiculous. They did not even offer a pillow and blanket for my car. I’m not even sure how secure the parking lot is that they charge so much for guests to park.

We enjoyed it, but a waffle would have been good. It was disappointing to see that the hallway carpets looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a very long time & most of the glass entry doors were filthy. Our room seemed ok clean, it is an older hotel. Would I stay there again, maybe if I was able to get it at a cheap rate again through Expedia

There was an old chewed on apple core on the table in the entry. The desk chair was missing from the work table. The front desk was notified but said no-one was available to help with either problem. I had to borrow a chair from another guest. The coffee at breakfast was not hot. The breakfast was all prepackaged microwave food.

The staff makes Red lion stand apart from other value options in the area. It is a well-kept property with easy access to the freeway as well as downtown Bellevue. They have a good gym, great to go breakfast with 1-2 healthy options, swimming pool, and open courtyard area. Easy to take free shuttle into the city and walkable. The amenities are also decent with spacious rooms. Safe for solo female travelers and good value for business trips.

We arrived at 3:30 and we needed a room on the ground floor because there is no elevator and we are 2 seniors who have a difficult time with carrying luggage up stairs. A room wasn’t clean so the front desk clerk attempted to contact housekeeping but couldn’t find them at first. Then when she did she asked that our room be a high priority. So the room was cleaned, but housekeeping didn’t inform the front desk until they were eventually contacted again and confirmed it was ready. So we waited over an hour for the room. The room was ok, but definitely dated as was the entire hotel.

I have been coming to this hotel with my Japanese customer for stays in Bellevue over the last four years about every 6-8 weeks. My Japanese customers arrive in the morning after a 10 hour flight and most of the time have been able to check in early. This time the hotel charged us $75 to check in early. It seems a gouge if you have rooms ready, you are being charged $117 a night, then they charge you $75 for four hours. Plus taxes so $85+ to check in four hours early. I guess you get what you pay for, but this up charge on repeat customers was a bit much.

There was a smooshed French fry in the hallway carpet that wasn’t vacuumed the three days we were there. The back screen door wasn’t attached and the sliding door has seen better days. The best parts were the beds were comfortable and there were a lot of charging ports by the bed. I would look somewhere else when we come back.

For the price of the place I wouldn’t expect a giant spider to be walking across the room in the middle of the night. Took 15 min to exterminate the beast after he went under the bed. The carpets are pretty tore up and stained along with some stained bathroom mirrors. Had good water pressure and a mini fridge. WiFi was decent when it worked. When we asked for more they said they didn't have any extras but they were able to bring us some the next morning. We asked for room service and they said we had to request that the night before but they did replace our towels and gave us a garbage bag so we could take out our own trash. Among the many things that contributed to the decision of never staying there again here are a couple: The first thing that must be mentioned is the toilet. It was brutal. I’m a fairly tall person and the toilet was made for a child, I’ll leave that to your imagination. And most importantly it wouldn’t flush. You’d have to hold the flusher handle for the whole time to empty the reservoir and it still wouldn’t clear the bowl. It was too frustrating. Lots more to say, but maybe just one more point for now; At the checkin point I was hit with a parking fee. I think it was 16.50/night. The place was low end hotel with more than ample available parking. I was a bit surprised to say the least. It felt like a resort fee kinda thing. I was not aware prior that I was going to be paying for parking. One more item for this short list, the hallways were atrocious. Multiple bags of garbage being left outside room doors. There’s more …

I stayed five days here. The bed was comfortable. However, there was mold growing in the bathrooms and the wall paper was peeling. Outlets for charging were hard to find. I moved my bed searching for a place to plug in my laptop and the wall outlet was charred, like a small fire occurred there. The only place to plug in was the desk area and that had a series of extension cords that also plugged in the refrigerator. Breakfast was a joke. Options were bread and more bread the first two days of my stay. As it got closer to the weekend frozen breakfast sandwiches became available and fresh fruit. I ended up purchasing breakfast items at the store, an extra expense I hadn’t planned on because of their advertising. Large dogs barking apparently is a thing when sports fans come to town and leave animals alone in the rooms. Overall, not the experience I’m used two. I would recommend paying the extra money and go to a place that will actually have some pride in their service and not cut corners. I couldn’t believe the electrical situation. It was sketchy.

It is obvious that the owners of this hotel are interested in bleeding every penny they can out of the place while putting nary a nickel into it. This hotel is not at all inexpensive. It’s just so run down for the money. In our room (140) alone, the sad, old hair dryer doesn’t work, the old A/C unit rattles, the bathroom exhaust fan is dead, there’s no soap in the shower, they didn’t have housekeeping make up our room between the days of our stay, no fresh towels were available, the old blinds leaked light like a sieve, and the shower drain was clogged. Need I go on? The place is just old, worn, and tired. At $50 per night this hotel would be fine. For what they charge it’s a ripoff.

the complimentary breakfast is really bad. What the hotel provide include snack bar, one frozen sandwich ( each customer is limited to one and you need to use microwave to defroze/heat it up) +yogurt + banana/apple. Nothing is freshly cooked.

I was not happy that I could not check in earlier and I also did not like getting charged for parking when they have a huge parking lot for a lot of parking. I will not recommend staying here to anyone and I will not stay here again myself

Hotel was way older than I anticipated, bathroom felt a little sketchy like I should keep sandals on. There wasn’t a breakfast but a “grab and go”microwavable breakfast sandwich or fruit option. It did the job, but it wasn’t a meal for a family on the road. The pool was fun for the kids, right by our room so that was nice!

The parking fee surprised us a bit, but everything else was great. The grab and go breakfast was surprisingly good, too.

July 2025. Wifi was good, cleanliness of room was good, shower water pressure was great, water was hot. A/C took forever to cool down the room (like one degree an hour, no joke) (I was in room 219). I put on the do-not-disturb doorknob tag for the first two days, then left it off for the third, then came back the third night and saw room service hadn't stopped by. So I called them and requested room service for the fourth day, and the front desk said requests are for the following day (meaning they'd stop by day 5). They asked if I wanted "Linens changed or a light refresh" and I said "a light refresh" (because our bed sheets were still good and instead I was concerned about the trash and lack of coffee). So I get back to the room the night of day 5 and literally all that was done was they walked in and left some more bath towels. No re-ups on coffee or hand soap bars or cups or anything like that. No trash taken out. Old towels were not taken away. It was baffling that that's what they would consider a "light refresh room service". There is on-the-go breakfast but we opted for the "20% off" dine-at-the-hilton tickets, which was walkable. Beds were very comfortable. Great price for what you get (minus room service), but maybe bring earplugs, because you never know who else will be staying here, and I'm not sure if it's thin walls or floors or windows, but some guests were very noisy during the night.

The 4pm check in with no option for early check in was a pain as had a concert to be at for 5:30pm. People were getting ready in the lobby washrooms.

Enjoyed our stay, only problem was the room was outdated. There were no outlets so I was not able to plug in my cpap machine for my sleep apnea. The pool was the only highlight

Room was great, area was convenient for our trips purpose. The check is different I booked almost 6 months in advance and requested early check in when I reserved. We arrived an hour before check in, and asked for our room, the front desk employee had an attitude and just seemed mostly annoyed she told us we would have to wait til 4 no big deal, but attitude was also not necessary. My foot is broken and I was using a knee scooter. When we finally were able to check she sent us to a room at the back of the hotel, which is fine, but when I asked the easiest way to get there she directed me on a path which required stairs. Slightly frustrating check in experience. Other than that the room was great, beds were comfy.

Good for yhe age of property. Toliet height makes it hard on the knees for older guest. Recommend updating height. And the breakfast bar should have more options. Variety of food..

Overall, the stay was alright. Not the cleanest rooms by any means but nothing too concerning. However, our door did randomly stop locking in the middle of our stay. The staff was really responsive and fixed the issue within the hour after we noticed, it was just off putting not knowing how long the door was unlocked, and anyone could have walked into our room, especially being 2 young women.

The carpets in the halls were extremely dirty, there was trash piled up and an old wood crate around the door when I first walked in, made it feel extra dirty. The room itself was clean, bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice, as long as I was in the room it was fine. Also I got in early and tried to check in at 3:00, staff was not willing to help at all even kind of laughed at me. Rude
