Tortuga Inn Beach Resort

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Tortuga Inn! Everything exceeded our expectations. The beach was beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. Our room was very comfortable, spotless, and well maintained. The ocean view was breathtaking, and having a lovely dock right behind the property made the scenery even more special. The jacuzzi was a wonderful extra that made our stay even more enjoyable and relaxing. The swimming pools were always clean, inviting, and perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach. Overall, the atmosphere was quiet, welcoming, and exactly what we were looking for. We truly enjoyed every moment and would definitely love to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing beachfront getaway! 🌴☀️🌊

Amazing stay. Clean rooms very friendly staff and a 2 minutes walk to the beach right across the street.

WE liked that it was close to the beach and there were many good restaurants near by.

2 notes: 1. There isn't anywhere to hang things up. It would be nice to have some hooks, a drying rack or even a clothesline out on the patio for wet things. 2. The bed frame was too big for the room and there was a tight squeeze to get to the bathroom - quite a few bruises on my hip from that. A simpler bed frame would get another 6 inches of clearance in that room that would make a huge difference. Other than that, we loved everything about this nostalgic little resort and would definitely come back.

Had a lovely stay. The property is well maintained and had everything we needed - even a beach bag in the room! Being able to check in early was a big plus too! The staff is so welcoming and helpful. Location is perfect with the beach right across the street. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance. We will definitely be back!

Love the location! Close to the beach, pool, etc. Beds were great, unit was fully stocked and the furniture was nice. The only downside was the blinds/curtains in our unit (121). They offer no privacy and we were on a very busy first floor unit.

Our first time experiencing Anna Maria Island and the accommodations could not have been better. Very clean, comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the beach vibe!

The room was decent. Nice bed with cold air. The sheets were sandy upon arrival so I don’t think they were clean. The kitchen has stuff but very very minimal. Use the dollar store or Publix on the island. Nice beach. Did not use the pool, we left a day early due to the people above us being loud. There is no “front desk per se” 9-5 you can go to the office for pool towels.

Beach was awesome location perfect

We stayed in room 260. The room was amazing and an easy walk across the street to the beach. Room was clean and elegant. Staff was very accommodating and nice. Great customer service. Only thing is this room does need new shower heads which we did address to the staff. We were very happy with our stay.

Excellent location with pavilion on beach across the street. Beach lounge chairs and beach umbrellas provided. Jetted tub wasn’t working when arrived which concerned me if it was cleaned properly. A/C never controlled the temperature in the room below 76 degrees. Tub wasn’t fixed next day quickly. We were able to see manatee off the bay dock. Had a great stay and would book here again.

We arrived late and check in was a breeze. The unit was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The air conditioner is an older hotel style a/c unit effective but a little dated. They had nice amenities that included a beach umbrella which was nice. We loved the kitchenette and the proximity to the beach. The few things to note that we were not crazy about: the walls are paper-thin, you can hear everything. If you have a shred courtyard, there is no privacy if you are sitting outside. Another thing to note is that the beach is across a busy street. This is the same for almost all hotels in this area but it is something that surprised us. We had a great stay, we will be back, but we will be requesting an end unit!

There are many different sizes and types of rooms at Tortuga Resort on Anna Maria, so pay close attention to the room description and location. We had a large, condo type room that was great, with a lanai and a view of the bay! The kitchen was large and had everything you needed. Table for six. Everything was clean. There are multiple pools and they have their own beach front, though you do need to cross the street, as you do with most of the resorts on the southern part of the island. Chaise lounges on the beach; plenty of beach towels; umbrellas provided in the rooms; wonderful sunsets; at least four restaurants within walking distance. Pavilion on beach seems wheelchair accessible. Old Florida feel, which I like. We will return!

Loves our stay. Clean, cute and very spacious villa. Very easy access to the beach across the street and lots of ding option in town a couple of blocks away, very walkable.

Everything was great

The room its self was nice and clean but the toilet was very low to the floor and the bed was very uncomfortable! The hotel property was definitely worn and in need of repair and lots of painting would help the main building has some rotten wood that needs replaced basically the hotel needs a face lift. The staff was nice and friendly

We reserved 268 and it was great. Way bigger than needed for 2 adults and 1 teen boy. My only suggestion is having laundry soap there would have been nice. Also, the coffee brand is extremely weak. I drink black and my husband drinks it with cream and sugar. Bed was super comfortable and my son liked the pull out sofa. The cushions could use a steam clean. Overall with close access to the beach and back pier for fishing great location. Try Salt for dinner 5 minute drive delicious.

Best deal on the island! We loved the private beach across the street (beach chairs and towels too)! Trolley stops are steps away and the staff was great! Perfect location to Bradenton Beach Pier.

Gorgeous, old-school property with renovated rooms. Some face the beach, some face the bay, and some are in between. Small pool up front for kids, with a quiet pool hidden away. Plenty of nice towels provided, along with beach loungers, beach umbrellas, and sand toys for kids. Easy crossing to very nice beach and a pergola if you prefer to stay out of the sun. Our unit (167) was a nicely equipped 2 bdrm, 2 bath apartment with a partial balcony view of the bay. Parking was easy right under the building.

My stay here was for 2 days. The location of the hotel is good. It’s just opposite the beach and have lot of restaurants and shopping within 2 mins of walking. The guests are provided with beach chairs and they need to carry the chairs / umbrella to and fro from the room to the beach. Unlike the adjacent hotel which provides beach chairs already setup on the beach. The pool is clean and heated. The rooms are clean and spacious. Only downside is they have no room service so the room cleaning is not done during the entire stay. If a guest wants their room cleaned they have to pay separately and reserve a spot a day before. This is something new which I have not come across anywhere and it’s not mentioned while booking / reserving the hotel for the stay. The laundry is complimentary. although old but does the work.

Great little cozy spot. I traveled solo and the room was perfect for me! Full kitchen, nice sized shower and bathroom, comfortable bed and the location is superb!

Pros - short walk across the street to the beach where lounge chairs were available, really good umbrella was provided in the room, fresh towels available anytime at the office. Cons - it would have been nice to have some kind of hooks to hang clothes as there was no closet in our unit, small patio table and chairs were not only dirty but paint spattered. Minor problems to a great stay.

Great location, everything was perfect. Only thing lacking with room 242 is the living room seating is not a couch, they are similar to outdoor day beds that are extremely stiff & small so there isn’t anywhere to relax after a long day in the sun. The master bedroom bed is also not very comfortable, but other than that everything was great if those two things were fixed we would rate this a 10/10 but will give a 7/10 due to uncomfortable seating and bed

No refund for first night even though our flight was cancelled because of the worst blizzard to hit nj in 20 years! Nail in tire from construction debris! Uncomfortable bed. Very noisy road noise. Management very hard to get in touch with. Ruined our short vacation. Just dreadful

The room was very clean. There was a lot of construction on our roof but we still had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend.

The ongoing construction was supposed to have minimal impact but that was not the case. Construction equipment diesel fumes and noise prevented the use of our lanai and blocked our view of the bay. Construction began at 7am and continued until 6pm. With a large dumpster directly below our unit, the noise was horrendous. This unit should not have been rented during the current phase of construction.

We have stayed before and absolutely love Tortuga Inn! But basically 1/3 of the pool seating was gone due to roof work and pieces of roofing sprayed all over the pool area. Parking was made much more difficult by tons of construction trucks. Noise was not contained to working hours as we were told it would be (well into the evening). One day we were awoken by the fire sirens at 6:30am, which took a long time to be turned off and woke my small children for the day… and then never received any update on what happened, which is not comforting as a fire truck was present several times during our stay. Truly we love the location, rooms, cleanliness, amenities, it’s a wonderful inn, but these things did impact our experience of our vacation.

The amenities of the condo and the cleanliness. Loved the location to restaurants and the beach The pool was closed for 3 days of our 7, to redo the floor around the pool. We didn’t know this before hand, and that really stunk to not have. The ice machine also didn’t work, we were told at check in that it was being worked on that day and would be up and running that afternoon. The machine was broken the entire trip leaving us to buy ice.

The location was fabulous. It is not directly on the beach but an extremely short walk...steps to a private beach. Everything you need is within walking distance. The pool area was so clean and set up so nice and the water was warm. :) The white san beaches were spectacular and the ocean was beautiful. It could have been a tad bit warmer...but you are not really in control of tha!

This place is a great place to stay. The location is great. We walked to a lot of different things. Our room was very clean and had everything needed for a short stay. Our only issues were the bed was not very comfortable and a night light outside our room made it seem like it was daylight all hours other than those small things we would definitely go there again

The room was very nice, clean and well decorated. It had everything we needed. Absolutely perfect except for the shades on the windows and door. They let in WAY too much light at nighttime.

Lovely property. Our 2 bed/2 bath condo was clean, well appointed and the kitchen was well stocked with essentials. The grounds are beautiful with direct beach access. There is a trolley stop on front of the property making travel very convenient. Would definitely book another stay.

The condo was cute. The pools were nice. The beach was great. The only issue we had was the toilet didn't work when we got there, the bath tub backed up, and the sink backed up. We had to use the unit next door for the bathroom. Luckily it was vacant. There was no money back for the inconvenience. Will stay somewhere else next time. Toilet, tub, and sink not working.

My family was looking for an opportunity to enjoy a slower paced Florida beach town without the neon lights of tourism. We have definitely found it here on Bradenton Beach. We routinely stay at brand name hotels but Tortuga Inn Beach Resort provided a family atmosphere rather than feeing like we were at a hotel. It was exactly what our family needed from the moment we were welcomed at check-in to the moment I returned the keys at check-out. Our 2 bedroom suite was the perfect place to relax and enjoy family game night, watch the sunrise in the mornings and provided quick access to the beach directly across the street with the private beach access. We could not have asked for a better experience. We will most definitely look to plan another family get away at Tortuga Inn Beach Resort.

This property went through hurricane damage. They are in the middle of cleaning it up. That said, our unit was extremely clean. It had all of the appliances and anything we needed. The only complaint is that we brought our dog and there was no grass or areas to walk him. Otherwise, the staff and everything else was enjoyable.

The location of the Tortuga Inn is excellent — definitely the best thing about this hotel. The room was very clean when we arrived, although we didn’t request housekeeping during our three-night stay. However, the room itself leaves much to be desired: the air conditioner is old and doesn’t cool enough, and the freezer section of the refrigerator was completely frozen over due to lack of maintenance. The common areas were also poorly maintained: there were puddles of water in the hallways that no one cleaned up, and overall the upkeep is terrible. This has nothing to do with any storms or hurricanes in the area — it’s simply basic care that’s missing. On top of that, the photos and the promotion they use do not match reality. The only thing that really saves this place is its excellent location and the fact that the room was clean when we arrived.

The location and the amenities was very good even the property was quite old but we love here very much. The things not so impressed was the staff not helping for some questions make our group a hard time about the day to check out. We have a dolphin tour 9-11. We ask for out at noon they say they don’t know have to call that morning. How can we do that. You open 9:00 we on the boat if you say no what can we do. It only one hour and we are in big room. I think you should give us a little convenience.

Excellent information at the front desk. Restaurant recommendations were greatly appreciated! We ate at 3 of the restaurants. Trolley service was great. Slept great. We really appreciated the umbrella, brought our own chairs.

My first time in Ana Maria Island and I love it. Tortuga Inn was excellent no complaints. In the middle of the island and close to everything and Trolley was perfect to get around.

Definitely will return to this place. We rented the two bedroom, two bathroom suite and it was perfect! East walk to the beach.

Unable to get the room we booked and had a 2nd floor queen bed room instead of the King room we wanted. The bed was too soft. The pillows were king size and too big for the bed. Toilet did not flush well. No exhaust fan for shower.

Great location by beach

I did not like the fact we could not make it cooler in our unit. We could not go below 70!! In order to get a GREAT night sleep, the room temp should be at least at 67! I did not like being woken at 8:30 every morning do to construction and the the pool guy would come some times 10-20 minutes early to lock off the pool. Our time zone is an hour behind so making adjustments to our "not being able to sleep in on vacation" did not happen at all! The coffee pot broke, but we went ahead and bought another one for the room as it occurred on our first morning, and we had about 5 more mornings to go. The sign hanging on the hall way to rooms kept falling down as well. I would also recommend to bring an air mattress for the pull out bed within the couch because is was not worth sleeping on!!

Perfect location - just walk across the street and you're at the beach, or walk back to hang out at one of the pools! Nice accommodations, everything we needed. They provide a beach umbrella, chairs, and you just pop in to the office to get beach/pool towels every day. Pool was beautiful and warm - kids loved it! We loved the separate sleeping area for the kids. The Inn was hit hard by the hurricanes; the first floor was gutted and is under major construction. It wasn't too noisy or obvious, but there were some fluke-y things. One bedroom didn't have a working light; when we got there, we had no water and needed to call maintenance. They were responsive, though, fixed it quickly and explained that it could happen because of the construction. I do wish we'd been forewarned, but it is what it is! We're glad they're coming back strong and would absolutely stay again.

Love the location and proximity to the beach. The deck on the beach is a great option on a windy day when the sand was blowing fiercely. The pool is clean and quaint. The queen bed was very comfortable. The overall condo was dated and and a bit worn out. The furniture was stained and kinda yucky. It would have been good to be told that the entire first floor was being renovated and that construction would start early and go all day on weekdays. The deck chairs at the pool were really uncomfortable. The chaise lounges at the beach were really dirty. Maybe a little bit more oversight for rowdy neighbors.

Great location!

I booked Tortuga before the hurricane and did wonder what it was going to be like in March. Well , I had nothing to worry about. Beautiful rooms with everything you could need. The pool was beautiful and so we're the grounds. It was only after a couple of days I realised they were doing work on planted areas and then I realised the downstairs accommodation was still being renovated! Wow! They were doing it in such a way that you didn't even notice. No noise, no materials outside. What a fantastic job they are doing. Would definitely recommend it. Perfect place, perfect location. Well done Tortuga.

The hotel was lovely, staff was great, pool was clean, warm and updated. Although, the pool maintenance came at 5 while the whole pool area was filled and told us all to leave. That shoulddnt have happened. Our little studio was very clean and set uptime but the bed was HORRIBLE! They need a new mattress and chairs. It is time!

I would suggest some kind of safety bar in the shower. It's a big shower, and can get slippery.

Definite hurricane damage but the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable. Private beach with beach chairs provided. Located next to a jet ski rental which was great. The main pool is not back and running yet but there is still one to use. Very very clean room

Great pools and overall relaxed vibe. 1 minute walk to the beach and around 5-10 minutes to get to Bridge Street so really convenient location. Parking throughout the hotel made it really easy to unpack and settle in. Never struggled to get back into a space if we used the car too. Staff are friendly and willing to help.

We have been here multiple times. Every time we have been here it was clean and friendly. The pool areas are always in good order and it is walkable easily to bridge St with a nice beach set up as well. We have never been disappointed in a stay here.

Apartment was very clean, quiet, conveniently located across the beautiful beach and many walkable dinning options.

Our first stay at this location. Our daughter had stayed there before years ago.We got a large 2 bdrm suite room for 6 people, 2 full bathrooms with double shower heads in the showers.Nice screened patio. very quiet. Partial water view. Very nice.

Unit 256 was very nice, with a lanai and access to a semi-private jacuzzi. The view at sunrise was breathtaking! While the unit is quiet and secluded on the second floor, I would not recommend it for folks with mobility problems due to the steep staircase.

Place was amazing close to everything we had an amazing experience staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was clean pool was clean and they had the beach right Accross the st. Beach is beautiful we will definitely be back again

When we booked this place it looked too good to be true. In reality it was better than we could have imagined. Bathrooms were incredible. Washer and dryer were outstanding. Full kitchen full of every utensil imaginable. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. SCREENED IN PORCH to keep the bugs out. We will be booking the same room from NOW ON. VERY VERY HAPPY.

Enjoyed our stay, the property was very clean. The beach was conveniently located and even though it was a holiday weekend it wasn't overly crowded on the beach.

The only concern is about the mattress of the master bedroom is not the best! Needs to be replace !

It’s the second time we stay at Tortuga inn. We loved it both times and plan to come back. It’s a perfect short walk to the beach. It’s close to many good restaurants. The rooms are very spacious and the staff is very courteous.

Parking was tight, had to move my car just so a big truck could back out. Liked that we could cross directly across for beach access. They say chairs provided but they keep them locked up and if you want to go out early you can’t if you are depending their chairs. Noticed the placed next to us had someone take all their chairs out and lined them up. Also they take te up early so don’t plan on sitting on their chairs after 8

Second year having a pleasant time with the family , we loved and recommended Tortuga Resort for summer days.

Everything was great…..except the check-in. Waited 2 hours after arrival until the room was ready. Staff taking smoke brakes was observed.

Great location and beach access. Parking a little tight but doable. Old Florida vibe. We definitely will be back.

The staff was wonderful! The pool was clean, but the pool is heated. IF I were to stay here again it would not be in unit 121. Lots of places within walking distance.

Location was great to Beach and dining places. Our disappointment was the location of our building. We were “sandwiched” in between two buildings with NO View! I thought I had requested a view of the bay since we had a patio. I paid for a 2 BR DELUXE. Also, I’d like to suggest that they update the mattresses. Very uncomfortable.

This is my second time this year at Tortuga Inn. The location is really convenient, with a beautiful beach across the street, and all areas are very clean. The rooms are bigger this time, and the kitchen has all the essentials required for cooking. I highly recommend Tortuga Inn for spending time with family or friends.

Beyond our expectations

We loved everything about the Tortuga Inn ! The staff was awesome (a rare experience these days) The room was really clean and smelled fresh - nice and roomy !

We stayed at Tortuga 2 yrs ago and were very impressed with everything available. So... we came back, but with more family. We, once again had a great trip. Thanks to Tortuga!!! We used the pergola for an 80th Birthday party.. it was perfect!!! Proximity to the beach is amazing!! Amenities nearby were perfect as well. Front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. Thank you for keeping your resort at such high standards. We will be back again!!!!

Nice weekend in a spacious room. Everything was clean and the staff were very pleasant. Nice to not have to bring chairs or an umbrella to the beach, they were all provided!

Staff were friendly and helpful. The property is right across from the beach and chairs and umbrellas are provided. Free trolley stop is right in front of the property. Easy ten minute walk to Bridge St shops and restaurants. The room was clean with a comfortable bed, great shower, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. I would stay there again.

Our stay was great overall. We were just across the street from beach access. We love that it was a fairly quiet trip, which is what we were looking for. There were 2 pools. We would love to visit again with an upgraded room.

The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are quaint and have a nice beachy feel. Holly at the front office was super awesome and we dealt with her the most however the rest of the staff was also extremely friendly! It was very quiet, clean, and safe feeling. Plus so much in walkable distance and the beach and dedicated lounge chairs for guests was great. They even supplied umbrellas! The only (small) item I took issue with is that they have two pools and should probably dedicated one to adults only. Overall wonderful stay and we will be returning!

Liked the jet tub. Liked the uniqueness of the hotel and our room. Bed needs a new mattress but overall nice room.

Floors could have been cleaner. Shortly after we arrived we noticed the bottoms of our feet we dirty.

I just completed my first stay at this property. I had a great time and I plan to return. Beach access was very easy.

We stayed in #218 in the front. It was so close to beach and the trolley stops are right in front of the place. The whole way up and down the island the trolley stops. The staff was super friendly and let us store our suitcases and change our clothes to go to beach because we got there hours before our check in. Not far from Sarasota airport- maybe 1/2 hour but Uber was only 30.00. They called us when room was ready. The room was more than we expected. Bathroom was huge and it had small kitchen area(mini fridge, sink, full coffee pot, microwave and toaster oven and all the dishes to use). We were able to take trolley to Publix down the road and get food for in the room. The beach was amazing and yes we found shark teeth by sifting and also just walking. They have beach towels for you and big umbrella (easy to carry because in a bag) and also very comfortable beach loungers that are stacked on the beach already. We stayed 3 nights there then went to Venice for rest of trip to stay with sister. We are definitely planning on going back.

This was our first time staying at The Tortuga Inn and our overall experience was excellent. Highly recommended

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I only have two suggestions. One, the pool could have been cleaner. The skimmers do not do a good job of keeping debris off the water surface. Two, there was no one to help setting up the beach chairs. We had to unstack them and drag them to the beach ourselves. Other than that, we had a wonderful time.

Great place, great location, close to beach and plenty of restaurants. Plenty of parking.

I'll definitely be coming back!
