Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness and courteous staff, but expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of complimentary breakfast and outdated facilities. Some guests also experienced issues with the A/C and bathroom amenities.
- Cleanliness
- Courteous staff
- No complimentary breakfast
- Outdated facilities
- 5/5
Clean room, staff was courteous and willing to help in whatever need we had. Parking lot was well lit.
- 4/5
The staff were exceptionally helpful. They had fresh baked cookies and bottled water available and were able to offer a lot of suggestions on locations for dinner/music, etc. There is no hot tub. On hotels.com it says there is a hot tub and there are pictures, but the hotel's direct website does not show a picture of the hot tub, so hotels.com needs to update this. The shower curtain was 2 feet (or more) too short for the shower. The room and beds were comfortable but the table appeared to be moved from where it was supposed to be and was too heavy for me to move. There is a small fridge and microwave and coffee maker which was nice. I appreciated that there was drawer space and a closet. The food was good in the restaurant. The table that was misplaced blocked one of the drawers however. All in all, this is a nice hotel and I would return.
- 5/5
Great location. The staff was nice and attentive. The room was clean.
- 5/5
We stayed overnight and used hotels.com gift cards with no problem! Staff allowed us to check in early and it was helpful as we arrived into town early for a wedding! Wonderful room.
- 5/5
Peaceful, Cosy Amenities are good Close to the airport
- 5/5
This was a quiet and clean hotel with comfy beds. The bar and restaurant downstairs had some good quick food options. Would stay here again
- 4/5
The staff were very helpful & pleasant especially the Bistro staff were very helpful . The room was good but the sink was clogged , the manager said will send maintainance take care of it & reported later that it was taken care of it but we discovered that it was not & had to change room the next day which was inconvenient. I believe the house keeping should have reported this issue before since they supposedly cleaned the room.
- 2/5
Not impressed with our overall experience. We stayed at a Comfort Inn the night before and believe it or not our overall rating for the Comfort Inn was MUCH better than the Courtyard by Marriott
- 5/5
Close to highway but the property is very quiet
- 5/5
The clock was not changed for Daylight Savings. Through us off on our scheduling. No worries though.
- 5/5
It was good and clean
- 5/5
The parking is very easy and they even have charging stations where you can charge your car overnight.
- 3/5
My Expedia reservation guaranteed me an accessible room with a roll-in shower. I travel with my 18 year old grandson who has muscular dystrophy. I bring a customized shower chair that supports his flaccid muscles. So whenever we travel a roll in shower is a necessity. I even called the hotel several days in advance of our arrival and they assured me that my reservation was for an accessible room with a roll in shower. They even sent an email that said my request was guaranteed. However when we arrived the front desk person said that all that was available was a room with an accessible bathtub. The clerk really wasn’t concerned with our safety. My grandson doesn’t have the muscle tone to allow him to sit up without support. Which is why we had the special shower chair made for him. The clerk acted very unprofessional, telling us that we didn’t have choice, that the roll in shower rooms were all occupied. Basically the check in staff had given our room to someone else. We were in town for the NCAA Tournament and really couldn’t go anywhere else because the town was booked. Needless to say our check in experience was not a good one. I got very angry and loud with the check in person to no avail. We had to stay in the room that was available for the first night. Then the next day the day manager was able to get us a room with a roll in shower.
- 2/5
none
- 2/5
The review is not on the stay, it’s on the lack of customer service from both Marriot and Expedia
- 2/5
Location, quiet night, pleasant looking lobby and café. (Didn't purchase food or drink there) Nice to have smart tv's in rooms to allow guests to use certain apps. I chose filters on booking.com to find hotel with free breakfast and pool with hot tub but this hotel had Neither. (Pool out of order and never had a hot tub to begin with) though clean, towels and washcloths were dingy and stained. One bed had a very sunken mattress (comfortable enough to sleep on, but bedding was torn. For a total of over $230. Per night, I would have expected more. If I decide to use booking.com again, I will only feel comfortable if I call the hotel directly first to be sure I'm getting what is listed. I read hotel reviews after booking and found exactly what one reviewer did. Not up to standard for that price and mislead by description
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly, nice, and accomadating. The front desk clerk was very helpful and kind as well as the morning cafe staff. N/A
- 3.5/5
Good location The towels were all dingy gray…
- 5/5
There was no breakfast offered
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lisa at the front desk and the folks behind the bistro counter were great.
- 2/5
Not up to standard of other Courtyard properties. Old and tired.
- 5/5
Everything was smooth (parking and check-in). The rooms were very clean. I have bad allergies and I slept allergy free. They even have electric charging ports. I will definitely stay again.
- 4.5/5
Clean, well-maintained, and staff was great. It was a bit off the beaten path.
- 2/5
The room was set to 60 degrees in the middle of December. We had to sleep in clothes to stay warm. The towels and the shower curtain had stains on them. The whole place is dated and worn. Not really what you expect from Marriot. Would not reccomend this location.
- 5/5
Very comfy beds and pleasant front desk staff.
- 5/5
The staff was so extremely kind. We accidentally left an IPad behind and they found/held it for us in the lobby. The rooms were clean and pretty big.
- 5/5
The room was nice they had area to order drinks and candy
- 1/5
Housekeeping was supposed to come in the 3rd day but never arrived. And the double “bed” was small and incredibly uncomfortable.
- 4/5
Nice place. New and clean. Only complaint, which is not the hotel's fault is the youth hockey teams that were visiting Buffalo and staying there for a tournament. No discipline by children and little to no supervision as they ran up and down the hall outside my room. This is on the parents, showing them to behave that way. It ended around 9pm, which was the time i gave myself to tolerate the noise before i called the front desk. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Pool not available.
- 4/5
Staff was courteous. Room was tidy but the garbage wasnt thrown out from the previous occupants, so we had to go tell the front desk. Also the wall was peeling on one side of the bed. Other than that, everything was ok
- 4/5
In the future, we will have to look for other options.
- 2/5
After the first night I looked at my account to make sure the charges were right and there are about $1000 in extra charges. 3 charges for $300 1 charge for $1 and 1 charge for $150. The manager said that the person who checked us in messed up and that they are only holds but that hold doesn't let me use the money for things I planned to do on the trip. So driving 7.5 hours to come have some fun ended up being driving 7.5 hours to stay in a hotel and go home.
- 5/5
Was room, fresh and clean
- 5/5
Breakfast - coffee in lobby great
- 5/5
Nice staff, breakfast. Very convenient to UB, highly recommend
- 3/5
location was close to airport, quiet & safe neighborhood, and convenient to the freeway. the room was spacious and clean. they were able to accommodate room near elevator and shower chair upon request since it was not busy there. the towels were discolored and rough. coffee was not good. the outlet at the bedside were loose didn't fit phone charger. walls were too thin. I could hear kids laughing and playing next room.
- 4/5
Good stay overall
- 3/5
The reason for my low rating is that the furniture in my suite look like it had been chewed by pitbull’s all of the furniture legs were chewed up and should not have been in a Marriott property
- 3/5
Okay stay
- 5/5
Clean room
- 3/5
Bed was uncomfortable.
- 2/5
My tv wasn't working and the person working the desk was completely unhelpful and useless and unfriendly
- 1/5
Staff were rude, room cold, lack of towels, no whirlpool, overcharged
- 4/5
The hotel room was quiet and clean. The bathroom was small as the door swings in to right in front of the toilet. The hot tub is gone and recently tiled over, which was a disappointment. Television allows easily for HDMI media input.
- 4/5
Clean room as described. Beds are comfortable however pillows are horrible! Also super loud vacuuming with the cleaning staff talking super loud in the morning at 7am!! Overall good stay decent staff and clean hotel!
- 1/5
They gave me wrong room
- 5/5
The staff were helpful and cheerful. Thank you!
- 2/5
Bathroom was terrible. They had us in a handicap room, there was not a real shower and the sink was built for a wheel chair to go in. The mirrors were dirty and there was not a tall mirror or anything so that you could see yourself before you left the room. Also, Wallpaper was peeling and the window would not shut all the way and screen was popped out. Not at all happy with the room based on what I paid for it. The staff was not that friendly, I asked for water and I was told to come back down later, meanwhile another couple walked up and were given two bottles.
- 5/5
Very comfortable
- 4/5
Friendly and clean
- 3/5
We only stayed one night so it was fine. Bathroom floor had old hair still there. Bed was fine. Price was great
- 5/5
Warm welcoming beautiful friendly staff. I’d like to thank Lisa the front desk manager for being so kind and accommodating. Will definitely stay back in this hotel again in near future !
- 4/5
Nice
- 5/5
Nice stay. Pool is indoor but on the small side
- 5/5
The staff in the Bistro (a.m.) where simply lovely!
- 3/5
Not even a complementary coffee, my wife didn't want to use the coffe maker becouse it had dust inside, we went downstairs and had to pay for a cap of coffee and water. No breakfast neither unless you pay for what you consumed. Other. Heaper hotels around offers at least a capbof coffe on the lobby, others offer continental breakfast.
- 1/5
The room was dirty with grabage all around the beds and left iver garbage from previous guess.
- 2/5
First night i spent there the person next to my room was making all this banging noise from 2am till the police came at 7:30am. Messed up my day
- 5/5
Clean, convenient close to food and shopping and only 30 min from niagara falls!! Friendly staff and most of all safe area!
- 2/5
The front desk staff were not very clear about deposit for incidentals. I question their knowledge on how the hotel billing system actually works. This hotel also shows on Expedia as having a hot tub however we were informed that it had been removed the previous year. Overall, a disappointing stay.
- 3/5
Decent option at this cost but travelers need to be advised that housekeeping is not daily. You find that out after you check in… cleanliness is not so great either
- 4/5
Only thing I really dislike was no parking. Very upsetting! Other than that nice stay will be returning.
- 3/5
They didn't seem to know how to check me in as an expedia customer. It took almost 20 minutes.
- 4/5
Great hotel!
- 2.5/5
Room was clean, the Bed was good. Swimming Pool Indoor one does not have proper lights, is not heated, has no hot tub, and free breakfast isnt good better off you pay for stuff.
- 4/5
Just stopped overnight while on the road. Decent hotel for the price. No breakfast included.
- 5/5
The room wasn't properly cleaned, and the TV kept shutting off and on. The pool wasn't able to be used and we booked because they advertised an indoor pool.
- 2/5
This place lacked CLEAN. Sheets brown stain. Light switch dirty & hairs on walls of shower.
- 3/5
No microwave in room
- 4/5
We stayed at the Marriott for UB move-in. The check-in person was kind and helpful. The hotel room was great. The bathroom needs a little bit of updating. Good experience, would stay there again.
- 5/5
Less than 10 minutes from UB North or South Campus, location is convenient for a visit to the University at Buffalo. The hotel was very nice. The entrance to the parking lot is a bit tricky to find, as it's off to the side of the hotel with a small sign and you have to go down a bit of a driveway. Self parking was good, but limited and one of the main parking lot lights was out, leaving it very dark. The immediate surroundings are a bit desolate, but just a very short drive to a vibrant suburban area.
- 3.5/5
Bathroom so small and breakfast improvement ideas needed
- 1.5/5
Bed was comfortable There was no housekeeping service. We had to dispose of all our trash all week. Towels never changed all week. The couch smelled like a dog stayed on it. Was forced to pay 50 dollars a day for incidentals. Only good Thing is I got my money back after the trip. The carpets was cleaned while we were there but they were wet for two days.
- 5/5
The hotel staff at the front desk were kind and professional and allowed us to have our room earlier than the check in time
- 5/5
Clean and god service.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great!
- 5/5
Clean and friendly staff
- 4/5
Clean room, update building, easy self parking.
- 4/5
Nice place, nice location. Very comfortable beds! Quiet, friendly staff and good value.
- 1/5
Dirty Bathroom, nothing else to say.
- 3/5
Bed was comfy. Price was reasonable. No amenities like makeup remover, or lotion in room. There were holes in the bathroom and gaping separated shower walls.
- 4/5
A little overpriced
- 4/5
Hotel was very nice overall, but be advised that the jacuzzi (shown in hotel pictures next to the indoor pool) is now gone/paved over. Not the end of the world, but I was using the hotel as a "home base" during some stressful medical testing, and had chosen this hotel looking forward to de-stressing a bit in the jacuzzi afterwards. Overall a very nice hotel, just maybe need to update their pics on this website.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The room was very spacious and clean. Check-in was fast and friendly
- 2/5
The listing says that it has an electric vehicle charger, and it does not. I wouldn't have booked this if the listing were correct.
- 5/5
We booked for a quick trip but the staff was absolutely wonderful. Very welcoming. Everything is nice and clean and the food is great as well! Nothing
- 5/5
We had a very nice stay the location was great for our needs.
- 0.5/5
It seemed like the maintenance guy was trying to rob me. I left the hotel to get coffee at about 730am passing by most of the staff I returned through the side door at 815am the maintenance guy opened the room and walked in no knock no apology no tools.
- 5/5
The beds were so comfortable! The UB campus was only 5 minutes away. Housekeeping is every 3rd day.
- 3/5
The hotel itself looks like is in the middle of no where. The front of the hotel is not presentable. Shower did not had body wash. The AC hardly worked. Surprised cause usually Marriott’s are not like that.
- 4/5
Accomodating
- 4/5
Average- no thrills. they advertise fridges and microwaves in the room but the microwave is in the lobby in the little store.
- 3.5/5
OK Poor location
- 2/5
STAYED A WEEK!! THEY DIDN'T CLEAN OR REFRESH ROOM, NO A/C, ONLY ONE EMPLOYEE WAS AMAZING. BEDS SO UNCOMFORTABLE. WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN
- 5/5
Lobby, elevators, cafe area looks clean. Room service was nit every day, but they kept room very clean. No smell from carpets. TV program or service was excellent with a smart TV and local channels available. Cafe was very friendly staffed.
- 3/5
Room was disgusting and not clean.cwe had to Lysol the bathroom. mildew all over the shower. we had to sacrifice a kids toy to keep the tub drain open. the A/c didn't work at all. Rugs were a sticky
- 4/5
Close to many things. Good condition and staff was helpful
- 4/5
It is a typical hotel for short time stay. Nothing bad.
- 5/5
Nice staff and beautiful room and hotel .
- 4/5
Clean and easy to navigate It was very warm in the room and even warmer in the halls
- 4/5
It was good and quiet stay at the hotel.
- 1/5
I got bit by bed bugs.
- 4/5
The hotel was cleaned
- 3/5
The internet was difficult to get logged in on. Really when to you want to talk to technical support for a connection. after goofing around with it for 30 mijnutes I finally connected...bad part is not sure why. I did adjust setting on security on my computer...but nothing significant at least I thought.
- 4/5
Stay was good - beds are very high. Husband was unable to get up onto bed without assistance. The staff did purchase a small step stool for our stay which helped. They informed us upon leaving that they had ordered medical type step stools for others who may have problems.
- 3/5
Breakfast options- looking for more options. and prices were not reasonable.
- 0.5/5
Location The room was dirty stained sheets, there was no house keeping and when asked for new sheets was given the wrong size and when finally got the right sheets they were dirty also. Had to go to Walmart and buy our own sheets pillows and blanket. If I had a choice I would’ve left but hotels were booked for graduation weekend. On top of all that the staff was rude and argumentative. Not a good experience.
- 5/5
Dining staff was warm and welcoming each morning!
- 4/5
All good
- 2/5
Can’t believe this is a “by Marriot”, old, dated, bad furniture, uncomfortable bedding, the shower was leaking and getting the whole bathroom wet, I could go on, but you can paint the picture.
- 5/5
It was a great stop as we waited for hospital admission to Millard Fillmore suburban close by. Perfect comfort and large screen tv with a couch. The cafe downstairs had great fresh food and friendly service … we didn’t need to go elsewhere and just relaxed. Will be back for sure!
- 5/5
I really like the way the treating people and they are so clean
- 2/5
Location is great. However, we chose this property for the pool as my wife is pregnant and it
- 1/5
I booked this hotel mainly because it advertised a pool, but when I checked in, I was told it was closed. There was no prior notice, yet I was still charged the full rate. I asked the manager for some kind of compensation, but both he and the front desk staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. There was no empathy, no solution offered, and no respect for the customer. It's shocking that a hotel under the Marriott name has such unprofessional staff and no backup plan for situations like this. Terrible customer service – I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was totally welcoming and accommodating. The room and bed were comfortable. Everyone we encountered went beyond our expectations. We will definitely book a Courtyard on our next trip.
- 3/5
I chose this hotel based upon it having a hot tub as described, and it was sealed off. The pool was extremely small, so I never used it. In addition, I thought a microwave and couch were supposed to be in my room, and they were missing. The coffee machine in the room was not clean, and I did not use it either. It was a comfortable stay, but I was slightly disappointed.
- 4/5
Other than that, it was good!
- 3/5
We were received very nice. We were placed on the 4th floor due to a party they had coming in for the night. Very courtious. Then the next night they put a loud family next to us sith talking adults in the hallway and kids running up and down yelling to each other. Then the door to the room, across the hall was opened and closed 7 times simultaneously in the next 5 minutes. I spke to the desk lady the next morning and she would make a note, since we were staying for 5 nights. That very next night the was loud adults across the room. Hard to sleep. I do not understand when I know the 4th floor is not full of guests that people couldn't be placed at the other end of the hall. I stay at your motel twice a year March and July both for 5 days.
- 1/5
Scheduled my stay for this hotel bc it was close to Niagara Falls and because of the pool and spa both were down for maintenance. No one informed me at check in. Then I was told I wouldn’t be able to talk to a manager til tuseday which was after I was leaving. Someone kept charging things to my room number so my bill was increased
- 5/5
Nothing unique. Driveway and parking areas in good shape, no potholes.
- 5/5
Newly renovated building. Clean room.
- 2/5
All amenities out of order. No breakfast or coffee, Staff not friendly.
- 2/5
Would not choose to stay again. The room was uncomfortable and not the cleanest. My son had really terrible allergies from the moment we entered the room
- 5/5
Well decorated, clean, comfortable room. Very cordial front desk staff. Nice choice of food and bar items in lobby.
- 1/5
I booked the hotel because it advertised a pool and hot tub. Upon arriving, I was told both had been closed for weeks. The staff offered little assistance.
- 2/5
There was no heat on the room when u walk into it it’s like ur sitting outside cold then it didn’t heat up all night
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room and excellent service.
- 3/5
Very disappointed that the hot tub was not in use..they closed it up with cement..should have let us know this before we booked..the hot tub is the whole reason we chose this hotel!
- 5/5
Fantastic top to bottom. Highly recommended! We stayed at 2 courtyards this week (Buffalo and Cambridge). Could not have been different experiences. Buffalo was sensational and Cambridge was terrible.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and very clean and quiet
- 5/5
The place was sharp and delightful. Definitely a sweet spot.
- 4/5
Conveniently located
- 4/5
Good restaurant/bar
- 5/5
The stay was comfortable and clean
- 1/5
The washroom was moldy. The heating insufficient. Shampoo, body soap and conditioner containers were empty. Gym without water cups and without enough towels. Terrible for the price paid.
- 5/5
Love the Ambienece
- 4/5
Hotel was fine. Room was dirty. Sticky spots on bedside table and dust everywhere. Missing shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in shower.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay. Close to many restaurants.
- 5/5
The staff here is particularly welcoming from the front desk to the bar and restaurant. I would highly recommend staying here if you are flying out of Buffalo or just passing through.
- 5/5
Everything in the room was new and in good condition . Large tv. Quiet heat/air system . Friendly staff. Very good location.
- 4/5
Good experience. Thought the bar would be open later especially when a huge football game is going on that weekend. Also $52 for 2 double shot drinks is insane when you can go to any bar and get them for 8 ton16 top shelf.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
The rooms was clean and it was very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. Only issue we had was exiting the driveway. It is on an extremely busy main road. Turning left is almost impossible. It is an accident waiting to happen.
- 5/5
Staff were excellent!
- 5/5
We were staying for one night. It was quiet and comfortable and the staff were very helpful, especially reception. Our coffee maker didnt work and we called reception and someone qas supposed to come and replace it. After an hour no one came so my friend went to the front desk and the receptionist kindly gave us each a Starbucks coffee at no charge.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
The bistro complete with an espresso bar and high quality breakfasts cooked up fresh in the back kitchen was a gem! The handicap accessible room we got for my mom was thoughtfully located by the elevator and easy for her to navigate.
- 4/5
Everything was good
- 5/5
Good nice great awesome wonderful excellent fantastic fabulous
- 5/5
Brand new feel. Super clean and accessible. Definitely would stay again.
- 4/5
No amenities close by. Nice room but suspected pink mold on walls and wet stains on lamp shade. Low ventilation.
- 1/5
Hotel looks in a great shaper from outside, from the inside, a whole different story. Walls are pealing, rooms in bad shape, and sheets and towels are worn out. Would not recommend or stay there again
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and the room was clean.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean the staff was very friendly
- 5/5
I loved the quality of service I received from the staff. The fire pit was very cozy.
- 5/5
Everything was clean. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
We very comfortable, this hotel very great!!
