It’s an older building, and you can tell. The elevator scared me, the doors didn’t want to close at one point and the noise was a bit unnerving. The rooms were clean but didn’t feel like a hotel, more like a one room apartment building. Not somewhere I would feel comfortable going again.

Cool old building. Affordable. Close to downtown. Bed was kinda soft and old. No fitness room.

So disgusted with the property (it is a transient hotel with “permanent” residents that smoke (cigarettes and pot), there are no “suites” at the inn & suites, there was no hair dryer, the tv shut down 5 minutes after starting it, no drawers to put clothes, 3 hangers…we left after 1 night.

Asked the front desk lady for a recommendation for a place close to there for happy hour and getting some small bites, her response was to go downtown. If I wanted to go downtown I would have stayed downtown. I wanted recommendations for THAT area. Anyways, the elevator was nostalgic of old NYC, which was cool. Getting to our floor there are ZERO signs of where to go and about 5 hallways. It was annoying and smelled like patchouli. Hated that. Room didn't smell like it at all tho, but was just weird... Idk how to explain other than it felt like the type of place you would see in a movie where people are behind the walls watching you. Not saying that happened, just saying all the hallways and the bare necessities room, just gave it a vibe. Shower drain was DISGUSTING looking but we didn't notice til next morning since we headed out immediately. Toilet was tiny. No ventilation fan. Bed was not made for "adult activities" as it was not bolted or affixed to wall or floor, so that was awkward. Just all in all I can honestly say this was a terrible experience and I would never stay here again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. While the building (late 19th century) and the fittings had 'charm', it's not modern. Bed and bedding were very nice. The building has mostly long term residents living there, one or two I met in the lift and reception and seemed to be very nice but I kind of felt like I was intruding a bit. (maybe it was just me being a bit oversensitive to them) The building is about half a block to a good bus route. The neighbourhood is decent. The cheapest option for the dates I needed so you get what you pay for. Everything was clean and well looked after but aged. No breakfast available (not that it was advertised as having any, but worth noting when comparing)

Beautiful old hotel with nicely kept rooms. It's got a historic, slightly spooky energy, which we appreciated. The wifi was not great in our room. Otherwise, a pleasant stay in a great part of town.

Charming, historical hotel. My room was big, high ceillings, very comfortable bed, pillows, and comforter. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. There was a parking lot. The neighborhood is full of old trees and beautiful historic homes including the home, a Natiinal Site, where Teddy Roosevelt was inaugurated after President McKinley died. The hotel was centrally located a short bus ride, uber or 20 minute walk to the Buffalo Convention Center, a 20 minute walk or short bus ride to Elwood Village and a short bus ride to the AKG art museum. Walgreens is right next door and Starbucks is after that. Great experience. Unique hotel if you appreciate history.

When your enter into the hotel it felt like you were stepping into a different era, the keys, the room, exemplary could not have asked for anything nicer maybe the windows open a little easier to just catch a tidbit of a Winter breeze. The staff was amazing and extra accommodating given the shift in the hotel industry over the past 10 years. It is so sad to say it's not the hotel - oh please move it out on 200 acres so you can wander listlessly about during amazing lifetime engagements. The area where the hotel is located is inundated with criminals unfortunately even at the Walgreens next door you couldn't get a product the products were locked up and the staff was rude. I would like to see a hotel gift shop with those types of amenities, safety convenience, allowing for an amazing eclectic stay.

Clean, large room with plenty of parking. In May 2026, the restaurant was permanently closed, and no other lounge scene so the lobby is dark and quiet. Also, people seem to live in the hotel, maybe a multi-purpose property. So the vibe is unusual. It is walking distance to many bars and restaurants.

That said, it’s important to know what comes with staying in a building of this age: the walls are thin, the hallways are narrow, the bathroom light/exhaust fan is loud, and the windows are original single-pane New England style. For me, those details were part of the character, not drawbacks. I chose this location for its aesthetic appeal, and it absolutely delivered. The pink subway tile in the bathroom, opening the window on a spring day to overlook the city, and walking through the lobby with its brass postal box and decorative wrought iron railings all felt like stepping back into a more elegant era. Even the vintage elevator—with its button panel and rhythmic sounds as it moved between floors—encouraged you to slow down and take it all in. I was in Buffalo for a show, and staying at the Lenox added something special to the experience. If you appreciate historic, non-chain accommodations, this is a place worth supporting. I will absolutely stay again!
