Holiday Inn Express Castro Valley - I-580 by IHG

I was very pleased with my stay recently. I thought my room was very well kept and clean. The staff were very helpful without being intrusive every time they saw me. I also appreciated that there was some covered parking available since the days I stayed were particularly hot. And lastly, I thought the quality of the breakfast was impressive. The bar isn’t high, but the breakfast was consistently good, organized, and tasty. No complaints.

Location is ideal close to freeway and restaurants good location close to airport I couldn’t get my breakfast I had to leave before 6:30 am- there were no extra pillows needed one for my son.

The hotel was very clean. I did notice that some of the hand towels were very worn out, and the coating on the toilet seat was peeling, likely due to enthusiastic use of cleaning chemicals.

Handicapped parking TV didn’t work and for 2 night stay never was repaired even though reported to front desk several times. Kerig coffee bar not stocked and then not replenished with new cups and pods the next day

No water Not able to watch tv I asked for help on that and no one came to help Air conditioner couldn’t turn it on I asked for help on that and no one came to help The receptionist only said I don’t know And that was it The worst experience we ever had

I asked for a late check out and he was rude with that. The only allow me 15 minutes I asked for one hour the only allow me 15 minutes so I wasn’t happy about that.

Access from the highway was difficult to find. Parking was great. Hard to find anyone at the front desk. The room was comfortable with the exception of the toilet, so short that it was very difficult standing up from it with no hand rail to help. The occupants of the room above were very active, jumping off the bed active and running around.

The place seemed recently updated. Our room seemed very clean and new. It had great amenities. The breakfast was good except it kept running out and they were slow to refill. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was great. The hotel was undergoing renovations, so it will be even better next time.

The first room was pretty noisy, we were moved to another one, significantly better. The hotel is going thru the remodeling, creating a bit of disruption. The place is OK for one night stay.

They was doing a remodel and making all the noise at eight 9 o'clock in the morning. They had no notice didn't warn the customers that they would be doing that in the morning. Woke me up out of my sleep. This place is terrible.

Room seemed fine at first glance but carpet outside bathroom was soaking wet so had to change rooms. In new room, smoke detector wasn’t actually on, no light and hanging from the wall. Lights flickered on like an old laundromat. Heat wouldn’t turn off at temp set, had to manually get up through the night to turn it on and off. Room phone didn’t work at all. No USB charging ports.

Limited parking, Freezing room, Blinding spot lights pointed at the windows of every room in the front - impossible to sleep with the blackout curtains (forget waking up to the sunrise)

Only a couple of complaints. The beds were very uncomfortable and there was a issue with a light switch. Also the bathroom door was hard to open and close. Room really could use some updates.

Parking was fine. The room was completely clean and breakfast was just right!

It was displayed on the site they were going through construction, the ac and heat was really difficult to manage, not a lot of towels, not a fan of that hotel. Customer service was so so not the best.

The location is terrible to access especially in heavy traffic. I was advised by the hotel the day before arrival that their parking would be severely curtailed and was obliged to modify my planned activities. (I must say in the event the parking crisis did not occur.) The usual little things, the Keurig machine delivered no coffee, the alarm clock read the wrong time and couldn't be reset (?) and the thermostat LCD letters were worn out, though the climate control worked very well. They are just a miss instead of just a hit.

We came from another state for a short trip to Yosemite National Park. Since our flight to SFO arrived late, we called the hotel on the day of check-in to inform them that we would arrive late. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, the staff continued to be kind and accommodating. The hotel, including the guest room, was very clean. Although our stay was short, it was very comfortable. Thank you!

It’s centrally located in the Bay Area and can rely on the Holiday Inn quality.

Ive stayed here a couple of times and i recommend it.My only suggestion is for breakfast to be earlier on the weekends. Every thing else was fine.

Perfect place to stay in. Staff very friendly and professional. Hotel very clean and spacious and 24hr parking surveillance. Close to fwys, restaurants, and more. Will definitely be staying here again.

My flight was delayed 12 hours. Called ahead to notify I would not need the room and if I could be refunded. Plenty of time to re-sell the room. Three days later Holiday Inn notified me I would not get a refund of my money. $200. I was even willing to take a credit for my next stay. Why do companies steal from people. Disappointed. Nice hotel with friendly staff. Isolated from Castro Valley proper. Hotel nicely placed on lot.

It was amazing and we had no issues with the room that was assigned to us. The staff was very prompt in getting us some body towels as our room did not have any at the time we arrived.

Customer service by the front desk was very rude and unprofessional. We stayed on the 2nd floor, management watches you like a hawk, I felt uncomfortable at my stay here. I’m being 100% I would not recommend this place at all.

I called to cancel my reservation due to a family emergency and the person who answered the phone was new and didn’t know if I would be penalized. She took my number and promised to have someone call me and they never did.

The staff were pleasant. The hotel itself was very outdated.

I was awakened on 2 mornings at 4am by a chirping fire alarm in my room. They promised to discount my stay but didn’t. I ask mgr to call me—he didn’t. I emailed general mgr—no response. They are willing to accept poor reviews rather than provide good customer service or keep their word.

Property management was GREAT! Took extra care to accommodate our oversized U-Haul Truck. Made our overnight stay pleasant and worry-free.

This is a fantastic hotel. We stayed here twice in a month. The team at the front desk are outstanding. Extremely friendly, helpful, very personable. Remembered our names every time we came and went. The hotel is very clean, especially our rooms. I have high cleaning standards and they exceeded my expectations. The breakfast is nothing fancy, but many choices. And all good. My only caution is the hotel is in a triangle of busy freeway, and streets. If you are a light sleeper, I would bring ear plugs. For us normal sleepers, it didn’t keep us up. The rooms are sound proofed and did a great job of blocking out as much noise as possible.

this hotel is a nickle and penny. 1st we try to request early check in, we got answered that they do chage for ealry check in and check with the property, so be it. next the day we check in the guy who check us in said are all of you going to stay you only booked for 2 (but our reservafion is for 2 adult and 1 child) bcoz when we arrived my (parents) drop us on to the hotel and and they will leave and will pick up us the next morning. the guys said bcoz we charge person + taxes. not a good welcome to a guest. 3rd they did not verify but they already charge my charde for additional 3person. not happy start

Very clean nicely furnished

My room had a bad smell and the carpet was very wet. The manager said the shower leaked while I was in it and I told him absolutely not. The room was wet upon us entering it. Didn’t feel like arguing with him!

Stayed 1 night and it was better than I expected ☺️ The staff was great-Shanda greeted me by my name anytime we crossed paths. Definitely felt safe. All staff was friendly. The room was clean and had more than enough towels and toiletries. Dorm sized fridge/microwave/Keurig coffee maker in room. Breakfast had simple yet very good food. Would definitely stay again if I’m in that area

A decent hotel, a little bit expensive (more than $200) considering its conditions. It’s a old hotel, but clean, all staff are nice, continental breakfast with scrambled egg and turkey bacon. Quiet, if the guest on upper floor doesn’t walk around all the time…Overall is good for a short stay.

The hotel was Great. Staff was Excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the blackout shades in the window. I couldn't find them the first night & we slept in a brightly lit room. The next night my son in law asked if i had a problem with the curtains. He had the same problem & explained they were behind the gauze curtains & pushed far back.

Nothing big we were there just for the in room jet tub and a little mom and dad time for ourselves. The whole property and rooms were very clean. Breakfast has been above std continental style.
