Overall great stay for the weekend

The breakfast was fresh, hot, and so good. The coffee was wonderful. The fruit was very fresh it looked like they had just purchased it. The staff were so nice. We will definitely stay there again and recommend it when needing to stay in Champagne.

I have stayed several times at this property. It is conveniently located with restaurants and shopping close by. The hotel uses Direct TV which during my stay was constantly going off. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and I will stay there again in the future.

Friendly and helpful staff. I checked in at 2:30 am, only complaint is that check-in was extremely slow

The hotel is in a nice location with plenty of parking and restaurants all around. The highway is close by. Staff friendly and helpful. The room selection I had was very nice comfortable bed and room. I will definitely come back. Hot hotel breakfast does help you save a few bucks as opposed to buying breakfast.

Our stay was fine, really, just expected a little more focus from staff given the price and on graduation weekend.

Breakfast was good selection. I really liked that they had scrambled eggs. as someone who needs low carb that is a great option instead of just the high carb stuff. It was a long walk to get to the front from our room and the hallways were confusing to me. Our door key only worked on one of the outside doors not both.

There property had a bad smell as you walked through the halls. Overall not clean and poorly maintained.

It was decent and the beds were clean The tub had discoloration and stepping in it it felt plastic, so it didn’t make for an enjoyable showering experience after working 12 hours

Parking area is well-lighted. I felt that the lighting would be a deterrent to mischief to parked vehicles. Staff were pleasant. Shower worked well. Bedding was clean and smelled fresh. A-C/heat unit worked well. Overall, I thought my room was a good value with all of the basic necessities well-covered.

The property could use a lot of attention. The stairs were not great. They pitched forward on a lot of steps. Hang onto the railing. There is no elevator, so if you can't do stairs, ask for the first floor. It needs work on cleaning. The first time we used the toilet, the seat almost fell off. Breakfast was not bad. It was like most hotels with free breakfast. The breakfast area was clean. The staff was nice. Parking is free with plenty of spaces. Overall, the hotel was pretty quiet; it just needs some TLC.

Breakfast was ok. Good variety. Kept clean and fellow was refilling items. One wastebasket in room was not emptied from prior night.

Room was clean. Front desk staff was friendly. Breakfast options were good. Gym equipment could use an update, Treadmill frame was broken but worked. No fans in gym and no towels. It was nice that the hotel had multiple water bottle fillers. Conveniently located near mall, shopping and only a 10 minute drive to U of IL campus. Overall, would stay here again if needed.

I didn't like anything this visit They had done work in the room and left all the materials in the room and for got.the, left so means the room hadn't been cleaned from the dust or anything wasn't happy at all

I booked this through Hotels.com with a 24 hour cancellation policy. I got to the room, and the shower had mold in it and the bathroom smelled like smoke. I was paying over $500 a night for this room. The parking lot is in poor condition, and honestly the outdoor area does not feel very safe. Once I saw the room, I went downstairs and said that I could not stay the second night. They told me to contact Hotels.com, which I did, and Hotels.com then called the hotel. They said they would refund my second night. I left the next day, and then I was charged for two nights. I just got off the phone with the manager from the hotel, and he refused to refund my money even though La Quinta and Hotels.com said it would be. He would not listen to a word I said. I would not stay here under any circumstance due to the room condition and due to hotel management.

My hotel room also had the strong cheap cleaning smell, but it was also covering up another unpleasant odor (possibly cigarette smoke, even though it was a non smoking room). This smell did not go away and my clothes smelled of it the next day. Changing out the cleaning solution and making sure that rooms do not have any odors would go a long way. Otherwise, the linens were nice, and the bed was comfortable.

Good location, good hotel rate, nice that breakfast was included in my rate. Staff was friendly and nice. The room could use some updating, especially the shower and there was something on the ceiling. It looked like there was some epoxy applied to it for a repair.

Carpet is damp and wet. Too much chemicals on floor and air freshener used. All the smell is very allergic like place. House keeping is a bit rude unprofessional. Little bit quality on compliments breakfast items. Room should be nice and ready when quest checks in. We have to wait at least 20 minutes before any staff shows up for check in.

It was a smaller facility, on the older type. There was no elevator. The door to the room had a gap at the bottom, so all noises or people speaking in the hallway were very audible inside the room.

Loved the bed and pillows I slept like a log. Had great toiletries and a nice TV we were able to watch good quality movies. The smell. It was like a can of room spray exploded in there it was waaay too much they must've covered up stink from the last person was my thought but they use the same floral spray in the main areas. I think they need a new fragrance it was potent. And breakfast was meh

Quiet and close to the highway. Very clean, good breakfast and friendly staff. Panera Bread directly across the street. Other restaurants close by. Our room was close to the lobby and right across from the ice machine and soda dispensers, so was a bit noisy at times.

Property was in excellent shape as best La Quinta that I have stayed at. Breakfast was good with large selection of food. Only issue was that it was a little noisy in the hallway with college kids.

Had a great stay. Room was extra clean, it smelled of bleach when I first got there, but I just opened a window and let it air out. Easy check in and very nice staff!

Don’t care much for the pet area. Felt like I was right on the road. But it worked fine. Place shows its age but it was clean and the staff were accommodating and friendly.

Hotel bathroom in our room did not appear to be clean and there was possibly used towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Hotel in general seemed to be run down and needs some upgrades in general.

Waited for 20 minutes for attendant to check me in at 1 am after driving all day. I rang the bell, called, didn’t speed it up. Once the guy got there he was not friendly. Also the lights in my room did not work.

To the hotel’s credit, they immediately moved me to another room without any hesitation. The new room was visibly cleaner. Who knows if they actually scour and deep clean the rooms, though. The pullout bed had stained sheets and blankets. I still didn’t feel comfortable with my family in the hotel. We checked out early, and Expedia helped communicate with the hotel for a refund of the remaining time.

Location was good, not far from U of I. This is an older property. Value was good.

For the price--very disappointed. Probably one of the noisest hotels we've stayed in. Doors slamming, people talking loudly at 3AM in hallways. Rooms had a disgustingly fowl odor. Washcloths smelled soured or had previous body odor. Sign in bathroom stated towels and washcloths changed daily--did not happen. Bedframes were metal. Everytime you accidently kicked it, extra noise. Not the hotel we remembered in the 1990s.

The door to the room didn’t shut properly and not sure if the deadbolt even worked. It didn’t shut tight so the light from the hallway came through at night. The bathroom door needed adjustment. Also killed a big spider in the lobby on our way to eat breakfast.

This property is old there are marks on the walls the so called breakfast was bad the lady kept bringing is food in a rubbermaid container heating in the microwave. We were on the 2nd floor and they do not have an elevator!! They allow pets so evidently one slept on my bed because I itched all night. the sheets on the 2nd bed were wrinkled as if they had not been changed. Will not go back.

When the room above sprung a leak in the bathroom, we were immediately transferred to another room. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was awesome with a good selection. Room was clean and quiet. It is a great place to stay.

Run down but everything worked, needed to be prepared with food to serve guests for breakfast. Needed to wait too long for breakfast to get microwaved and moved to the warmers

Not very impressed..the hotel is very old yet clean..Breakfast left alot to be desired. 2nd morning ran out of food and by the time they brought more out it was gone that quick..hotel was quite full so they shoukd have been more prepared. Laundry was a pay washer/dryer and only accepted quarters. Front desk dodnt have any so was unable to do laundry. Very seldom do hotels have pay laundry these days.

Might want to get the AC changed. The one in my room seem to have been through some years and make a lot of noise when working. I opted to not use them since it got cooler later on but when you must you them I can see this being a problem for light sleepers.

Very confusing layout. Doubtful emergency escape is possible with such a layout. Better hope you can simply use the window in room to get out.

Toilet seat was old and pealing and had a bad smell. Tub was old and rusty. There was no elevator in there at all. Room doors was dirty. These place need an update.

I booked a stay there for one night and didn’t even end of staying. It was a better option to just drive the 2 hours home. The room smelled bad, the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working correctly. Our room was damp and humid, and overall it just didn’t feel clean. There was actually a dirty tissue stuffed in our peep hole that was a bit unsettling. Waste of $130!

We have an entire list of things that were wrong. No working vending machine, no coffee available in lobby, empty shampoo and other amenities, Kleenex empty, ceiling leaking in bathroom after rain, after reporting, they showed up to fix it while we were napping before our big event, knocking on the door even with the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. Front desk never called for our wake up call, fluorescent light in bathroom was so low we had to bring the room lamp in to see. The breakfast was horrible, the same thing both days. Just St a horrible experience, and definitely put a dark stain on our vacation. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

The room was clean and beds were comfortable. There is no elevator in this hotel and we had a lot of luggage so thankfully they changed our room to the first floor. The pool is outdoors and it was raining so we didn’t get to try it out. The breakfast was sub-par. One of the factors in choosing a hotel for us is finding one with a hot breakfast, but we couldn’t eat most of it. The waffle mix was watered down which made for very flat waffles. The eggs had some kind of processed cheese in them. The potatoes were undercooked. We saw the attendant microwaving the biscuits before putting them in the warmer. Needless to say, we ended up eating mostly the grab and go items.

The shower head had the worst water pressure I’ve ever seen, so bad that there’s no chance that I’m the first one that brought it up. The bathroom fan was also on the verge of dying and very loud.

The handicap bathroom had a seat in the tub. It broke off the wall while I was sitting on it. I did not have a major injury, but only because the bar was propped on the side of the tub. My knees were a bit sore.

An absolutely lovely and accommodating hostess made the the experience even more relaxing than it already was being very kind and helpful to my stay. The tv was updated so i could hook up my electronics and warm meals were ready every morning.

The smell of mold was covered up with an overwhelming smell of air freshener that gave our entire family a headache.

I liked my room, very comfortable and clean. I did not like that i had to pay a deposit even though i booked and paid through Expedia. The woman that checked me in was obviously listening to something as she had ear buds in and wasnt really paying attention to me and she didnt tell me how much the deposit was

This hotel was impeccably clean. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious. They served a hot breakfast that consisted of good tasting and fresh variety of food. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Great value!

The front desk staff could not have been more unfriendly. Wearing an Underarmour sweatshirt, she gave no welcome, no smile. The housekeepers knocked at my door at 9 a.m. and yelled "Check Out! Housekeeping" despite check-out being at 11 a.m. Then the same front desk staff member came knocking at 11:15 a.m. despite telling her I was staying for two nights and wanted the same room when I originally checked in. She said I needed to return to the front desk to check in again so that the housekeepers don't bother me. I said they already had and she didn't even apologize. The towels were light-beige and not crisp white because they had not been bleached enough to make them bright white.

Very clean property, decent breakfast, location was good, v close to stores such as Costco, Target. Ten minutes away from UIUC.

The only drawback for some could be that there are no lifts in this property so one has to carry the laguage over stairs and may not be as convenient for the elderly to use stais always.

The microwave & refrigerator in the room were ancient, like 15 years old & discolored and barely worked or warmed. However, the newly painted rooms & carpet look great! The breakfast was sub-par with limited choice. The newly renovated breakfast area was decent, except for the old unsightly garbage cans crusted with food. The neon green lights must go along with the stained orange cloth seating. This is just another university town hotel price gauging families who come to visit their college kids. This room was not worth the $350 I spent, more like $75, period.

Toilet needs repair. Beds were comfortable, room quiet enough. Coffee hot, breakfast had fresh fruit which is a plus! Consider switching to paper plates and all paper cups in breakfast area, lots of plastic going to landfill. Staff friendly especially breakfast room attendant.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that this property had been renovated. It was bright and very clean in the hallway. It was convenient for our dog and cost only $25.

I was very disappointed with my room. There was an over whelming smell of Fabulouso. The most alarming part of my room was the 2-3 inch gap at the base of the room door. I heard every noise in the hallway and I didn’t feel safe in my room. Unfortunately due to this I will not return.
