Staff was friendly, check in was a breeze, breakfast was typical, and the price very reasonable. The liens could use updating some staining was present. Carpets need to be shampooed and fixtures updated. The stay was good overall for the price.

Super clean and very friendly staff. Very convenient to downtown. Elevator was having some trouble but other than that highly recommend as a budget option.

The check-in experience was excellent. Skip at the front desk was exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and professional. His warm hospitality set a very positive tone for my stay. Breakfast was also better than expected, with a good variety of options and quality that exceeded what I anticipated. Combined with the comfortable accommodations and attentive service, the hotel offered excellent value for money. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would gladly return in the future.

A septic system smell in the bathroom was a problem for us that maintenance couldn't fix. The hotel was full, so we had to put up with it.

Affordable and good location.

Good central location

Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were not as clean as I expect for a hotel. Hair in the shower/tub and on the toilet and mirror. The garbage can outside was overflowing and needed to be emptied.

Great staff.

Convenient location The noise. People yelling in the hallway, dog barking, just a lot of noise.

The hotel is clean and the room is nice. Hotel staff is completely incompetent. They could not find the record of my reservation when I checked in then they charged me the wrong amount on my credit card. When I checked out, I got a printed receipt for one amount, and then a charge on my credit card for more.when I called the hotel to ask about that, it took me five calls to actually get through to the front desk. They told me they had no record at all of my stay there. The charge is now in dispute with the credit card company. I’m happy that I got a printed receipt.

This was my first time staying at this property, and I will definitely stay again. The hotel was very clean and the young lady that checked us in was extremely helpful and had very good recommendations; as this was my first time visiting Charlottesville. I will definitely come back to stay with them again.
- 4/5
It was fine, but very hard to find from the road!
- 3/5
The bed was great. The pillows were terrible- bring your own. The walls were paper thin.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable property.
- 4/5
few parking spaces available, but we were able to park. breakfast fine, coffee cups were TOO SMALL.
- 5/5
It was a nice, comfortable hotel with friendly staff.
- 5/5
Everything was great! No complaints here.
- 5/5
My only complaint is the sound of doors slamming in the hallway but this seems to be a problem at many hotels . The walls on either side seem pretty sound proof but the one to the hall not so much! Otherwise the stay was great !
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room and hotel were very clean and beautiful.
- 5/5
Easy check-in, friendly staff. Immaculate room, comfortable beds, grateful for the fridge & microwave. Plentiful and delicious breakfast & coffee. Reasonably priced.
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 2/5
Plenty of parking. Room and hotel were clean. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly. However the bed and pillows were horrible. The pillows felt like stiff foam and the bed was so firm. I could not sleep. The comforter/sheets were so thin I thought they didn’t put any on the bed. I would not stay here again.

Clean, Pleasant< Property
- 5/5
Good location, very clean and staff very cordial!
- 5/5
Well operated hotel in a good location. Parking was easy and ample. Friendly helpful staff.
- 4/5
Overall decent property. Staff was very nice. I think the bathrooms need updating, as well as the mirror in the hall leading to the beds. Breakfast was ok, but I think it can be better.
- 5/5
Would totally stay here again!
- 5/5
It was clean and pretty quiet. There is a small work out room and a basic breakfast as well as microwave and mini fridge in the room. The parking was no problem
- 5/5
Great room, great service, clean, quiet and very comfortable bed and pillows! Not to mention a great price for the night. What else can you ask for? Decent breakfast options also. Will definitely stay again when back in area.
- 5/5
My room was great. Quiet stay from noise. Wonderful staff. Thanks for the late night coffee and conversation.
- 5/5
The entrance to the hotel is also the exit from the Raising Cain's Chicken Fingers, I recommend going in the RCCF entrance and cut across the parking lot to Clarion Pointe.
- 5/5
Kind staff and good breakfast
- 3/5
Did not serve advertised breakfast for lack of staff. Staff that was there was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly. The rooms were extremely clean. The beds are very comfortable.
- 5/5
Superior staff! Nice breakfast. Nice older (15+) building that is seeing investment and improvement. The price was beyond right! If you need the latest and greatest, pay accordingly and go elsewhere. If you need a very nice newly renovated room with a friendly staff, good amenities and an amazing price - you have it here!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, new and clean
- 4/5
Parking was ok but there was not a lot of it. The lobby area was very tight. There were two guests checking in at the same time and I had to go back outside and wait until they were done.
- 4/5
Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable room - pillows a bit soft for our liking, but everything else was very good.
- 4/5
front desk gentleman was lovely! very kind
- 4/5
Clean room, breakfast biscuits and coffee good.
- 3/5
No coffee at breakfast, no forks either. Faucet in bathroom was’t working properly.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Skip and the rest of the staff are top notch!
- 4/5
Very clean and comfortable
- 5/5
This was conveniently located near UVA and a reasonable price for just an overnight stay. I appreciated the staff helping us check in early, though I had trouble getting through on the phone. The rooms are clean and well stocked and everyone was friendly. Was a bit of a struggle showering with the moving spray thing though tbh.
- 1/5
they canceled my stay without telling us!
- 5/5
Excellent location to UVA, clean and safe
- 1/5
The worker left the property, and no one came back. We had an issue with towels; we couldn't purchase water.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay for a football game and touring in and around Charlottesville. The front desk folks are very accommodating and friendly, the wifi is good, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was great. Can't beat the location, either. A++
- 5/5
Stag is accommodating
- 3/5
Breakfast area: need more selections, maybe some hot food options. Pretty much all bread options. Coffee was good.
- 5/5
Always an amazing stay here.
- 4/5
Nice room and staff
- 4/5
This was not the alarm clock I wanted at 1:35AM across my face
- 2/5
The breakfast (if you could even call it that) was terrible, floors and bathrooms were dirty, the facility overall was just run down.
- 3/5
We have stayed here before, and the hotel was very good. This time we were put on the first floor, previous visits we were on the higher floors. Unfortunately, this time we could hear everything in the rooms next-door, and the bed was very uncomfortable.
- 1/5
The breakfast is so bad.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, bathroom well stocked, shower strong and warm.
- 2/5
The staff is very friendly. That being said the first room I was in had a terrrible smell. They did move me - but they room was double booked and someone tried to walk on when i was changing. I stayed there before and it was fine. I saw a huge decline in the facility this time.
- 4/5
Good, as expected. No big problems.
- 2/5
At this point, we insisted that the staff physically check the third room before handing us another key. We followed them upstairs, and thankfully, they knocked—because someone answered the door. That’s three occupied rooms in a row. Finally, the fourth room was unoccupied and clean enough to stay in. This experience was not only frustrating, but also deeply concerning from a safety and privacy standpoint. The hotel’s booking system is clearly disorganized and insecure. We were stunned by how casually the staff handled something so serious. Would not recommend.
- 4/5
It was very quiet considering the location. Tough to turn into the driveway. Staff was very friendly and professional. One odd thing though....no fan in the bathroom.
- 1/5
I booked rooms at this hotel and got confirmation. I had a crew traveling from out of town. When they got to the hotel, they were told that there were no rooms available and were turned away
- 2/5
Lobby area was worn and could be cleaner. Breakfast was very limited although all I needed was coffee and that was fine.
- 1/5
Went back to front desk and they somehow didnt know? Then said that they didnt have a king room only a different room with a queen but would not give any refund for the difference. Very sketch. Avoid.
- 4/5
Stash are great
- 4/5
Staff nice
- 5/5
The manager was very nice, as was the rest of the staff. The manager seemed to be there most of the time. Breakfast was hot and tasty with eggs, bacon, toasts, bagels, cereal, fruit, several coffees, yogurt. The fresh waffle machine worked. They even had a certain exotic tea that I liked on hand, (Bigelow Green Tea with Ginger). And breakfast on the weekends extends to 10am, which is a Godsend after a night of partying. The elevator was quick, with 2 cars for almost no waiting. There was an indoor pool, weight room, and a walking path in back of the hotel. It had a free parking garage for security. Generally no complaints. Oh, and the shower generated a powerful flow of steamy water for a satisfying shower.
- 5/5
Staff is very accomodating
- 4/5
They do good service.
- 4/5
So far so good. Looks this effort for a different hotel made me scared.
- 4/5
Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast and the lobby area was disappointing.
- 4/5
The common areas of the hotel were well kept and clean; no issues. The continental breakfast was sufficient; nothing to get excited about, but they had waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, etc. The room was also well kept and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but fixtures needed some work. The front desk staff were ok. They got the job done, but were neither professional nor friendly. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful.
- 1/5
Front desk staff was courteous but she had to call her manager to answer my questions. There was no manager on site. Horrible experience! I also didn’t get my Choice Points for my reservation.
- 3/5
Furniture was very dirty.
- 3/5
Room was ok but the television did not work
- 2/5
Internet not working. Loud alarm sound for two nights in a row around our room 416. Handle in bathroom came off in our hands. Poor maintenance. Washer and dryer worked fine
- 1/5
Ran into terrible weather on the way to our destination and was unable to make it due to it being late at night and mixed with dangerous weather conditions. Called to see if it was possible to get a refund or possibly change to a closer hotel, but was told they couldn’t do that.
- 4/5
This is an acceptable and economical option for an overnight stay in the area. The entrance is difficult to find, and you're likely to pass it coming from either direction. My room was clean and up-to-date, with a mini fridge and microwave. No one was at the front desk for check-in when I arrived. The wait was probably less than 10 minutes. The complimentary breakfast was just okay. A lot of carbs and no fresh fruit. The long, tall table intended for laptop use was full of tiny dead bugs from the overhead lighting, I suppose, but no one came by to clean it the whole time I was there.
- 3/5
This was my worst visit to Clarion in Cville. The room reeked of mildew and running the a/c didn’t help.
- 5/5
Great
- 2/5
Front desk staff was welcoming and pleasant. Gave me keys to an already-occupied room, which was shocking and embarrassing for both my family and the occupants of the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower water pressure was great, but we saw two cockroaches. Breakfast was good, but was not opened on time.
- 5/5
I have stayed in several different hotels in the Charlottesville area, on my visits there over the past 3 years. This was my first stay at Clarion Pointe. I was pleasantly impressed with the whole experience. It had everything that other more expensive hotels offer, but the Clarion offered a very attractive price. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I will definitely stay at the Clarion Pointe on my return to Charlottesville, and I will recommend this little surprise gem of a hotel to my family and friends. Thank you, Clarion Pointe, for a lovely experience!
- 3/5
They did not have a pool. The wifi was horrible, plus they didn't give you a password to use. When we tried to call down to the front desk, the phone didn't work.
- 3/5
We left for the day at 10 am, came back by 11 that night and our room was never cleaned and we weren't given any fresh towels. The walls are VERY thin. We could hear the conversations of both of our neighbors who weren't being loud at all. Breakfast was simple but good. Staff was friendly. Ample parking.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and courteous. They made sure your stay was good.
- 1/5
They overbooked the hotel and didn’t have a room for us. They called at 7pm leaving us with nowhere to stay as every hotel had sold out. The front desk staff was very unhelpful.
- 4/5
Nothing special, but clean and quiet.
- 4/5
The coffee was cold in the lobby.
- 2/5
Dirty floors and bathroom. Coffee and water station in lobby was filthy
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and our room was clean. The building really could use some upgrades. The elevator was a tad sketchy, the bathroom doesnt have an exhaust so after a shower the whole bathroom is dripping with condensation, the TV options were lacking. Overall the stay was fine, but the hotel needs to invest in some upgrades
- 2/5
The elevator did not work (we were on the 4th floor), the AC was very loud and there was a bad smell.
- 2/5
Unattended reception desk for 10 min. when we arrived. Milk at breakfast was curdled.
- 4/5
Breakfast service was disappointing. Waffle machines never got hot enough to bake a waffle.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and very helpful room was clean
- 4/5
Overall fine stay with one exception. There was a minor fire ( that could have gotten bigger) in the breakfast area and the person at the desk did not know what to do.
- 5/5
Great customer service. Thank you!
- 5/5
One night stay......Great experience with customer service. The room was clean, but late at night i woke up to bad smells throughout the room...like a toilet or sewage backed up. The smell was gone by the morning and everything in the bathroom seemed ok.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful while we were there. But I called afterwards to see if a jacket was found and I honestly don't think anyone really looked for it. Stay was fine though
- 2/5
Had real need to check in about 2 hours early (@2pm). Desk clerk flat refused said manager said no - he would be fired. Manager "out-to-lunch". Had a non-refundable, had to change in a rest room. Then once in room, door to bathroom would not close without lot of force. One and done place.
- 4/5
I like the this hotel because it is convenient for our appointments at the University of Virginia. Food, gas and other convenience were near by.
- 3/5
The location is difficult to reach, and very crowded.
- 5/5
Nice area clean & safe
- 5/5
Super friendly staff. Very clean and great facility.
- 3/5
Clean no odors no room service unless requested
- 2/5
We reserved a room with two queen beds for 3 nights. When we arrived we were told they only had a room with a king bed for the first night and we could move to a different room the next night. Not happy but “went with it”. Get up to room and settle into bed then a stranger opened our door (with a key card). He was told he had our room number assigned to him. He went back to desk. A few minutes later staff came to our door to ask our name so she could @staighten it out”. The next morning when I went down for breakfast there was no regular sugar available for coffee (they were waiting for o truck) and when I asked for cream cheese for my bagel I got a bit of an attitude from the attendant. When I returned to my room , my key card didn’t work! Very frustrating. The place was clean, but not well managed☹️
- 5/5
It is a very clean and lovely property. It is safe and quiet. I would highly recommend.
- 2/5
The front desk staff was so unclean that I couldn’t stand there due to the smell. The person had the same clothes on everyday we were there for 4 days!! The breakfast room had roaches around the oatmeal toppings and the waffle mix was literally water!! There was no one even there to tell. HORRIBLE experience and will never stay again!!! They need to do better!!!
- 3/5
Very basic, but convenient location, reasonably clean and modern. Breakfast was terrible. Not quite Marriot Bonvoy, but just a dressed up motel.
- 3/5
Sink wasn’t working/clogged, not too much hot water
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful so not upset, but the central office said we could arrive late in the evening, and when we showed up they labeled us a no show. So, call them directly if you will be arriving late. Great hotel stay.
- 3/5
Too many pets and as a result, would not stay there again. Daciliry result
- 2/5
The front desk never checked me in- marked me as a no-show- four day stay each night had to get a new room key after working 14 hours. The breakfast was basically kool aid, cold coffee and toast. Asked front desk how to cast on the tv- told multiple times that that they would get back to me- which they never did. To get to guide in tv had to turn tv on and off each time. Clean and the female staff was extremely friendly-
- 1/5
I was in Virginia visiting and stayed at this hotel for a night. I had to cross a double highway to get in. No dining. Service was ok but rooms were gross and area felt really unsafe. I’m surprised there is a hotel allowed by state laws to even be there. Waste of money and time
- 3/5
The front desk is nice. The first room had garage in the bucket and around it. She was very nice and changed our room. The next room had a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet
- 5/5
Upon arrival the computer system was down and we were delayed to check in. However the gentleman at the front desk recognized we needed to be somewhere, he was able to fast track us to our room by confirming it was ready with other staff and manually taking my information. This was terrific service. The only complaint I have about this hotel was I reserved the room on the wrong date in error and I failed to see the print that that my reservation was non refundable even though I didn’t cancel, I simply rescheduled. Be careful on this property when you reserve in the event you need to make a change. Otherwise, this was a great stay.

- 3/5
Water in shower was barely warm. No improvement after request to increase temperature
- 5/5
I like this place because is close to everything and has nice rooms with good beds.
- 4/5
It’s a little hard to get to but is a nice place.
- 4/5
Enjoyed my staff however did not care for the breakfast. Not much selection
- 4/5
Second time there. Staff was very friendly. They keep it very clean. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Easy check-in/check-out. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Very clean! Beds were comfortable!
- 4/5
It was a great day. There was some confusion between Expedia‘s website and the hotel we were unprepared to pay upfront with a card. We had cash cause that’s what the website told us to bring. Therefore, we we’re stuckin a hard spot when we were told we couldn’t pay cash and just put the deposit for the room on a debit card or credit card which would’ve been fine if that’s what we had planned to do and walk in for five blocks after having to drive into downtown New York City to put a couple hundred dollars on a card so you can check into a room that you have the money to pay for on hand

PS: Vacuum the eleevator.

I never actually got to stay at this hotel. I have a terminal disorder and booked a trip to Charlottesville for my birthday months ago to attend a concert and reserved a room at the Clarion Pointe Hotel. At some point I received a voicemail saying that my room was no longer available, and the hotel arbitrarily canceled my reservation. After the concert, when I had access to my phone, I tried calling, probably a dozen times and no one would answer. After traveling 3 hours and staying up until almost 11 pm, I was exhausted. I called their corporate office, and the representative showed rooms available, and rebooked a room for me at the hotel and was going to call their front desk to let them know I was on my way, and find out what happened. When I arrived at the hotel per corporate instructions to check-in the front desk clerk stood there with a postured look and said that there were no rooms available, even though there were several people behind me checking in by this point. The corporate office was trying to call them while I was standing there, and with the phone ringing, the clerk ignoring it, I demanded he answer. He spoke to their office and in doing so showed 7 rooms available! Even then he said they had overbooked and was unable to provide me a room, even though I had a reservation that THEY canceled earlier in the evening. I went apoplectic at that point, and drove 3 hours back home, permanently disabled, and exhausted, both mentally and physically.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient
- 3/5
The lobby is clean and the building seems to be in a safe place. The entrance is tricky as it is behind a Raising Canes Restaurant and the parking lot is kind of tight but no real complaints there. You can tell they recently renovated the building but some concerns there. The room was clean but we saw tiny evidence of mold around the window. Leads me to think the fresh paint may have just covered something that should have been fixed. Beds were comfortable and we slept great. TV had some issues randomly but still worked. Shower took a while to get hot and was above luke warm. The breakfast the next day is what we expected. Waffle maker, cereal, muffins, yogurt and frozen breakfast sandwiches. They kept running out of coffee which was annoying. All in all this place is what we needed. We were only there to sleep as we came in for a concert at John Paul Arena which is only 1.5 miles away in a straight shot which was perfect. Would recommend for a quick trip but if staying in the room for an expanded period of time, you can do better.
- 1/5
Could not check in at 4:00. Breakfast was a joke. No coffee and orange juice wasn’t orange juice. Staff was not available at the front desk in the morning. Alarm clock went off at 4:45 am.
- 5/5
Everything was great! I was a little rude to the receptionist at first because we had a terrible 5 hour drive in and we had to wait for a hotel room, but ended up being fine because the receptionist was absolutely amazing. She made everybody comfortable. Everything was cool. She was very calm and very Intuitive and very attentive to everyone and we did not even have to really wait that long so I apologized for being upset and she again was great! 10/10 customer service for sure!! Will be looking for this hotel for next time we are in the area for a concert!!
- 5/5
Clean and friendly
- 1/5
Everything was horrible, when we went to eat breakfast, there was nothing to eat or drink. $100 extra to hold for what? an empty box of tissue, no shampoo and ....
- 5/5
I really appreciate it. Strongly recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Hotel was fine for price. The breakfast was disappointing and out of most options. Thankful for lower prices option. Good location.
- 5/5
Great for a night or two. Large room, comfortable beds, large restroom.
- 1/5
there’s this black young chubby lady at the front desk , not friendly if you’re Hispanic. If you’re Caucasian she’s lovely , I’ve notice something on her attitude the first time I did a check in, but the second time definitely was obvious. Very friendly with the Caucasian couple on front of me, but when was my turn not a single smile nor a friendly attitude. Also she give me an higher price than what they told me on the previous day. also they need a proper training before they start doing check inns, it takes forever to get your room. Hispanic brothers, don’t spend your money on places where they allow employees to make you feel unwelcome.
- 4/5
The beds were comfortable and provided a good sleep. The staff were wonderful and always available to help.
- 4/5
We were in town for a ballet audition for my daughter. It was a short stay, but staff was friendly and helpful, and room was clean and quiet. It was a great value. We did not take advantage of the breakfast because we didn't have time.
- 1/5
Day weekend shift manager was in pleasant, rude didn't smile or appear friei. Very disappointed.
- 1/5
Threaten to have me removed from the property because I was telling her my concerns. Told all the last managers were fired. Not professional at all
