The only thing that needs improvement is the breakfast. The selection is very minimal to say the least. In my opinion they could add Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and some yogurt even some fresh fruit as examples.
- 4/5
Wish other options for breakfast were offered other than carbohydrates (waffles, cereal, toast, muffins, and bagels…)
- 3/5
The staff was nice but the property is not. The rooms are okay. Mediocre. The continental breakfast was minimum. Cereal, waffles, crusty danishes and toast. There was some loud guests. I know the hotel can't help who stays there but there were people fighting upstairs, outside, in the stairs and it started at 4 am and ended at like 6 am. Don't know why the cops weren't called. The people shouldve been kicked off the property.

It was affordable and suitable for a trip to alumni weekend at UVA, and it was close to the university. It’s not fancy but it was clean and worked well!
- 4/5
The room was clean. The bathroom had some mold around the sink, but was relatively clean. The bed is extremely squeaky, but it was clean and the pillows were nice. The staff were helpful and respectful as well. Overall a good stay
- 3/5
Management was nice. The door of the room was repaired so many times, there was a big gap- not a secure feeling. The toilet kept running, like it was leaking. Otherwise the beds were clean and bathroom was very clean.
- 1/5
The room was small and noisy, and even though it was non-smoking, smelled like smoke. I would recommend to keep driving past this one!

This is a cheap motel next to a lot of other cheap motels. With that in mind, the staff running the front desk were exceedingly pleasant and the room and sheets was clean, although it smelled slightly of cigar.

The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was acceptable but slightly lacking. Staff was friendly but the lady at check in must have been tired, she didn't seem like she wanted to be there.

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for overnight while visiting Charlottesville. Location was very good. Close to plenty of stores and eateries. Easy on easy off of major highway. Hotel is clustered with two other hotels so it's a bit tricky getting to this hotel. Clean, safe neighborhood. Well maintained property. Plenty of self parking. Check in was quick and efficient. Staff very personable. Room was very clean. Vinyl flooring. No carpet. AC worked well. Plenty of lights in the room and also plenty of outlets for electronics. Excellent WiFi. Nice sized TV with good channel selection. Fridge, coffee maker and microwave in the room. Clean linens and bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Bed very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was very adequate ie waffles, muffins, bagels, juice, yogurt, coffee. Check out very quick and efficient also. This was a very nice hotel. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

When we returned after an excursion from the day, the maid service had gone in (we had forgot to put out the DND sign) and they replaced towels and emptied trash (which was find).... BUT. when they left, they did not pull door shut all of the way so they left our door unlocked and ajar!! Luckily no one came in, all of our things were there and undisturbed but it could have been a lot different. I reported it to front desk with little to no response.

Good hotel Our neighbors had the TV on literally all night; we couldn’t sleep. It was the worst night in a hotel
- 4/5
Room was clean
- 2/5
I did like that fact that when you open the door anybody can see you laying in the bed
- 5/5
Room was spotless, beds were comfy (not so much the pillows), love those waffle makers for breakfast, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the parking area was very well lit. Very good Asian restaurant across the street. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
Property nicer than I expected. Staff was very nice and helpful and the room was well-furnished and clean. My only concern is that the faciliy is not as well-constructed and sound carries everywhere, from outside and even the plumbing. There appear to be a lot of transient working people staying there, and they have to leave very early in the morning, so it got kind of noisy, even though I had no problem with any other customers. The breakfast was, as another reviewer put it, a little too "basic," but the food was not bad. Overally a pretty good deal for an affordable price.
- 5/5
Very helpful staff, bed was comfortable, and location was great.

I usually leave everyday around 7am and return after dark. It's nice to be able to walk in to a clean and inviting space as I am always able to do here Not much. The faucet in room 243 is kinda like a rocket. A lot of pressure if you aren't careful turning it on

Parking was tight, breakfast could use eggs and maybe less sweets, maybe fresh fruit and yogurt. Concierge was very polite and friendly. Much nicer than the days in next door.

It would’ve been a great stay if it hadn’t been for the two women waking me up in the middle of the night fighting in the parking lot.
- 1/5
Did not feel safe while there.
- 1/5
Want to save a few dollars by staying at the cheapest place in Cville? This is it. But you get what you pay for and what you do not. Know that you will be sharing walls with the truly wretched of the earth. Laughing and yelling one minute and then crying the next because they’re drunk or high and their friends won’t let them drive home at 3:45 am. The hotel actually leaves ear plugs over by the tv and my wife and I thought that it was for the somewhat nearby highway. Hahaha nope.
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Convenient with easy parking and friendly staff
- 1/5
Horrible. We left after seeing the room. Over $200 per night was insane. Our credit card charge was credited as per our request. Huge dead bug as we entered the room. No soap. Toilet paper holder was literally hanging off the wall. What a dilapidated mess
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
We had to wait until the next day when additional staff requested to come in because our downstairs neighbors dealt with dripping water all night. Finally after I mentioned my concern at using the shower we were given a new shower curtain, and it worked perfectly. Aside from this, the stay was okay. I wouldn’t choose it again however.
- 3/5
I thought it was weird the hotel gives you packaged ear plugs Right then I knew highway outside was loud. I turned on the a/c all night and it wasn’t too bad. After the a/c was run for most of the day the musty smell was much less.

As per the hotel policy on housekeeping days I caged my dog “fur baby” and left her in the room while I was out at work. She was perfectly healthy and in great spirits when I left. However when I returned everything had changed my dog was unable to walk, she was vomiting, not eating, not barking and clearly not herself. When I’m off and it house keeping day she’s normal, she will get caged and come back. This only happened when I was gone for more than 2-3 hours. Immediately reported this to the front desk attendant which was Luna who was compassionated and professional, she escalated the issue to her manager name Pinki whose response was shockingly dismissive and careless. Tragically my dog passed away a few days later. I’ve made multiple attempts to speck with management Pinki since then, but my calls have gone unanswered and unreturned. This experience has been devastating I entrusted this PET FRIENDLY HOTEL with basic level of safety and care during my stay and that trust was broken in the worst possible way,I’m sharing this in hopes that no other pet owners has to go through what I’m going through.

Will never stay at another Red Roof Inn as long as I live.
- 5/5
This is all about value for money. The Red Roof Inn in Charlottesville delivers, and it's no charge pet policy is very much appreciated. The room is not spacious, but that's the only negative, way overwhelmed by positives in every other category.
- 4/5
We would definitely stay there again
- 5/5
It was great
- 4/5
Luna, the front desk lady helped me in this and could change my room. Also, she was very helpful with information. Thanks to Luna! The property needs maintenance.
- 4/5
The property seems to be controlled by some underground operation. Mostly foreign immigrants as maids. One day my room was not cleaned.sobehaved suspiciously.
- 4/5
The location was convenient. The AC unit made a weird sound every so often that interrupted my sleep. It sounded like someone was opening trash bags just outside the door but nobody was there. There was a fly and some small flying bugs coming out of the bathroom sink.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay I would stay again
- 5/5
We stayed one night due to an early doctor’s appointment. It was quiet and nice.

Would not stay here again. Felt unsafe. Loud during the night, couldn’t sleep.
- 5/5
This Red Roof does its job. It is a fine place to stay if you are just looking to crash while saving a few dollars. We stayed here for a concert at UVA and we wanted a place that we could walk to after the show to avoid being stuck in traffic. It was perfect. It is an older motel that has done the best that can be done without a complete remodel which would raise the price of the rooms. The bed was made, there were clean towels and hot water. Actually, the water pressure was amazing. The complimentary coffee was good. Easy parking. Fast check in. This place does the trick. Much better than I expected!
- 5/5
Nice. Thought we had bed bugs but we did not
- 5/5
clean and convenient.
- 3/5
It had a continental breakfast
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
I didn’t stay long, but my interactions with the receptionist was pleasant enough. My only gripe is that with it being so close to a busy road, the sound of traffic at all hours might be off-putting to anyone not used to sleeping in loud environments. Ear plugs were provided, but it’s a poor substitute for having a quiet room.
- 5/5
Everything was good. Enjoyed the stay.
- 4/5
Everything was great... the only issue was with parking... only one designated smoking area and the vending machines were cash only... night staff didn't have change and had to get water from the hotel across the street. Breakfast was good and coffee was excellent. The only bad thing was the morning clerks, upon checkout, stated they couldn't give me a receipt because i doesn't reserve the room through them... did not have that issue at a different Hotel chain that we stayed the night before.
- 4/5
Noisy Air conditioner (didn't like).
- 5/5
My Empress (Wife) was in Labor at Martha Jefferson to Our 4th Son while Our Sons ages 4 & 1 stayed here with the Sitter
- 4/5
Small place, but everything you needed, clean, decent breakfast, etc.
- 4/5
While it’s clearly an older budget motel, it was well-maintained and served its purpose perfectly for a short stay. The room was very clean, which is always my top priority. The staff stood out as especially friendly and helpful. We even found a nice unexpected gift in the room: a reusable clear bag, water bottles, and snacks to take to UVA graduation events. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay with solid hospitality and proximity to UVA, the Red Roof Inn is a great option.
- 5/5
The staff were great, the room was clean, and everything worked fine - especially for a budget property. Well done.
- 4/5
Staff is very Friedly, but the breakfast is too simple - no eggs and hot milk available.
- 3/5
Front desk service was good, but the motel and rooms are deteriorating and the repairs we observed were shoddy. The room smelled strongly of ammonia when we arrived, perhaps to disguise other odors. The water pressure in the shower was excellent.
- 1/5
I have bug bites all over my legs and arms.
- 4/5
Nice customers service
- 2/5
They was repairing the floor and keep me a wake
- 5/5
We would stay there again.

- 1/5
Terrible hotel in unsafe area. Guest in next room had a party until 3am. The hotel staff did not do anything. no sound proofing, noisy, gap through door and door frame.
- 5/5
Pantops was experiencing a power outage and Red Roof was able to accommodate us on short notice for the night. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Enjoyed a quick overnight stay here. Room was clean and had comfy beds. Could hear the highway every now and then, but not a big deal. Thanks for a nice stay!

There wasn't anything I didn't like, it was just an average experience.
- 2/5
TV didn’t work. Very disappointed. Kids running around all day and night.
- 3/5
Tv was not hooked up properly, so I couldn’t use it at all. Couple outside fighting at 2 am, that was a real treat! Office check-in person personality was lacking. The property was clean, as was the room, aside from the other issues mentioned above.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly, it means a lot as someone who struggles with intense anxiety. They made me feel welcome. Can’t wait to come back.
- 4/5
We will attend to the chapel at UVA. The hotel is few mins to the place we have to go and some restaurants, shopping, etc. around here. Convenient. Room is excellent, comfortable, quiet and clean. One of the best stay in three weeks after X'mas trip. Price is generously set incl. breakfast. I got third floor (top floor) and used an elevator. We will be back for some events to stay here. Thank you for the management people.
- 3/5
Noisy but fine.
- 3/5
Stay awesome, front desk employees horrible
- 3/5
The room was wonder, the customer service was horrible, to make someone with a disability , climb up stairs smh!
- 3/5
The heater did not work but the room was cleaned and we had a safe night.
- 4/5
When I stay here was great we was in town to see jelly roll in concert last minute and booked and had a great time the room smelled a little weird dude to the cleaning product that they use but other than that it was a great place great service friendly people
- 4/5
Great value for the price
- 5/5
Room was clean location is convenient
- 5/5
The room was spacious. Hot water was easily available. The room came with ear plugs. We never used the ear plugs but it was a little noisy outside. Parking was good. The bed was comfortable. Overall no complaints.
- 5/5
Having gone to school in Charlottesville, I knew the Red Roof isn't exactly the newest product on the block. However, for a vintage building, the team there has made their rooms as clean & polished as possible & staff was very helpful upon check in. It was clear they were giving full effort to make each guest comfortable. Compared to other choices that were $200 a night, there is good value here for the middle price range. Downsides were that the continental breakfast was pretty sparse (we skipped it) and we had two bugs in our room. Upside was the Jacuzzi in the larger room was awesome, worked like a charm & I would totally book again. Unusual to have it next to the bed but actually very fun for kids or of course those special date nights 💋❤
- 5/5
Everything was ok
- 4/5
Staff not as engaging as compared to staff from other hotels we stayed at during this trip. BEST showerhead we have ever experienced in any hotel! It’s better than the one we have at home!
- 1/5
This hotel is an embarrassment. The employees were rude and incompetent. The entire hotel was filthy. It located in an isolated area that is walkable to absolutely nothing.
- 2/5
This hotel was not up to the standards of a Red Roof Inn, or of any operational hotel chain in the world. The soap dispenser by the sink would only dispense a tiny drip of soap and the body wash dispenser in the bath tub did not work at all. The remote for the tv did not work and was covered in chocolate. When we called the front desk to tell them about the soap dispensers, they were rude and told us to use the shampoo instead. At checkout, front desk staff didn’t ask how our stay was, apparently because they do not care about customer satisfaction at all.
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly!
- 4/5
I liked that it was quiet and in a convenient location. I didn’t like that the grass in back was overgrown; my dog didn’t want to go near it and I was worried about ticks.
- 4/5
The receptionist was amazing! Great personality, kind, and helpful.
- 5/5

- 4/5

Front desk personnel was awesome
- 3/5
Says hotel, but it's a motel.
- 2/5
Sink pressure absurdly and dangerously high. Very, very noisy.
- 4/5
For the price, it is a fine place to stay and the customer service was great.
- 2/5
Bed sheets and towels had various stains on them. Toilet dirty. Ants crawling on the sheets. Overall this hotel is disgusting.
- 3/5
clean room, exterior and lobby could use updating, but the room was ok
- 3/5
Elevator broken. Got rooms opposite sides of the building. Wasn't a very pleasant staff who checked us in.
- 5/5
The staff was outstanding and very helpful.
- 5/5
Very clean, quiet and convenient! Thank you
- 1/5
Front desk bald guy was very rude. Don’t work in hospitality if you don’t know how to talk to people.
- 4/5
The staff at the front desk wasn't courteous, I was promised a room on the lower level but never received the accomodations.
- 5/5
Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the jetted tub was wonderful after our long drive, there was plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower and the self-serve breakfast was terrific.
