English Inn of Charlottesville

The room was clean and the breakfast was good. However, the pictures of the property lead you to feel there's a nice garden to sit outside. It's in a different unit than we had but is accessible. It's very small and no sitting area. Felt trapped in our room.

The English Inn has an old English feel. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was buffet was super each day I was there (4 days). From 4-6pm each day there is tea and fresh baked cookies. I took a day trip to Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home) and enjoyed it immensely. The Inn is located near many shops, grocery stores, and the University of Virginia where my granddaughter was attending a swim camp. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was clean. I enjoyed the breakfast. However the staff was not all that helpful and lacked a pleasant and helpful answer to questions asked.

Shower didn't drain, everything else was fine. We really liked breakfast options.

The bed was too hard and there were people in the hallway at 2:00am making noise on a Monday night. It was a handicap accessible room and you could not turn a wheelchair around with out issues. Breakfast was so,so.

Told me to wait three minutes. Ride showed up, and I went hungry. -Checked in on Friday, out on Tuesday. Never saw housekeeping once. Trash was overflowing so I told the front desk... I kid you not they just handed me some trash bags. -Same with towels. Front desk was bothered when I asked for more clean towels.

The staff is very polite and the breakfast is remarkably good for the stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable too

It was very clean and the breakfast was great. We had a room door that was sticking and very extremely hard to close. The pool was closed the whole week we were there and had not been advertised as such. Over all our stay was nice but only deserved a 3 or 4 star.

When we checked in there was a sign saying the pool was closed for the week for maintenance (disappointing since it is a big selling feature) … it would’ve been nice to know before booking. The clerk at check-in couldn’t have been less welcoming. We get up to our room and greeted by big stain in the carpet, mold above the shower, a few black hairs in the shower. So a little sketchy. The rest of the room and linens were clean. Breakfast was adequate. It is very conveniently located close to the highway.

My luck the pool was closed and I had not checked before hand. The gym was lacking with few options. The bed was quite comfortable and the AC worked quite well. Hotel provides a breakfast bar which had decent options.

Breakfast was good. It's 7-10am, but start to clean up at 9:30a. Bed was very comfortable.

Excellent value in a great location. Clean, recently refurbed bathroom. Older AC unit, worked well but noisy. Lots of poor quality pillows. Rooms are not sound proof for outdoor noise. I suggest a room on the backside of building.

Good well proportioned rooms and excellent bathroom The lady on reception was not very helpful. We were three ladies travelling together but had separate rooms and requested to have rooms near each other. She was quite dismissive about the request and managed to separate us by floors!! Despite there clearly being rooms close to each other. Also the breakfast was advertised up to 9.30am but they started to remove everything at 9.10am. Plus they put the waste bins next to our table whilst we were still eating

The English Inn theme was delightful and tasteful. Our spacious room opened to a small courtyard with live trees and birds chirping yet it was surprisingly quiet in the room. The husband liked the breakfast. We would stay again if in the area.

That was enough for me I’d stay there again.

Breakfast, attendants were friendly and breakfast was plenty. The pool was undergoing maintenance and I was planning on using it, so that made me sad.

I really love this local hotel. So beautiful and historical. I especially adore British style and they even provided afternoon cookies and tea for the hotel guests.

Room was fine,breakfast very good,afternoon tea nice idea,everywhere was clean.Our biggest complaint was the pool advertised was closed, staff said we should have called before we booked,the website didnt say it was closed until we point it out,then it changed to pool closed. There was no plug in bathroom sink and shower curtain rested on the top of shower tray which as curtain moved floor got soaked.

English Inn is a very nice place. The price varies greatly from day to day, so if you are watching your expenses, make sure to check ahead of time.

Great stay! Each and every staff member should get a raise for being very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet along with the tea and sweets each afternoon. The only quirky bit for us was the ac/heat unit.

Convenient location

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times before. It is our go to hotel at our halfway trip to the Ocean City Maryland area. It is always consistently clean staff very friendly, very nice pool, well-maintained, very clean and spacious rooms, including the bathrooms. We are always impressed with the breakfast in particular, which is full service, there are many different selections for breakfast. The separate dining area is extra special. We have stayed here several times before and have never found anything not to like.

The breakfast was great, clean and very well stocked. I used Expedia to book the room because it was cheaper than the hospital rate for UVA when I called the The English Inn.

I liked everything about this hotel. The only reason for the lower facility rating is that they were doing a bit of remodeling while we were there but it was not intrusive in any way. Scott, the manager, was extremely helpful in organizing our multiple reservations and making sure our rooms were exactly what we needed. The hotel is close to everything and the breakfast was delicious! Good HOT choices, not just basics.

We had a wonderful stay at the English Inn. While it is an older hotel, we found it to be exceptionally clean and comfortable. Our room was very nice and quiet, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were good quality. The employees were very helpful and friendly. Although we didn't have a chance to enjoy tea and cookies each afternoon, we thought that was a very nice touch. Each floor had a comfortable sitting area and the lobby had several nice sitting areas as well. The breakfasts were very good with numerous options to suit various appetites and dietary needs. The Inn is conviently located to main roads, highways, and downtown. We will definitely stay at the inn on future trips to Charlottesville.

Staff was very friendly. Room was just average, mainly disappointed in the shower. After a long day of driving, just low water pressure and small shower head so felt like no water was hitting me. Also very hard to sleep through the night with the noise from the traffic outside, every 5 minutes was hearing police sirens.

This was my first time staying at this hotel and will definitely be my last! The staff were cold and unpleasant! It was like pulling teeth getting them to provide information about my stay. The room was right next to the elevator and the large window was broken and didn’t align very well which made for a very noisy night overlooking a busy highway! The breakfast was limited both in terms of choices and quality! Don’t be fooled by the high ratings showing on the website.

The room was clean, tidy, and stocked. The overall ambiance was unique and inviting. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast was hot, with a variety of options. The coffee cups were too small, but going back for a refill is a simple solution. My only complaint is the lack of power outlets in the common areas. From outside to inside, the style and decor were pretty cool to make the stay more of an experience than simply a place to sleep.

The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed, but twice we found long black hair that wasn’t ours on a pillow and the comforter. Our towels had rips in them. One of the bedside lamps had a burned out bulb, and when I went down to the desk to ask for a replacement, there was no one there for a long period of time. I eventually gave up. The alarm on the old-fashioned clock radio in the room surprised us by going off super early in the morning. The lobby and hallways had a weird disinfectant smell. I would not stay here again.

Staff was extremely helpful; room was great. Pool was being repaired so did not get to experience that. Had an incident in the parking lot that resulted in damage to my vehicle due to rebar sticking out of a concrete parking block which was unfortunate (and expensive). Otherwise a great stay.

While the inn wasn’t quite what I was expecting, it met our needs. The rooms were clean but definitely dated. The mattress sagged in a way that made me feel I might roll right off. The shower was okay but they didn’t provide body wash (shampoo & conditioner were there). The location was very convenient to the highway but not in the setting you’d picture for an old English inn. I chose this place for its proximity to the Nat’l Park but wouldn’t choose it again since there are other places that are closer. Can’t speak for the breakfast, didn’t even know they served it. Sounds like a lot of negatives for a 4 star review but like I said, it met our needs.

We were extremely disappointed that the pool closed the day of our arrival. The indoor heated pool was one of our main reasons for booking.

The breakfast was amazing. It took about 5 minutes from the hotel to get to our meeting at the UVA Business School.

Hallway and room smelled bad; bed was really uncomfortable and I could feel each spring coil; there was too much pet dander in the room, which triggered my allergies, to the point that I had to check out after 30 minutes and book another hotel. If a hotel is pet friendly, they should at least properly clean the rooms after having pets. The chair at the desk was disgusting and looked like it was scavenged from a dump.

I hadn't stayed at his property for almost 40 years, and I was pleasantly surprised at its current condition. Everything was in very good shape, at a price considerably below other hotels in the immediate area. The included breakfast was among the very best I've ever had in a hotel, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The only negative I can mention is the furniture in the room and in part of the common area at reception. The lounge chair/ottoman were absolutely the hardest, most uncomfortable I've ever seen anywhere. I honestly can't imagine a furniture manufacturer making such an uncomfortable product, and I'm astonished that a hotel would purchase it for guest rooms. In spite of that, I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

Many options on the breakfast bar (eggs, french toast, biscuits) in a dedicated space. Very clean and quiet. Tea and cookies in the lobby at 4pm daily. Updated decor and responsive staff.

Breakfast was great, lots of options and quality food. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was pretty nice and updated. The hotel is old-timey and quirky, just as advertised. Some things seemed a little dated, but I guess it actually kind of fit the vibe of the hotel. The staff were great - helpful and understanding as our flight got delayed and we missed the first night. We didn't try the pool or workout room but they seemed fine. Our room had a nice view of the community garden next door, which was nice. Overall, a great place to stay, and if you like the whole old-time English feel of the place, even better.

Beds are a bit on the soft side and they use smaller square (ish) pillows. That’s the only gripe I have. Other than that the property was great for us.

Mostly it was good. It's a quirky place, a little older, but very clean and well-maintained. The tea time was fun, the breakfast was adequate, not great. We stayed three nights and at least one day, our room was never made up, even though we were out every day pretty early. When I went to the front desk to complain and explain that we needed towels, there was no apology, and they just handed me some towels. Oh well.

This was my second stay at this property. The room was as comfortable, the staff as friendly, and the breakfast as good as the first time. Yet it still had an issue I would not expect in light of the overall quality of the establishment: the bathroom sink didn't drain. I wasn't there long enough for it to be a problem, but it would have been an annoyance had I stayed longer. Nevertheless, it's a very good place to stay if you don't mind a handful of issues that one would expect at a property of less quality.

I ‘ve stayed there several times but this time was not quite as good. They remodeled several rooms but forgot to put a soap dispenser in the shower area. Also there was no shelf there to put a bar of soap

Was a quick trip to see Mount Vernon during the week. Property was extremely clean. The staff were extremely nice. Breakfast was delicious and the guy met and visited with each guest as they entered the breakfast area. Everything on menu was great. Gravy biscuits, sausage and REAL eggs!! Go check place out!!

There were some odd deficits I did not expect considering the overall quality of the hotel. The 3rd floor water pressure isn't great. The sink was designed with the faucet spout so close to the back of the bowl that only people with small hands could comfortably wash in it. And on the second day, the fresh bath mat had several (about five) holes in it, bigger than 1/4" but smaller than 1". These weren't dealbreakers, just odd. The only real drawback was lack of lighted parking. One evening I arrived late and had to park behind the building where there were no lights. So far as I could see in the dark, there was also no guest entrance on that side of the building, requiring a walk around the darkened perimeter of the building to get in. Overall, a nice stay. I would definitely go back.

Nice place with a unique theme, good lounge area and excellent breakfast - best grits I've ever had. Breakfast staff polite and warm, front desk staff is all business (front desk won't proactively tell you that there is no wifi password or what the breakfast hours are, but look at the tablet that is set up at the front desk and it will have this info).

Make sure you ask for a room that has no odor coming from the new couch. Apparently they waited 6 months for delivery and they sat in boxes the entire time. I assume they must have gotten wet because ours smelled like dirty feet and the odor permeated throughout the room.

We loved the Inn. We were in Charlottesville for a soccer tournament and the location was very central to everything we needed. The pool was fantastic!! It is huge. So much fun for the kids after the games. We will definitely stay here again!!

We often stay here and love the friendly staff and the decent free breakfast. The location is great and the amenities make it feel like a mini resort . I love the lobby and the sense of an old English Inn. Unfortunately the newest update in furniture and decor makes it feel more like a chain and not in a good way. It is a shame to change up to modern cheap stuff when you had better older stuff that could just be refurbished. Still, great value!

This hotel is great, I only wish the pool was open more regularly. The last couple stays prior to this one it was closed for renovation. I attempted to go this morning a couple hours prior to checking out, and it was closed.

We stayed for 5 nights and one of those night the room was not cleaned, I complained at the front desk and I was told that they didn’t have enough staff and since covid, that has bee the practice, that they don’t do the rooms every day. Disappointed!!

The room was clean, well appointed, and roomy. The breakfast was exceptional, with far more choices than the typical hotel breakfast, all well prepared (for example, the pancakes appeared to be made from scratch and the warm cinnamon apples were delicious). There are many lunch and dinner options, including the legendary Bodo's Bagels less than a block away.

Everything was pretty good. The few things I would correct is that there did not seem to be a remote for the TV in the gym. Also there were no wipes in the gym. The gym is also pretty small. The maid knocked on my door prior to 8am to clean for checkout which seemed a bit odd as the checkout is not until 11.I believe she was showing me something which might have said I check out already but I am not sure as her English was not great. I just told her to come later and put the DND sign on

The English Inn has been our go to choice for years. Clean rooms, helpful staff and a very good breakfast. Breakfast room staff very friendly and efficient. Good location, safe, easy to get to.

Stayed a month ago for the first time, came back into town again and stayed for the second time. The stay was great. Clean, friendly staff.

Everything inside was fine. The room was large and clean. Our dissatisfaction was with the condition of the parking lot. It was covered in ice (some places large mounds of ice) and hadn’t been cleared. It was extremely dangerous to walk on. We understand that this was a very unusual storm with much more snow and ice than a normal storm. However, it had been several days since the storm, and the storm warnings had been issued starting a week before it hit. When we asked why the ice had not been removed, we were told that they had run out of salt in Charlottesville. So have it scheduled to be delivered before the storm arrived coming from a different city! Mgt. didn’t seem to care when we expressed displeasure with how dangerous the parking lot was. It was curious though that one of the employees at the front desk had her car parked at the front door under the canopy the entire time we were there. We know this for a fact because we saw her go out and move her car a few feet! We have stayed here several times but will not be back. Any business that isn’t concerned about the safety of their guests is not a business that we will patronize.

Greetings are always good and friendly, especially during the day during the week. She is always pleasant and accommodating. The room I had was comfortable, nice with great amenities which were much appreciated. My only concern was the tv did not have a signal half of the time I was there, but I was able to watch the other tv, so it was fine.

The English Inn is very clean and nice. There is a cozy fire place with seating in the lobby. There is a cute breakfast room. The food was good - eggs, toast, oatmeal. There is a large pool but we didn’t bring bathing suits so we didn’t try it. It was great for the price and I would definitely stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff top-notch. In fact, we left a nice thermal tankard in the room and soon were notified by phone. We were able to go back and retrieve it.

Very disappointed to pay such an alarming pet fee. Very expensive for one night when the entire facility is pet friendly. Our room was carpeted. Pretty gross with pets. The pet fee is not listed and would have been a deterrent. Once here I has no choice but to proceed. Your fees should be listed and transparent. Will not be back.

The staff are kind. Liked the fruit to pick up free at check in. Didn’t like the outside bright lights on all night with sheer curtains in my room. This made the room be too light to sleep at times. I asked for another room on opposite side of building but the clerk said those lights surround the whole building. Next time I will bring something to cover my eyes

The room had some questionable stains/marks in the bathroom and on the sheets. The front desk lady that checked us in wasn’t the friendliest, but the lady that checked us out was. Otherwise a very nice stay.

I am a frequent visitor due to my brother's illness and my room is comfortable and clean. There may be some slight cosmetic eyesores in the rooms such a scratches on the table or chipping paint, but overall, it is a comfortable environment. Showers have worked well, adequate soap and towels and no clogs. Heat and air conditioning run well. I have been to many hotels around the area since May, 2025, and the English Inn is truly one of the better places to stay.

I have been a frequent visitor to the english inn, but my room this time was a little disappointing. The tv stations were not the same as my previous stays and no ottoman to the chair. I was on a different floor and not sure if that was the reason for the difference. The heat did not warm the room like my previous stays.also, i reserved a room at the very last minute so i admit i was very tired and hungry.last minute due to a emergency

We've stayed a couple of times here, once in a room and the bext time in a suite. Both times, the rooms were clean and perfect for an overnight stay (but if you like more elbow room, go with a suite). The manager and staff there are wonderful! My husband and daughter liked the breakfast, and even though we aren't tea drinkers, the 4pm - 6pm tea time in the lobby was absolutely lovely! There's also a small workout room, and next to that is the indoor pool. The hotel is directly behind a popular bagel shop, and is also a short drive to restaurants and shopping. We had a nice time there and will definitely stay there again the next time we're passing through Charlottesville.

Erica, however, is fantastic running the breakfast room. She keeps everything stocked; she's friendly; she cleaned and moved a high chair for our grandson to use; she even took some family pictures for us. The second day she recognized us and asked if the baby was coming down and then moved and cleaned the high chair again.

Loved the tea and cookies every afternoon by the fire and Christmas Tree!!! Also love the breakfast!! My favorite was the cottage cheese and peaches! The bed could have been better but other than that it was great and the staff were very friendly. Enjoyed our stay!!

The room was very noisy at night from motors of heat pump in other place. The hotel was very clean.

Breakfast had lots of variety and hot food; coffee was good, too! Location with regards to local attractions was decent and close to Starbucks and other restaurants like Rising Cane’s. Staff friendly and helpful.

Very pleased with the Family Suite WE rented, it was quite spacious. However, there was NO EXTRA BLANKETS PROVIDED & WE STAYED THERE IN MID- DECEMBER. ALSO, NO TOASTER IN THE KITCHEN... A TOASTER & EXTRA BLANKETS WOULD MAKE THIS SUITE TOP NOTCH ‼️WE WENT TO A WALMART & PURCHASED A NICE TOASTER TO USE DURING OUR 3 DAY STAY. THE TOASTER COST LESS THAN $14. OH, WE WERE NEVER ABLE TO EAT @ THE INCLUDED " FREE BUFFET BREAKFAST". THERE WAS NEVER ANYTHING LEFT WHEN WE WENT DOWN ... NOTHING ‼️ NO HOT CHOCOLATE PACKETS, NO COFFEE ☕, NO MUFFINS, ETC . VERY DISAPPOINTED ‼️‼️

I have stayed at the English Inn for years but since the remodel it is fabulous! The rooms are clean, the shower pressure and water temperature are great. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The pool is heated and a big part of our stay. The upgrades are appreciated but so glad the original feel of the hotel is still there.

Our beds were comfortable and we had plenty of water pressure and hot water. My only con is that our check in receptionist looked sad, depressed or just plain miserable. No greeting or smile.

The room had a funky mold odor and an unexplained dark stain on the dated rug. Room needs a refresh as curtains, drapes, and upholstered chair looked dingy. Urine smell by the 1st floor pool area door, breakfast bar has spoiled chocolate milk as the refrigerator was warm and not up to health code. Overall negative experience was not made better by the variety of breakfast food and decent location. They should dock the housekeeper’s pay for her folding my dry cleaned clothes. Do not recommend, do not stay, will not go back.

Room was immaculate and breakfast was excellent and ample. The general manager checked me in and was friendly and kind, switching my room to one on the first floor that would work better for taking my 2 small dogs outside. Very comfortable bed and pillows, plenty of towels, good water pressure - everything was fine. The desk clerk this morning was friendly and cheerful, which means a lot.

The lobby, staff and room were all very nice; particularly the bathroom. All nice. The bed however was hard as a board. And not unlike a medieval torture device. No way I or my wife could rest on it. And there was no point in asking for another room as the hotel was full. So we checked out around 1:30 a.m. Nice looking place and very close to UVA. But when you're in your late 50s and have back, hip and knee problems, the English Inn might not be for you.

We got caught in a snow storm and decided to stop just to be safe. This was a gem of a find. It’s like stepping into a European hotel. It was wonderful. Cozy seating areas are all around. Breakfast was on point and the guy working it was so friendly and welcomed every person to breakfast. We will come back.

When we checked in Gail was very helpful and answered questions we had about the area and gave us directions. The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. They even have a TV guide on the dresser that you can read. The breakfast was amazing!

Rooms are clean. Only one elevator. It's a little dated but charming. Refrigerator was very loud. There seem to be great amenities but they didn't tell you about them or give you any information about accessing them at check in. There is nothing in the room either. Had to search down breakfast times. Breakfast was ok but hot foods were warm at best. Just an overnight stay for an early appointment so meet my needs.

The hotel staff was very friendly especially the night clerk when we checked in at 2200. And they were very helpful. Property is very clean and presentable. And the breakfast was outstanding. Would highly recommend this property and the experience. Don't stay in Charlottesville often due to the proximity to where our home is. But, this is a gem.

Having stayed at many different hotels in the area, the staff at The English Inn were so kind and hospitable. They were ready for all guests for earlier check in due to game day, when other chain hotels tend to be less flexible. The rooms were large and clean and had nice bathroom amenities. The free hot breakfast buffet was hot, plentiful, had many options, and good, better than any free breakfast in the area.

The place is a dump, but l charged me $800 for two nights. There has been no maintenance in years, towels are skimpy, lamps were unplugged. There is no corner this dump hasn’t cut.

We were on ground floor which is convenient but, a little noisy. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Stayed in the smaller suite building. It was a big room and quiet, basically a 1/1 apartment. Ground floor meant some bugs got in under the door but nice otherwise.

And delicious Bodo Bagels next door for a most tasty takeout sandwich. Would stay again if ever in Charlottesville.

This is our favorite hotel at which we've ever stayed. It was perfectly clean, smelled fresh, everything worked, quiet, great mattresses and pillows, good price, and we loved the cute and welcoming lobby in English manor decor with the tea and cookies every afternoon. If I had remembered my swimsuit, I would have enjoyed the heated pool. If we ever come to Charlottesville again, we will definitely stay here.

The breakfast was great. Many different choices and very fresh and hot. The gal who checked us in and out was great. Gave us some good recommendations. I think the only thing I was not happy about was the pillows. My neck was some the next morning. Over all a great experience.

Excellent location with easy access to shopping, the University and interchange. Plenty of parking and in a quiet location. The facility is showing its age a bit and could use some refreshing in the rooms and bathroom. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast offered plenty of choices with some variation day to day.

Although it is an older hotel, everything was well maintained and updated. Staff was very friendly, the rooms were very well kept, The afternoon tea was nice, and the breakfast was a full breakfast with many options. I will stay here the next time we visit Charlottesville.

Room was very clean. There was a slight musty smell. However it went away after the AC was running. The sofa bed needs updating. The bed and bedding were excellent

Everything was average to good except that the bathroom was not as big as the picture hinted at, the sink top was not as big as shown, and the bed was, if not the worst, was close to the worst bed I have ever slept on…including Marine Corps Boot Camp racks.

We were only there one night, and thankfully so. Our #1 criterion in judging a room is comfort of the bed and, the moment I sat down on ours, I knew it would be a sleepless night for my wife. Bed comfort can definitely be subjective but I have never sat down on the edge of a bed and had it not give in the least. The loveseat in the adjacent room, which we didn't realize we would be getting, seemed to be a relic of the 70s and you sank 3 inches upon sitting on it. At any price point, we won't be returning.

Parking lot nearby had loiters and made guests feel uncomfortable walking from the car to the front of the hotel due to cars parking in the dark in the lot behind the hotel for only moments before pulling away. Door to room was excessively loud and hard to open. Hair dryer whispers. Shower is either a light sprinkle or a blasting hose. No safety lock on door, only dead bolt (likely due to it being an ada room but add an alt mechanism?

Staff was very accommodating upon our arrival. Entire facility and room was clean. Breakfast was a bonus. Will definitely staff again when I visit Charlottesville in the future.

The entire experience was good! We essentially enjoyed the breakfast and the pool. It's very convenient to JPJ arena too.

Easy parking, convenient to John Paul Jones Arena, hearty breakfast, afternoon tea is a charming touch, staff was friendly and efficient, property was clean, beds are comfy, rooms are slightly outdated but sounds like they have been doing some upgrades.

Super clean and super friendly

It was a very clean comfortable room. We enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was the best we have ever had in a hotel ! As good or better than Cracker Barrel. The only thing that could have been better is update sofa. There was a skunk smell in courtyard were we stayed. We would definitely stay again.

Arrived late on 1st night and the bathroom was not clean. Toenails on floor in bedroom area. Had to pack up, change rooms, and unpack again. Inconvenient to move rooms late at night.

Extensive options in breakfast buffet. Dog-friendly establishment. Very reasonably priced. The bed and pillows were very comfy.

They did not not clean our room even though we asked them to clean it two different day. The Wifi in our room was no good.

We booked this through Expedia and it was a great deal. We arrived after driving for 6 hours and the place was a respite after arriving 8pm. The sheets smelled amazingly fresh, our room was clean and the breakfast free . Staff is wonderful with any questions and we absolutely will stay here again.

The young lady who checked my husband and I in did a terrible job. She was totally uninterested in assisting us and helping us to have a nice stay. No smile or friendly greeting, no information on breakfast, no eye contact. If she continues to perform like this, she is not cut out for the service industry. Other than her, our stay and experience at English Inn was very pleasant and comfortable.

Beautiful hotel.

The room was clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I will say be careful because our car did get broken into while we were there and our luggage did get stolen, but the app was super friendly and helpful. If it wasn’t for that experience, it would’ve been a great trip and a great stay

When I saw the pictures of this place I knew this is where I wanted to stay and it didn’t disappoint. We only needed a place for one night and it was in walkable distance to the venue. Felt safe while walking, room was clean, staff was super friendly and the breakfast buffet had a lot more options than the place we traveled from. Would definitely stay here again! Close to hiking trails too, which we would have taken advantage of if we were staying longer!

Convenient to Jefferson's Monticello. Large clean room with very comfortable bed. Good breakfast with varied selection. Excellent coffee!

It’s dated but fine for the money and availability

Once again, a great stay. This will be our go to stop traveling to or through C-Ville. Great breakfast bar is a definite draw.

Staff at front desk were pleasant/friendly. Only negative comment...no bath towels were provided in room; only face cloths and hand towels. First time in many, many years of traveling this has been encountered.

Won’t be back. Our room was like a dungeon it only 1 window in the bedroom directly ( ground level) facing the parking lot. We left a day early because of this. They control the thermostat it doesn’t go any lower than 68*. Not sure how it gets so many high rating.

The staff of this establishment were fantastic. Charm of building was adorable. Breakfast options were much better than many of the high end chains I've visited. Woulld definitely choose this again.

The breakfast buffet was still fresh and hot even though it was less than 30 muns from being closed. Large selection of food and drinks. Everything was clean, the room was comfortable and the check-in staff was helpful above and beyond! Will definitely be our go-to for stays in the future!
