The hotel is in a great location with a friendly staff, but cleanliness and maintenance issues are frequently mentioned. The breakfast is generally well-liked, but some guests have issues with the variety and availability.

Location was superb!! You can park your car and walk everywhere. The parking lot was only for guest. You can only get in with your room key. We stayed in the 2 BR, 2 Bath. The room was very clean. It was nice to have that extra room and bathroom. I have a teenage daughter and she needs her own personal space. The hotel gave us a long list of restaurants in the area with some discounts on meals. Everything was great. However, I have a suggestion for the family room area. It could benefit in having another chair in that room. The small loveseat is only good for 2 people. So my family of 3 could not sit together to watch tv. I used one of the dining room chairs. That chair is not meant to be used for long period of time and I had back pain.

I definitely would stay here again. Great property, great staff, and great location. Only one elevator, but it was never crowded. Breakfast was very good. Parking was easy. Room was well laid out. Full fridge, mini range, and microwave. Very enjoyable stay.

Everything. Breakfast is great I wish they had a supper also Wish I could have stayed longer Needs stronger lighting dim light hard to out make up on

The staff was phenomenal from start to finish. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Chastity at the front desk was especially exceptional. She greeted us by name and provided helpful information during check-in that made us feel immediately welcome and taken care of. Our suite was spacious, comfortable, and well-suited for our family. Parking was easy to navigate, and the location was excellent for exploring downtown Chattanooga. There were only a couple of issues that kept the stay from being perfect. The couch in the living room area of our suite was torn in multiple places and showed significant signs of wear. It was also extremely worn down, to the point that when you sat on it, you practically sank to the floor. The other issue was a device mounted on the bedroom ceiling near the bed. It appeared to be some type of detector, separate from the smoke detector, and throughout the entire night it emitted two very bright flashes of light approximately every 10 seconds. The flashes made it incredibly difficult to sleep. Traveling with a toddler, getting good rest is especially important, and this was unfortunately a significant disruption. That said, it was otherwise a wonderful stay. The outstanding staff, comfortable accommodations, convenient parking, and great location made for a very enjoyable visit.

The lady at the front desk Renee was amazing. From the moment we arrived she was kind engaging and helpful. She checked us in quickly and took time to answer all the questions we had about various attractions. She even gave us a listing of all of the restaurants within walking distance and provided some coupons. Every evening when we came through the lobby she asked how our day was and if we needed anything. I had trouble sleeping one night and she provided an extra mattress topper and comforter to help soften the bed. She definitely made us feel important, comfortable and safe.

Perfect place to stay for a two night stay. Small but efficient. A slight make up stain on the quilt was left behind so we gave a 4 instead of 5 of cleanliness.

We loved the location and amenities. The breakfast was huge and yummy! Being able to have our dog with us but not feel like the place had dogs staying there before made it feel clean. The big beautiful windows you could look out were great. We walked to the Southern Belle Sunset Cruise, to get ice cream, walked the dog, sat by the firepit outside on fenced courtyard, walked to the market place to see tents set up selling items. The indoor pool was wonderful too! We loved that it was a smoke free location (I had asthma) but it was not monitored well. We couldn’t sit outside the last day because people were openly smoking next to the fire pit for a while.

Spacious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite with good breakfast a block away from the riverfront park. The room even had kitchen appliances and a separate seating area from the bedrooms. The shuttle to the downtown is right across the street.
- 5/5
Only recommendation, is the mattress on the pull out couch was too uncomfortable to sleep on.
- 2/5
the rooms furniture is extremely uncomfortable and dated. the bed was like lying on a sheet of plywood. i would barely even call it a mattress. to top it off after we checked out with a zero bill i noticed 2 unauthorised charges to my card of 60.00 one day and 50 the next. we made no purchases on the property and those charges were NOT on my bill at checkout. my stay was prepaid a month in advance including parking. i am disouting those charges. while the location is nioce and central to downtown avoid this location at all costs. Marriot is typically my first choice. this place was bad enough i may be rethingking that for future stays.

Manager was extremely helful.
- 5/5
Breakfast was not good.
- 5/5
The location was perfect for the aquarium, IMAX, and Discovery Museum, all of which we visited with 2 young children. The 2 BR suite was great with the kids and allowed us all to sleep well. We loved the kitchen and never ate out in the 3 days we were there. Breakfast offerings were ample and very good. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Being allowed to park until 4 pm on the day of departure was an added perk. The pool looked a little cloudy. An automatic door would be helpful when trying to wrestle a stroller with 2 kids into and out of the place.
- 5/5
It is right in the middle of downtown. There are plenty of things to do! The room stayed cool when we used ac and it stayed warm at night when we used the heat. The staff there are absolutely amazing! Especially Jordan!
- 4/5
Clean room. Good breakfast, saved us some $ on eating out!
- 5/5
Great location! Easy access to everywhere downtown and a quick drive to Lookout mountain from there. Busy week, so parking was a slight issue. But overall wonderful experience.
- 5/5
The location is easy to get to and is close to the attractions. I don’t like that there are so many changes around the hotel, not as many kid friendly food options. Nothing negative about the hotel itself expect parking should be included.
- 4.5/5
Close to everything downtown The walls were a thin and the “queen” beds are a little under sized.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. You don’t hear other rooms Too many kids at breakfast

The room was nice just the ice maker was broken and didn’t make ice and the pool didn’t have towels the pool was actually quite cold the pillows was quite rough the are very thin the hotel it’s self was very nice and everyone friendly it was a quick walk to anywheres around I plan to bring my kids back
- 4.5/5
Pool was tiny. Smaller than it looks in photos.
- 5/5
The requirement for paid parking was not on the booking.
- 4/5
Had gated/private parking good value for location and size of the room. The staff called the room every time I ordered DoorDash it was nice but after a few times it kinda got old but other than that nothing really amazing place.
- 5/5
My key card had to be reprogrammed to allow parking.
- 3/5
Breakfast was decent, the breakfast meats could have been better. Meat kinda reminded me of dogfood Room furniture was dated and worn out. Bed uncomfortable. Gas fireplace on the community patio didn't work.
- 0.5/5
Location is good Staff is the most unfriendly people I’ve ever met
- 5/5
Loved our stay. Hotel is beautiful. Great location. Wonderful staff. Breakfast Buffet was amazing with lots of options. Room was clean and had everything we needed. The only negative is paying for parking, it's a bit pricey, I knew the cost before my stay though. I would 100% stay here again.
- 5/5
Front staff was amazing!!
- 4/5
Check-in and check out staff were friendly. The room was okay. The toilet didn’t work very well and the lights over the stove didn’t work.

- 5/5
It was a great location and good breakfast. Quiet area. Walking distance to restaurants.
- 5/5
It was great and easy to check in
- 3/5
We were moved to Courtyard where we did not have the same amenities that we paid for. We had brought food that we were unable to heat. We had our pet and although courtyard is not pet friendly, they made an exception, however, we had to go a block away to relieve herself. We had to walk accross the street to residence inn to eat breakfast as it was not available at courtyard. This will be the last time i use Expedia
- 4/5
Chastity was quick in rebooking me back into our reservation when i told her I has dogs and so I had to stay at their property. When my key stopped working prior to check out time and I mentioned I needed help moving our stuff to the car and couldn't prop my door open with the door lock, she sent help to my room. My kids were there, I just needed to make multiple trips and couldn't prop my door due to my dogs.
- 2/5
The room we stayed in was on the street side of the hotel and we heard loud noises at all hours of the night. We would recconend if someone stays here they request a room on the opposite side of the hotel. Also we had multiple problems with trying the use of key for the door.
- 5/5
Plenty of restaurants in walking distance to the hotel.
- 5/5
This is a great hotel to go to with kids for the aquarium and the children's discovery center. Highly recommend
- 4/5
Spacious
- 2/5
There were no bath towels, the toilet kept running and needed to be repaired. The remote didn’t work and the tv couldn’t be shut off. All three things required a call down to the main desk. The room was clean and roomie and we only stayed one night as planned so we didn’t really use the kitchen facilities
- 5/5
The staff was amazing and very caring!
- 5/5
Staff was great and very helpful. Rooms were clean. A/c got super cold and water got super hot. We walked to the majority of things we wanted to do, this location was great.
- 4/5
It was perfectly adequate! The building is old, but it’s well maintained, clean and there’s plenty of privacy. The proximity to the riverfront was ideal!
- 5/5
Great stay. Everything perfect and friendly staff
- 5/5
Young lady manager who greeted us was very helpful, would highly recommend just for her, but everything was great. As a grandma traveling with a 5 y/o, she helped us find activities (nearby playground) and that was really appreciated, along with other helpful suggestions.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, excellent breakfast selection.
- 5/5
Ms. Vickie did a fantastic job with breakfast! She was very kind and helpful. Chastity at the front desk gave great dining and sightseeing recommendations, and answered all our questions and needs.
- 4/5
This is a good place to stay for a week or longer. The suites are very large and the parking is easy. It is walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, and shops. It is also near the waterfront.
- 5/5
The rooms need some updating but ok for a one night stay
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful. The only thing better than the hotel and its location was the staff. They were awesome. I would definitely recommend Residence Inn by Marriott. Have stayed at Marriott before and never been disappointed.
- 1/5
Good location but the if you can manage to find any staff they are rude.
- 5/5
Great staff, roof top restaurant, centrally located
- 5/5
Great location. Great staff. Very happy.
- 5/5
Lily was great!
- 5/5
Staff is great, hotel is in a really good location with restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are comfortable and well laid out, and clean. The only negative that I would have is that rooms are starting to show wear and tear, and could use freshening up.
- 5/5
Great location. Always love a residence Inn.
- 4/5

- 5/5
Staff was so amazing and accommodating. We will definitely be back.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn while we were visiting the Tennessee Aquarium, IMAX theater, and Lake Winnie.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service, quiet, outstanding breakfast included, room was exceptional with interoir design and we were able to sleep in a really cold air-conditioned room. We love sleeping in cold conditions. Outstanding overall experience.
- 1/5
0/10 stay away at all costs. We ended up getting a full refund because of her behavior.
- 5/5
Marriott, does it right!
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful and the location is very convenient.
- 5/5
Jordan was an absolutely joy and made sure that all my needs were taken care of.
- 2/5
The women at the front desk (Chasidy or something like that) was unbelievably rude to me, my friends, and other guests that I overheard.
- 1/5
Tried two rooms before I asked for a refund and left; both were filthy. The first with dead fleas all over bathroom floor
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly & helpful when checking in. The only complaint we had was when asking (the day before checkout) if it was possible for a late checkout, Jordan became snippy but did allow a noon checkout which was greatly appreaciated because our flight was not leaving until 7pm....We were surprised by her sudden change in demeanor because she was very friendly & helpful when we checked in.....she was assisting another guest who was attempting to get a room at a discounted rate as we waited patiently & she asked how she could help us.....I think she may have been frustrated by the other guest. Next time, regardless of where we stay, we will be sure to ask at check-in....we are not frequent travelers.
- 4/5
My door keys didn't work because the door was stuck. The dead bolt was half stuck and didn't work.
- 5/5
Great hotel and location. Parking was good and available. The only constructive criticism is that for checking in there isn't a lobby pull up spot but that's okay if you can park in back, but I didn't think I could park in back since I hadn't checked in yet. There was a gate for parking in back that requires the room key. What I didn't know is that I could pull up to the parking gate and push a button to ask to be let in. Since I didn't know that I had to park elsewhere in a parking garage that has a cost. This Residence inn has a daily cost for parking as well which is understandable but not known until checking in.
- 5/5
The hotel was in a great location for visiting various sites and near many restaurants. The room was good for a family with a refrigerator and microwave. I wish the cleaners had vacuumed when they cleaned.
- 5/5
The main thing we liked was the larger room options with a full Kitchen. Location was great with lots of restaurant options to walk to, parks, the Aquarium, etc. It's a little older and could maybe use a little updating, but otherwise it was very nice. The full breakfast bar was pretty decent as well.
- 2/5
Property was very outdated and way overpriced refrigerator had dents all over it rooms were small. Would not recommend.
- 4/5
The air conditioner was so loud that it kept waking us up. The rug was ripped and the bathroom was really old.
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Don was an exceptional front desk representative!
- 5/5
Best customer service. Chassidy not only gave me a great recommendation for dinner but also followed up afterwards to make sure I enjoyed the restaurant
- 5/5
Excellent for small families and very walkable to local attractions and dining
- 5/5
Close to the aquarium and food
- 5/5
This was my family’s first vacation! Mrs. Lily and Mrs. Vicky (or V, I do apologize I’m writing this after my four hour drive back home) they were so sweet and amazing! Thank you guys for being awesome we look forward to coming back! 💙
- 5/5
Convenient location with bedroom options and pool.
- 5/5
The staff is excellent. Professional, courteous, and they react quickly to any concerns. Some rooms are outdated, repaired time and time again to the point of needing to be renovated. This is no reflection of the staff. Breakfast was great also. Would definitely stay here again. I cannot speak highly enough to the staff. They set the standards for other to follow.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed our stay. Close to the aquarium. Good breakfast. Nice pool.
- 4/5
Property was perfect and staff was great. Jordan , at the front desk, was wonderful. Was very upset to receive a bill for parking. I was not aware of that. Very disappointed
- 4/5
Staff was great, and it was a perfect location. Jordan, at the front desk, was wonderful. She was so accommodating, friendly, and very welcoming. The thing that is super frustrating is I was charged for parking! I had no idea that it was $20 a day to park😡. I just found out through my email. That should’ve been made for clear. I’m so disappointed in that.
- 3/5
Staff was good. But the room wasn't ready until 5pm
- 5/5
Rooms were nice
- 2/5
Good location but outdated, dirty and not a Marriott standard. Front desk help was very kind but condition of hotel was poor. As was my decision booking this room.
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Frendly and clean
- 5/5
Location is very ideal for the downtown area and walking distance to the aquarium and some good restaurants near by
- 5/5
Great, convenient location. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
Great location and price. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful front desk staff, super comfortable bed!!! We will definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Convenient to downtown.
- 5/5
Staff made it easy to check in and out. Breakfast buffet was good with lots of options. It was quiet! I never heard anything from the surrounding rooms.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice but I think the staff was even nicer. Everyone was super friendly and helpful! We had a great experience during our visit
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean, my room was very clean, they had a nice breakfast in the morning that goes with the price of the room. The breakfast attendance were very polite. And the front desk manager was extremely polite as well. Everyone wanted to help. And see if I needed anything. I would definitely recommend staying here. The location is fantastic.
- 5/5
The service was amazing! Exceptionally friendly staff. The hotel could benefit from some cosmetic updates, but the overall stay was good.
- 4/5
A bit tired.
- 4/5
Every staff member we encountered was very nice and professional. They also kept the breakfast fully stocked, even during busy times. The property itself is dated, but the staff still keep it very clean. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Chattanooga.
- 5/5
Clean hotel very safe,Room was amazing
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly. Room was ok, the sofa bed is not very comfortable but not many are. We stayed 2 nights and there was no turn service between days. It would've been fine not to do the beds, but at least stop by to restock coffee and such and take out trash. Especially since we had a suite with full kitchen. Breakfast offered was not very stocked the first day we went so I sent my husband down for milk and cereal as early as possible so the kids had something to eat when they woke up. Seems they stop stocking it an hour before it closes. Also, my son is very allergic to dogs and had allergies our entire stay since they allow dogs, which I was unaware of or wouldn't have stayed. The elevator got stuck 3 times that we knew of during the weekend.
- 5/5
The location was perfect for our purposes. We could walk to restaurants, shopping, and the AT&T baseball stadium in just minutes. The staff was friendly and parking was easy. I want to single out one staff member who was particularly wonderful- Sebastian Delahoz. We had inquired about baseball tickets and he happened to have some that weren't being used and he offered them to us for free. When he found out we were celebrating our anniversary, we found a nice card slipped under our door later that evening congratulating us. He was so thoughtful and pleasant it really made our stay special!
- 4/5
Location was great. Nice, quiet and family friendly. Close by dining options. However, first day of our stay for hours the hotel had no water and our car was broke-in.
- 5/5
The staff were amazing and very sweet! We arrived a little early and were able to check in and even got a room upgrade for free! We also found out that Wednesday is bacon day for breakfast and it was yummy! The hotel is in a great location close to the aquarium and plenty of places to eat, all within walking distance. This is definitely a family friendly hotel and a good bang for your buck.
- 4/5
Last year we stayed in the same type of room but more clean n new , this time the room was ok.
- 4/5
Location, location, location…says it all. Staff is excellent. This is just a nice place to stay. We stay often.
- 5/5
Easy access to the riverfront and dining options
- 3/5
The location was very convenient for the riverfront attractions. The linens were clean but the chairs and carpets were not. The property is aging and it smelled slightly musty. The staff were very nice, but for the price newer and nicer hotels are available.
- 3/5
Good property very close to the aquarium. Great location near the aquarium, stadium and the discovery museum.
- 5/5
Very convenient, excellent location. Staff was awesome. Comfortable and clean. Great breakfast. It could not have been any better
- 3/5
Property was nice and average....
- 5/5
Close to the Aquarium, dining, and riverfront. Unclear on where to park for check in. Beds are comfortable.
- 5/5
My main reason for visiting Chattanooga was to experience the Riverwalk bike trail. This hotel turned out to be the perfect location. I easily rode my bike from hotel to trail in less than five minutes. My spacious room featured a kitchen complete with frig, stove and cookware. Everything was spotless and very nice. Although my room faced the street, it was very quiet. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel was within a couple minute walking distance of many great restaurants, the minor league baseball stadium and the aquarium. And the breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Overall our experience was not worth the price tag of hotel. I would like to reiterate that the front desk staff, hose keepers, and all other staff we encountered we every kind and always asked us how our day was going. They had amazing customer service.
- 3/5
Stain on couch which made it look dirty. Elevator floor was dirty. Had only ONE elevator for entire hotel so wait was quite long on several occassions, we finally took the stairs. Somewhat disappointed. Location was good though.
- 3/5
The breakfast was ok. The shower was not clean enough, there was mildew on the ceiling and between the shower door
- 5/5
Great hotel. Amazing location. AT&T fire literally right behind hotel. IMAX theater a block away. Aquarium two blocks away. Horse drawn carriage rides.
- 3/5
Bed was very comfortable but seemed small for a queen. There was mildew behind the shower door. Nice big TV. Coffee pot was missing the part to put the coffee grounds in. Our room on the street was very loud until late. Convenient to the Aquarium and IMAX. Price was a little steep. Paying for convenience.
- 5/5
3rd time staying. Always excellent
- 4/5
Great hotel in a great location! only issue we had is the one elevator which in times was very slow. we are a big family and we stayed in a suite which was very comfortable and with enough space for all of us
- 2/5
We discovered that the pool heater was broken, and only found out through my husband talking to the Maintenance guy. A sign went up on the third day of our trip. It was not explained that housekeeping only comes every other day. We had to vacuum our own room twice. I asked one of the days and they said they would send someone to vacuum at 3:30 PM, but no one came. We also noticed two ants in our room, which is why we were adamant about making sure that food crumbs were not left out. The location was the best part of our stay. It was convenient, and within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions.
- 4/5
Overall this hotel is in a great location and generally pleasant enough. Staff is very friendly and once I learned the lady checking me in was brand new I didn't mind her taking a little longer getting me checked in than I thought it should have taken. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, but one can not escape the fact this facility is aging. Considering they are still charging more than some neighboring properties, I expected it to be a little better kept to be honest. Despite the hotel being pet friendly I didn't see any pet hair (or other unclean areas). That said, my pet allergies were triggered in the room anyways. Not much one can do about that, but if you are extremely sensitive, a pet friendly hotel may not be the right place. I honestly didn't pay attention to that until it was too late. If you can walk stairs, definitely use the stairs. The hotel has only one elevator for the entire building and it is slower than molasses flowing updwards on a hill in the middle of winter. The included breakfast was excellent and offered a great variety with something for everyone. Unfortunatley the parking lot has no cameras for security. Another guest left a serious mark in my car door but I had no way of finding out who it was because of that. The damage is not the hotels fault, of course, but a couple of securtiy cameras would have been helpful to identify the culprit. Overall a pleasant stay. Just not as fantastic as it could/should have been imo,
- 4/5
Walking distance restaurants!
- 5/5
The property was very convenient. It was clean and next to a lot of eateries.
- 4/5
The pool is still not very warm. There were also no biscuits and gravy on the breakfast buffet. The toaster worked great. The kitchen in the room was awesome. Got to heat up a whole ham and a couple of sides with no problem.
- 2/5
Loud over priced for the area and condition of hotel. The plumbing and rattling widows woke us up several times throughout the night.
- 2/5
Getting charged for parking after booking room with no prior info. Pool was really cold staff was friendly and polite, the breakfast was good and warm.

The swimming pool was allegedly broken. I booked a room downtown with a pool for a reason.

Comfortable room. The corridors and elevator were a little untidy but the breakfast was great and the parking was easy and felt safe to walk in the neighborhood. Very convenient for downtown dining and the aquarium. Would stay again.

Rooms were nice, kitchen was a nice addition and it was also clean. The staff was very attentive. The free breakfast wasn’t as good as the hotel we stayed earlier in the week, coffee wasn’t hot. It would be nice if they would just add extra to the room charge instead of having to pay $21.85 a night to park your car there.

An AMAZING experience, short vacation with wife, staff was so helpful recommending restraunts and activities, lots to do in easy walking distance. Room was FLAWLESS, couldn't ask better. Terrific breakfast, variety and plenty, just don't come down at 9:45 and complain like the "Karens" do! 100% best hotel stay we've experienced! Thanks so much for a GREAT memory!

We arrived the property late, due to traveling. The hostess was nice and friendly. Even though it was late, she still answered all the questions that was asked. The rooms were clean and quiet.

Wish the pool had been heated. We also wished the front desk staff had explained the modified housecleaning process during check in. Otherwise a good stay.
