I didn’t realize when I booked the hotel that there were no pet free rooms. I don’t have an issue with animals, but when you wake up covered in pet hair (cat presumably), you might take offense. I left a review with the property as well as my number for a call back, but I have not heard from them. Also, the bath gel had not been replenished before my stay, and judging from the state of my clothes - the sheets had not been changed prior to my arrival. I think the concept of having a pet friendly hotel is great, but there should be a few rooms for those who don’t have any pets traveling with them. I inquired about that while checking out and was told that they couldn’t track which rooms had previously had pets, so there were no pet free rooms. Even though the hotel itself looked very nice, I won’t be returning.

The room was a lot smaller than I imagined, but that wasn't the issue. It was the other guest on the floor; there were kids running through the halls and kept slamming the door until about 2am. I picked up the phone to call the front desk at about midnight and there was no answer. Finally, I said something about 12:30am and it still continued until 2am. I went to my commencement tired as you can imagine as I had to get up early.

Great location, convenient to shopping, dinning and attractions. I had an issue with my room thermostat reading 80 while set on 69. I called the front desk and told the tech had gone for the day. When I asked if I could change rooms, I was informed that they were completely sold out. I asked about a refund and was told because I booked 3rd party they couldn't assist me. I stayed in a hot room all night. The front desk person didn't care about resolving my issue, wasn't empathetic and showed little care.

The pillows weren't the best, nor were the eggs for breakfast. Other than that it was a comfortable stay.

We are thrilled to have been able to stay at a stellar pet friendly hotel. The staff members have been very accommodating and welcoming which has made the stay quite enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a pet friendly hotel. This hotel will be our goto for future travels.

Staff was friendly, room was clean, adjustable showerhead pressure and hot water was nice, products in shower were refreshing and unique, breakfast options were minimal though (no granola or toppings for yogurt or oatmeal, no eggs/sausage/waffles, etc), and the shower caulk could use replacing. The bed was a bit hard for my comfort. Overall the stay was great for one night but more than 2 I would prefer a next level stay.

The hotel was in a good location for our needs…within a mile of shopping and dining. The room was clean and functional. The breakfast had enough choices and was tasty. Parking was convenient and secure.

Attractive contemporary design with thoughtful amenities (quality skin and hair products, comfortable beds and pillows, space for luggage and large screen tv with premium channels) together with good sound-proofing against noisy neighbors make TRU a standout choice if you don’t want to spend $300 plus a night for a hotel. Highly recommend.

The parking was super convenient and always had available spots and was well lit. The room was very small which could be expected. The water pressure was very low so it was difficult to take a quick shower due to that. Fair selection for breakfast but were trying too much with eggs; scrambled eggs would have been fine. The staff always looked mad to be there and annoyed when I noticed some guests asking requests. I would not stay here again.

This hotel is not old! The carpets in the hall need to be shampooed! The ceilings in the room had water stains and the blinds were broke. They need to do better.

Breakfast is always on spot , I chose Tru for this reason as well. I have stayed several times already and no complain or whatsoever. Hopefully there will be microwave in the rooms or at least in the lobby for guests to use.

I feel a bit generous giving a 3 star review. The building was nice, but I don’t think the person at the from desk ever actually looked at me during check in - not rude, per se, just totally disinterested. There was no shampoo dispenser in my shower (it was missing completely) and the soap dispenser was empty, so if you like to shower with only conditioner, add another star. The worst part was breakfast- I got to the cafe by 7am and the eggs and meat were gone and the pancake machine had no batter. I stood there for 15 minutes and nobody showed up, fortunately they had some pop tarts so I had something to take to the airport with me. I’m in VA Beach frequently but probably won’t at Tru again.

Everything was great! The room and bathroom were neat and clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast had many options, more than I was expecting. Check in was a breeze. It was very quiet. The location was perfect—very close to the freeway and there were restaurants very close. The only con I have is that the AC in the room sounded like there were crickets in the room when it was running. It made it somewhat difficult to fall asleep.

Once inside I established this was not very kid friendly. Hangout spot in the lobby with pool table so the littles thought it was play time. The rooms were dirty but I'm a professional cleaner so I just did it myself.

This was my first stay at a Tru and it was immaculate. The esthetics, customer service, room cleanliness and I like new construction and keeping up to date and this was a complete example of just that

The staff was very courteous and always greeted you. The only issue we had was that the room was not serviced during our stay. Sticker on the mirror said the room is cleaned every other day. That didn't happen. I let the lady at the desk know. Hopefully it won't happen to anyone rise.

Our whole stay here was terrible. The first night we showed up and rooms were not ready. No biggie things happen. Came back an hour later got our key and went to.. surprise an occupied room. Again no biggie. Got the right room after we went downstairs. Went to recheck in for night two and Surprise your reservation we have had for six months is not available because they over booked but they tried to give us a different type room and pass it off as our mistake. At this point enough was enough we insisted on a refund and found another hotel for the night. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TRU TO ANYONE!!!!!! Hilton products are usually much better!! They desk staff was very friendly through it all as people

Breakfast was okay but we had to ask many times for things like eggs to be available. No one serviced our room in the week we were there which was over Christmas. In all fairness, we had the door sign up most days but on days we needed fresh towels, no one came. It was Christmas week. We called the front desk and went down to get new towels ourselves. Only other issue was the fridge was frozen over. We had to thaw to be able to use it. My hubby took care of the problem.

Staffs are really nice and they don’t ignore you. When I come by the reception, they ask me right away if I need anything. It’s like they are happy that we are their guests. My kids like the pool table, the gym, and we can relax by the living area. A really nice hotel. I would recommend it for everyone.

My initial reservation was for a handicap accessible room. However, it had a bathtub instead of roll-in shower. I called and was put in a standard room with a walk-in shower. This was an okay accommodation, however, I requested a removal handicap chair that could be in the shower. The front desk clerk was adamant that there was no chairs.

The room was fine. I was surprised about the broken chair in the room since the hotel is still relatively new. I was also surprised about the poor water pressure in the bathroom.

On 11/18 The daytime customer service deters customers. I booked a room for one night to stay while working from out of town. I checked before working overnight. The job went past time and I wasn't going to make it back to the room before checkout. I called to let the front desk. I was in a bind. Facing a four hour ride back home, and no sleep for 30hrs, I asked for a later checkout. She understood and for a rate, I booked it. It was an excellent idea for those in my situation. After reactivating my room key, I laid down for an expected two hours of sleep. I got a light knock on the door in the first hour that I chalked up to room service not being informed. The next hour, another knock follwed by someone trying to get in. Luckily I had the stopper set. I was fully awake now. I cracked the door after loud knocks and the manager yelled, (word for word)"You shouldn't be in this room past checkout. I'm headed back downstairs and of you're not there 5 minutes after i get there, I'm calling the police. She walked off. I finished the time we agreed on and went to the lobby. The manager goes on to tell me there was no way i was allowed in that room, hotel policy, rooms needing to be filled, etc. all of which was an internal issue once i paid for services. Agreed to disagree and was met in the parking lot by four police officers. I thought i was a reward member.

We booked 2 nights and only ended up staying 1. The bathroom had hair in the walls and on wall mounted shampoo . We found even more hair on the towels and pillows. It was not a clean room and I have not heard back from management on refunding the 2 night.

First time I’ve stayed at this location! Don’t stay on the first floor!!! The cleaning staff was loud and woke me up…. My light next to my bed did work and we did not have an ice bucket!! I paid a good price but the rooms are subpar!!!

The shower had hair in it and looked like it was not cleaned. Their was pink mildew in the shower as well. They can do better at cleaning, this is Hilton. People stay for the name and reputation.

Didn’t know there was an airport shuttle! Stay was good. Quiet & clean. Good a/c & shower. Loved the lemon bath wash! Plan to stay again at the end of our trip. Staff was friendly. Lots of shopping nearby! Delicious Mexican restaurant right next to hotel. Can walk across the parking lot to it. Los Burritos! Scrumptious!!

We checked in and were not told by the front desk that the hot water wasn't working until we tried to shower and then called and they told us. The front desk was nice enough to explain what we had to do to get the refund through Expedia. We did not stay there. We went elsewhere.

Heard a LOT of traffic and the A/C unit made a lot of noise when turning on and when on, so we didn't get good sleep. Also, the beds were super saggy on the sides. If you didn't want to feel the springs, you had to try and balance in the middle. There was no fan in the bathroom and no shelves in the shower, but the shower had good water pressure. The sink, however, had zero water pressure. It was basically a drizzle.

The staff were okay but not very friendly. There are no laundry facilities which is very inconvenient for guests. The doors are locked from 7pm-7am which is inconvenient if you want to have food delivered. The worst part was the cleanliness of the room. They didn’t clean under the bed at all and there was A LOT of hair and dirt. There was hair and dust on the furniture as well. No extra towels are provided so each guest only has one set. The facility is pet friendly which is great but with the lack of cleanliness it made me feel uncomfortable having my pet there. Overall, the stay was okay but they could certainly improve these areas to make it more convenient and comfortable for guests.

Would not recommend staying here if you have kids with you, as they will most likely be woken up many times due to loud music and people screaming out in the parking lot. The following afternoon, around 1–2 PM, I was approached by a manager or supervisor who berated me for parking there. I apologized and explained the situation, but was told my only option was to park across a four-lane divided highway—in a lot belonging to a furniture store, not an official overflow area. That is not a safe or reasonable solution for a paying guest, especially as it creates a real risk of trespassing and towing. When I returned an hour later and parked across multiple regular spaces to avoid blocking EV chargers, I was again met with hostility, yelling, and threats to have my vehicle towed. At that point, I chose to check out early rather than endure further confrontation. Not only was there no accommodation made for a guest traveling with a larger vehicle, but I also paid full price for a room without being provided safe or reasonable parking access. The way this situation was handled left a very poor impression, and I hope you will review your policies and staff conduct to ensure other guests do not have the same experience.

Overall, a good place to stay. The floors needed sweeping; they were not clean. Asides from that, all good.

There were also drink marks on the nightstand and finger streaks across the tv. Prior to completing this negative review, I filled out the hotel’s feedback form and reached out to the hotel via email and heard nothing back.

Last night there we had 6 people join us among them my 2 grandchildren (8 &4) the two women at the front desk sat there on their phones and yelled at the kids about the swinging chair. Nothing was said to any of us adults which ended up having the 5 yr old in tears as he was frightened. Will not stay here again.

The property was clean and I love the personal welcome on TV. The bedsheets in room 203 appears not changed because I saw that the sheet was not fresh and observed dirt on the bed sheet. Otherwise I was satisfied with my stay.

I appreciate that the property was well-lit at night and conveniently close to the mall. The complimentary breakfast was a plus!

We checked in late and just wanted to get to bed. Our room was the last one available that night. After a lengthy check-in, we got up to our room to find that the shades would not go up or down. The thermostat had no reality to what the actual temperature in the room was. The tub did not drain and had stains on the bottom. The lightning was complicated and even with all of them, mine was insufficient. We did not complain as it was now one in the morning and just wanted our sleep, knowing there was no other room to get. When I spoke to the front desk the next morning, the girl was immature, cried and could not do anything to compensate us and or deal with the situation.

The incidental fees are kind of an inconvenience. M-Th is $75 for the whole stay then on the weekend its $100 per day. That needs to be stated when booking online or at least included in the fees especially when paying online.

Check in was at 3 and my room was not ready until 5. Front desk did not seem to have a care in the world.

The bathroom ceiling looked like it was going to fall down in an area clearly impacted by a water leak. There was a stain found on the sheets the next morning. Had we noticed it the night before we would have asked to be moved. The blinds in the room didn’t work so we had to leave them closed and the room was not well lit.

Loved the aesthetic of the property. The two people who came to change the sheets saw it an issue that we stripped the bed down for them. I thought it would be helpful but I heard the lady say ‘they are always doing too much’ so I assume they don’t strip the need and provide new shears

Stayed 4days room not cleaned once each time staff made excuses had to get my own clean towels trash in room the entire stay. Addressed with front desk to still not being done. Never experienced this at any of my stays. Awful waste of my vacation!!!

The bathroom was clean and we loved the walk in shower and the squeezable bottles of soap and shampoo. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. The only downside was that there was no fan in the bathroom and when we arrived there were dirty linens and garbage lining the hallway outside of the doors which was never picked up. It was all still there in the morning. My impression after seeing the garbage and dirty linens was that it was possible that the room wasn’t clean. It was definitely clean but it was strange seeing all the dirty items lying in the hallway.

The rooms are very small. The smallest I have seen in a Hotel. They don't clean your room everyday. We had to ask for fresh towels. No coffeepot in the room. It doesn't have a closet just a bar to hang clothes on. For the money we paid for the room not worth it.

The hotel is located in a nice area with everything close by. Management is very unprofessional, rude and no customer service appreciation. The room was not cleaned properly, there were garbage and dust behind and underneath the bed. If you have kids, I don’t recommend this hotel, management would come to your front door for any kind of noise during Normal hours.

Breakfast was disappointed. Me and my family are vegetarian and we couldn’t eat most of them. Even scrambled eggs are with ham.. you should definitely add more things for vegan/veget

Enjoy my stay. We had a few issues but the front desk resolved it quickly.

Called Hotels.com for help and only received a small refund and not in real money. The hotel supervisor said she couldn’t help since we booked 3rd party- just some Hilton Rewards points. All in all a waste of money. Booked here because they had the highest rating.

I liked that I was able to shop right across the street. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great.

Quiet and good rest

I’d driven long distance from Florida and super-appreciated easy late check-in at 1:30 am. Everything was fine except floor was sticky/dirty. I could also have done without the blaring cacophony of multiple TV morning programs when I went down to breakfast.

Will never stay at another Tru if this one represents all. Management and front desk need to learn good customer service. Got to room - had no TV service - was told by front desk that she was not an electrician and after waiting for maintenance to come for 45 minutes was then told that they were off for the night so, we would have to go without a tv until the next day. We understand things happen, a simple apology would have gone a long way.

The two nights I stayed there. There was a machine knocking every minute on the clock. There were younger people partying all night two nights straight. The second night I could not take it so I called the front desk at 3 am in the morning. All night doors slamming. Pot smoking, and loud music. Customer service was terrible. I arrived an hour late before check in and my room still wasn’t ready the front desk gave two other people the same style room they arrived after me. Once I opened my room for the Bottom of it was broke. Breakfast was trash. I hate leaving bad reviews worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Also on top of this they did not refund me my money due to the non refundable policy. You will be better off spending $80 staying at motel 6. Nobody cleaned my room. Restocked my towels. Terrible day experience overall.
