Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its excellent location and friendly staff. Many guests enjoyed their stay and found the rooms clean and comfortable. However, some guests had issues with the room size, temperature control, and noise level. There were also complaints about the hotel's amenities, such as slow or non-functioning WiFi and lack of microwaves in the rooms.

The bar was a nice spot to relax and enjoy perfect cocktails.
- 2/5
Great location with helpful staff. Very dated, non-transparent prices. Awful food, dirty room/carpet. Walls were so thin that I could hear guest next door vomiting all night. Needless to say, I won’t be back.
- 5/5
Perfect location, great service and very clean hotel.
- 5/5
Great experience. No issues with anything and check in was really easy. Parking was close and easy to understand for someone not used to the city!
- 5/5
Great place to stay. I was there for a conference and evening was super smooth.
- 1/5
I brought this to their attention and I was told this was what I paid for. The desk agent also said the Murphy bed was like all the other beds in the hotel. No so. The room next to ours had 2 regular size/type beds. The whole experience was very much “take it or leave it “.
- 5/5
Great location. Hotel and room were very well maintained.
- 4/5
Proximity to every thing There wasn’t much to complain about.
- 4/5
Everything is very costly at this hotel.
- 5/5
Great service and location! Would stay again!
- 2/5
Disappointing
- 5/5
The room itself was clean and tidy and importantly nice and quiet despite its downtown location. The bathroom was a little worn in relation to the shower but it did the job fine. The cafe on site is useful if you want a quick snack. I didn’t manage to eat at the restaurant as it is not open all week which I didn’t initially realise. All in all I’d def recommend this hotel for someone looking to stay Downtown in a clear and tidy and well looked after place.
- 5/5
Absolutely every was amazing
- 5/5
Clean room, very spacious! Staff was very friendly. The hotel was in walking distance of many restaurants and activities. Great overall experience there!
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel, expensive but beautiful and great location also.

I hated the $35/day of added Marriott Destination Charges. The Marriott charge notification was added in small letters at the end of printout. The savings I expected from Orbitz was disipated by this Marriott charge. I have been using Orbitz services for decades. I expect Orbitz to help and protect me. I expected your fee would cover all costs. You have disappointed me and spoiled my visit to Chicago I want you to get Marriott to give me my money back!

rooms are a bit outdated, lots of paint chips on the walls and stains in the shower. My first room that I was placed in the toilet did not flush and the bathroom light did not work, I had to go back down to the front desk to ask for a new room,

I enjoyed my stay
- 4/5
Great stay with all nice places near by . Our bedroom window view was not good because of the crack/plastic wrap damaged creating obstruction in the view outside from the glass window. It should have been clear as you stay there for nice views from your room .
- 5/5
Staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make out stay great.
- 4.5/5
Pretty comfortable over all, no complaints really.
- 4.5/5
Pretty comfortable over all, no...
- 5/5
Breakfast menu was good, staff at the lounge was good. Checking in was not so good, they wanted to charge me $25 to check in 15 minutes before the time. I think it would be better to say the room is not ready yet the saying your room is ready but is not 2 and if you want it now it will be an extra $25. That I think is ridiculous, which took away from my experience.
- 4/5
Every person at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping was friendly and attentive. Conveniently located on the Magnificent Mile. Overall it was a good visit, just the air was out for awhile.
- 5/5
This hotel is in the perfect location - close to everything, walkable and safe. The staff is very helpful and welcoming.

The hotel has a very busy lobby with food and drinks available for purchase. The only con is the line that forms when needing to talk to a representative. Other than that, the rooms were nice, view amazing, and staff welcoming and friendly.
- 5/5
The hotel was top notch with an amazing bar and welcoming staff. The rooms are nice too with great views. The carpet in our room was a little worn, but overall the room was comfortable and clean. All the staff we encountered were nice and friendly. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
The rooms are nice. I was a little disappointed to find out there would be a hold of 80 dollars each day on a credit card
- 4/5
clogged tub ( still clogged as we left), dirty air filter( almost black)- seems never replaced, worst mattress ever, had requested soft pillows for back / neck issues( confirmed with hotel ahead of arrival- forgotten), requested small cake or something for milestone bday celeb( agreed and then forgotten by team).. best part was the mgr and staff on duty( night of 10th and am 11th).. Thanks to them that I give a 3 star

It was great.
- 4/5
Staff, location, food very good but the rooms were meh… fine but was expecting more
- 3/5
We didn’t get the room we thought we booked. Very disappointing. The staff was nice but said this happens a lot because third party reservations. We DO NOT like booking through any place but directly through the hotel. Customer service has definitely changed over the years. We used to like Marriott but because of this we try and book at smaller hotels who answers their phones and makes their own reservations.

- 5/5
Room was great. Spacious and comfy even with 2 moms and 2 teenage girls.
- 3/5
Prime location for food, shopping, and entertainment. Was only able to turn on heat setting in room, it was in the 60s outside so the room was 86 degrees when we entered and only got as low as 73 degrees for our stay ( after propping the door open) The shower was also disappointing due to the fact that the shower head had zero pressure and the bathroom had no ventilation so with it being 80 degrees in the room this was extremely uncomfortable.

Quiet room. Friendly staff. Conveniently located in the heart of Chicago!
- 3/5
The parking and meal package was not worth it. Rate is for self parking and food not tasty. I was in a suite where the couch had spots on it and was outdated in general . Room aesthetic were just ok.,
- 1/5
Very poor

Downstairs lobby was so relaxing and fun during St Pattys weekend. Had the same view they showed in the flyover! The toilet acted weird. Didn’t have water running to it properly. We were given the wrong beers which was an issue given how much we were charged.

The service and friendliness of the staff was phenomenal. Especially Ralph at check-in, Mason at the bell station and I believe his name was Jordan, at the bar. Nothing that I can think of.

Fisrt off the T.v. didn't work great the nice man in engineering did come to help. And tried. They insulted me at checking out by saying I owed something I had already paid. The room was not stocked correctly. And the desk was dirty Over all I was highly disappointed. And who doesn't carry lemons in the restaurant When you order room service. Literally beside myself Breakfast was good.
- 3.5/5
Location The bathroom is very small, and the beds are smaller than expected, which made the room feel a bit cramped. Unfortunately, the noise level was a problem during our stay. There were people shouting in the hallways late at night, which made it difficult to rest. The reception area was also very crowded most of the time, making check-in and general movement through the lobby less comfortable.

Love the high floor views and easy access to stores since the location is in the heart of the city Building upon their aquatic facilities. Also better TVs, they would sometimes lag or even have severe input lag but that is minor

Room was very spacious and clean! Had a great view of the city. Staff was very nice and greeted us everytime we came in and out of the hotel
- 2/5
Did not eat there.
- 5/5
We absolutely love this hotel, especially for the location and cleanliness. We've stayed in Chicago before and it was great, but this was even better because of how much you can do in a short amount of time. We were able to walk to every location we planned including museums, the architecture boat tour, dinners, bars, etc. We would be so happy to come back!
- 5/5
The receptionists at Check-in were excellent. The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful and pleasant. The fitness center was outstanding. The bed was really comfortable and clean. The location and views were great

Hotel was excellent. Service was outstanding. Rooms were clean and everything was perfect. Location was amazing.
- 4/5
The place was beautiful, awesome location, great room, BUT I had the most uncomfortable and generally rude interaction when checking in.
- 1/5
I contacted the Chicago Marriott Food & Beverage Managers however, they refused to provide a resolution to my request about over charges at the Harvest Restaurant.
- 5/5
Bathrooms could use some updating
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Location was perfect with access to shopping and sights. Only complaint was despite having the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, housekeeping was knocking on the door at 8am.

Room was clean and staff was friendly!
- 5/5
Convenient location, clean, very nice staff. The only down side - more variety at breakfast and improved menu please
- 4/5
This Marriott property is located conveniently near shops, dining options, entertainment, etc. The hotel is modern with nicely appointed rooms. The check-in process could be improved with more staff. The breakfast buffet is excellent with many varieties of food. However, it is a bit expensive.
- 4.5/5
Room was very clean, great view. There was no room service and we had to go to the "pantry" often.
- 5/5
I had a room that did not have a luggage rack and unfortunately there were no others available for the weekend. This would be my only complaint however.
- 5/5
Great choice
- 5/5
Everything was great - the front desk staff was especially nice and friendly and helpful
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Clean and Friendly
- 4/5
Very large property in a great location but it is always busy so the foyer is like a human zoo with people teeming and never enough staff to cope - as much as they try their best to accommodate everyone they are very much understaffed. Property is a bit tired and could do with a refurbishment
- 5/5
Great, clean rooms. I love the breakfast and the Starbucks with the breakfast specials downstairs right in the middle of Downtown and great Personel.
- 5/5
Loved everything about the hotel. Of Inhad any recommendations it would be about the club lounge. i felt the hotel could do a better job at extending the breakfast hours by 1 additional hour in the morning and having the lounge open during the day for a quiet space , work area with coffee and water. I have stayed at Marriotts all over the world and this is usually an option. I feel for the price point and access the hotel misses the mark ref this lounge. I also ate that the Harvest restaurant one morning and the food was much better then the lounge reference the quality and taste. Again I feel such a great Hotel Chain can do better for its loyal Customer base.
- 5/5
Room were spacious, rooms aren’t sound proof you can hear police or fire paramedics sirens but overall it was a high floor 1911 which showed the back area of hotel room smelled good hotel has a great big gym no pool on location hotel breakfast was great perk that cam with room booking. Very walkable area to shops and sight seeing points of interest.
- 5/5
Love this hotel!!!!
- 5/5
Chicago Marriot DOwntown Magnificent Mile was great! Stayed for a Friends Getaway Weekend and would definitely do it again! Location, accessibility and proximity were great! Staff and accommodations were above par!
- 5/5
I’ve been to Chicago a few times and this was one of my best stays. I felt very comfortable here and the staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
It was a great view and the room was nice Parking, but that is any hotel in Chicago
- 3/5
Okay spot
- 4/5
Location was good. Everything one might want to see was within walking distance. Didn’t care for parking being off-site. It was very noisy at night. Lots of sirens could be heard during the night. The safe didn’t work in our room and the hair conditioner product wouldn’t dispense. I did ask that they replace it, they had to be asked again to replace it before it was done. I give it a four star rating since it was reasonably clean and all staff I encountered was friendly.
- 4.5/5
Inviting entrance, front desk, room service, cleanliness , in room scan code that had every single thing on it you need to know about Chicago, shower hot water and soap products, location!! In room thermostat. Trouble working it for the ac

Perfect location great hotel
- 1.5/5
Extra fees tacked on
- 2/5
Floor carpet looked too old
- 5/5
I dont like the fact of waiting 5 business to get credited back on your incidental
- 4/5
The staff is amazing and the location is perfect. The design/style of the lobby is very appealing. That said, there is a need for renovation and upgrades. Namely, the windows are single pane so there is a draft and quite a bit of city noise as a result and the carpet in the hallway looks older and dirty so needs to be replaced. I also found small stains on the accent pillows which made me uncomfortable.
- 3/5
Location is terrific. The room is very basic and could use an update soon.
- 4/5
The hotel and rooms were clean. The staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Wonderful location and very nice hotel!
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Location location location!
- 3/5
Well below the Marriott quality. Room was not properly cleaned- dusty lamps, sticky tiles, complimentary items missing. Request for towels was met with clean towels provided but dirty ones (on the floor) not removed. Lobby was exceptionally loud and crowded. Taxes charged were higher than Expedia quote. Not sure how Expedia rewards were applied since ‘benefits’ seemed to be as a result of having paid a daily destination fee.

- 4/5
The room was clean and staff friendly.
- 3/5
Rooms are very outdated for price. We got a room with a city view and the window was so dirty you really couldn't see that well out of it. The rooms are so beige it's really not that inviting. But the staff were very friendly and nice so points for that.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
The breakfast buffet was great! Delicious good!
- 5/5
From check in to check out the staff was most accommodating. Accommodations were great. Recommend it enthusiastically!
- 5/5
Excellent hotel
- 5/5
We came in for a quick weekend visit and enjoyed the hotel as well as the area
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
Excellent service with stunning city view from room.
- 3/5
Hotel and staff was fantastic way better than the Intercontinental. However upon check in the staff charged me for the stay even tho I had already paid in full through hotels.com, the 900$ charge ruined my vacation, that was half of my spending money, it will take up to 7 days to get my refund. The situation as of now seems resolved but I guess il know up to 7 days later to see if I get my refund. Overall it was a negative experience and very frustrating.
- 5/5
Amazing stay for lollapalooza! In a great location with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Awesome view too!
- 5/5
Big and nice
- 5/5
Great stay.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay here. The location was perfect for walking around. We were able to walk to every attraction on our list . The only thing missing is a pool!
- 5/5
The front desk staff demonstrated attentiveness throughout our stay, and the lobby café team operated with notable efficiency. Our room was clean, well-maintained, and offered a stunning view from the 45th floor.
- 5/5
It was awesome
- 5/5
The location was near the places we wanted to visit.
- 5/5
Great for a in the middle of everything spot.
- 4/5
Good but there are better places around for that price
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Protesters and road construction on two sides of the building.
- 3/5
The room I got was not the room in the picture when I booked but it was nice but not worth the money I paid. I would stay there again but in a cheaper room.
- 5/5
Fantastic location. The rooms are very clean if a little dated but we didn't spend much time there.
- 2/5
Never told us about additional charges like a destination fee after paying 1200 for the two nights.
- 4/5
Best location ever! Property is dated and can be noisy when there is an event but that is only on the main floor. Beds are great! Views amazing.
- 2/5
Billing was an absolute mess! Several thousands in hold charges showed pending on our credit card for days against a 3-night stay. Hundreds of dollars billed despite prepaid. $25 Resort Fee with a $25 credit at the Cafe required excessive management of food purchases each day so as to not forfeit the fee. Rate included "free parking" but there was no explanation on how to accomplish resulting in 2 of 3 nights charged for valet parking with zero attempt to resolve the issue from Marriott.
- 5/5
The hotel was a whole vibe. Very nice and clean. Convenient to the all the shops and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The air conditioning system is very poor, they had to send us a fan to our room and the temperature never dropped below 71 degrees
- 3/5
To our surprise, this property was not in good shape. We were on floor 14, and a pipe burst. Due to the water, two fans were blowing the entire day and night. You could hear them in your room, and you could hear the elevator the entire night. We love Marriott hotels, but this one needs a good update.
- 3/5
It was meh. Outside is dirty, inside reeks of cigars and tobacco. Rooms are just ok. Would not book again. I will say the gentleman at the club lounge check in was delightful, I’d go say hi to him but that’s it.
- 3/5
I am platinum member and get breakfast at the concierge level. I didn’t eat or drink there, so effectively I got charged $50 extra for no reason. This should be waived for loyal Bonvoy customers.
- 4/5
Everyone was really nice and valet was very helpful . . . . i would definitely recommend this hotel to my family.
- 5/5
Suite was excellent! Felt honored!
- 3/5
Until my last night they moved me to a better room so 1/5 nights was ok. Additionally, one day one of the cleaning ladies when to clean the room. She was called for lunch at the middle of the task and never came back to finish the room.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Great location, helpful and cheerful staff. Would highly rexommend
- 5/5
The staff was very nice. Conference rooms good.
- 5/5
A great day. The service a check-in was friendly and quick. The room was comfortable and well designed and quite clean. All the staff in the hotel were extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, perfect location to explore downtown Chicago
- 5/5
Great hotel w central location. Tenth time staying here
- 5/5
Only negative was valet parking was $75 and the self parking lot that was recommended was also $75.
- 4/5
Staff was very willing to assist and responsive.
- 5/5
We stayed here for a wedding over the weekend and really enjoyed the vibe of the hotel! It has such a great area for meeting with friends in the lobby by the bar! Loved the Starbucks cafe! And loved how close and convenient it was to so many things!
- 3/5
Room was a bit shsbby
- 4/5
Very convenient location. A bit dated.
- 5/5
Great Hotel I had one VERY small gripe with my room that is honestly too minuscule of an issue to type. The value for the money is unbeatable. Would definitely visit again.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Loved my stay here!
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff. A high standard of cleanliness. Good selection of food and drink.
- 5/5
Need a better selection of food for room service.
- 5/5
Nice property near everything with a very helpful, professional staff.
- 5/5
The Marriot Magnificent Mile was the perfect hotel for my quick work travel to Chicago. The room had a great view, comfy bed and nice shower. Lots of room. The staff were super friendly and made me feel welcome. Thank you!
- 4/5
The staff was great, the elevators were fast to get us to hire floors. Lots of different dining options, although you're paying Chicago prices for food and drinks. Our room though was freezing. Someone installed the heater vent that blew right on the thermostat which never let the room fully heat up. Otherwise it was a great place
- 5/5
Just a short walk away from a variety of different shops/restaurants/cafes/things to do. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, and the city views were amazing.
- 5/5
Between having our room ready early, and having luggage storage for the time between checkout and our flight, we couldn’t have hope for a better stay! All the staff were simply amazing and more than willing to accommodate any request we made. Will definitely be back on future trips to Chicago!

Bad area of downtown, lots of homeless, super crowded streets, if you don’t valet parking is the worst. Staff are very untrained. Room cleaners didn’t change are sheets. Small rooms

The hotel location is wonderful!

My only concerns was when we went to valet park, it took a long time (over 15 mins) to find someone to take the car, and while dining in the Harvest restaurant within the hotel they had a soiled cloth napkin on the table for use. That was a little disgusting to see. With that being said, if u understand that sometimes stuff happens (which we did), you should enjoy your stay!

I am supposed to get room with city view when I checked in, but it’s not available. hotel should have reserved room with city views for me.

The rooms are super small. We got a room by the elevators and it was loud as we could hear the elevators sll night long.

The rooms can be upgraded, and the breakfast could have been better.

It was a awesome stay due to the surroundings and atmosphere along with the service staff was above and beyond to take care of the patrons.

The whole thing about the required $25 "Destination fee" was not explained at checkin, and was really annoying. It's one of those hidden fees that make travel un appealing. AND no one at check-in, no card or note explained how one could receive a complimentary bottle of water. I was told by another guest on the second day how to get water. Again ...at check in no one said you had to ask for water at the desk. Meanwhile, the $7.00 bottle of water was always in the room and was NOT deductible from the required $25.00 "Destination fee." Really this was totally poor service.

While the hotel was conveniently located and the room was nice, the layout of the hotel was confusing. It is also difficult to figure out how to get service within the hotel. Food options are very limited. Most aggravatingly, the hotel does not provide free WiFi. To circumvent the $14.99/day WiFi fee, you must sign up for Marriott Bonvoy. Meanwhile, getting an electronic receipt, which can apparently be generated at checkout, takes over two days. Don't bother calling the hotel because you will be routed to customer service, which will be completely unhelpful. It was a disappointing experience during and after our stay.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of space for gathering. Close to everything and extremely walkable. Perfect location for sightseeing!

There is also a very lively cocktail lounge area right in the main lobby.
