Clean and maintained property. It looks like the rooms have been remolded recently. I stay in “hotel block” off Cicero often. I will say this location was very close to the street which is a little more noisy than other hotels.

We had an ADA accessible room and, when you stepped into the shower, water bubbled up from under the tile and it was not real clean. The sink had a crack all the way across. Breakfast was OK, but I really think a $30 per night parking fee was a bit much when there seemed to be plenty available in their lot. There was no one at the desk when we tried to check out about 8:30 and I waited for several minutes. Overall, overpriced all around, but so is most of Chicago.

Close to the airport . Convenient shuttle that ran 24 hr/day We got in late and left early. There wasn’t any option for an early breakfast, only coffee and tea. You could offer pastries or fruit, even packaged oatmeal.

I arrived late at night after a full day of travel and they helped me get checked in and to my room quickly. The room was clean and comfortable. Convenient location near Midway airport. I didn't notice any noise from the roads or airport. The channels on the TV were limited, and the HDMI port didn't seem to work or I couldn't get the Source to change, so I just watched some shows on my laptop before sleeping. It wasn't a big deal since I wasn't there for long and mostly just needed sleep.

The staff at the Holiday Inn Express Midway were very friendly during our stay. The breakfast was also good, providing some different options daily with style of eggs and sides. The parking lot did fill up since there are a couple of other hotels in that section using the same lot, but we were able to still find a spot and didn’t have any problems with our car in a busy lot.

Be careful with false fees. Me and my daugther are being charged a smoking fee even though my daughter is a minor and I cant smoke due to health problems. We have called and emailed them and we still dont get our deposit back.

Everything was good, I wasn’t aware that I had to pay for parking $30/day, this is a lot of money. Everything else was good. I know for sure that I will not stay there anymore because I don’t want to pay for parking. Be more specific, tell people before they book how much they need to pay for parking so they can make a decision. Do not just say parking available.

A warm greeting from Nathan. He is a gem. I have a walking aid after surgery so they really wanted to help me. In Jill and Daisy they have two of the most helpful front desk ladies I have ever met. They checked in on me periodically to check on my needs. Also they made sure I had a good food delivery choice a as I was not able to go out. I needed to do some computer work and they helped with that. A good team usually has a good leader and I have to mention the general manager Glen. He saw I was a bit challenged in getting my breakfast going to a taxi. Top man. These kind of individuals are not the norm so please pay a visit.

I frequent this particular location because of access to nearby restaurants and shopping. I have always had a comfortable stay.

The hotel was perfectly fine for a short stay. The location is convenient to Midway Airport and several major highways, and the free coffee and breakfast were welcome amenities. It was a bit annoying to have to pay extra for parking, particularly since the parking on offer is basically a huge lot that's shared by multiple hotels and quite a few chain restaurants as well. But it does seem like everyplace in Chicago charges for parking these days, even in areas of the city where space isn't at any obvious premium.

The location (Midway Airport) is very convenient. It's near dining and shopping establishments.

This property was good. The staff was pleasant, and helpful. Check in was a breeze. Rooms were clean and the free breakfast was good also. The only CON was the fee($100 per day), that is released after check out if you didn’t damage anything, and/or consume any of their snacks/drinks. There was nothing in writing(on line) when I booked that stated there was a $100/ day fee. I was quoted $337 and come change, and ended paying $537 and some change. But overall I would I enjoyed my stay and would stay again

Have used this hotel twice. Not sure why we would stay anywhere else when visiting Chicago. Very clean, comfortable and outstanding staff.

Hotel was overall good- bathrooms are a bit dated and the carpet. Some of the front desk staff was nice- others not so much. I did have an issue with the toilet in my room and was moved to another room asap

Wish I had read the reviews more in-depth. This is one of the filthiest hotels I have ever stayed at. Carpet and floors are dirty. Tub was dirty. Not one but 2 of the towels had hair in them. I am so grossed out right now. Not even funny. There is better lodging right next door. Marriott and Hilton.

I paid 178$ for a room that hadn’t been cleaned had hair in the tub on the bathroom floor and the bathroom sink had old coffee still in it and to top it all off the previous tenant through up on the floor which was never cleaned up I loved the bed so I tried to find a tag but instead found a used syringe under the bed

Charged us with a 350.00 because they said we were smoking. My daughter and I checked in around 10:30 pm and left at 6:15 am to catch a flight. Our toilet wouldn’t flush so when we left I reported it didn’t work. Two days later I have a $350 charge and I am told a sensor in the room showed smoking. I called to talk with the manger and his response was to take it up with the credit card company. Is there a slight chance it was your repair guy!!!! So my $150 Expedia room ended up being over $600.

My only issue was how thin the walls and windows are. You can hear when someone flush their toilet and you can hear the buses/cars/airplanes, but for that area to be as busy as it was, the noise wasn't loud.

Holiday Inn was clean & convenient. The shuttle was a nice plus. I thought the price for one night was a bit high. My flight was canceled & I picked The Holiday Inn because I always enjoy staying there.

The room wasn’t properly cleaned. There was hair all in the tub and on the toilet as if someone shaved. The tub filled up when trying to shower. The heat didn’t work in the room. Then the worker at breakfast was rude for no reason.

Great shuttle to and from Midway. But on the downside the shower didn't work. Water came out of the faucet for the tub but didnt have time for bath. Spoke with hotel after the fact and they just apologized. Which is nice but when paying $270 for one night I would hope my shower would work. I would expect at least partial refund offered for the inconvenience.

Staff was very friendly and courteous, room clean and spacious, plenty of amenities. Two things: We didn't get to enjoy the complimentary breakfast as we had to be at the airport by 6am and the Second was, the parking fee seemed a bit out of line.

Oatmeal was watery and the breakfast manager was upset because I stirred it. Checking in. Ihg member morning desk worker due to booking with expedia Don't even have my membership # in the system I told the morning Manager that the heater did not work and she acted like she didn't care. Ask for late checkout they said no but they didn't even have cleaners their that day People at front desk very quick to give a response to rush you off.

Last minute booking due to cancelled flight

Easy check in, clean room. Refrigerator did not close correctly but we made it work.

The room loose plugs and burnt outlets, stained rugs, stained shower curtain. Loose toilet seat and one of the needs was missing a leg so it wobbled. I have pictures and video I will be sending the manager.

First, I would like to thank The hotel for an Incredible shuttle services. After landing into Chicago, the shuttle service was right there immediately to transport me to the beautiful Holiday Inn express Hotel. Once arriving to the hotel everything went smoothly. The hotel is beautiful. The customer service is spectacular. Breakfast was a delight, everything that you would eat for breakfast was definitely available. The oatmeal is a must have, It was so delicious. The rooms were very clean, the floors spotless, towels were sparkling white, all the amenities were great. My overall stay which was two nights and three days was amazing and I would definitely come back again.

For an airport hotel that was super reasonably priced, this hotel was surprisingly nice. Very clean and comfortable room and free airport shuttle in the morning.

The first room we were given smelled like something died on the bed. They moved us but the room was still dirty with items broken. Very unexpected for this chain and not expected based on reviews.

I pointed out their lies, and left to find a new hotel. As I booked a new hotel, they called me and said somehow the room is available? An hour later, the room that was supposedly sold,(that I booked a month in advance) and "the hotel was completely booked that night" my room is suddenly available? They don't say anywhere In their policy that you have to check in before 7:30 pm or the room is gone. The worker claimed that because they were fully booked that night, they were calling to "authorize payments." If a hotel calls the evening before someone checks in to make sure they have "sufficient funds/payment on file", it makes me wonder where else are they dropping the ball. No hotel checks to see if the person booking has a authorized payment method that day, ESPECIALLY after sending not one but TWO confirmation emails weeks before. Ended up staying somewhere else, was able to get an ADA accessible room at the other hotel, and learned my lesson not to trust holiday inn.

Very clean, neat and comfortable place to stay. Softy bed, spacious bathroom, definitely great place to stay. Didn’t have breakfast here. Transportation is convenient. There is a bus station just out side of the hotel and you can take a bus for five minutes to arrive at the subway station to go to anywhere you want. Chicago style pizza, Panda Express, Starbucks and Dunkin’ around this neighborhood. Staff are overall kind and negotiable. Great stay here.

Then the room. You can hear the traffic nearby day and night and the bathtub and sink drain were slow. The bathtub was not as clean as you’d like it to be. The bed was really uncomfortable, old, the squeaky springs type. Overall I’ll never come back to this hotel.

The room was fine, but outside there was a loud screeching noise that happened about once a minute all night, long, and then every five minutes or so a huge dumping sound. It kept my wife awake most of the night. Apparently there was construction at the hotel next-door. The room was clean, except that there was a tissue stuck into the vent in the bathroom that was not taken down and thrown away. And the lamp cover had been torn by someone previous to us. On the bright side, the staff were very friendly and nice. Breakfast was pretty good.

The most important thing is that I was charged when I came to check in when I already paid through a third party company. Turn extra $530 was taken out of my account Plus $430 from the third party company and this was only for two nights. I understand that the front this person made a mistake but she really did not take the time to look into it. Now I have to wait several days until that money goes back into my account. The reason I paid it in the first place is because I was tired and my mother is in the hospital right now, and me and my mother are 3 hours away from home. I had a lot on my mind at the moment. The carpet really needs to be cleaned. The breakfast was great, that's a really good breakfast selections. Staff in the morning was great and very apologetic for what happened. But I still don't have any money until they fix the issue with that payment.

Amazing breakfast selection, well stocked and very well maintained. Due to some construction it was extremely difficult to find front entrance and had much maneuvering in parking lot to get there. All of our Uber drivers got lost.

The guy who checked us in was very friendly. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, too. Very close to Midway airport - a five minute drive, with a convenient shuttle that leaves every 20 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Staff is great. Did transportation with ride share and it was easy. Several different places to eat within walking distance.

The place was very clean, friendly front desk . Room cleaner was very friendly as well. Place was kept up very well. The food on the weekend was GREAT not so much thru the week

Loved the proximity, and airport shuttle, to the airport. The staff was friendly, breakfast perfect, and the bed comfortable.

Overall it was fine. I only stayed one night. There Is no Place to Park your vehicle, and there were gnats in my room, and a very loud crickets in my shower drain that chirped all night.

The amenities state that parking is free but my receipt says that i paid for parking.. so its a bit misleading that is whats stated on the site i booked on and on my itinerary but my bill says otherwise also i didnt even get to park by the hotel at all because parking was all taken i parked on the other end of the marriot amd had to walk back to the hotel. So to see that i got charged for parking for a place i didnt get to park at is a little frustrating.

I was on a one night layover. The hotel was clean and the bed was comfy - nice bed linens! The staff was super friendly. All around good value except it's kind of in the middle of nothing. A short walk across the parking lot is a Starbucks and a gastropub with decent food. If I ever have a layover at MDW again, I would stay here.

I liked the hotel's location, but parking became an issue at night due to the number of parked cars.

But it is also right across the street from Lou Malnotti's pizze. So I bought four pizzas and put them in a cooler to fly home. The staff helped me store it in a refrigerated area, to keep them cool. They didn't have to. But thank you thank you!

I don’t know what happened

There is a motorcycle convention at our hotel. Was not advertised at all. Had someone in a Harley-Davidson park outside of our room all night long. Playing extremely loud music. When talking to the manager they said it was outside of their property and they couldn't do anything about it. However, there is security on site and you think they could do a slightly better job. And when I say noise, I meant from 8:00 in the evening till 3:30 in the morning, multiple motorcycles with extreme exhaust and excessively loud music playing.

The staff were polite and friendly and the accommodation looked very clean however I hI ended up with bed bugs all over me. They changed my room but that was it. I will never stay at another Holiday Inn.

Bathtub chipped, slippery and to small. Bathroom could use a facelift. Bed was great! Refrigerator in our room did not work. Staff offered to replace it but we didn't need it.

The hotel was fine. We appreciated the breakfast. It was well done.

Perfect for one night away close to public transport and airport

Exactly what you’d expect from a holiday inn. Clean. Convenient. Inexpensive. Nothing fancy. Bed was comfy and room was clean.

Dirty Dirty! Bathroom sink was leaking, toilet broke second day (someone fixed it), contact lenses were in the bathroom and tons of hair from previous folks who used the room. I stayed in room 215. Walls are thin you can hear people talking next door in normal voice. Will not recommend.

Building shook with airport so close

Parking was not free, it is around $31.00 a day. When you book this hotel it advertise free parking. I didn’t have to pay because I presented the advertisement to the hotel manager. If you book this hotel check to see if it’s still advertising free parking.

Right next to the airport with shuttle services timing every 15 minutes. Clean, convenient, and friendly staff. Breakfast is hot and fresh every morning. We were pleased with our stay.

The hotel was nice and clean. The decor is outdated and needs a little help. The bed was confortable and the airport shuttle was a plus. Room # 215 shouldn't be a room. You hear every conversation at the front desk, the phone ringing, elevator, etc. Please bring ear plugs.

This is my second time staying there both times for 1-2 days. It is near the Midway airport and closer to downtown than O'Hara. It is clean and quiet. And the staff is nice and helpful.

This property would be perfect with blinds that were thicker. Staff was wonderful.

I checked in at 1AM and Jill seemed like she was done with the day and wasn’t very friendly. When I checked in. I was checked into a dirty room stains on bed, hair in the fridge and dirty clothes left behind. When I mention it to Jill. She did not apologize she did not have empathy she did not use the LEARN method. Instead she shook her head and took 10 mins to change me rooms and tell me they sold out! She changed me to a double room which is not what I book. Entering this room there was food on the floor. Which I mention to the front desk to have our room cleaned and they did not clean the room. This hotel is nasty the manager obviously doesn’t care about the hotel. He has his housekeepers putting in minimal work. I could believe they don’t even change the sheets especially if I walked into two dirty rooms. I immediately wanted to check out but it was 1AM and my reservation was already paid through Expedia which the next morning the agent at the front desk stated they hate third party reservations and they’re wasn’t anything they could do but remove the parking. I explained and showed her where I paid for parking already. This experience was by far the worst I have endured. Hopefully the manager will take time to actually inspect the rooms bc clearly they were not inspected and he will talk to the front desk agent.

This was my second stay at this property. I also stayed in 2019 while visiting family. This experience was very different. I was shocked at the upkeep. All of the trash cans have been over flowing since Thursday. The carpet is in dire need of shampooing. And the property has made several unauthorized attempts to debit my credit card. I will not be returning!

Great check in service. She was very accommodating and helpful. Also changed my room when my current one didn’t have a working drain.

The staff and location are great. We will stay here again. The only issue was the AC unit. The cover seemed to come loose and caused a rattling noise throughout the night. We were already sleeping and too tired to change rooms but would have requested a change if we knew about it earlier.

Several options and convenience to food locations

Don't stay at this hotel, there are a lot of choices nearby by pick any of them. This hotel added over $2,000.00 in extra charges to the room charge. From parking to some hidden smoking charge, even though I don't smoke. I complained when checking out because I was unaware of all these extra charges, so they reversed $901.00 but then still charged another $600.00 This place is a scam!!!

Hotel was really nice, comfortable, and clean. Neighbors were noisy and we could hear everything until late at night. Pancake machine was out of order. Lady at the breakfast area with the glasses was not very nice. Maybe she could take a training class on customer service skills. Front desk staff was awesome.

Great hotel the extra charges were insane! An extra $30 a night for parking and $75 a night for damage fees. All together it was nice beds were comfortable and everything was around it!

Great place to stay when flying in and out of Midway. The hotel had a system crash outside of their control as we arrived and they went out of their way to make sure we were't inconvenienced. Front desk staff we worked with were top-notch.
