All of the hotel staff members were receptive and helpful whenever engaging. The property was beautiful, providing a quality stay with the right level of amenities for business and personal travel alike.

It was a wonderful stay. The only sad thing was the concierge lounge was closed during our stay, and we were really excited to make use of the 1600 club amenities. Overall it was a wonderful stay however.

I had a wonderful time staying at The Blackstone! The location was excellent, the staff was attentive and helpful, and there were many amenities to take advantage of! My room had an amazing view of the lake, and overall, I really enjoyed my stay, and will stay there in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at Blackstone. The hotel is excellent, with outstanding service. We especially appreciated their help with arranging an early check-in, which made our trip much more comfortable. The location is very central, making it easy and safe to get around and explore the area.
- 5/5
The view was gorgeous. Lakeview King room was the perfect backdrop to my stay.
- 5/5
This hotel is perfectly located. It is walking distance of many attractions. The staff is very friendly and made recommendation on places to eat and things to see and do.

We love the Blackstone. We usually book further ahead, but this time was last minute. But the staff at reception were very accommodating and found us a room with a view, but away from the loud music of Latin Fest (which we hadn't realized was happening that weekend). We paid for the Club Level in order to get breakfast but didn't realize it wasn't available on the weekend. No one at reception mentioned that. ("Hey, do you realize that you won't get any of the extras because it's the weekend?"

The room was nice and clean and the staff were excellent. We did the valet parking, and they were very professional, and took great care of our car. The only problem we had was the door for the bathroom offered no privacy. The sliding barn like doors don’t make for good bathroom doors, and would recommend putting actual doors on the bathroom.
- 5/5
Parking and Valet were excellent
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 2/5
Did not have its own parking garage very inconvenient and bringing luggage in was horrible due to stairs you have to climb
- 4/5
Two small considerations: the restaurant closes by 10. Coming home from the theatre, it would have been nice to have a nightcap option that didn’t require an uber ride. The second suggestion would be for reusable cups and a non-caffeinated tea in the room. I reused a coffee cup for tea and unfortunately it had a “cafe au lait” hint!
- 5/5
Excellent hotel for visiting the museums and downtown. Park across the street from Hilton by the Sixt rental, reserve beforehand at half the price compared to the Hilton garage.

The view was amazing(lakeside), the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The Lobby was beyond words and pictures don't do it justice We drove, so parking at the lot in the Hilton was a tad confusing to find and figure out, but manageable.

The room was great, clean and very confortable. Did not have valet parking like it says in website or at least there wasnt anyone at the moment i arrived at the hotel. The website does not show price of parking and found out that was $79 per night, a little to much for not been valet.
- 5/5
Room was very clean & staff was friendly
- 4/5
Clean room, staff was great, could NOT get the WiFi to come up. Not a huge deal but could be problematic for business travelers who has calls to take during day.
- 5/5
Yes the room was great and the service was excellent there was a 150 dollar hold for the room but you get that back great experience overall
- 5/5
We were greeted like royalty and we are far from that status. David the Bellman was incredibly polite, welcoming and so very helpful! Staff at the desk were absolutely fabulous and greeted me with a huge Happy Birthday as I was there celebrating turning 60 with my sisters. They also surprised us with cupcakes in our room. Little weird with the barndoor for the bathroom that didnt close all the way, and the shower had a half door. Never experienced that before. Wasn't hated, just a little weird.

Came in for a couple shows and spent 2 nights at the Blackstone (first timer). South loop location with access to many of the museums. Easy Uber to any other attractions. Staff was great, hotel is historic and very clean. Next time we visit from Detroit plan on staying at the Blackstone.

The rooms were small for the price , no restaurant in the morning for breakfast plus the carpets were dirty and deteriorated and they want it 150 for night extra ,not a reasonable price at all it ruin my vacation plus tha management didn’t do what they need it to do to make it right will never come back even that I am a member will stay with Hilton next time

Everything was wonderful. I loved how well the building was preserved but also offered updated rooms with modern amenities. It’s in the heart of everything and right across from the gorgeous park that made getting some sun super easy.
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel located in Chicago near everything! We walked to a concert at soldier field.
- 5/5
The hotel is pretty good overall, centrally located, but when we arrived the room was not clean, actually I was surprised on how dirty it was, I am sure the changed the sheets and did not even attempt to clean it.
- 5/5
Great restaurants within walking distance. Spacious and cozy rooms with great views of the lake.
- 1/5
Paid extra for a room with a view of the lake. They tell us they over booked and moved us to another room and comped us with drink vouchers and neither of us drink. So I paid extra to stare at walls of other buildings. I would never use this hotel again after how they handled things. I didn’t get money back and got vouchers that didn’t get used. I booked in April and still got booted from my room. What’s the point of reserving early through them or any site!
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, great hotel, beautiful!
- 4/5
Nice staff and great location! Know that you’re paying for the location and not the quality of the room or amenities..
- 5/5
This is an amazing hotel with so much hidden history. The staff was beyond friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to assist in any way. Excellent architecture, gorgeous rooms plus it is an authentic representation of the city of Chicago at its best!
- 5/5
This hotel is beautiful! We had a lake view and our room was beautifully updated. The lobby has its old school grandeur. And the employees were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again and highly recommend it to others in this fantastic location!
- 5/5
As is common among Marriott's Autograph Collection properties, The Blackstone can be characterized as understated elegance. Nothing pretentious, but all class. Very comfortable, clean, and quiet. All staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. It’s in a great location, attractive, convenient and safe. We had a great stay.
- 5/5
We loved our room. The bed was comfy and everything worked. I’m thankful the city is pedestrian friendly, no rental car needed when you stay here!
- 3.5/5
Location is excellent and very walkable to many attractions. Quite poor lighting. And a shocking lack of outlets for the 21st century. The front desk staff during checkout also seemed like they couldn't wait to get rid of me.

I did not like that the elevator from the street level to the lobby was not working. We had to be escorted to the freight elevator for my grandchild in the stroller to access our room.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel was overpriced but matches others in the area.
- 5/5
Very nice one night stay. Friendly staff that seemed happy to work there. Highly recommend

Staff was great and Hotel was clean. Would not stay at this property again. The price is high for the lack of amenities provided. Reserved a King bed but received a Queen bed. Usually love staying at Marriott Properties but this one not so much.

Thought this property was nice and in a good location. The workout room was well outfitted. The room we had was a nice size and quiet. Beds were comfortable. I liked that they were able to let us check in early and that they have a noon check out time. Restaurant at hotel is very good.

Room lock was broken (clearly forced open). The lock was hanging off the screws when I checked in. Also staff were nice but not very helpful. For $1000 reservation, they refused to give me late check out and kept asking me when I was leaving and if I needed help with my bags anytime I passed through the lobby. I felt rushed out every time. Not good.
- 5/5
Great friendly staff and a nice overall atmosphere
- 5/5
Take the blue line right to Jackson stop and walk to the hotel to enjoy the neighborhoods. The Blackstone is stunning, the rooms serene and clean. Our room had a fabulous 9th floor view of the lake. Read “Living Land marks of Historic Chicago” by Goodrich to get an idea of all there is to see. Check out the art hall floor, and art corridor murals a block behind hotel.
- 5/5
Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Location was perfect as we were visiting Columbia College. Millennium Park is a quick walk up the street. Beautiful building with a classy feel!
- 4/5
I think the bed I slept in may have bedbugs. I woke up with bites each morning.
- 3/5
Disrespect for travelers staying in the hotel through the corporate policies of the hotel owner. Additional charges and playing games to use the destination fee. Hassles with internet. Don't stay at a Marriott if traveling for fun, all the annoying pesky problems and blatant disregard will detract from your peace of mind but at least encourage you to spend max time away from the hotel.
- 5/5
The Blackstone is a historic property with lovely facilities. It is right on the #3 bus line- making my ride to the McCormick Place Convention Center easy. There is a lovely park across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel does not offer room service. There is an in-hotel restaurant that looked good but I did not try. The hotel does not offer breakfast options (maybe for those at the Club level?) but did have a list of nearby options. I wish that list was offered to me upon check-in, but that is my only criticism. Loved Chicago and definitely plan to return.
- 5/5
The weather was nice. The hotel room, staff and service were great.
- 5/5
Hotel beds were amazing, things were clean and staff were excellent. Major perk was the door staff; they even made sure my kid didn’t run out into the street while trying to get into the car. Everyone on site absolutely understood the assignment. Amazing place.
- 4/5
Great property located near the park with nearby parking options. I felt the breakfast area could been better with more variety and the restaurant closes at 10pm. The rooms were clean the service was wonderful.

Very cute hotel my room was large we booked the doubled bed. Hotel staff was great just no room service
- 2/5
Hotels.com advertises lounge access with room and dates I selected. The lounge is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. It took hours to convince hotels.com of the error, of which they were declaring I had not read the fine print. There was no fine print or policy stating the closed dates on their website. In the end I received 10% deduction and 1000% aggravation. Hotels.com is quickly becoming irreverent.
- 4/5
No free breakfast and too much for hotel parking
- 5/5
I would have liked to see a mini bar in the room or at least a vending machine on our floor.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Grest stay!
- 2/5
The room was not very clean. The floors were especially dirty. The decor and bed were nice as well as the view of the city. However, if you stay in this room 1006 be prepared to be up all night listening to car alarms as the hotel is situated right next to a garage. Literally we had at least 10 car alarms going off that seemed to never stop. My niece who lives in Chicago says that’s what people do to locate their vehicle! I was thinking it was car theft. Also hotel staff are very deceptive. They told us we had a $25 credit to the restaurant, so of course we spent 140 there thinking they would credit us that 25 dollars on our bill. The waitress even said that is how it would work. When I checked out they charged me this “destination fee” for 25 bucks plus two extra taxes. When I asked about it the manager said that’s how it works? They charge you an additional amount of money? It made zero sense. I also used the Hilton parking garage for a fee of $70 that I was told to pay at this hotel. After I left early in the morning the validated ticket they gave me wouldn’t work. So I had to sit there stopping traffic to call them at the hotel while my husband called the parking garage to get the gate to open. I honestly think this hotel has beautiful features in the lobby but I seriously question the management of this hotel. Beware!
- 4/5
Would’ve given 10/10 had we not had to repeatedly visit the front desk for small inconveniences regarding our room keys.
- 4.5/5
The queen-sized bed was somewhat small, and there are no breakfast options on the premises.
- 4/5
Its nice.

Wonderful clean room
- 5/5
Will stay there again.
- 5/5
Super comfortable beds
- 5/5
We stayed here because of its proximity to Soldier Field and the Museums. We walked there for the Bears vs Seahawks game. The rooms were nice but I couldn’t get past the wad of gum jammed against the wall by the elevator, which is reason for the 3 star cleanliness score. Otherwise it was enjoyable and clean. The Wifi worked great and it was free to me because I was a Marriott Rewards member. Out two teenage boys stayed in the room across the hall and had a great experience.
- 5/5
We loved the ambience and the location. The staff also helped make our stay more special as it was a special occasion.
- 5/5
Amazing stay and property. Will definitely stay there again. Very comfortable and close to tourist spots
- 4/5
The hotel is old/historic, but the rooms are small. I was sick and needed a lot of hot water, but they were not so very readily available. Most of it I had to get in the club that I did not have access to. So it was a pain.
- 5/5
They checked me in and out with no problem and were very accommodating
- 5/5
Excellent service.

Location and decor Carpet in room was ripped up and the toilet seat had something disgusting on it.

Everything was good.

Place was clean and nice
- 3/5
Communication was very poor I was call down to the desk 3 times regarding booking and paying a deposit which should have been done the first night I arrived .
- 2/5
This hotel is in a great location , however it feels like it’s long overdue for a Reno - also the staff seemed to care less whether you were there or not- not an impressive hotel
- 5/5
No complaints
- 5/5
Convenient location
- 5/5
From the second we arrived, we were greeted and helped with our luggage inside the front desk. People were efficient and friendly and knowledgeable and asked about recommendations.. room was plenty big enough large bathroom. Ate at the restaurant on site very delicious. Everything just went very well and the rate was really good.
- 5/5
It’s cute! Our floor was messy.
- 5/5
Pizza boxes left by elevators for 3 days with food inside
- 3/5
The hotel changed my reservation to a different (less desirable) type of room and did not offer me any discount or concession. The key cards would become demagnetized if they came anywhere NEAR a cell phone. We were there for 3 nights and I think we went through about 15 cards. It was incredibly inconvenient. Staff told us they were going to be switching the card system. I’ve never had that happen anywhere else.
- 5/5
Fantastic

Great hotel, great design... Stayed here because the ballroom was used for the movie The untouchables and I wanted to see and experience it for my podcast... Had a great time...
- 4/5
Clean room. Toilet flush was very hard, and the handset for room phone to call the front desk did not work. Had to use the speaker phone which took 4 tries to work. Overall good experience. Like the location and views from our 14th floor room.
- 4/5
Cool historic hotel
- 5/5
The decor was amazing! Loved that the history of the hotel was kept up inside. Nothing
- 0.5/5
Fusty, dreary and dated It was dark, dated and literally, grey
- 5/5
Location was amazing. We had the Lollapalooza festival while there and it was noisy but we where out all of the time so did not affected us.
- 5/5
Great location great food at the restaurant hotel was clean and in good condition and only negative thing was we had a very very grumpy bartender
- 3/5
No room service or gift shop, only room temp water bottles at the front desk.
- 5/5
Such a beautiful property in an amazing location. The staff were extremely helpful. The front desk agent, Diana, upgraded our room so we had an incredible view of Lake Michigan, Grant Park, Soldier Field, etc. she learned that we used to live down the street and she wanted to help us recreate our view! It was wonderful!
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Great location. Plenty of water to stay hydrated!
- 5/5
Always a wonderful stay whenever I’m in Chicago.
- 3/5
Disappointed
- 5/5
Area is very quiet and safe. Hotel could benefit from in-room service
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, lobby smells amazing!!!We picked this hotel because of the location. We went to a concert at Soldier Field. It was about a 20 min walk. Since there's no parking, we parked in the uncovered parking lot behind the hotel for $40 a night. The parking at Hilton across the street was $80. There were plenty of dining options around as well. We would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
This hotel has gone down hill in the past 3 years. The front desk staff is rude and argumentative. I was put in a room thst had no dresser to un pack and only a shelf and a low bar the was blocked by the safe. There was no water pressure in the shower and the water never got hot. We grabbed a quick bite at the restraint. The food was expensive and terrible. After spending a great deal of money hosting guests here for my daughters wedding what I got this time compared to then was like night and day. I forgot to mention a brand new pair of AirPods was taken out of a bag that I had stored under a bench. Security never followed up and I was blown off at check out. Never again will I stay at the Blackstone.
- 5/5
Atmosphere, rooms very nice and clean
- 4/5
It was a nice hotel, however because we booked through Expedia there was a $15 dollar charge per day for the WIFI. Which is BONKERS.
- 5/5
We had great service at this hotel . Everything was great. Nice location!
- 4/5
They need to add security, both at the doors and in the elevator. Should have to use key to get floor. We did not feel safe.
- 5/5
Really good check in experience. Hotel is maintained very well. It is an old hotel, but with modern touches. Easy to get to and to get to events or attractions.
