The rooms are large and well thought out and as a tall person everything is tall. The tv, armoire w beverage center and large soaking tub. The bed is like sleeping on air and the temperature is perfect there are only a few rooms on each floor so it is quiet and no wait for elevator

Incredible stay - we ordered a Grand King room and ended up with a One Bedroom Lake View Suite. Pure luxury in all 3 rooms. Great views including a sliver of Lake Michigan. The staff was super kind - thank Brady for helping us off the street in a flash with our huge cart full of bags. Swam in the rooftop pool every morning and were the only ones in there. The Somerset restaurant was great - loved the potatoes. Separate to-go coffee bar was clutch. No parking or vehicle entryway, but the bellhop service on the curb was excellent. We ended up using spot hero to find a cheaper lot on the block that was around $40/day.

$900 a night and no complementary snacks or parking. Nothing special about this place.

This previous stay with viceroy Chicago was truly amazing. There were a few hiccups at checking in for me and my son but Harrison came in and gave us the experience of a lifetime. We were accommodated on the highest level of our stay. We were so pleased with our stay we stayed an extra 3 days. Big shout out to Harrison for his professional approach and amazing experience.

Fantastic location. Safe, walkable area with many nice restaurants and shopping.very close. Rooms are very spacious with good closet space. The large bathroom was the standout feature with two sinks and the toilet in a private enclosed space for added privacy. Great shower.

I don’t think I have ever encountered a more polite, charming, and informed staff. As someone who has worked in the service industry I assume that your training program does an excellent job. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. We’ll be back.

We had an incredible stay here. The room was very nice as we stayed in a junior suite so the extra charge was definitely worth it. You’re on the 17th floor and you’re able to have a good view of the city. You also are one floor away from the rooftop restaurant and bar. The decor and aesthetics in the hotel are top-notch. Definitely picture worthy. Definitely walkable and it’s less than quarter mile from the hotel to the lake. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend.

It is a very nice hotel, but just some detailed things since it’s supposed to be a 4-5 star hotel…. Lighting was difficult in room, couldn’t turn off large mirror lights without turning off room lights and other smaller lights. Vanity lights were not bright and no makeup mirror. No bath mats were provided. And 1 ply TP (really?)! Bed was not the best for comfort. Other than that, the staff was very nice, welcoming, and accommodating. Style of the hotel was a unique art deco with a lot of character. Great location near Gold Coast and lake front.

My stay was made extra special with the thoughtfulness of managing sending me a token for my birthday. I didn't get the view I wanted in my room but the experience was excellent.

The next morning I contacted the hotel again to report the full incident. They only offered me complimentary room service as compensation. I asked for a full refund for the night due to the disruption, safety issue, and inconvenience, but this was not provided. I would not recommend this hotel to solo female travelers.

It’s very beautiful on the inside they didn’t bother me while I was sleeping to do room service and they just made me overall feel welcomed! I would definitely come stay again I loved it! I loved the decor the staff was really nice and helpful and they had a cute candy caddy out in the lobby and fresh fruit water.

Great location, great restaurant and bar, well designed and comfortable room. We were given a room upgrade, discount on food and beverages and offered late checkout. The only two negatives were that one of the two elevators was out of order for the entire length of our stay which led to long lines. We also didn’t get our room cleaned until 5:30pm on Saturday despite multiple requests. The hotel did offer us a discount on our bill because of the inconvenience from the wait…

The bed was so comfortable. The room was so chic. Everything was so thoughtfully curated. Obviously, you can’t beat the tubs. Everything is so beautiful in this hotel. The location was in a touristy area, but it was close enough to be able to comfortably connect to other areas.

Tye property is beautiful! My room was comfortable and quiet. My only negative experience was the tub was not very clean. It was noticeable soap scum built up in the tub basin. I brought my own cleaning supplies but was kind of grossed out cleaning someone else's dirt. Other than that, a great view in a beautiful room!

Chris at the front desk truly went above and beyond, welcoming us with fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and attractions that made our trip even more memorable. Our room was absolutely stunning, featuring tasteful decor and exquisite artwork that created a warm, inviting ambiance. It was spotless and incredibly comfortable, making me feel right at home.

Clean hotel, small rooms. But despite the “all taxes and fees included” line on Hotels.com when purchasing the room, there was an additional nightly resort fee charged at the hotel.

temperature control was lacking. Our room was extremely hot in the winter. Bathtub took 30+ mins to fill with barely warm water. TV was so laggy it was unwatchable.

We had no hot water in the shower. Something is wrong with the hot water supply to room 710. They sent someone to look at it and it was still an issue the 2nd day. Warm at best for about a minute then cold after that. Also the complimentary water was not replaced after the first day and we had to take the expensive bottle to make coffee. Also there were no robes in the room?

We stayed at the Viceroy Chicago last night and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is stylish, comfortable, and feels thoughtfully designed in every detail. The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. Our room was spotless with a great layout, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel made it easy to relax and enjoy the night. A really lovely stay—highly recommend.

Comfortable is my favorite thing about hotel stays and this was definitely top tier relaxation. Small signs can’t really locate you will miss this gem if not aware of it already. Outside has pests issues. Due to construction issues. :-(

I felt tucked away in my own high-end apartment. The hotel is quaint & quiet. Staff are professional, and the rooms are immaculate.

This was my first stay at a hotel with my dog and they had already placed a dog bed and food bowls in the room. We were greeted with a dog treat and everyone already knew her name and we were greeted by name everytime we went through the lobby.

I’ve had the pleasure of a stay at this hotel more than a few times now and it’s right up there with the Four Seasons and Peninsula, which I adore, but the design is a step above. Friendly but demure staff and a fabulous location…steps away from a number of gorgeous restaurants and my go-to and frequented boutiques when I’m in town. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For drinks, the lush and botanical Pandan felt properly elevated with divine South Asian bites and finesse. I did hit Somerset for brunch; while the quality was fine, it was just 'OK' for me. Major bonus: Since I booked through Expedia, I snagged an automatic 25% off all food and beverages (before tip) at checkout. That’s a nice little perk to have! The location is unbeatable. Very walkable to high-end shopping, and Ubers literally match and arrive in 1–3 minutes. 100% recommend a short stay here, and I’m definitely coming back for that rooftop pool in the warmer months!

The highlight is the 18th-floor bar — absolutely worth visiting. The fusion food is excellent, and the drink list is impressive: premium/luxury spirits as well as more affordable options. The bartender is great and the service is smooth and attentive. Important tip: if you are a hotel guest, you can usually access the bar without waiting in line (non-guests may face a long queue, especially in cold weather). Reception staff is friendly and efficient — any requests are handled quickly. I stayed in a Deluxe room on the 15th floor: cozy, comfortable, with a very nice bathroom. The “lake view” is limited (only a small glimpse), so keep that in mind if the view is important. One small downside: towels and bathrobes looked worn and could be upgraded. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d return.

The smell they're piping into the lobby isn't my favorite and was kind of off-putting, but it didn't carry onto the other floors or rooms. I would definitely stay again.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful experience. The viceroy is in a great area and there’s so many things to do in Chicago. I will say, although the hotel was beautiful, the cleanliness of it kind of lacked. That was a bit of a bummer. You’re paying nearly $600 a night, I expect spotless rooms. Our room was very nice but there were scuffs on the walls, old lipstick on the desk, and dried stale chips in the couch. Not ideal. I’m usually a germaphobe and would’ve freaked, but my husband called and asked them to clean the room a bit. Other than that, the stay was great.

The Viceroy in Chicago was one of my favorite hotels this year. The staff is beyond friendly and we were made to feel so welcome from check-in and throughout our trip. The rooftop bar has an incredible view of the city and is a great place to grab drinks and lite bites. The bar downstairs in the lobby is great for people watching and is also yummy. You cannot beat the location. Super close to the best shopping and some fun bars and restaurants. I cannot wait to visit Chicago and stay here again.

5 Star experience all around

The check-in process was odd, granted we checked in at 10pm but the attendant asked me the same 3 questions 2x. We also had to call down to get the robes that should have been in our room, the sink in the bathroom was clogged, and each night we had to call for more water because you only get the 2 water bottles on your first day complimentary. Overall our stay was fine but not worth $800+/night

Checked on room availability at 3:30, not ready. Asked for manager, see accountability on their end, no apologies, only blamed their housecleaning crew. Don’t make your staffing problem and inability to turnover the hotel the customers problem. And if you do, be apologetic and make it right. Had an event to get ready for so ended up taking an alternative low floor room, big mistake. Wedding happening 10 feet below our window. Luckily we were gone most of the evening, but when we returned it was nothing but bass and people screaming until 11. They moved inside and the music noise continued until after midnight. Also discovered the gym was immediately below our room. Woke up at 5AM both mornings to a Frankenstein running on the treadmill. Found dirty earplugs on the floor of our room, hardly any towels, nothing to stir the coffee with, and stains in the furniture. For the money, we were very unimpressed. At checkout we called in our valet ticket, waited 25 minutes to go downstairs. Waited another 20 minutes after for our car. 45 minutes in total! Go elsewhere, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Horrible stay.

We were always greeted with hospitality and warmth. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was very centrally located and had an awesome, beautiful rooftop pool and bar. Also, has a lovely curbside restaurant with great food and drinks and an outdoor area. Room was good size and restful.

Fantastic Aria for shopping and dining. The beach is close, too. The only negative I can say is we try to valet our car and there were two cars in front of the hotel and we could not even pull up behind them. We had to drive to the closest parking garage and park and we’ll our luggage to the hotel. Other than that, it was a perfect day!

The room was quite beautiful but there were no robes which would’ve expected. The breakfast was pedestrian nothing special and the server was not good. The front desk staff was excellent. The pool has no umbrellas so it wasn’t possible to use it as it was full sun all day. The outdoor couches on main level were welcome. The restaurant around the corner Maple and Ash.

i had been planning my first solo trip ever to Chicago for almost two years, and for those whole 2 years i knew for a FACT i was staying at the Viceroy. AND THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Staff was soooo friendly and really make you feel right at home. I felt so comfortable here. Also in the most PERFECT area. "Why are you going to Chicago isn't it dangerous" babes i'm staying next to a Prada, try again. I will 10000%be staying at the Viceroy for my future Chicago trips 💕

Unexpected fees after you check out was insane. Amenity fees for lobby ice water is ridiculous I never thought I would be paying for that. Housekeeping was terrible they would knock once then walk right in the room. We couldn’t even walk into the hotel without a family of rats walking across the door is was unsatisfying and I won’t stay there again! The hype was not the hype at all. Valet took 49 mins each time to bring your vehicle.

Friendly staff. Weird doors on the bathroom. Sliding doors tend to be noisy and unwieldy in general and this one was bad. That’s my only complaint.

From check-in to check-out, there were several missed opportunities to deliver the kind of attentive and seamless experience one expects from a Viceroy-branded hotel. Staff interactions felt rushed and impersonal, and requests—whether for basic amenities (a blanket in this case for my son) or assistance especially lack of service at the pool and 18th floor bar—were often delayed or overlooked entirely. Communication between departments seemed disjointed, which added unnecessary friction to what should have been a relaxing stay. It’s disappointing because the hotel clearly has the potential to offer a world-class experience. With more focus on staff training, responsiveness, and guest engagement, it could truly live up to its brand promise. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements. I would love to return in the future and see a noticeable difference.

Upgraded our stay to a room with a tub feature, the first night we tried to use it we had no hot water pressure. Staff had sent a repair man to fix issue and they ended up working on it for 2 hours with no repair. Around 10:45pm he finally called it and said it would need more tools and work to be done before fixing. He cleaned up what he could but our bathroom was left a mess with tub grout and dust all over the floor. We reached out to the staff hoping for some kind of fix or change of rooms but received no kind of help or anything for our troubles. We stayed for 3 nights with no response or repairs done. It was very unfortunate because we were using this hotel as our place of stay for our celebration of our engagement. Most likely won’t be returning

This is a great boutique hotel in a vibrant neighborhood and within walking distance to the Mag Mile, the river walk, the beach, and old town. It’s surrounded by shopping and restaurants and is a very safe area. They have a roof top pool and a roof top lounge, which was very nice and fun and had great views. The only downside is that the valet parking is very expensive compared to other hotels, but it was worth it to me.

We stayed for our anniversary it was wonderful. The room was nice. Convenient location, comfy bed and that shower OMG!!!!

Hotel was great but pool closed at 5 o’clock and it was so hot in the city that we wanted take a swim after dinner. Check in is at 3, pool closes at 5! Made no sense!

Great location. Our room had a perfect view of the city and lake. Excellent service from staff. We also enjoyed the restaurant for morning coffee and light breakfast. We will stay here again.

Great city hotel in a good location. Walkable to restaurants, high end shopping, and beaches. The only negative is that valet parking is outrageously expensive - nearly double other hotels.

overall great hotel , it was some rose petals left under our bed from previous guest. the nozzle for the bathtub to spray had dirt coming out of it. the hotel was very nice with a great view. the do not disturb sign was on the door and a housekeeper walked in the room , the hotel was very nice , smelled very good but could use a little work for the price of the hotel :)

First time staying at the Viceroy and I was impressed! I will look for other Viceroy hotels when I travel! Very clean and accommodating!

I would recommend this hotel. Overall a good experience. Beautiful property, location and restaurant. I stayed Sunday into Monday and found Starbucks located a few blocks away a good choice for coffee in the morning. Early morning coffee should be easy.

Service was great! Front desk and valet staff were amazing. Really convenient to have Somerset right by the lobby and Pandan had the best ube flan I've ever had. The bed was comfortable and the room was beautiful with a great view of the city. There are restaurants, bars and shops all next to the hotel - it was very convenient. We will absolutely be staying here next time we visit Chicago!

I ordered room service and requested a medium-well steak, but it arrived rare. When I called to mention it, I was only thanked for the feedback—no offer to correct the order. I also left a note on the tray explaining the issue, but again, no response. Given the drop in cleanliness, service, and attention to detail, I won’t be returning on future visits. Disappointing experience from a place I once relied on.

I would recommend and stay again.

The Viceroy was one of my favorite stays in Chicago. The staff was amazing. I was near a ton, and food options were plentiful. I plan on booking again the next time I’m in the city

Pros: - Surrounded by lots of restaurants, shops, and attractions, most are within walking distance. - The hotel has a stylish, boutique feel that’s visually appealing. - My room had a beautiful view of the lake, which was especially breathtaking at night. - The bed and pillows were very cozy and made for restful sleep. - Breakfast from Somerset (via in-room dining) was delicious and satisfying. Cons: - Room wasn’t fully stocked with towels and toiletries upon check-in. - There were visible cleanliness concerns like a white substance on the wall, stains on the bathroom outlet, dusty and dirty baseboards. - Chaise and curtains also had stains. - Daily resort fees didn’t seem justified considering the limited amenities, just a small pool and a gym. - Underwhelming lobby with very limited seating for guests.

Great property! My only complaint…the pillows are awful, and they don’t have any other options. I was up until 3am trying to bunch them up enough to equate to 1 normal pillow.
