Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the convenient location, friendly staff, and comfortable beds. However, there are consistent complaints about noise, cleanliness, and lack of certain amenities.
- Convenient location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Noise issues from both inside and outside the hotel
- Cleanliness concerns in some rooms and bathrooms

Beautiful spot for the price!
- 3/5
No buffet breakfast, but counter service that you have to pay for. At this price point, I would hope to have the breakfast included... Also the wifi is so bad you can't even stream any movies or youtube off the tv if you wanted to. I found myself with a rainy night in, and the tv was completely useless.
- 2/5
Rooms were not very clean. Front desk staff was not friendly and was away from the desk a lot. Will not stay here again.

Clean property, friendly staff.

Nice and clean. Helpful staff after a late arrival and long travel day.
- 5/5
Everything was all good.
- 5/5
Clean rooms nice staff and exercise room was clean
- 5/5
It was a nice stay for what I needed for. The shower wasn’t fully clean and did some hair in it. I do wish that the shower was clean better than it was. However, the hotel was quiet and nice.
- 5/5
Convenient location to take care of all of my needs.

Everything
- 2/5
The balcony outside the sliding glass doors was extremely filthy. Cobwebs were evident and the chairs looked very dusty and had not been cleaned in a very long time. The main door had a big opening at the bottom so could hear everything happening in the hallway. Expected for the room to be more soundproof. King bed caved in in the middle.
- 5/5
Convenient stay. Near where I need to be!
- 5/5
easy parking. Friendly staff
- 5/5
I enjoyed my time in this hotel. The front desk staff were nice, the gym was large, and it was quiet! I would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
No safe in rooms or at front desk.
- 3/5
I appreciate the hotel is tucked away, which made it feel a little safer. The parking lot seems small, but there was plenty of spots available daily for us. Staff was friendly, room was spacious. Our bathroom wasn't the cleanest (dried water spots, stains in the bathtub, stains on the wallpaper in the bath and closet, etc). The beds were incredibly uncomfortable...you could feel the springs and thankfully I was alone. Had somebody else been in bed with me, it is the type of mattress you can feel every breath your partner takes, the mattress is so bouncy. I'm surprised a Marriott would have that low of quality mattresses. You can hear the freeway and Sunnybrook road traffic through the windows, so it is rather loud. It worked for our stay, but I likely wouldn't stay again.
- 3/5
Staff was great, but the place needs some serious TLC.
- 2/5
The beds are super hard, our room needed maintenance in the bathroom and plugs and front desk lady was ridiculous!
- 5/5
Convenient location, a bit of traffic noise on the east side.
- 5/5
Room was spacious and the bathroom was large.
- 4/5

The cleaning chemicals are very strong. Location is great. The desk persons i 2 days were bad, nice and really nice. 1☆, 4☆,5☆.

It was a good location since we had plans to stay in eastern Portland next day. Otherwise, not recommended. I booked a room for three guests with breakfast included. To our great surprise, at check in we were told breakfast wasn't included. When I showed the booking with "incl. breakfast" the receptionist said: They'll be able to tell you in the morning if the breakfast is included or not. In the morning the receptionist informed us that the max amount of breakfasts is two even though we had booked a room for three guests. The worst experience ever! Not worth the price.

Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.
- 4/5
Excellent staff and easily accommodated our somewhat chaotic stay of no knowing if we were coming or going. Everyone was so kind to our circumstances and looked out for our basic needs while we navigated a hospital stay. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and we were able to get the best nights sleep possible. Thanks for everything. Family members have already been back to stay again. The price was a tad high as we were there because we needed a place to stay close to the hospital. A larger discount under these circumstances would have been a bigger help to our reason for staying.

The front desk employees were very sweet & kind Around 9 am I’m up getting ready for the day. As I’m walking to the bathroom someone attempts to open my door. There was no knock no one announcing themselves. As a single woman alone in a hotel room this was scary! Come to find out it was housekeeping. But, if the room had been vacant why attempt to enter? The room would have been cleaned the day before. Housekeeping at 9 am is very much odd considering if someone was in the room they would enter and clean after check out. Once I spoke to the front desk and they confirmed it was housekeeping I put the do not disturb sign on the door. Upon leaving someone had taken the sign and slid it back under the door. It was all very unsettling. Thank God I had the slide lock so no one could enter but had I not what would have happened to me, what would have happened to my valuables?

This was a nice facility. However, the room we had was noisy due to some type of equipment that was running constantly. We requested housekeeping daily. The second day of our stay, our towels were changed but the bed was not made.
- 4/5
The room was great itself. But there was this noise like a large fan or motor all night, loud. next to room 103.
- 5/5
Quiet and comfortable room, great location. I appreciate the shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom; so convenient. The fitness center was nice and not crowded while I used it. Could hear the water run whenever the room upstairs flushed or used the facilities.

I came down for breakfast and no chef.I had a gout attack in the middle of night and could barely walk so I called the front desk and asked if I can get some Advil or Tylenol. Front desk mentioned we have medicine for purchase. I had to limp to the market just for them to charge it to my room. Room service would’ve been nice. Morning check in lady was really nice and I loved how they had a clean gym.
- 4/5
Our room was not cleaned We did get more towels on Day3 but no toilet paper or made up beds
- 4/5
Very comfortable, clean room. Disappointed that it only had a shower even though it was a very nice shower. The breakfast would have been good except they ran out of bacon. Location was excellent very near Kaiser. Staff at front desk very professional and helpful.
- 1.5/5
Not a whole lot actually, parking sucked and there wasn’t much for amenities, No soap, no bottle water. I guess I paid for the name. Just about everything, parking sucked, bed sucked, bathroom sucked.

We only stayed one night but overall had a pleasant stay. Check in process was quick and friendly, we were given preference for high floor. The room was clean and comfortable. Improved window insulation would help with freeway noise. Some areas of the hotel are showing wear.

Everything was wonderful, staff was friendly and room was clean. Great food from the restaurant. Thank you.

The room had greasy stains on the wall. Not well kept rooms for $150 per night. Staff was rude and uninformed. I was charged an extra $70 and I got different explanations depending on who I talked with. One woman slamed a door in my face after asking why I was charged extra.

Hotel shows its age. Broken fire door in the corridor. Curtin cannot be closed completely, water pressure is low.

I book the room and the place was a ghost town. About 1/2 way into the first night I think I’m catching a cold. The next day I was away from the room most of the day, get back there and start feeling bad again. I figured out it was the down pillows so I get those exchanged, but I’m still having trouble breathing. The comforter was also full of down. They didn’t ask me when I checked in and when I exchanged the pillows didn’t bother to mention anything about the comforter. It was serious, I was really laboring to breath and they treated it like they treat their ex-bf from 10 years ago.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Everything was as advertised!
- 5/5
Friendly staff! Greeted with a smile and helpful attitude. Room was spacious and nice. Bed was comfortable.

Very comfortable room. Plenty of towels, blanket & pillows supplied. Great customer service & friendly staff. Great location with easy access to shopping, restaurants & Interstate.
- 4/5
Clean room, comfortable beds, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Very pleasant check in experience. Comfortable, clean rooms
- 5/5
Wish there were a real restaurant onsite or free breakfast, not just a little Bistro which is pretty expensive so had to take meals out elsewhere.
- 2/5
Room was not what was shown when booked, smaller than what was expected, taxes not included so the cost was more, no swimming pool even though one was listed as being on property, disappointed for the price paid.
- 3/5
Property needs some love
- 2/5
The room was extremely loud from the road noise. Would of been good to put more soundproofing in when the hotel was constructed, I barely slept the night I stayed there.
- 3/5
the room was ok not very clean
- 1/5
I paid for two nights and the black male guy told me I didn’t and asked me to leave early. Said it might be a mistake and he’d talk to the manager. Never did.
- 4/5
Room was very clean. Lighting was poor. Front desk staff was excellent. Perfect location for a family visit.

The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly and the room was exactly what we needed for a quick stay.
- 3/5
The bathroom in my room was dirty. The coffee was open late. Gym was well equipped.
- 5/5
Professional and requests followed through. Thank you for a good experience.
- 5/5
Great stay always have used this facility many times. Clean and great location near the mall and many good/fine eating places
- 3/5
I will still stay there in November when I come, but wanted you to know this was not the greatest experience, this time. And I do realize it wasn’t your fault. Not sure if this is helpful, but just in case there is anything you can do for room 212 before the next person comes along, I am sharing. See you again soon! PS please don't post this in the reviews section. It is for your info only.
- 3/5
There was no breakfast. The hotel is not what I've expect from a Marriott. It was run down. A hallway door was ducktaped together.
- 5/5
Always clean, staff is always helpful and friendly…. And we love the bistro and food options.
- 5/5
We’ve stayed at this property many times over the years and now that we’ve moved to Texas, it’s our first choice of places to stay when we visit back home
- 5/5
Helpful staff
- 3/5
Parking ample and convenient. Pleasant staff. Clean property. substance access to dining and shopping options.
- 4/5
My only complaint would be is that the lighting in our room was very dim. Women need lights for makeup!
- 2/5
This was the worst bed I have slept on at a Merriott’s. The room furniture did not fit in the room. The couch wooden base was so close to the bed that my husband bumped into it and was injured.
- 5/5
Andrew in the bistro was great!
- 4/5
Felt safe while on premise, easy access, kind personnel
- 5/5
As usual, everything was perfect
- 4/5
An unremarkable stay at a basic business hotel. Parking was plentiful, the rooms were pleasant enough. No real issues, but the property is a little older; the mattress was older and wasn't the most comfortable and the shower could use a refresh to deal with unsightly mildew/mold around the edges.
- 5/5
Quiet and clean
- 5/5
Very nice hotel
- 5/5
Clean room, location, staff are friends and helpful
- 5/5
This Courtyard has pretty much everything you need for a great stay. The manager and staff really put themselves out for us, and let us know where to go for food and dining options as well as how long it would take to get to our various destinations. It has nice seating areas inside and out, and we were made very comfortable when we decided to have a night hanging out in the lounge.

- 5/5
Bed very comfortable.
- 2/5
Not impressed for the price
- 3/5
Shower drain was plugged with hair and crud. We had to clean it.
- 3/5
We were there on a busy weekend, and the hotel was full. It was expensive and they do not offer free breakfast.
- 1/5
All i can say is I checked out earlier than expected because of the condition of my room and this property. The room had been remodeled recently, but it was filthy and so disappointing. I remember the firet time I used the bathroom and seeing dirt piles gathered in the corner. Rven the temodeling job looked half done with poor workmanship. Frankly I was shocked Marriott would allow their brand to be associated with a hotel like this. Do not recommend.
- 2/5
i highly suggest you think twice about staying here; staff is not trained to pay attention to details for customer service. nice people but can’t deliver.
- 3/5
Using the gym ... had to request gym towels. Coffee machined malfunctioned during stay. I highly recommend you stay at another property. The staff needs more training.
- 5/5
Easy access off the highway, nice outside area to relax. Great staff.
- 3/5
Small bathroom, single sink, no bathroom fan, old/low toilet.
- 4/5
I liked the location. My husband is a patient at Kaiser Sunnyside. It was convenient for me. The property was clean although I did think it was a little spendy.
- 4/5
Ok enough for a one night stay
- 4/5
Nice rooms
- 5/5
Nice spacious rooms. Easy on and off freeway access. Shopping nearby. Food nearby.
- 4/5
Overall, the hotel was fine, but I expect more from a Marriott, so I was disappointed in the service. Housekeeping was only every other day, which is usual now, but because of the Labor Day holiday, housekeeping ended up coming only once during our 6 night-stay. We brought down our own dirty linens, and the front desk worker gave us a hodgepodge of replacements that we had to make do with. Breakfast was only a few things made by the busy Starbucks worker. And the Starbucks coffee bar was closed by 11 a.m. The gym was well-equipped, and the room was quiet and clean.
- 2/5
Poor rating because there were guests load and obnoxious until like 2am. Kept my wife and kids awake.
- 4/5
My family and I stayed there for a funeral. It was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had a bistro with breakfast options and coffee. It was also very close to restaurants and target. I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The hotel is nice. There is no continental breakfast, the breakfast you have to buy is mediocre at best and over priced. The drinks at the bar were weak and expensive also. The elevator sounded like it was a slaughter house to stop. The duck tapped door on the 3rd floor was ghetto at best. We travel at least twice a month and it won't be a do over, especially because it's expensive for what you get.
- 5/5
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Would recommend!
- 5/5
Nice property
- 5/5
Close to freeway, convenient location. Front desk person was extremely friendly and helpful. Hallways were quiet, liked that there was a mirror and sink outside or the actual bathroom
- 3/5
Last couple times we stayed there, There's been maintenance items in two different rooms, for the price and name of Marriott.... There should be probably a little better maintenance in this property
- 4/5
Staff very good and friendly
- 3/5
Check-in was excellent location was excellent. But I had a broken toilet paper holder and it bugged me and I told the front desk and they came in and they put it back together, but it was broken. It needs to be repaired or replaced so it broke every time it was used, which just makes you feel like you're in a hotel that doesn't care. Otherwise, everything was great comfortable bed and on the first floor it's a little bit loud
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and efficient. The layout of the room is a little awkward. There's only a small sink/vanity area and a very low 2-drawer dresser on rollers. The room was clean. The breakfast area was fine. We showed up about 10 minutes past closing time and still got served.
- 4/5
No free coffee or breakfast. For the price of this hotel that is unacceptable.
- 4/5
It was quiet and simple really no frills…it just worked.
- 4/5
It was fine. Cleaning staff on Saturday morning very nice and efficient.
- 5/5
Very quiet, super clean, friendly staff, delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup at the restaurant and the gym is very complete!
- 5/5
Not terribly picturesque, but great location, great food, nice and clean, friendly staff
- 5/5

- 4/5
Loved the staff.
- 5/5
Just a nice place to stay the night
- 5/5
Great showers and nice couch. Very well appointed and thought out rooms. Great work
- 4/5
Nice location staff was very kind and friendly.
- 5/5
Nice stay near the airport
- 5/5
Good location
- 4/5
Very professional and caring front desk people! Will stay again!
- 3/5
The next morning we had breakfast at Hops n Drops for less money and twice the amount of food.
- 1/5
I can't believe this is a Marriott managed hotel. It's terrible. The cleanliness is extremely poor, from the lobby, elevator, to our room. It's horrible. The cleanliness is not even as good as a motel. Very bad experience
- 4/5
Nice hotel set in a medical district and close to several restaurants. One side of the hotel faces the highway so I switched the room. Hotel was quiet and comfortable. The staff is nice and helpful.
- 5/5
My only complaint would be that decor is outdated. The wonderful staff deserve to have a quality work environment to match their level of excellence.
- 5/5
It was awesome
- 3/5
I bought Coffee and it was iced cold.
- 5/5
Enjoy the property and employees are very friendly.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff
- 5/5
The maid service was excellent and accommodating. It would be nice if there was a Jacuzzi :)
- 5/5
Great location! Easy to walk and drive to many dining options. Hotel staff was terrific. The dining in the evening was the best. Limited menu, but excellent, good quality and plentiful size. Thank you to Andrew and Chelsea!
- 3/5
It's winter and cold outside so you need the heat on. It was the noisiest heater I've ever heard. We didnt sleep well. I tried 3 times to ignore your review request, so now you have it. We wished we had stayed home, saved the money.
- 5/5
Very nice and the cook/bartender was super nice guy
- 4/5
The room was nice but did have some maintenance issues. The shower door needed adjusted so it was a little difficult to use. The security door stop was loose. There was also some wallpaper peeling by the shower. Overall the room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. The interior of the hotel needs to have some maintenance addressed. The staff was friendly though. Reasonably priced and close to dining and shopping with easy access to the freeway.
- 5/5
Clean and beautiful with Outstanding customer service.
- 5/5
Top notch fitness area!

Only down-side was that I booked this hotel specifically since Trivago.com said it had an indoor pool, which was remodeled out 5 years ago.

Will definitely stay here again!! Many outlets, kind staff, soft bed, perfect!
- 5/5
Overall great place to stay, only issue is parking it limited.
- 4/5
Good experience. Bed springs were worn and there was a definite hill in the middle with the left and right softer than the middle. Highway noise tolerable.

Terrific staff ty

Surprisingly quiet for being so close to I-205. Very nice, modern design. Awesome shower!! And one if the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on.

The front desk ladies were kind and accommodating. The hotel is dirty and falling apart.
- 3/5
We felt the room felt dark- we were on the first floor and felt with the proximity to the front of the property we need to keep the curtains mostly closed!!
- 5/5
Stay was what I expected. Mini fridge in room made a strange noise throughout our stay. Could have called and had it replaced but didn't want to deal with it. Otherwise all good.
- 5/5
Was a great stay.
- 5/5
On a business trip, clean, convenient and a friendly staff. Perfect fit for that trip.
- 5/5
They made me feel very comfortable!!
- 3/5
Dated and just adequate
- 4/5
Convenient area and rooms are nicely remodeled.
- 4/5
Super nice staff. Rooms are renovated and clean.
- 3/5
This is the second time I've stayed here and both rooms have absolutely reeked of mold/mildew. I thought maybe it was a fluke the first time. The windows barely open but I ended up keeping the window open most of the time just to try to air the room out. Otherwise, staff is consistently friendly and there's a nice, large gym
- 5/5
The property was amazing as always. However, during the four days of staying there was a group of maintainers that kept knocking on doors to enter the rooms. We were told that they were not supposed to be entering rooms that were occupied. However, Even after telling the staff this continued for two days. That’s concerning for privacy reasons. Myself and another made the same complaint around the same time second morning.
- 5/5
It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Was close to where I needed to be. Was conveniently located right off of the highway. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Great place to stay it was convenient for where we needed to be
- 3/5
We were disappointed that at this price our room wasn’t refreshed each day. We had to ask for more towels because we had to mop up the floor on the “foll in” shower. The shower curtain is too short
