Gulfview Hotel on the Beach

The internet didn't work that great. The TV wouldn't stay connected at night so we couldn't watch TV. I was expecting loungers on the beach but they don't have any. The location is great! I loved waking up to the gulf views.

Elevator was broken, had to climb 3 flights of stairs with luggage, the hotel next door has live music that goes on until 2:30 am so good luck sleeping. The AC wouldn’t stay on. I will not stay there again.

The room was clean but we were on the 5th floor and the one elevator they have on property was broken ALL weekend. When we asked the staff, they replied with "I dont know how long it will be out." I would suggest requesting a room on the first floor.

Room was clean but the kitchenette didn’t look like the pictures at all and was a bit rusty and outdated.

The hotels is a small charming property thats perfect for a beach trip. If your looking for luxury go futher down the strip. If you want a affordable pretty clean but older hotel with ots own beach that has a mini kitchen that you can cook meals in then this is your place.

However, the overall upkeep of the property could use improvement. The bed sheets had noticeable stains, and the bathroom did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. Some areas of the room also showed signs of wear and could benefit from better maintenance and attention to detail. With improved housekeeping and property upkeep, this hotel could provide a much better guest experience.

Our room was exceptionally clean, had an excellent view of the beach from the balcony. The staff were friendly. The pool & hot tub was relaxing! The beach was private, just needed lounge chairs on the beach. But we were pleased with our stay.

The room smell was horrible, our rooms were never attended to in our 4 day stay, had to use the same towels the entire long weekend, the air conditioner didn’t really work, there is a step going into the room that wasn't mentioned that almost killed us, no full size mirror only one on the bathroom, water didn’t turn off in shower, basically dropped the entire 4 day, room was extremely damp..just don’t..10/10 would not recommend

The hotel staff was nice and professional. It was near all of the main tourist sites and shops. It has it's own private beach. It was a bit older property but was well taken care of and clean. Great value for the money.

I stayed at gulfview for a 4 day getaway. From the front desk personnel to the cleanliness of the room and the access to the beach it was great. Everyone, staff and other patrons were friendly and you could actually have a conversation. It was very laid back and relaxing which I needed. If you like higher end hotels to lay your head for a few nights this may not be for you. I had read the reviews which stated the hotel next door had music which they would play till the early morning was loud. Well of course you have live music it will be loud. On that note when in your room with a/c running the music noise was very minimal. I would stay again. Everything was within walking distance. Due to the beach sand of course they may want to provide brooms in the rooms. Thank you Joyce for your hospitality during my stay.

The staff were great. Literally so friendly & helpful & just all around wonderful people. I didn’t like that my view was of a car park and not the beach, and my balcony door didn’t lock. I also didn’t like that the curtains had mildew on them but then again, it’s a beach hotel and it stays moist.

Private beach Load music from other hotels could use updating for the price. Kinda musty smell. Carpet could used clean or replaced with different style of flooring.

We came in from Texas to attend our nieces destination wedding next door at Shephard's resort so this hotel was perfect within our budget, within walking distance (literally), and liked that we got to enjoy the live music from the resort as well. Diana, Princesa, housekeeping, and the manager Debbie were very kind, accommodating, and helpful. They showed wonderful hospitality. The showers outside after the beach, the heated pool and hot tub were great well maintained. I really like they have several security cameras as we did have an encounter with another guest regarding parking. The hotel may need few repairs which is expected as it's older such as, there were a few cracks in ceiling of the room i.e. and had a bit of a musty smell upon entering the room initially, which may just be the ac unit producing it, however it cooled perfectly and smell went away when we set temperature at 69 and under which was comfortable. The online photos show a telephone in the room and alarm, but when I asked I was told telephones are being eliminated and the alarm worked, but made a loud noise (may be that's why it was unplugged). I asked for one to have as extra alarm and was told it would be replaced by maintenance/someone else when we had housekeeping service, but it didn't. It's okay though no negative impact. I would definitely come back and stay here!

It was amazing we got there a little early they went ahead and accommodated us and gave us a room right away we are elderly ladies and we've got to go sit by the pool and relax before one of our friends that was having a birthday event with the pirate ship we got to relax and it was perfect perfect evening perfect day

I was on the 3rd floor on the north side. I loved the view of the ocean and sunset. I could sit on my balcony and listen to the music at Shepherds at night. I’ll definitely go back.

We absolutely love Gulfview Hotel! We have probably stayed there on 10 different occasions. The manager, Joyce, and the full staff are wonderful. Clean rooms, walk right out to the pool and ocean without even leaving the property. Highly recommended

The location was perfect. The clothes washing faculties. It’s very tired and run down, the pool is small and they didn’t provide sunbeds for the beach. There wasn’t a bar either which would have been good.

We enjoyed a beautiful waterfront view. The private beach was small but clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The biggest downside was the extremely small parking lot. My husband let me out or in the car before or after pulling in or out because our 2-door car was tight. We always found a spot but that was treacherous.

the hotel was good but it smelled like mildew and everything that touched the floor smelled and went home with me. my hair even smelled from sleeping on a mildew pillow and our feet got dirty from walking on the dirty carpets dont let the bleach smell fool you

Only in town for one night and decided on Clearwater instead of Tampa. Easy experience checking in rooms, clean and nice exposure to the water and sunset. Would stay there again.

It's an older and smaller hotel, but it's exactly what I like. It still has a pool and private beach. The rooms are clean and the balconies are on the side of the building with nice views of the ocean. No complaints! It's my new favorite hotel in Clearwater Beach!

We love this little hotel it’s our second time here it’s nice and clean helpful staff our room was facing the garage which we didn’t like it has a private beach entrance for the guest at this hotel bed was comfortable pillows were okay but could be better we felt very safe at this hotel

This hotel is in a great location with a private beach. The pool area is well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. Close to a lot of activities. The only real drawback is Shepherd’s Resort next door with their nightclub that goes until 2 AM in the morning on Friday and Saturday nights.

So convenient. We didn’t even have to go to the main beach because we were too comfortable at the hotel. The little bay is so relaxing. This was our 3rd time here. Good location. We were able to walk at night and go to stores and restaurants nearby

This is a nice hotel right on the gulf. They have a pool and their own private beach. You just need your own chairs but for the price I would absolutely go back. Another plus is you don't have to pay for parking lile most hotels in Clearwater beach.

I was unhappy that the deadbolt would not engage the door frame & the door was too low to put a wedge alarm under the door. We brought it up to the manager he brushed it off. The electrical outlet/ light switch in bath was loose & ceiling was peeling.

Was sore from walking the hot tub felt great. Spent time in the pool and the lounge chairs were good for sunning. Nice quiet private beach area to enjoy the ocean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The reasons why we returned to this hotel.

Had 1st floor room near pool. Balcony did not have the best view of the gulf. Mostly the parking lot. Nice pool area with hot tub. Really nice deck with views of the water. Good selection of walkable restaurants nearby. Liquor store and market across the street. Safe area to walk even at night. Hotel next door has lot of music thumping late into the night. Awesome views of the sunsets. Will probably stay here again.

Hotel is in a great location if you don’t mind the loud music in the evenings next-door. The hot tub pool area is small but nice. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The bathroom needed some work. There was a slight mildew smell, and I feel like some minor renovations could really upgrade the rooms. It had all the basics though and we were in our room much. I would definitely stay here again and request a room on the other side of the hotel. If you’re looking for an affordable stay with a laid-back vibe and friendly staff this is a decent option.

However we rarely got any sleep because the hotel next door has parties until 1:30-2am with loud music that feels like you are right next to the speakers. I would never stay here again especially on a weekend and especially with kids. This was a really tough 3 nights for us and put a damper on everything because of it. Had we have known we wouldn’t have stayed here

If you choose a room with ocean views be aware you are going to hear the very loud music from the hotel next door Thurs-Sat night. Also the pictures make it seem like there may be options for rental chairs on the beach, but there are not. For the price and location right on the beach it works well if you don’t need a ton of amenities.

The staff is very personable and consistsnt. It's not the Four Season so if you are lookong fir luxury or bells and whistles this ain't it.

Location was amazing, across from the market and an amazing gelato/coffee place. Private beach was the highlight of the property. Pool/hot tub was very clean. The staff were all very friendly. They helped me with a personal problem on two separate occasions. Everything was pretty old, the smell of the hotel was not pleasant. We fixed that with candles and air fresheners.

The ocean was not visible from my room but the hotel had a private area directly on the beach. The entire place was very clean. The staff was very friendly. They always had fresh coffee, room and pool towels available. We had an enjoyable time in the pool and hot tub and was in walking distance to many great restaurants.

The floor in the room was very dirty. Our stay was 2 nights, housekeeping didn’t clean the room, give us clean towels or make the beds. The pool was supposed to be heated but wasn’t and the hot tub was too hot to even enter. It’s a low budget beach front hotel. The location is good but the hotel is extremely outdated and need of repairs.

Per Travelocity, chairs and umbrellas were part of hotel amenities. When we got there we were told it was a lie. They are not part of amenities and you would have to rent them.

It's a mile to pier 60, easy walk. The hotel has it's private beach. We saw dolphins while sitting at the beach. The pool area is nice. The hotel is clean It's dated.

There are no beach chairs. We had to clean our own room and go to the front desk for towels every day. No broom provided to sweep sand on the floor. Cannot recommend.

I really didn’t have much of a problem except for one tiny issue which wasn’t the end of the world. The fan in the bathroom was very loud and annoying. Building was old, but clean. Sink in the kitchenette needs attention. It smelled bad. Loud music from the hotel next door kept us awake making it hard to sleep until after midnight.

The Gulfview Hotel on the beach was a nice hotel. The staff was excellent and the grounds were beautiful. The only thing that stopped me from giving an "excellent" review was the mold that was around the bathtub faucet and drain. Otherwise, the hotel was in a great location and a was a good value. The next door hotel had nightly entertainment and restaurants that were accessible to those stating at Gulfview.

It would be nice to have my room cleaned daily I clean my toilet every day at home so I feel like I’m not getting anything any service if you only get maid service if you schedule me after 4 days

Non gulf view was in basement looked at a parking garage. Room was so filthy. Never again. Its a shame because pool is nice. Smaller than i thought though. Rooms need a redo.

The young lady at the front desk for evening shift was very kind and helpful, the room is a little older style but it was great for me, the balcony was good able to listen to the live music from Shepards from my room. Also the private beach was nice along with being able to go over to Shepards and sit at the bar over there. The location was good walking distance to everything. I will definitely stay here again. Great place for the price!

Was nice to hang on the porch or balcony and have a drink without having to hang out in a crowd. Would definitely go back. A lot of people we talked to at the pool come back and stay for weeks.

This is a very old property. There's a lack of outlets in the room. The shower drain was super corroded. Parking was decent. The door from the hotel to the outside didn't lock. The desk girl was super nice, but the place itself is not a nice hotel, I would call it a dump. I found out from my teenagers that the five star reviews are probably paid for. Definitely more of a 2 star joint

The hotel was very clean and the staff was awesome. It is very close to attractions & the trolley & bus lines. Lots of food places to choose from by walking. Only issue was the noise of the a/c unit in the room. And next door is a beach bar which was nice. Next door they do have live music till midnight, so if you want a quiet place, this will not do for you.

The hotel is ok. A little old but fulfills everything you need. The reception staff was friendly, it has its own very nice private beach. The only problem was that they stole our flip-flops inside the pool area, we left them for 10 minutes and they disappeared. We suspect it was someone from the maintenance staff but we will never know.

We cancelled our reservation after the first night. The hotel smelled very musty and our room smelled as well.

Rooms are ok. A little stuffy. Broken elevator. Location is pretty nice. Water out back is great. No chairs or rooms that look stright out the water.

We upgraded for oceanview for $40 usd more. Hot tub was nice and location fabulous.

Great deal for the location. Yes its an older hotel and definitely could use some upgrades but I'm not visiting the beach to just hang out in the room so that didn't bother me. Pool and hot tub were working great. Beach access is awesome and using the bar next door was perfect for quick drinks. Staff was super nice and hospitable. Wish i had gotten the young lady's name at front desk, she was very friendly and made sure to come outside twice to crank the hot tub temp for us, greatly appreciated. We will be back.

Room was just “ok” at best. Bathroom sink was clogged. Some chips on the floor next to balcony. TV never connected to a streaming service. Great area though.

Would give this place a good review with the smell and dampness and mustiness of this hotel. If you have any allergies or breathing then problems stay away! This ruined our trip. I’m a single mom. Our flight got cancelled and we were forced to stay an extra 2 days in Florida. My son and I ended up sleeping in our car. Thank you sir! I hope your money makes you sleep happy and good at night instead of your good deeds in the world.

Yes everything was great front desk employees help me out with a few different things. Maid was very helpful to me I was very sick while I was there found out about where hospital was from front desk woman. Too cold outside to be able to use pool

They named their luggage carts and ice machine! It was so cute! Rooms were outdated but clean and the hot tub pool and staff were amazing!

The first room we went to was not a partial beach view and the room smelled very musty and was very dated. That was on the second floor and when we got off the elevator all we could smell was marijuana! Went to desk asked to move to the other side of the hotel and they accommodated us for an upcharge. The room was much better. The huge issue is that the resort, right next door, has an outdoor stage that has live entertainment which plays the music very loudly and the first night went until midnight, and the next night, which was a Friday night, went past 1:00am!! It is impossible to not hear the music!

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The room and facility are clean, the staff is very friendly and the pool and beach area is very nice. My only complaints are the bathroom fan is falling off the wall and useless. Likewise, the fire alarm in the room is also falling off the wall

We stayed in room 452 which was listed as a partial ocean view.. it was almost full ocean view from the balcony; just beautiful. Not a complaint (we enjoyed it) but the room does also overlook the entertainment stage of Shepherd's Beach Resort next door. It was not overly loud and knocked off at about 8pm. The hot tub was wonderful and pool is heated. Staff are very friendly. Make sure you catch the names on the luggage carts...gave us a good laugh.

Great location but I probably won’t stay there again because the mattress was extremely lumpy and the room was very dark, not enough lighting or outlets.

It was sufficient very cute. There was no fee for parking and had a pool on a beach so I was satisfied with it. It wasn’t the top hotel but you pay for the hotel. It was nice and I would stay again.

The towels for the beach are very thin and old. The hot tub is not hot enough and the pool is not heated well on cooler days. There are no beachfront lounge chairs down front on the beach - only in the pool area. The inside smells stale and musty. The live bands two doors down play until midnight. Not many updates have been done. If you just need a cheap room for a night or two, it is okay but I would not recommend staying longer

Inside of hotel was freshly painted, but could have done a better job of it. Paint on mouldings. Ongoing work being done in room across from us. Could hear people in halls and next room. Cigarette butt on balcony! No plug for bathtub to take a bath, just shower. Had to go to front desk to acquire a plunger after failure when called no answer. Staff was exceptional though.

On our Anniversary trip our first stop was at the Gulfview Hotel. We got there a little late, but the man at the front desk was personable and made check-in easy. The building is older but our room was nice; they are renovating after some Hurricane damage. If you're expecting a 5 star resort, this isn't it, but it's everything you need for a short stay. The beds and bedding were clean and comfortable, the hot tub was fabulous at the end of the day and my husband really enjoyed the pool. There are hotels on either side and you can enjoy their live music from the pool/beach area, but once in our room it was quiet and we couldn't hear the music. The beach access was right behind the hotel and although the area is small, it was clean and well maintained. You aren't allowed to take hotel furniture onto the sand, but the pool deck is lovely and is right on the beach. You're welcome to bring your own beach chairs and they provide beach towels. Across the street is a small grocery store where you can pick up anything you need from groceries to coolers. There are also a couple of tourist type shops next door in case you want to pick up t-shirts, hats or souvenirs. There isn't daily maid service at the hotel, but the staff were very receptive if there was anything we needed. I would definitely recommend the Gulfview for your next stay and wish our schedule would have allowed us to stay longer!

Where to begin, room had the worst bed. WORST! No chairs or umbrellas for guests at Gulfview. They are doing construction so ALL day that is all we heard. The room doesn’t get room service, the toilet lid had pubic hair all over it, the bathroom fan did nothing to stop the condensation BUT was so loud. I could go on but this is depressing enough. I have many pix to show everything I’m mentioning. Spend a few more $$$ and you will be much happier!!!

Very, very noisy room. The ice machine was right outside the door and used 24/7. Laundry room was right there too. The hotel did not have any beach chairs, so you had to rent them. No visible vending machines. I would not recommend it or stay there again.

Bathrooms were being renovated whilst we were there so some dust. Lift was out of order and we were on the 4th floor but we managed. Reception staff were great. Great pool area and access to beach but would have liked some sunbeds on beach

This was my second time there I was celebrating my mom first anniversary in heaven me and my sister the front desk receptionist is really nice and the place is really clean and the pool and hot tub is clean and the room are clean and the beds are comfortable and the coffee is good I love it there and the beach is the best you don't want to miss anything you'll love it here I'll be back for sure 😊

We booked 2 nights at this hotel based on previous reviews; After staying there I will say most were spot on. For the price you can’t beat it. It’s directly on the beach, you walk out the back and you’re feet from the water. Parking was free and easy. You can most definitely enjoy the concert going on at the neighboring hotel, as it’s very loud, but we enjoyed it. The rooms were clean, yet dated and needed some minor repairs. Our TV didn’t work. The staff was very friendly, and helpful with questions. I’d stay here again!

My sister and I stayed the weekend for my birthday. I would definitely stay again. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The private beach , pool, hot tub and deck were great. Our room was nice and clean. We had a lovely ocean view both from a picture window and a balcony. The kitchenette was perfect and was stocked with all that you would need. And with all of this, the price was right! He only thing I have a slight complaint about is that our air conditioner was spitting out black pieces of something onto my bed that was right next to it. The air conditioner may need cleaned. But that was the only tiny problem. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely book here again!!

Nice hotel

This was a quiet little hotel between 2 larger hotels. It was great because it was quiet and the beach and pool were not over crowded but you could just walk next door to listen to live music and have drinks but come back to quiet when you wanted to!

My grandson found a pill of some sort on the floor and I was able to catch him as he was ready to put in his mouth. That could have ended up such a critical issue. Other than that the staff was friendly. Hot tub had several small children in it that is dangerous for their health.

The partial ocean view room was better than oceanfront. Only bad thing: a loud band is playing in the next hotel, on weekends till 3am.

The room was not clean when we arrived. I took pictures of the areas that were dirty. I have been traveling for years and have never taken pics but it was needed. Also if you don’t want to look at a parking garage I’d suggest you pay extra for the ocean view. We made the mistake of going the cheaper route.

We stayed for a family vacation. First time at Clearwater. The beach, pool and whirlpool were really nice. The room and the building were ok. We chose this place based on location and price and we got what we expected. It was a great first place to stay and our toddlers enjoyed themselves.

The room was nice,needed a couple things fixed. Toilet seat was very loose,which I tightened,bathroom door knob is loose. AC filter was dirty,I cleaned. Room was clean,bedding clean,balcony view was great,pool was wonderful,hot tub also great,clean. Beach was good. Only COMPLAINT, music from Shepard is terrible! I know you have no control but they should quit earlier. Says midnight but played way later than that. I heard others complaining about the music. Had a wonderful week and would come again and tell friends to come there. Thank you

The location is excellent—within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and Pier 60. The sunsets were absolutely stunning, and we loved the pool area with access to a private beach. However, I do wish the hotel provided beach chairs and umbrellas for guests as nearby hotels do. Also, the pool water wasn’t very clear and appeared to need some maintenance. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

The property from the moment of entering the lobby "smelled terribly"! The hallways, the room, they stunk something awful! The wall a/c units were so noisy and then they had someone cutting with a electric saw in the next room over early in the a.m. They have pictures of the outside that aren't of their true area, it includes some of the resort next door. Their area was very very small and the pool was smaller than most residential pools! Totally will not ever stay there again and wish I had my money back. What a true waste.

This is a reasonable hotel. Room clean it’s just old. Could use a sprucing up. It is right on the water and walkable to many dining establishments.

All of the staff were wonderful. The location was unbeatable! The pool, private beach and walking distance to Pier 60 and lots of other things made me want to stay. The beds and towels were clean, but I would bring Clorox wipes for the surfaces. The floors were not vacuumed in our room and the bathroom was not swept and mopped. It did look like there was new carpeting in the halls and stairwells. Even though I prefer a cleaner space, I would stay there again since I always bring Clorox wipes anyway 😁

Beautiful gulf front property. The rooms have a fully stocked kitchenette with refridgerator, stovetop and microwave. Less amenities than its neighbors (no bar, restaurants) and you have to bring your own chair if you want to sit in the beach. However, there are plenty of chaise lounges in the pool area to relax in the sun while viewing the water. I believe this is what makes it so much more affordable than other hotels in the area. I will definitely be going back.

This property is dated. The hotel next door, Shepherds, has nightly music until 1am. You can hear the music even with the AC on until 1 am. Could smell pot walking through hotel as well. I would never stay here again.

We arrived and the staff members were not very helpful, we did not get the room we had asked for prior to flying. There was no much to do, and satff wasn't familiar with the area. The hotel was clean but very very old.

Beach access connects to properties next to it that have tiki bars and live entertainment/DJs as well as a short walk to the end twds Gulf for the sunset! There’s a gas station, grocery and liquor store across the street… and a nice restaurant you can get B, L & D. Super location - would definitely stay again!

The staff disrespects to the customer. When I asked him (the front desk staff) nicely to provide me the beach towels, he pointed to the little paper on counter and told me to read it and without explanation. It was unprofessional. If you want customers come back and stay at your hotel, you have to train well your staffs. I was disappointing to book this hotel.

The bathroom had mildew, the elevator looked like it had mold. The one and only elevator was so small you had to finagle the luggage carrier to get it in. We were there one hour and checked out ….. if you just need a place to sleep but don't plan on being inside much then this place is good. the beach is nice but they don't keep up with it, garbage and bottles all over. the hotel needs major updating and it smells really bad like mold, not only the rooms but the hallways too. there is only one elevator and its slow and dirty all the time. one morning our bathroom had water all over the floor and our toilet wasn't even flooded and the maintenance guy made a comment and said we moved the toilet. i am not sure why we would want to move that old dirty toilet. i think there is a major leak between the walls because i had a charger plugged in by the wall next to the bed and my charger for some reason was all wet as well and it messed up my phone for a whole day. i couldn't charge it i kept getting a message saying there was water detected in it. the stove and fridge were very dirty, hair in the bath tub, towels had stains. we stood 3 nights and 2 nights we tried getting in the hot tub at night and the same group of adults who were drinking all night took over the hot tub and their kids took over the pool. i went out there 3 hours later hoping my husband and i could get in the hot tub and they were still there being loud and drinking, so much for us getting in the hot tub. location of hotel is good, prices are decent, we paid extra to stay a few more hours due to our flight leaving at night and over all the staff is very nice but that is all.
