Shephard's Beach Resort

Good location, clean pool and outdoor bar area. Servers, housekeeping and valets were all very nice and welcoming. Didn’t care for the small beach that doesn’t connect to the main beaches moving northwards, I didn’t realize that. Free water and beach towels were a nice amenity. Hated wearing the cheap red wristband the whole time- maybe consider a removable option. Didn’t care for- the loud bass music from the nightclub until 2 am- while we were aware we may hear music playing - it was the overboard bass thumping that kept all from sleeping- the floor literally vibrated- and we were on a high floor. Fortunately only happened on Friday night.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Will deff be back. The beach was perfect! My son also loved the pool. The view from our room was beautiful and our room was very clean.

Unbelievable!! Gorgeous resort with beach, floats, pool, free gym, rental cabans, chairs/umbrellas, paddleboards, kayaks, and jet skis. All the staff were parrticulary friendly. Restaurant was great. Great place for both couples and families. Only drawback is if your room is in the Sand tower, you'll be able to hear the live music until midnight. Otherwise, a wonderful trip

Shepard’s Beach Resort was the perfect place to stay in Clearwater! Step right out onto the beach, enjoy live music at night, and take advantage of the many amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful, valet parking was reasonably priced, and the rooms were so quiet we didn’t even realize a storm had passed through overnight. Plenty of nearby restaurants, reasonably priced beach drinks, and spacious showers made for a fantastic stay. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This resort is incredible. The drinks are strong, the food is delicious. The property is clean and the staff is very friendly. All of our wait staff was nice and attentive. Shoutout Sara at the pool for tolerating us. Biggest shoutout to Tina at the front desk. She was so nice, was able to upgrade my room and even let us check in early! Thanks for a great stay

This was our first chat and we were super amazed. Everything you will need is available in the property. The check-in was the start of a positive start. Kai was the one who checked us i a d she was so amazing. The rooms were super clean! And staff are all over constantly cleaning. We had breakfast at the restaurant. We had drinks all over the place. We spent our day at the beach located in the hotel and had our meals served at our beach chairs! The prices were amazing. You won't regret spending time in the place. Only issue is tey not to get a room above the night club, the music is deafening but of you like that its ok.

The only thing, thier restaurants did not have great gluten free options, and they dont allow outside food by the pool etc, so we had to do take out and eat in the room. But other than that- it was perfect.

Great place to relax with a lot of fun activities

Check in was easy, the staff is very friendly, the Valet parking is helpful and free with a stay at the resort, the beach section was smaller than expected and beach chairs have to be rented, theres not much space to lay out a towel. The bar was nice and quick even when they were busy, the music by the bar is on until 1am and can still be heard in the room with the door shut, we didnt mind but it can be overwhelming, we wouldn't say this is the most kid-friendly hotel. Overall we love Shepards, good night life, drinks, and beach access!

I enjoyed staying here. Everything is beautiful. A lot to do. I would love to hear some Latin music.

It took awhile to get a server to come to our table but once they did it was good food and drinks.

Repeatedly ask and begged daytime front desk, manager to have room trash taken out and beds made. Me and three children went two days without towels when towels arrived. They were thrown onto an unmade bed inside of a trash bag. Complementary breakfast was offered as compensation then taken back and charged to my credit card called hotel spoke to manager Sergio, who promised in front of other staff, a complementary breakfast for the hardships and card and still charged my credit card the way I was spoken to was demeaning and disrespectful to me and my three children. Other staff was very nice though I could never go back again due to the way we were treated by Sergio, the front desk manager at Shepherds resort

Nice resort in a great area. Easy to walk to restaurants and to the public beach. The only downside is you must rent chairs on the beach at the resort.

we were on floor 2. Our view was obstructed by palm tree. So i did not mind. But the music is loud and during friday, Saturday night loud until 2am. Not kidding from stage. Sunday was until 12midnight. Music was good. and it was great to have so much live so close. But bring ear plugs if you go to bed early!

You have to want to party until late at night. Music is too loud. Could not go to sleep until about 1 AM

From our room on the third floor above the Night Club, the base reverberated so loud and deep that my water bottle literally vibrated off the nightstand. The glasses and dishes in the cabinet all clanged against each other. We voiced concern two nights in a row with no results. In fact the manager wouldn't talk to us, and the night club stayed open till 2.33am verses the stated 2pm closing on Friday. Resort finally changed our room to another building for Sunday night. Key issue is that they should of told us that even on the 3rd floor above the night club it would be unbearably loud. but we were not given that info to make a decision to either deal with it or book elsewhere. Overall the resort was nice. But ONLY stay in their main building, do not stay in the ancillary building where the night club is located.

The room was clean. The shower wall leaks out onto the floor. The Night Club, Cove was closed at time and so was the convenient store. Disappointed as the pool wasn't heated. We couldn't have cups to keep our drinks cold and we couldn't play a friendly football game with other guest but next day kids could play football/volleyball. Drinks were very expensive. Bottle water wasn't always FREE. Disappointed that we had to buy a chair on the beach and that wasn't part of the resort. It would have been nice if the resort provided a shuttle for downtown. Very disappointed in the stay for what we got back while staying here.

BE VERY AWARE of live entertainment noise level, especially late at night. We were unable to get to sleep until midnight every night, due to the noise level, even with quality ear plugs. The facility is wonderful. The pool area restrictions are a bit stringent. I like having ice water with lemon when I am baking in the sun and you are not allowed to have a water bottle. Sadly, unless I was there to party, I would not stay at this property again.

Pool did not have heat turned on so it was very cold.

Our room had a view of the pool. Room was fine. But, if you are not willing to hear loud music until 1a.m. , this hotel is not for you.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. I really enjoyed watching the dolphins from our balcony every day. The beach area was nice but one thing I wasn't aware of is you have to pay to rent chairs and a umbrella if you want to use them. Also the live music was always good but they do play until midnight (or at least they did during our stay) so if you don't want the noise you will want to stay in the part of the hotel that isn't facing the outside stage.

The entire outside property is hosed off daily in the mornings and they keep the pool scrubbed clean each day. The poolside attendants were friendly and attentive while bringing food and drinks around and picking up empty glasses and discarded items. The Cove restaurant was excellent with great options and a friendly wait staff. The Oasis was great to pick up a cup of coffee and a muffin or breakfast sandwich. The rooms were nice with a mini fridge and microwave and the balconies are wonderful to sit and enjoy the cool gulf breeze.

The place was a lot of fun. They kept it very clean. Entertainment everyday and a view to die for. We saw so many dolphins which was magical

Rooms were lovely and staff was great. However sound from the live music until after 2am every night is unacceptable for anyone looking to get a good night's sleep. The walls literally shake. Will not stay here again.

We booked this hotel for a family trip expecting a comfortable place to rest. Instead, we were placed directly above a nightclub that blasted music until 3:00 AM. The bass was so loud it literally vibrated through the floor. Traveling with two kids, sleep wasn’t just difficult — it was impossible. Unfortunately, the noise didn’t stop there. The refrigerator in the room sounded like it was about to rattle itself apart. Every time the motor kicked on, the entire room shook. The air conditioner was just as bad — it genuinely sounded like a plane taking off each time it started. Between the club, the fridge, and the AC, we barely slept all night. To top it off, the faucet water would spit air before running properly, which made simple things like brushing teeth or washing hands unnecessarily frustrating. This was supposed to be a relaxing family stay, and instead it felt like we were sleeping inside a mechanical room above a concert. If you value sleep — especially with children — I strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

I liked hotel and room. Location is great. My main disappointment was that they charged people for loungers on the beach, even while it was winter cool days with very little people on the beach, management preferred rather keep all loungers stacked and keep charging for chairs instead of giving it complimentary to few people chilling on the beach on cool winter days during the visit.

Everything was perfect. Staff was always so helpful and kind. Food was delicious. Pool was clean, and spacious. The atmosphere was fun and exciting. The live music was excellent! Great vacation we found our new favorite place.

BUT the music was too loud as the day and night got later and lasted till 1 or 2 am depending on day and we could not sleep until it finally stopped. I feel it didnt need to be that loud.

Music way too loud even with ear plugs. Drain plugged and tv broke. Needs to call 4 times to get replaced. Food was average, nothing special and could bring your own water bottles by the pool. Beach was small. I will pick St. Pete’s beach over Clearwater beach. Would not recommend this hotel.

The music was heard into the night, like 2:00 in the morning, that was crap, and we were in gulf tower away from the music!

The hotel is great and so are the workers; however the music playing at the tiki bar until 2am was annoying. Definitely not a place to stay for relaxation.

The resort had a nightclub. They played music until 2am on the weekend. With sound machines we could drown out the music, but not the vibration. We were in the alternate tower, on the 6th floor. You could feel the vibration through the floor when standing. When you laid down, you feel the vibration through your pillow. Could not sleep. Complained to the resort. They responded with “some people like that”.

Absolutely love this hotel by far our favorite to stay at has a private beach. Full of great shelling, live music every night, beautiful views of the Gulf from your own private balcony prices are reasonable! Has a great restaurant & bar area. Valet parking is convenient The staff is phenomenal, always extremely friendly. The hotel is very clean and the landscaping is beautiful. It's also walking distance to the pier and many of the activities, stores and fine dining in Clearwater.

Overall the room was clean and nice. Only issue was the low water pressure. Otherwise a great stay.

Room was poor in maintenance . I was told I could call at 8:30 am and request late checkout and when I called at the exact time I was instructed , they told me that they couldn’t accommodate. I was really tired from checking in at 2 am and that was not taken in consideration . I paid a very high rate to not be accommodated . I will not be staying there any longer

Great location great price compared to others. Private beach with bar and restaurant service. Great party deck with live music everyday. Great restaurants within walking distance. Staff was amazing for all our needs. Watersports available jetski, chair rentals, and paddle boards. In house restaurant the Cove has great food for the foodies in your group. We attended the NYE party great crowd that included locals with a greatview of the fireworks.

Immediately check bathroom for mold, dont think i need to say more there. Staff is nice. 6th floor always smelled of cannabis. The gym is very small. Main restaurant is closed for lunch. You have to pay for chairs and umbrellas at the beach each visit.

Booked a last minute stay whil travelling from orlando for a Saturday night and it was really amazing staying here even for a single night. Had an amazing live music with drinks at tiki bar. Its a small resort but nice peaceful location with good facilities for the price.

The property was a great location with lots of entertainment. The staff was very friendly and it was very clean. There’s a lot of music throughout each day, so you should be aware of that before you book your stay. They keep it very safe. We walked the beach every day we went downtown. It was a lot of fun.

Receptionist was very good . Also bcz of cold weather could not use pool etc so I am not happy to pay $25/- resort fee. They shouldn’t be charging $25/ per day We stayed here 2 nights and not happy to pay $50/- There was no tea bags in the room . We asked on reception and they didn’t have any tea bags Never had this experience before that after paying $240/- for night plus $25/- resort fee n No Tea bags!!!

The staff was wonderful! This was one of the cleanest resorts we have been to. Every morning the staff were busy cleaning the resort. The staff were friendly and tentative. The music venue was great. I would definitely recommend this A+ resort and will definitely come back again.:)

Second time staying here, and I love it!

The room was OK. It could’ve been better. The bathroom sink had hair in it. There were some repairs need to be done to the room. There was a lot of loud noise like boom noises. I couldn’t get to sleep till like three in the morning. But the beach access was nice.

We love staying at Shephards! So much this was our 6th time! Toni at the front desk is phenomenal, always going above and beyond to make you feel like family! The atmosphere at the club is amazing! Great food, staff, layout and plenty of things to do! Pool area is clean and stocked with fresh towels. Bar area has a great selection and superb service! You can tell the staff enjoy working at Shephard’s. Rooms are clean and spacious and have great views of the gulf. The beach is perfect with jet skis/chairs for rent. Love the beach being private with only a couple of hotels that have access to the area. Live music is a bonus, and even though it does get a little loud, it’s still a great time. Just stay in the hotels facing the street. I will continue to visit and recommend Shephard’s to all my friends and family!

The palce is just fun! I felt safe with my kids in general for being a boutique hotel, the beach close by and the water was calm. Obviously one needs to always be attentive to surroundings since i noticed people from street can get in and out so i dont think all were people staying at the hotel... in general i had a great expericence. Staff was super nice! Just good vibes and enjoyed their live show.

The property itself is nice, but the beach is narrow. The rooms are OK, but the beds were not comfortable. The noise is outside the windows was a lot, even though we were on the street side which they said was quieter.

The reason why I rated this hotel 4 because of the band was on until midnight and it was really loud.

Customer service was amazing. Checked in smoothly, the valet service was great and they help us bring our luggage to our room and bring our luggage down on check out. The room attendants were also attentive and our room is clean. Highly recommend this resort to anyone.

We had a great view of the beach and sunsets. Shephard's was a beautiful place! If you're traveling with children be aware the hotel is geared towards entertainment. If you are by the night club it will be loud on the weekend if you have a beach view room. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

I didn’t have the best experience because I have a baby and a ask the front desk for a crib since my baby don’t sleep and a bed, I called them 5pm about the crib and was waiting for someone to go to the room and bring it, they never bring the crib when I call 2 hours after they told me they didn’t have more crib, my baby cried for hours and we didn’t even sleep there.. so I am super annoying about the service. We did drive 3 hours home after that

Right off the bat the front desk clerk wasn’t the friendliest very Curt and to the point. Other than her everyone else was amazing. Room was clean and cleaned daily which was great. Had full kitchen with dishes utensils etc…only thing I had any issues with was could’ve been a bigger coffee pot not single we are big coffee lovers in the morning but not a huge deal breaker. Restaurant had odd hours so we didn’t get to try. Dance club on site was so fun! Drinks were a little pricey but we were drinking top shelf. Wish we could’ve brought our own drink tumblers down to pool and beach.

Resort doesn’t provide with beach chairs and umbrellas. There is an extra charge for that from different service not included in resort fee, which needs to be paid separately. Daily rent is $35.00

Property and experience was lovely. My only complaint is the wash cloths and towels. They were so horrible I was so annoyed, as they were rough and felt like washing your body with a brilo pad.

Shephard’s Beach Resort gave me exactly what I needed: sun, sand, good food, and an atmosphere full of life. I’d definitely come back when I want a mix of relaxation and celebration.

The staff was friendly. The place was clean. There are restaurants on the property and around the property. It's also very close to the beach and the aquarium. The live music was awesome! I will definitely return.

The worst part was the late checkout system. When I asked at the front desk, they told me to call at 6 a.m. on the morning of checkout to see if it was possible. So, on vacation, I had to set an alarm for 6 a.m. When I called, they told me to call back at 7. At 7, they finally said “OK” without hesitation. At noon checkout time, many other guests were checking out too. The restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive while serving, but if it wasn’t their table, or if you saw them in the hallway, they completely ignored you — like they were different people.

Kate in the restaurant was also great. My only complaint was the towels and wash cloths felt like sandpaper. They certainly need some fabric softener. We enjoyed the stage performances. This property was beautiful and the service wonderful. However, our "gulf view" was minimal and directly above the Wave Nightclub. We could not sleep at night as our entire room was vibrating. We are parents of young children and the point of this trip was rest and relaxation.

Nice location, pools are great. Staff is friendly. Room was clean just a bit outdated. Our only issue was our room was extremely loud , we never complained and understand people are on holiday and have the right to party. We barely slept on our nights there due to the loud music from the outside bar on the boardwalk .

Overall we had a good week at the property. It was too loud for us. The music from the nightclub and live band vibrated our floor several nights (4th floor-tower) and made it hard to sleep. The beds themselves were great which is very important to us. All staff we encountered went above and beyond. The beach was ok. Very small and populated by jet skis that stay there waiting to be rented. The beach isn’t big enough for half of the water to be taken up by jet skis. One day locals even stopped by on their jet skis and it was worse. If you are looking for a party, this might be your place to stay. It wasn’t ours but can see how it would appeal to some.

Chairs for rent by the water are very uncomfortable. Gas ran jet skiis in the swimming aria.

To start this is NOT a family friendly resort. Yeah people take families because they're under the impression it is. It's geared for the party types and if you look they consider themselves and entertainment venue. So allowing outside people to the beach via wave runner or walk in is what you get. The TINY beach area are filled with dope smoking beer drinking outsiders that don't care as the smoke tracks across the beach to the few kids playing there (neither does the hotel). Trash bags that accumulate at the beach from the seaweed collection. A beach extremely covered in broken shells you can hardly walk. Then of course the ridiculous must rent chairs and umbrellas at the beach. The noise is unbelievable (not from the music playing all the time) but from the gas powered blowers at 7am out front, the grease trap truck at 6AM that sounds like a 747 taking off. The restraunt on site COVE is an absolute joke. I couldn't even choke down a 1/4 of my $32 entree (although they did comp me $20). The Valet service was excellent, and the pool was nicely kept (unfortunately filled with thrashy profanity laced drunken types). The rooms we had was mediocre with wire sprung mattresses that were uncomfortable. The hotel was clean so a nod to the cleaning staff which were friendly. Don't let the pictures fool you..this is not a cute little quiet resort off the main drag. Now if your 20-30 yo partier, or a left over 80s hairband drinker this is the place for you. If your 40-50 w family RUN!

Close to a lot of dining, bars with views although I recommend Shepherds for Sunset. If you want quiet, be sure to book streetside since there are bands on the beach side.

In love with this Hotel

Great entertainment from live musicians. The drinks and food were delicious at the tiki bar.

However, the room could do with refurbishing as some things were broken, not working properly and quite old. It was extremely noisy too on the weekend due to the nightclub below.

I came to Shepherd's Beach for the first time to celebrate my birthday with close family & friends. The hotel stay was amazing! From the onsite bars, restaurants, club - to the friendliness of the staff it exceeded my expectations!

The desk clerk did not have the room we requested and blamed it on Expedia. She wanted to upcharge us for the room.Some of the bar staff were rude, but every one else were very nice. The resort also wanted to charge for beach chairs at per day.

Nice clean but older resort. Great room and beds. Pool and beach access were great. Food is pricey but there are restaurants nearby. Everyone was helpful and friendly. A real plus was the valet parking was included.

The hotel is great for those who like entertainment, it's a perfect hotel. There are shows, the pool is very lively, but for those who prefer to be quieter, I don't recommend it. I really enjoyed it.

Sevice was exceptional

When we checked in, they assigned us room 301. The front desk gave no directions on where the room was located. We took the elevator to the 3rd floor, but after room 302, the numbers jumped to 300 — room 301 simply didn’t exist. We called security for help, and even he couldn’t find it at first. After over 45 minutes of searching, he finally led us to a hidden, tiny staircase that went to a second floor under construction — surrounded by administrative offices and employee break rooms. There, tucked away, was “room 301.” I was shocked. No guest should be placed there — it was isolated, hidden, and honestly not even suitable for animals, let alone paying customers. To make matters worse, my husband is handicapped and could not possibly stay in such an inaccessible, unsafe, and desolate location. I felt completely uncomfortable, disrespected, and discriminated against. I returned to the front desk to complain, and they moved us to another room on the 5th floor — again without telling us where it was. After another 20 minutes of wandering, we found it… only to discover our “view” was the roof of a gas station, with loud motorcycles and people coming and going all night. I called again to request another change, but the front desk refused. We had no choice but to check out and find another hotel in the area. This was supposed to b

Everything you need right here at the resort. We never had to leave. Went from the beach to the pool to the restaurant. It was perfect. We will be back!!

Tv didnt work properly, toilet holder was broken, kept forgetting to replace towels and coffee and the floor is always dirty

I was very happy with the resort, but I don’t see why if you’re staying at the resort you have to pay $40 for two chairs and an umbrella. It should be included in your stay.

Atmosphere was amazing all weekend.

The beach has so many broken shells you cannot enjoy walking on it without the fear of cutting your feet. The hotel is SO LOUD/NOISY! The band played until 3AM with the sound system base blaring off the walls! Staff was not that accommodating. The tiny pool was always crowded with people drinking alcohol. Overall not a good experience. This is not a family friendly hotel at all! If you are a party animal, then this is the hotel for you, but for famililes with children, find somewhere better! I wish we didn't pay in advance. We regret staying there. Double thumbs down!

This was my first solo trip and the staff and location made it the best trip I’ve ever gone on!

Nice hotel with many amenities. Never a dull moment. Live music every day is cool however it does run till late and is loud so don’t expect to go to bed early at night. Staff is nice and drinks are plentiful. Would stay here again.

Overall experience was great. Laundry machines didnt work properly so we had to hang all our stuff to dry but that was a mild inconvenience nothing to be upset about. Will stay here again

I absolutely do not recommend this for families, as the nightlife is open to the public, and at night on weekends becomes like a nightclub. Other than that, the facility is nice, the staff is excellent, and the location can’t be beat. If you’re traveling as a couple or adult friends, it is really great. The music goes on late night on Friday and Saturday night, so you have to expect that if you bring kids. But for adults, it’s very very cool.

The rooms was ok but the bathroom was in bad shape with lots of decay and rust. It was also incredibly loud. The live music went very late every night.

Had the absolute best time staying at Shepard’s!! Definitely will be back. The pool was wonderful and easy access to the beach. We have stayed in Clearwater for the past few years but this was our first time at Shepard’s. The staff was so nice and accommodating.

I went for my girlfriend’s birthday it was really good and fun. I think that it deserves it. A lot of things to do, fun, beautiful private beach and the food was really good.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The resort was beautiful especially the pool! The beach was right there and the views were beautiful! I didn’t realize the music however would go to 130 in the morning. It was extremely loud in our pool view room. I would absolutely stay there again just maybe not have a pool view room if my flight out was an early one.

Awesome place to stay. Great staff and service. The gym was quite small and limited but we made it work. Our toilet handle would stick and run at night if you didnt get the handle just right. Overall it was a great experience, pool area is amazing, vibe is great. Entertainment, food, beach area and music were great. Kid and family friendly. Would stay again.

Staff isnt very efficient. But the worst is the acces to the beach is almost blocked by rental jetskies, and they have a company that charges you $35 dollars a day for an umbrella and 2 chairs. And they call themselves a Resort...

This hotel lived up to the expectations that show in the photos. Aside from that, the staff was amazing in that they were super friendly and helpful, especially Toni at the reception desk! She made us feel very at home. The pool is immaculate and the beach is nice but be sure to bring water shoes to enjoy the beach because the seashells are pretty but they are a little rough on the bare feet! We will be back to enjoy again!

Wonderful resort and amenities! Staff was friendly and helpful. The food at the Tiki Restaurant was amazing - especially the sweet potato fries! Drinks and food all reasonably priced and delicious! We will be returning!

This was by far our most favorite vacation!! We loved the live music every day!
