Modern Motel

You get what you pay for, so I’m keeping that in mind as I write this. I didn’t feel very safe there, some people lingering outside. It wasn’t clean in the room, a mysterious spill on the floor and pee on the toilet. Pillows were the worst ever, only about an inch thick. No extra pillows either. Beds were uncomfortable. However, the check in staff was friendly. Would never return.

A bit seedy - quite a few late night/wee morning hours noisy groups in the parking area hanging out - but for the price somewhat expected - staff friendly and welcoming.

We were not given the room booked online. The room had a broken bathroom door and the door knob did not lock. The AC didnt work. They offered to move us to another room but someone else came into the office saying their AC was also not working so we decided to cancel our stay and go somewhere else.

Too many tweekers and low lifes. There seemed to be a lot of vehicles in the parking lot that were gone the next morning suggesting partying and drug use. The people next to us were still up and hanging out yakking with the door open at 0300. suggesting amphetamine use. This activity seems to be rampant everywhere anymore at these downtown motels. Had to wash my feet as the floor was so dirty. I'll just stay elsewhere next time so we don't have to deal with this crap.

The pictures are not a good representation of the actual property. When we arrived it was terrible. We didn't even stay the night because we were so incredibly disappointed that we immediately booked a different hotel.

The location and price were good. The decor was nice. There were drain flies in the room. It sounded like they were doing construction in the room above us. The bed was extremely soft, and the pillows were flat. The bathroom tile looked like someone had done a DIY job, and this was their first time trying to work with tile.

The staff are awesome! Everyone I had interacted with was very polite and helpful. The room itself was, different. Windows next to the door allowed easy view into room,no curtains or blinds. I had to use a box to cover them. Several homeless people were on the property and I had one outside my door the 1st evening. I wasn't overly concerned for my well being, I would not recommend to single women or families.

I am waiting for a refund, after reporting to motel staff that the room we were supposed to stay in smelled like cat urine. We left immediately and asked for a refund the next day. The office door had a no vacancy sign on door and I did not check to see if it was unlocked. Later we were informed that the windows are dark and there was someone in the office. The room was finished with a bed and no interior chain lock for added security. There was toiletries in the room. Which we did not use. I was informed other patrons did not report cat urine smell in the room, the staff was skeptical that my concerns were valid.

Definitely a quick spruce up on an older place. Clean but definitely a specific vibe that isn’t for everyone. Lots of long term residents and cops were there several times during our two night stay.

I have stayed in many low cost motels but this was the absolute worst. Definitely some shady things happening here. I was being watched by multiple people getting y bags out of my car and going into my room. There was definitely open drug use and problematic people wandering in and out of the property. The city is nice but the human feces all around the hotel and the angry homeless yelling at people left and right was a problem. After I took a shower, I felt dirtier than before I went in. The faucet handles were greasy and pubic hair came off the shower curtain. I booked and another hotel within 1 hour and left this place. Avoid at ALL costs. Pulled in to check into property and was early. None of the images online accurately represent the property. Office area is closed from 1-3 (most likely safety issues) so I could not cancel directly. Had to email. Luckily the manager knew that it was unsafe and cancelled at no charge, they didn't even argue about it. The only things correct is that it's been re-painted at some point, and has the correct name, everything else is a misrepresentation. Travel beware.

The staff was nice and the room was clean but the other people staying at the motel were questionable and there were several unhoused people living on the property. When we left in the morning, there was an officer in the parking lot arresting someone who was staying there.

Easily the most terrifying motel I’ve ever been to. We arrived at 2 pm as directed by the staff, but the office was closed. We waited about 5 minutes in the parking lot and observed so much sketchy behavior and scary individuals going in and out of cars and rooms. I felt genuinely unsafe, and could not imagine sleeping at all if we stayed there. We left and got a different room elsewhere. SO glad we did.

I don't know how I missed all the reviews regarding the door lock and safety concerns. As mentioned, the rooms had a keypad lock on the outside, no additional safety lock from inside the room. After checking in I was unable to open the door. The front desk clerk had to come show me a "trick" to get it open. There were some people sitting in a car right in front of my room watching everything, which made me uneasy. I decided to just leave and find another place to stay. I've stayed in a range of places before and this was the first one I genuinely felt unsafe.

I don't like the fact that we have to ask them to clean. If you don't it won't happen. We stayed 4 days.

The staff was so nice and very friendly. I was able to check in early. The rooms have key pads and do not use card keys, but my key pad never worked to I had to use a real key. Which made it challenging when I checked out because I had to leave at 3am. I spoke with the front desk and just let the key in the room and the room unlocked. I am hoping no one went in and destroyed the room since there were several people in the parking lot when I let at 3 am. The room was also not clean at all, but I did check in several hours early so I gave some grace. I did buy a broom and dustpan. The amount of dirt I swept up was way more than one days worth. But the staff is so friendly I hate to leave a bad review but hopefully this will help with things that need to be fixed.

Which was mostly the outside noise and people staying next to me. I get that motels often attract certain things and behaviors, but the room next to me was, as far as I could tell, running drugs in and out all night long. People were coming and going constantly(slamming the door each time) starting at midnight and going until at least 3:00am, and then some fighting broke out, with things being slammed into the walls, screaming, etc. I had heard that staff were staying nearby, so not sure if they eventually responded to it, but the noise would be hard to not notice, especially that late. So, a nice place to stay assuming that people like the ones next to me aren’t the norm there…

Nice and clean hotel in a great area. The place was beautiful and well kept. Unfortunately, it was very hard to sleep because other guests were quite noisy at night. Still, I would give it another chance because overall it was a pleasant stay.

Great location.

Walking distance to Pikes Peak Center. Rooms were a good size and clean. I had a pleasant conversation with the desk clerk who was very friendly.

Yes the air-conditioning worked fine. Parking was convenient. The location was perfect for the conditions and the situation. The toilet tank wouldn’t stop running so I would have to remove the lid and pull the lever up to get the water to stop flowing. Other than that I expect I’ll be using the modern motel again.

Yes everything was lovely

First, deadbolt on door appeared to have been kicked in. It locked, but seemed less than secure if someone wanted to get in. Second it smelled musty/mildewy. These 2 things almost made us go get changed to another room, but the motel had already called us twice because they needed to change our room because they needed the double queen for other guests because their heat didn't work. Third, and worst of all, the next morning we found out the hot water tap in the shower didn't work. That is unforgivable. We told the front desk, but the response was indifference.

1. A lady “walking her dog” and walking in between all the cars in the parking lot, peering inside to see what was inside (including mine! She was surprised to see me in there) 2. A man who might’ve been homeless making 4-5 trips between his room on the first floor and the gas station across the street. I honestly think he might’ve been running drugs between cars at the gas station and the room he had access to. 3. A few different people going in and out of a room on the first floor with Christmas lights and loud music 4. (Best one yet) a man on the second floor of the building with an LED flashlight who was shining it across the parking lot into different rooms and vehicles for a good 5 minutes. What was he doing? It was around 11pm and he is shining a flashlight into people’s rooms indiscriminately. This place was like a horror house on Halloween with scare actors. Do not stay here. I should’ve read the reviews. They get enough clientele from the ghouls of the night. They don’t need yours. I decided that I could not stay here, and I’m not one to complain. This was just unacceptable.

The only problem i had was that there were some guests working on their car till 1130p.m. other than that everything was great.

The structure of things in the room were a bit off. Bathroom door had to lift up to close. The towel rack was just screwed into the wall so when we took the towel off it came out of the wall. Staff was very help full. Especially coming in after hours.

There was no soap (like they were out of soap), the room was not clean, it had a bit of a smell, the curtains didn’t close all the way, and…our bed was broken! To their credit, the lady working and maintenance man tried to help and did end up bringing us a new bed frame at 9:30 pm. They were trying, the motel is bad, do not recommend.

Fast check in. Very friendly clerk. Fast and easy checkout. Location is perfect if you are doing anything downtown and don't want the hassle of driving and then finding parking. Room was in excellent shape, everything worked and the beds were very comfortable.

This motel is clean, well kept and comfortable. I appreciate how they utilize the space to feel like you are staying in a studio. There is full size kitchen sink with counter space. There is full bath and the shower hot water NEVER let you down and it can get extremely hot 😅. They have reliable television. Location is quiet and convenient to restaurants and cafes within walking distance around downtown. Staff is amazing and a well organized team. They will clean your room thoroughly. I have memories at this motel and I appreciate their hospitality!

The family oriented staff here at this hotel is definitely one of a kind. They're super polite and very respectful. I would most definitely recommend this motel to anyone whose looking for a hotel room.

Hotel is older, but in good condition. not fancy but suited our needs just fine. gathering area with grill and seating, while we didn't get an opportunity to use- was a nice bonus especially for a group. Our only complaint was our towels were stained. we ended up getting our own. If we had an occasion for the two of us again to return to Colorado Springs, we would definitely consider going back.

I don't know how this has a 7.4 out of 10. Terrible smell in the room, no coat hangers, shower head sprayed through the entire bathroom, water would go hot/cold, bed was extremely uncomfortable and there were homeless people all over the area.

Everything you read in the reviews about this motel are true. The hotel is clean, nicely, renovated, and well maintained given its age. Very comfortable bed. Strong weird smell in the room, Half used toilet paper in the bathroom and no extras, beds where very uncomfortable, random people would be in the parking lot during the night.

Prefect for an economical 5 night stay with great Mountain Bike access!

Perfect economical for my Sunday to Friday morning stay. Was a great base camp from which my adult Son rented a Mountain Bike from Teds and i toured Colorado Springs historic sites. Thursday we hiked Mount Beirstadt.... a fairly long drive but good consideri g all.

Perfectly adequate motel for short stay. Upgraded fixtures, so good lighting and plumbing. Beds and bed clothes fairly comfortable. Good AC. Not much noise. Bravo for all modernizing efforts!

The tenants in the building were incredibly sketchy and it didn’t feel safe. The room was semi clean but the air conditioning unit smelled so bad and the wires hung out and were a tripping hazard. The whole room smelled so bad… I’d never stay here again.

Perfect low cost and just right for my adult Son and myself as abase camp for Minitou Incline and other COS area adventures.

Wreaked of smoke, dog hairs all over one pillow (so it must not have been washed), felt sketchy unsafe outside esp with young kids, no deadbolt lock, towels stunk and had muddy dirt stains,

Unsafe and very noisey. Concerned about our vehicle all night as well as being kept up by the upstairs neighbor walking around. The area is surrounded by homeless and drug addicts.

The staff is very friendly and they cant do anything about the environment for which they are in. Motorcycles, cars, and trucks are revving around this area at all hours. Car alarms are also going off far more frequently than one would assume. Again staff nor facility can do anything about that

The staff were incredibly nice to us and were more than willing to help with anything we needed. It was easy to get into the rooms which was very nice. The room that I was in was kind of concerning though. There were stains on the sheets of one of the beds and the bathroom was kind of dirty. Other than that, the stay was very nice!

The hotel was good as far as location, close to things to walk to or drive. The air conditioner didn’t work very well, even though it was on full blast. Donuts and coffee in the lobby on the weekends was a nice addition. The beds were comfy and that’s all we needed.

Redundant toiletries. It would be nice to have shampoo and conditioner not 4 lotions. Also there’s an insane amount of fruit flies in here. Check out is at 10 and they charge for a late checkout. Kinda feels like a nickel and dime situation.

This place was amazing! Motel that’s been completely refurbished with a wonderful retro vibe and neighborhood feel. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Room was spotless, bedding was comfy, and all the staff we had contact with were super friendly. This will be our place to stay when visiting Colorado Springs.

Rooms were not as advertised. Carpet was very dirty, and the beds were uncomfortable. The bathrooms are severely out dated and the fridge was in an awkward placement taking up a lot of space in the room. The area is also not a place to stay with family or pets.

overall the staff was wonderful when they were there. the motel isn't staffed overnight though. no one was there in the morning( 6am) when i needed to check out. the photos appear to have been taken awhile ago because you could tell there was a lot of wear and tear on the walls, mirrors, tiles, floors. There was also no headboards?? also couldn't find the ice machine, and no staff was there to guide me to it.

This is strictly a budget friendly motel. If you are trying to save money then go for it. For me personally, I should've spent the extra money and stayed somewhere else. The TV didn't work because the internet sucks there. The mattress protectors only cover about 75% of the mattress. There are no pillow protectors on the pillows either. They provide you with body wash, but not shampoo. The toilet seat in 1 of our rooms was crooked. The shower in another room was dirty.

It was a older Hotel but over all it was clean and was convenient for what we wanted. We had no issues. The only thing is you have to take your dirty towels to desk to get clean ones.

I like the people working. They're very friendly but I didn't like is there was no pool. But that was probably my fault. Maybe I understood it wrong.

Well placed on the periphery of downtown so just a short walk. Plenty of parking. Good size , clean and well equipped room with decent aircon. Very warm welcome and local advice on arrival.

We booked 8 rooms for two nights. We arrived late at about 10:30pm due to the delay of the flight from Yellowstone. The door is closed and nobody answer to the phone call when we got the hotel. We have pre paid the room charge. We have no way but find other hotels but other hotels available were very expensive. We were a group of 31 members. This kind of thing must not be happened to any member hotels of Hotels.com.

No frills, but plenty of everything. Hot water, water pressure, and towels. This is an excellent value too. Close to tons of restaurants and bars.

The place looked nice with newish furnishing. The desk was very small and uncomfortable to work at on my laptop. Only real gripe is that the room was probably a smoking room sometime in the past as the room still had a little bit of that smell.

As someone else noted, it is more like a homeless shelter than a motel. There were many people sort of hanging around the parking lot that were clearly not travelers but residents. Our room has filthy blinds, stains and remnants of tape on the wall. My friend saw a bug crawl across one of the pillows on her bed, which were also stained. It was cheap and served its purpose but we definitely wish we would have spent a bit more and picked a cleaner, safer hotel. Not worth the low price.

Just a huge disappointment. Staff was nothing but disrespectful and ignorant to us.

It would be perfect if the ceiling furnace was working. They gave me a nice big ceramic heater that does the job but not having to maneuver around it would be much better. The room is beautiful - well appointed with modern devor accents and theme. New sinks, counters, floor, comfy beds, all new furniture. Very clean with plenty of towels, etc. Microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker all are new and functional.

Price is cheap so there was nothing fancy but all the basics were there. Even a microwave, refrigerator with freezer, in-room coffee, and a free soda upon checkin

I think this was a great motel overall. The only complaint I have is that the room we stayed in smelt like dog pee.
