This is a very unique stay. If your into history, stories, intelligent conversation and delightful filling breakfasts, then this your place. It is historical. Some cool things are listening to a Victorola at breakfast, talking with a local host, and looking at all the collected history on the walls.

The owner was very friendly and I enjoyed the friendly cats outside. The Heritage Room was a little small for the two of us but we needed a room with a chair so that made it seem smaller. It might be more comfortable to have a room up on the second floor instead of the first because as you come out of the room, the dining room is right there. Overall, it is a very good price for the bed and breakfast with a very pleasant owner.

A wonderful experience. My husband and I and our two friends were traveling through and I googled BnB in the area. Lucked out and found this place. The house had a lot of history and is quaint and comfortable. Our hostess Arlene is a treasure. Chock-full of intriguing stories and experiences to include first hand knowledge of the House as well as the neighborhood and nearby “must see” sites to visit during our short stay. The breakfast she prepared was delicious. Her hospitality unmatched. I could sit and talk with her for hours. Would definitely stay again for longer than one night.

Such a great place. Lots of history and the host was great. Breakfast is with all the of the guests there in the Dining room which at first I was not sure about but it was nice to hear everyone’s stories and the host talked about all of the history of the bed and breakfast. There are no TVs in the rooms but honestly it was quite nice without it. Also lots of cool restaurants. Front range bbq was just up the street and had great food. Also it was featured on diners drive ins and dives with Guy Fieri on food network! Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Special thanks to Arlene, the proprietor and manager, for sending back to me the AirPods I left behind in the room. Arlene did not give up in our attempts to locate it as it was showing it was still there in FindMy app. Arlene didn’t even charge for the shipping costs despite it having been my fault and not of their staff. Thanks to much Arlene!

Arlen Lanham, an engineer and author, and an absolute Bon Vivant, runs an amazingly welcoming and friendly old Victorian house in the charming Old Colorado Town neighborhood. The breakfast alone, between the conversations, history, and wonderful food, makes the stay one which I really hope to repeat!

It is a lovely property, but shows its age. While it was generally clean, the bathroom rug and baseboard were filthy. The outside and yard need a good cleaning. The breakfast was tasty, but didn't include protein or toast, and tended to be quite sweet.

There was no one there at check in and no one there other than breakfast. One or two other guests at any time. We stay at bed and breakfast and not at a hotel for the conversations, recommendations and personal touch an owner gives. My understanding was the owner was on vacation. I would have preferred to know this before booking. It was a beautiful Victorian home.

There were many things to like about this property: it has a great location, it's beautiful, it was quiet, and the breakfast was very tasty. Our host was lovely but the B&B wasn't a good fit for us. We wanted a place close to walking distance from Old Colorado City and thought the B&B would be something outside the box. That is was but not for our taste. Our room was on the main floor across from the formal dining room. We were informed breakfast would be at 8am but we are early risers (5am) and had to catch a flight. We realize it's an old house but you could hear people walking outside our door due to the floors creaking. It could be a very nice place with some of the historical memorabilia put away. Needs to update all the lightbulbs, bed linens and pillows (with had to fold our 1 flat pillow in half to get comfortable). Include 4 pillows with each room. I think if you're into a community breakfast and love to stay in historical places, this would be for you. On the plus side, we love the 2 comical neighborhood cats greeting us at the property. I think one of them wanted to come home with us. Super cute!

Travelling from Texas we were surprised to have Covid restrictions required upon our arrival. Had this been disclosed to me, clearly, during booking I would not have even considered staying at the property. Since it's not refundable by Hotels.com we lost two nights fee. We have been scammed by both the host and Hotels.com.

Old school basic charm. Host gave history and details of this historic home. It is old school. So expect a bed, bath and breakfast. Great location and host was friendly and informative. Historic home w/attentive innkeeper. However, numerous homeless people in neighborhood, boarded up houses nearby, pancake flat pillows made sleeping truly a challenge & very minimal room for suitcases due to knicknacks. Convenient to Garden of the Gods & Pikes Peak.

WARNING BED BUGS!! The room was dirty, carpets not vacuumed and hair in my bed. I was so exhausted after a procedure I had that day I stayed anyway and tried to cancel the second night and get a refund because I was clearly unhappy. The owner would not even consider a refund. Then I drove all the way back to NewMexico that day so exhausted and started seeing several bites on my arms and legs and my back started itching. I looked up the marks when I got home thinking it was bed bug bites and sure enough they were. I called Arlene to complain and let her know the issue and she said there was no way they had bed bugs and I could come inspect to find them and show her. A professional exterminator has to do that to find them by the way. So I started a dispute with my bank and now she is lying and saying I declined the mask policy and never stayed there.

This wasn’t charming or full of character, it was just shabby (and not shabby-chic.) Breakfast was terrible, served rigidly at 8 AM, and forced to sit around the table with the host while she told her own stories. Not a relaxing experience, limited privacy, not comfortable, overall depressing surroundings. I’d give it a miss.

The B and B was located in the Old Colorado City, one block off Colorado Avenue that is filled with shops and restaurants, all within walking distance. It's also near hiking trails in the Open Space, an extension of the rock formations connected with Garden of the Gods but with fewer people walking about and more parking options.
