Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. Guests appreciate the unique, vintage charm of the property and its proximity to local attractions. However, some guests find the hotel outdated and in need of updates, particularly in the bathrooms.

Very close to the mountains and all the sites we wanted to see. Every big “attraction” in the area was a maximum of 15-20 minutes away. The staff were super friendly and accommodating! The pool was great for the super hot days we were there (high 80s low 90s). There was a trail and lookout 5 minutes walking distance from the lodge that connected to Garden of the Gods - which took us by surprise! Was a wonderful spot to watch the sunset. I don’t want this to impact the score because it certainly was not a necessity, but after long days of hiking, I wish there was a hot tub to relax in, but the pool served us well.

Location, Front desk, the esthetics of the building. The cleanliness wasn’t great, there was hair in the shower, toilet, sink and when we pulled the blankets down found a few more. My neighbors were extremely loud.
- 5/5
The pool was great, right out the back door. Everyone is friendly, there was coffee and easy breakfast. We felt very safe the whole time we were there. Will recommend to friends and family and will diffenantly stay again. We had to leave, our time was over.

I liked everything! Room with kitchen, pool, super friendly staff family. Close to Safeway, bike rental and manitou springs/barr trail/pikes peak. Owner is awesome and recommended I call for anything. N/a
- 5/5
Affordable. Dog friendly. Clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. I can't complain
- 4/5
Room was a bit small, but was clean. Breakfast was not supplied, but coffee, fruit and pastries were unexpectedly offered and were better than most "continental breakfast" offered by many other hotels we stayed at.. Great hosts. Unfortunately the TV didn't work, but was advised on checkout previous guests had probably changed the settings. Nice to be without TV for a couple of days anyway.

Location was awesome, nice and quiet. The owner was friendly and helpful. Parking is a little tight luckily had a compact car and not my truck. Online it says $15 per pet but I was charged $30 per pet so I don’t know if they squeezed out a little more money out of me or if they changed the pricing and it’s not updated online?

I pool was great when the weather cooperated Needed a new king mattress

The bed was comfortable. The guy who checked me in was not overly friendly, I’d say satisfactory. It’s definitely surface clean. I moved an end table and no one clearly cleans under things. I opened the curtains, the window and window ceil was dusty. The screen was broken and flies came in. The parking was very tight. But it had sufficient parking I would stay here again. I do recommend it, as the good things definitely outweigh the other.
- 2/5
I was locked out of my room with no phone and was unable to get support due to know one being on property or available.
- 3/5
Nice folks and clean place, but the sheets had a particular moth-ball-like scent that clung to my night clothes and pillow I brought. I had to wash everything when I got home. The hosts are very nice though.
- 3/5
Kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and dining. I have AT&T and there was 1 bar at the hotel. Wifi was incredibly slow, .04mbs download speed. Staff was very very kind.
- 4/5
Room had microwave and fridge which was all I needed. Parking = n/a.
- 5/5
The room door was impossible for my arthritic hands to open
- 4/5
Good value for the price.
- 5/5
Fantastic -- Okay if you have an issue with furniture being a bit dated, this isn't your place -- but all of the furniture was very comfortable - kitchen and bath were totally updated and I had a huge bedroom, living room, walk-in closet, kitchen and bath - quiet - secure -- wonderful stay! Great place to tuck away and yet be close to the amazing Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, Incline -- you name it -- Thanks again.
- 4/5
The motel places a high value for cleanliness. The renovation of the guest rooms adds to the character of the motel. The only criticism is the noise level is amplified due to lack of soundproof of the rooms. Unfortunately the rooms on either side of our room failed to control of the noise. we were awaken by music playing and television playing loudly thru the evening.
- 5/5
We LOVE this place and book here every time we are in town. Jimmy was accommodating and kind and the room was beautiful. See you again soon!
- 5/5
Room was nice and clean
- 5/5
Yes. Very friendly and the rooms were well taking care of and priced.
- 5/5
The room was dated, but it was clean and the staff was very friendly. This is a more unique stay than the traditional hotel, so if you're up for something different then this is a nice place.
- 5/5
The room and atmosphere was pleasant and perfect for my stay.
- 4/5
Really didn’t want to wash the tree sap off of my car. Otherwise, we truly enjoy staying there.
- 5/5
Check in with the innkeeper, set a cordial tone for my 5 day stay. My kitchenette was well cleaned and equipped. Premises were in good order. Count me appreciative. This stay was a great value.
- 5/5
Staff was accommodating and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking even for our visitors. Location is great and within all the fun stuff.
- 5/5
very friendly, great location and price, perfect for our visit to Manitou Springs!
- 3/5
The room was clean. An outdated property. The staff was excellent and willing to help with anything
- 4/5
Ok not great not bad
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and the decoration of rooms very homie.
- 5/5
The room was so quaint and clean! Recommended!
- 4/5
Perfect location for traveling to Pikes Peak and the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The furnishings/decor are quite dated. Outdoor area is manicured with potted plants adding to the charm. Owners are very friendly and responsive to all requests. Had a great time here!
- 5/5
Very cute place. No frills, but it’s a clean place to sleep. Staff was friendly. Would stay again
- 5/5
Comfortable and clean room! I will stay here again!
- 4/5
Room furniture is so old and funky
- 3/5
The hotel is adorable and it’s in a wonderful location and the people who run it are very friendly and helpful. That said, it’s pretty grubby and not in great shape. The tiles on the bathroom and kitchen floor are broken, things are just dirty, dusty and sticky. We had to rewash every dish in the cabinet. There is so much potential here and we got over our initial surprise at the condition and had a good stay.
- 5/5
Room was cute and clean. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Great location with easy access to many things in the area. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Cute nostalgic vibe. Being dog friendly is a must for us
- 5/5
We stayed here last year and had no hesitation in booking again this year. Has everything we need and a great location, convenient for Colorado Sorings Old City and Manitou. Lovely pool too.
- 5/5
locally owned and operated nice family who care about traditional hospitality.
- 5/5
Management was excellent and friendly. The room was very nice and well maintained.
- 4/5
Enjoyed our stay- nice hosts, pool looked great. Older building was clean and bed was very comfortable. Little water pressure issue in the shower, but cute little bathroom.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and the room was well above average, very clean and well appointed for this price range.
- 5/5
This is a great property and well taken care of.
- 5/5
Easy access nice rooms, clean all good
- 5/5
Super quaint, comfortable beds with spacious rooms. Loved that there was a walking trail nearby to take the dogs out. Definitely would recommend!
- 5/5
Quiet, clean and cozy. Only issue is someone took my parking under the carport assigned and when I asked her she didn't want to move. Parking is limited but would stay again
- 5/5
We really enjoyed this older but charming place as well as the town of Manitou Springs. Excellent Mexican restaurant right next door. Pillows could be changed out for something softer and the soap supply was the bare minimum. We would stay again.
- 5/5
This charming motel has a vintage vibe, but is updated just enough. The layout of the room was fantastic, as I'm traveling with a teenager, and with the beds on different walls, I could only see his feet. Two lovely wing chairs gave us a place to relax by the window. We will definitely return!
- 4/5
In a good location, friendly staff
- 4/5
We stayed for almost a week. We really enjoyed our experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The people who run it are friendly and welcoming. We would stay again.
- 4/5
No lotion offered and soap was 2 tiny bars. Floor was gritty should have been vacuumed. Quiet. Offered lots of water, amazing ice machine and price was right. Good choice for Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak visit.
- 5/5
I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you're into more of a home-like, cozy feel, this place is it. I was going to be staying for 6 days, so got one with a full little kitchen. The furniture is not cookie cutter, more traditional B&B style. The staff (all family) are super friendly and down to earth. It's quiet, even for being close to a highway. Really close to Garden of the God's, Manitou, and easy to get to anything in the Springs. It's definitely my go-to , now, any time I visit Colorado Springs. Oh! And they're pet friendly!
- 4/5
Comfortable and allows pets, but yard/outside REALLY NICE. Friendly staff I will stay there again. Parking limited is the back
- 5/5
Don’t let your eyes deceive you! This is an awesome little place to stay! It’s not the Ritz but quiet and comfortable and affordable! Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Family ran property. Very friendly and helpful. Nice room with kitchen.Enjoyed my stay there.
- 4/5
very cute little hotel staff was friendly
- 5/5
Everything was perfect we will stay there again.
- 5/5
The quaintness and feel of the property was outstanding. I wish we had more time to stay there. Planning to return one day very soon.
- 4/5
Toilet did not flush great. Bathtub spicket handle needs tightening. Could use some avail electric outlets
- 3/5
The pictures don’t tell the whole story. Many of the units have one small window and the one we had was partially blocked. And the room was so small we could barely walk around the bed. I would not return to this property.
- 5/5
A clean and cozy spot. The owner was friendly and helpful. Very close to Manitou Springs and loads of yummy restaurants.
- 5/5
Little quiet inn located going into Manitou Springs. Affordable and worth the stay
- 5/5
This spot just gave me everything I needed. I wanted a place that would be comfortable enough to recharge as necessary, with a location that could set me up well for bouncing back and forth between Manitou Springs and Downtown Colorado Springs. The Rainbow Lodge delivered the comfort I was looking for, with their furniture and bedding, and topped it off with daily cleaning services as well. I hadn't even realized until I got there that this inn was located right across the way from a bus stop, but this ended up being really beneficial for me getting around (though its location also set me up well to walk to both Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City as well). And as the cherry on top, this place was able to deliver on all of my desires while providing that classic motel aesthetic. The value that I got was quite immense for a rather small pricetag, and I would certainly strongly consider staying here again if I'm ever back in town.
- 3/5
Not that great.
- 3/5
Owners of the property were very nice. Our room,1 king bed. The bathroom needed “Major” updating. Very small, no Counter space, door wouldn’t close. Bathtub fixtures loose, tub itself was chipped and starting to rust. Toilet paper holder mounted behind toilet hard to reach. Dirty/laminate floor and rug. Pictures on website of room were Misleading. Noisy rooms, paper thin walls, needed to run a/c unit to drowned out the noise. Location was good for the area.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and charming! Perfect weekend getaway stay!
- 5/5
Good value, comfortable beds, clean rooms. Nice staff too.
- 5/5
Quiet , Convenient location, Pets allowed! Great Owners!! Will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Our stay was amazing. The room was exceptionally clean. Parking was right at the door. The whole lodge was very "dog" friendly, and we had no problems traveling with our large dog.
- 5/5
The room was a bit dated with pink tile in the bathroom and a bathroom sink that didn’t work so good, I really liked the room over all. It almost had an L shape to it where the 2 queen beds weren’t side by side like they are in traditional hotel rooms but each had its own “space”. The shower had some of the best water pressure I have ever had in a hotel, which I really appreciated. Room was clean, and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
I stay here every time I come to Manitou Springs. Great place to stay!
- 3/5
Just an overnight stay and overall was fine. Bed was comfortable, shower was clean, but the smell was very strong. I think it was a mix of bleach and something else...not quite sure, but potent. Woke up in the middle of the night and it was still there.
- 5/5
However I give the room an 8.
- 5/5
Just pull your car up to your room and you’re all set.
- 5/5
Nice room and amenities. Loved walking my dog down by the creek. Lovely area! Only downfall was no desk to work at.
- 5/5
Recommend if you need a place to stay on a budget. Cleanliness matters and Rainbow Lodge was clea.
- 4/5
Right near the Welcome to Manitou Springs arch and a few miles from Old Colorado City, Garden of the Gods, Cliff Dwellings, Wind Caves, The Incline and Cog Railway. Historic Motel in a so-so area, though we felt safe. Owned by an On-site family with free coffee, fruit and packaged danish each morning. Unfortunately, the in-ground pool was closed for the season during our early September stay, but I can see how it’d be lovely. Our room had a small kitchen, separate living room and patio. As expected with older buildings, our room was a little musty. Overall, this Motel made for a great little roadtrip with my daughter and our 2 dogs.
- 5/5
The hotel grounds were kept beautiful with lots of flowers. The room was apportioned more like a home, with real furniture, rather than regular hotel stuff. The front desk attendant was engaging and helpful. If it weren't for our schedule I would have liked to have stayed longer.
- 5/5
Very clean staff was very hospitality and will book in the future
- 4/5
Motel style but still very warm and friendly. Coffee/fruit/danishes provided.
- 1/5
It felt like a community at Rainbow Lodge. We were there during a weekend and we even made some new friends.
- 5/5
Very convenient and quiet place. Not terribly clean and needed some maintenance. Breakfast was minimal.
- 5/5
Very nicely updated, clean, and friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay while visiting Garden of the Gods. Convenient location to attractions and restaurants
- 4/5
We absolutely loved the retro feel of this adorable motel. Staff were amazing, and were kind enough to lend us a couple of wine glasses for our romantic evening. The pool was clean and had plenty of comfortable seating. The mattress was rather uncomfortable, but did the trick.
- 4/5
When we first arrived I thought maybe it was a little dated however, it was a great location and the service was excellent. So close to garden of the gods and beautiful Manitou Springs.
- 5/5
Quick trip for a weekend concert. Great location and comfy rooms on the quiet side of the main strip. 2 minutes from Garden of the Gods and delicious food!
- 4/5
We would stay there again.
- 3/5
Air conditioning was obviously controlled by the staff as the controls would not adjust anything and it had a modified thermostat device
- 5/5
Old but a nice property for the value you pay
- 3/5
Nice place, nice people. When we walked in there was a strong smell of cleaner, (rug cleaner?), that disapated by the time we got back from the Garden of the Gods. It was not a problem at all, rather have that than have my feet stuck to the floor. Didn't have a chance to use the pool, though it looked very inviting.
- 4/5
Very nice room, classic feel good A/C, pretty comfy bed.. nicely decorated.. nice clean decent sized bathroom, small kitchen with microwave medium size fridge and two burner stove..uti sels and silverware and plates.. even gave a bottle of dish soap and scrub pad...place has ice machine with lots of ice and pool towels always available. Breakfast was okay with packaged muffins fruit and coffee..nothing special but it was fine for me. Pool.is very nice and clean and place has a great view of Pikes peak! Very pet friendly, The staff was friendly.. lots of cigarette smoker around though.. so that stinch is frequently in the air. Overall great pla e to stay in the heart of everything you would want to see and do.
- 5/5
Encountered some minor problems, but staff & mangement was always friendly and responsive. Being a trip with my grandkids, the pool was a welcome feature for my group.
- 5/5
Clean, cozy and well maintained, very friendly staff, definitely would stay again.
- 5/5
The service and people were friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned and restocked when we returned from Pike’s Peak on the second day. We arrived the evening of 7/4 and they told us where the locals went for fireworks. It was amazing. Super convenient to Manitau Springs and Old Town.
- 5/5
Very nice people. Parking right outside. Clean. Not far from attractions. Hair dryer, frig, and microwave. Bed was comfy
- 3/5
The staff is not nice
- 4/5
The only problem was the person living in room 127 (I’m pretty sure, but I would not walk by close enough to see the number) was outside ranting and cussing. He actually went over to the person in room 129, who was sitting outside enjoying the weather, and began yelling at him. We didn’t hang outside the rest of our stay. I believe the people in 129 checked out, because they left shortly after the frightful encounter and I didn’t see them return. Eventhough, It’s a good facility I will not return due to this sketchy individual.
- 5/5
Friendly lady at front desk. Had my room ready as soon as we walked in. Loved the property and pool! Close to many things in Manitou Springs.
- 5/5
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable! And the staff is very friendly!
- 5/5
Decent price for as close as it is to Manitou Springs (100 yards). Several either vacated or unmanaged properties nearby.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 4/5
When they behaved the rooms they could have provided new bath towels. I rate a place by the shower and the shower was good but the skimpy towels brought down my rating
- 5/5
깨끗하고 수영장이 훌륭합니다. 간단한 조식도 제공되어서 좋았어요
- 5/5
The sweet rolls were delicious
- 5/5
Loved the pool! Kind people at check in.
- 5/5
We were comfortable and the room was cool. They brought clean towels daily and emptied the trash. If I had a broom I would have swept the floors and if I had a brush i would have cleaned the toilet. Overall for the price we were very happy with our stay.
- 5/5
The owner/manager was very courteous despite us showing up later than expected due to a delayed flight. The room was quite comfortable and had a very nice little kitchen area complete with dishes and full fridge/freezer plus oven and microwave if needed. It was the PERFECT distance from just about everything in the area and so easy to access! You won’t regret an extended stay here!

Loved the old school motel splendor

Very nice cabins, and pool.
- 4/5
This is the second time I have stayed here and was just as pleased as the first. It is an older property, but clean, and has comfortable beds. I would recommend staying here.
- 4/5
Parking was very difficult to get to for our room
- 4/5
Friendly staff, nice pool, good sized room. It's a unique place for sure. It's a little dated, but didn't bother us. Bed was ok, but I like more pillow top then firm. I'd stay again.
- 4/5
Nice location ,good service!
- 5/5
Charming property and very nice hosts. The location was super convenient for our trip. All the staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was as described and clean.

It was an ok place . A little dated but seem to be working on renovating. Surrounding neighborhood a little sketchy.
