Reviews
Guests generally enjoy their stay at the hotel, praising the cleanliness, comfort, and friendly staff. However, many express frustration with the high cost of parking and the lack of free breakfast. Some also mention issues with noise and outdated rooms.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- High cost of parking
- No free breakfast
- 4/5
Very clean and convenient, but a little dated and the parking payment was a little confusing.
- 4/5
This is our family’s go to and It was a nice stay as always. Ask for a room in the second building if available. The restaurant is consistently good with excellent service. We had happy hour and breakfast. The pool and gym are great too!

Pictures look much better than the real thing...

Wonderful hotel with very nice and comfortable rooms, excellent service and great amenities and location. No complaints about the property
- 3/5
The hotel is older but well maintained. Room showed wear. Nice patio area separate from pool. Parking fee at this hotel is ridiculous. Friendly staff. Average bed and linens.

Classy and charming My room was located next to the outdoor seating of the restaurant. Towards the early evening and evening conversations going on with echo into our room. It was pretty pronounced. It woke us up a few times around 11:30 to 1am midnight. I did notice our entry door has a gap which is probably contributing to interior noise. Perhaps adding some signage (“after hours quiet zone”) around the garden area and hallways could be helpful in the future.
- 4/5
Good proximity to airport and freeways. The room was larger than anticipated, and didn’t hear the airplanes. Not a lot of restaurants in walking distance.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Service is always great, housekeeping always maintains cleaning the room, pricing for staying at the hotel is reasonable, and there is nearby restaurants or fast food available.
- 3.5/5
I did not have any breakfast in the hotel but I did pick up a scone in one of the morning. It is very tasty The first room had funny snoring sound so they moved me to another room
- 4.5/5
The place is clean Parking is hard to find when getting in late.
- 5/5
Shuttle to the SNA and proximity was a great plus. The restaurant and bar at the hotel were a nice bonus with a very whimsical courtyard. Clean and large rooms.
- 4/5
We loved having breakfast on the patio courtyard! The noisy airplanes in the morning

Rooms were clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable (if you like a soft bed). The AC worked great (my husband likes it chilly). Small things that I’ve noticed not all hotels do now is that there was an ice machine available near the elevator and an extra pillow in the closet. I was surprised in recent stays at other hotels that there was no ice machine available and I have had to ask for an extra pillow. We will stay here at The Ayres in Costa Mesa again.
- 4.5/5
Friendly staff, convenient restaurant and the location It was a bit noisy having a room near the pool
- 2/5
We probably will not be returning again. I can remember when it was family owned and much pride was taken to maintain the Hotel(s). What a shame.
- 4/5
I took off one star because the hotel charges $25 per night for parking while there's plentiful free parking in the strip mall next door and on the street. This is a money grab that is a little deceitful.
- 5/5
It was good
- 5/5
👍
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room at a very reasonable price.
- 5/5
Everything!! It’s a beautiful location! Gardens, pool, the rooms have living rooms, there’s 2 tvs and 2 thermostats. I can’t wait to go back and take my babies with me. My loud neighbors lol, not the hotels fault at all!

I’ve never stayed in a Ayres hotel before. Very nice. Unfortunate we only stayed over night so didn’t experience dinner, breakfast nor pool. Very nice courtyard. Bed comfortable and room very clean & up to date. Need to pay $24 for parking in a regular parking lot. Not secured by fence or anything.
- 2.5/5
Elevator didn't work lots of reno at property not good access and charged for parking at non premium location
- 5/5
Very nice Hotel. Room clean and staff very nice.

Very bad customer service, not recommended at all
- 5/5
Everything was great. Very clean and comfortable. We missed the free breakfast offered at other Ayres properties. Our favorite hotel chain.

I like swimming pool but no microwave in mu room
- 5/5
My family of 8 stayed in two rooms. It was nice and everything was kept very clean. We enjoyed the pool and the restaurant there. The staff was very friendly. We recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Great
- 2/5
We were planning to continue finish our swim and grab lunch at the restaurant. We would have consumed 150+ dollars extra if the customer service would’ve been more polite regarding checking out and using the facilities, eating a a late lunch etc .
- 4/5
But it’s not really that big of a deal. The rooms are spacious. My 3rd stay so far
- 5/5
This is a unicorn hotel. Right price. Right place. Right condition.
- 5/5
I liked that they had microwaves where the ice machine was on our floor it made it convenient for warming up leftovers. The staff was great and it was so cozy. I definitely am gonna stay there again when I come to visit.
- 5/5
Its restaurant has a very nice unique view. It took a while for water get warm to take shower but overall it is good place to stay. Every morning the chef brings very delicious cookies. They are very good with their morning free coffee.
- 3/5
It feels like a museum. Very close to airport so frequent jet noise.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean all the workers are nice
- 5/5
Loved it all!
- 5/5
Had a wonderful stay at Ayres Hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. The rooms were spacious, quiet, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and convenient, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing.
- 4/5
It was nice

- 4/5
This is a nice hotel. Only issues i jad is when we checked in got to the room it was still being cleaned. And we went to the pool and they were out of towels. Other than that this is a great place to saty.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
The beds are a little noisy and so is the plumbing from other neighbors which wakes you up if you’re sleeping but if that doesn’t bother you much then you’re okay.
- 5/5
Beautiful and delightful
- 3/5
We stay at this hotel every year because it's clean and close to where we want to be without paying the crazy high prices of being right on the ocean. This gets us close enough. It really does bother me that there is a charge for parking. Not everything had to be a price gouge. It's just annoying.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent , great customer service
- 5/5
Belle endroit très propre, le restaurant n'est pas trop cher et excellent ( gouter au sandwich '' monté cristo '' ). Le personnels est serviable avec le sourire.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Love this property and have stayed many times. Seemed like the best bang for you buck in the area. But they now charge $24 a night for parking. (Sigh)
- 5/5
Spotless property, excellent amenities, excellent staff. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
Parking is extra. Was $25 a night this trip and I think $30 a night the previous trip.
- 5/5
Staff was so friendly, every effort was made to make our stay comfortable.
- 4/5
Nice location, but hearing planes take off kinda sucked, but it was an enjoyable place.
- 5/5
Beautiful setting with an awesome on site resteraunt. Great food and drink at reasonable prices.
- 5/5
I booked a room for my mom who came from out of state for a six day stay. The location was great. The property was clean quiet and safe. This will definitely be her go to spot to stay at when she’s in town.
- 5/5
We had a nice stay
- 5/5
I could live here. The routine of waking up and having coffee and breakfast in the courtyard makes you feel like you’re in another country. Perfection
- 3/5
This is our third stay at an Ayres property, this location wasn’t as modern, clean, or welcoming the one in Lake Forest. We stayed in the ‘suites’ building, which may be more dated than the main building. Everything felt old and ready for a refresh-including the carpet, heavy velvet drapes and slippery jacuzzi tub/shower. Road, upper floor and airport noise was notable in our room. Bed was okay, king suite was huge, but really a waste of space. Staff was fine-not super welcoming, perhaps because I booked with Expedia? I would try a different hotel if I find myself back in the area again.
- 5/5
I've never stayed here before or even heard of it but I am very glad that I found it. In the past when I've traveled I like to stayed in sone pretty nice rooms and these would definitely be on the shirt list based on the cleanliness, grounds & building maintenance and the amazing staff that works there and does such a great job. Every staff member that I came across spoke to me and were very pleasant to deal with from desk staff to just staff walking the property. As a former building inspector I was pleased with everything that I saw. The restaurant has some really good food and a nice happy hour as well. The layout and desgn of this particular property utilizing the natural terrain that it sets on was so very well done. Great job to the company and to the staff that makes the company. If you pass this place up I think you'll regret, but if you visit it while in the area I'm sure you'll select it next time you visit the area. Happy stays & Enjoy Life
- 4/5
It’s fine. No real complaints other than personal preference
- 5/5
❤️❤️❤️
- 4/5
Over all, I look forward to returning
- 5/5
The Ayres Hotel is apleasant place to spend a night or two. I ejoyed Happy Hour and breakfast on the patio. The hotel is close to theOC fairgrounds.
- 4/5
Good hotel. well taken care of and beautiful! Restaurant is amazing and the garden courtyard is fantastic.
- 4/5
The resort was amazing upon check-in. I was greeted with friendly staff and even when I got up early, I was greeted with good morning I would be back thank you.
- 3/5
That said, the housekeeping staff was really kind and lovely, the restaurant staff was awesome! It was literally just the check-in desk where I didn’t feel super welcome. But aside from that, overall, it’s a good price for a decent place :)
- 5/5
We stay here when we go visit my grandson at college and it’s close and a quiet and clean place to stay.
- 5/5
Great place to stay staff is really nice and always willing to help. Should clarify on paying for parking accidentally paid twice since you can pay at the desk and through the phone. Was able to get it quickly resolved though. Room was nice and clean when we got there.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The pool area is very nice. The only thing was that our room was a little stuffy but turning on the AC and opening the window helped.
- 1/5
Front desk staff short girl long Black hair Ride and not helpful ,
- 2/5
Not the nicest hotel
- 5/5
No complaints. Enjoyed my stay
- 1/5
My first room smelled very bad and moved to a second room and it had a chemical smells and made it made me feel like burning on my lungs I asked to be moved and they allowed me to move the third room had loud noises coming out of the toilet and the AC unit was making us sneeze a lot, we had a hard time staying asleep due to the AC unit probably dirty air ducts. Glad I we only stayed there for 2 nights. Do not recommend this property.
- 4/5
1) The pillows were too soft. Firm pillows would have made it more comfortable for us. 2) The location was near an airport & noise from flights was disturbing. If the windows were more sound-proof, our experience would have been even better.
- 5/5
The food was fresh and tasty. The hotel was a bargain for the price. Overall an excellent experience.
- 5/5
Very nice property, very close to the airport. The restaurant on the property had excellent food with exceptional service. Highy recommend this place.
- 5/5
They have two pools, hot tub, fitness room(s), jetted bathtub in room, comfortable bed, the restaurant is good, staff is nice, you do have to pay for parking but it’s reasonable compared with many other places. I recommend it.
- 5/5
Regarding the rooms, I liked the building with the gym. The "regular King Suite" in the building where the front desk is, was smaller than the pictures and a found it stuffy. However, the front desk was very accommodating and made sure we got into a room we were comfortable in. That was a double queen room in the next building. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, refrigerator, microwave and a sink to do dishes. It really met our needs on this trip.
- 5/5
Very nice and cozy hotel. Good quality restaurant
- 5/5
Very nice!
- 5/5
Did not eat breakfast there
- 5/5
Well maintained property, Good location and a professional staff.
- 5/5
Very comfortable rooms, excellent restaurant on site and a very reasonable price.
- 5/5
Love the courtyard with happy hour!
- 5/5
fruit and yogurt was exceptional-egg dishes average, prices very reasonable
- 2/5
Not great: I believe this hotel has severe mold issues. The restaurant smells really bad (I mentioned it to one of the staff) as I’ve lived through mold issues. The room I was in, smelled worse. The ac unit was broken and made a very loud sound the whole night (I showed the front desk staff the video to which they were apologetic). My shower had someone else’s hair on the walls- it wasn’t clean. I told the front desk about it as well- they responded with apologies. I wasn’t looking to receive anything, I just wanted them to know. I feel their responses were appropriate and caring. There is a woman who works the mornings at the restaurant- she was very rude to me. My oatmeal that I ordered was watery- she didn’t offer to take the charge off. She just asked if I wanted something else (not to replace it or exchange it) but something else to order. I didn’t want a sky high bill, I said no. She still charged me though I hadn’t eaten one bite. I ordered an omelette on second thought as I was hungry. When the check came, I asked for $6.00 off (the price of my oatmeal) to be deducted. She rudely said, “that’s why I asked you” and stormed off. It made me sad honestly. I felt like it was personal and non caring. The overall experience was just subpar- the front desk staff’s professionalism and the view of the courtyard were the good.
- 5/5
Good stay
- 5/5
We had an amazing experience. The staff is what made it great. We had a hiccup with the room and Leslie helped us out. Reilly was super helpful and got us an extra blanket and pillow. The gentlemen in the restaurant/bar were welcoming, efficient and friendly. Great happy hour! We were always greeted in the lobby when we went through. Loved it here!
- 5/5
Very clean, big room. Very quiet in room with doors closed, could barely hear the outside.
- 5/5
The Ayres group has consistently done an excellent job and provided excellent accommodations. I've stayed at multiple locations, all of which were great.
- 5/5
Very clean. Bed was comfortable. My only complaint is that all of the pillows were down, and they gave me a sore throat due to allergies.
- 5/5
A great stay with quiet vibe. The restaurant should not be overlooked! Every interaction with the staff was really great.
- 5/5
Initially I had picked a “regular” king size suite. This room was in the older building. It was small and stuffy. I went to the front desk and Rachel was gracious and accommodating. I upgraded for $20 more a night and got a double bed room in the remodeled building. I really enjoyed our stay. The have a great happy hour at the on site restaurant!
- 5/5
2nd time staying here and will be back.
- 5/5
Nice quiet place
- 3/5
Needs updating overall. Nothing great about this place for the price I paid.
- 5/5
Always a comfortable and pleasant stay. Feels like home.
- 4/5
The patio has a great happy hour (I think it's a great OC secret) but be careful to ask what drinks are on the happy hour because they won't automatically tell you. I ordered a great Caprese salad and it was delicious but the flat bread on happy hour is a half order not the full size you get ordering at dinner. Still very delicious. I was incredibly surprised that they don't serve lattes. I think this would be an upgrade worth considering especially as they have a bistro style and latte machines are easy. They do serve Prosecco and that is a win. The indoor restaurant is also great with a good full menu. Wandered over to the cute pool area and all the tables were a mess with food crumbs so could've used better cleanup but was able to use the hot tub a couple of times without issue or crowds. Staff was very nice, especially on the patio.
- 5/5
we fell in love with the place. so calm so peaceful! my friend and I has an awesome stay! we went to the restaurant there and the server was so nice to us i don't remember his name but he was such a welcoming person! THANK YOU
- 5/5
My only complaint would be the bed could be upgraded .
- 5/5
Im definitely coming back. Very relaxing place.
- 5/5
Close to the airport, nice room. Too bad about a $24 parking fee.
- 4/5
Staff and service very good. Hotel had good facilities and was in good shape. Only thing that was really annoying was the parking fee, I get it if you're in the middle of a city you have to keep spaces for the residents, but this isn't the case with this location,.
- 5/5
One of the cleanest hotels I’ve been to in SoCal. Stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect for what we needed. Beds are very comfortable, no weird smells, pretty affordable considering cleanliness and size of room, and parking is not free but they do have security. If you read reviews you’ll know it is not a surprise 24$ fee. The shower is an IQ test so if you complain about it that’s on you dude.
- 5/5
Arranged for family to stay here while they were visiting and the staff was incredibly helpful and made it so easy
- 4/5
Love the place. It has such a charm to it. The only problem was a a strong room smell of old carpet and cleaning product. Glad the room was clean but had to air out before fully settling in
- 5/5
Honestly, one of the best stays we’ve had, staff supper nice , check in was a breeze. I don’t mind the 15-20 min drive to the beach, I’ll stay here with my family for all our future visits to this place.
- 5/5
Nice but needs some redo
- 5/5
Very comfortable. Super clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Easy transition from/to the airport with the hotel shuttle. Enjoyed my weekend break here.

Great staff
- 4/5
We came here from just staying at another Ayres in Moreno Valley. Immediately upon arriving we noticed that the staff was not friendly.. Both at the front desk and in their hotel restaurant. When we arrived, I tried to check us in but realized the booking reservation was under my husbands name, I called him in and the front desk staff then turned directly to my husband, with me beside him and told him “since the booking is in your name, only you are permitted to ask questions or request any keycards.” As if she hadn’t been speaking with me at all, like I wasn’t even standing there..? Not sure why this approach was taken but we were shocked. No issues and no comments made on our end. We just ignored it. The previous Ayres had breakfast included and we had mistakenly assumed this one did, too. When searching for the breakfast spot, the staff seemed annoyed and told us to sit wherever we wanted, standing around until we chose a seat.. When we received our menus we realized that we probably misread the booking amenities and asked for a few minutes to ourselves. The gentleman proceeded to stand over my husbands shoulder and look at his phone, once I asked for what was probably the 5th time, he left and got one of his female colleagues who came over and said “so, are you guys ready? Or..” Again, very nicely we responded “we just need a few minutes to look through.” To which she responded sarcastically “Ok, yes ma’am!” … very strange treatment here. Maybe a bad day for them??

Great stay!
- 5/5
Clean room. Quick housekeeping response. Great hotel!
- 5/5
This is a wonderful place to stay and has a great restaurant and happy hour. Can’t wait to go back!

- 5/5
great hotel . excellent hidden hotel . close to john wayne airport an newport beach . great restaurant. awesome pool an hot tub.
- 5/5
Close to the airport. Love the cafe on site. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Was great!
- 5/5
Clean room, beautiful grounds
- 5/5
For a hotel near the airport it was pretty quiet. We had the patio suite and honestly we are happy we booked it. It’s spacious, clean and so comfortable. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub but the only thing is the hot water did not really work. Took cold showers during our stay. The hotel has a little restaurant and highly recommended, they offer room service for a $5 delivery fee, and the food was so good. Highly recommended this place.
- 4/5
The property is old, but kept clean. The parking is a little confusing though, as they use those QR code parking system. I asked the front desk lady to email me a copy of the parking charge which I never received.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean. For just a overnight stay it good. However, you can hear the planes overhead. I would not stay here if it was a longer stay, due to the plane noise.
- 5/5
Beautiful decorations, amazing gym, free parking, clean pool. AC worked great! Will stay here again.
- 5/5
The room was clean, staff was pleasant.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Nice place. A bit outdates but nice. The airport is very close to the hotel so it gets pretty noisy sometimes. But overall, this is a nice hotel. Parking is overpriced though.
- 4/5
Quiet and relaxing.
- 5/5
Great location and super clean and friendly staff
- 5/5
Very clean place.
- 5/5
The hotel is very nice. And the room was very clean and comfortable. I’m gonna come back definitely. ❤️😊✨🫶🏼
- 5/5
The area was very clean and felt safe. Our room was located right in front of the pull. I like how the rooms are set up. Very cute outdoor seating area. Rooms were clean.

Yes
- 5/5
Pool area was clean and water was warm. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and well stocked.
- 5/5
Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Great food at the restaurant. Shuttle to and from airport great!
- 4/5
Ok for the price
- 5/5
No free breakfast, but the hotel offered a breakfast which was very fresh and tasty.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly. Dog friendly, even gave a couple of dog treats!
- 4/5
Staff was great, outdoor seating area was so charming, pool area was nice but we didn't go in. Beds were comfortable. We loved the dining options steps from the hotel, including the Chinese place next door to the 7 Eleven and the Mediterranean place on the other side of Santa Ana ave. We didn't try the on site restaurant, the prices seemed high. I really appreciated the filtered water in the lobby and complimentary coffee. Great price, great experience! I think I have a new favorite spot in Costa Mesa now! I'll be back! Thanks 👍
- 5/5
The hotel is actually two hotel buildings (I am assuming they bought out a neighboring property sometime in the past). We stayed in the building adjacent to the main hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and very quiet (I stay in many hotels for work and have a lot of experience to compare). The parking fee of $24 (currently) seemed excessive. But I was aware of this when I booked and would still stay here again. I did not eat at the hotel so can't comment on this. Overall nice stay.
- 5/5
Quiet ,clean and the staff were great.
- 5/5
Comfortable rooms
- 4/5
Room was very spacious
- 5/5
Breakfast and dinner was ok.
- 5/5
Unique style and accomodations
- 5/5
Excellent staff and cleaning crew.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were delightful while efficient. My room was clean, roomy, amenities I enjoyed. Beautiful common areas to relax. I would recommend it!
- 5/5
Very clean and well-kept business hotel near the airport. Rooms were clean and well-appointed. There was a nice pool/courtyard area, although we didn't go.
- 5/5
This was a cute hotel it had a comfortable setting and was quiet. It was definitely overpriced. I would have stayed longer. If it wasn’t the price that I had paid. Staff was nice. The parking was unreasonable at $25 a night per vehicle when we had three cars other than that it was a nice place.
- 5/5
Staff nice
- 2/5
Under construction and noisy. Does NOT look like the photos. Dated. They don’t even give you water.
- 5/5
Great front desk, house keeping and restaurant/room see staff. Really enjoyed how simple everything was.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice pools, felt High end luxurious
- 4/5
Clean room. Nice lobby to hang out in and read a book.
- 3/5
The pool area was extremely loud! Children playing, making a lot of noise, way more noise than you’d expect for a hotel. Guest services was called but no one ever rectified the matter.
- 5/5
Always a good stay
- 5/5
Loved the jr suite w/nice lg countertops, comfortable beds and very good shower/tub. We also enjoyed the pool & hottub, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
I really love the quality of the amenities here, especially for the price. The restaurant, pool, lobby, are all very nice and enjoyable. The room, especially the bathroom is a very nice upgrade over most hotels at this price point. 4 star hotel at the price of a 3 star, even some 2 star hotels!!! A steal!
- 2/5
This is a good hotel in a good area with everything working in its favor except for one thing: the carpet in the room was so filthy that the bottom of our feet and socks were black, BLACK, from just a few minutes of walking on it. And we have a child who like rolling around on the carpet. Yuck!!!
- 5/5
I enjoyed this hotel a great deal. The Temp. Very nice. There was a strange odor outside the hotel that smelled like garbage and I don’t know where it came from.
- 5/5
We will stay here again next time we are in town
- 5/5
Stumbled onto this hotel when our flight was canceled and we were unable to fly out until the next morning. Our trip was originally just a fly in and out in a day so we had nothing with us. The hotel staff was very friendly and they provided use with basic toiletries including toothbrushes, toothpaste and combs. We were only there for the evening but from what we saw the property was nice and our room was clean and comfortable. They also run a shuttle to the airport so we were able to easily return the next morning. This staff and the service provided made our difficult situation better. I would definitely consider staying there in the future and recommend this property to others.
- 5/5
The restaurant staff were excellent the check in staff were great not all were friendly. The woman who checked me in was helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
I like to stay here when visiting my son at college. It’s clean, nice staff. Fun & cute little bistro with a water fountain outside.
- 5/5
The room was clean, and the staff was great
- 5/5
It’s a nice property very clean and quaint good food love the courtyard
- 1/5
Staff never look at
- 3/5
The room was fine. Staff was friendly. We chose this hotel because it was pet-friendly, but had no idea about the $75/night pet charge (we have a small dog) or the policy that you cannot leave your pet alone in the room for even 5 minutes. This was annoying and inconvenient and it would have been nice to know this at the time of making the reservation. Once you arrive you cannot really cancel and make new plans.
- 5/5
Clean , great staff
- 5/5
The room was super clean and nice size room. The food was excellent the bartender was awesome. In house jacuzzi was great.
- 5/5
Great room!) Easy check-in and out
- 5/5
The hotel is simple yet elegant, and the decor reminds me of a castle in Disneyland, in a good way. The outdoor courtyard is a very nice place for food and drinks or just to sit and relax. They have a shuttle to take you to and from the airport, and we were able to use it to take us to dinner. Staff is very friendly and the room was very comfortable. They also have bikes for rent, so we were able to ride bikes to the Newport Bay Ecological Reserve.
- 5/5
The staff does their best to make you feel like a valued guest. Cookies for guests upon their arrival & muffins & scones upon morning checkout. The rooms have a sense of home with tasteful, yet elevated decor.
- 5/5
Great spacious room and very clean
- 5/5
The room was spotless and the staff were great
- 5/5
all
- 4/5
The room was clean and staff helpful. The hotel is two buildings with frontdesk across the parking lot, which was not convenient @ 10:00pm and needed medicine from the little convenience shop, but overall a nice place to sleep
- 5/5
Great location for our needs!
- 5/5
Wish you didn't pay $25 for parking, but would definitely go back.
- 5/5
The staff was welcoming. The room was clean. We enjoyed every minute of all the amenities took advantage of the hot tub and pool, which was great not to mention room service was so fast and delicious.
- 5/5
Very nice accommodations! Our stay was very short, but wish we could have stayed longer. Our room overlooked a beautiful courtyard.
- 5/5
Nice room, secure facility, parking charges start at 10pm so day parking and guest are free. Suites are in a separate building with it's own pool and hot tub. Rooms are spacious and quiet, Staff is super friendly and the restaurant food is amazing.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay and found all staff to be helpful. We had a lovely leisurely breakfast in the restaurant, and enjoyed the pool. We were in town for personal business, and were glad to relax at the hotel as part of the weekend. We paid an extra $30 for a late check out Sunday which allowed us more time to visit with friends. Saturday night and early Sunday seemed to be a busier schedule at the airport, so we were awakened a bit by the planes. Friday night we didn't really notice. Our room rate was good, so we were happy overall. It was convenient and affordable.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice pool
- 5/5
We had a great stay for our one night. The hotel staff was friendly and check in and out was very easy. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
That pool and jacuzzi area is pristine! We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant, which also features a beautiful courtyard style
- 5/5
Great staff great placw
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel.
- 4/5
Everything was nice. What frustrates me was the price said Fees included. I was charged $25.00 a night for parking. It’s not that I can’t afford that, it’s the principle. Add that to the cost of the room, then say fees included. It ruined my day. Don’t say fees included if they are not.
- 5/5
Room was cleaned. The room was a nice and cute space!
- 5/5
Good sized room. Clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
My husband and stayed here for a Valentine’s staycation. The restaurant was amazing. The room was perfect. We would stay again.
- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
Clean room and nice patio, very private.
- 5/5
The room was really clean, which I appreciated. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the property. The building and decor felt unique to the area, and there were beautiful courtyard and pool areas. They also served cookies at the front desk in the evening and muffins in the morning.
- 3/5
The hotel itself is gorgeous! Loved the architecture and the atmosphere, the room was pretty standard - nothing special. For the price it wasn’t AWFUL but I wouldn’t stay there again. The humidity in the room was SO bad it felt dewy/musty/thick and theA/C was garbage, it was hardly running even with the temperature low and the fan on “constant”, so that didn’t help. The fan in the shower also didn’t do anything. It turned on/made noise but there was fog on the mirror for 2 hours after my shower was taken…that was WITH the door open…goes to show how humid it was in the room itself as well. Not to mention there were water droplet on the ceiling of the bathroom because of the conditions. The airport shuttle was nice and convenient though.
- 4/5
Great basic hotel with decent in hotel restaurant. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, the room was clean, the architecture was beautiful, and the holiday decor was thoughtfully styled
- 5/5
Rooms were very clean, front desk and staff were amazing.
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious. We had a patio which a nice addition. Overall, nice hotel.
- 5/5
Such a quite place. Bedroom and bathroom were amazing
- 5/5
Room was spotless, our floor was quiet shower was clean had no issues whatsoever checking in was simple and quick.
- 3/5
AC was loud, carpet was old and grey
- 5/5
Everything went well.
- 3/5
Staff and room and the double charging.
- 5/5
Cleaning service.
- 5/5
excellent customer service and accommodations
- 5/5
Always a pleasure to stay here.
- 5/5
Great rooms, very clean hotel, great facilities.
- 5/5
Always the best experience here! Love the airport shuttle, especially John (driver), the hospitality and cleanliness of the entire hotel.
- 5/5
Clean room staff is great. Amenities is also good.
- 1/5
The room wasn’t clean and there were cockroaches in the bathroom!!
- 5/5
yes
- 5/5
they accommodated us
- 4/5
Clean, amenities
- 5/5
It was a great find
- 5/5
Room was neat and well stocked, the staff was friendly and there were plenty of folks at the front desk. The restaurant was awesome - great food, variety, service 5-star, prices fair. Will return soon!
- 1/5
The room at this hotel feels outdated and poorly maintained. I was unable to get a good night’s sleep on the sofa bed—it is very worn, and you can feel the springs through the mattress. The bathroom was also disappointing, with visible mold in the tub and overall cleanliness issues. Additionally, there is a $24 parking fee that was not disclosed until check-in, which felt like a hidden charge. We stayed in room 206.
- 3/5
Rooms were clean, definitely had an outdated elderly looking vibe to ir
- 5/5
Clean room, luxurious feeling, great staff, nice restaurant with great food.
- 5/5
Nice, quiet property
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 5/5
Room was clean. Staff was professional. Parking is expensive. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean, great staff, nice pool, free airport shuttle. And close to the nature preserve.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Nice atmosphere. Great staff. Clean room. Hot tub and heated pool. Restaurant on site was good. Food and coffee nearby. Gym was well equipped. Would stay again.
- 3/5
The rooms were not being cleaned during our stay which seems to be degrading the property
- 3/5
The pictures make the room look way better the room needs a bit updating it’s about 20 years outdated, the AC wouldn’t shut off half the time and was freezing, the fridge in the room wouldn’t get cold, the tub jets didn’t work, they advertise a small snack store which was under construction I guess, the restaurant prices are outrageous and they don’t tell you until you get there but parking is like $25 a night. Even the gym was outdated and sucked. It was very underwhelming. The best part was the cleaning staff are super nice and on top of things, they clean that room superbly but beyond that it was subpar.
- 5/5
Excellent value!
- 5/5
Clean room, and staff was very friendly!
- 5/5
The place was amazing. Clean and luxurious. Great restaurant!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
clean room. nice staff. wonderful hot tub and restaurant. easy parking
- 4/5
Good staff
- 5/5
We arrived 2hrs earlier than check in time but a staff kindly let us check in. Amenities were ok. Wish they had some weights in the exercise room. Good location. Very close to Airport. Overall pleasant stay.
- 5/5
the bathroom counter was very low, it helped me correct my posture. the curtains did not close all the way so second set lets the light in helps wake me up. hot tub was nice, the jet stream seems to drop the temperature a bit. i like how there is a side entrance for guests and there is a side rear exit that leads to the rear parking.
- 5/5
This is my second time staying here. I love it! Is my favorite hotel in this area ❤️
- 5/5
Great room, great location, wonderful service, it was a level above! We will definitely choose this again.
- 5/5
Rooms are clean and well maintained
- 5/5
Clean large room. Very convenient.
- 1/5
It's a gamble when you stay here. There is mold in the rooms or at least some of them, stuffy and musty. If you have allergies or astt you will not sleep well. The rooms are out date and the lobby over done with decorations that really are too much. No breakfast 24.00 for parking per night. No coffee offer all day as a complementary. I will not be staying here again. I liked the area for the dining and restaurants. If you get a good room you may like it, but it's a gamble.😞
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and the room was clean. The location was convenient and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again!
- 5/5
Great hotel. Great value
- 4/5
The check-in was fine, quick and easy The room was clean, comfortable and very spacious, although I felt the furnishings were very dated
- 2/5
Not friendly stuff
- 5/5
I would 100% stay at this hotel again. The rooms are very large, the bed is comfortable, and everything was exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the hotel offered all the amenities you need for the price. I travel frequently for work and stay in hotels across the United States and abroad, and I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for under $150.
- 1/5
Front desk was no help and I checked out on the 17th and it is the 22nd and I have still not received my deposit back. It took you less than 30 seconds to put a $125 hold, for the deposit. But, it has taken over 5 days to release it? I also asked, to be sure, there were no issues with the room when I checked out.
- 5/5
It was a great experience and everything was perfect! The room was lovely, the bed was super comfortable, the amenities were also very nice! I love the beautiful patio and restaurant. The front desk people were friendly, professional and helpful!
- 2/5
YOU SHOULD NOT HIRE PEOPLE LIKE THAT, would never that there again.
- 5/5
amazing
- 5/5
M the staff is very nice and the rooms are always clean
- 4/5
This time it was good
- 3/5
The room was in good condition. However, we were placed next door to a screaming baby. Our sleep was interrupted several times throughout our stay.
- 5/5
Everything was as expected, which is great! I was especially pleased with the restaurant offerings. Their Monte Cristo was the best I’ve had. Shuttle to the airport was spot on.
- 5/5
The Ayer’s Hotel was a clean well run hotel conveniently located in the Costa Mesa/Irvine area. The staff was friendly and professional. Our room was cleaned everyday. The hotel amenities were very convenient.
- 5/5
Very clean and up to date
- 5/5
Would stay again
- 5/5
Friendly staff and great food!
- 5/5
Friendly and welcoming staff.
- 4/5
Next airport on the takeoff flight path
- 5/5
Staff was very nice. My room was very clean.
- 2/5
There was a cockroach in my room
- 5/5
The staff was very courteous. There was an issue with the fridge in my original room and they immediately moved me to another room. The room itself was clean. The one issue was paying for parking, which I don’t think is right. It was expensive and unnecessary, especially with the other fees and taxes added in on top of the room rate. The sticker shock is around $100 of taxes and fees, plus parking.
- 3/5
It was just an average experience wasn’t amazing wasn’t bad room and facilities seemed to be fine
- 4/5
It’s very clean, staff is super helpful. But parking has gotten super expensive.
- 5/5
yes
- 5/5
great location for the price. dissapointed about the free breakfast not being offered and the site not being updated with lack of service. A lot of the hotel was closed off due to remodeling so that was inconvenient.
- 5/5
The staff is professional and enthusiastic! The rooms are very clean and offers marble floors and sinks, The property is well maintained and the onsite restaurant is amazing!
- 5/5
Room is spotless and the staff is polite professional and courteous. Service in the bistro restaurant was also excellent! Good value and a comfortable feeling in the hotel common areas and private room.
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous. Good experience.
- 5/5
Riley is amazing
- 5/5
Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa is a beautiful hotel minutes from John Wayne Airport. The hotel has a beauty and charm that the larger chain airport hotels generally lack. Highly recommended.
- 1/5
Don’t even get me started on the carpet.
- 4/5
Very clean and the staff were attentive. Only concern is the amount of time it took to respond to the elevator malfunction.
- 5/5
Very accommodating for poets. Nice staff.
- 5/5
Great pool area and hot tub. Lots of restaurants within walking distance & easy access to freeways and airports. The plane noise is minimal and only happens until 10pm.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel for our wedding party. They even decorated for Christmas.
- 5/5
The gentleman that checked us in was wonderful, professional and made us feel so welcome. We had a last minute change over the holidays and decided to leave out of SNA instead of LAX. We booked and checked in that evening. Great location, close to the airport and complimentary shuttle service. Great find for us!
- 5/5
Staff friendly, room clean roomservice excellent
- 5/5
Easy check in. Clean room.
- 5/5
totally recommended
- 5/5
Great room and it was clean. Felt cozy and safe. Nice staff. Nothing too loud going on. Very pretty property overall with a nice restaurant and jacuzzi on it. We stayed during December, it was romantic. Fireplace wasn’t real but did the trick!
- 5/5
Outstanding
- 4/5
Not as clean as other hotels with the same name.
- 5/5
Great Service. Clean
- 5/5
Great place!
- 5/5
Nice place and great service. We stayed a couple of days and ate at the local Chateau restaurant a couple of times. Worked out at the gym one morning. Definitely a cool place. Oh but parking is $24 per night, that was a little shock. The restaurant staff Miguel and company were very nice. Also Rachel hotel staff was cool too.
- 3/5
Nice hotel. Front desk staff could be friendlier. Not to mention it would have been nice to know there was an elevator at the back of the hotel closer to my 3rd floor room.
- 5/5
Two AC units, one for the tv area, one for the bedroom. The hotel itself was immaculately clean and had a really nice big pool with lounge chairs, a covered cabana-like section. And there was also a big jacuzzi with a soft rooftop over it. Then there was the peaceful inner courtyard with a nice fountain. Yeah, loved it!
- 5/5
Always love to stay here
- 4/5
Staff was great; room was clean and I was really happy to see the hotel decorated for Christmas including a Nativity!
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff. Good food at hotel restaurant.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
I stayed for two nights and even though close to the airport, it was quiet. I felt the room and hotel was very nice and I would recommend as well as stay here again.
- 4/5
We’ve stayed here many times. It’s a first class property. The only down side was Jaqueline at reception. She doesn’t belong in the front of the house.
- 4/5
The furniture is dated but not uncomfortable. The breakfast and dinner food was good. I will never be happy with having to pay for parking though.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and efficient. The room was spotless and it was very quiet. This is why we keep coming back to stay here.
- 4/5
Convenient location and nice staff~I enjoyed my stay~
- 4/5
Convenient location; quiet
- 3/5
Check in was nice, staff was courteous. Bed was very uncomfortable and the floors were dirty in the room. Sticky and left a dirty residue on socks or bare feet. Gross!
- 5/5
The room was gorgeous! The staff was very friendly. I wish ya’ll had Netflix!!
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Everything is good!!
- 5/5
Everything in the hotel, including the room, was spotless. The staff was very accommodating and the decor was beautiful. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.
- 4/5
the hotel and amenities were nice, however the room was small
- 4/5
Staff was very courteous. Room was clean.
- 4/5
Service was great. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Worst part was that when I was getting ready for bed the linen was stained with what appeared to be dry blood. I called the front desk and they did took care of it right away.
- 3/5
The room had a smell like mold coming from the bathroom. Also charging customers with $24 parking fee per day is too much, specially since this was not lited anywhre during booking.
- 5/5
Bery clean and comfortable accommodations
- 5/5
The room was large & clean. The hotel has great character with wonderful furnishings. It felt like we were in a European hotel.
- 5/5
Courteous. Great facility.
- 4/5
Cleanliness of room
- 5/5
Great stay!!
- 5/5
We had a nice experience. Expedited check in. Clean, comfortable room. It was quiet and the service was friendly and efficient!
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff, nice Christmas decorations around the hotel. The restaurant is very good. They have two pools and two jacuzzis.
- 5/5
Great for letting me do early check ins.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with wonderful nautical decor. Spotless, with full restaurant on site (not those silly glorified snack bars that have become common at hotels and are called restaurants...this hotel has an actual nice restaurant). Have to pay extra for parking....I think it was $35 a night, so factor that in when comparing prices. Fun hot tub under a tent and nice pool. Overall great hotel....everyone is super nice.
- 2/5
Staff members were not friendly. They seemed like low level workers. The room is outdated. Felt like the carpet is so old. Had major allergies from the dust in the room. It was not a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Very clean room, staff is so helpful and kind. Check in was very easy. We love having breakfast and happy hour at the Ayres Hotel in Costa Mesa, they have a very nice courtyard that feel like you're in a Villa.
- 5/5
Good room
- 1/5
Hidden $24 parking fee for UNCOVERED, UNSECURED self parking. Not in all in room rate on website
- 5/5
Nice clean room. Comfortable bed, and nice ambiance!
- 5/5
Everything was awesome! I will definitely stay there again
- 5/5
Great value, large rooms and very convenient
- 5/5
Amazing rooms! Everything looked and felt so clean and comfortable! Staff was great! Would definitely recommend and stay again!
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
All amenities were thoughtfully laid out in their place. The staff was attentive and helpful. I didn’t like the $4 fee for bottled water. The bar was excellent with great happy hours treats.
- 1/5
Check in took over 30 minutes. Unexpected fees. Bed was hard. Ants in the shower. Only one elevator worked. Breakfast was not free. Very close to airport (planes constantly taking off). No side walks or grass to walk dogs.
- 5/5
I always enjoy staying at the years for its comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and elegant decor.
- 5/5
Great stay.
- 4/5
Windows in room were extremely hard to open!
- 5/5
Lovely stay! White, spotless and love the location!!!
- 4/5
In the morning we contacted the manager to explain what happened to see if we can get further first aid. We where exhausted from working the OC fair and asked to stay another night... not much was done for my son other than an apology. We expected maybe to get my son a tetanus shot because we were worried about the cut from the staple. They had us moved to another room because they were fully booked for the room we were just in. We felt uncomfortable with what happened and how they treated us.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
I thought the property was very nice, clean and pretty! Loved the proximity to work and the airport. Nice touch with the complimentary cookies each evening. Nice staff. Would stay there again.
- 4/5
If you have an option to book a newer room, don't hesitate!
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our fridge was not working and we called for help. The maintenance person responded quickly and soved the problem.
- 5/5
Moses Macias was pleasant and professional. When I mentioned my birthday, he gifted us with hotel water bottles, which was a nice gesture.
- 5/5
Shuttlle was excellent
- 5/5
The room was very clean. There was an issue with the first room that was out of the hotel's control, and they were more than willing to provide another room for me. The staff are kind and very helpful.
- 5/5
Thank you so much.
- 2/5
The first night after I removed the comforter I noticed red stain on the sheet ! It looked like blood stain ! I went to the front desk and explained and requested to change my room ! The person was rude to me and gave me attitude instead of saying any apology
- 5/5
All great
- 5/5
Very clean, friendly staff. I felt safe.
- 5/5
Convenient location and amenities!
- 5/5
Great stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly!
- 5/5
Very clean nice rooms. Friendly staff. My only gripe with this place is that it’s basically $25 a night for parking. Paid parking is ridiculous. Other than that really nice place to stay.
- 1/5
We arrived the room smelled like mold and my friend became ill after 30 minutes. The Hotel would not refund the money paid for this hotel.
- 5/5
The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very good to talk and work with, the only issue I had was the use of the TV and it not having a guide to select a show
- 5/5
Staff and facilities are top of the line.
- 1/5
Staff
- 5/5
100% would recommend! 💜
- 5/5
Will stay again. Good job Ayres. The front desk is more than amazing.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
The room was comfortable. Bathroom was updated nicely and clean. Lots of towels, bed was very comfortable and night was quiet. Property was beautiful. I sat by the pool which was sparkling. Totally enjoyed the bike and helmet. It was a positive stay and would go back again.
- 5/5
Everything thing was great but having to pay for parking was unexpected. The food in the restaurant was great and the rooms where spaces and very nice and clean
- 5/5
The room was great and the common spaces were beautiful. Highly recommended.
- 4/5
Hubby and I enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay again. Close to food, gas staions, and freeway.
- 4/5
The experience was enjoyable, profound family heritage. The salads were particularly tasty and we intend to return in the future. We express our gratitude and extend our wishes for your continued good health, happiness, prosperity, and the best of everything. Cheers.
- 5/5
Beautiful place
- 5/5
Nice and quiet. Housecleaning was excellent.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms
- 5/5
Yes and yes
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff, quiet
- 5/5
My stay there was perfect. Staff was helpful and I totally loved the courtyard!
- 5/5
Clean awesome room
- 3/5
Desk staff not particularly friendly. Room staff was friendly, as was waiter service. bathroom corners not clean.
- 5/5
Great staff, good location, clean, comfortable room..
- 4/5
Room was clean and very large. Staff was courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant to have good food and ver convenient. Would recommend it to others.
- 5/5
yes, on all points
- 4/5
Great amenities and staff was very kind.
- 5/5
Despite proximity to airport, room was very quiet. Also clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Very nice room, clean, comfortable, room service was great, really good food.
- 1/5
Then at 9:30pm last night we went to the jacuzzi and my foot fell into the jacuzzi drain cover injuring my foot. Luckily my foot isn’t broken. The jacuzzi drain cover was missing the inside plastic ring that it snaps into so this was clearly a preexisting problem that was not fixed properly You can contact the hotel to confirm the incident
- 5/5
Spotless! Staff was welcoming and helpful. It was a very relaxing environment. Highly recommend it!
- 5/5
Very clean and spacious rooms
- 5/5
Great location and staff were welcoming and kind.
- 3/5
Room was clean which was great , restroom could be better updated for the price we pay .
- 5/5
I stayed here for business. It is close to John Wayne airport and a short drive to Newport Beach. While the immediate area is not the best, you have access to many desirable areas. The restaurant is reasonable and the food is great. I had the burger and the short rib tacos. I did arrive around 1pm and the staff seemed a little bothered that I was trying to check in. He told me "people just checked out". I had to ask him if it was okay to hang out and I had to ask about access to the restaurant. I did not exactly feel welcome in that moment. But that was a minor set back. I then spent the next two hours eating and hanging out by the pool. Unfortunately no one was able to alert me when my room was ready and when I came back around 3 there was a huge line of people checking in ahead of me.
- 5/5
Great location, close to everything. Check in went smoothly. Room was clean spacious and very comfortable. Great overall experience. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff.
- 3/5
I had to wait 10 minutes to get checked in and I was tired from an overseas flight. Not really acceptable.
- 4/5
Almost no water pressure in restroom, barely came out the faucet.
- 5/5
They have a restaurant on site but I wasn't able to try it this time. I have stayed here before and I enjoy the in court jacuzzi but it wasn't available due to construction.
- 5/5
Love this little gem!
- 4/5
My only complaint is having to pay for parking
- 3/5
The place was run down, under contraction, and the service was not good. Beds were fine, but everything else was out dated and felt old. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere nicer.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 4/5
Old Property
- 5/5
Nice!
- 4/5
Thanks for a nice stay!
- 4/5
It has 2 pool and jacuzzi areas because of the 2 separate buildings. Convenient restaurant within the building and the food and service was excellent. Front desk staff was helpful and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay again. With several family members, we wanted to be all on the same floor but not possible because of the room choices. Construction going on so a little loud walking into lobby area. Didn't like that I had to pay for parking my rental car.
- 1/5
Horrible service if you want an overpriced bad hotel this is the place for you
- 4/5
25$ parking was crazy. There was no breakfast buffet
- 5/5
Comfy hotel
- 5/5
Convenient
- 1/5
Unfortunately my reservation was not refundable & I lost my money.
- 3/5
Hotel is old and smelly.
- 4/5
Rooms were pleasant and adequate for the price. It was really loud. Additionally cost for paying for parking is unnecessary. The lot isn’t even full and it’s not like it’s a crowded tourist area, so it’s just a money grab.
- 5/5
We stayed here for a family event. The pool in the main hotel was perfect for the children and it wasn’t too sunny. The hotel restaurant was great and had awesome options. The courtyard transported you back to Europe. When outside you definitely hear the plane but surprisingly inside the hotel you do not hear them at all. Great price for the area, close to the airport and a few minute drive down to the beach.
- 3/5
Needs serious update. Rooms and public spaces Smell musty, looks old.
- 3/5
Definitely clean room and hotel overall. Room did have a slightly musty smell to it but with the ac on it went away. Felt like visiting grandma’s house or something. Also, there is ongoing construction in the lobby with plastic sheeting taped down etc. Would have loved a dimmable lighting option in the room. Lighting is just all the way bright light on or off. Parking can be confusing as is the process of paying to park.
- 4/5
We stayed in a tower separate from the lobby which had significantly downgraded amenities. It was okay but probably won’t be back.
- 4/5
Room was ok. Got first floor room facing courtyards so could hear lots of talking outside of room. Room did not have a true thermostat. Restaurant was very good. Should not charge for parking, but they do.
- 5/5
Food was excellent. The location was great.
- 4/5
.
- 4/5
Rooms was nice but the had a musty smell.
- 5/5
Overall great hotel.
- 5/5
Well trained and friendly staff enhanced the experience
- 5/5
The hotel lobby was under construction, but we stayed in the other building so it didn’t bother us. You do hear the airplanes taking off starting at 7am, but it wasn’t too bad in our room.
- 5/5
Everything was awesome!
- 5/5
The lobby was under construction not to pleasant at all. Definitely not the inviting atmosphere im use to from other ayres hotels. But not they're fault just bad timing on my part. Outside of that it was nice comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice amenities, convenient parking, really nice place to stay
- 1/5
Hotel was under construction and was never my prior to arrival. Cherry pick in lobby. Floor taped up with paper.
- 5/5
This place is great but a disclaimer is to keep in mind that you have to pay 25 bucks for parking. So consider that when booking.
- 2/5
The hotel is under construction and it was not disclosed prior to arrival. The evening staff manager was unfriendly. The security was excellent though. There is a Taco Bell and a McDonald’s very close you can walk. Disappointing stay.
- 5/5
This is our place when we come to Orange County and I have reviewed before with joy. But let me tell you what we discovered this time. There was a huge wedding at the hotel when we were there. A dinner in the courtyard with LOUD music and lots of guests. Imagine my dismay when our room turned out to be RIGHT THERE. I mean, 15 feet away. BUT……omg, when we entered our room and closed the door……..quiet. Blissful, peaceful quiet. The party, I hear, went on into wee hours. But we heard nothing. And had a lovely , lovely night’s sleep.

Relaxing, private feel, while still convenient to the airport.

The bar is a library except the books are fake. Oh well, not going to dock the score for that though.
- 4/5
The customer service was great but I had to wait for a refund.
- 5/5
Great location, needs a little upgrading. Considering its location, could not justify a $25/night parking charge
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 3/5
The guest room was dated and dingy and smelled like "grandma's bathroom" according to my kids. I wouldn't bother with getting a room with a patio. It's enclosed with no view whatsoever. It's a traditional hotel if that is what you're looking for. Location was ok in an okay area. Right near airport so you can hear airplanes taking off at times. Value is okay. There is a daily parking fee and no breakfast included. There is a restaurant which was also okay as well. Service overall was satisfactory to good.

Beautiful pool and hot tub area outdoors. Very nice room. Kind staff. Felt safe and comfortable. Only downside was I could hear the people in the room next door.
- 5/5
Loved this place! It had so much character! We had breakfast both mornings and the restaurant on site, which was delicious. The gym was missing some equipment, but was sufficient.
- 5/5
Sushi next door is reported (by locals) to be the best in OC. Shops at the Ranch are excellent. Front desk and restaurant staff were great. Property was clean and comfortable - not luxurious, but a good value and nice atmosphere.

Nice property. We always enjoy our stay here. Parking is pricey.

This property was very convenient for our needs. Very clean and great staff.

Our stay was excellent except for the added parking fee. My friend and I met there, stayed in the same room, but because we both drove to the hotel, we paid an additional $50 for parking. We won’t stay there again, and will look for a hotel with free parking.
- 4/5
There’ wasn’t enough parking
- 5/5
Clean upscale hotel
- 4/5
We stayed there last minute to be close to somebody in Hoag hospital icu. Parking was expensive in my opinion I paid something like $70 for three days and they didn’t offer coffee in the lobby very long, had to pay at restaurant. Last minute morningI went down at 6:50 am and the front desk said they just removed it the other days. I guess I’d gotten down there earlier on other mornings to grab a cup of coffee. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and it was great service and really yummy food. Lovely location with the fountain and they’re outdoor patio. I would recommend eating there if you’re staying there prices oared as expected. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. We had everything we needed.

The mattress was horrible and the AC was inadequate at best, so I spent most of the night sweating as opposed to sleeping.
- 5/5
Will stay again
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff were friendly
- 3/5
Cons: Inadequate staff, no essentials (slippers, robe, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)
- 5/5
Stay hear every year and i love it! Great hospitality and very clean!
- 5/5
Transportation service was amazing. Chris and Riley are amazing. Everything here was absolutely everything we needed
- 5/5
Stay here every year and every time it’s clean and comfortable.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff
- 5/5
Staff are friendly, excellent service
- 4/5
Nice hotel, but my stay was marred by up charges: $25 to park my vehicle, $4 for a bottle of water ( I did not drink the water or incur the charge). Breakfast was ok, but arrived lukewarm.
- 4/5
It was a good stay however, I didn’t like paying $24 per night for parking
- 2/5
Hotel needs better windows, they know they are located near an airport, can hear planes all morning and evening. Parking was a rip off - charged for the day you arrive and didn't give full 24 hours for the overpriced fee. Won't be back
- 2/5
The air conditioning didn’t work well at all.
- 5/5
Everyone is so kind and professional and the rooms are incredibly nice and comfortable.

Across the highway from SNA and minutes from the pier. Great staff!
- 5/5
Would stay here again. Nice property location, friendly and accommodating staff.
- 5/5
This place was amazing. I stayed here for a conference. Very friendly staff, accessible location near John Wayne Airport. A must-stay for anyone in Orange County. The room was spotless, the decor was lovely and I felt extremely safe at all times.
- 5/5
A total surprise - this is a wonderful hotel and we will be coming back. The food was outstanding at the restaurant and the details, like the artwork in the hallways and lobby areas were impressive. Great pool area, workout room and check in was courteous and yummy (cookies).
- 4/5
Very unique looking hotel that was clean and well organized.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was amazing & very friendly. Stayed the weekend & the pool & jacuzzi. Had breakfast at their on-site restaurant & the food was delicious. Would stay again.
- 5/5
The hotel was so clean. The staff was very friendly. There was a designated spot for dogs to use. You MUST have breakfast at the bistro. The ambiance is amazing, the food was delicious. Must love airplanes ✈️

Good stay!
- 5/5
Good location, nice staff
- 4/5
This was my first time at this hotel, which is conveniently located near John Wayne Airport; the flip side of that is that the airplanes overhead can be quite loud. The hotel feels slightly dated, but is elegant and well maintained overall. I was surprised by the $24 overnight parking charge
- 5/5
Great place to stay, only issue is you cannot close the window curtains in the room, so you can't sleep in total darkness the way I like..
- 2/5
Charged me $96 for parking rented vehicle for just over 4 days. Was not told that when I booked it that parking my rented vehicle would cost me nearly $100. They blamed Hotels.com. Said it wasn't their problem. Also received a ticket/warning (don't know which) on my windshield as I was leaving. Not sure why. Won't be back

Great place to stay
- 5/5
The courtyard is beautiful. The pool area was really great for the price. We had some noisy "neighbors" right beside us. I called the front desk and they sent security right away. Location is perfect! If you're on a budget, this is good for the price.
- 3/5
Always check your room costs. 2 times now that check in has been messed up with charges
- 5/5
Clean, quiet
- 4/5
I was disappointed they now charge $24 a night for parking and that the breakfast is no longer free.
- 5/5
Booked it last minute without any issues and was very pleased.
- 4/5
Nice area, but the water pressure in shower needs improvement.
- 5/5
Easy check in
- 1/5
Very disappointing they charge $24nightly for parking and no complimentary breakfast like in other AYRES you get both complimentary for guests. Housekeeping knocking on your door at 8am to ask if you want room clean and they take forever to deliver additional Kleenex box to you. I had to call front desk after a 45 minute wait. The restaurant dessert was the smallest scoop of ice cream I’ve ever seen to go with the bread pudding. This place is a total RIPOFF!!! We will not ever stay there AGAIN!!!😡
- 5/5
Absolutely no complaints. Came for a wonderful and painless one night stay and it couldn't have been an easier experience. Lovely hotel (with great AC) in a nice area near convenience stores, fast dining, and close to a lot of fun things to do in the city and nearby in Irvine, etc. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
The restaurant was fantastic as well as the room.

Very expensive for what you get. Plus each car parking is additional 25 dollars, which is crazy. For the price I would definitely stay another hotel.
- 5/5
Beautiful quiet rooms!
- 5/5
Good for price, family owned hotel. Really clean and fresh. Wonderful designed lobby and common areas. Nice restaurant with two seating areas, inside and outside. Steak could be better.
- 1/5
My toilets over flowered twice and ruined a dress I had hanging and and maintenance was slow to come and I did not get any significant discount from management. Very disappointed.
- 2/5
First off I checked I payed for a junior suite and immediately felt the staff were giving very unwelcoming looks . Second I got to the room and there was an orange juice type of drink with a straw in the refrigerator which means the room wasn’t properly cleaned . Third the room was very loud I can hear doors slamming , voices outside the door and upstairs neighbors stomping in the morning also the balcony has very little privacy you can see straight through to the neighbors balcony . I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know .

Outstanding 10/10 in absolutely everything!!! excellent location super clean very friendly staff customer service above and beyond….
