No actual breakfast like they claim. We came in for the continental breakfast and there was a single tea bag. Two people sitting in the lounge eating a raw bagel and one banana. Rooms and halls were disgusting, smelled so bad we had to buy air fresheners and air purifiers. - you get what you pay for.

I told the staff when we got there that I had a truck and trailer They said I could park in the back Later they called and said I couldn’t park there to park on the street but there was no space on street so we had to sleep in our truck at the park It was not good because my husband uses oxygen I hope that you will reimburse us for this room

We stayed in a 2 queen bedroom in June 2026. The room was very old fashioned looking with old furniture. The mattresses were like cement. The room had bugs crawling around in the bathroom area and in the tub. We spent a lot of time killing bugs. The microwave was hiding inside a cupboard on a shelf about one inch above the ground. Really hard to use it when it's basically sitting on the floor. The refrigerator was also on the same level, and it was permanently set at a higher than normal temp ( I suppose to save money) and could not be lowered. The fridge was too warm to be effective so we could not use it. The room also had a large raised divider on the floor between the bedroom flooring and the bathroom flooring. You had to carefully step over it to avoid tripping. One night in the dark I did trip over it going to use the bathroom facilities and was only kept from falling by crashing into the desk chair. I was left with a large horrible bruise on the top of my hand, but it could have been much worse. Speaking of worse, the "free" breakfast is horrible. The only redeeming thing they had were muffins from WalMart. If you eat there, do not try the "scrambled eggs". You will be sorry. Everyone loves a free meal though and people were literally getting upset and pushing others in their haste to get to the yogurt machine. Lastly, the pool water was extremely cloudy and nasty looking.

been coming out to Durango, CO for over 10 years. Walking distance to downtown was ideal. A few blocks over from the main drag. It is an older best western. Rooms were a little dark, and dated. Hotel pool in middle of property. Hotel is next to the Durango train station. They did have complimentary drinks in the evenings.

The room was spacious. The refrigerator was an excellent size. There was a microwave, a coffee pot. It was clean. We even got Two free drinks at their little bar Café compliments of the hotel when we checked in and it was wonderful.. The breakfast was fantastic for a continental breakfast. It had so much to offer and it was absolutely delicious.

Great location and next to the Durango Silverton rail station. Also close to the town for restaurants and bars. Car parking was included so we left the car for the whole day without worry. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Would recommend to anyone wishing to go in the railway.

Disappointed in the pool. Didn’t use because so many people were in it and it was very loud. Didn’t want to be anywhere other than our room or outside. We were there for a soccer tournament and this hotel was one of the host hotels. I suspect the noise wouldn’t have been such a big issue during the week or on a slower weekend. If you’re staying for relaxation and lower noise, get a room that has a door on the outside of the hotel and not one that is pool side.

IF I had little kids the indoor pool and onsite drinks would have been nice but I didn’t really like facing into the idle pool area. The set up is odd with some rooms inward pool courtyard facing with glass doors (with shades?) and some outside facing. In my room the floor above was really squeaky, like trying to sleep during an animal balloon convention. Overall the location is ideal if you want to be close to downtown, felt safe and clean. It just didn’t suit me but fine for one night.

The staff was friendly and helpful with giving restaurant suggestions when asked. The room was very clean and the beds were so soft. Breakfast was the absolute best of our entire trip for one very specific reason: BACON! Every other place we stayed for the week offered either no hot food at all or mediocre quality sausage. This alone was worth the stay. The room was comfortable and inviting. The climate controls responded well. The floorspace was well laid out and allowed us to move around without much effort. The bathroom was also well laid out and stocked with some very good smelling bathing products. Lights and the exhaust fan worked well. Now, on to a few problem areas. The threshold at the door to the hallway was a trip hazard. The reason why it has to be there is part of the most unique feature of this facility as well as it's one big drawback: the indoor pool in the atrium. Being open to the entire inside of the building, it was very humid everywhere. The threshold on each room door kept it out of the room if sleeping in a sauna is not your thing. It is not for us so, the threshold was welcome. The one bad memory for us was when a small child playing in the pool apparently was very angry about something and let everyone in the building know about it... for 3 - 4 minutes straight. I would be very embarrassed as a parent to lose control of my kids in a public place like that.

Our room was not cleaned after our first night. When I brought this up at the desk I was told I should have notified them that I wanted it cleaned. I was told that I should’ve been asked at check in and I was not. I asked to get the room cleaned and was told that the staff was gone for the day but she could give me sheets and a garbage bag so I could change my own sheets and throw my own trash. I told her that was unacceptable and asked her to move to a clean room. She said that since we booked on Expedia I could only be moved to an outside accessible room and she had one facing the exterior of the hotel. It was 9 degrees and we were hoping to use the pool without turning into an icicle. There was very little customer service in the transaction. We will not return despite having stayed there on several prior occasions.

After entering our room, we noticed they gave us two queens instead of the king room we paid for. When we talked with the front desk. They verbalized that they failed to notify us of the change in the system due to over booking and construction. They then apologized and looked for a king room. This process took about 45 minutes start to finish and made us late to our reservation. Very unprofessional and they didn't seem to be worried about wasting our time.

The staff was courteous and the room was clean. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. I should have looked at the hotel pictures more throughly before booking. The way the rooms are situated around the atrium with the pool makes it very noisy, to the point they offer foam earplugs in the room. Breakfast was average and the coffee was good. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown with many shops, restaurants, and bars. You can walk to the Durango Silverton railroad.

The location and the beds were the only good things about this hotel. The room was dingy and needs an update. There was no closet, so the iron and ironing board were on the wall. Everything was mismatched and just seemed dirty. Not impressed with the amount of money we paid for the room. And it was noisy.

For a BW Plus we were very disappointed. The mattress was in poor condition. One side was collapsed and my wife had a hard time sleeping on it. The room A/C was extremely noisy and there was no way to program it to provide a low fan speed for the white noise that I like sleeping with. Also, the shower had dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. the body wash dispenser was empty. Very disappointing given the extremely high cost for the room.

We had a party of 7 with 4 rooms total. Easily accessible to downtown with a short 5 min walk. The balcony is nice to enjoy in the mornings on. The happy hours are nice with a small selection of drink available in the dining hall but it gets really hot in there.Breakfast is decent, and they do have a large selection. Rooms are a little outdated, and the A/C’s need replaced, we all had to turn our thermostats down to 60°f to cool the rooms down. The motorcycles come through in the middle of the night, sit in the parking lot and rev their engines to see who could be the loudest.

I reserved 3 rooms for 3 nights two weeks in advance. Hotel doesn't bother looking at any special requests like Adjoining rooms, which we did request. We couldn't have been scattered further apart and still be in the same hotel. One of the rooms, which happened to be the best room of the 3, had the sheetrock falling from the ceiling in the bathroom. The girl at the front desk was argumentative about giving us another room. Thought that maintenance was going to just clean it up with a handful of rags. We did see maintenance going in there the following day with ladders and sheetrock mud. The hotel in general is just plagued with examples of poor maintenance, sloppy patch jobs. Very disappointing for a Best Western

The hotel was in a very good location to walk to most restaurants and the train to Silverton. The room was large and the bed comfortable. One thing I thought was strange is the hotel is built around an indoor swimming pool, which during my stay was FILLED with screaming children jumping and splashing. This is not a place you want to visit if you're hoping to have a romantic stay. Another thing they "forgot" to tell me was that if you want housekeeping services, you have to ask. Such a disappointment to come back from the Silverton train in the evening and find your room was not refreshed. I only gave 3 stars because this is what to expect here.

We had an excellent stay minus two things. One, the staff at the hotel were very friendly and professional, but there is an obvious lack of training or communication between the staff and management. My clothes got locked in a washing machine at 10 pm. I reported it to the front desk who informed me that a maintenance person would arrive to help. 15 minutes later, no help. I went back down stairs and was informed that the front desk was told that he assisted me. I was waiting for him by the washing machine.... He then called him again. I waited 30 minutes and even tried adding more money in the washer. I went back down stairs, and was told that the guy said, once again, that he assisted me. I went back up stairs to find that the washing machine finally unlocked, but there as soap all over my clothes. I went back down stairs for a refund of my $3.50. This is where things went south. I was informed that they could not give me the money back. Keep in mind, I was only asking for the extra money that I put in to release my clothes and dry them, not the original money. By this time it was 11 something pm. A staff member then insisted on giving me her own money so that I could finish my load. By the time I finished, it was 1am. So much for a good night sleep before travel. The next morning the hotel gave me $4 and said that they helped the staff member who gave me her own money the night before.

Check in was very slow, lobby full of people and only one person to check everyone in, the gentleman checking guests in was doing everything he could to try to get guests checked in as fast as he could but after a long travel day you don’t want to wait an additional 35-45 minutes to get checked in. Room was on the 3rd floor which made it very warm and the AC unit was super loud and would cycle on and off about every 10 minutes at night making a restful night pretty much impossible. All employees that I spoke to were friendly and nice, One other note is there is a large construction project next door and at times the construction noise was very loud

The location was excellent! We rode the train and it was only a block away that we did not need any parking tickets. The parking gets full at night and a bit tight on some spots. It is also a walking distance from Main Street where you find all the nice shops. Our room was beside pool. The only issue is that if you want to sleep before 9am it is better to have a room upstairs. The pool is open from 9am-9pm. The pool and the tub were clean and located right in the middle of the hotel. The hot breakfast was awesome! There were several choices. From muffins, waffle, fruits, eggs, yogurt, toasts, there were many options to choose from. There is also a happy hour from 5:30 pm-7:30pm, although the choices of alcoholic drinks were limited. The laundry room was inside the fitness center on the second floor, and I thought this was an awesome location for laundry. You can work out while doing laundry. The only thing was, the treadmill was broken. The peloton bikes required an account. There was an elliptical and sit down bike, weights, water and towels. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel!

There were a few downsides. The bathroom was quite small, and the shower water pressure was very low. We stayed in a king room on the 2nd floor with doors that opened to the atrium and pool area. Unfortunately, we were woken up early each morning by the footsteps of guests in the room above us. Inside our room, we could also hear children enjoying the pool and the beeping sounds from the breakfast area (possibly the waffle maker). Luckily the pool hours are 9am-9pm so it didn't disturb our sleep. Breakfast was just okay—nothing special—but it was convenient to have the option to grab something if we wanted. Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, I would stay here again.
