Reviews
The hotel has a great location by the river and is within walking distance to downtown, with friendly and helpful staff. However, the property is outdated and in need of updating, with several guests expressing concerns about cleanliness and maintenance issues in the rooms. Additionally, some guests were unhappy with extra charges for parking and breakfast.
- Great location by the river and close to downtown
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Outdated property in need of updating
- Cleanliness and maintenance issues in rooms

Very nice river view in our room. Only issue is that shuttle service not available to and from Airport. There are two shuttles on property but are only used for airport staff and not hotel guests. Even if there was a nominal charge we should have been able to use shuttle as taxi service is very unreliable and lengthy. We waited over an hour at airport for taxi.

Great location on the river. Comfortable room
- 5/5
Hotel property was amazing, staff was great and helpful loved my stay here
- 5/5
Beautiful property with everything you need, restaurant and lounge. Walking distance to downtown Durango. Rooms were clean and good sized with a nice balcony by the river. Clean pool and hot tub.
- 5/5
That Heather at the front desk could not be more knowledgeable kind and caring towards a guest needs!
- 5/5
We were greeted with such kindness and truly enjoyed our time by the river. We will be back.

Dropped almost $2K on a 4 night stay after this Mama finally got her first vacation after having a baby. Big mistake. There were maybe 2 staff members who actually cared about our stay. So many other staff members were so rude. The view was beautiful but the room had major maintenance issues. Wish I could get my money back.

It was clean and beautiful loved our stay also it was close to everything

Desk help was great. assigned a room that probably was not completely clean. assigned a new room that was adequate. The room and view were fine. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom needed attention with tiles missing and marginal sealant. dinner in the restaurant was rough and expensive. my wife and I waited a long time for service because of the short staff. we each had a salad and a soda ($50.00)? Great location beside Animas River and very short walk to Historic District and Silverton steam train
- 4/5
Very spacious rooms & the river view was excellent! Restaurant on site was one of our favorites in Durango.
- 5/5
Small wine glasses in very poor taste. Unless you can fix your kitchen, food quality as well as portions, we will never ever eat here again. Tried breakfast, dinner as well as the Animas Brewery. Very disappointed. I really hope you can resolve the issues in the kitchen. Jennifer, in the bar, was amazing. She is great !!!! Fix your problems.

It was a beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Property location was amazing, the size of the room was perfect. Loved the amenities like microwave, laundry facilities, and outdoor space.
- 2/5
The hotel is old and outdated. The coffee in the lobby was like water. The lobby bathroom had no hot water.
- 5/5
It was all good.
- 5/5
The location was great. Downtown was very close, in walking distance. It was all good.
- 5/5
The rooms were very nice, the balcony facing the river had a great view.
- 3/5
It’s a great location! Nice staff. The building needs updated badly!
- 4/5
Restaurant and bar were outstanding. Room was very clean and well appointed. Parking-to charge for parking is a new experience for me; it has NEVER happened before in an open air lot. I hope they spend some of the money to replace the marking of the spots. The current ones are almost unreadable.

Beautiful property, clean and very friendly staff!!
- 2.5/5
The only thing great about this place was the view. Loved being near the water. But the staff at the front desk were awful. They were rude and just not friendly. Completely unhelpful and a sense of no care. Like I said the view was the only good part.

Excellent location, extremely clean, great facilities and restaurant. The staff was very helpful and friendly and checked in every day via text to see how we were doing! We liked everything, the only thing I would have loved would be loaner bikes as it’s right next to the bike trail. My only suggestion, but the property and facilities were excellent!

Friendly staff. Clean room and great bed and pillows. Good breakfast option. Evening meal very good. Close to riverwalk and historic downtown was just 1 block.

Excellent hotel, great location, easy walking to several points of interest. Very comfortable stay!
- 4.5/5
The Art was repetitive and cheap

Very nice staff. Loved the warm cookies. We had a room on the river on the ground floor. The room was large and we loved sitting on the patio.

Great breakfast, (not included) and lovely location. Staff were very nice. But a bit surprised there was a parking fee in a smallish town like Durango. Internet worked after I got a promo-code. But not before. If it doesn't work go to the front desk and they'll give a code. But overall liked it.

Great location, staff and cleanliness

Great location, staff and cleanliness
- 5/5
Beautiful property, clean room ample parking. Friendly staff
- 5/5
We had a really nice stay. It was great for dog owners, being on the path and next to the river. The river running by drowned out traffic noise. My only complaint was the bar/restaurant. The ambiance and staff were great, but the food was not great and overpriced.
- 5/5
Had a second floor room overlooking the river. Next best thing to a cabin, but within walking distance of everything downtown including the train. I was totally enchanted with my balcony on the river!
- 5/5
Very impressed with his hotel! Staff was super friendly and rooms were spacious and very clean! Location is right on the river with historic charm!
- 5/5
This place is great. The wording was a little misleading on the breakfast. It seemed like it was included. It really wasn't, and it was kind of dead, so I didn't even try it. The lounge and everything was cool. The overall atmosphere was awesome along the Andimas River Trail. I recommend it 100%. The pets loved it too.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful assisting my wife who is handicapped. I enjoyed the experience very much
- 5/5
Such a beautiful location, and close to most everything. It’s really nice having a grocery store across the street. Everyone I have had interactions with has been wonderful, they are friendly and very helpful. I visit Durango regularly and always stay here.
- 5/5
Great location, clean and very nice hotel. Restaurant was good. The only thing was the parking fee seemed a little ridiculous considering the parking lot was attached to Albertsons
- 5/5
Staff was STELLAR! Room was great. Felt like staff treated us like they would want to be treated.
- 5/5
This is such a classic spot in Durango. Right on the river, you can feel the history when you walk in. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant serves delicious meals. A little pricey at times, but worth it!
- 3/5
Staff was nice.
- 5/5
Clean. Nice. Friendly. Helpful
- 4/5
The property was beautifully located along Animas river with great views, walking path and very close to Main Street.
- 5/5
Old hotel but nice, enjoyed the experience and property and rooms were clean
- 4/5
You have to pay for parking, to park in their parking lot for a room you already paid for.
- 5/5
For the price, we were very happy with our stay. We had a room overlooking the river which was wonderful.Rooms were very spacious.Decor was a bit dated but generally we were very satisfied. Nice, attentive staff, good location.
- 5/5
Beautiful location, stayed two nights in a room with river view. Great property to walk our dog along river and grassy areas to play on. Older property but nicely kept. Friendly staff. Walking distance to train and historic Durango. Grocery store next door. Loved our stay.
- 4/5
Everything wad great
- 4/5
Staff was amazing, location was great.
- 4/5
Only issue was my breakfast didn’t get what I ordered. Staff is nice and helpful
- 3/5
Nice for pets with access to outdoors and close to all shopping and restaurants
- 5/5
Room was clean, organized and staff was great
- 2/5
The “free” breakfast needs to be explained better as well. Expedia advertises “FREE BREAKFAST” not “Free breakfast with purchase of voucher”. That’s false advertising and should be corrected. Bathrooms weren’t clean in the pool area or the room.
- 5/5
Lovely older hotel with cool western themed decor. Right on the river. Quiet, convenient to old downtown with restaurants and shopping. HUGE room that was hyper clean. The staff were very professional and friendly. Will stay again.

Clean Room

The staff is fantastic. The restaurant is great and Mamas Italian and the Sushi place next door to Mama's is mind blowingly good.
- 5/5
Strongly recommend snagging a room with a view of the creek. Super cute and peaceful.

We were very pleased with this hotel! They were very welcoming to us and our dogs. Our room was facing the river which was beautiful. The staff in the restaurant were so friendly.
- 5/5
The property was clean, safe and the view was immensely pleasant. I had a great stay. I would stay again!
- 5/5
Great place to stay and a nice view of the river. Our room had a balcony off the room overlooking the river which was nice. Easy location to walk or drive into the town. We love staying here!

Our room was clean and quiet, with beautiful riverside access. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Great Place

Everything was perfect

Hotel and room was great the only thing that was not good was that they offer airport shuttle but when we got there and called was told that the shuttle was only for airline staff not regular guests. They should change that in there listing.

- 5/5
Staff was courteous, clean room! Great location if doing the silverton train ride
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Staff were very friendly and the cookies were gooood!!! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!!
- 3/5
Staff was courteous loved fress coolies at arrivals the was outdated but staff kept clean looks like a recent remodel inside bathroom. I feel that when your a full service hotel and charge for the extra things such as parking etc you should live up to those charges parking lot did not seem like it had security and lot was open for anyone to come and look through cars we showed up from dinner to two transients looking through vehicles windows!! No bell hop to take bags no valet as well I would suggest addressing those issues
- 5/5
Room was clean. Courteous staff, good food for breakfast.
- 5/5
Great location, room was perfect. Front desk staff made great recommendations!
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
Proximity to downtown, shower water pressure, and daily cookies were a plus! The hotel needs updated, especially the rooms.
- 5/5
Room was great and staff were very courteous
- 5/5
We enjoyed our time at this hotel. Clean rooms and the stuff very nice!!
- 3/5
Staff was super friendly, good location to be able to walk around town. Hotel is pretty dated but clean. They have that they provide airport shuttle which they dont (only for staff) - which was the main reason I booked this hotel.
- 4/5
Great place to stay
- 4/5
95% of staff were amazing. Parking seemed expensive for the area. Hotel was extremely convenient to local shops and restaurants.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! Rooms were spacious and our puppy had a grassy area right out side our room that was so convenient. We also had a perfect view of the river. Good and service was excellent. Great staff!!!
- 4/5
Arrived and room smelled like cigars. And they charge hidden parking fee nightly. Hotel needs update, its very 70s but the location is perfect for train and downtown area.
- 2/5
We have the noisiest neighbors. We had maintenance issues with our shower. The Christmas buffet was awful. The furnishings were dated. The view to the river was spectacular. The service was amazing. I really think the service and the view is the only thing saving that place.
- 5/5
Loved the river
- 5/5
Clean room and staff
- 3/5
Guest coffee station in lobby was not restocked, cleaned from previous evening and coffee not made unless requested by guests each morning. Staff at check-in desk did not greet guests except during check-in and out and the exception of the two people working the desk on Christmas day. I don’t think It’s too much to ask that guests are greeted each day! We did not use the dinning room for breakfast, but did go to the lounge for happy hour. Server/bartender was exceptional and menu good. This hotel was built in 1986. It needs updating and repairs made to be competitive with nearby hotels.
- 5/5
By far the best hotel we’ve stayed in. Everyone was so friendly. Jaclyn (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was extremely helpful and sent me a few texts throughout our stay to make sure our every need was met. The room was clean and well kept. So much space compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in. The view of the river below was breathtaking. Everything was hard wood from the front desk to the sinks in the bathroom. Just gave that warm cozy feeling. Dinner was delicious as well. It’s right across the street from the train station. So close you can walk to it. My husband, kids and I would give it 10 stars if we could. We will drive all the way back from Texas and stay here again! It’s that good.
- 5/5
Room was amazing. We had a great view of the Animas river, and being on the first floor, it was super convenient to walk our dogs. The staff from when we arrived, til we departed, was super nice and helpful. Would definitely try to stay here again in the future!
- 5/5
The room was amazing i think the kids koved our Santa room and pool more then the polar express. Jk jk. But seriously it was amazing.
- 5/5
Clean older hotel but beautiful area nice atrum good restaurant and Tesla chargers one was broken but easly reset it by holding down charge handle button 5 sec.
- 5/5
The staff was excellent!! The rooms were very clean and comfortable!
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 3/5
Misinformed by the staff that the hotel provided a shuttle to the airport
- 5/5
Great hotel! Rooms were clean, the only issue we had was the pool was FREEZING
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff was friendly.
- 5/5
View of the Animas River was beautiful. Mountain snow covered. Deer along the river. Walking to the Historic District was so very convenient.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
We booked this for an extended weekend getaway. Unfortunately, I immediately ended up in the ER for an emergency appendectomy and didn't get to spend much time at this hotel. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. We got a river facing room on the second floor, with a little balcony. It was lovely and I wish I had been able to enjoy it. The front office manager, Tom, called to check on me while I was in the hospital. That was very nice and very much appreciated. I would highly recommend this hotel.

- 5/5
I loved the river and Mountain View from my room. Downtown was an easy walk away. I loved the trail behind the hotel. I will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean, the employees very polite. Loved our 2 night stay all around.
- 5/5
It is all nice and so is the staff!
- 4/5
The room was great but wasn’t not clean. View of river was beautiful
- 5/5
Our room and beds were so comfy! We love the beautiful lobby, the hot chocolate chip cookies, the river view we had and the comfy restaurant with river view! Doubletree also has a great location in town!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed Raye our waitress at dinner!
- 5/5
The Mountain View was impressive
- 3/5
The rooms are a bit tired with ripped carpeting and just a bit run down and very sparse.Close to downtown an easy walk. Staff was very nice. $14.00 for parking a bit much considering a lot of parking, This is not like a big city like LA or something that warrants that like parking is a premium....
- 3/5
I will give top rating to the staff, they were friendly and courteous. As for the room, it was clean and pretty standard. The part I found the most frustrating was after spending $240 a night for a room, i was charged an additional $14 a night for my car to park in THEIR parking lot.
- 5/5
They did not have free breakfast. But our stay was wonderful! The view from our room was beautiful!
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
The location is great but the property is beginning to be dated and run down
- 5/5
I loved the balcony overlooking the river and the path along the river. Did not offer a free breakfast, but there was a restaurant onsite. The staff were exceptionally nice. The room was spacious.
- 4/5
Clean room with the Aminas river view. The hotel little dated, but it's fine. We enjoyed the view.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. However, the shower in the first room we were put in was not working. They moved us to another room, which was good. I just hated having to move all our stuff to the other room. I'm one who will unpack everything, so it was a pain.
- 5/5
Comfortable room with view of the river. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely hotel
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, staff was extremely kind and professional. Facility was spotless
- 5/5
Loved the location on the river! Wanted to take it home with me.
- 4/5
Was a little concerned about flooding and we were on first floor by the river
- 3/5
Proximity to downtown is awesome. The views are gorgeous of the surrounding area and mountains. On the other hand, the rooms are dated and are need of a renovation for the price we paid and the shower head did not work to full capacity. Shower head was old.
- 3/5
Good location, but hotel is dated.
- 5/5
Nice jacuzzi and swimming pool
- 5/5
Had a wonderful stay. The river view rooms were amazing. We wIll definitely stay again next time we are in Durango.
- 5/5
Beautiful setting right on the river. Also conveniently located near downtown shopping and dining. Very walkable. Furnishings are a little old, but of good quality and appropriate to the age and style of the facility. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were nice, but the exercise room was a bit inadequate given the size of the hotel. The dining room and beer garden had very good food and service. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Finally, I must compliment the exquisite water pressure in the shower. It may be an odd thing to comment on, but showering was a truly exceptional experience. We stayed at two other hotels on our trip and there was no comparison.
- 5/5
I liked everything. It was convenient , clean, delicious food. Pleasant people serving us . Convient to everything.
- 5/5
The entire property was great. Loved being by the Animas River.
- 5/5
From the greeting at the front desk to the check out, it was delightful! It’s so conveniently located and the views of the river so relaxing.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 3/5
Property is ideal to downtown Durango and you can easily walk to and from downtown and the train station. The river view room was fantastic!! The property needs some serious TLC in a few places that have just aged out. The restaurant, the rooms doors and carpets, and this is a HILTON and there is NO airport transportation available for guests. Thats a huge bummer.
- 4/5
✅
- 3/5
Hotel had shuttle but no driver. Good. staff friendly & good. Beds nice. Room clean, cleaning service good.
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean rooms. Amazing view of the river.
- 3/5
Was not informed by Expedia that there would be $15 parking fee to park in front of our room
- 5/5
One of the reasons I picked this property was for the electric car charging station. Unfortunately, the charger was broke. There is another charger near by thankfully. Everything else was fantastic.
- 5/5
The room was very clean & fresh, the carpet was new. Loved the river view with aspen trees right outside our balcony! Staff was friendly - we were offered an upgrade to a river view room at a great price when we checked it. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend it to others.
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing. The rooms were large and soooo well insulated. The view from the balony was wonderful. The staff was very friendly...at the main desk, the resturant, and the lounge. Also, room service was very helpful when i thought i had left something in the room. The restaurant view was amazing and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend stay at this location and will come back if ever in the area.
- 5/5
I like everything, no disappointments
- 4/5
Good stay
- 5/5
On the river
- 5/5
This is definitely the best hotel in Durango, especially if you enjoy walking along the river on the trail that runs right by the hotel. It is expensive, partly due to fees for parking and a resort fee whether you need extra options or not. But it is very well managed, the rooms are excellent, and in-house dining is available.
- 5/5
This is a clean, well-maintained, well-managed hotel. I stay there whenever I'm in Durango. I especially love the river walk right by the hotel.
- 5/5
Awesome! Clean, comfy, and everyone was so kind!
- 5/5
trash beside the hotel should have been removed
- 5/5
We were in a balcony room overlooking the river. Very peaceful.
- 4/5
You cannot beat this location right on the river and river trail. Hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly, and the rooms are very large.
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Perfect location for staying in downtown Durango. The amenities were great, room was perfect, and staff was extremely friendly.
- 5/5
The Room Service food was good, but the soup was served cold, and I had to ask for another one. I hated that they automatically take 20% gratuity for themselves. That was just... over the top greedy. The only other really bad thing was no bell service and NOBODY helped me as I struggled to get through the door with the cart full of luggage. Also NOBODY bothered to show me there was a handicap RAMP I could have pushed the cart up as I struggled to pull my luggage up the STAIRS to the hotel lobby. Who puts STAIRS in the front of a hotel??? They all saw me. They just stayed behind the counter. Said nothing. No one offered to help. I was just informed there was no bell staff. It was so weird!
- 1/5
There were people staying on the property in their vans walking their dogs off leash. The price of the place did not reflect anything. I did not place an order for a double bedroom for $458 per night. I wanted a king bed with a sofa. It was ridiculous who would pay $458 for two queen beds only it was ridiculous.
- 5/5
Older property but very well kept and in a great location.
- 3/5
Staff is friendly, but the hotel itself is in major need of an update. Decor is maybe meant to read “historic,” but just feels dated. There’s so much brown you start to wonder what they’re trying to hide. Our sliding door didn’t lock, a mentioned security pin was missing. Highway noise was considerable from early morning.
- 5/5
Highly recommend! We had a great balcony room that overlooked the river. Very peaceful and beautiful. Beer garden was very nice and food was good. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional.
- 1/5
No streaming service on TV. Property is very old, built 40+ years ago and seems like it was never renovated.
- 5/5
People at front desk very good. Cookies were delicious. One of the best hotel stays this year.
- 5/5
We usually stay downtown, so we appreciated the decor with a similar vibe. Staff was great, room was nice and the shower had good water pressure 😅
- 5/5
Love being downtown and by the river.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel along river walk within walking distance to railway station and historic downtown!
- 4/5
The only reason I cannot give a full five-star review is because of an unfortunate experience at the restaurant attached to the hotel (not the beer garden, but the indoor restaurant). Before leaving town, we decided to try it out, but when I asked the waiter about food options and timing, he responded in a very rude and dismissive way, saying he “didn’t have all day or all night” because his crew had already worked very hard. The tone made us feel uncomfortable, to the point where we decided not to eat there out of concern for how we might be treated further. I also noticed him refusing to pour us a drink, yet shortly after, he served other guests at the bar without hesitation. This individual, who had long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail, was unprofessional and left a poor impression. The hotel itself is wonderful and has excellent staff like Jack, but the restaurant experience fell short. With better service in that area, this hotel would easily deserve five stars.
- 4/5
Restaurant food was great!
- 5/5
Our room was our best experience so far. Beautiful balcony overlooking the river, spacious room, and the best shower! Close to the train and shopping.
- 3/5
Poor internet access. Noisy refrigerator. Noisy plumbing. Mold in tub at grout line.
- 5/5
Location, location, location. Best shower of my life! Great Crabtree & Evelyn products. Right on the river! Definitely book the riverside room. Walk to the train (Must do!) and downtown shops and restaurants.
- 1/5
Where to start. In the lobby just above the front desk was a light hanging from the celling by its wires. Then they pop the hidden charge on you to use their large parking lot on top of the resort fee. Its 14$ per night to park. They will be nice and let you out of your reservations but thats because they know I was there in the busy season and everywhere else was booked up. My room wasnt ready on time they said they would call me when it was ready. They said it would be the priority. Yet if I check out late they will charge me lol. They never called so I went back up to the front desk and asked about the status they were like oops the room was clean we made a mistake. But no sorrys for leaving me and my wife sitting around waiting and not telling us. The property was run down and needed updating. Didnt feel safe in the parking lot at all. There was a Hispanic guy in the lot two of the nights we were their switching between defernt cars he had in the lot. He was covered in tattoos and blaring Mexican music. I wouldnt have noticed him if it wasnt for the loud music. When I looked over at him he acted like we were going to have problems. I really think there is some stuff going on in the parking lot I was charged to park my car in. Thanks for charging me to feel unsafe. Durango seemed like a nice city this hotel does not seem up to Durango standards. Absolutely loved the city of Durango.
- 5/5
Odd that the the property has an airport shuttle but guests are not allowed to use it. It is meant only for the airline staff apparently. We have to fend for ourselves with the never available taxis and Uber.
- 5/5
We loved having a ground floor room with the balcony. We took our small dog with us and it made it easy to walk her and give her outdoor time. We also loved being near the river. It was peaceful.
- 3/5
Clean but dated hotel. A bit on the loud side. Convenient location.
- 3/5
Good service was terrible!!! Restaurant was closed (Friday night). Went to patio but only seats were in sun. Then went to bar and waited 2 hour only to have wrong order delivered. We had taken train to Silverton & back. It was very hot and we were tired.
- 4/5
Downside - employee turn over seems to have impacted the typical high level of service and cleanliness of a Hilton property. A gentle reminder to the front desk to the trash present at checkin as well as stains in the bathroom were not fully addressed for 2 days. Day 2 of our stay we had to actually request housekeeping to clean our room! Oh - be aware that if you drive to the property you'll be charged to park in the parking lot. I still need to find out why my total was a hundred dollar more than what expedia quoted.. We had a nice casual dinner outdoors close to the river. Great service and food.
- 3/5
Hotel is very long and I approximate the distance to be about 3 to 4 hundred yards. We were told the reservations and room assignments were randomly assigned despite me making the reservations in one single transaction. This refusal to accommodate our request caused so much undo stress on my elderly in-laws and a lot of extra work back and forth. I had to park at their end of the hotel and re-park at our end six times to unload when we arrived and for check out and, too, each time we left for shopping, dinner and breakfast.

Beautiful location, nice clean hotel. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Shower was great. On a trip and this place was our second night and ended up being the best sleep on the trip.

Hotel muy limpio y cerca del centro de durango y la estación de tren

Aging hotel in need of thorough cleaning, updating, and repairs. Noted pealing paint and wallpaper in the room. Brown goo dripping from bathroom ceiling. Someone else’s hair clinging to shower wall and ceiling.

Staff were great! Hotel is dated. Restaurant was good
- 3/5
Hotel is very tired and in need of an update. Felt nickle and dimed for many things that are complimentary at similar hotels. Charging $14 a day to self park in a huge lot is insulting.

Great hotel stay. The room was very cozy and clean. The location is perfect, right on the river and walking distance to train and shops. The Beer Garden was the perfect spot for food and drinks located on the hotel property. We were surprised by the $12 a day parking but we really enjoyed the stay.

The only other remaining issue was with the maids who merely left clear plastic bags for the waste baskets draped over the side of the basket without actually installing them in the waste basket for use. My home cleaning ladies always install new trash bags in the waste baskets in my house when they empty the old ones. Apparently, for $238 plus $32 taxes per night, you're supposed to put your own trash bags in the waste baskets. The room itself was fairly comfortable. The bathroom was large and had all the usual accoutrements. I chose a king bed with separate sofa room because it was larger than a plain king bed room. The sofa gives you a place to sit and watch the big screen TV without having to sit on the end of the bed like most hotel rooms. The air conditioning worked well, was easy to adjust, and kept the room warm. It didn't seem to have a vent in the bath-room which could be a bit chillier at times.

Its right by the river, downtown, quiet, and has a great pool and hot tub. You can walk to a grocery store that has a Starbucks. It's close to everything and has tons of parking.

Our stay at the Doubletree in Durango was very nice. Our room had a view of the river and was spacious. Most of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We took advantage of the restaurant one morning before our trip to Ouray. They made us to-go breakfast sandwiches on biscuits that were delicious. You could tell this hotel has been around for some time and it has been updated. The location was pretty central to town and there is a grocery store next to the property. Our room was quiet, except for work being done along the River Walk directly below our room, but they didnt start work until 8am so it didn't bother us. There were multiple outlets to plug electronic chargers in and they had towel racks to hang up towels (something a lot of newer hotels dont have anymore!)Overall we would stay here again the next time we come to Durango.

Property needs some remodeling but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Excellent!! Inside pool Jacuzzi. Unlimited of towels, wonderful 👍

I’ve been staying in this hotel once or twice a year for about ten years. It’s definitely dates, but it’s definitely showing signs of wear that didn’t exist in the past. There are new hotels popping up all around town. It’s either time to renovate or people should be staying elsewhere

Paid for riverview and got a construction view of ban at and excavator instead. Was not quiet as they started early morning work right outside our balcony every morning. Mentioned to staff and was told it was the city that did it. Did not get view we paid for and that was extra. Will not stay again.

We didn’t have access to the river as was stated in web description. That is the only reason we stayed at that location.

Not worth the money, the rooms were dated bottom of bathroom door peeling off, patio door hard to open and lock

Bad- they charged for parking, shower drained backing up, small gym room

My big disappointment was the breakfast. We paid for it when we booked the room. We found out at the hotel that we will get a voucher for the amount paid to be used in the restaurant for breakfast. The prices for all breakfast items were very high, and you had to pay for coffee and tea as well in the restaurant, even though the hotel offered coffee and tea in the rooms and in the lobby. But other than this issue, everything was nice.

Awesome place to stay! Was doing some renovation while there. Very courteous and helpful.

Check-in was slow. Several guests complaining about their rooms due to the construction outside. The staff member checking us in neglected to tell us where our room was located and we ended up going to the wrong side of the hotel first. There were missing tiles in our shower which are now growing mold on the underlayment. Rooms need updating.

I had a very early morning flight the next day. We chose this hotel because the description mentioned it offers shuttle service to the airport. We paid over $50 more to stay here because of this amenity. We checked in and discovered that the shuttle service is only for airline employees. This hotel is dated but comfortable enough. We would have stayed at another location and saved the $50 had we known there was no shuttle.

I read the reviews. I knew the place was old and run down. But I took a chance on the Hilton name thinking the service and quality in other areas would be there. Not true. There’s nothing special about this place that suggests it’s a Hilton property, other than they charge for parking when other hotels in the area don’t. There’s no breakfast included. The restaurant on site is pricey and mediocre at best. I suppose if I was hungry I could have just eaten in my room since our room refrigerator had food left over from the last guest. Yuck. Sleeping was rough. We were woken up our first night by someone running down the hall and being tackled by what we assumed was security. After a lot of screaming and moaning, he was taken away by the police car that was shining his flashing lights in our window. I get that incidents may happen, and that’s not the hotel’s fault, but we were woken up again the next night. We had just gone to bed after a long day when Mary at the front desk called our room (after 9 pm) and insisted we come down to the front desk so they could run our credit card again for the incidental deposit. Seriously?! Not the place to stay if you value sleep.

I chose this location because it was close to the train. I loved the walking path behind the hotel and the restaurant. Having Albertsons grocery store just across the parking lot was also very convenient. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Would stay again.
