The room was clean but we noticed the dirty towels that were stained and bought our own. Same for the pillows. I hate that daily room service is mandatory so for about 30-40 mins everyday, you are kicked out of your room. It is so inconvenient. If I could, I will avoid staying here again. It was roomy and the restroom was clean but the microwave and refrigerator barely worked. There is no pool and the doggy potty area smells so bad. They probably don't clean it thoroughly. I would go somewhere else if that costs the same.

The room is clean. The location was good. The staff the front desk staff. The housekeeping staff was good. The front desk staff was really horrible because I am a travel nurse and I work 14 hours a night. I came home in the mornings and I go to sleep when they come to my room to clean my room. I told them that I don’t need my room clean. I only need towels. They have a big problem with that because they said because of the policy of the motel 6 they need to come into my room every other day to clean it and I said it’s OK just give me clean towels because I’m sleeping and when they come to knock on the door, they not like it’s the police entering your room so the front desk lady told me that I’m not welcome there anymore. I was supposed to check out. I was supposed to be there for two weeks. I stayed six days and I left because I have stayed until five stars hotel domestic and international and I have never heard anyone telling me that it’s policy to come into my room to clean if I don’t want anyone to clean my room so the front desk lady was very abrupt and very rude. She told me point blank well you’re not welcome back at our property so I checked out and I checked into a Marriott Bonvoy hotel and they were totally fine with no one coming into my room to clean because like I said I’m a travel nurse and I need my sleep

It was very loud at night hearing a lot of cars, as well as the door and blinds let in a TON of light so it’s hard to sleep. The pet area could use an upgrade as well.

The staff was great They advertise having a pool but it's been filled in for a dog potty area. They won't issue a parking pass for a guest so I spent a fortune on ride sharing services

Nothing The front desk staff Eduardo is very rude, needs consistent training, needs people skills, and honestly shouldn’t work a job that is customer facing. As for housekeeping, they REQUIRE that you MUST LEAVE while they clean your room every other day. ALSO. Housekeeping staff STOLE FROM ME on 5/26 between the times of 12:30-6:00. They have repeatedly refused to be helpful when they OBVIOUSLY stole a package from me. A package that my best friend just gifted me. DO NOT GO HERE.

Clean, helpful staff, good central location with food within walking distance. Fridge and microwave in room. It is easy to get to, which means right along the highway, so there is traffic noise. But they provided ear plugs. I just left the TV on at night to cancel the traffic noise.

Check in was quick and easy. Stay was fine but housekeeping entered room at check out while knocking simultaneously. Did not have opportunity to answer. Not sure what that was about

Staff were pleasant. Too much light for having shutters only. Freeway noise is so bad and windows so outdated, that that the hotel has to provide ear plugs.

We arrived late, around midnight. There was no one present at the front desk for at least 20 minutes. After a 3-hour drive and 2 fussy toddlers this was very inconvenient. The hotel was basic, bed and shower. We stayed a total of 2 nights, the thing that bothered me the most was that this place had MANDATORY housekeeping. I have never stayed at a property for a weekend where they mandate housekeeping. They came when we were still present in the room, and when we declined, they called from the front desk and stated they would come back when we were not there. Felt really uncomfortable with someone coming into my room, where my belongings are and cleaning when we had not even been there for a total of 24 hours yet. That's really my only complaint. You get what you pay for, as the room are very basic. The rooms were clean.

The first picture in booking was a pool! When I arrived the pool and jaccussi were filled in. Was not very clean. Had mandatory house keeping, daily that they would not do while I was in the room or requested not to do. I got an accessible room, however the shower had no way of stopping the water so the restroom got wet everywhere and was really slippery. The restroom locked from the outside of the door.

Yes, the parking feels safe. It’s well lit and located in front of the rooms. The parking spots are large enough to feel you’ll have enough room on each side.

I've been booking here multiple times out of the month. I appreciate that they are pet friendly and don't require pet fees. Their refundable deposit is only $50.00 which is reasonable. I love that they do house keeping every day it shows that the property and management are on top of it. I always book their queen suite and its always at a good price. Location is amazing, 5-10 minutes up the street from a variety food places (i.e. Wingstop, Chipotle, Habit, CA Fish Grill, Urban Plates, Tastea) There is nothing I didn't like, but sometimes our key card not opening our door sometimes but everything else was amazing like always.

Easy to find location close to the highway and good food. The room was nicely remodeled with a microwave and fridge. Everything was well maintained. The beds were not as comfortable as we wanted but will do. Staff was professional and polite.

I'm the room on the back of the toilet was an open roll of toilet later that clearly had been water damaged. Right outside the only window at the back of the room was the noisy freeway so no fresh air there. Right outside the door on with side we're people standing smoking off and on. Even with the door closed the smell of smoke kept filling into the room. Other than that, the room was nice. I love cooking my own food. Nice sized, clean, refrigerator and a good working microwave. Next time I visit Fountain Valley I will find a different motel. One that isn't next to the freeway and that has a designated smoking area, away from the room doors.

We really were surprised by our visit. We booked this room for our family at an amazing rate for the whole week. That being said, the reviews were mixed and we were a bit nervous it would be gross and uncomfortable (as I often feel motel 6s can be). It lacks basics such as shampoos and hair dryer, but it was clean, the beds were comfortable and we felt safe. The air conditioner worked great and the freeway noise really didn’t bother us. I was worried it would be super sketchy but it was all fine. Our sink didn’t drain well but my husband fixed it to suite our needs. Overall we would book again if we could get great rates like that. My mom also booked at a different rate to stay with us and that felt way too much for lack of amenities, breakfast etc when you could book a nicer hotel with breakfast and pool for only a little more…so if you find this motel at a great deal, it’s worth it. Also they cleaned our room every two days (would have done very day if we wanted it) and they did a great job cleaning and everything.

I needed a place to crash for the night before a 6 hour drive in the morning and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. This is just that - a basic place to crash for the night. If you see on the map - you'll know it's right next to America's busiest freeway - the 405. So yeah, you're going to get a lot of road noise. I pack very effective earplugs to deal with it. There are multiple places to dine within walking distance. Everything in the room worked. WiFi was decent. I got up early and hit the road - so the place served its purpose. Don't expect a 5 star resort - but it doesn't pretend to be either.

This place was disgusting. I wouldn’t send a rat to go live there. It was so rundown the people at the front desk, rude and everyone’s rude and it’s super dirty. I would never go there again.

If you are just there to eat and don’t need breakfast or a pool etc it’s an ok to good stay. If you are a hard sleeper it would be a goodnight sleep, however if you are not a hard sleeper you will hear highway traffic as the highway is right next to the hotel. Wear earplugs.

We had a great stay and will definitely stay here again. Our room had a few things that need to be repaired like a leaky toilet, sink didn’t drain properly and there’s no shampoo available so we had to buy some other than that Everything was absolutely fantastic and upon check-in and check out the desk managers were extremely courteous and professional.

Considering how poorly the property has been maintained, the room was spotless and smelled very clean. We checked in after a long late might flight and were told that the parking lot was full and that we would have to park in a different lot and get up before 8 to move the car. The hotel is directly next to the freeway and the sound is loud. It is however in a convient location.

I booked a room suite with queen bed. The young guy in the front desk checked me in a double bed smelly room. It was too late for me to go back to the front desk, just want to sleep after a long drive.

During my stay, an employee actually called me to accuse me of ripping one of their blankets and smoking weed in the room—both of which are completely false. I was then told that I had to pay for a sheet I did not rip just to have my door unlocked so I could get back into the room I had already paid for. Being locked out and forced to pay for something I didn’t do was completely unacceptable. When I asked to speak to the manager, the employee became extremely rude and started yelling at me as if I were some kind of criminal. She kept talking over me and would not even let me explain my side of the situation. There was absolutely no professionalism or basic respect. The way guests are treated here is shocking. Instead of resolving issues respectfully, they jump straight to accusations and intimidation. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else unless you want to deal with false charges, rude staff, and an incredibly stressful experience.

If you are staying there for some alone time don't stay there because they have housekeeping rule that they must do everyday no matter how many days you stay. They must come in everyday and clean your room and you must stay outside while they clean. I wasn't feeling well they bang on your even if u have it locked and dead bolted they still come in

They have this rule of house keeping everyday no matter how many days u stay they check your room everyday no matter what. Which is annoying if you aren't feeling well they bother you to clean room for about 20 to 30 mins every morning while you are out of room.

The rooms were well cleaned. They had no rugs, which I am not used to, but it made me sure that there were no bugs to worry about. The hotel is close to the highway so there is noise, but not too bad and it is a decent trade for quickly getting back on the road. The elevator had a panel that didn't show lights or numbers, which is unsettling and needs fixed, but it worked well to get me to the third floor. Overall, I would say a good value for the affordable price.

As for rest of the room, TV was larger than most places and a newer model, so that was nice. Although the mattress was comfortable, the thick pillows made it very uncomfortable to sleep so we had to discard them, which ruined the fact that the bed was comfortable... Also, if you are a light sleeper, be aware that the rooms are all literally within a few yards from the freeway path, making it seem like you were sleeping by the side of the road. I get that all motels are positioned close to the freeways for easy access but this one was by far the closest!

What makes this stay a 1 star is the surprise deposit, the vending machines that charge airport prices ($4.60) for a can of pepsi and guess im out of order vending machine across from it. Required interference called room service and the worse pwr5 is the Motel staff. Rude, unprofessional, uneducated and prejudice. Childish behavior to the point of disconnecting the room phone line because of the harassment from the front desk staff. Even called my cell phone in an effort to just get the last word in or something. I even noticed staff leaving the office to bum a few cigarettes while a family of 3 waited outside the office in the rainy cold weather. Trust me...NEVER AGAIN MOTEL 6 FOUNTAIN VALLEY!!!

The room was very clean and tidy and check-in was a breeze. The handle on the toilet broke the first night, but was fixed by the cleaning staff the next morning before we had a chance to report it. The only downside was that the 405 is approximately 8 feet from the window and was rather noisy. The motel does provide earplugs.

I didn’t get any sleep due to the noises traffic out side the bedroom window! It was like the window was open and the earplugs they set out for you did not help and they hurt my ears after awhile!

No complaints. I’m a self sufficient traveler. I pack a little more than the bare minimum. A “what if” packer. What if I need this or that. The motel as few amenities but that cleaver design keeps the price per night manageable. I appreciate that. The whole property staff is delightful. Polite & hospitable. The rooms are super clean. The windows open all the way fresh air is a plus. It’s pretty quiet. I like that too. Beds are memory foam. Shower water pressure is fantastic . Room comes with a 4foot refrigerator with real freezer and microwave. That’s vers nice. I like it and C I’ll be back .

Everything here is fine. It’s quiet, free parking, pets, water pressure in shower is like a dream. That’s a huge plus’s. house keeping each day. It’s a no frills motel which keep the nightly price extremely manageable. The folks that work here are delightful. I do think that a motel and hotel when supplying room with refrigerator and microwave means theee WILL BE DINING IN THE ROOM. But it would be smart to include a few cleaning supplies in the room so a guest isn’t left without a way to wipe up food or drink which leaves them no other option to use a towel of any kind which feels awkward & stained towels will be deducted from your deposit without warning. Most travelers don’t pack a sponge. That’s tricky. But still 5 stars for the staff and cleanliness and lower nightly price with full size widows that can be completely opened. AND THE SHOWER WATER PRESSURE are all great reasons to choose this spot to stay.

They allow pets. They allow smoking which I do not understand. It’s super quiet. The refrigerator is an apt size 48” with a produce drawer and real freezer Parking is free that’s nice. This is where you separate the Motel from the Hotel. No frills makes for a very comfortable nightly price. Ease in maintaining for the business also keeps the motels pricing more manageable. All in all I rather like this specific Motel6.

Stayed here the night before a cruise. Location was close to shopping for last minute runs. Location is about 35 minutes from port. Sufficient parking.

I never expected the comfort I’ve found. I just had any idea the price is so great. I just figured it would just be well. I didn’t know what to figure but people are so nice and the rooms are cute and so clean and it’s quiet and you know what I rebooked the bed is comfortable. The showerhead has so much pressure Best showerhead and it looks like a plain old showerhead is just pressure water pressure people great There is a few things that you just need in Hotel so it’s here.

Terrible experience. Maid came in two days in a row without knocking. Didn't offer to leave the room. Air conditioner didn't work. Internet service was not good. Had to park off the property. Some noise outside. Refused to refund for future days that were prepaid as I chose to leave early. Stated to Hotel.com that I smoked in non-designated areas, which I didn't. Not a good experience.

You're kidding, right? Rude, unhelpful staff. They have your money and hand out earplugs because they know it's impossible to sleep through the freeway noise.

Towel theft/deposit scheme: Housekeeping daily removes towels/washcloths, never returns all. Must "barter" at office for replacements - took 2 of each, only returned large towels. Deposit scam: At checkout, delayed 15min room check. Initially denied $50 deposit claiming missing towels (they took them). When reminded, staff "suddenly remembered." Called Housekeeping back for "further checks" - another 15min wait. Finally denied deposit over dime-sized blood spot from dog in heat on their $1 50TC sheet. Other issues: "Free" internet expired after 3 days of 2-week stay. Only English on speaking staff on the property is at front desk. BEWARE! $200/night - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

No sound deadening to block out the constant 24/7 freeway 5 ft from the property. It sounded like the windows were always open. Not to mention the numerous bullet holes in them. Although the unnecessary 6 person shower in my room was great with great water pressure, it constantly smelled like mildew and the ac half worked

Great and no issues as always. Weekly customer due to work and living four hours away. Very clean and always friendly. The 405 hotel can be tough to sleep through if not use to it but ear plugs are included in the rooms. It’s no Four Seasons but a great value to consider.

Staff were very helpful, kept our luggage for us as we arrived early. The lady at the desk was professional, friendly and a great help. We had a wonderful stay!!

The 405 runs 20 feet from the window in the room, it could be closer I did not measure. NO parking to support the number of rooms available and we got the last spot I wonder where everyone parked? Mandatory maid service with a pet, we had a cat we needed to be out of the room between 12 and 1pm, we returned at 1:15 and no one had been there, they showed up about an hour later and wanted us to leave again they cleaned with us and our company in the room. The bad thing is they had 12:00 on the sheet and we could see it. If we not been there 2.5 hours later they would have let out cat out of the room. We do love our pet and would have been devestated.

Star was great staff was nice. My only disappointment was them charging me $5 for a “stained” washcloth. The was cloth had pizza sauce on it. It’s not like they don’t wash their towels and linens in bleach to remove “stains” I call BS on that

Perfect location for family vacation. Has skate rink in parking lot and coffee shop. Beach and pier access just down the street. Would definitely stay again.

Over all this is an ok motel. I could tell they clean the room because of the strong smell of pinesol. I’m not kidding the smell didn’t go away for the whole time I was there. I had to leave sooner than planned.

Freeway noise is a lot! Wakes you up several times during the night.

Very clean, updated furniture, clean walls, nice and clean and updated restroom. First time I stayed here definitely coming back. Not all motel 6's are like this one. This one is the best so far.

I stay weekly due to my hybrid work schedule. Never any issues. Very clean and managed well. A few of us are in similar situations - circumstances that either the outrageous costs of rentals and or having dogs keeps us from getting an apartment. Apartment rent or @15 nights per month. Makes sense. Very convenient to my job being only two exists away and @10 minute drive. I’m appreciative for this option.

The room is basically on the freeway. It’s super loud all night long.

We were in between homes and stayed at Motel 6 , we were all happy with the service at the front office, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

I knew what we're going to expect staying in a motel so I didn't expect too much. The double lock security is good. However the person who checked us in didn't look accommodating and friendly at all, No greeting was given and not even a smile. We had a long day and came from a tour so were very tired. And to be welcomed by someone unwelcoming isn't too nice.

Very nice place to stay

Even though I reserved a nonsmoking room, it had a weird smell like they added too much bleach to mask smoke odor. The floor was sticky and slippery, it wasn’t clean correctly.

The room was dirty the a\c didn't work . The maintenance guy is a terrible worker the elevator broke down and the maintenance person was right next to it and didn't do anything to fix it after he was told like and hour later it still wasn't working and told a housekeeper and they told the maintenance guy . The maintenance person told the lady for her to fix it and proceed to drill the same hole for the past hour

I needed a last minute stay on my drive at the point of getting tired but still being close to the beach. The price was amazing I have my dog and we both slept through the night. There’s a little fenced dog space he used immediately. The sound of the freeway was right outside but I like the sound. It might bother someone else. The area feels business park and the guests even have clean cars. I’d stay again. There are other options but for a bed and a shower and even two TVs with a separate living space, this was great.

Other than air policy of mandatory room, cleaning everyday this place great, the housekeeper lady, she had kind of an attitude. I've never stayed in one hotel where they said.It's mandatory to have the room cleaned every day

All was good except for freeway noise from traffic outside your window and music from the roller rink. I appreciated the ear plugs

They made up different excuses to kick us out and keep our money.

Great location for where we needed to be, clean rooms, pet friendly. Only thing that didn't work for me was the noise next to the freeway.

I was charged a $50 deposit and was denied $15 of that amount for using a room towel to clean the filthy floor. I am filing a claim for investigation with the FTC because they are renting dirty rooms and not returning deposits due to patrons having to clean floors themselves. I am also contacting the local health department to investigate why this business is renting dirty rooms to the public.

The hotel is located next to a roller rink which plays loud music, but I couldn't hear anything inside my room itself despite being close to the building. Plus, it looks like a great way to have fun.

How come I missed seeing any reviews about the noise of the highway which is so loud it sounds like you’re stood at the side of the road? My dog is so scared she can’t settle in the room. Can’t believe I paid as much as I did for this room and that I am committed to staying here overnight. Never again!
