Everything. The rooms were spacious and clean. The front desk staff were awesome as well as the house keeping staff. What I didn't like AT ALL WAS THE BREAKFAST TIMES FROM 6AM-9AM. I took my 7yo Granddaughter and her 8yo best friend and we didn't get to eat breakfast one single day. After spending our days at the beach and nights at swimming pool, we didn't get to bed until 1030. They both slept until 930 all 4 mornings. There is no way that I was going to wake them up for breakfast. I talked to several parents there, and they said the same thing. Most, not all of vacationers sleep in a bit when then are on vacation. I think they could at least serve breakfast from 7am-10am. Or possibly from 8am-11am. I paid extra money at this hotel for the free breakfast and never once got to enjoy it. Breakfast times should be changed for people on vacation.

The walking distance to the beach was great. The beds were comfortable and my kids loved the view of the beach out our balcony.

Staff was polite and location stayed by clean. The mattress was uncomfortable and sounded as though there were some broken springs when getting off of the bed, primarily on the left side (facing the bed). The sheets were stiff and the pillows seemed firm. Everything else was great, just did not sleep well.

Everything was great. The only complaint I have is that breakfast ends at 9.

Room was spacious and nice. Pool and hot tub area was nice. Hot tub jets worked, but not the heater. Breakfast was free, thus nice. Would have liked to see grits and bananas.

The location was fantastic! The bed was really comfortable and the room very spacious . Breakfast was great, plenty of options. Loved that every room had a balcony. It took a full 24 hours for our room to feel cool, but we were never uncomfortable. There was sometimes an odd smell in the lobby and parking lot, and the bathroom door opened inward and was awkward to get into.

There was something that made a lot of noise one evening, perhaps a generator, the AC unit or pool pumps, not terrible and it didn't affect our sleeping, just annoying. The TV was not connected to the Internet so local channels were the only choices.

The location is indeed everything. Also the ocean view was amazing. Seemed understaffed took to long to get front desk service due to slow WiFi lots of people in and out of lobby

I liked the room size. Woke uo to water all over the floor not from anything but condensation. Not even from the ac unit it was coming from from the floor.

The room was clean. We had the do not disturb sign on the door but they left a bag of clean towels on our door, we truly appreciated that. It’s directly across from the beach you do have to cross the street but that’s at any hotel on the island. I’ve stayed at several hotels on the island and this was by far the best! Coffee in the lobby 24/7 breakfast from 6am -9am yogurt bar, eggs bacon sausage biscuits and gravy cereal coffee hot chocolate Texas shaped waffles that were delicious. Several hot sauces to choose from jelly’s cream cheese all the things you would need to complete your breakfast. The pool was good the hot tub was a little cooler than I’d like but it was nice. This will definitely be my go to hotel when I come back! I seen a few negative reviews I almost changed my mind so happy I didn’t it was a great trip! Lots of parking and it’s free no up change when you get there

I enjoy this property way more than I thought I would. The rooms are clean, spacious, well-planned and the amenities are excellent. The hot tub is the best one we've been to for a very long time. And it actually worked!!!

Breakfast was atrocious

The first night around 2:30 am the carbon monoxide alarm started beeping. My husband went to the front desk to report it and the clerk said there was nothing he could do and the maintenance man would be in the next day around 10:30. He refused to let us take it down because he said it would cause the main system to go off. He never came up to the room to check it to see if it was an actual alarm or a battery. We had our two young grandchildren with us. We got no sleep due to the constant beeping all night. The maintenance man came about 8:30 the next morning took the battery out and took the alarm with him . Due to the interruption of sleep it caused us to lose a day of activities with our grandchildren. They told us that they would refund us half of the room cost but because we booked through Expedia that they would not be able to refund us anything.

Hotel and property were very clean. Free parking with plenty of parking spaces including parking on the back side of hotel. Breakfast was great with bacon and sausage served every day of our stay as well as scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruit, pastries and waffles and a yogurt station. Coffee available 24 hours in lobby.

The HVAC obviously was not operating properly. Our room was so humid the floor was wet, the countertops wet and clothing damp. We had to keep the temp set at 67 degrees to keep the humidity level at even a tolerable condition. Then it was very uncomfortable. The maintenance guy sent up was not experienced and had no idea how to resolve the issue. Communication was difficult as he spoke no English nor did cleaning staff. We couldn’t use our balcony due to marijuana smoke from other guests on balconies. The property clearly stated no smoking on property. When we requested to the front desk staff to resolve issue the blonde haired front desk clerk snapped at me stating she did not know who was smoking and refused to assist. She was extremely rude. The breakfast was fair at best but closed at 9am. Multiple guests complained about the early closing time. I had high hopes for this property due to beach location but it’s in need of AC replacement. Also tub/shower very slippery. We had to request a mat as we both almost fell in the tub. Avoid this property. I give it a one star at best

The hotel is so close to the street you could hear cars driving by with their radios turned way up high. Apparently, Galveston does not have a noise ordinance. The breakfast was good and the kitchen help was friendly. Overall it was a good experience. I would stay there again.

It was a huge room with a great view. We only wish the breakfast stayed open until 10am on week days.

We had the fire alarm go off at 3:30 a.m., waking up our entire family and requiring us to grab our things and head downstairs. It eventually stopped, but we never received any communication from staff explaining what happened, an apology, or any form of compensation or discount.

The location was great, across the beach and close to shopping, restaurants and groceries. The breakfast were good, All the staff were great, very helpful from the front desk to the kitchen staff. We appreciate the gym as the machines were all in working condition and clean. The laundry room was also clean. The room were spacious (our room was facing the water) and bed were comfortable. We plan to stay here again next time we are in Galveston.

Very nice room with a balcony and view of the Gulf. Room was large with a sofa, large tv, wonderful bed and bath, microwave, and mini fridge. We had plans to use the pool, hot tub and exercise room, but never found the time. I did find the Galveston island brewing about 2 short blocks away, very nice place as well. The hotel has plenty of free parking which was nice as well. The staff were friendly and very helpful, everyone we came in contact with was wonderful. We plan to stay there the next time we visit Galveston.

Wish families with small children would be given a room not above my room. They stomped around till midnite when we had a early morning ahead of us.

Stayed with the family on a quick couple of nights trip. Pretty typical for a beach hotel. For the most part it was in pretty good shape. Overall, the breakfast was pretty good. There’s a gem and a laundromat. Kids enjoyed the pool and a large hot tub. We arrived at the first night pretty late, but still found that there was good parking. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. On our last day, we were running a little late and they even gave us a couple of extra hours for a late checkout. All in all, I would definitely stay at this property again.

There was a patio (balcony on upper floors) with a nice view of the Gulf The workspace was good. However, because the floor was not carpeted (not a criticism), the desk chair rolled a bit to easily when sitting down or standing up. I finally started pushing the chair against the side of the be to immobilize it when sitting down or getting up, and propelling it with my feet to get to or from the desk.

This is the best motel. We stay in this motel every time we come easy check in clean rooms nice and cold a.c. and love being able to walk out on balcony in the morning before the breakfast pool and hot tub are very nice also I don't use the gym but if you do there is enough equipment to work out.

The room was just OK - overall the place could use an upgrade. Breakfast was good but not adequate seating. One elevator not working and the other one only worked coming down. The front desk help was very professional and friendly. If you’re looking to stay the night before boarding your cruise ship this would be ok due to the location and amenities close by.

The staff at this hotel is so patient, good humored, and hard working. We had no issues, period! The king bed room, with the balcony, overlooking the Gulf, was awesome. The complimentary breakfast was extensive and the dining area was large & very clean. We stayed for four days and we couldn’t have asked for a more friendly & courteous staff. We will, absolutely, stay here again.

The room was clean and nice. However, I was highly disappointed that the gym equipment was not working and there weren’t any free weights to use.

The only negatives were that the ice machine was out of service on our floor and my wife wished there was an in-room coffee maker. She wanted to have coffee on the balcony without having to change clothes and head to the lobby first.

Housekeeping was the best part of the hotel. They left clean towels each day without us asking for them. They did a great job.

The bed was not very comfortable. It sank in some areas and was a bit lumpy in others. The TV was not well placed in the room - no direct vision from either the bed or the sofa.

The staff were great, very helpful. The room was extremely spacious, with a nice updated bathroom, although the furniture was quite utilitarian. Parking was easy. The balcony and ocean view were terrific, but safely accessing the beach requires walking down to the traffic light to cross a very busy road. Personally, we preferred driving down to the state park for a less urban, more natural stretch of beach. Also, be aware that this part of the Seawall is quite a distance from where the action is, i.e., the Pleasure Pier, restaurants, etc.

Nice place, good location to beach with patio overlooking gulf. Quiet end of SeaWall blvd.

My view was unobstructed. The hotel's main light outside is about as tall as the third floor. It shined towards our room due to the fact that we were directly above the entrance on the third floor. It was very bright, but we made do at night. A balcony room further down or on a higher floor would have been better. But I was still very happy with my view.

I love this hotel. It is so convenient and has great amenities. Plus I love the balcony right across the beach so you can hear the ocean waves whenever you’re in your room. It’s a nice added plus.

stayed here the night before our cruise. Room was clean and pleasant. Our a/c did not work the best but we made do. Would stay here again.

The view was tremendous, and led me to choose this hotel. Super clean,and breakfast is always great at Best Western Hotels. They did appear to be updating the painting. However the a/c unit was extremely loud every time it turned on, which is frequently in South Texas. The first time, I actually thought it was a semi truck parking in the lot!

For goodness sake, replace all that beat up furniture! At least it room 307!

The ocean view was great! The hotel was a bit dated but still in good condition. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was excellent. I plan to come back again.

Great stay! Clean rooms, good breakfast, right across from the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clean Pool and Hot tub. We are definitely coming back.

Easy check in/out, beautiful sunrise and sunsets, beach access just right across the road, clean room, hot and cold breakfast with any option you could ever want.. if I had to complain about one thing it would be the low shower pressure and trying to wash the sand off my toddler since there’s not a bathtub, but we got it done. Would stay again!

This is a very nice property. The young lady at the front reception was very nice. We'll definitely stay again.

Overall, the price is affordable and I will definitely come back to this place one day.

We first was checked into a room that smelled so bad of water damage. Staff was great and switched us rooms. New room had blood smear on bathroom door and two roaches in the bathroom. Will definitely be trashing our luggage!

Beach is right across the street which covers a multitude of short-comings lol. Cappuccino machine was broken, juice was out, milk was out, breakfast was just ok.

Quiet after school starts back. Most rooms have balconies facing beach.

This place was great, off season so not alot going on in Galveston, but we could enjoy a great view of the Gulf, and enjoyed a great breakfast to start our day. Room was clean, spacious, and parking either front or back were very safe. Location was great, 8 minute drive to Pleasure Pier, cross the road to the Gulf. Couldn't of asked for a nicer visit.

It was a fine establishment. Be ready to wait for Ubers in Galveston, though. Even reserved Ubers will take a while to arrive

Property is across the street from the beach. Restaurants and stores are close by. The room is clean and spacious. Every time we go to the counter, there is someone ready to help. Breakfast was great and always kept clean.

We stay at this location very often it is our favorite goto hotel.

Everything was great from check in to check out. We arrived a few hours early to check in and had planned to explore until check in but they let us check in, it was a pleasant surprise. The front desk was friendly, the room was on the floor we wanted and very large. We liked that the hotel is within 2 miles to the sights. We will definitely stay here again.

We checked in late and the process was very smooth and efficient. The room was very clean , a little outdated in places. The AC unit is noisy but it did not bother me (only my husband)…he’s a light sleeper. The room was large with 2 queen beds and a sitting area. It also had a balcony facing the street and the gulf. There was a small fridge and microwave. Breakfast was the usual ..powdered eggs, sausage and waffles plus fruit, cereal, biscuits, yogurt, coffee. Price was average ( not a deal by any means)

We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to other travelers looking to spend time in Galveston. The front desk staff was very courteous and got us checked in quickly. Super clean room; great view; great value. We loved the free parking. The beach being directly across the road from the hotel made our stay even better. No need to pay for seawall parking and our vehicle stayed sand-free. Breakfast was also great! We will for sure stay here next time we come to Galveston.

Our stay at the Best Western Plus was amazing! We were there for my Birthday and there were 6 of us. We stayed for 3 nights.There’s nothing I could say that needed improvement…From checkin to checkout. The hotel was clean at all times . The breakfast was great with a good variety of food options and ALL the staff were very friendly. The beach was just across the street. Perfect location to shops and eateries. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel was a last minute decision and it did not disappoint! Big room with a great view. Very convenient for food and the beach! Great stay! Will definitely stay here for all my future Galveston trips!
